Jaws killer! or even a dinosaur from jurassic park! I'd love to see a tyrannosaurus bite people over loops similar to "My Little Oni", and even with a spinosaurus skin!

They should get rid of the SOS and replace that with a market with all perks in it
Then they could have a "sale" on a few perks every week (or so)
Doing this will have newer players happy that they can have all perks being available to them and veterans will be happy that the perks they are missing are available (the ones that don't have all characters unlocked)
That would be incredible, but I dont think thats within BHVR's capacity

"incredibly hard to play" 🤣
found the person that doesn't play nurse

Nurse is perfectly fine atm, shes incredibly hard to play and mistakes cost her the game

ever since the update, there has been atleast 5 stuttering issues in each of my games whether it be survivor or killer

The Bob train ain't stopping

a setting for in game screams to be quieter will make my ears so happy, especially as someone who uses their ears alot! Please BHVR <3

I do think that the OP is right in this case. When you dodge a billy saw, or the billy makes a mistake, they should be punished for it, and lose some distance on the survivor. This is fine, because billy has the mobility to catch back up, but it's not complete cheese because in the state he is now, you CANNOT escape him unless you have a pallet or a map offering (lmfao)
-
That's a mechanic. While cloaked, the wraith can body block windows & pallets if you're waiting there. You can sometimes bodyblock the wraith, but he has favour. Even if you're standing at a pallet, if you move slightly inward, that can activate his generous bodyblock hit box.
TLDR: It's just part of his power

12 seconds is a very very small amount of time. Keep in mind that chases are balanced around lasting 45 seconds, and after a killer has downed a survivor it will take them
- 2.7 second wipe animation
- 3 second pickup animation
- ~8 seconds to walk to a hook
- 1.5 second hook animation
- For a total of 15.2 seconds
My point here isn't that it counters that or anything, its simply a time estimate. 12 seconds is LESS TIME than it takes for a killer, who has already downed a survivor, to pick the survivor up off the ground and hook them, which is a fundamental thing that happens nearly every single game and multiple times at that.
Grim embrace isn't meant to have a "counter" so to speak, it is a perk that actively encourages the killer to spread pressure and hook multiple different survivors instead of tunneling someone out. Therefore, if you hard tunnel someone out, you aren't getting value out the of the perk, and you may as well just have 3 perks. Thus the "counter" to grim embrace, is that in order to use it effectively, multiple survivors are going to get hooked and thus will have more time in the game of having 4 survivors in the match.
Would you rather the perk not exist at all and we just continue on with the meta of hard tunneling someone out of the game as fast as possible?
I mean sure, but keep in mind this is across EVERY SINGLE GEN, and an additional 30 secs of blocking when all survivors are hooked. That's guarenteed 66 seconds of slowdown, which adds up with more people on different gens, and without any other perks involved. Deadlock is one of the strongest killer perks in the game because it has guarenteed 2 mins of slowdown, now imagine that, with DMS and Grim Embrace. We're getting into pre-nerf Hex: Ruin levels of slowdown. The perk on it's own is fine, but the ability to stack multiple un-counterable slowdown effects is gonna make survivor feel awful to play, and is very powerful.

Things were pretty chill until I was watching the stream. I was SO hyped to see Lights Out and the fact it was more than just "hehehe darkness". All of my excitement faded into disappointment and genuine anger when I found out that it would only stay for a week and then be gone. You're telling me we've been waiting 7 years and can't have this as a permanent other mode until we can rotate it with a new mode? Even worse, we can't play it in CUSTOM? To me, the devs dropped the ball and I know that by not buying their stuff and not playing the game just on my own isn't going to amount to anything which is why I'm speaking on this publicly. I'd like for people to not allow stuff like this to happen and just be complacent with it. These are simple adjustments which they can't be bothered to do and it's pissing me off. I don't hate the game. I'm only against the thought process of only including the mode for a week and then never again when we won't have a new mode for another few months afterwards.
It's okay brother, take many months off. I had to take an 11 month break from the game before I even got a spark of enjoyment from the game again.

Typical lazy survivor reply.
First of all Grim Embrace does nothing if nobody gets hooked.
If someone got hooked, continue working like usual until killer leaves the hooked survivor and triggers Grim Embrace. If you were working on safe generator, wait for 12 seconds and see if generator gets unblocked. If it does, then killer doesn't have Dead Man's Switch and you can continue working. If generator remains blocked, then killer has Dead Man's Switch which means generators get blocked for 30 seconds ( that time is usually 25 - 28 seconds instead because DMS triggers on hook but does nothing against generators that are being worked upon unless interrupted, Grim Embrace only interrupts survivor without making DMS last longer or adding anything to regression ).
Once you figure out that killer has both DMS and GE, you simply wait until someone gets hooked and GE does trigger ( if survivor was hooked already then GE won't trigger unless everyone gets hooked once ) then you just continue working on gen ignoring DMS entirely ( if generator is safe ).
People love exaggerate things when they are slightly pushed out of their comfort zone. It's pity they refuse to adapt to changes and instead expect or even demand that things do cater their taste all the time.
TLDR: just wait 12 seconds. So... you cant counter Grim Embrace. Cool.
Also, you dont consider that killers have legs and can walk to the gen you're working on after you wait out the 12 seconds, what then?
Ummmm, just bring BNPs!
:/

I agree on some of your points, as I think BHVR really dont know what they're doing at all, but I dont think base-kit corrupt intervention would be good idea. I think it would be lovely for m1 killers, but the root of the problem is theres a whole bunch of killers with powers that shorten chase, and a whole bunch of killers who don't, and those who don't are at the bottom of the food chain. I'm not a game developer, but I'm sure they can implement some sort of mechanic that acknowledges the desparity between ghostface and wesker, and helps change the game (IN SUBTLE WAYS) that helps both types of killers become closer in power.
-
Update: Vaults feel alot better now, but I kinda gotta run Resilience every game :|
-
I mean then the feature doesnt benefit gameplay whatsoever, if a killer is face-camping, they've already lost

How would voice comms help? Would you yell at your teammates to do generators?
You know that in a lot of team games with voice comms, it degrades into a bunch of people yelling at each other, and telling each other what to do?
What are you going to do if you have a lone wolf survivor, that isn’t doing generators because they are literally just hiding and waiting for everyone else to die? Are you just going to yell at them the entire game?
I never said anything about voice comms, I'm asking for a long lasting solution that can benefit solo q survivors, and bring it to the level of harmonised friends.
-
I played as I wanted, which consisted of proxy camping and tunneling. Toxic is a subjective term but I called it that to explain that I play both sides, have played as nice and as mean as I wanted to, but it still feels if I'm playing solo Q, I'm gonna lose 75% of the time

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/380720/why-is-the-community-still-whining
Gen speeds are not fine, solo is not fine, tunneling is not fine, perk meta is not fine, accessibility could use some work. I don't know where this idea came from that things have been changed so now the game is perfect it's still FAR from it
compared to when BT wasn't basekit, and you had perks with essentially no counter, I'd say the game is in a pretty good state.
-
Too complicated for the indie game company BHVR interactive
-
Because, Like you can bring 4 BNP and instantly repair a generator, the killer can make one survivor not have any fun and get them crying on the forums when the other 3 most likely escape because the killer isn't pressuring any gens. Your teammates could have taken hits for you, your teammates could've healed you, you could have used more pallets maybe, either way it doesn't matter, move on to the next game, no point winging
-
Camping has always been an issue, and they will be implementing a solve to pure face camping soon.
But I feel if BHVR punishes killers even more in regards to unhooks and such, it's gonna feel really restrictive.
If someone plays killer they should have the freedom to throw the game and chase one person down the whole game. Sure, that survivors not gonna have fun, but the killer will surely lose, and survivors have tools at their disposal to save that survivor.
BP wise, everyone is grinding, and punishing BP I don't think will really change anything.
My recommendation: Just queue into the next game and hope it's a normal game (remember to bring cake!)
-
That's completely fine.
Taking a long, LONG, break is a great idea. I also said that I essentially "quit" the game almost 10 months ago and now I've been playing and started enjoying it again.
Play some other games, maybe find a new hobby, etc, I'm sure you'll find something you'll like to do.
And some time far in the future you can decide if you wanna pick up this old saddle once again.
I salute you chief, good luck

Recharge is very good but it's still good to learn to play without it, I don't player her with recharge which means I have to wait a few seconds after fatigue before I can blink but that's about it. It'll probably feel terrible after taking it off but it's always best to learn a killer without add ons to play them to the best extent.
-
I don't use meta perks, just aura reading perks. So I dont have to worry except for bbq, if that is changed to the point of nonviableness I'd probably just use floods of rage.

Nurse without add-ons would truly be limited to people who put an obscene amount of time into her.
I play with the yellow recharge add-on no matter what. Months away from even considering taking it off.
Interesting, just curious how many blink attacks do you have on her?

Overall, the 6th year anniversary stream promised a lot of good things coming up. I'm just a bit worried about the overhaul to meta perks. Yes, dead hard/ BT feels unfair. NOED too. But Corrupt? DS? Pain resonance? Pop? Self-care? BBQ? Ruin? I have no problem with any of them. Even if you nerf the current meta, a new one will emerge next. What should be looked at, in my opinion, is if a perk is really unfun/ unfair to go against. And many meta perks seems fine to me. But, well, i did get surprised with changes in the past... maybe it'll be the same.

I think they should completely remove perks that virtually give you a second chance. Throw all of them in the bin, and build the base game mechanics to deal with problems like camping and tunneling.

Me too, and I know it sucks to miss a blink because of one BUTTON but you can just easily bait it and then down them in the next blink, DH will save you against a Nurse once but it cannot extend a chase to the level that it can against other people
Against a good survivor, no you can't. If they break line of sight (which they will), you need to use your first blink to get LOS or close enough and then use your chain for the hit. You don't have the facilities to "bait it out", they just get a free extra health state and it makes chases just not fun after a dead hard.

Yea like, you caught up to the survivors because
1. They knew they could play the loop once more because of dead hard
2. You're literally faster than them
3. You could be bloodlusting, which is the killer making a mistake looping (in most cases) and getting literal free speed (and folks, this is actually "free" because it requires no perk slots etc, it's just a speed boost, not the 'free' dead hard because you equipped it kind of free)
I play nurse.

Sprint Burst is coming to get you more frustrated if they hard nerf DH. A good SB usage is way more efficient than DH. Be prepared.
Can't wait for the SB nerf threads. We all know killer mains forum strategy.
Nerf nerf nerf!!!
It won't. Sprint burst is skillful, dead hard is not. It's as simple as that. Even if sprint burst is arguably stronger, I'd rather get outplayed by a sprint burst user than an e presser

yeah true, I still wouldn't call them buffs, there just small changes that improve QOL. i can actually impact my gameplay with add ons on ghostie now? Cool! I'll still be looped to oblivion with MMR in the game.
-
They've spent too much time on it, now they're attached to their work and it's here forever. Good thing is the playerbase isn't!
-
She doesn't need a nerf. She's hard to pick up, has a massive skill ceiling, the only reason people whine on the forums is because it's hard to understand how to counter a nurse. It's easier when you've played her before, break LOS, decide to hold w or double back. If you pull off a successful double back you get 40+ seconds of chase automatically. The fact is, she's unsual, but when you learn to counter her she's very risk reward. The main goal is to get distance whenever she's in fatigue. Just pactice and you'll learn how to beat a nurse.

Nurse. Blinking as nurse feels so fast and free, just the little things like not having to worry about pallets or windows. Of course, good survivors will counter you by breaking LOS, but the ability to traverse multiple floors and walls in seconds just feels so nice. I like that the most about her, getting skilled at her and becoming "strong" with her is kind of a secondary thing for me.
