You could always play an anti loop killer and make them go for the "hold w" approach for a bit of freshness.

Survivors should be faster than killers

Speaking of. How true is this post? Is it really that small of drop minimum or major exaggeration?

I honestly don't get how we got from:
COH has strange wording
to:
We should change it so it takes 10 seconds to heal no matter what.
Why would one of the most free perks need a buff in the first place?
-
They said that it only amounts to a 1 second time save if you hit all of them... however, on some maps it feels like even that 1 second save is pretty big.
-
That dripster skin too good.
-
I just find her boring to play as and against because the entire flow of the gameplay kind of boils down to:
Do they have iron will or not?
-
For me, the biggest question would be how financially reasonable would it be to do it.
How many killers do you play? Do you want to buy them all again? Do you have the money to be buying them when you might already have them somewhere else?
As far as the grind, I mean, It depends on how many killers you play and what perks you like using on them. For me, I kind of really only care about Pig, Deathslinger, Huntress and Trickster. But the perks I mainly use come are the basic dime-a-dozen perks from plague, clown, and bubba. The bright side is once you get those perks unlocked, you don't have to tread through garbage perks as long so you'll get your full build pretty quick.

Bro, it's 2 seconds slower. It still essentially gives everyone in range a free medkit with infinite charges and no limits on the totems uptime.
It'll be fine.

Please stream for us and teach us Mr Master Survivor. I am not saying you are lying or game is not survivorside. But i want to see some skills, then i can be better too.
Please teach us. Because i am sure Ayrun & JRM are better survivors than you but even they have not this escape rate. We need something more than words.
Tbf, they hard throw for content... and they find doing gens mind-numbingly boring.

It would be nice, but I don't know if it would change anything. Overwatch gives a lootbox and gold for playing the tank role and its still the most in demand role across multiple ranks.
Though, overwatch is has nothing on the dbd grind. But if people don't find something fun, very rarely can you pay them to play it.
-
It was psychological warfare, like waterboarding someone for several days.
After which, many survivors would be begging for the sweet release of death and then willingly throw themselves on the hook.

Yeah, for me Midwich is worst one. They always get stuck behind those tilted lockers you can hide behind.

I'm sure the "bhvr never nerfs survivors" rant is more hyperbolic than some people in this community make it out to be.
This is one of the first times we've heard the devs outright agree that dead hard is op, no?
I have faith they'll be looking at it. I can be patient at least knowing they're aware of how busted it is, rather than them being silent about it.
My pessimism is more so with things being said but not delivered on and sometimes it's not even the devs fault. Sometimes the devs spit out an idea with it only supposed to be an idea and the community excitedly take it as an absolute thing.
DH (imo) kills m1 killers, though it is a bit more complicated because how maps are laid out also factor into how strong it can be. I hope it gets changed too, but I won't be upset if they end up not doing anything to it
-
I'll celebrate when I actually see something. They also said that they were looking into adding an early game collapse like what... 2 years ago? And it's still not in the game.
Though in their defense, I remember they said they scraped it because it seemed like too much when people stacked slowdown perks on top of it ( something that would absolutely happen if made live).

Well, take Overwatch for example. If you are saying these kind of thing you will get reported and then if that's very often, you will have a first warning within 24h, then a season ban, then after multiple season bans a permanent ban. The result is that voicechat and textchat are very clean, when people are mad they leave textchat or voicechat.
Dead by Daylight is the only game where I see this kind of hatred speech. I am all for freedom of speech, but not in a video game where you little brother of 14 yo can play (despite the game being 18+, some do) and be exposed to this. As long as it is that common (because trust me, it is 1/2 game minimum I get death wishes) I will ask for a change.
Do you get season bans for that? It's been a while since I kept up with those things. I remember they did just flat out gag you if you were reported for abusive chat enough times.
-
110% things.
Blantly running behind someone and chase not triggering or just 'randomly' ending.
-
You will now heal 2 seconds slower. Perk destroyed.

You can't balance free team wide healing.
I definitely think you could., it wouldn't be good however.
I think the ability to allow anyone to heal would usually come with the cost of everyone doing it inefficiently. Like worse than self care. I'd say it's balanced, but it sure as heck wouldn't sell.
But to me, this is just another mettle of man problem. A perk too good to exist without basically throwing to activate it.
-
Right now, I don't think it would matter. I just don't think the killer/survivor population per rank is really there to facilitate a "fair" game no matter how you do it.

Not exactly, it’s 16/0.75 = 21.3 seconds
The 75% is a bonus applied to the .5 selfcare speed for .875, it's more like 18.3 seconds. I don't know why the made it read the way they did , instead of just giving us a more clear idea of it.
-
I don't know if you know this, but NOED used to be permanently active when the exit gates were powered.

They will never make it the same speed as self care
They admitted that woukd make them useless. 75% is fine. They said of that seems too much they will raise it.
A 50% bonus is faster than self-care because the bonus is applied after.
self care is 16/(1-.5), and a 50% bonus is 16/((1-.5)x1.50) and is the difference between 32 and 21.333 seconds. And the latter lets anyone in it's radius to heal versus the one with it equip.
At 75% it's 18 seconds from 16. A change that results in 2 seconds.
-
as long as they make survivors intangible while they are under it's effect, I'm fine. but I wouldn't be surprised if they split the difference and make 6 seconds of BT base and the perks just gives another 6 seconds.
-
@TheArbiter said:
Im assuming this isnt high mmr and includes fresh accounts?
I'm assuming it's considering all of ranks. When asked the question on why they nerfed some of the twins add ons, one of the devs said that at the high end of mmr, the twins kill rate was 'monstrous' even though their pick rate was low.
-
I mean, it's like 21 ish seconds right? (16/(1-.25)) with just the perk itself. Like everyone else, we'll have to see. It's interaction medkits I'm not really thinking about because medkits have been busted just by themselves for a while.
What's really sad is how perks seem to always fall into either the 'pointless' or 'oppressive' category.
Edit: actually, I think @sizzlingmario4 is right. I forgot that the bonus effect is tacked onto the base selfheal speed of .5 for 18 ish from (16/((1-.5) x 1.75))
-
absolutely, if not just because people tend to ask the same question like over and over again... every time.

The devs have something we don't.
Hard stats, so it can be difficult for us to understand why they do the things they do or even how meaningful those stats maybe or not be.

Exactly, idk why this takes so long for BHVR to implement that tbh or if they even considered it.
Probably because they'd need to rewrite all of the games netcode so it's purely server based instead of this p2p + server hybrid monster.

You know you can only use DH when you're injured, right?
That's what I was thinking too, but I guess they mean like not healing after the first hook.
-
Bro, I'm quaking at the bonus wiggle rate that comes with the new struggle skill checks.
-
In an alternate universe, maps were made smaller, there were more unsafe playable pallets then safe ones and hard anti-loop/zoning killers don't exist.
Is it a bit more boring? probably, but much better balanced as there isn't a need to make maps playable against killers that just ignore loops/pallets.
-
I prefer the classic version. Maybe I'm just used to it, but I like how calming it is. the new one is just 'pick-me' crazy. Like a middle school wolf girl that growls and runs around on all fours.
-
Definitely. I find that the range of quality depends on the time I queue. Late night generally feels a bit more harder than my early games. Skill still varies between but again, late night seems to be so wild.
-
Yes, let survivors ditch the gens and straight up kill the killer.

Avoiding endgame but still having the doors ready
I just don't see the exploit part of it from that.
It's like saying that ghostface or Meyers 99% you is an exploit because they can avoid wasting at a bad time but still having it ready to use point blank.
I wouldn't say it's an exploit.
-
@TeabaggingGhostface said:
99ing doors is an exploit imo, it needs to be changed somehow
But how?
:like how is it an exploit?
