Dead Hard is cleary the most broken Perk in the Game because it gives a 3 heal state
Whit the Insane Gen Speed and all 4 Survivor using Dead Hard u dont have a Chance as Killer except u are Tunneling
Dead hard is broken and need to be nerfed or removed from the Game there is no reason a Survivor should need 3 Hits to get Down when Gens CAN be finished in 10 sec
Dead Hard should only be viable nice in a Match or only reactivate when u got hooked
And u also should be able to Block Abilitys like Victor whit Dead Hard and BT
To be honest when playing killer I assume all survivors are running dead hard and ds,so it changes the way you approach the game, always remember this game is about fun and should be challenging which makes you a better player despite how frustrating it at times might feel.

As a Spirit main, I 100% agree. She’s a lot more fun now that she has some kind of way to play around her. Can’t wait for all the people that think she’s dead to make the excuse that you only play against bad survivors.
Totally agree, spirit is still a powerful and viable killer to use.Good spirit players are very challenging to play against and are usually great fun,I play both killer and survivor equally and roster spirit and love playing against her, have been playing plague recently to mix things up,hard to master but also great fun to play.

Please play against a decent Blight loaded with slowdown perks and the team is completely paralyzed.
Yep got that,I would say plague is in there also, good call. But not many killers play either unfortunately, love playing against both very much a decent challenge.
-
In most games against anywhere half decent survivors ruin lasts on average 2 mins until the hex totem is blessed.Slowdown perks are easily countered and with the right add ons gens are popped at blisteringly fast speeds.I play both killer/survivor equally and have never benefited much as killer or been hindered much as survivor by slowdown perks.

I started this thread to get a feel of what are the real gripes/issues people have with this game and every single response is valid.Mostly people complain about toxic players or unfair perks, boon totems dare I say it noed. But just played a game as killler with Myers(who I am chronic as) and got a very lucky 4K against a three red rank and one gold rank survivors and they were lovely in the end game chat saying how much fun they had in the game.I think win lose or draw the most important thing is to have fun,I should add that prior to this game I had 3 abysmal games but stil had fun and again all the teams were really nice in end game chat. This is a game and although adversarial it should be undertaken with a smile on your face and a positive attitude.

nerf survivors into balance. its way to dull and safe. I think that if your doing a gen u shouldn't be chilling you should be very aware around you.
GENERATORS:
1st change. tinkerer gets reworked so it instead makes your perks 2/3/4% more effective(This doesn't have to be a thing its just an idea but do rework tinkerer). then make it so whenever your doing a generator, you suffer from the oblivious status effect. this will make it so your always on edge and wont know where the killer is when doing a gen and creates something more of you using eyes not ears, and can also lead you to fail skill checks if your too focused on the setting around you and if your concentrating on the gen the killer can grab you. Also as soon as you get off the gen you instantly lose oblivious.
2nd change. gen speeds. ok now everyone knows that gens get done stupidly fast. 2-4 minutes and if its a good killer maybe 4-5 minutes. now I am to make 1 manning a gen weaker and also 2/3/4 manning a gen. so without further ado lets get into it. OLD: 80/60/40/20 -> 100/80/60/40. this change aims to make generators more fair for the killer and not just an easy win for survivors.
3rd change. this is the last generator nerf but you have an objective before you can start doing generators. you have to pick up a wrench from the ground (only 1 survivor has to do it for all other survivors to get the repair action.) this change will make the survivors more decisive on to find the wrench then loop the killer or camp gens until someone gets a wrench. and u cant just go straight to doing a generator.
LOOPS:
1st change. now as we all know. The hold W and loop is such a powerful thing and doesn't have any risks. so my idea is to add a new mechanic. this mechanic is aimed to make infinite loops not infinite. increase every killers m/s by 5% (yes even nurse) so that its harder for them to run infinite loops without pallets. and any infinite loop with a pallet gets completely removed and re purposed in a different Location of the respected map. House of pain needs changes to make it more fair for both sides. Ironic how a killer map is survivor sided.
and finally to weaken the W key meta a bit more is to add a new mechanic called stamina (now this will be very controversial so I will be giving a different change) that depletes after 2-3 minutes of running. and fills up in about 50s. this will also weaken loops overall and make it so 1 survivor cant loop all game. the 2nd change is actually simple. you get hindered when you get hit by the killer for 5 seconds (after the speed boost is gone).
PERKS:
Now these changes I am about to list should be very obvious and shake up the meta.
UNBREAKABLE: recover from the dying state 2 times. but each time you do you are hindered until healed and the speed is gone and your recovery speed is now 10% slower.
DECISIVE STRIKE: its fine, I think it should be removed when you do an exit gate as its an objective and if another sur is healing you. your not getting tunnelled, so that should also remove DS.
IRON WILL: 50/75/100 -> 45/70/95
DEAD HARD: Once used, you cannot interact with windows/pallets for 4/3/2 seconds
ADRENALINE: Shouldn't proc when on the hook, idk why it does even do that
BT: Honestly, I am not a fan of tunnelling, so here ya go. 8/10/12 -> 10-12-14 seconds
ENDING:
And thats it.
let me know your thoughts!
Really well thought out with some progressive ideas,I like the ide with DS being disabled when the exit gates are powered always thought it was way unfair at the end game when you have basically committed to one survivor with the knowledge the remaining players will escape that they can skill check DS and escape.I have used it as survivor on such occasions and the victory felt a bit hollow.

But, but, but, but that's to guard the survivor against getting tunneled out of the match 😱
Just to be clear, i never understood it either as most of the time i know who will be on dead hook and who isn't
Not everyone in every game is that super aware, the survivors have this info at hand, why not the killer,it will probably be exploited by some for tunnelling but others will use it as a tool for tactical planning just as survivors do to employ body blocking distraction tactics to protect a player targeted by the killer who is about to go on death hook.simples.
-
I split between killer and survivor on an equal basis,I have said this before on these forums but I have found recently the game to be a progressively unenjoyable experience as killer and a muted boring experience as survivor. If the devs don’t do something and soon about the balancing issue this game is pretty much dead in the water.
-
Both annoying but part of the game,as long as they are in the game gives killers something to moan about just like survivors moan about noed, and so the world turns, lol.

Totally get where your coming from and they are sound well thought out ideas but the only thing it removes is the randomness or surprise in the game because as survivor there is nothing more satisfying than using DS when the gate is open and you’re about to be three hooked or using noed on some toxic who has been annoying you all game.Plus you’d have to change the name of noed to Ed,and more than that forums such as these would effectively close as there would be nothing left for players to moan about.😉

Try to not be a potato against a skilled S tier killer.
I like how some survivors blame potatoes on their team for their poor performance likewise killers blame DS,DH for theirs,I play both killer and survivor in equal measures and you have to factor in all the unknowns into your tactical game, yep the game mechanics are shoddy, yep some of the perks add ons on both sides are op but it doesn’t stop us loading the game up and using our precious time playing it,I think the most important thing is to embrace its imperfections, see it for what it is(a game),don’t take it too seriously and to have fun,the alternative is play something else instead.

@Mandy said:
I don't really see the issue at all with NOED - first of all it can be removed from the game before it's even active and secondly, the killer is down to 3 perks throughout the entire match. I'd also refute that it's used on less skilled killers, i see it used a lot on low mobility killers, which I think is perfectly understandable as those are the ones that are likely to reach endgame more.
Totally agree,I play killer /survivor in equal measures and always equip noed as a killer and go into a game as a survivor assuming the killer has it equipped,as is stated above it is fairly easy to counter and takes just a bit more time, tactical players allow for this and adjust their gameplay to suit. It’s pointless moaning about it because it just drags up the what about dead hard, decisive strike debate with killer mains.

I’d like to see the end game screen changed so that instead of seeing everybody’s Grades (which aren’t used for matchmaking) you see 5% percentile brackets for the hidden MMRs. It would give a more accurate picture of where the system estimates you and your opponents are skill-wise, plus it would allow you to see how your own rating varies between different killers. And it would clear up some of the confusion on the boards when people talk about Grades being out of whack in a match thinking that the Grades are used for the matchmaking.
I have no strong opinion on good or bad the MMR is. Personally my own matches seem fine under MMR, but I have no objective dataset to look over from the game to declare what issues the MMR has or doesn’t have on a broad scale compared to the system it replaced. Mismatches can happen for all sorts of reasons, not just a problem in the algorithm, but also due to things like swfs and ragequits lowering ratings and brand new players maybe being initially set to be “average” which could put them too high initially, etc. It can also be caused by a lack of enough very high skill or very low skill players online to reliably match against each other in a reasonable timeframe, or by just dumb bad luck. Without a way to actually see your own relative rating bracket and your opponents and a way to set up a database of randomly selected matches at various skill levels it’s extremely difficult to make objective declarations about how balanced matches are or should be.
Totally agree, think of the logic used by the devs,”we’ve got this number based on your skill but your not allowed to see it,but you’ve got a progress level based on numbers and colours which you are allowed to see,but ignore that it’s just there for show” I’ve used this gif before but I genuinely believe this is how the MMR works.

Here's a couple. Yes, I know I'm cheating but it's impossible to pick just one.
- Haddonfield, RPD and Badham reworked to be less obnoxious.
- Map offerings removed entirely.
- Pinhead lunge bug fixed and his voice restored.
- Pseudo infinites on the above maps fixed.
- Demogorgon's ambient sound volume reduced significantly when playing him.
- Wraith and Slinger nerfs rolled back.
- Boons incur a 90 second cooldown when you snuff one.
- Boon totem 'snuff' radius increased.
Yep all are more than valid..

Great tongue in cheek vid by spooks, another ill thought out aspect of the game by the devs.I play both killer and survivor in equal measures. Why introduce an aspect to the game that makes it frustrating to one side(killer) and boring to the other(survivor) by removing some of the element of skill. This aspect needs a rework to make it balanced.
-
I play split between survivor and killer.I had been enjoying playing as spirit until the recent updates, now gameplay just feels flat and not as fun.The developers need to remember that some players paid cash for the ability to play killers such as spirit and messing with her to the detriment of gameplay may leave them feeling conned. As survivor since the update haven’t seen Spirit once.I have now given up on spirit and returned to playing hag.

@ausanimal said:
You say boons give survivors a secondary objective by blessing totems, killers have a perk that gave survivors a secondary objective which was old undying, look what happened to that survivors complained about it and that it was not fun and to hard if you have to destroy all 5 even though survivors have perks and items to help find totems so it got nerfed.
Now the devs bring out a perk that benefits survivors and can make the killers game even harder survivors are more then happy to look for totems to bless them and killers have no real hard counter to boon totems , At least with old undying survivors knew it was you get lucky and find the right hex or you end up destroying a max of 5 totems now how many times can a survivor bless a totem im pretty sure its more then 5.
So how can you claim boons are a great change and a healthy one when survivors claimed old undying wasn't?
Only real issue I have with boons is it is no risk high reward for survivor and a double hit for killers if it was a hex totem.Sure it takes folks off gens for a bit,but they can be blessed indefinitely through the game, while for the killer once the hex is gone it’s gone.I play both survivor and killer in about equal measures and feel this needs reworked in some way to at least make it look fairer,or the complaints won’t go away.

I shouldn't think so, at least not so significantly enough to be a problem. This forum is but a tiny selection of the total playerbase, and as vocal as it is it really is not the voice of all players.
Some take it too seriously. Honestly, going into a match with random perks or with the aim of focusing on a specific area of play, or any aim other than "I must be a God at this!" makes the game far more enjoyable.
The only problems may come from after-game chat, but people have the ability to choose to reply, and if people are able to realise those insulting others are just unhappy, desperate individuals, and actually sending messages of compliments is far better, then the game can be so much better.
Well said bro.👍

I've been running Brutal Strength, Jolt (formerly Surge), BBQ, and swapping the 4th slot out for other perks to try to find a little more synergy or benefit.
I've found that Brutal helps a lot at god pallets and to get them to leave high walled pallet loops faster to get them more in the open.
Jolt is an okay slowdown since his speed makes Pop inefficient, Corrupt only lasts 2 minutes, Ruin is usually gone in a minute and his speed makes it harder to get value from it, and I don't have Deadlock on him yet (which is gonna be my new slowdown or played on top of Jolt)
BBQ for the BP and to know where to go after the hook on bigger maps.
For the last slot I find myself using Lightborne a lot lately cause flashlights physically hurt my eyes irl but sometimes I put on STBFL, Agitation, Bitter Murmur, or I'm All Ears. Once I get around to unlocking it I'm probably gonna use Deadlock as my every match perk and relegate Jolt to the adjustable slot for Lightborne or Agitation.
Good build brother.👍

Personally I just got back to playing this month after not playing for about a year (just got sidetracked with other games) and honestly the game feels mostly the same as it did when I played previously. Other than having a few more killers to choose from and some tweaks to the HUD and certain abilities and more graphic revamps it's really the same experience, which is good! I have no major problems with this game, it's fun. 🙂
That is good to hear,I think people forget the game is supposed to be fun,you will always get try hardship and the occasional toxic player but I wouldn’t still play if it wasn’t enjoyable.👍

How is there still so much variation in the skill of survivors, and killer for that matter, from one match to the next? Isn't SBMM supposed to keep you with players of similar skill?
I understand moving up or down if you have a win/lose streak going, but to still have such drastic differences from one match to the next is crazy, frustrating, and takes a lot of fun out of the game.
If queues need to be a little longer for more even matches I'd be fine with that.
I have studied this for a while now and have the definitive answer

i think the game is on a downwards spirale sadly, if there be no significant changes like more gamemodes that separate swf from solo queue the playerbase will start declining imo, there will be new games like vhs that will take at least a part of the community, also the game is reaching character overload while it has too few (active) maps, same mistake was made with other games, Overwatch f.e., many devs don't understand how much more weight a map has over a character beyond some point, 30 is the magical number for whatever reason, when you go beyond that new chars aren't welcome anymore, there is a limit for how much a player is willing to learn, grind and memorize.
Also the heavy amount of cheating that recently raised will be hard to handle, if they even try. I said in the early year that behaviour is gonna have problems and i feel like i have been right, i wish for a good future for this game but i can't see it coming. Also the recent reviews went from 85% to 75% within 2 month, it starts showing. I mean imo it isn't hard to make the game better but history shows that the devs just don't do it, what's very silly because it's their only product, who knows what's going on with them, i don't.
I think the cheating is a bit more under control since the last patch, either that or I have just been lucky.

Idk I can’t believe the mmr is truly based on whether you kill or survive. The old emblem system was better and didn’t encourage selfish gameplay. Then they trick everyone with the bp rewards grade system and most people think that nothing changed. Well now my games are camping tunneling and other players who won’t save me and creep around the map. Used to be my favorite game and I’ve stopped. Hoping the game goes downhill to encourage the developers to change it back but i doubt it and they just keep pumping out cosmetics( which I’ll admit are some of the best lately ) and I’ll try to move on to other games
I was of that mind but I hope with the prospect of what appears to be similar type games like VHS it might encourage healthy competition forcing the developers to improve the game.Look at the rivalry between Cod and Bf,both started out as completely different concepts, both with faults they have bounced off one another through the years and made competingly better products,it has got to the stage it’s hard to tell where one ends and the other begins, but imagine if one had stagnated and did little other than cosmetics where would they be now.The simple truth if the game starts to go downhill and doesn’t improve people will simply stop playing, especially with other developers trying to attract them with similar type products.

VHS will come out and it might take players for a couple weeks. BHVR will do what they do best drop BP codes and cosmetics. Might be an "event" also. But it won't be anything earth shattering. Bugs and imbalance will still be here. VHS just doesn't have the licencing to go up against DBD. Does a player want to play as some of horrors biggest killers....or a fake stuffed dinosaur? Not hating on VHS btw I think it is a good concept.
This sounds about right to me,I totally get that the licensed killers concept is excellent but I hope these licences don’t start to slide if the games popularity wains. We have already lost a killer two survivors and a map through losing the Stranger things licence.

@dugman said:
People who think the game has gotten worse over time need to go back and watch old videos from the first couple years after it came out. It’s night and day how much improved between the original game and the current version, both in terms of the graphic overhaul, variety of characters and general gameplay. Far fewer infinite loops, fewer major bugs, all the killers are in roughly the same kill rate range of around 54% or so, etc.
There’s always going to be some balance issues between certain perks and add-ons and characters and some minor bugs around, the game is too large for their not to be. But to claim that the game has gotten worse over time is just failing to actually compare side by side what the game used to be and what it is now.
I’m with you on some of the points you raised.I started playing not long after this came out,the graphics were primitive, playable characters limited and the layout of some of the maps poor I’m taken back to infinite looping by survivors on some maps. That said it is still going strong after nearly six years just hope the devs can keep up with the competition and keep this game relevant and playable.

This will be interesting to watch,.IfVHS becomes popular it might snowball into other developers jumping on the bandwagon as we saw in the plethora of Battle royal type games that capitalised on this genre a few years back.
Heres hoping that the developers listen to players and make the right adjustments/improvements to the game to compete.

everytime time someone says killers have it so bad right now, I just want to direct them to videos of dbd in 2016. We literally had 2 windows on killer shack, 2 window vaults at cow shed, nearly every junk tile had 2 pallets 20ft away from each other, we had literal infinites loops where you would never catch a survivor running it unless they literally stopped moving because the set up was horrendous and we had no blood lust. And yeah you could say "oh but you had instant moris!!!" Yes. We did. We also had instant gens. You could load into a game, and 20 seconds later hear 4 gens pop because the survivors each brought a brand new part that literally did 100% of the gen progress just by tapping a button. The state of being a killer in the game today is FAR FAR FAR from the worst it has been. It's infact in one of the best states it has ever been in. You doomsayers have no clue what you're talking about in the slightest.
Fyi i have played this game in various formats since its release,it is my opinion based on what i see now. The game always had its faults but was also fun to play,i feel that has gone. You are entitled to your opinion, however the presumption of and manner of your reply is laughable.Defend the game by all means but it is moribund.

And everyone was gonna play Dead Silence. Yeah all these games were said to be the DBD killer and yet here we are. So now it's everyones gonna play VHS. And in a few months it will be everyone's gonna play "x,y,z"
Problem is before from a killers perspective it was fair and fun, with the recent nerfs/updates playing killer is frustrating and seems biased towards survivors. This paradigm shift will likely make some players look elsewhere, from reviews and watching game play VHS seems a viable alternative.Only time will tell i guess.

i've reached irdecent IV as killer and have been stuck there for more than 50 hours of playtime, survivors just do gens, bring toolboxes and camp every pallet, they just give time to their team, they bring dead hard to extend loops and other meta perks, which is fine but..
im currently losing EVERY match i get, no matter the build or the addons i bring it is always a 4man escape, but then i get 1 kill and mmr is like oh, good killer! let's match him with even "better" survivors, getting STOMPED every match, which you know is pretty fun for the survivors i guess, but it has brought me to massive amounts of frustation and rage, my only objetive is to reach iridecent I so i can get more bloopoints, but that is not possible, what's the best part?, these survivors arent good at looping, they just do gens and camp ALL the pallets, how am i supposed to catch then like this?.
And before you tell me... im not going to play blight, nurse or spirit, ALL the killers should be viable, but nooo let's NERF the wraith (which is the killer i am playing), which was actually pretty balanced, but they had to make him weaker..., i have plenty of hours on him and im pretty confident with my skill in terns of playing him, but.... its just not enough, you just DON'T have enough time at all!.
the most i got in a single match is 3 kills, and guess what? BRUTAL KILLER! oh boy i do love when i struggled so much to get 3 kills and all i get is A SAFE PIP!, the game doesnt consider the map you're on, the items survivors bring and all the other factors youi should consider in such this as sbmm, i've played atleast 20+ matches and the most i've got is 3 pips, then it all goes downhill.
survivors should'nt just be able to go pallet to pallet, camp then, and buy time for their team while still having 20 more pallets . however i think i've got the solution to this...just bringing and endgame build, when they camped every pallet and there are no more pallets, they will all die, yes, maybe, but it wont give me a pip..., not to consider i got very different variety of maps, still, most "good" survivors all do the same, actual good survivors just dont stick to the objetive so much and concetrate in other things, like saving and being chased, i've reached Iridecent I as survivor already, all of that with bad teams, (people with less than 30 hours mostly), by just farming points, why is it so important to escape with 15k points? what do you gain by doing that when you're already iridecent I? i just dont get it....
the game has become borderline unplayable at this point, if i dont play and s tier killer am i just doomed to not reach iridecent I?, i understand they just cant nerf survivors in certain ways because that would directly buff the s tier killers, but atleast from my point of view, all killers should be equally as good, they should all have good chase if you're skilled with then, i've mained wraith since i started playing, and i have to admit he's a lot better than he was before , but back then i didnt get matched with such survivors and was able to win 50/50 of my games, which is actual balance, but now... the most i get is brutal killer. I DONT WANT to be forced to play killers i dont like in order to win, how is this fair?
Most survivors in high mmr are there for only one reason, they do their objetive quickly, and buy time for their team, which is fine, if it wasnt as braindead as camping every pallet in the map, not questioning their skill, but honestly when matches last about 5 minutes with killer meta perks, i feel like i either need the match to become a slugfest or give up my playstyle entirely... there is no fun in this game, not anymore atleast, before hit validation you were able to punish the pallet campers to a certain extend, now they will always get the stun, get hit and not get injuried 100% of the time, it is indeed dark times for killers my friends.
but what if i play another killer? guess what, if i try to do that i get matched with people with the same amount of hours as me (over 4000), which should feel balanced when i play a killer i have 0 experience with because i have mostly played wraith and wraith only for the entire lifetime of my existence.
insult me if you want, this was a very healthy form of venting... i feel better now, however i still feels like im being matched unfairly... you have to try your best every match for a slight chance of winning, you cant relax, its only frustation on sweat...
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.Well said im ready to throw the towel in.Its counter productive on the developers part, soon no one will be playing killer.

They aren't OP at all. I'm even seeing a lot of survivors switching back to their old meta perks. Killers really have no reason to complain.
The way things are going you wont hear them complain for much longer when they switch to VHS,this game is unbearable as killer.

No you are not. The game is unplayable lately.
I agree with all the above comments,it is frustrating and unenjoyable playing as killer. It has been a steady drip, drip, drip in the way of updates in favour of the survivor the last update has pushed it even further. It is causing killers to engage in toxic behavior tunnelling/camping etc,i dont blame them as it is bourne out of frustration, the blame lies squarely on the developers shoulders. The usual reply by critics is "get good",this doesnt apply any more the developers need to make the game fair, unless they do something soon players will leave in huge numbers in favour of games like VHS.....
