They don't have much of a choice, he's just too weak.

    This is pretty much it:

If the killer can't win a game with 12 hooks they will try to end it in 4.

Same logic applies to the twins.

  • @MadLordJack said:

At this point I think it's just a nerf by association.

You see BBQ every game, you see the killer get a little value (because someone didn't want to counter it), it happens again and again and again and again and now you want BBQ to get nerfed.

Even though the reason it's being run so much is because of the bonus BP. And the playstyle it fosters is healthy. And it has plenty of counterplay.

Yep and I have been personally called out for relying on BBQ as a crutch...When I was playing TRAPPER!

A killer who gets virtually no use out of the aura reading at all...

It truly is guilt by association.

  • Stamina would just be an unnecessary limitation to good survivor's ability to loop much like billy's Overheat is an unnecessary limitation for his chain saw.

  • They do have a dev who plays killer...

Its Almo... You know the guy who nerfed huntress' lullaby then tried to gaslight the community by saying it never said it worked on all skill checks(Despite saying it worked on all skill checks prior to the nerf).

  • Survivors cry whenever there is a good pink/red addon so they don't make any good pink/red add-ons.

I am honestly surprised the doctor's pink add-ons haven't been nerfed into the ground with all the pink/red add-on hate from the survivor biased side.

  • Being honest the if the developers want the twins to not mass slug every game they should make them viable in a 12 hook game.

If a killer can't win with 12 hooks they will make sure the game ends in 4 hooks.

  • Its a restriction on an ability that really doesn't need it.

Also while I may not speak for any good billies since I suck at him but its incredibly distracting to have to constantly monitor it even if I rarely overheat.

Its just there to make billy unfun while distracting the player more then anything else and well its easy to understand why almost no one plays him.

  • Its the "Go away I'm hooking someone" perk.

Surprisingly it actually helps the survivor(s) who are being hooked as the exposed makes nearly all hook divers run away instead of farming them(aka you) to death.

  • @Nullclines said:

As a killer main, I wouldn't be against this. It feels like a very cheap, undeserved victory when a survivor misses a save by a matter of milliseconds.

But maybe it really was that bad when it was implemented; I wasn't here to see it.

It was bad enough it got hotfixed removed within a roughly a week.

It was the single fastest removal of any mechanic ever in DBD...

  • The developers desperately need some way to reduce the exponentially increasing grind DBD has and this would be a good starting idea.

I think you are overestimating the number of times you can get these kinds of shots though. On maps like macmillian, coldwind farm, or autohaven there are plenty of times where you can see survivors out of position. Perks such as bitter murmur or BBQ are also very helpful towards this.

I think you underestimate how far away 20+ meters is along with how many tall walls/structures can spawn there.

  • @Yords said:

The problem with Deathslinger is that he doesn't have unlimited range like Huntress, so he has to get survivors at just the right distance. Huntress on the other hand can literally snipe survivors on most maps. It would work on Huntress for sure.

The issue is literally getting 20+ meters of unobstructed LoS/No tall structure or walls and actually catching a survivor with a projectile which most maps realistically don't allow on most of the map.

Remember the skilled huntress achievement aka the long range downs achievement is rarer then every single nurse achievement.

  • Stop with the long range requirements they fundamentally don't work with how DbD is designed which is why Iri coin is an utter design failure.

  • @HealsBadMan said:

It needed a nerf but this was way too much. IMO they already had the right idea with Deathslinger's Iri. Coin addon, just give an appropriate version to Huntress.

Hatchets that hit Survivors that are +24m away will put Survivors in the dying state. Rewards skillful shots, allows you to carry more Hatchets w/o being oppressive and encourages going for the Skilled Huntress achievement.

Iridecent coin was has and always will be a failure:

The coin is a situational,Hard to use, and map dependent add-on that only has an effect if hit hits a healthy survivor.

Unless you're saying it should be a instant kills(Aka ranged MORI) then please stop suggesting turning iri head into iri coin.

  • Only trickster is getting a straight buff,

Given the developer's history with "add-on reworks" demo/huntress are most likely getting their base kits gutted.

Keep in mind the developers have lied repeatedly about not gutting base kit in most(If not all) of their previous "Add-on reworks".

Meanwhile all 3 twins players are probably going to be dropping them after this patch given victor's 5 second self stun on successful hits.

Hexes got a weaker because of a much stronger small game.

freddy nerf where the main thing I question is the dream pallet nerf. I mean its already worse then snare why nerf it?

  • Being honest the only legitimate gameplay I see this changing is when people instantly dive bomb the hook against a wraith/freddy.

Other then those two I don't see it really effecting gameplay much unless you're playing cheese builds like Insidious/basement Bubba.

I really do not see any major issues with the change at all.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

The Iri Head should be changed to being an insta-down if it hits over a certain distance.

(one of ) The main obnoxious aspect of Iri Head as it is is that it can be used melee. So just one hatched won't help much, especially with these wraps.

The combo (probably with Iron Maiden, too) is basically calling for what people hate about Slinger's 'shot faking'...

Iri coin was an objective failure as it was extremely situation, needlessly hard to use, and extremely map dependent if you'd every get the chance to use it.

Stop trying to turn iri hatchet into iri coin.

  • It kinda shows how much survivors abused and forced DS activations if they are now complaining they can't force DS activations every game anymore.

  • Sloppy is fair and usually is only effective against teams who refuse to work on generators while injured form my personal experience.

Also I have beaten many killers using sloppy by just ignoring it as it turns out gen rushing kinda beats anti healing builds.

PS. They removed legion's Feral Frenzy applying sloppy a long time ago. So if they were inflicting mangled in Feral Fenzy they are using the defaced smilely pin add-on not sloppy butcher.

  • This map is mostly both a dead zone for survivors and insanely buggy for several killers.

Remember when the nurse's blink wouldn't work on most of this map at all as her blink thought the corn was a giant wall and thus wouldn't let you blink into it?

  • This is just the normal queue times once the new chapter hype has died down.

People just don't want to play killer for various reasons making survivor queue's much slower.

Its probably why the developers made DS into a proper anti tunnel tool instead of it being blatantly overpowered was as an attempt to get more people to pick up killer again.

  • You mean joke add-ons like the clown's confetti bottle which does nothing but add a silly effect to his bottle and sometimes grants a small amount of BP.

I still want a trapper bear trap add-on that plays the jeopordy theme(Or at least something close to fir copy right reasons) when a survivor is trapped in it as its only effect(No downside(other then it taking up an add-on slot) nor upside purely a joke).

  • Well you are playing as the villain...So no?

I mean you're literally just doing your job as the killer who is the antagonist.

  • @Shroompy said:

Another instance where my idea of starting end game collapse 15-20 minutes into the game would of made a difference.

I feel like instead of starting a normal end game collaspe it should start a special version where the hatch is blocked off and generators need to be done still but its always a 4 minute count down.(Unless the normal EGC starts which it will just speed up to normal)

Why I say this is just so survivors can't purposely hide out when they are losing to try to get the exit gates despite not finishing the generators.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Honestly I don't get why it's in his kit at all. It's such a dumb and boring thing.

Like you have purple addons that make his knives shatter into pieces, or bounce off everything, you had clear potential for cool mechanics there to be part of his base kit and make them fun and rewarding and balanced......but instead HURR KNIVES GO BRRRRR.......

    Idk it's disappointing.

I also hate the sounds. They sound so crappy, like they are made of glass.

    Its a power parasite:

Its a cool feature the devs want on the character but have to make the rest of the character bad to make it remotely fair.

This is just my personal observation but it taking way too many knifes default for one damage was caused by main event as main event would down too fast when you make it take less knifes for damage.

  • To be fair...How else is the trickster exposed to kill anyone?

I am not justifying them doing it to be a jerk(They kinda outed themselves as such) I am just pointing out that even against the best tricksters I have faced on the best map with the best add-ons can barely 2k with heavy amounts of camping and tunneling.

  • Billy just needs his base kit nerfs reverted and he's good.

Trickster on the other hand desperately needs help and this would be a good START to the buffs.

That's literally only a problem because haddonfield is badly designed and filled to the brim with god windows. If they rework haddon, which they eventually will, it will be fine.

    Haddon houses are near-infinites regardless

I know haddon is broken but also view this from a future proofing perspective:

If they'd ever want to make a multi story focused map(Aka the multiple stories are the main defence for chases) again they'd have to balance the entire map around a 20 second BL, which I would imagine make the map almost unplayable without BL.

Ex. The saloon map is already strong with the current BL now imagine how bad it would be with you're BL idea...It could out right make the main building an infinite loop.

Falls are balanced around the stagger and thus having a perk that effectively removes it entirely would cause a lot of issues.

Finally I fully expect that the reason why multi story focused maps is because of old BL which would have broken them.

  • @SkeletalElite said:

They should remove the exhaustion component, but put it on 20 seconds cooldown like Q&Q.

No infinites as a result but can be weaved into your loops effectively if timed well.

Trust me when I say this:

20 second long cooldown that can now be stacked with Dead Hard/lithe while going down mid chase will result in infinites/near infinite loops on haddon.

Remember any good looper will last longer then 20 seconds without landing(as it goes down mid chase it also goes down while falling and thus making its effective cooldown on haddon 18 seconds) doing the house infinites.

  • @Zixology said:

    100% agree

Now that the killer mains have stopped reading... BL is just a bad exhaustion perk. It's far too map dependent. Some maps give you enough options to get to a high place to fall off of. Others will get you killed before you can find one.

And then there's Sheltered Woods... hyuck Sheltered Woods.

The situational use of BL the main thing balancing BL due to it having two separate movement speed buffs(Reduced stagger + sprint burst).

On some maps it can completely reset a chase.

On other maps you can't reliably activate it.

Its the highest risk/reward exhaustion perk and thus the theoretically strongest exhaustion perk.

Its both the best and worst exhaustion perk due to its situational uses.

  • I'm ok if they change one of his pinks to allow it with a draw back or if its possible by stacking turning speed add-ons.

But baseline I'd say no as it kinda removes the point of turning speed add-ons.

  • @scenekiller said:

Speaking as a survivor main, the DS change was needed, for sure. However, it doesn’t do virtually anything to prevent tunneling (not that it fully did in the first place)

I suggest, in addition to the conditions set so far (touching a gen/totem/healing someone/etc), DS should remove its timer and be active indefinitely until another person is hooked. Some killers are completely abusing this nerf lately and negating any of the anti-tunneling purposes of this perk by just going on massive slugfests, and something really needs to change.

While not a perfect solution, I believe removing the timer is completely necessary now that the conditions are more strict. And if you aren’t a tunneler, this change should not face any opposition from you.

Ah the famous: "Lets change DS so the last survivor is forced to be slugged to death!" suggestion.

The simply answer is no because forcing the killer to slug survivors to death isn't fun.

  • These perks are mainly just outdated as star struck more or less replaces all 3 because as it turns out insta downing survivors is better then broken/no wiggle progression while in attack cooldown/ seeing people saboing you slightly better combined.

  • I hate them when I am playing as a survivor.

I hate them when I am playing as a killer.

    I am no hypocrite.

  • 4 man SWF in a nutshell if this ever happens:

Getting downed while on death hook?: Kick the killer!

The killer is playing a killer you don't like?: Kick the killer!

The killer is just better then you?: Kick the killer!

The killer was nice and let you farm instead of going for the 4k?: Farm points then kick the killer so they don't get any!

I can go on but you get the point.

  • As other pointed out the basement almost always spawns in a very strong area for the survivors.

This means the basement is expose to be the risk for using insanely powerful window loops/pallet loops is that if you go down at them prepare to suffer the consequences.

  • Yep its been my experience with a lot of the McMillan maps for a while(Long before this update) its why there are times where the game is just too rigged against the survivors for them to realistically win and vice versa for killers when the opposite happens.

Its also why KR statistics need to be taken with a massive pile of salt because of this non-sense.

  • It has happened to me with 3 purple items in a row from chests in 3 different games and I am the kind of guy whose luck gives him nothing but brown toolboxes even with plunderer's instinct.

So ya I wouldn't be too surprised if chest drop rates are bugged but outside of multiple survivors getting a purple medkit(That is rather OP if multiple survivors get it mid game) I think its fine.

And with this the nearest surv from the hook can't unhook

You're only now figuring it out that its an anti body blocking/hook swarming perk?

Yes you can't instantly dive the carried person and trust me your teammates will be thankful that starstruck saved them from being farmed to death.

  • Being honest trickster is so bad he's the first killer I genuinely feel bad for going against as survivor given just how awful he is.

I mean I have been in more danger as a survivor against brand new player trying nurses for the first time then against Trickster.

Also I never understood how people can brag about beating the WORST character in a game.

I mean people solely use dan in Street fighter AS AN INSULT TO THEIR OPPONENT because he's meant to the objective worst character.

Then I have no clue how he kept shooting to my location even when hiding. It's like he just... knew o was hiding behind that tree or pallet.

If you were bleeding they might have saw you spawn blood orbs(Which aura's he can see) before he went into his power especially if you crouched which spawns one orb.

Yes crouching and thus Tbagging gives oni more blood orbs.

  • "Afking" is a word that's also censored for some reason.

  • Any survivor who values getting into a game before 10 mins in queue cares about killer fun as the more fun the killer role is the more likely there will be more killers in queue at any given time.

More killers in queue = faster survivor queues.

  • People who have a lot of time in the game can have bought everything with iri shards they they can or would ever want.

  • @CyperX said:

Why ?? and is this the best they could do ?? Also, which 5 year old chose the name trickster ????????

Meh his name is at least better then Deathslinger.

With DS(Deathslinger) we can't even use his short hand because its the same has DS(Decisive Strike).

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

The only power he has is deranking like nobody else.

Man he must be giving the plague a run for her money to be better at deranking then her with her legendary 4k depip.

  • @Axe said:

run DS so you don't get tunneled

it deactivates IF YOU DONT GET TUNNELED

But that would require them to admit that they don't get tunneled anywhere near as often as they say!

Just let you know I’m pretty sure totems fall under boldness, not objective, when it comes to score events.

I was referring to emblems hence why I brought up the objective emblem "Lightbringer" instead of blood points.

I honestly think the only reason why they are boldness BP is the risk of killer protecting hex totems and giving boldness BP in games where the killer is afk or has been looped for 5 gens.

  • I'd say I expect a buff to the nurse to be more likely then the trickster getting a patch day buff given the PTB nerf to him.

  • Sluzzy you do know the idea of making the game more fun for killers means there are most likely going to be more killers and thus shorter survivor queues.

So isn't the idea of making it more fun for killers a good long term idea to help the survivors actually get into games?

1 … 22 23 24 25 26 … 52
