  • There is no way they leave the knife thing with the Trickster. The wallets would complaint too much.

  • You can dodge SWF, all you have to do is look their profiles and take a look at the friends list/country/groups.

If you find 4 private profiles, get away.

Its kinda boring and exhausting, but its the only way to dodge the sweaty teams/team oracle wannabe.

  • If they can be reused, this is a problem. We'll see PTB results thought.

Can't wait for the fix to be a new perk released for killers: "When you turn off a boon totem, all survivors are exposed 60 seconds".

  • I like the changes, but as a Plague main I have to tell that she was pretty strong already. I'm happy about it but I don't think she needed it.

Yeah, I mean, ...my friend... only uses it because two story buildings are consistent. Hills are not, it depends where you jump down from the Hill, the highest spots count, the lower ones not, even if they trigger Balanced Landing.

I also dont think the Harvesters count, at least they did not before the graphical Rework.

Your friend is a really wise player :D thanks I'll try but only if I get haddonfield without offering.

  • I'm tired too, but they're needed in order to play the game right now as killer.

Hope devs can see the average match time (they sure do) and take a decision in the correct direction.

  • @Triplehoo said:

Are you sure you've been in a chase while you dropped down? Was the killers music in "chase"-mode?

Yeah, chase music and killer just a few meters behind me.

  • Lightborn is actually a pretty good damn perk.

When I see some perk review and they say its bad...they don't see the real power of Lightborn, and I'm not talking about being inmune to flash saves (you can face walls and fake grabs).

I'm talking about survivors losing time trying to blind you after a pallet drop, instead of gaining distance. There goes your free M1 = basically lightborn can buy you more time than even Ruin. Survivors tend to play stupid when they have a flashlight.

  • This is one of the problems of rushing gens without thinking.

If you leave the last 3 gens that are together, its your entirely fault.

If the killer forces the situation, it's up to you to drag him out. A killer can't guard 3 gens at same time, even if they are close. If you all start working on the 3 gens at same time, he is done.

  • Thanks for the answer, I will try on higher locations.

Tell your...friend...that I appreciate the tip, but I rather lose my hands before I use that offering.

  • @Maliken said:

It’s a pretty therapeutic killer, knowing that a survivor that t-bags and spams flashlight clicks can just be face camped to death.

I never do that as survivor. I mean, I main killer, I know what is to be on the other side.

  • Camping or tunneling doesn't inmediately means you are a bad killer. Even top tier killers do it sometimes because its necessary.

If the game is going fast you need to remove a player asap from the game. It's survivors job to exchange hook for the sake of the team.

About camping...if you camp in the first hook you're probably new or just playing bubba. Good survivors can just do 5 gens in 3 minutes and get out while he is camping. But camping sometimes is logic and necessary, like when there is no gens anymore and the doors are 99%.

  • They never change.

    bubba2.png

It seems to me that picking bubba is the way killers protest against the state of the game. "Lets pick this ass killer and just camp everyone".

Only that that is logical wrong thinking. Lose 1000 players of both sides in 2 examples, if you set them up directly to each other 1000 survivor less means 250 killer would not get games. Lose 1000 killer and at the same time 4000 survivor won't get games.

Of course this is only from a statistical viewpoint and reality works different but in regards to queue times on average the loss of killer is 4 times worse than survivor given equal numbers lost.

That's an interesting point, I'm not a number guy tbh, but wouldn't be worse if 4000 survivors were unable to find a game rather than 250 killers?

Killer queue is already kinda painfull (on Europe at least, can't find games in the morning, but at night I find games in 15 seconds).

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

You should see the overwhelming majority of my solo queue games where one gen gets done between all three teammates combined. There's no reason for me to ever bring Prove Thyself because no one ######### does gens. Most people I get matched with seem to think self caring 87 times a game is how you win. I'd love to get into these lobbies with that mythical "gen rush."

As soon as you get to high MMR (or supposedly high), you'll see those rushes. Some games I don't even touch gens as survivor and is like a 4 minutes game.

  • I watched some gameplay of VHS days ago. It feels super cluncky and orthopedic (no offense).

Your performance will naturally decrease if you run bad perks. If you played your favorite killer on two brand new accounts for 100 games. One perkless, and one with Ruin only, which account do you think would have higher mmr?

So I have to ley myself be won in order to have fun matches. Definetly not a good system.

Than stop sweating when you have puppies and your next match you will not get destroyed

Sweating when I have puppies? I don't even try.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

Why do players act like they are "forced" to do things? If you want to camp and tunnel or if you want to run 4 Slowdown-Perks, do so, but dont act like you are forced to do it. It is your own decision.

You can win games without any Slowdown-Perks.

If you face potatoes yes, you can win with Monstruos Shrine.

You don't need any defense. You only need it because you chose to sweat. If you sweat, you will be matched with equally sweaty survivors. I don't understand why people have so much trouble understanding concept of SBMM.

So you're telling us that perks matter for SBMM? If I put 4 horrible perks I will face only new survivors? Do you have any official statement that confirms this? Because I would love to run meme perks.

  • @tester said:

If you don't sweat so much, your games will last longer, as you will be matched with survivors who also don't sweat.

For me right now there is no middle ground. Either super sweaty team or little puppies.

  • @Uotsumi said:

    Nerf pallet loops and windows.

If the devs doesn't want to slow down the generators and healing, that's the only solution.

I think there are others posible solutions:

    • Early/Midgame collapse
    • Secondary objectives that are really worth it
    • Injured survivors repair slower (legion might be a problem here)
  • @OldHunterLight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/282322/gen-speed-is-too-strong-for-the-sake-of-the-game

The problem isn't gen speed, 80 seconds is a lot the problem is maps and how separate survivors spawn.

If you do not believe me, try lethal persuer, you will usually see this, 1 survivor in 1 gen, 2 together and the other 1 is closer to you.

And yeah, we want the game to be fun, which from these past updates hasn't been.

Early game start never came into the game, it's been what? 1.5 years?

80 secs for 1 gen solo is fine.

But I think 2 gen is like...30-35 seconds? that without prove thyself or toolboxes...like sometimes it literally takes 15-20 seconds to just pickup a survivor and hook him.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Wouldn’t longer gens mean more boring holding m1 though?

If the game is longer, it means more chases, more fun for everyone (assuming most people enjoy chases, some maybe not).

  • Sometimes Surge and PGTW can ######### themself up.

I think Legion is stronger with Ruin+Undying, or Ruin+PGTW. Ruin+Thana makes kinda the difference sometimes.

    I go Corrupt+Ruin+Thana+PGTW/Undying

  • Survivors are not gonna get nerfed. If you think about it, you need 4 survivors in order to play a game, and just 1 killer. If we think about numbers and player base, its better to keep survivors happy, bc otherwise long queues would be even longer.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2516170#Comment_2516170

Oh, yeah? Well, I find that most times the former is the leading cause of the latter.

    Is like you say.

Killers forced to camp because gens going ultra fast, I mean it makes sense that thay they want to secure at least one kill.

I wish a world where Killers could chase the unhooker without losing the match.

  • @GoshJosh said:

    Dragon’s Grip was created.

You don't fix unbalanced things with just new perks. I know BHVR likes to do that, but I don't think its the way.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Are you expecting everyone to just go perkless?

Funny that the moment you don't run the small pp build its compared to "perkless".

  • I don't buy it. I think this post is a bait.

There is no freaking way you can facecamp when survivors can literally do 5 gens in 4 minutes.

I mean, you facecamp the first minute and when the hooked dies the doors are already opened.

  • You can't. People saying that DH is not that good bc you can bait it out doesn't understand that DH for distance is the real issue, specially in the fastest meta we ever had in DbD.

The DH that alllows you to reach the pallet can extend the chase 30 seconds or more, which basically means another gen gets done. Now imagine this in all 4 survivors, its crazy to think about it.

  • Its hard times for killers right now. I suggest you to change to survivor for a while (its what I did) and wait for some balance changes to help the killers.

  • On my experiencie (playing since release), there are toxic players on both sides but...in general, killers tend to be toxic as a reaction for survivor's behaviour.

Like some killers are toxic since the beginning but...you know which survivors I tunnel/camp more? the ones that t-bag, flashlight click and all that stuff.

So yeah both sides are toxic but most toxicity is born on survivor side, and the killer just get poisoned.

Anyways DbD allows some people to play the bully role that they maybe would like to play in real life. Pointing the one that is different (the killer), mock him, destroy others hapiness. It's in humans DNA.

  • As survivor I'm escaping more games than ever.

As killer, its a mixture between hard 4k and crazy rush-4 minutes games.

  • If you do that, there is no killer in this planet that would choose to play against a team, so basically would kill multiplayer with friends. It would be nice to dodge the 4 team chads, but not all premades are like that.

No reward can change that, the stress and pain of playing against swf is so big.

  • @T103 said:

Will anything be done about tunnelling & camping? If you make gens take longer (or add more objectives, which technically makes gens take longer) those two strats get buffed.

I can asure you that most killers don't tunnel for fun, they just have to. They would be glad to chase the unhooker everytime, right now if they do that the game is gone.

Make gens slower and tunneling/camping is gonna decrease pretty hard. More chases, more points, more mindgames. Only sweaty chads want 4 minutes game.

  • Gens are actually a problem, even god players like Otzdarva are having hard time and less fun (just watched his stream today, he is thinking of playing another game).

People who say they are not, they are or survivor mains or killer mains that face potatoes.

They have to do something, we all know that. But not now, since months.

  • Leatherface by far, in 1300 hours I never saw a Leatherface playing fair.

  • Gearhead is nice on Freddy, I had fun with a Gearhead+Dragon's Grip+PWTG build, you should try it.

Ligthborn is my choice here, mainly because flashlights make survivors play stupid, they drop pallets when they shouldn't only to blind you, and if they stun you instead of gaining distance they stay there trying to blind, with Lightborn that's basically a free M1/power so in a nutshell this perk saves TIME which is the most important thing for killers.

With 2 flashlights on the lobby I always put it and I can tell you, Lightborn wins games.

  • Corrupt Intervention is a must, or maybe Ruin+Undying. Best scenario, all of them. Its needed in the fastest meta in DbD history in order to have fun and play the game.

  • Survivors don't care that much about bloodpoints. They prefer to do a gen rush and get 10k per game instead of just trying to enjoy the game and points for everyone. For them, "a win" is everything.

Right now the best thing you can do is run a strong perk regression build. Sadly I don't have that with all killers so some killers I'm not able to play with them.

  • I hate it because makes survivors being so confident while injured, so they don't waste time healing, which means gens go brrrrrr.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2328049#Comment_2328049

Blame the rise in toxic survivors for the spike in toxic killers. I, as well as many others who have commented or made posts on the forum, tried to play fair, tried to 2 hook everyone even if it meant no sacrifices. The amount of t-bagging and clicky clicky flashlights and even the occasional sabo squad stopping me from getting hooks, playing 3 purple offerings to extend the distance between hooks whilst I gave them cake.

This wore me down, as well as less than 5 minutes game time before the final gen gets finished, with exception to the sabo squads whose sole intentions were to make my games as miserable as possible.

I turned from a chill killer into a give no craps killer, even running noed which I have not run in a long time due to not liking the perk. This is solely because of game after game of toxic survivors.

I'm a Killer main, I understand camping when the survivor is toxic or tunneling when the gens go so fast. I understand toxicity on killer side is born bc of how survivors behave.

But camping on the first hook for no reason...that's another thing.

  • I played two games as survivor today, two "face" campers in both games. It seems some people just have to ruin the anniversary for everyone.

Closed the game after that and went to other game.

  • Soft tunneling is necessary in order to compete, if the 5 players have a similar level of skill.

My last game last night was ghostface on coldwind. I hooked survivor A, B, C, D then repeat the process. You wanna know the result? 1 kill 3 escapes all gens were done quickly.

I'm not talking about chasing the same survivor over and over again, but at some point you have to focus one or two survivors in order to get them out of the game so they don't just spam M1 and game is done.

  • He is not OP, but he is extremely, EXTREMELY boring to face.

Luckily there is not that much Nemesis out there.

  • I think people staying on the doors for a reason is the minority of survivors, but I believe some of them are not there to be mean.

But the fact that some survivors stay in the exit gate without nothing to do (everyone is safe, in the exit, waiting) wasting our time just to mock the killer...really puts faith on humanity really low.

  • There is usually more toxicity on survivor side but thats because they are 4 players against 1, so 4 possible toxic players against 1 posible toxic player.

Waiting on the exit gate to tbag the killer is one of the most mean thing survivors do. I go to the basement and check twitter while they wait until the last second of the endgame collapse to go, sometimes I also do sudokus on my phone.

  • It is a thing, no matter what survivor mains say.

People telling you that "they are only doing their objective" are the same that complain about tunneling (they forget killer's objective is to KILL).

Even if its their only real objective, if it can be done that fast that almost every player in the match blackpips...then yeah its a problem. Some survivors should understand the consequence of gen rush existing. When gens go so freaking fast:

    • Killers are forced to camp and tunnel = bad experience for everyone
    • Some survivors are the entire match pressing M1 = boring experience
    • Everyone gets less BP and blackpips, except maybe one survivor.

The point is that isn't survivors fault to do his objective. The devs are the ones that have to fix this, here some ideas:

    • Injured survivors should repair slower by default (rework thanatophobia to avoid being too much). This would make survivors to invest time to heal instead of M1 al match. Maybe nerfing dead hard too.
    • Nerf Prove Thyself.
    • Make Corrupt Intervention a default effect (like an early game collapse).
    • Give survivors some side objective that are really worth it, like extra BP to all the team if all totems are done.
    • Make all survivors always spawn together, so there is no 3 people working on 3 gens while killer is chasing the first survivor.
  • I understand that the name shaming rule is there to prevent people bullying others on the forums (we have enough being bullied ingame).

But a person that does this kinda things should be exposed, imo. I highly doubt that ingame reports/internal forum reports have consequences.

  • It is true that we tend to remember the negative before the positive.

However is still painful how the duality just makes you exit the game sometimes.
