He's not as common now, but from my games it's no different than any new killer I have faced before. The map however has not come up that often - not as much as expected for me.
What is disappointing though is no Robbie the Rabbits! I'd love to see how those lil' buggers get on!
-
All killers (with perhaps the exception of Bubba, and even then I might be wrong) have as much potential to be creative as the player who is willing to play them.
Pyramid Head can be extremely tactical, once you learn you don't have to draw long trenches. Put smaller trenches or even little "pot holes" in tactical places. Use the cages to manipulate where survivors go. Use his blast to go through walls; corridors; etc.
This is only the tip of what Pyramid Head can do, and with perks or play styles it can still be destructive. Experiment. Don't aim to "win" those matches, but try out new, inventive ways of defeating survivors.
-
I can empathise with OP. The penultimate game I played I managed to get 2 survivors hooked on hooks close to each other, and knowing bait would come I observed from a way back to see them as they ran for the save. Sure enough, Cheryl charge in, so I pounced on her. I don't tunnel, so when she managed to free one, I downed her, let the other go and hooked her. At the end, Bitter Murmur gave her position away and she was taken down swiftly. Afterwards, I get the comment "Uninstall Camper".
From their position I can understand, but with 2 hooked close by it makes no sense to just leave them be, especially with 2 gens to go. I waited at a safe distance and only targeted the saviour. Other killers would not have let the one who was unhooked go quite so easily, as would be their right.
Basically, it's worth considering both sides before getting salty. Some killers deserve it, although it is in the rules, but others get a bad rap. This is what happens in tactical situations, and mistakes or baiting are there to be taken advantage of.
-
If anything, having Pyramid Head tunnel is the wrong way to play him, as essentially his main power is by disrupting the survivors, sending them to the far reaches to force survivors into a specific area. Namely map-control. Tunnelling with him completely defeats the very purpose he was brought in!
Send someone to a cage and walk all the way across the map to tunnel that same guy ... that's just a terrible state of play! I'm only guessing this happens because people don't fully understand him, or their playstyle is not suited to his power.
Confuse - Control - Conquer
-
It is brutal. The friendly vulture has given way to the whiny corpse. Just because they have to re-live their deaths over and over doesn't mean they have to make a song or dance of it!
Seriously, it is a survival horror game, so in that it's fine, but likewise people may not be ready to expect that more extreme horror imagery. I'd be fine if they were just hanging. No qualms this end if they were made to be still.
-
If they find most of their player base won't buy it, it would make sense for them to reduce it. It is high, and I've not purchased it, but in the end it's about how people want to spend their money and how much joy they feel they receive upon collecting such items. Maybe once the dust has settled and BHVR total up how many were purchased they may reconsider.
-
A real protest against the price of it would quite simply be not to purchase it. The tunnelling does nothing to stop people because everyone knows this will die down and a new obsession for the angry mob will take its place. It's a fad that will go.
As it stands it's less a protest and more of I "Well if I can't have nice things then you can't either". Sparks of jealousy.
-
It's just a juvenile phase. It'll pass and the tunnelling will focus on others, or some other dull fad will surpass it.
-
The map is a maze, but being less than 2 full days in it may take longer to adjust to. I'm giving it the benefit of a doubt, although at the same time it is rather bamboozling!
At the same time, when I'm not being stalked by a very persistent Pig (not salty at all :D) it's fun to see lots of little Easter Eggs and hidden nooks and crannies.
-
I think it's the refrain from Silent Hill 2, which has since been spliced into other songs in different Silent Hill games, like "Your Rain" from Silent Hill: The Room.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=56lWd1m3a5wIt starts around 0.23.
-
To be honest, Pyramid Head could be a very creative killer! Maybe make just small cuts of torment instead of one long one to act as mini snares around corners of loops. Pyramid isn't really a tunneller to me due to the fact his power keeps thrusting people away, but if people have experienced otherwise then their opinion is equally as valid.

The strongest will always be the entity, HAIL THE ENTITY.!
Cthulu may have a bone to pick with that. Or the Scarlett King for that matter! I'm not gonna mess with that walking titan of death!
-
The Executioner and The Shape are bound to have a grand old chin wag!
-
Dwight, which is all to do with feeling a connection between him and myself in terms of character. Strangely enough I also play far better as him than any other character I've played as well.
Now Silent Hill is out on dlc Cheryl will also become a top favourite, since I'm a huge Silent Hill fan anyway, and her character was really well portrayed in the game.
-
The new map is original and can open up the possibility for further experimentation with maps. Feels more survivor-sided to me, but that's a very early impression.
But I do like it, even if it is disorientating currently.
-
My early impression of the new map is that it suits survivors more than killers. It feels like there are lots of ways to Bamboozle the Killer, which I was able to do, from jumping ledges to floors below, and decent vantage points of the courtyard. As Killer it was trickier to keep an eye out. All those areas to duck behind plenty of objects and nooks, as well as the maze-like existence.
As I play it'll get better, but at present my survivor games are certainly a lot easier than killer.
-
Probably Control, or replaying Silent Hill games - although I'm gonna do that soon anywau.
-
Instinctually, I would definitely say Adam feels gay to me. And as the new chapter is upon us I'd also like to say I've always thought of Cheryl Mason as lesbian even when Silent Hill 3 was released.
The others I haven't really given any thought about.
-
I just play as per normal. If the Twitch streamer wants to have a good show, they just need to play normally. Clicky clicky will make me ignore them, as with everyone else. So long as they play decently then they'll get a good match. It's not in my interest to play differently because they are a streamer.
-
Trump Power: Fake News
It's in front of you, but you don't have to accept it. Any time a survivor gets unhooked or healed, Trump uses his power to refuse it happened. The survivor is immediately rehooked or moved down one health state. This power has no cool down, because that's what the liberals want.
-
I'll buy him. Whether the perks are bad or not, I can experiment with playstyles and tactics to make them work. His power is decent and would make him a very viable killer.
-
Tactically, it can de used well. Just don't be that guy who happily self-cares when there is a survivor right by you. It's just stupid to ignore a faster healing option.
However, if you have time, use it a bit at a time, so when you find another survivor to heal you it takes less time.
Really, I only fully heal if I have it when there is only one other survivor hooked and I want a decent shot at saving them. Even as the last survivor, once EGC starts time is of the essence.

Don't they both like cry as you get closer? Maybe they could have like a smaller huntress humming thing going on.
I think they both cry regardless of distance, but SCP-096 takes longer to wind up when activated. Unfortunately, it can take that extra time as with Shy Guy you're already dead. At least with The Witch you have a small percentage you'd survive if people help you.
-
This idea really does help high-skilled players to completely take their opponent(s) offguard.
There have been more basic skin Dwights around in Red Ranks. Don't be fooled by appearances.

SCP-096 could also make for a neat legendary skin for the witch.
I was literally thinking that the moment I posted, but didn't add it! So long as they change the sound when they scream. Both screams are equally horrific (in a good way!)

-
Rotten Fields. It's just so boring! A wide open space with a hut in the middle and some crap on the outskirts. Just needs to be so much more interesting!
-
Bitter, salty comments. Nobody is impressed by a sore loser or sore winner.
-
It's fine by me! I play solo both roles, and it does appear SWF gets a bad rep because of those SWF groups who choose to play as bully squads. Ultimately, from my experience, I've rarely come upon those types when compared to others. If anything more solo players are toxic than teams.
Basically, I wouldn't skip a SWF team. As strong as they can be, they all have their weaknesses - it's up to the Killer to learn and adapt. It is possible, so long as people accept they will not always have rounds their way.

Honestly, it would be hard to decipher between the two, based on what little information there is about her.
She has some schizophrenic characteristics, including delusions (her idea of purification), and the fact that it is caused by a mixture of both genetic and environmental causes over a long period of time. She has certainly the environmental side, especially with how long she worked there and her husband passing. Yet there is no evidence of genetics and a common misconception about schizophrenia is that it makes people violent: Schizophrenia does not cause someone to be violent. Also, she would become withdrawn from human contact and her personal hygiene would be affected - there is no evidence to back this. However, this does not mean she couldn't work, as schizophrenics are perfectly capable of working.
PTSD can give an increased risk in violence but there are many times that has never happened. She has had a very traumatic past, and it is important to note that those ideas of purification could be from a schizophrenic delusion, but also from someone being pushed to the edge of sanity. They would also have accompanying mental conditions, such as depression or anxiety. Reliving her incidents over and over again in her head is very much PTSD.
Overall, if one of the two had to be chosen, it would most likely be PTSD. Mild delusions are also experienced in PTSD, as well as schizophrenia. However, both conditions can co-exist, and putting Sally down to just one condition with so little information would be unjust for the extremely complex situation she found herself in. It's most probable that she has a few conditions gathered from her history of trauma. We'd need much more information for a proper diagnosis.

Maybe the witch could have a power like survivors looking in her direction fills her power bar. When its filled she enters a very fast state with instantdown. Otherwise she is slow. Flashlights and firecrackers and other stuns will charge the power moderately. The counterplay to the power would be to look away from the witch would also allow the killer to better direct the chase and mindgame easier.
That would be similar to SCP-096 The Shy Guy, who goes into a rage when looked at. Whichever, that would be a new, inventive power that actually encourages survivors to not look and rely on ears, etc. That would be a new playstyle - good idea, I like it!
-
When I get a 4K and see all survivors on a meta build, whilst I'm running something like Unnerving Presence/ Spies from the Shadows/ Hex: Thrill of the Hunt/ Territorial Imperative as a Wraith woth no add-ons.
Or vice versa beaten a meta Hillbilly with just Slippery Meat, thanks to being screwed by my randomizer.
No matter what perks you have, it means squat if you can't play the basics better than the opponent.
-
Whatever I can do to survive! The only exception is if the Killer has face-camped and hit all survivors for 1 hooks, in which case I hide - I won't give them the satisfaction of my corpse being harpooned.
Then again, if that happened, I'd seriously have to question what the smeg I was doing all that time whilst The Killer was basically doing nothing and re-evaluate my entire stratedgy.
-
As with all Killer powers you can learn to evade it. It's a decent power which works well as an anti-loop, and joins such Killers as Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger and some others in able to counter some or all loops.
This attack isn't the strong one. The Torment trenches are the ones which will really cause survivors trouble if they're caught by it. Again, plenty of counterplay but if you fall for it, or are trapped by it my goodness you're going to have a bad time!
-
For me Silent Hill because I've always been a major fan of that series. The game fits perfectly into where DBD needs to go - a more horror-styled game. With The Deathslinger it moved away from horror so it's nice to bring it back.
However, I really wish more people played Demogorgon. That beast is one of my favourite killers to face.
-
It would be interesting. Heck, with the legendary addition, let's go right back and bring in Louis from Left 4 Dead. Heck, there's a perk already possible!
Perk: PILLS HERE!!!
You have an uncontrollable urge to make sure everyone knows where things are. Whenever you start an interraction, all survivors are immediately notified by a bang (like with Tinkerer), so people know where you are. The Killer cannot see this. He will also shout "TOTEM/ GENERATOR/ CHEST/ GATE/ HOOK HERE!!!"
-
Whichever, they all bleed the same. Part of my identity (Autistic Spectrum) is already included in the form of Claudette as far as I see it, so so long as they don't introduce someone who can blow up The Entity in one punch (yes, I'm looking at that guy!) then they're all welcome to the nightmare.

it’s a really great tv show it’s not just about the three being mermaids. It’s also about dealing with the every day teenage life.I may be in my twenties but it’s still a great series I watch it with my nephews.
Those shows are usually the best when they can replicate the real world and real problems with a mythical setting. If I come across it I may give it a watch. Thank you for sharing! :)
-
Pyramid Head comes around the corner, see David covered in muck and looking like he's gonna kill someone, and says: "Here, you have the Great Knife this time around. I think you're ready for the darkside"
Survivors would be peeved when DS suddenly disappears as a survivor perk, and reappears as an exposed status Killer perk. Dwight would not be long for this realm afterwards!

Slither is like the film the thing but with different backgrounds. And H2O just add water is a live action tv series (2006-2010) about three teenage girls in Australia who explore on an island called Mako and stumble upon a hidden sea cave during a lunar eclipse.Which gives them the ability to transform as mermaids with powers over water in both human and mermaid form when in contact with water.

The creativity comes from bending and surpassing standards. If you want surprise someone, they must have limited expectations. You can't surprise anyone with anything when they expect everything. The multi-universe thing you're describing is lazy because it allows to do anything with the plot. You're not thinking how to surpass any limits because you don't have ones, you just do whatever you want by making the "it's a parallel universe" excuse.
It's very possible to have limits in a parallel universe theory, as each universe has its own limits that must be adhered too, and in terms of this itself everyone plays this game with their own reality, so your version of reality would be different from mine and from everyone else.
With any narrative, someone can bend it to their will and within that create any laws they like, in so far as their creativity allows. To have a limited number of options just feels too easy to me, and would reduce any surprise factor.
With regards to surprises, a narrative with limited options drastically reduces opportunity, making the amount of surprises smaller and therefore less surprising. Opening up options allows as much creativity required, and yet still confined within the universe you have. No matter how much you'd expect "everything", it's still restricted. It always will be.
Finally, having a creature that can reach into different dimensions and realities in itself causes restrictions, as ultimately once people are there, they adhere to The Entity's will. Again, there are restrictions.
The more restricted a universe is made, the fewer opportunities there are. Therefore, it becomes more predictable. Laziness plays no part in creativity.

I honestly think they should add more Luck mechanics in the game for both survivor and killer, cause I like the Concept of Up The Ante but it's just too situational and has too little impact.
I agree completely! As far as I know, luck only affects the already low chance hook escape. It would be great to see luck also affect things such as the rarity of what is found in chests, or where totems could be found.

There is no mess. The microphone was just another projection... oooooooOoOoOOO
OoooooooOOOOOOOoooooooo = the fragments still on the floor.
Mind you, the survivors could use this excuse for anything there:
David "Who the Hell thought taking a dump in my jacket was a good idea?"
Dwight "It's only a projection David! That poo doesn't exist!"
David "Oh, OK, lemme put it on... I CAN FEEL THE RUNNY BITS!! DAMN YOU DWIGHT!!"

I meant @ABannedCat makes up their own stories regardless and doesn't feel constrained by lore, so why can't you do the same?
I see, so I wouldn't be constrained by lore. As my example of Dwight could still be gay, despite his crush on Rose at that particular point in time, shows that I am not tied into lore as is. Were I attached to lore strongly, that idea wouldn't be a possibility.
Secondly, the fact that I wish to identify with a character, and yet also understand others identify him as orientated in different ways also shows that there is no constraint.
Finally, I like the idea of a multiverse theory, where The Entity is actually not a Godlike construct, but actually a rather basic creature with a lot of power, just feeding and like the cult God of Silent Hill, seems to conjure things as instinct, rather than intelligent plotting and design. That's most certainly not lore, but is my reality of it, constructed as I wish.
Even if I was tied strongly to lore (which I'm not), would it be wrong for someone who did want to be engrossed in lore to see it their way? Is that not just another example of how someone wishes to see the game? Ultimately, people can view it however they wish, and I have no intention on stopping them with their reality of the game, so my reality is no more and no less important, so long as I do not dictate to others how they should see something, because denying that would be denying their right to have a viewpoint.
Hopefully, that clears it up.

I'm glad! I'd probably just stitch it into their background tbh. Not a throw away insert but a reasonable little tid bit. Maybe their partner was the reason they embarked to somewhere and subsequently were taken by the Entity. Stuff like that.
So make it a part of the overall, as opposed to having it as the key identifier? That would work. That's how a lot of straight characters are portrayed, and it would make sense to have other orientations portrayed in the same way to promote as true an equality, in so that people are defined by so much more than sexuality.
Maybe you twisted my arm just a bit in the other direction, although just to be clear I still like the idea of being able to freely identify with whichever character I like, but from what you say it's about how it is written in which makes it.
So yes, I wouldn't be upset if it was as you say. Actually, I wouldn't be upset at all regardless honestly! :)

I understand your point, and for the most part it's not a bad one. It would be nice if we could keep everyone ambiguous, but think about it from the flip side. Most media is over-saturated with straight characters, you don't have to look far at all to have some character to feel similar to.
I'd like to have that opportunity but sadly it's rare for me to have characters like that to identify with and I don't have to make that part of their lore up. That's the bad part about keeping it ambiguous; you silently assume everyone to be whatever is the "default" and that is still currently seen as straight by a lot of people.
Yeah, and what you say does make a lot of sense. There is undoubtably a lot of saturation of straight characters and individuals, and your idea of having characters to identify as is important as it would be for everyone.
You've given me some food for thought though. I'm interested to know how you would deal with the lore and what you would like to see. :)

That doesn't stop @ABannedCat, so why are you letting it stop you?
I don't follow. Nothing is stopping me deciding anything, so not sure what you're getting at. Could you elaborate please?
-
Both sides have "crutches" (hate hearing that, but I can see why) such as Moris and Keys, but those extras make the game less predictable and more entertaining for me at least.
The thing that confuses me - and this is probably too literal - but to call a killer a baby killer when they actually do the killing, and yet they're not baby killers if they get The Entity to do it for them! Likewise, a baby survivor apparently is one who refuses to be taken to the hook without resisting, or pulling themselves off the floor despite their agony, but they are not a baby if they just enjoy the ride to the hook. Always odd to me!
-
In all honesty, whilst the lore for Dwight with Rose recognises a heterosexual individual, it could also be said that it never mentioned he liked men too. Maybe he was uncertain, sought Rose, but at another point in his life (before or after - I haven't finished his lore) he realises he is bi or gay. Heck, he may end up realising he had no sexual desire at all!
I like the idea of making a character fit whatever the player wants! I'm straight, and perhaps I identify with Dwight more because of his appearance and character I imagine him with one of the girls, but equally I don't want to be told that's canon. He should be whatever anyone wants him to be, and if people prefer to see him gay or anything else, they should have the ability to do so, rather than being dictated this individual is something else.
Way better to allow your imagination to create how you wish the game to be, than be told there's no room for wriggle.
