I like NOED, and that's from both sides. As a Killer it's a fun perk to take out and use it to turn the tide in the same way keys can for survivor, and as a survivor it's effectively like squaring off against a final boss and requires more cautiousness. It gets the adrenaline pumping!
NOED is also a high-risk/high-reward perk for a Killer. Its only use is at the end, and if the lit totem appears right in front of a survivor then that perk slot was for nothing. Like Adrenaline or No One Left Behind, it's a spot-specific perk which offers a high reward, but handicaps the player up to that point with one less slot.

All opinions are important. Perhaps that person needs to feel that because they are severally lacking in many other aspects of their life, so they feel the need to make the PC so important. Really, narrow-minded beliefs like theirs are the ones which no longer have a place at the table.
-
First of all, may I congratulate you on decimating a SWF company! It's so satisfying, right?
Secondly, so long as you played within the rules, there is nothing they can do. It's just them nursing their self-entitled pride. It'll come to nowt, and simply leave them with a bad taste in their mouth, knowing that despite the obvious advantage, they couldn't win and they'll have to accept they're worse than they thought.
-
Best advice I can offer is be unpredictable. Act erratically. Try to throw them off any pattern. For example, with Pyramid Head use the fact you know which gens are available to separate the survivors using those cages, but also do some random hooks when you have the option to do otherwise.
Mix your perks a bit as well and feel free to experiment. I never choose my perks when I play. They change every match using a randomizer, which then brings about perks they never expected, and it teaches different tactics to play with.
Ultimately, the best thing to do is just have fun with the game! Pretend to be the killer! As nurse, I even sway her from side to side whilst moving about, as if she's hanging. I set my own goal to go for. Mess around and don't play to sweat. It is jist a game afterall, and no amount of teabagging will affect anyone's daily life, and no amount of salt will actually do anything regarding anything outside of the game.
-
I'd be fine with these, and those improvements may make Demi appear more often, which considering its one of my favourite killers to face shall be very welcome!
-
Killer's a lot of fun to play, and despite the few matches I have versus more toxic squads, it's a lot more enjoyable than being a survivor with other survivors that can be unpredictable and not always that helpful. At least with a killer, you know where you stand, but survivors - it's like a box of chocolates, with one or two turds wrapped up for good measure.
-
Treat the game as an experimental playground: Mess around with different builds and styles. Even get into character, which in turn can leap into chats afterwards, so if you get any negative comments reply in character! Especially fun as Killer!
Also, remember that no matter what anyone chooses to say to you, they have issues which have led them there. Whether they're bitter or bullying, it's due to an insecurity or issue they have. So, whether by being kind, logical, inquisitive or even just analytical, never bring your emotions in during those types of chats. Or, if you think you might, just ignore, block and move on.
Overall, enjoy, have fun and keep optimistic! And focus on your own fun. Even if that means making your own set of rules in game, never expect to play by others.
-
I think the devs are doing something about the start of the game to stop the early rush. Making the gens longer - especially by 50% - would be too much. Maybe a slight increase may work, but I'd much prefer a new mechanic to freshen the game.
-
I think the Mummy could hold more potential. Would it unleash scarabs to attack? Use a lot of totem perks as curses? Create a power as a curse itself? Even teleport via sand? There's a lot of potential in a mummy.
-
She could have an ability where her speed could be as slow as the survivors, but have a passive ability which - when she is viewed - the survivor slows down. Or alternatively have an ability with the same mechanic as Ghostface when a prompt is made if she's being looked at, and by pressing an action button can slow them down at a faster rate, but doesn't happen passively.
-
It was a very clever play by Bubba, similar to the AFK Myers games I've seen online. He saw a decent opportunity and took it. As a Killer, they're meant to be the bad guy, and in WWE the greatest heel-turns are the least expected and add so much fun drama!
As a side note, I admire OP honesty and humility in this. Unlike the other survivors, you'll be the one to improve most. Keep up the good attitude!
-
Can't do any harm, but it wouldn't be a feature I'd use. Wouldn't be against the idea though.
But as some are doing the thumb-up thing, well .. you know what? Thumbs up all round!!

As someone who’s half Japanese Italian and Hawaiian believe me I make errors in any language.
The fact you probably speak many languages still leaves you far more qualified than I and a lot of others, so I wouldn't woorry about it :)
-
Brang is actually the past tense of "bring", not "brought", which is already past tense :p.
Seriously though, I agree with you completely. People make little errors when they type! Heck, listen to how people speak and you'll discover many errors grammatically! Just because someone decided to look for an error doesn't make them superior. It just means that person who spelt something wrong spelt it wrong. It does not make them stupid.
Yeah, ignore those idiots. And feel free to ignore my first paragraph too!
-
Simplest wany to look at it is to compare it to a football match: If you are subbed on with 2 mins to go and score the winning goal, the fa t you were on for the least time doesn't mean you were the worst. Likewise, if you had the least bloodpoints, but took down that NOED totem, or took a protective hit for that newly unhooked guy in his struggle mode who then goes on to do the gen, save another, etc., then you're equally as important as without that one action, others that folow may mever have happened.
-
It used to be the DC ones, but since the dc punishments and realising we can still survive on 3 it's the ones who needlessly unhook right in front of the Killer. I can understand a last second save when in the struggle phase, but if not at least wait until the terror radius goes. I'm not going anywhere!
-
I'm still absolutely bewildered about this Killer being a "tunneler" when his power makes him the absolute worst Killer to tunnel with! I've also not come across a single Pyramid Head who has tunneled. Doesn't mean there are those who don't try to tunnel, but I'm wondering how realistic this complaint actually is. As in is he somehow the best Killer to tunnel with with a power that completely goes against tunneling? Or is his ability to disrupt the meta ruffling a lot of feathers, and a nerf may make it viable to stick with the same tried and tested formula?
-
The best thing you'll hopefully notice in your statement is by acknowledging your weaknesses, you have actually empowered yourself.
By being toxic to others, you give then the power. You make them the reason for the losses, and because it's them you have inadvertedly made yourself believe there is nothing you can do to get better results - it's solely down to those who beat you.
By accepting your flaws, you have now acknowledged that you can get better results through self-improvement. Now you can focus on being a better killer because no longer do you give yourself the impression that others are solely responsible for your misfortune.
It's a really brave thing to be honest about and you should be rightfully applauded! It's why I always say any killer is a top-tier killer; it doesn't matter to me whether that is correct or not, but it makes me want to get better to prove this to myself.
Seriously, kudos op! I hope you start slaughtering those survivors soon enough.
-
The news is all rather murky. One source states a soft reboot is coming, but not until the PS5 release, whilst an earlier source from Konami said nothing is planned. However, it would be unusual for this chapter to be granted by Konami if they felt that they wouldn't gain from this, so perhaps this was them getting a feel for the current market.
I'd wager a Silent Hill game for the next gen is being planned, and there maybe a demo before then. There is also a clip on YouTube you may be interested in:
https://youtu.be/PnnydP5GCcUThere are some severe doubts over the authenticity of this clip, and currently until Konami officially unveil something concrete I wouldn't know which way to jump.

Yeah its the splitting up. When survivors do that the only effective way Ive found to counter it reliably is to drag someone in the basement and hope theyre altruistic.
Im with the people that say extending the gen time directly is a bad call. I think holding m1 for 80 seconds is already boring enough. The game is in dire need of secondary objectives. Ive heard a few good ideas but the 2 I like the most are:
The number generators that can be actively worked on is equal to tge number of totems that have been broken until only 3 gens remain, tgen all of them can be worked on. 2 totems should be easy to find, 2 should be medium difficulty to find, 1 should be hard to find.
The other is the map is split into 4 quarters. For each quarter there is a lever, pulling the lever activates the generators in that quarter. No one quarter should have 3 gens (to prevent the killer from camping the best lever) and pulling a lever should take 20 to 30 seconds. Once a section has been activated survivors should be notified that gens in that area are ready, but the killer should not be.
Out of those 2 ideas, the 2nd one really does strike me as a fun idea! It gives an extra objective for survivors to do.
The reason I prefer that over 1 is that the game really needs some more diversity in game play options, and just working on totems is pretty much what survivors do already.
I like the idea of adding something new and challenging into the mix!
-
It's a lovely idea! I'd be a little concerned of some players in SWF may spam that button just to get an achievement or something along those lines, but if that can be bypassed or addressed, yeah!
A reward for action promotes better responses than punishing an action, so with some tweaks ... it may work.
-
Gen tapping really does squat now, since a killer just needs to listen to gen progression, or have a peek. I can't believe someone gen taps on ruin now! They'd be there for the whole damn round!
-
Killers are only as good as their players. If a player is excellent, then Bubba or Legion or any "lower tier" killer can be a nightmare for survivors of all ranks.
Whether Tru3Talent proves it or not, it'll only prove he can make the Killer work. Others may have trouble with him, but be experts at others.
The good thing about this though is that it will dismiss the idea of some that Bubba is crap, and may make people re-evaluate the potential in killers as a whole.
-
Par for the course, I'm affraid! They're working on a fix with new match-making, but it's unknown when this will become readily available. It won't be based on rank though.

I've done this a few times, varying results, few apologize, just wanted at least one kill, most either didn't care or were well aware they were being toxic, even saying "I wanted to ruin your experience" most of the time it's "Last group was really toxic so I...." Then it's just an endless cycle at that point
Yeah, I get that. I might have been lucky, and if I were that lucky it may at least change a few minds about how they approach the game. In time, it could rub off on more, and maybe behaviours will gradually shift. If it becomes a cycle of anger that just gets bigger then nothing will change. If a few cogs choose to work differently, then maybe it'll make a change, no matter how small.
-
They're just kids with butt hurt feelings. It's seriously mad that they can become so incensed over one round.
Besides, despite their comments on you only getting 2K, maybe they should look at themselves as SWF and wonder why only 2 got out with their all-seeing communication at red rank.

I never tried DBD on Xbox my neighbor gave me her Xbox a few weeks ago.
That was nice of them! PS4 and XBOX ONE would probably work best together once cross-compatability is up and running, considering sensitivity amd controls would be very similar.

I thought I was the only person that did that on ps4😂.
I'm actually Xbox, but I can't imagine they'd be that different. It's just more relaxing, really! Plus, the controller is thankful for a nicer treatment :D
-
Both work, actually! I've found doing it in a circle seems slightly more effective, but that's probably a placebo effect - I recon they're the same.
-
Silent Hill: The Room is my favourite, as it's been the only game that, when released, has ever made me feel true horror in games. Even releases like Outlast or Alien:Isolation have not given me that sense of real horror that game did.
There are a lot I like, but special mention goes to the lesser-known game "The Cat Lady". That game had a lot of horror in it, and approached some very dark themes such as cancer, suicide and depression with such delicacy, without watering it down.
-
Nice work! Keep that positive mentality up and you'll get even better against even tougher opponents!

If I remember correctly they confirmed AA toggle and "more" but haven't specified what exactly. Maybe someone remembers better.
My hope:
- AA toggle
- Vsync toggle
- Proper resolution settings
- Shadow settings
- Volumetric fog/lightning toggle (my biggest hope, this one gave me 40+% more fps)
Thank you for the details :).
-
Did they say which settings were being added?
-
I think this shows the overwhelming disgrace of the survivor classes, and how poorly the slum "killer" is treated. How are these poor souls gonna etch out a living with such prejudice? Where would they be moved to? Are they going to be compensated for loss of earnings and accommodation?
And by the way, "killers" is such a negative connotation! I'd prefer "morally challenged"
-
The Stranger Things chapter is a good buy, mainly because it's the only one with 2 survivors, which also have some decent perks to try out! Demi is also a fun and very animalostic killer to try, so it'll offer some good variety.
-
I've seen an increase in key usage as well. The key can be used before the last gen is done, and can completely flip a match from a Killer-dominated one into a barely-escapable black pip for the Killer.
Whether this is in response to NOED or what made the increase in that perk's usage I'm uncertain.
-
A few classic Silent Hill memes for you:
-
There are varied reasons, as have been discussed earlier here. Mainly, it feels to me that the primary concerns are how quickly a co-ordinated team can smash out gens, and the toxic play of a minority of 10 year olds.
Aren't BHVR creating some sort of start game occurrence which will aim to give The Killer a better start?
Also, I still feel a secondary mode where people can compete for higher prizes, in return for having their perks randomized and no SWF would be beneficial. They can be accessed by a new currency gathered in game in the current mode, thereby adding an extra objective to that. Then maybe the original version will feel more worth it, regardless of what happens.

Myers is meant to be the embodiment of absolute evil, and that might be too much for The Entity to control. Myers may be too weak to do anything to The Entity, but he's pretty much of free will within.
Pyramid Head is more a creation of emotion than human. Not only that, but the magic within Silent Hill seems to be very tough for The Entity to handle (even to create Midwich, giant chains are hammered into place in the courtyard in an effort to secure this power).Pyramid also made an agreement, rather than was taken. He also damages The Entity with torment. He's powerful enough to cast judgement without The Entity.
Although, there is an argumwnt to be said that these powers both hold are given by The Entity as its "favourites". Although I like to think The Executioner is still too powerfull.

I have a few:
1. No face-camping at any point.
2. If there is a hook rescue and I see both the hooked and unhooker, I always chase the unhooker. If I see the hooked only, I will down them, but not rehook. Maybe use them as bait, but ultimately they won't be rehooked.
3. With 2-1 gens remaining, I would consider all survivors have had a decent daffy and will resume relentless slaughter. No face-camping or tunneling, but if you're unhooked them and I see you, you're going back on.
4. Tea-bagging and clicky-dicky will be met with aggressive indifference. You're all meat; you're all equal regardless.
5. Impressive survivor plays (1 time a survivor sabo'd 2 hooks to save a survivor I was carrying!) may be rewarded with the hatch.
6. Once all gens are done, there will be no nicities. If my randomizer gives me NOED, there will be no guilt. If I slug, there will be no guilt.
7. I will chase all out who I cannot get. Regardless of Teabagging Tosspots and Clicky Dickies, it means nothing. I just want to get to my next round.
And most importantly:
8. ALWAYS be nice at the end. Even if someone is being a dick post-game, I'll explain my end, ignore or joke with them. Toxicity breeds toxicity, and I'd rather pass on a fresher atmosphere.

Demo is confirmed to be male, he is a good boy after all
Dang it! Damn you Demi and your not-so-obvious reproductive system!!!
-
I genuinely don't believe NOED needs any changes. Once gens are powered, open the gates and get out. Sometimes, survivors faff around to tease the killer and this perk punishes that. When I know NOED is on, I'll do a totem hunt. The Killer rarely goes to defend it, especially since all the meat is vulnerable.
Reworking NOED would bring calls to rework BT and Adrenaline, and then things would just get messy. Leave 2nd chance perks as is - it adds a chaotic, unpredictable element amd punishes the cocky on both sides.
-
That guy's just another bitter, outplayed idiot who can't take responsibility for his own ineptitude. Leave him to whine in his salty jar of tears.
-
Somedays, it's a toss up as to whether uninstalling the game would be enough for them or not! Those particular survivors would probably be offended even then!
Play as you like to, but I am glad to see op is laughing at this. That's a great attitude to take! :)
-
Some players tend to not want to take a step back and analyse what's happened. It's that immediate sense of gratification they desire. The anger instilled from one crappy match carries on to the point they just wanna rage or "bully" others because they feel offended by what's happened to them.
It would be great if people take that step back from a gaming session if things have gone to the dogs, and attempt to understand what really happened. It's absolutely fine to feel angry, but to just pass this on doesn't shift the sense. Merely temporarily placates it, until it emerges because nothing has been learned.
Everyone has nightmare rounds. Just take a breath. And bravo to the op for bringing this up. Great topic!

Out of the big names, Resi is probably high on the list. But there are plenty of games which could also work, like The Last of Us. Amongst them could include:
Bioshock
Outlast
The Evil Within
Alan Wake
F.E.A.R
Haunting Grounds
Clocktower
The Cat Lady
And then, beyond those examples, you could have games not strictly survival or horror, which may fit into the scheme:
Tomb Raider
Green Hell
Darkwood
Life Is Strange
Heavy Rain
Deadly Premonition
Fahrenheit
Uncharted
-
I suppose those twitching cadaver things at Midwich could be classified as another type of Entity-created life, as well as the vultures at the saloon.
-
Agreed. Also, maybe some more male survivors. The last 3 chapters had female survivors, so it may be nice to reverse the roles next time.
Could we even get an unknown sex, like Demi was!
-
I've laughed at myself several times for mindgaming myself - one time I ended up looking like a dog chasing its tail, only the find the survivor teabagging from a hill a fair way a way looking at me (in that instance I fully deserved it!).
-
There are people out there who are entitled - not just in game, but in life. Everyone holds a set of standards or principles to adhere to, but some have higher expectations on others and little for themselves. Some have been given everything they've asked for, whilst others have grafted for it. Some are easily offended, because of their expectations.
Those toxic people all share a feeling of inadequacy and entitlement. There's a lot of stuff on this out there, but in terms of this game it's the same: Someone believes they should get the hatch because "they deserve it". Another feels that they were bullied when their hardcore tunneling act resulted in failure. Those people don't want to think of this as "just a game" - it needs to be a statement, because admitting otherwise lessens their feelings of self-worth. It's important to them.
But this is just a game. It's meant to be fun, with competitive action during the game and decent behaviour before and after the trial. Nothing wrong in being as good as you can be. Everything wrong if you want to be superior to others on something as trivial as a game.
