Yes. And since you get a lot of value out of this perk combo against medkits, that means it's a good perk combo against medkits. That's how it works.
Isn't it fun to be rude and condescending to people for no reason?
If you think this comment was rude and condescending, you didn't read my comments to opposite of smart opinions.
Just because he didn't agree with you, it doesn't mean he is rude. He just wrote how it works and he is right.

Play against it and you shall see. I think if you only play one side your opinion on the matter is basically invalid, since you don't know how the other side works. Thank you.
And may I add how the devs don't play their game where balancing usually feels misguided, and in some case actually pointless?
And while I'm at it let me reverse the question: Do you wish to play against 4 hardcore genrushers every single game who loop you for eternity?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3743597#Comment_3743597
It's not that nerf requests are requested more and more just for the heck of it. It's most of the time a balance or mechanic issue that isn't addressed properly in the first place or the decision they made on the matter was from another time where it worked, but they didn't revert it or addressed it since (looking at ds & tunneling where DS was kept 3 seconds when tunneling and camping became insanely relevant just to say one, or COH and the entirety of healing getting nerfed [12 sec —> 16 sec heals & COH 100% eff. SC basically, to 75%, later 50% then only heal speed boosting, and also gutting medkits basically making them weak [you can't get 2 heals without perks or with luck + add-ons]).
The only part that bugs me about this is about someone dropping the item by their own decision. Franklin's doesn't work on it, so why does WA do tho? Also most lobbies usually run 4 items (but 2 as a minimum I've seen recently) now, the perk has a 12 meter radius, gives 30 second oblivious on pickup (if I'm not mistaken). Let's compare it to it's counterpart basically which is Wiretap basically.
Wiretap has a 14 meter range, 120 second duration, gives a minimal info on undetectable killers (if they kick the associated generator) and has a prerequesite of half a generator being complete before applying it to any generator that has even a sliver of progression. The perk is deactivated if it's timer is up, or the killer damages the generator.
Let's compare this to WA.
The aura reading zone is very big (by area, the radius doesn't sound terrible until you do the math) it can last the whole game, it can be countered only 3 ways: Bring a perk against it (Distortion, Shadow step or Off the Record) where neither of them helps too much in the situation, Bring Object of Obsession to constantly have a staring contest against each other, or put items in a useless corner.
In my opinion it's slightly overtuned because of the fact that it has 2 effects that are pretty valuable. Counteractable even if only slightly, but still. I would reduce it's radius by 2 or 4 meters at max, and chip a bit away from the oblivious effect, or something has to be done with Franklin's. But this needs to be addressed too sooner or later just like the 3-gen hostage meta was. Or the Bully Squads, or the "Ruin single handedly stalling games for a decade" time was addressed.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3743889#Comment_3743889
They are not useless, as in fact as a person who prefers survivor I know all perks effects, and let me tell you a good 15-20% of the perks is only that bad that they need some stitching, others are as you mentioned, are more situational, however all of them can be used to gather value one way or another. (Some perks of the stiching category: Premonition, This is Not Happening, Borrowed Time [not entirely useless just an enhance I think more than a perk now], Up the Ante [Too situational, and an abysmal effect that is Luck], Chest perks all together for looting gets less and less relevant besides tomes usually, or you open chests without them [Plunderer's, Ace in the Hole, Apprasial mainly], etc.). On killer side there are a couple of these too. The perks wouldn't be bad, they are just old and need a little fine tuning, or synergies built into the perks themselves.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3743882#Comment_3743882
You may never know when flashbang squads or residual manifest gangs start being meta :D . And just as a side note Lightborne is not neccessary either, because most of the times the blind will barely matter, or you look into a wall anyways.
Play with it and you shall see. I think if you only play one side your opinion on the matter is basically invalid, since you don't know how the other side works. Thank you.

Leatherface has an addon that causes survivors items to drop when hit with his chainsaw. I think that might be the only power based addon that does this.
But it's so weird to see complaints about a 2 perk combo for aura reading after killers running full slowdown builds were just complained about and recently nerfed.
Legion and Twins can do it too

In my case reason is simply I am collector. I get annoyed when I miss something.
That's why I buy all new DLCs even when I don't want to play killer and prestige even when I am not interested in their perks.

Jumping in to add that yes. Hex: Two Can Play is bad. But it's objectively a really really funny Meme Perk in the way Blast Mine is kinda funny as a "NO U" perk, so it's fine in that niche. Sometimes perks can just be sorta funny.
I don't think Blast mine is a bad perk...
Two can play is a bad perk.
You can be meme AND good perk at the same time.

If you constantly get 4k's with hag with surge and ruin you're ether a god at hag OR you didn't win enough to get good survivors. I play almost constantly against people with 2k to 9k hours and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't win a lot of them with hag and that build xD
To survivor: I feel like the killers are pretty balanced for me, but my teammates are often potatos that think it's funny to cleanse against hag next to my chase. I don't think it's nessasary a problem for me at least because I should get people that are at least okay if I get a higher mmr, but I see why people don't like it like this and they should probably try fixing it .
Issue is survivors under 1k hours simply don't know how to play against Hag, because she is just rare to play against and noone bothers to do research.

I guess ^^ but would it then not get nerfed by enduring on the killer? And therefore be kind of useless again xD Because of the survivor is blind while you cannot move... How does that benefit you? ^^ Especially when you get stunned longer xD
I wouldn't use Enduring with it. Just use it to annoy survivors with it as much as possible.
Enduring would get only stuns basically on current level, but blind would be still longer.

Maybe he just mean the general idea of it and not the numbers themselves? I mean if the perk blinds you for like 3-5 seconds it might be quite good.
True, I would make it same duration as stun/blind.
Would be funny combined with dark arrogance to make it last longer. The perk would finally not be so bad...

it is a good perk idk being blind when u stun the killer is pretty good
It is hex with requirement on top of it, where effect is worse than normal perk. In what world is that good?
The duration is shorter than blind/stun killer gets and it's not difficult to run blind on most maps, especially for such a short duration.
It's so bad I wouldn't even consider it noob stomping perk.

Kind of, but people tend to just pre drop against spirit fury, while they might still take the stun in certain situations, I'm not entirely familiar with the perk, but since it also works with blinds... Does it also work with perks like blast mine or stuns that are not induced by pallets?
Spirit fury will work once, and then people just pre drop ^^
I guess, unless they don't expect it, I think it could use a bit of a numbers change.
Well, predrop is also going to deny main part of this hex. Blind is 100% optional too.
If people do it anyway, then it kinda means the perk is simply not threatening enough for survivors to even care and try to counterplay it.
Just a fact that survivors are not able to greed and have to predrop against Spirit fury can save you lot of time and survivors not always have chance to predrop.
-
@Archol123 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3743130#Comment_3743130
Combine it with enduring I guess, just because a synergy exists does not suddenly make it a good combo ^^ It is also a quite fun idea that the survivor suddenly gets blinded ^^ So maybe it serves a purpose as a meme perk.
Obviously there are better perks, which is why I said it is not a good perk... Enduring is a good perk.
When you want to use Enduring, then Spirit fury is way better combination, no?
Counterplay is exactly same, but Spirit fury is almost guaranteed to give you hit/down.
Short blind is kinda irrelevant, when many players can run blinded anyway.

Because the entire survivor side has to change the way they play because a busted combo exists, the counter requires 4 people reacting to it perfectly, how many times do you see people split up against legion or avoid doubling up on generators. Most of the rounds are chaos weather people know about the combo or not, and the fact that its used so frequently that the entire playerbase knows about it without even seeing it on a videoor a site like this
So it is broken because it's soloQ stomper?
How is that different to Pinhead, Legion, Skully?
You have perks that change how you need to play the game. Lightborn, Spirit fury+enduring, knockout, most hex perks, tinkerer.
You have to play differently against most killers. If you play against Artist, or Dredge same way you play against Clown, then it won't end well for you.
This is simply not unique to this combination, so I don't see how is it different now.
And how is first 10 seconds of match whole different way of playing?
-

Lol, imagine if you could ban specific item.
Wraith and Oni would be way more fun, if I could ban medkits.
No need for lightborn, just ban flashlights :D
I simply don't think any ban system has place in DBD unless they want to bring some ranked mode, which I doubt.
-
@Heliosse said:
What about the opposite ?
You can choose like 1-3 killers to favor (the MMR will try to match you with these killers) meaning the Blight lovers can play with them and i can take the everhated Xenomorph or PH from everyone.
I am not sure I would want to play weak killers, when I know, players I am going to play against want to play against me.
You have perks that can hard counter some killer powers, so feature that will make you more likely to play against the specific killer could be heavily abused.

You are the only person who is using the word "weak" here.
The point is that the Killer powers are stronger. And this cannot really be denied. (e.g. breaking a Pallet remotely is way stronger than putting up an Event Pallet)
So issue is not that survivor's tools are weak. They are good enough.
Whole complain is killer's tools better and survivors are jealous?
-
@Rudjohns said:

Why people think survivors abilities in event are weak?
Blocking window is very annoying on some maps.
Quiet mode is amazing overall. I get to experience old Iron Will as Jeff main again...
Pallet is better was SWF, but if you use it for pallet saves, there is not much killer can do, if you time it well. Otherwise it is decent unless killer has Enduring...

@ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:
Most are missing the point. Its about as big of a deal as buckle up ftp combo was. The kill rates with this combo speak for themselves. Sure i check to see if they have it, then go drop my item at the corner of the map. But the others dont, they get slapped, it drops in the bushes and reveals anyone going for a hook save/ a generator/ or just walks by for the rest of the match because noone can find the item thats giving away their position. Its also being used so often that many lobbies are just afraid to bring items anymore. It can be used as a camping tool like a reverse kindred, and many other things. Especially on multi floor maps. Its the most busted aura seeing combo. And thats all ontop of how strong franklins was beforehand because people want to go back for their items even more now.
How is that same thing?
You wasn't able to check FTP+Buckle up and there wasn't really anything you could do except wait 10 seconds, or just had to hit twice.
You said yourself, there is a counterplay to Weave attunement.
If people are scared to bring items that means they know about this combination, so why not simply check it and counter it?
-
@Royval said:
or just buy them?
There is many killers where everyone is different and outside of watching someone else play it, you don't have much information to decide who to buy.
So for new players, it is simply gamble every time they buy a killer. If they don't like, they just wasted money.
For some people, it's not so little to pay.
That just seems as terrible system to me. Just one of reasons to never want start playing DBD from scratch.

no it’s not 🤣 if a survivor is running around picking up items to move to the edge of the map, they’re not on gens = gg. if they pick up their item, the killer can SEE that, survivor gets oblivious = dead
nice way to call everyone a noob because they lose to someone who can see their aura 24/7, i would LOVE to see you play against someone with this build, without object of obsession.
im complaining because i shouldn’t have to run a perk EVERY game in the chance that someone will bring this dumb op combo and stomp the lobby. i’m complaining because object is locked behind a paywall. im complaining for my people darling. the survivor mains.
it’s broken on EVERY map. doesn’t matter what map doesn’t matter where. it is broken full stop. i cant understand how you fail to see this? but then again i can. i see you comment on almost every survivor post on this forum.
no it’s not 🤣 if a survivor is running around picking up items to move to the edge of the map, they’re not on gens = gg. if they pick up their item, the killer can SEE that, survivor gets oblivious = dead
If you get into that point, you already screwed it.
Nothing is stopping you from checking first second of the match and getting rid of item asap, if killer has it. At that point it's lethal pursuer in two perks.
i would LOVE to see you play against someone with this build, without object of obsession
I am the one who always try to drop item to check and just give call out to my team to drop items.
I don't see how is that difficult to do.
it’s broken on EVERY map.
Not true, most maps in DBD have a spot where killer is not going to get value if you drop your item there.
Midwitch, probably put it into bathroom.
The Game probably basement, but make sure to not get down nearby

I think I have suggested something in the past and I think it would overall be a good idea.
Unfortunately the only way we can try DLC characters currently it by being forced to by them, meaning we are not able to make more educated decisions on rather we enjoy the characters. Giving us access to all perks in Custom Games is nice, but I dont think it is enough.
I think the Training mode, where you can only play against bots would be really good solution too.
It's not against players, so that might be fine even for licenced characters. It would be more than enough for testing and kinda first impression, so you have something based on you can decide what killer to buy.
-
Most survivors under 1k hours simply don't know how to deal with her.
But whenever you get a team who know, you are not going to enjoy that game... Unless you use Shackles, that makes it more difficult to deal with.

That's kinda the point, but you can heavily abuse it.
If you run into trap looking back and holding S, unless she has addon for reduced range / shackles, she is never going to hit you immediately.
Basically trap turns your camera towards the trap and you immediately starts running away. Kinda brainless.

I've heard conflicting things about whether or not it prevents DS. If it does, consistently, that's a problem and something they should fix for next time, absolutely.
I think with DS it depends when survivor gets skill check.
Basically skill check needs to be early (I don't know how much) for you to use it in time, otherwise killer can hook you.
I think it works even with normal hooking, but you need to be right under the hook, which is kinda rare to happen.

a key has charges. runs out eventually. this perk is constant aura reading across like the majority of the map. i play with object on because of how unfair and brainless this perk is. i see the killers aura 24/7. and it’s funny that the moment i can see their aura too they either dc or lose. because they no longer have that advantage of knowing my every move and the ability to win every mind games.
if you’re defending this perk it tells me everything i need to know about you and your boring play style.
this perk is constant aura reading across like the majority of the map
The value of that perk is fully in control of survivors. If killer got so much aura reading, you screwed it.
I have never used that combination, simply because it works only on noobs and I don't really need a perk against those.
If survivors give up their items in corner of map, I just lost two perks.
I don't really get why are you complaining when you use Object of obsession. That's ultimate counter perk against this. You can drop your item on purpose in most main buildings and killer is screwed.
Basically only maps where it is kinda broken are Midwitch and The Game. But BHVR didn't mind how it works with boons, so it shouldn't be an issue now.
-
Lol...
GG = good game
It's not my problem if you consider it good or not. Unless it was something like DC/suicide on first hook, I will probably write it.

Key has addon to show you killer's aura on demand.
And there is several perks to show you a killer's aura on location, or after action.
While hooked, after unhooking, while standing still, after dropping a pallet, when killer kicks anything, when hitting great skill check, after finishing generator, after healing slugged survivor, when survivor gets injured, whenever killer sees you.

Meh not so sure about that. FoTD and Fly would be pretty decent if they were on a low cooldown. But of course there are killers with powers stronger than Vecna's spells, that is true.
Skeletons even on 10 seconds cool down as single power is still terrible. Just compare it with Pyramid head, or Artist.
Fly would be also terrible, I can just wait on pallet/window and you won't down me there. So Billy, Blight, Nurse, Chucky in comparison?
If you compare any of his power to other killers, they are just terrible versions of those.
That means underpowered to me. But they should be for sure, but right now I think they are too underpowered when you combine with (still) huge cool down and attack delays after his power.
