Thing is, agreeing on what is balanced is tough. There are a lot of broken mechanics that seem fine because maps are not fine. There are a lot of seemingly useless mechanics that are actually really good, but dont get to shine because of maps.
As for Plague, yeah, they were minor changes, but minor changes in this game easily have a butterfly effect. If you charge puke 1% faster, that means you can down survivors faster, which allows for snowball effects to apply quicker. If you infect survivors faster, that means they need to cleanse more often or be injured for longer without you even needing to do much. It's a numerical small change, but the effects are quite massive. No longer cancelling your puke because you didnt reach the treshold easily means you down survivors faster. Increased basekit infection time and increased infection rates means survivors get injured faster without you having to patrol gens as much.
Also, relying on addons doesnt mean you rely on specific addons to work(let alone that as killer, you can pretty much refresh addons enough to have a practical infinite amount of them, especially if you seek them out specifically in the bloodweb).
As for the new perks for Spirit? I only feel that applies to Stridor, and Stridor Spirit deserved to be flushed down the drain. It basically made Iron Will an utterly useless perk to run and would require Iron Will to be buffed or Stridor to be nerfed. Since you cant really buff Iron Will, Stridor needed to be nerfed. You know, the exact same argument that people have now that Stridor is useless because of Iron Will and demand Iron Will to be nerfed? I'd honestly be fine with Iron Will reducing Grunts of Pain with 90-95% instead of 100%, but the maths behind it could break the sound there and would need perk priority to be applied. So I personally think Stridor simply needs a minor change where it adds breathing on injured survivors. As for any other perk on Spirit, eh, I dont see too much of an issue with it.
Personally, I rather see maps being balanced a bit better. There is a lot of RNG that can literally make games unwinnable for either side(I have had The Pale Rose yesterday with only 4 pallets against a Bubba(shack pallet, 2 on the boat, 1 in the docks). I am assuming, in fact, I hope that I am somewhat correct that was the case since the killer was facing 3 survivors with relatively high MMR while he only had 2 hours in the game as killer and was probably told by friends to buy Bubba for BBQ. If the killer werent extremely new to the game, there was no way survivors would have any shot at winning that game. If the map was like that because the killer was lower rank and new to the game, I'd actually be shocked, since I cant find anywhere in the patchnotes that killer based seeds were added to the game.
Anyway, I guess my TL;DR would be that maps are the only thing right now that truly need changes. Most killers, except for 3, are mechanically balanced, some even overpowered, if it wasnt for certain maps holding them back.
Yep can’t really argue with any of that, the map design and MMR specifically SWF needs looked at,don’t know how they would address that but it is possible.I agree some killers need nerfed but again it’s all subjective and whatever they do it will alwaydps have a polarising effect nature of the game👍

The game popularity is going up. Don't listen to all the people on here who moan moan moan for attention, then carry on happily playing regardless.
Personally. I think the game is in a worse state than it has been since I started playing, and it is so heavily favouring survivors now, more than i have ever seen it. So I switched to survivor and have loved it ever since.
Yep agree,I have actually found that I am playing survivor more and the quality of killers has taken a dip I think that in itself tells you the direction the game has taken.

Just had a game where a 4 escape turned into a 3k because we missed one totem how is this not a crutch perk for easy kills. Killers have had this broken perk for far to long and are outraged and entitled when survivors get good perks. Devs we demand a nerf or survivor queues are going to keep getting longer. Losing a game last minute because of a cheap perk isn’t fun
Simple answer stop playing.I play killer and survivor 50/50 and if noed is a problem, there are counters yes do bones, but DS is a good solution.

No offense I'm trying to ######### on you or your beliefs or anything but the majority of killers ik that have played the game for a long time don't take it so personally and just want the game to be more balanced
All those complaint threads you see are new killers shocked games aren't easy and wondering how the game can be so unbalanced
Us vets aren't really bothered by it, it's been that way for years it's just with sbmm it's really been highlighting the imbalance so more and more people complain
Totally agree,I have played for over five years and the game is probably better than it was in the early days however yes there are balancing issues and the MMR needs reworked but other than that my biggest gripe when playing killer is the entitlement of particularly newer survivors to critique your play style if your a nano second longer near them when on hook (camping) or if they happen to cross your path after being unhooked even many minutes after, and you either down or pursue them(tunnelling).🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

I never said the game is balanced, just that it has been the most balanced it has ever been.
Boon totems are actually fine, even in the case of Circle of Healing, a survivor would need to go to a specific area on the map to heal up which isnt too different from finding a teammate. Since it costs time to find a totem, bless it and re-bless a totem if snuffed, I dont really see too much of an issue with the perks.
As for the nerfs to killers, I mean, Spirit has recieved new addons that would be too powerful on her old kit, and she kinda needed a nerf since skill barely was part of her kit(there was skill, but people tended to rely on fake phasing etc). Slinger wasnt really a good killer, he was just too oppressive in chase while being too weak in defending gens, he suffered from the same aspect Spirit did: coinflips. Spirit is fun to face against now, and she is barely any weaker. Any issues Spirit players have now is simply how little skill she required to "fool" a survivor. The rest of the killers have actually seen a ton of buffs: Wraith is super speedy, Clown has access to speed bottles, Plague recieved a massive buff, Trickster was altered quite well, Myers recieved quite the impactful buffs on some of his addons, Trapper is much better off now than he was before, even Billy recieved some love(not enough, but it's a start). Slinger is the only killer who recieved a nett-nerf this year, and I dont think he is quite finished yet either.
Then we have a ton of perks recieving buffs and a few recieving Nerfs, DS got nerfed, Hatch has been heavily adjusted(not finished yet, I know, but for now its okay-ish, could be better tho). Mindbreaker recieving not 1, but 2 buffs, Third Seal finally being a usable perk for a ton of killers, the list goes on.
The only 3 things that IMO need changing, are medkits, bringing items to the match and the build-up to the EGC.
I am a heavy supporter of having perks like Fire-Up being basekit since it speeds up killer actions overall as the game progresses, and I am also of the opinion that the Entity should simply consume some tiles after the final gen is done, similar to how generators are blocked, so that if certain pallets werent used up early? too bad, permalocked, some strong windows leading into each other? welp, these windows are now blocked. Also speeding up the movement speed of a killer for 1% for every gen that is finished wouldnt hurt either, leading to basically having NOED movementspeed during the endgame.
Medkits are by far the most broken item in the game, allowing you to heal anywhere on the map at regular speeds or more, making them already extremely powerful, but adding one to the match without needing to spend time to get it leads to the possibility of 3 gens being gone before you even find a single survivor.
So the change to bringing items into the match would be to add in a set of chests to the match that can only be opened by the survivor who brought the item. Causing them to need to spend some time gathering the item, rather than starting out with it.
But that's not the issue the MMR brings, I used to sink in easily 30-40 hours a week in this game, playing both killer and survivor, now that number is down to about 16-24 hours a week, only getting the archives for killer, playing survivor with friends and then simply watching youtube or playing other games. As survivor, I get screwed by showing myself early to the killer(which I normally do to grab attention and chase, but since dying is a bad thing now, I cant show myself untill someone else has been hooked if I want to face decent killers), as a killer, I get screwed by playing the game too well. In one case, I'd have to play super sweaty as solo survivor to get matches with decent teammates and decent killers. In the other case, I'd have to stand afk with Lightborn and Insidious to not play against the sweatiest survivors, who probably play that sweaty due to the fact that it's the only way to not face bad killers.
Survivors were never really rewarded for escaping, escaping wasnt the main goal for any individual survivor, having as many survivors escape as possible was the goal. So getting punished for not escaping, when 3 of your teammates do escape is the worst decision you can ever make. As for killers, well, personally I do believe getting more hooks is harder to do than getting kills, especially since perks like NOED exist. But only up to the first kill. So effectively, what you want for killers is that their skill is based around getting as many hooks as possible before their first kill and any hooks after dont really matter, while for survivors you want it to be based on their ability to chase and loop a killer.
You'd effectively no longer base the win condition on killers to get as many kills as possible, but on their ability to quickly end chases and hook survivors up untill the first kill. Which is still semi-kill based, but at least this system would hold up for all killers, not just S-tier killers, and all survivors, not just those who manage to escape. It would most likely still be quite a mess, but at least games would be much less frustrating for both sides.
Pulitzer Prize for that one mate, well argued but totally disagree with the buffs killers got particularly plague which I play a lot they were minimal at best,if your relying on add one as a killer then you will only play that killer while you have that particular add on other than the killer is back at baseline which admittedly they have slightly improved ,the new perks for spirit are useless.Again everything is subjective and down to opinion, time will tell how this game will fair,i hope the answer to that is a positive one but it’s in the hands of the developers and the court of public opinion.

It is so obvious that the developers don't care about the killer experience, despite a killer player being required for EVERY GAME.
The developers constantly talk about killers and killer perks "overperforming," but let me ask, have you every head them use that terminology on any survivors? Boons? It's absurd. Killers are gonna leave this game as soon as a better alternative arrives, which I think is soon.
Yep,the devs don’t see the car crash of their folly in not addressing the basic flaws in this game, people will leave when a viable alternative game is out there,VHS is coming soon and that may change the player demographic on here.

There are so many issues right now which are making DbD one of the most unfun games you could play currently, especially for killers. Here's a quick list of things which are adding to the dirtpile which is the killer experience right now.
- Dead Hard still being abused for distance or as Mettle of Man 2.0 due to the hit validation rework.
- Boon Totems (mostly Circle of Healing) invalidating any pressure the killer is applying. Sloppy Butcher in particular is completely worthless now.
- MMR isn't working, survivors still vastly outclass the killer in terms of rank and skill. No hope of winning.
- DDOS attacks crippling the connection of killers. I had that happen to me today, it was absolutely dreadful.
- Recent surge of hackers who keep finding new exploits just to make the game even worse.
- Too many survivor sided maps, trying to down any decent survivor will cost you 2 gens at least.
- Only a handful of viable killers, the rest is borderline unplayable against genrush squads. Nemesis for instance gives survivors an additional health state and speedburst.
Now I haven't experienced the basegame back in 2016 but I dare say we're on our way to reliving the dreadful balance of these days if the devs don't do something about the current state of killers soon. It's truly unplayable.
Agree with almost everything you say,Ddos is killing the game and the developers are more interested in pumping out cosmetics for their dress up dolls than fixing this the boon totems and MMR as there’s no money in it…

Do u want the old dbd back? Or u just got tired of dbd? Or u want something to change but u don't know urself what that change is?
Just wondering.
Personally I think the game has improved greatly since it’s release, lately however things have taken a dip, particularly with the changes to the MMR system and the introduction of boon totems which can be constantly recharged when snuffed. Some of thee nerfs/buffs to both killers and survivors were uncalled for,the developers have invested more time in cosmetics for the dress up doll characters than looking at what would improve the game or listening to players, just my thoughts but this thread was created to get a feel from the community what their thoughts were, hence the provocative title….

I disagree with this, because it's not a statement on the balance of the game, it's a statement on the MMR system.
The game is in the most balanced state it has been, EVER. The MMR just put killers who get a ton of kills against survivors who are extremely good at surviving, or extremely good at leeching off teammates and hiding all game. While the MMR puts a lot of survivors who are good, but dont really care about escaping against killers who are really bad at killing.
Effectively, 80% of the players play this game casually, while the MMR forces survivors to play competitively if they want to face players of their own caliber, or forces killers to throw games if they dont want to play against super sweaty survivors. If they reverted to the old changes, only a few people would be complaining about how frustrating the matches are.
DBD effectively needs to change the MMR from kills vs escapes towards kills vs chase. It would still raise the MMR of good survivors who effectively carried the game, but didnt escape, while it would lower the MMR of survivors who didnt do #########, but still escaped. While the killer system is actually half decent, it just seems to suck because the survivor side of MMR is broken.
Seriously, the only way for the current MMR to work properly, is to buff solo survivor with basekit aura readings and a ping system.
If me DC'ing as a survivor to turn a killer's 1k into a 0k is beneficial for my MMR so I wont face killers that are far under my caliber, then there is a problem in the MMR. I should be able to die against a bad killer while still gaining MMR if 3 teammates escape. I should be able to escape against a really good killer and not gain MMR if I am the only survivor escaping, or even lose MMR if my escape actively caused my teammates to die.
I like your argument but how do you quantify the position that the game is the most balanced it has been,i play killer/survivor equally, have played for over 5 years and the game is not balanced, boon totems and nerfs to previously good killers is killing this game.I do and will continue to play both but particularly killers are leaving or switching to survivor, because playing killer is so frustrating.

Yeah I was wanting to see the trend as-well because I used to play this game hours upon hours a week and now I’ve played it maybe a few hours the last few months. Also I’ve noticed all the people on my friends list are playing other games too. And I didn’t move onto something new and exciting I went on to try sot and totally fell in love with it. Hate the new mmr system that’s what turned me off.
hoping it’s going down and the devs do something. Better mmr system. Better balance between killer/survivors
Yep killers are a dying breed which is kind of ironic.😀

Agreed, and I understand people won't be upset unless they cared, so I didn't focus on that bit because the main focus was on keeping a perspective.
When emotion clouds judgement, things can feel much worse than they are amd it feels insurmountable. By keeping a more hopeful or rationalised mindset, it's easier to work on improving things and wprking for the betterment of the game. People tend to switch off when others start shouting or insulting or exaggerating, but factual, constructive criticism and looking to see what cam be done keeps attention.
Thank you, this was the very reason why I created this thread too engage with like minded people like your good self who do actually care enough to post on here and vis a vie care about the game and community, sometimes, small things mean a lot.👍

@Marc_go_solo said:
It's not broken, beyond repair. Granted, their needs to be some alterations, but to say the game is completely broken is grossly exaggerated.
Matches, from my perspective, are still largely unpredictable. Some matches I win and sometines I lose on both sides, and to me that's exactly what's expected. Perks and add-ons are altered periodically, and other than Boons which do need some changes.
Bugs are a problem sometimes, but largely it doesn't impact.
Overall, it's not broken beyond compare. And the idea of "balance" needs to be forgotten is favour of "fairness" - an assymetrical game can never be balanced by its very nature, but it can be taylored to give every player a chance at success.
To be fair most people in this thread agree with you in some sense but their is a consensus that some elements of the game need reworked.Survivor queue times have lengthened unite a bit while killer queue times have shortened, and their seems to be a feeling that tpsome of the killer community re leaving or switching to survivor bourne out of frustration. The devs need to look at the reasons why and address these issues.Imhave played this game since it was released and in the recent past was vastly better than it was on release but in the last year or so this has been reversed and the game seems to be in a bad place comparatively.I’m sure everyone who has contributed to this and similar threads do so not out of malice but because they genuinely care about the game.

Boon totems are making killer games absolutely miserable when they’re abused. Circle of healing is absolutely broken, the fact that I can hit someone while carrying a survivor and they be healed up ready to unhook said survivor in a instant. I really hope they go down the road of making boons a limited use like Hex’s, having 3-4 survivors be able to activate a boon totem each and having to snuff out 4 of them wastes so much time and they can just bless it again when they please.
Think they need to address this soon,it is the biggest single bone of contention with killers and even some survivors.

On how the system doesn't work cause it's total garbage for killers.
The system is so garbage that my 10 hours nurse end up being matched against full squad of 4000 hours surv. Why ? Because i have won my last 8 games against barely average survivors.
But well, honestly, give me one thing that BHVR implemented and was good ?
- servers should have been the best of the world = they are terrible, ping fluctuates all the way everytime
- MMR should give fair trials = everything is unfair
- they promised to fix performance issues 6 months ago = never fixed
- they aim for bringing more balance to the game = they bring boons and MMR
- they brought crossplay to increase the playerbase = they mixed two communities that clearly have a huge huge skill level disparity
- they buffed the nurse and nerfed Pinhead
- update the game with a huge breach allowing IP leaks
All this in 2 years, maybe 3...
DbD has been a game with constant complaints for years now. I have never seen a game with so many complaints. Maybe R6S before the Operation health but still it was not so much on so many subjects...
Totally agree with everything you stated,it has been a steady drip drip drip eroding the play in this game for years now with the blame being sat squarely with the developers, they prefer investing money cheaply into coding cosmetics for players than fixing or improving the game, whilst charging people for the privilege. That stupid witch survivor and boon totems are a perfect example of cheaply and easily changing the game at the expense of fairness and detrimental to the quality of the game.BHVR clearly don’t take cognisance to the content of these forums or they would see this game is headed for disaster if they don’t fix it and soon, especially with a couple of similar games awaiting release.

Yep The Plague does take a bit of practise, especially with purge targeting, but worth sticking with even though you will go through a good few matches with 0 k.One of the main advantages with plague is that being so rare to come across a lot of players have issues countering her,it’s a good feeling having a whole team fully infected especially early in the game as it slows down their progression having to find divine pools to cleanse.

Im a survivor main but I enjoy killer more and more.
I need your help because I dont know who to pick next, I want advices and some people stories playing these killers.
Im a Clown main, I think I am a pretty good Clown. I know how to play with M1 killers.
Then I play Legion, I like their playstyle even if they are frustrating sometimes, bdcause you cant down survivors with your power.
And my third main is Nemesis. The first M2 killer I main. It was difficult for me but I really like him now.
Now I want to prestige a fourth killer.
I played Ding-Ding. He is fun, I could be good with practice, but I already play two M1 killer, should I play another ?
I tried Pyramid. I love Silent Hill. But for me its just a slow Nemesis. Now that I am decent with Nemesis, should I try Pyramid again ?
I love Oni. He is good looking, great power. M1 killer at the beginning but when I have my power I feel realllllyyy strong. The only problem I have with Oni are survivors pre dropping pallets. It takes so long to get your first hits and get your power 😕 should I play a killer so easy countered ?
And The Twins. I tried the Twins and I cant say they are bad. They are so evil strong. But the lack of good cosmetics makes me wonder if I should or should not buy them.
I tried Plague and Cenobite too, but I I think they are too difficult for me now. Is Plague a good choice since the rework ?
Any other ideas ?
Dont say "play what you like" I like all the killer I said, I will prestige all of them one day, I just need to know which one is the next 😊
Definitely stick with Plague, takes a bit to master but worth investing the time into.I personally haven’t seen much of a change since the rework.Spirit is also good but has lost a bit of its shine since last rework.

For the people who are having a horrible time playing killer right now: does it simply mean that you don't enjoy playing at a (presumably) high MMR? The new system is simple enough that you can easily lower your MMR (yes, it will take time if you have a very high MMR, but still...), so why do you want to keep playing at a high MMR? It seems like self-torture for no reason. I guarantee you could get your MMR down to a point where you have much more fun matches, while still keeping it interesting.
Well put mate, but shouldn’t that be a developer issue to fix.

This makes no sense. Even if few players left (I don't know any), overall player count is rising. Game is far away from being dead.
The figures may tell their own story but I have played this game for over 5 years and although It has had its ups and downs the issues eventually got addressed the game became more balanced it was relaxed and enjoyable for both killer and survivors, queue times were at most around 5 mins for both sides even during quieter times,by comparison based on todays playing,I played two games as survivor 1st game queue time 9mins,play time just under 5 mins with all gens done exit gate open and all out,2nd game queue time just over 10 mins, game time just over 4 with 3 of us getting the gate escape.I then played 2 games as killer and got into games almost immediately, first game was a 1k which lasted approx 5 mins2nd was a 3k with one getting the hatch game lasted 7 mins. The experience as survivor was boring particularly the first game as hardly saw the killer and just m1’d gens.As killer the first game was frustrating as they had the gens done in lightning fast time, both maps were on the larger side and gen control was near on impossible was playing plague and only slow down was ruin.BHVR have to do something quickly and invest in making the game fairer, balanced and a more rewarding experience for players instead of investing in cosmetics for their dress up dolls.

There's definitely balance issues, and I understand your frustrations all too well, but nothing's gonna change for a long time.
They work around statistics and the casual audience, most of which won't even enter these forums. Just check the views for each thread here. How many views? Couple hundred? Compared to the many tens of thousands of players every day, we're a drop in the ocean.
Their balancing methods work too, as much as I hate to admit it.
As long as they keep attracting new people and retaining their casual audience by creating a good friendly experience for them the game will stay pretty lively. That also means more money for more content.
I'm actually pretty certain if they balanced for the more experienced players, they'd kinda shoot themselves in the foot. Balancing based on ranks could be good, but there's no real financial incentive to do it.
---
My advice is to let loose a bit on expectations.
Accept this game will never be competitive and think of it as more of a casual party game than anything.
Then you can start enjoying all the jokes it has to offer instead of dwelling on them.
As you can see from the tone of my opening remarks,my idea of playing this game was routed firmly to have a fun experience,as I stated never was a try hard or expected to survive every game or be a 4K as killer, the point made by me and lots in the community is the fairness/balancing and the concentration by BHVR to invest their time into pointless cosmetics which I understand, cheap and easy to code and a money tree, instead of concentrating on the in game issues. There may only be a fraction of players on these forums but it is a good litmus test to the broader feelings of players across the community. For me personally I have pretty much given up borne out of frustration and boredom which is a great shame s have played this game for over 5 years.

As a killer main, I have never wanted to give up on this game until now. I wont, but I really want to.
Killer is not fun anymore, survivors have their wins almost given to them on a silver platter. Currently every game I play now is so dull and boring, it's pre drop after pre drop after pre drop with no mind games, no looping, nothing. Just pre drop and hold w. And considering the killer I main is Billy, who already isn't the strongest, this hurts him even more.
At this point for a killer to win, ie get a 3 or 4k, you have to play in scummy ways, by either tunneling someone out of the game, camping, or slugging everyone. Which isn't fun. The worst part is even the scummy strategies aren't even that viable anymore with the release of boons and new perks. You know how hard it is to slug when COH is up? COH almost eliminates all snowball potential by itself. Holding W is already the strongest thing you can do, so now the devs are making it worse by releasing overcome, which gives you 40s of pure free distance. If you commit to that chase, unless you're Nurse or Blight, you will lose the game then and there.
Not to mention the terrible map design, big maps are bad maps, and the devs seem to want to releases big map after big map, the new map is huge, which isn't what the game needs.
Accompany this with the meta of dead hard, bt, ds, coh, the killer has so little to utilize in their favor.
I've only actively gotten mad at this game today, I have never gotten this angry in my 4 years of playing this game.
This game needs some changes, fast, we need
- Better map design
- A boon change (For example, make it where if you snuff a boon you destroy the totem, limiting the use of a boon to 5 times and making players try to utilize them less frequently but more impactfully)
- A overhaul to the overcome perk entirely
- Making holding W not as strong and/or give us killers who aren't effected as strongly by it
Yep I play both killer and survivor, killer now is frustrating to the point I don’t play killer much any more and survivor is becoming boring as the game is tilted towards us,there are very few decent killers out there playing anymore,I put the blame firmly in the court of the BHVR,they care more about players buying new skins for the dress up dolls than fixing the balancing and playability of this game they have to fix it very soon as people will get bored and simply stop playing,I have posted similar thoughts on other threads and have had the well stop playing,,that is narrow minded and moronic, simply put I did really enjoy playing this game in the past when it was fairly balanced and challenging, but it is broken

For the last few days, i have noticed a huge decrease in the skill level of the killers i face even though i don't rank down MMR wise as i'm winning 70% of the trials. And of course, every day it's getting worst...
Do you experience the same thing ?
My queue times are really long, around 10 minutes during the evening, and ye, average killers now. I rarely see a good one.
Yep I think you’ve hit the nil on the head,I play killer/survivor in equal, measures.I have noticed queue times as survivor have become painfully long in the last few weeks whereas you get into a game almost immediately as killer. After talking with some friends who play killer only, they have either switched to survivor only or quit the game entirely. There is a feeling amongst some killers in the community that the game has swung to far in favour of the survivor due to recent nerfs for killers and buffs for survivors, boon totems have had a large play in this.I personally don’t have a huge issue with this but it is having an impact on the game.BHVR need to do something drastic and soon or this game will go down the tubes which will be a great shame to a once really good game, many on here will disagree with my points but I honestly am just telling at as I see it out there.

God no. The game is not "Kumbaya Simulator". Do this as killer if you want, but "rewarding" it..... May as well change all the killers into characters from The Care Bear Movie.
😂😂😂

I personally don't think there should. The game acknowledging it or rewarding it would lead to entitlement. So any killers who... kill everyone will be seen as an unkind person even though they are just doing their objective.
Yep get that totally, just garnering opinion on limiting the toxicity this game seems to be producing, good point though.👍

I had an idea for a killer that may be a bit op, but I wanted to try and make a unique ability and a new type of killer perk
Marcus Shroud was a cultist, not by choice but by force, having to do terrible acts for him to stay alive, but when he was sacrificed to the God of the cult, he was given a chance of a new life as it's new God, now he hunts survivors who try to deny his beliefs
His ability, "Torrents of Belief," allows him to cut off routes for chases or to set traps, when a survivor goes through the water or steps in the active range of a watery tablet (the trap version for out of chase), they are put in a mental struggle to try and stay heretical, skill checks will appear more and also when not doing skill check actions that must be successful or they'll be revealed but will show nearby survivors and objects such as pallets and chest, the skill checks get harder as time goes on, similar to the hook struggling skill check system. Survivors will need to show faith and find an alter and praise it to let them be free of the struggle, but this grants a small boost to the leviathan that allows him to move faster, and be more devious with his power.
For perks he has.
Siren's Cry; No one takes what's your's and gets off easy.
If a survivor interacts with a totem or a chest in a range of 12/24/36 meters, you get a notification and see their aura for 3/4/5 seconds
Hex: Crying Pities; The fear that fills them before you fils you with hatred
When a survivor is hit with your basic attack, gain a token, up to a maximum of 3 tokens. When a survivor is hooked, use all your tokens for a stackable 10 meter range, that will cause survivors in range to mumble in fear, making them easier to find until the person who was hooked is healed or a new survivor is hooked
Devout: Ritual of Sorrows; your yearn for your work despite hardships has been acknowledged by the entity.
When you are stunned, blinded, or lose a survivor during chase, the entity will feel your anger, eventually blocking off certain measures of escape for the survivor who did these outrageous acts.
The perks and power allow the Cultist to take control of the situation, and force survivors into spots where he can easily take them for sacrifice.
Your idea is pretty good, joking aside.👍

Killer idea the big daft dinosaur/ alien or whatever it is from VHS.
Perk: You don’t need to play this unbalanced nonsense.😂😂😂

That's how I play and I have fun playing like that.
Then again, my ego isn't so inflated that someone squatting at the exit gate with a dress-up doll, sends me into a blind rage either.
Love that quote dress up doll, pmsl.Puts it in perspective adults getting tilted at essentially cartoon characters. If you need to vent play as plague and vile purge them repeatedly while on the hook.🤮😀😂

Every match for the last 3 weeks the Killer camps and or tunnels,
its getting to the point that don't want to play anymore.tunneling and camping has gotten way out of hand.
it was bad when it was 2 or 3 times a night, but every game, something has to be done about this.it so dis hearting when you get only 6000 blood points in a match. its even worse when play a bloodly party streamer and then get tunneled and killed off before you even touch a generator,
fix the game before you lose popularity of your game to toxic players
I have played this game since release and have played killer/survivor equally since then. The game has gone through highs and lows in that time but it has titled recently in favour of survivors and the last big update featuring boon totems are a bridge to far for some killer mains they feel disadvantaged and I believe this is how they justify tunnelling/camping particularly at the start of the game to “even” the odds as they see it.I personally don’t think it’s a healthy or fun way to play from both sides of the fence.IMO it’s the developers to blame they have chased the money in favour of properly thought out improvements, replacing boon totems with a proximity penalty for camping would have been a better idea.Tunnelling is a different issue but that has been addressed in the past with various perks and can be countered with good gameplay.
Bhvr updated with boon totems and a new character which wasn’t free, they are now releasing a character which can counter boon totems which again isn’t free, all done to the detriment of gameplay and encouraging toxic behaviour. This needs to be addressed and soon or we will be stuck in an endless cycle of toxicity ultimately resulting in people leaving especially with a couple of similar games lurking round the corner.

The way survivor mains talk about boons it's like they're under the impression that killers can see the same blue radius they do to just estimate the center until the chiming gives it away. It's nothing like that.
Killers don't have any visual & that audio beacon doesn't cover even half the AOE. Besides, not everyone plays using the same audio setup, or headphones at all--especially console players.
Personally? I can barely hear those #########. Maybe its the frequency, maybe its my settings, or maybe it's just my age, but--basically--I've got to be standing right on the bastards to locate them. The 2+ story maps are that much worse. (For the record, I actually do play with headphones & digital surround on as well. They aren't the best or anything, but still.)
Y'know, if the killer actually could see that same blue area-of-effect like survivors do (just minus the totem highlighted) then maybe it would provide the whole "takes time to place, but you just walk up & smoosh!" narrative people keep claiming exists... and keep citing as the defining feature making boons balanced in the first place,,
Well okay if that's why boons are balanced, lets have it...
Its a hell of a lot less punishing to people with hearing difficulties too.
Also the sound on multi level maps can be frustrating as it sounds the same proximity wise while playing killer if you are below or above it.

yes i did make a threat about leaving the game but i legit want more people to know how stupidly broken this bullshit is
Yep agree,I play killer/survivor equally and find as survivor the games are less challenging and sometimes boring and as killer frustrating and unfair. In the past I defended the nerfs/buffs on both sides but boons have tipped the balance in favour of survivors.I have noticed that while playing killer I am immediately matched with a team of survivors the majority of the time but with survivor I am waiting upwards of 10 minutes.A number of my friends are killer mains and have simply stopped as it has transcended from being fun to being a headache. Most including me never really cared whether we had a 4K,1k anywhere in between or even a 0k as long as the game was fun and fair.In respect of this BHVR have managed to remove these elements while making it unchallenging and boring for the survivor players. With two similar games waiting in the wings BHVR better address this soon or they will be the architects of their own demise.

Are you new here because thats not how bhvr works
Totally boon totems were essentially brought out so they could cash cow on that stupid witch character.BHVR is after all a one trick pony and they have to go where the money is,this new killer will be op to begin with, again for sales, then they will bring out a survivor to counter it again sales, and so the merry go round spins, but only if we buy into it…….
-
Boon totems are in there current state op,I play both killer and survivor equally and think it gives a huge advantage for survivors, someone here argued that if a totem is a one use only perk if it is destroyed by the killer the perk is a wasted perk, what about killers who use and play with a hex build, with a good team this can be useless in minutes with no way back.It is upsetting the balance in the game.A lot survivors will go on about face camping and tunnelling ruining the game there are easy ways round both however boon totems have tilted the game too far.Probably just a cash grab by BHVR to sell that stupid witch with circle of healing perk.It will no doubt be buffed but when,a better change would have to introduced a proximity penalty for face campers under the right conditions.Boons need fixed and quickly.
-
It does happen but usually only for the survivor to end the game when there are to many gens still going and his team is already downed, sacrificed or hooked.I will usually give this survivor the hatch.

Nope still plenty of killers queue time for me are 5-10 min at the least
Try playing killer usually no wait time in queues, whereas in the past used to average about 5 mins, shortage of killers?
-
It a a pity what the devs did to Deathslinger I think they forget that people have invested time effort and sometimes actual money into their chosen character. When playing survivor used to play against Deathslinger on a regular basis, don’t think I have came across one since nerf so I guess that feelings about him amongst players that used him are pretty universal.

Survivor is boring and easy in my opinion, especially paired with SWF. Yeah Killer is certainly more frustrating but atleast you're not tied down to holding a button for the majority of the match.
Yep,well said.
