Please record some of your gameplay to share with us. If you are easily getting 4ks as Trapper, clearly you know something many people don't know. Please share your strategy with everyone so they can learn.

If I had a nickel for every time someone came in and dropped a sweeping statement with no follow up or evidence to support the statement, yours wouldn't be the first.

    Wait, how many nickels?

And strategy would be derank like crazy then tunnel babies…

I also feel that the kill rate for killers across the board is deceptive and doesn't take into account the pace of play. I've had many games where I get 3 or 4 kills but there is 1 to 0 gens remaining and I didn't start getting pressure until 2 gens were done and a 3rd about to be completed. Point here being that just cause I got a 4k it doesn't mean that pace of play isn't a problem.

What... What exactly is the complaint here? 'I won, but survivors got close/had a chance'?

Do we want games to close out with 2+ gens left all the time?

Have you even read it whole?

Point here being that just cause I got a 4k it doesn't mean that pace of play isn't a problem.

The sad part is that idk what to do to fix it and make it so that every player has a chance to play the game and not feel super stressed out.

Basically change whole pace of the game and get slower start to help killers feel less stressed, then help survivors later to give them fighting chance and keep escape rate on similar levels.

Issue is this would be hell to balance.

what are you smoking they nerfed survivor for 2 years straight, now the sky is falling because they nerfed pain res by 5% ?

cmon bro.. everyone knows tunnelling/slugging was already main strat before update

what are you smoking they nerfed survivor for 2 years straight,

    Oh really? Tell me how.

Last major nerf was healing nerf which is more than year ago.

What else was nerfed? MFT, Buckle up, Adrenaline

Otherwise base game you had all changes in favor of survivors.

Killers throw a hissy fit the second the game doesn't go there way. Want proof? Do a sabo build for one game.

Anyone saying the game is harder on killer is FOS, the last two years has had the highest average killrates ever. The game could not be easier on killer. I can 4k on trapper (perceived as the worst killer) as many times in a row as I want.

as many times in a row as I want.

    Wanna host a stream?

50 wins in a row as trapper

If you are that good, do it without any slowdown and tunneling to prove a point even more.

If you get over 1000 as some killers did with Nurse/Blight you will become a legend of DBD...

Unless you do it like the 500 streak demo and for every win on stream there is 10 loses off stream :D

  • Definitely no

I never want to see survivor character meta. It's definitely bad idea to encourage using same characters in team.

It's already annoying sounds and sizes are completely different.

Whoa... How the hell this happened?

I wonder if there is any other killer who can use this.

    Billy with lopro might work?

  • It's not terrible, but issue is Distortion can easily find you have it and then other players are free to trigger it on purpose, so you are not able to use it for chase, which is very annoying.

It's definitely valid on killers who can injure even through walls like Nurse, or Pyramid head.

But value is kinda low for M1 killers in my opinion.

  • Surge + pain res

Eruption + pop + nowhere to hide

    Corrupt + No Way Out

    Grim embrace + Eruption

DMS + Pain res (for killers who can worse survivors from gens like Artist) with BBQ

    Ruin + Surge

    Never use eruption + surge

    I have never liked Deadlock...

I meant to say, killers in general got nerfed in-between the Unkown getting released, and his killrate going down. That isn't a natural drop. If that's your only example of killrates dropping over time, then you are out of examples.

Killers don't know how to play the killer and survivors don't know how to play against them. The argument that the killrate starts high and goes down doesn't make sense. Only in the scenario that all survivors don't know how to play against the killer and all killers know how to play that killer already. Would that statement make sense. If you believe this than you believe all killers play the PTB and all survivors don't, but that would be an insane belief.

If that's your only example of killrates dropping over time, then you are out of examples.

    Wesker?

I don't really bother about this enough to pay nightlight subscription and check every killers kill rates.

I can also use Vecna as an example. His kill rate already dropped and he wasn't nerfed yet. It will drop even more after the nerf and pick rate.

Killers don't know how to play the killer

When you are playing, you are simply forced to learn faster as killer than survivors who only sometimes play against it and often don't get to play whole match. How is that difficult concept?

If you believe this than you believe all killers play the PTB and all survivors don't, but that would be an insane belief.

First of all PTB is only for steam players. Also majority of players don't care at all about PTB, or read updates.

Killers don't know how to play the killer and survivors don't know how to play against them.

That's why I said except killers with high skill floor. There is an opposite effect. Kill rate starts low, then increase. How much increase depends on what counterplay is available to survivors.

For this best example is Singularity. Very high skill floor and very easy counterplay, so kill rate is terrible to this day.

I haven't been watching enough to know if any of that is true. What I do know is killers in general have been nerfed in between the unknown getting nerfed and his killrate going down correct?

How was Unknown nerfed? And Unknown had also around 70% kill rate with many posts on forum asking for nerf.

His current kill rate is slightly under 60%. What else changed other than survivors adapting?

Do you believe survivors know how to play against the killer from first day? If answer is no, it means kill rates are always boosted at start and will lower to some extent.

Glad to hear it! New exhaustion perk is kinda underrated also. I thought it's bad, until I played custom with friends with and against this perk. It gives you a lot of value, when you whole team use exhaustions. You don't see this value, but it is there. And with Spies it even better and helps you to see this value in some degree.
I would say you NEED to use it with Spies to get value from it in half of cases.

when you whole team use exhaustions.

That's the issue and it can't be Sprint Burst.

It's just terrible without Spies for sure.

But I think there are simply way better chase perks, which cam give you more value and more reliable.

Every killer that has had close to that killrate has been nerfed, why do you assume Vecna is different? And I would argue that Vecna is easier to play than the killers who have had a killrate as high as this.

I just don't understand why you think Vecna is any different, why would that killrate be allowed to stay over the ones before him? Or are you saying the killrates fall naturally? How would you know that if every killer you alluded to received a nerf pass?

Every killer that has had close to that killrate has been nerfed,

Oh really, how was Unknown nerfed?

Wesker didn't get any major changes as far I remember.

Vecna is already getting, which I find disappointing, same as Xeno. You should first fix all bugs so we can see intended version before dealing with balancing issues.

Or are you saying the killrates fall naturally?

Of course they do. It's an expected outcome. It happened to every killer even before they received any changes.

Vecna's kill rate is already under 70% and it used to be higher at start.

Killer is forced to learn how it works faster than survivors. Real power level can be decided only when survivors catch up.

When survivors learn counterplay, kill rate is going to drop. How much depends on how effective counterplay is.

I guess well have to disagree until both inevitably get nerfed. I just wish more killers cared about a fair game. They seem to only care when survivors have the tiniest edge on them. As soon as killers even remotely outperform, everyone defends it to the ends of the earth or tries to gaslight you.

Vecna has one of the highest killrates we have ever seen on the fanmade cite right now. I know it isn't "official" but when comparing to the other numbers it's obvious the killer isn't balanced atm. Even if you just played just a few games against, you would also get that something isn't right. I have played maybe 8 games against him so far, and I think only one person has escaped so far.

I just wish more killers cared about a fair game.

This is not about fair game. Just a skill issue.

Vecna has one of the highest killrates we have ever seen

Unknown had exactly same kill rate.

Almost every killer had higher kill rates than any other killer upon release. Only exceptions are killers with higher skill floor.

I had spend several hours in custom game against Vecna just to find his limits and what to do. Most survivors won't do it and it will take several weeks before it becomes public knowledge.

  • Big changes: Myers, Freddy

    Addon pass: Nemesis, Pyramid head

Then you many killers who need simple number changes, or single features.

  • You can use something like nowhere to hide + eruption + pop for decent results.

Pop is way weaker than it used to be and it's definitely not good enough as solo perk regression in my opinion.

It has nothing to do with how good your teammates are, you cannot talk to your teammates. That is information that cannot be shared. No matter how good you or your teammates are, Weave Attunement by design has no counter play for the people who don't know the item was even dropped.

The orb is the only one that will get you any value, agreed. The other ones just aren't worth wasting the time on them. Both of the nat 20 items take a health state to use, and with how difficult and limited heals are. It is not worth it to give a health state for something that isn't even a guaranteed get away. Both tell the killer where you went, if it was a clean get away I would use them. But both are basically giving you a few seconds of breathing room, which could have been gotten by just giving up the health state to a hit. If you add the time you are looping to avoid that first hit, they both become no longer worth using.

With how they are designing maps now, it is pretty rare to have loops feeding into other loops. On 90% of loops on most maps, this is just going to be a free hit. I am not a bad player, I have beaten the person who is considered the best Sadako in the world. I am telling you the distance between loops is plenty big enough for him to hit you.

The time you have to run between the skeletons is in most cases less than a second. A good killer can basically spawn them on top of your hit box, making it not dodge-able at all. All crouching does is shift where your hit box is, this is not some magic skeleton tech. If the skeleton goes through you, you are getting hit, regardless of how low you can go.

That is information that cannot be shared.

You don't need to. Every survivor can find out themselves. Everyone has the option since first second of the game.

It has everything to do with how good players are.

Every survivor has option to prevent the item getting into loop. If they fail at it, that's their mistake.

I am telling you the distance between loops is plenty big enough for him to hit you.

You don't need different loop against mage hand. The loop you are in is more than enough.

A good killer can basically spawn them on top of your hit box, making it not dodge-able at all.

Even that can be easily dodged as long you can see Vecna, because the animation is displayed quite well.

If you can't see Vecna, then Vecna is guessing too. You need very precise distance for this to work.

The time you have to run between the skeletons is in most cases less than a second.

Killer just lost bloodlust and gave you 4 meters extra distance. How is that not good enough for you?

Skeletons are highly limited and in most situations simply hindrance to use.

Ignore everyone else I am just here having a conversation with you. You claim both sides will endlessly defend what is OP on their side. I am proving that I am completely for balancing OP survivor perks because it brings more options.

The problem with Weave Attunement is your teammates, not you. I cannot control if my teammates bring items and whether or not they figure out what perks the killer is using. I will just die faster than normal and realize after the game ends that my teammates item was used to kill me. What was my counter play in that situation? Because that's exactly what happened when I encountered this perk combo.

I think the biggest issue with Vecna is the items you get in the chests aren't very good or nearly impactful enough to have a fighting chance. Rather than just keep nerfing him I think they should focus on making the items actually worth getting.

Mage had reversion and nerf is welcome, but I don't think it will actually stop mage hand from being a near guaranteed hit. My longest chases against him so far, have been just me W keying away from him with Lithe. Anytime I try to loop him it ends very very quickly. The only way to dodge the skeletons is to just have distance on him, if he gets close enough you are just dead 90% of the time.

The problem with Weave Attunement is your teammates, not you. I cannot control if my teammates bring items and whether or not they figure out what perks the killer is using. I will just die faster than normal and realize after the game ends that my teammates item was used to kill me. What was my counter play in that situation? So issue are teammates, not perk.

I am not going to consider perk to be broken, when it works only on bad players. There is a counterplay and survivors are even told about the perk. What more you want from it?

I think the biggest issue with Vecna is the items you get in the chests aren't very good or nearly impactful enough to have a fighting chance.

Boots for haste and ability to see the orb are amazing items you should try to get in every game. Roll 20 items are kinda broken (hand more than eye)

Mage had reversion and nerf is welcome, but I don't think it will actually stop mage hand from being a near guaranteed hit.

It's bad on short loops or loops with window nearby. Even more so if you get haste from boots.

The only way to dodge the skeletons is to just have distance on him, if he gets close enough you are just dead 90% of the time.

That's not true. Vecna has huge delay before he can attack. It's impossible to down survivor with it with standing pallet nearby unless the survivor screwed it.

If you learn how to run between them, which is easy, Vecna just lose lots of distance.

Crouching is easiest counterplay you can get.

I am a survivor main, and I also called for CoH, DH, and MFT nerfs. Mainly because it did not feel good to have perks that were insanely more powerful than anything else you can do. For that reason, I would be okay with then nerfing WoO, but that's as far as that list goes. Nothing else feels like it's set and forget, every other perk is a choice. The only thing close to being set and forget is the exhaustion perks. You would need to overhaul that entirely and with how BHVR nerfs survivor stuff, they would likely be killed entirely.

So I have admitted, will you do the same for Vecna and Weave Attunement?

I have never said "you" were against it. Just players in general.

You can try to convince me and explain why they are broken. I like to argue about things.

I my opinion, Weave attunement has primitive counterplay and you can find out killer has it in first second of the match. Why is that supposed to be broken? You can argue it's not fun for you, but that's about it.

Vecna depends which aspect of his kit. Mage hand can be without a counterplay, because of a bug. I can agree on this aspect, but that's about it.

I think Vecna is going to be quite weak after mage hand is nerfed. Low impact powers with enough counterplay, huge cool downs with additional mechanic to make him even weaker.

  • @Gmoore23 said:

I agree with a lot of these, but I wanna throw in Oppression. Even though it has a horrible cooldown, it's such a neat perk because it lets you hit three gens at once. It's insanely underrated imo, and it can really work on any killer, so Demo should be all good.

Effect is not bad, but as you said. Cooldown keeps it from even remotely viable.

Make it like 50 seconds and it might be good enough for some builds.

This perk definitely doesn't live up to it's name.

  • Some did it in past, didn't go well.

Streaming is basically a job. Devs already have a job...

The gen defense nerfs really aren't enough to make tunneling and camping a necessity. People just use these strategies because they are an easy way out for a win. The only thing that might be too much are the sabo changes.

The gen defense nerfs really aren't enough to make tunneling and camping a necessity.

Depends on what killer, what map, what survivors, perks and items.

Also it depends on your definition of tunneling.

Do you need to tunnel from first hook in every game? Hell no.

Are games where you need to do it to win? Yes, but it's rare.

But you definitely need to get someone out of the game at some point. Holding 1 gen against 4 survivors is simply unrealistic for most killers.

Last changes (3-gen + nerfs) didn't make tunneling a requirement to win, but I would say it definitely made games more stressful for many players, which can get them to tunnel someone out faster than used to.

  • Ruin can work quite well on demo. Demo is good at defending totems. You can combine it with Pain res.

    Corrupt + No Way Out

Eruption + Grim embrace / nowhere to hide

  • Chucky down

    Deathslinger down

    Billy up

    Vecna down

    Clown down twice

    Wraith up

    Legion up

    Oni up

No matter how overpowered something is, killers will defend it.

No matter how overpowered something is, players will defend it.

It's not just killers, it's both sides... You have no idea with how many survivors I had to argue over MFT, or CoH.

  • Nah, just let me play even on cooldown (0% effect).

  • From my POV, games are simply more stressful, so I sometimes get someone out of the game faster than I used to do.

Before I was confident in standing my ground even with 1 gen left, so I didn't mind going for 8 hooks. I am not anymore with 3-gen feature and overall slowdown nerfs.

There are killers where I am still confident like Oni, or Hag. I believe it's possible for me to snowball at any point.

But most other killers not really...

    We hadn't shown any toxicity.

I think I need a video testimony from the Killer before I believe claims like this anymore.

Does it really matter though? Both sides can and do initiate toxic behaviour even if not directly provolones and it’s up to the devs to take away these tools if the toxic behaviour is crossing a line. That line is of course subjective but the devs said that it’s not against game rules to bleed someone out as the game will reach a ‚natural‘ end.

New mechanic like the finisher mori - if implemented right - can be a good way to avoid this kind of toxicity. Just hopefully it will not introduce new unfun mechanics

    Does it really matter though?

    It matters in my opinion.

For example yesterday I had survivors crying and complaining about bleeding them out.

But the detail they all were in corner and it was impossible for me to hook (The Game map) was clearly not relevant...

I really don't believe I was toxic in that moment, I simply had no other choice (unless you count letting them leave).

Drop pallet= it gets lift then you get hit. block pallet= killers are faster you get a hit. There's nothing to mind game about that ability. With these casting time and #########. Your gon a get hit

That's just not true. It will take me like 2 minutes find a clip where survivor just run another loop.

It is even easier, if survivor has haste boots.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

pop+eruption is really good. I think pop is weak by itself and eruption itself is weak but together, they make a decent combo. With pop getting a nerf, it is worse than before but it is still ok.

60% regression is not bad. for reference, pain res is 20% for 1 hook. so if you exhaust all regression events, it is like using pain res 3 times. Like i said in a previous post, any time a generator is complete and you didn't block it, your losing out of gen regression.

pain res is 20% for 1 hook.

I don't believe nerfing % from pain res was right call anyway.

It was good combined with surge to basically never need to kick gens and still have decent slowdown.

    pop+eruptio

It's not that good, because of cooldown. You need to wait to use pop, if you want to apply eruption.

    Pop is also way weaker...

Nowhere to hide is must have to use for eruption value. What you pick next doesn't matter as long it's not Surge.

I have tried it with new exhaustion crow perk. (Not that good imo)

    It's random, just unreliable.

I suggested nerf to end the effect after first scream, which would be fine and just reliably get you into chase.

the reason windows doesn’t require anything to activate is because it’s just an aura reading perk💀it’s like bond.
also getting pop goes the weasel to active is just normal gameplay. Nothing special. There are a bunch of killer perks that active with you doing nothing so going at windows of opportunity is pretty pathetic

the reason windows doesn’t require anything to activate is because it’s just an aura reading perk

Ultimate weapon was just an information perk too... Just saying

But Distortion and WoO didn't work, which was clearly unacceptable.

  • Sadly because of 3-gen feature it is way weaker just for the fact you can't combine it with Surge.

Eruption basically makes it gens have only 4 regression events, so it is very easy to block gens and it doesn't decrease progress by that much...

It's definitely valid of you combine it with nowhere to hide.

  • It's just terrible map for both sides.

If killer decides to hold 3-gen, survivors will lose.

If killer commits to underground, killer will lose.

There is an insane loop, which luckily not that many survivors use, but it's just so easy to get there with portal basically from anywhere against M1 killers.

It's not that difficult to win as SWF when you have everyone running underground after first hit... Kinda like Garden of joy used to be.

Which doesn't really work when Sabo was just buffed.

  • So basically rework bad perk to be different bad perks…

  • I have seen it happen to other streamers.

One instance when it always work is when Vecna tries to lift the pallet and you vault it. The pallet is going to be lifted after you finish the vault and you can immediately drop it.

It happened few times when I lifted a pallet and wanted to just run through, survivor was able to stun before I could attack. I didn't figure out why it happened…
20:33 Ayrun for some reason managed to drop it faster than usual and I am pretty sure Vecna was not able to attack in time.

Maybe it is related to ping?

it doesn't take an expert to see this killer is oveertuned.

Especially with the way that Flight of dammed purple skellys ability to insta-damage when they are spawned inside of a survivor. that doesn't happen with huntress hatches….

It's not really instant and you can see, he is about to cast it on his animation.

He needs to be in very specific range and if you crouch and have anything to vault next to you, or can drop pallet, you can even medium vault it before he is able to attack.

The power does not barely work, it actually works quite well, because the survivor cannot immediately Re drop the pallet when you lift it up again, and the blocking pallet thing did not get changed, it is still fairly decent. Whereas destroying the pallet is something many killers can do on far less of a cooldown than him, despite with more slowdown afterwards... It is not really something special.

the survivor cannot immediately Re drop the pallet when you lift it up again,

It is kinda buggy right now and there are times where survivor can actually drop it before you can attack as Vecna.

Umm...OK, well, this is a discussion about Lethal Pursuer. If you want to join the rest of us, you're more than welcome. What this isnt is a discussion about gen slow down. If you wanna discuss that, go ahead in another thread. Also this will be my last response to you because all you seem to want to do now is channel the energy of a 12 year old kid that isnt getting their way.

Said the guy uses "handouts" in argument...

You can't even describe property why is it supposed to get bad, just try to frame it with name as a bad thing.

All I see is git gud situation.

the current way to use flight of the damned in my opinion is to spawn skeletons on top of the survivor. It is legit only good way to use the ability because the skeleton injure immediately as soon as they spawn. You use the ability like Pinhead's gateway where you spawn it right on top of the survivor and they instant take damage. It is little bit like a better Pyramid head Punishment of the damned because you can use this when the survivor is in perfect animation lock such as vaulting a pallet or window. You just need correct spacing to use the ability.

I didn't want to say much about this ability but Hens put a video out so i might as well just say it now.

The thing about fly is that if a loop is long and survivor already commited far enough away from the pallet where loop is long enough, it can be used as chase tool. the counter-play of course is just camping the window/pallet and sliding over but something this isn't possible.

Yeah, I am watching it now. We have tested it and it's not really true it's impossible to dodge (some survivors did it in his video), simply because you have animation, so if survivor is looking at you, they can so you casting it. Right just most survivors, don't know it is possible.

I catched my friend on this first time on loop, but later on it was basically 50/50, if I use it or not, issue is next to standing pallet, if survivor crouch, then you won't get the hit (you can't attack after casting).

I still get annoyed it's just impossible to use properly at distance, why is there extra distance addon? Let me at least hit survivors on gen and healing, then I am happy with it… I would love to try to go for some long range snipes.

What no the pallet at 3:46 isn't a god pallet? It's a normal pallet loop.

Now regarding the pick up while the survivor is vaulting, that I do not know about either. I can see that not working however, as you mentioned.

How the hell this worked? (20:32) I don't think Vecna was able to attack him in time, I had this happened few times during the testing (survivor dropped the pallet faster, than I could attack), but I didn't find why.

No, I said that I ignore the perks because theyre not relevent to me. Im OK with gen slowdown. I never said ignore perks in general. Im not OK with killers being given a handout at the start of the match and being given a huge advantage over survivors while killers are already overperforming. If youre going to be disingenuous theres really no point in responding to you anymore.

Lethal pursuer is not relevant for me, so your arguments are invalid.

Okay so the main ones I would go for straight away on your list are Adam,Vittorio,Renato,Oni...I'm sorry Jeff but your going to need to wait a bit even though your my main. But seriously give them some voice lines and you got yourself a deal.

I would definetly want Aunt Ethel :D

That is a good question sadly I wouldn't full know. Because I feel like if I say one then I technically am wrong because it doesn't fit the original characters lore. But if you got any ideas I wouldn't mind hearing.

    Wyll ⇒ Adam
    Minthara ⇒ Zarina
    ShadowHeart ⇒ Kate
    Asterion ⇒ Vittorio
    Gale ⇒ Renato
    Halsin ⇒ Jeff
    Jaheira ⇒ Sable
    Minsc ⇒ David

    Karlach ⇒ Oni
    Laezel ⇒ Hag
    Aunt Ethel ⇒ Clown
    Ketheric ⇒ Knight
    Orin ⇒ Spirit
    Gortash ⇒ Trapper

Now regarding the pick up while the survivor is vaulting, that I do not know about either. I can see that not working however, as you mentioned.

So did lot of testing with my friend:

    Mage hand
If survivor is ready on pallet, they can drop it quite fast when they get on other side, so you have to be very close to them (that might actually improved when lifting up pallet is slower)

Also if they start vaulting animation, then pallet will be lifted after it and they can drop it immediately (not sure if that's not a bug). I am not able to attack (after casting a spell) faster then they can drop the pallet.

    Flight of the damned:
There is no way you can do it on reaction, so you definetly need to do it in advance.
I have tried to spawn them as soon I saw item disappear (survivor is going to vault) and on fast vault they can easily crouch.

Basically the range, where I was able to do it on reaction, I am able to just lunge attack instead…

Btw skeletons are not able to hit survivors working on gens and healing… Sorry, but that just shouldn't work. I would definetly want to be able surprise survivors with it. What is even the point of that range addon otherwise?

What survivor can do is when they see you prepare skeletons, they can crouch and then vault. They are even able to medium vault, if I am too close to them (because they can start vaulting faster) and I am able to only watch…

So it is not that good even for this.

For skeletons, I would reduce delay before you can attack. It doesn't make sense for it to be so limited, when there are 2 counter plays.

    Fly:
Completely useless for windows and pallets, because survivor is able to vault back and I am not able to attack.
