  • Deathslinger is really weak against gen rush.

In any case, the meta is really fast right now so not the best one for slinger.

  • Wait until more survivors complain and they will add an overheat mechanic to the bell.

  • Coldwin is the new Haddonfield sadly, but you played those loops incorrectly.

Learning which chases you should commit and which you should not is one of the most important things as killer.

  • I'm not even a Trapper main and he is the killer I have better results according to the data I gather off my matches.

    I'm still wondering why.

  • Noed is actually fine.

It punishes M1 survivors which in my experience are the majority. They don't want to adapt to circumstances (working on bones), they just want devs to fix their lazyness so they can keep pressing M1.

I can give you some hints if you need help with winning on Haddonfield. Definitely don't chase players that run upstairs in houses, that tends to waste the most amount of time for killers, because a killer will get looped around the entire house if you do that. Try to hook survivors around strategic center of the map gens that have been worked, so you can kick those gens and waste survivors gen progress, because they have to get off that gen to help the hooked survivor.

Are you above rank 15 yet? If not, Haddonfield will seem like an unwinnable map. Once you get some more hours, you'll be able to win on it.

    Nice bait.

I win about half the games I play on Haddonfield. I think you're exaggerating when you say you can't win any games on Haddonfield. What Killer are you playing, the K-Pop Killer without add-ons?

Can you please read my first post? Jesus christ.

    I don't like Haddonfield, doesn't mean I can't win on the map.

    You have to explain everything...

  • I keep playing with 1 DC, because meta is so survivor side that even in a 1 vs 3 the game is kinda balanced.

With 2 DCs or 1 DC+early hook suicide I usually let them escape (unless one of them BMed with flashlight, tbag, etc).

dude update yourself Haddonfield is changed, it didn't get complete rework but they shortened the fences which is result in NO MORE LOOPING, if you can't win on this map then you're just bad

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

this community is full of pro players who can't handle a map no matters which sides you playing a killer or a survivor DC has increased a lot because the match didn't go as they want

Can you quote me when I said that I can't win on Haddonfield?

If you do, I give you all the money you want.

Jesus, some people just can't read.

  • Is hard as survivor if you play solo, cuz all the disconnects and hook suicides.

Is hard as killer because even if you 4k you might get black pip (I never will understand this).

  • He is super cool, and I enjoy the chase music and the laughs. However, even if I'm having success with him (corrupt, pop, agitation, starstruck), he is weak as hell.

Should definetly be a 115m/s killer.

  • After Hillbilly's nerf I'm still looking for a main. I'm having a lot of success and fun with Blight, and I like Legion and Trickster because they're cool even if they are bad.

  • I'm fine with DC penatly removed when I'm killer and I'm facing a Haddonfield offering.

Other than that, yeah it will be back after they fix the problems.

  • I'm surprised almost no one mentioned Leatherface.

One of the most easiest killers to play, just run and press power and you have a oneshot for free.

As survivor, you have to predrop every single pallet, and just go to double window jungle gym (one window gets blocket by baamboozle).

On top of that, every single Leatherface play like #########, tunneling and camping as much as possible.

It would be annoying for the survivor who is getting chased I suppose. Imagine you were doing well vs a bubba and someone else pops a gen right before you try to vault and get instadowned.

Well there is nothing wrong about a perk being annoying. The problem is when its oppresive.

Yeah, itwould screw up some survivors in chase but that's the point about perks, and both killers and survivors have to try to play around them.

  • Definetly should block around the killer, not the gen completed. Would be kinda playable, after all while you are chasing the other survivors are working on gens so it makes sense.

  • Just had a game as Huntress and I chased everytime a different survivor, like, I chased always the unhooker.

You know what happened? I got 1 kill, 3 escapes.

Tunnel is the way to go, unless they nerf gen speed. I was using Ruin+Pop btw. Gen speed is what makes killer tunnel.

  • Dead Hard is basically survivor's noed, just a perk that helps you when you play poorly.

  • In fact they are super related. Gen rush makes killers to be forced to camp and tunnel, but players that only play survivor side can't see that.

    Calm Spirit:

    You do not alert wildlife

Your urge to scream is suppressed

Crows startled by someone within 20/28/36 meters alert you With a loud noise notification

Calm Spirit has a cooldown of 15 seconds

Thats interesting. So instead of a stealthy perk it would be an information perk, but I guess it will trigger also with other survivors startling crows? That could be messy.

On the other hand, I know ToT seems oppresive but in the end is just one time in 60 seconds and he has to kick a generator that is not being repaired so...that is some kind of investment, plus good survivors usually are looking their surroundings while repairing so being undetectable is not that big of a deal.

Like I said, my idea could be unnecessary, it's just there as a backup incase your change had the unintended side effect of being too powerful, which we don't really know if it will be or not until we test it on the PTB. If it's NOT too powerful, then my backup idea to balance everything out can be scrapped.

    Yeah, I totally agree.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/259226/some-perk-changes-would-like-to-know-your-opinion

    Okay, let's review your ideas:

    Boil Over

Keep the actual effects. Add a new feature:

For every hooked survivor in this game, you gain a 3% wiggling speed

This is pretty tricky, messing around with wiggle speed is a dangerous game. A more safer change:

    • While being carried, the killer suffers from the blindness status effect.

Would hide all hook auras, and any other aura reading perk / add-ons. If the killer doesn't pay attention to their surroundings, they will waste more time looking for a hook and might give you the opportunity to wiggle off in certain situations. This indirectly makes wiggling free easier without touching the wiggling speed.

    Dance With Me

Reduce the cooldown to 20 seconds

Of course, this would allow synergy with Quick and Quiet. We need to encourage the use of other perks and this buff might be enough to shake some survivors. Besides, stealth needs some love too...

    Trial of Torment

    Remove the yellow aura reveal

I believe it would be a great change, BUT this could be oppressive. I believe, if it's oppressive, there should be a perk notification at the lower left letting survivors know that they are being negatively affected by Trail of Torment.

    Surge

It also triggers with killer's powers

Nice idea, but upon removing the basic attack requirement, how about it causes the Incapacitated status effect for 12/14/16 seconds on survivors who were repairing a generator within surge range. Would be nice since they would need to respect the perk and the cool-down would be there to balance things out.

To be honest your idea for Boil Over is also fine, I just want that perk to me something (I kinda like the icon, I know its a stupid reason).

As you said, dance with me + quick and quiet could encourage some survivors to play a Houdini build which I find it extremely fun.

On the other hand, I know ToT seems oppresive but in the end is just one time in 60 seconds and he has to kick a generator that is not being repaired so...that is some kind of investment, plus good survivors usually are looking their surroundings while repairing so being undetectable is not that big of a deal.

  • I already reported him ingame but I thought I could post the video here.

    Thanks for the feedback anyways.

  • @CrustyCake said:

Trail of Torment change I think would be too strong, you would then start seeing it in every game. Maybe make it the gen become highlighted after X seconds. That will give the killer the sneaky affect that seem your looking for

Surge, just needs is cooldown removed. Maybe add a longer cooldown if it needs to activate on any type of down.

Dance with me might be a bit aggressive, but all the rest of them are probably fine changes.

Remember that ToT still has 60 seconds cooldown so...yeah it would be strong but Idk if mandatory in every killer, I like your idea too.

    Thanks for the feedback!!

They will probably buff Surge soon I'd think. I hope they also reduce the cooldown to 30 seconds and remove the basic attack requirement then the Perk might be half decent.

If they make Surge being activated even with powers...that would be awesome.

Well, you shouldn't only be keeping one person busy. Throughout the match you should be having 1 person slugged/hooked, 1 person being chased, 1 person going to get the slug/hooked and healing them, and then you have 1 person doing a gen. The only time you should have 3 people working on separate gens is at the start of the game.

    You need to create pressure.

The problem is when you do that and gens still pop ultra fast.

Sadly the meta right now forces you to slow the game as much as posible, so Ruin is mandatory. For me PGTW is bad because most of the times the moment you reach the generator, is finished (it is pretty good though in a 3 gen situation).

I don't think they're slowing the gen speed so...maybe survivors should always spawn together, so there is no chance of 3 gens being done at same time.

  • I think prove thyself is the only one that is kinda overpowered.

Dead Hard is....yeah so good, but the problem for me is how this perk changed chases. I feel like survivors would have a hard time trying to escape a chase without DH now...they have like a bad habit.

  • Nemesis is actually good, but not high tier.

The problem is not Nemesis. Is players playing bad with him.

For now I'm only seeing M1 tunnelers.

  • @indieeden7 said:

I doubt that this is a change they would make, maybe it was just latency? Or something was blocking the killer from closing the hatch?

Idk bc happened to me two times, one as killer and one as survivor. In the last one the killer tried to M1 after I jumped so I don't think he was sparing my life.

  • I think Tinkerer is fine. Lets give Killers some strong perks too, so they can have fun.

What I find weird aboud Tinkerer is that it has no cooldown (I'm already seeing the nerf). Is weird because how often devs like to add cooldown to not make perks kinda strong (Dragon's Rage, Thrilling Tremors, I'm All Ears).

  • Toxic behaviours are born on survivor side. Killers are toxic as a reaction.

  • "People who play both sides are the whiniest group out of everyone."

Actually no. People who play only one side are constantly crying about the good stuff off the other side. People who play both sides are the ones that know that both sides have strenghts.

  • I wouldn't mind a long chase if gens were done at human speed.

Basically all the problems in the game are directly or indirectly related to how fast gens go this days.

    • Gens go fast: killer decides to tunnel or camp to secure kills/apply pressure.
    • Gens go fast: Nobody get points, probably most of the players get blackpip or deranks.
    • Gens go fast: Killer is gonna be tilted because he can't play the game, he is going iris Huntress next game or just bubba.
    • Gens go fast: Boring game for everybody, unless fornite kids that their concept of fun is just escaping with 10k points and tbag on the exit gates.
    • Gens go fast: Maybe lets play Nurse and now survivors have no counterplay.
    • Gens fo fast: Unable to play a killer if you don't have ruin+undying with him.

Only fixing that the game could be awesome.

  • If a killer 3 gen the game it is because survivors weren't smart enough to repair using their head.

Most of them just run from a gen to gen without thinking about that. The rush meta hurts some brains...

  • I guess they didnt want him to be super opressive, considering this patch came with a huge nerf to survivors (DS nerf, no more 4 minute inmunity per game).

After all you need 4 survivors to play a game, and just one killer.

  • In fact I think Surge needs a buff to compete with Ruin/Pop. Its actually pretty underwhelming compared to those two, specially ruin+undying which is the best gen regression set you can have.

  • You lose the game if you commit to the wrong chase, but being a good killer is exactly knowing which chases you should take and which not.

This reads as more than "weak" it literally reads as "entirely garbage". Let me explain:

    • He is a 110% Killer. Having to go full M1 based on the map and loops is unacceptable.
    • Having 2 or 3 perks that are mandatory is also completely unacceptable. Not only that but they are 3 of the best perks in the game. Pretty garbage if you ask me.
    • Says nothing about his current strength.

Why use him over the Plague? He is garbage.

Because not every player plays "meta" with only Nurse and strong killer. I play him because I think he is cool and I like the chase music, of course he needs buffs, doesnt mean he is unplayable.

Anyways ruin+undying is mandatory in almost every killer, so is nothing bad about the trickster, is something bad about the gen speed.

  • Sadly there is no way I could imagine for nerfing SWF. If you put an option in the menu to avoid SWF, everybody would activate that and It would be impossible for 4 friends to play together.

Right now, if you want to avoid SWF, you have to dodge the lobby or just disconnect and wait 5 minutes to play another game. Is easy sometimes to recognize them as they usually use haddonfield or coldwind offerings, they run one or two flashlights, one OoO, 3 o 4 BTs, and they are extremely altruistic so camping is effective against them.

And they are extremely toxic so...with all that in mind just dodge or disconnect and watch some Otzdarva videos while you have the penalty.

  • I would say just one rule: Respect the killer.

If you respect me as killer, I will give you a fun match and a chance to everyone to escape (avoiding tunneling, giving hatch, etc).

If you don't respect me as a killer, by tbagging, flashlight clicking and all that stuff, just prepare to die because you are going down in seconds now that you don't have 1 minute of inmunity every match.

  • @Zozzy said:

If you have time to work on a gen then you are not being tunnelled.

Dude this quote just destroys the entire threads complaining about tunneling. 10/10.

  • I don't care about rank, so I'm just playing him the entire time. Rank only means you play a lot after all, is nothing about skill imo.

He is not that weak, I mean, he is low tier killer for sure, but he is not entire garbage. What I learned:

    • Use his power only in short and low heigh loops, in that scenario he is awesome. Other than that, just M1 unless you see a bunch of survivors in open area so you can go with the final act stuff (or whatever its called).
    • Use a slowdown repair build, he really needs it. Ruin+Undying is mandatory, maybe even corrupt.
    • If you ask for buffs, I would say: Reduce the amount of knifes it requires to injure or down (from 8 to 6 or 7) and remove the movespeed penalty while he is shooting.
  • I'm actually starting to get good results with him. In certain loops, the power is great (loops with low height), other than that, just M1.

Having finally ruin+undying on him so I'm not getting rushed at all. I'm using corrupt and iron maiden too. For now, a success day.

  • If you look from far away, seems something like this:

    dasaf.png

    I'm sorry.

  • DS might be bad right now because there are not that many real "tunnelers", so even if now is really an anti-tunnel perk, is probably not worth the slot.

The point is that people just missunderstand what tunneling is. If you get unhooked and I'm far away, for example patrolling gens and I just find you again, working on the gen, I'm going for you. That's not tunneling, is just bad luck that the killer just found the same survivor again.

  • @Zeus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2063477#Comment_2063477

If you look at posts that said DS needs a nerf, the counter argument was almost always 'Killers will tunnel without DS. Its forced'.

    Yeah this is basically it.

He is confessing (we all know that), that DS was used as an inmunity, but not as an anti-tunnel perk like most survivors claimed.

  • At least you can play it. The DLC is not on the steam store after 1 hour of release.

Anyways, Trickster seems to be a fun killer to play, but not an effective one.

  • People should realise that the problem with dead hard is not about avoiding a hit, its about the time it buys.

Dead Hard for distance is actually frustrating because a chase that might be 20 seconds can be 30, 40, or even more. Its the time it buys the problem, not the dodge.

I collected info about my last 200 matches as killer and Dead Hard is by far the most played perk (decisive and borrowed being kinda close), of all the perks that survivors can choose, they choose DH, that means something usually.

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

I also hate tunnelers at red ranks.

They get on a gen, and tunnel it until it is done.

Man this is so funny an at same time so true.

Sometimes I think survivors have their own "obsession", being that a single gen. Instead of spread out and try to confuse the killer, they keep going back to the same gen over and over again.

  • I think Hillbilly is a bit slower, but its probably a bug.
