Ok? And how exactly do you plan to guess if the chase is going to last 10 seconds, or 2 minutes?

So instead of Eruption making the Survivor unable to do anything for 25 seconds, they should to it themselves for potentially even longer?
Yeah, totally reasonable.../s
If you are in SOLO QUEUE and you have 25+ second teammate god loopers, you are doing juuuust fine.

I agree with you. The icon changes will help soloq a lot. I dont think its going to make Eruption balanced however.
Monkey see pickup. Monkey let go gen. Hook. Monkey go back on gen.
Eruption countered.

Ah so you have like a secret cult of all nemesis players who want to protest for needing 3 hits, so u all decide to tunnel at 5 gens to make you yourselves feel like ur some good killers who can win lmao.
OR
We realize that BHVR gave our power a hard counter AND a speed boost on use. Nobody else has to put up with this. Do people get a speed bonus when plague gets max infection? No. Do people get a speed boost on clown intoxication? No.
It's not about a "protest" it's realizing the amount of time lost playing the power correctly. Especially after our chase time was extended after the Marvin's Blood nerf. We used to be able to use a yellow add on to get Tier 2 in two hits on the some survivor if we had skill with the tentacle. THAT is gone now.
Nemesis is not wraith. He can't just M1 you and then jump to Warp 7 and play hit and run tactics on the map. He MUST commit or he loses, full stop. Especially if your zombies are running in place against a tree.

Hello dear users,
I'm doing a reserch lately according to some matches in DBD, and I'm looking for quite a unique player, hovering around the world, unnoticed.
I want to make an interview with a Nemesis player that doesn't tunnel on 5 gens, doesn't go back to the hook every unhook and slugs to death people without hooking just to keep tunneling the guy who was unhooked, ofc this Nemesis can't have Eruption+Cob+Nowhere to hide+Overcharge combo because every Nemesis I see brings 4 slow down + 5 gen tunnels.
If that person is alive, I would like to interview you and ask you some questions about your personality and confindence at your skills, also give you a medal for being the only Nemesis I know who doesn't tunnel on 5 gens with 4 slow downperks.
I used to Main Nemesis. Here's your problem:
Contamination is garbage.
We tunnel because we need to hit you three times, and for some reason BHVR decided to put crates around the map to literally undo one of those hits. We HAVE to commit to chases until you are down. If you get unhooked, we can't just go "Oh golly gee, I'll play nice and let the other guy go."
Because you will heal AND you will cleanse and now allllll my hard work is undone.
It's too much of a risk at too much of a loss.
-
Tunnelling is not a problem. It's a basic gameplay element to remove survivors from the game. For some reason the community has created this idea that you are BAD WRONG for not hooking survivors round-robin style.

The RPD is confusing to navigate, if youre not familiar with it. I'm a massive RE fan so I know the layout quite well, but even I get a bit turned around in the downstairs West Wing map variations. The borgo is really open and visible so no issue having to figure out where you're going.
I played the original RE 2, not the remake this map was based off of. I had the whole thing memorized within the first three weeks. I mean they made us play on it every other match when it was released. The rooms are static.
I don't understand how anyone was still lost there after 6 months.

Essentially the title. Admittedly its abit of a rant but we are also curious. For us we will own up to it if asked but since we're rarely asked its kinda a moot point.
Just had a game with someone who decided to play like an [beep] (hard tunneling and slugging the last one for the full bleed out. On that note, we can add one to the "never got hooked and died counter"). At the end they said "blame the last survivors" and nothing else. Got us thinking about all the times where players play like [beep] and blaming others for their actions and wondering if anyone even admits when they play like that.
The probably with this entire premise is you assume there's something wrong with tunneling and slugging. There's nothing to apologize for there.

I totally feel you.
I did not have any problem with old RPD, I only disliked it if I played like Huntress or Billy, but this did not change with the Rework, since using the Chainsaw is also clumsy on new RPD and playing Huntress is not that much fun as well (like on most Indoor-Maps).
And as Survivor, I highly dislike the easy 3-Gens which can spawn, mainly when the Main Hall has two Gens.
Also really dislike the Borgo-Map, and I think the majority of players on both sides really hate it. They somehow managed to make a Map which is not only bad gameplay-wise for both sides, but also looks ugly as hell.
I feel seen at all times, regardless if I am killer or survivor there. As a survivor I feel like the map is bland. As a killer I feel like I get stuck on the corner of.... like, everything. The only thing cool about this map are the exit gates.

IMO, the original was killer-sided if you were playing a stealth killer.
I hate the new map, too.
I was fine with the old map as long as I wasn't running a 110% speed killer. But for killers like Nemesis, it was fine. At least for me.
Sigh. I miss Hawkins. I would love to play Dredge on Hawkins.
-
I never hated RPD. I'm fine with it. I am on the short list of people that didn't think it needed a rework.
That Borge map is ten times worse to me. I despise that map.
-
Characters in a SWF together should have their names matching in color in the lobby.
So you know who is paired with who. This tells you the duos, the three mans, and the four mans.
And to anyone saying "This is not fair to SWFs", I find that horribly ironic and hypocritical.
-
I despise this map. I have no idea why people hate RPD but love this. This is garbage, and it's not because it is red.
-
Why should the perk be allowed to complete negate all threat of the basement by walking on top of it? It's dangerous for a reason.

Sounds like this game is not for you.

I have my fair share of hours being Devotion 9 (2/3 Survivor, 1/3 Killer). I can count on two hands how many times I've gone against this build. I just did against a Wraith, though, and I know that I've now gone against it enough. This is worthy of a Ban. It's enough. This is why DBD has a player base and not a community. It's make things unfun for the other side. I have only so much time to play this game. Quit being an ass, for those who are.
You think using a perk should be a bannable offense?

Yeah I wasn’t trying to use a hyperbole though, I’ve noted my last 20 matches and it really has been 18/19 of them with these two perks. Granted I play at night so maybe that’s when it’s sweatier, but it has been that reoccurring. It’s like a few months ago if you said in every game you saw dead hard no one would really bat an eye bc it was true
It is far more believable to see one perk out of 4 Survivors with 16 slots than it is to say that EVERY killer is dropping half their loadout on the same 2 perks.
-
The hitboxes become jank. You get hits on targets 3 meters away, or people you should have hit magically don't get hit. You can also rubber band so much that chases become impossible.

It doesn't happen every time to me but it happens often enough to make playing the game pretty miserable. It is just the icing on the cake when you have other miserable tactics every other match, such as the game I just played where it was a Blight who ran... you guessed it; Eruption, Overcharge and COB and just camped 3 gens...
BHVR have some serious changes to make asap when they are back from the holidays as the current meta and the frequency of very unfun games is not sustainable as people will just leave the game
You could have just stopped at "Blight". He's an anti-fun killer regardless of build.

Well, it’s true. Would you like video evidence?
I have personally watched a killer tunnel someone they had hooked and got unhooked until something came about, they literally ignored everything else. They just committed to tunneling that person out and it’s been happening quite frequently since before the new chapter.
Camping as well, I have also been going against killers that will just camp hook at the start and won’t leave hook, or will camp someone they downed until they bleed out or decide to hook. It isn’t happening every game, but it’s becoming frequent
"Frequent" isn't "every game", which is the hyperbolic claim being thrown around these forums almost daily.
When someone says something like "I was hooked and camped to death on first hook ten games in a row", I 100% do not believe them.
-
I don't believe people when they say all they get is hard tunneled and camped. I just don't believe them. For starters, it's mathematically impossible for it to happen to EVERYONE. If even one person gets this treatment, that means 3 other people didn't.
Second of all, people exaggerate. A killer hooking you, then leaving to kick the gen the next tile over, then come back when someone unhooks you isn't camping. Likewise a killer that downs you twice in a row because you ran somewhere less smart than your unhooker and nobody tried to help you isn't hard tunnelling. Hard tunneling is where you literally ignoring EVERYHING else, from bodyblocks to gens about to pop, even throwing the game, to make sure one person dies at all costs. THAT is hard tunnelling.
-
The only difference I find in time of day is which side is getting the Incentive bonus.
-
Personally, I hide and then wait for the guy to die and look for hatch.
Its not the best team move ever, but I'm not giving home boy the satisfaction.
-
Hope you brought Brutal Strength and/or Enfury.
-
I don't take any claim serious that says "every single game" in regards to perks.
-
This is a bit of a stretch. Eruption procs on any kind of a down. Literally any injured Survivor will do.

In my experiences it is getting worse.
I see why tunneling is an issue and why a light bt base kit is added. it's similar to being bled out to death - players being tunneled or bled out on floor don't exactly get the chance to play.
Eruption doesn't bother me that much. As I would still do gens and if it explodes it explodes, I wait for 16 sec and do another gen or unhook my teammate. I am still in the game and I can still choose what to do next, instead of lying on floor waiting for the game to end.
Name one aspect of the bleed out mechanic that has changed in the last several years.
-

I disagree. Over half of my dbd friends stopped playing bc of some overall unfun, unfair experiences. Being bled out for 4 minutes unnecessarily might not be the ENTIRE and SOLE reason to quit. But it does add up to these overall unpleasant experiences.
And tbf I would be a lot more keen to spend money on dlcs and auric cells if this community isnt as toxic and the devs actually do a better job.
Correct. A collection of things. Tunneling this. Eruption that. People that don't like Killer X.
No one has left over bleedout all by itself. Especially since it has been largely unchanged. It has not suddenly gotten worse.
-

If bleeding survivors out on floor became a trend and more killers do so without consequences, I would uninstall. ;)
Why do you think there's an announcement about unbreakable base kit?
Literally no one that has permanently quit DBD has done so because of bleeding out.
NO ONE.
There are many reasons to stop playing this game, but four minutes of bleed time isn't it. Especially when it's been in the game for ages, this isn't some new thing that is suddenly gonna cause a Survivor exodus.

What kind of gaslighting is this? You post on a thread about survivors, crying eruption. Which is a perk that is only a problem for bad survivors. Then don't expect people to reply with the survivor meta everyones been complaining about for months that did not change except for one perk when they "shook up the meta". Brooooooooooo lol 🤣
My question was what other Killer perks are being complained about, and you listed Survivor perks.
So what was the point of quoting me and replying in the first place?

The dc penalty is a volunteer one. You actively press the button to dc so you know the consquence. In other situations it's bad wifi or internet which sucks imo.
The being bled to death situation happens involuntarily. It's one or more player's time being wasted by another person.
In your argument, if it's ok to bleed survivors to death unnecessarily for 4 whole minutes, imagine more killers doing so for fun, more survivors spend their gaming time lying on ground, do you think people would still play survivors?
Yes.

I'm a Survivor Main, and he's right. We DON'T care about killer fun and four minutes clearly isn't a big deal. Many of us have zero problem taking a 5 minute DC penalty, but a four minute slug is now the end of the world?

They are though, both progress the game for either side, both raise and lower pressure. One of them only needs to do 25% of the objectives to finish everything, while the other needs to do 100% of the objective to finish everything.
They are balanced in very similar ways, just like some killers, survivor addons are mostly ignored.
As for processing the same, well, yeah, they do. Charges per second, adding charges, slowing down the usage of charges, speeding up the action, adding a secondary function that normally isnt available, heck, even increasing the range.
The only difference, is that each killer has a specified addon that cannot be used by any other killer, while survivors have a bigger array of addons, but are usable by all of the survivors. Yet, while survivors have more addons, they have less addons to remember. If I were a killer making a build, I'd have to keep 55 addons in mind. Which is a lot, but if I were a survivor making a build, I would need to keep 600 addons in mind.
And honestly, back in the day, things were literally made with the same philosophy, you had a killer addon being able to remove 2 healthstates, and a survivor addon adding back 2 healthstates. Killers had the option to kill without hooks, survivors had the option to do gens without chase. I could go on. The balance of the game has changed towards different aspects, 85% of killer addons have changed. Only 5% of survivor addons have changed.
Survivors are due an addon pass. For the sake of consistency(having no more than 2 addons having the exact same effect), balance(adding 16 charges to a medkit is quite a busted addon, adding an addon to make your flashlight beam visually brighter to no real effect, is less useful than the 16 charges is busted) and just to give items utility that is on more equal grounds.
This is all nonsense.
Hooks and gens are not the same. They are nothing alike. Hooks do not have charges or seconds. You are trying to vaguely imply that because both of those things eventually lead to the end of the game they are balanced the same, and they are not.
And at no point, ever.. EVER.. in Dead By Daylight history have the developers changed hooks or gens and then immediately rebalanced the other one.

I play mostly solo queue and escape one game out of ten unless I gamethrow by screwing my teammates.
The reality is that the whole "I got a bunch of survivors at once that were on all partially completed gens at the exact same time at the precise moment I got down AND I happened to have kicked all the gens in question" is far, FAR less common than people are making it out to be.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3304837#Comment_3304837
Correct, if no one do any Gen for you to kick to begin with.
Not even then.
Here is a COMMON scenario:
Survivor 1 on gen. I chase them off and kick it. They flee. I continue chase. We run into another survivor on a gen. I chase them off and kick it. Those two survivors then run off, and join up to hurry up and Prove Thyself a generator. I wound a Surivvor. Continue chase. The doubled up gen pops. I then down the survivor. Eruption goes off.
First gen damage: 0, already reduced to zero from kicking it.
Second gen damage: 0, already reduced to zero from kicking it.
And the other gen popped, so Eruption does nothing. Total number of wasted seconds: 0. Total amount of gen regression: 0. Total number of Incapacitation seconds:.... 0.
I'm getting sick and tired of every anti-Eruption argument acting as if every time it goes off it's shutting down the entire enemy team and regressing 3-4 generators at once. That's not normal at all.

You encountered a Deathslinger? I don't believe you.

Which is why I typed "the gap between 27sec to 120sec"
Certainly there are times that only 1 survivor affected by Incap:
- Either the 1st survivor is going to unhook and heal the 2nd survivor, while you just down the 3rd survivor, which the 4th one cant do Gen.
- Or 2 survivors already dead, the down on the 3rd survivor, cause the 4th one cant do Gen.
I mean, if survivors are not doing Gen to be affected by Incap, you win. If survivors are doing Gen and affected by Incap, you win.
It is entirely possible for Eruption to cause a total of ZERO SECONDS of lost time, so account for that in your "gap".
