Killers have been tunneling since the beginning of the game.
They do it because it's easy and effective, not because they necessarily need to.
But yes, please continue your mindless us vs them.
Only real way to get tunneling down is to make a insensitive not to tunnel. Hard merding it isn't the solution and the Devs won't do that because they already said they won't hard Nerf it....
Best suggestion I saw was to make Hook States count for something....while alos making it so they can't hook the same survivor twice to get the bonus....
This would lead sadly to clone squads of survivors to try and mess with the Killer

Plenty of killers don't camp or tunnel and win because they're playing against potatoes or solo q. Content creators do the same because they take the game seriously because it is their income, unlike most of the player base who are bad at the game and don't take it seriously.
It's the same in R6 Seige and other games.....those who take the game seriously or okay as a income have skills way higher than your average player.
Heck even I'm R6 playing ranked will get those players who will ta k thier rank/MMR to just play against lower skilled player. Is usedy tracker on some peeps the other day and found out 3 of them ranked in the top diamond rank while I was ranked in copper
What I'm getting at is DbD is not special with these types of players and there is nothing Devs can do to stop them. Every patch it's either big nerfs to Killers and good buffs to Survivors and then next patch they see the balance is tipped to far and they do the opposite.....it's a never ending cycle.

I personally havent experienced anything different when it comes to the aim dressing
Even back when I first got my switch I tried out DbD on it and despite the bad frames and the supposedly harsher aim dressing, I didnt really notice much of a difference. (That being said I didnt have that big of a sample size)
I have noticed it more when the Survivor I'm chasing has similar colors as the objects around them like Kate with bright yellows or oranges on a farm map. I notice my aim drags more towards hay bails.
Like I said if it's more than like 70% misses then it's definitely a skill issue

Ok I get that, but if some one is missing the large majority of their swings thats largely on them.
Not really done has broken with aim dressing after patch. I have had more times it would move my aim away from Survivors because it thinks they are turning when they are not.
Yes missing more than your hitting is more player error but something is off with the dressing more than usual

It's not the perk problem that your teammates don't use it correctly. I have already had some solo matches with good players, where this perk decided the outcome of match as it was before his "nerf".
I too have got use out of it as a soloQ....my usual build is CoH, shadow step, bot knowledge and Lithe. That has been good to me with the recent changes

I agree, and it doesn't matter if he was toxic or not. The problem is that he did something that goes against the rules. It's not about slugging, but about being stuck in the game. I opened a ticket on the company's website with his SteamID and all the photos. I hope he is punished, and they finally take some action about this and some of the game's problems. There are several new games in the scene that copy DBD and have already solved various problems that DBD hasn't resolved in six years, such as slugging and camping. You get up after 45 seconds on the ground, and if you camp too close, it doesn't count towards the death time.
All your doing is wasting the time of someone in the reporting center and keeping them away from real reports. Nothing you said is holding the game hostage.
He slugged you and refused to pick you up.....Not holding the game hostage as you will die from Bleedout
They then picks you up before you bleed out and dont take you to a hook.....not Holding the game hostage as you CAN wiggle free.
Even if he won't knock you down after you break free that's not holding the game hostage as you can just do gens.....
As someone said there are few things considered holding the game hostage.......pinning a survivor in a corner for a extended period of time and refusing to move is one...... survivors refusing to do gens especially at a 3-gen and just locker hoping to avoid afk crows is considered holding the game hostage.......there are a few others but I can't think of them off hand.

aint no skill issue its situations where it is the only pallet or window that is available with no other ones to go to if he chooses to block that only one ther and most wraiths uses those op uncloaking add ons. Dont act as if that aint a thing.
Why I love lightburn is i just sit on my gen and min mr ding dong thing he gonna get a hit its a instant flash bang and easy get away with it and parental guidance. Now flashbang feels dull with him not being able to be burned.
I have NEVER been hit by a uncloaking Wraith that I knew was there or going for a obvious block. Even with his OP addons ...really... And tbh that could be part of the reason....with flashlights there's a chance wraith wouldn't get burned but FB it's unavoidable.
-
@lifeisstrange said:
Removing off lightburn off wraith was very stupid, I dont care its gone off nurse cause honestly it was near impossible to even get one on her, only maybe got 2 lightburns in the 3 years of playing, artist birds still can be rid of via locker so np there, removing it off hag was a nerf since usually flashlights=a hag would franklins it and her traps safe but now we can simply wipe it(not saying i dont mind that but thats a nerf to her as she is a pretty tough killer to use , yet yall buff one of the easiest killer for even beginners players, by removing it off wraith was way too much, he easily can catch up to survivors in the breath of an eye, + always notorious of blocking off a window/pallet when you try run to it, if lightburn cant return back to him then we should be able to go through him when he is cloaked
Finally with all these aura reading perks killers have I think killer instinct should be gone since its pretty much something that can be use to find survivors no matter where they are at(lockers dont even work on that) and there is no perk that counters killer instinct. Wesker/Neme getting that alert if you cure yourself/ mend simulator uses it to injure everyone on your team lil to no effort(spread out strat dont work on tiny ity bity maps on legion only big maps). I think honestly only killer its actually fair on cause he does sorta need it is triangle head.
Ok let's see where to start ahh yes Lightburn on Wraith....he didn't need it. It was a WAY outdated mechanic that saw little use. If a Wraith blocking a window is getting you...I'm sorry that's a bit of a skill issue.
Yes Wraith while cloaked is a F-1 race car but can't do anything while cloaked and has to ding-a-ling and phase out to even be a threat, even then the decloak time is long enough to get ouside of lunge range especially after they nerfed his decloak lunge speed. Also if you see a Wraith running to a window or vault to block it why would you continue to run towards it. Wraith is only a threat when they are in Hit and Run mode.
KI is a weak information gathering tool for Killers....it's like the motion sensor in Aliens. It tracks movement but only a threat if you stand still. The delay in pings gives just a general area of where a survivor is at.......
Also....WHAT ITTY BITTY MAPS most are large and annoying to transverse u less you have a travel power killer.

meh. i think people should be allowed to avoid being matchmade with at least 1 person. there's one streamer i know i'd avoid if so. if it allowed anyone to just block everyone ofc it'd be abused but i'm hopeful they allow in the future not wanting to be matchmade with 1-2 people you actively do not like.
Ok let me put it this way.....X Streamer won't get blocked by just you...but let's say word gets out that people want to mess with X Streamer and then when he would have let's say 7,000 possible players to face it gets reduced to 500....this would limit how many games they could play because of even 1 person in that lobby of Survivors blocked them they could play against any of them....it's not fair for X Streamer because the block system would be HIGHLY abused to Target players

Oh, seems like I misunderstand the Block function, so there is no way to prevent matching with certain player?
No because then people would just start blocking people they don't want to face in general making it harder for those people to even get matches. It's the same if they did a Block Certain Killers

Sadly camping, proxy camping, tunneling, hook/pallet/Gen/chest/totem grabs are NOT toxic behavior. If they were you could report them for such behavior but BHVR has said these are vall valid strats.

No it's not lmao, actually comitting to chases is playing normally, dropping chase the moment u injure someone is definitely not playing normally
It is if it's a Hit and Run Killer. That's normal play style for them.....Hag, Wraith, Legion are just a few where their power is designed for Hit and Run and not chase.
-
Ok let me see here.....
Tunneling Strat......Hated (understandable)
Camping Strat.......Hated (Annoying Yes)
Gen Kick Strat........Hated
Chase Strat aka Anti Loop.......Hated
Now Hit and Run.......Hated
So is there any Strat that a Killer can use that won't be hated and "They should get rid of it". I know as a soloQ Survivor many Killer Strats are annoying but I see no issues with any Strat unless it's a full face camper Bubba....

What is the problem with toolbox?
Same with Sloppy, the only point of it is to stop fast healing.
The issues with Tool boxes and BNP along with Gen speed perks need to be looked at because now with even less Gen defense perks Gens are going faster then before.
One of the biggest complaints by Killers is how fast gens are repaired. This is magnified by the size of many maps, Gen speed perks, Toolboxes, BNP. Currently many Killers with no travel based power can lose at least 2 gens on large or complicated maps (like Treatment Theater and The Game) by the time they find where the Survivor's are.
One many things they can do is adjust maps sizes but with no cap to repair speeds this can still be a moot point.

Because BHVR has already said that the previous example IS holding a game hostage since the Survivors are not trying to advance the game.
I see no reason the same wouldn't apply to the Killer version of that.
It's is if let's say the Killer is just standing and attacking at anyone within arms reach but refuses to chase at all is holding the game hostage, but if the Killer does chase but won't be baited into a dead zone away from the Gens and goes back is not.
That's why 3-gens are done case by case in regards to "holding hostage" and needing video evidence is so important.

Tbf they rebranded all the perks just fine. They could literally just make a new killer and give it demo’s power with a new skin
Like for example a werewolf who can pounce and use tunnels. The only issue is bhvr would spend time on reskinning instead of making a new killer
Perks are one thing they are akin to DbD not Stranger Things, but Demo and his power is akin to Stranger Things sadly that's why they didn't reskin Hawkins (I'm glad I hated that map with a burning passion).
It would be similar if I took a bottle of Coke rip the lable off and put my own lable calling it VFuel. Coke can sue me for selling their product labeled as my own. To reskin Demo he would need a whole new power than the upside down.
-
@MrSlayer said:
Would it be possible to resking Demogorgon as something else like a werewolf or a moleman? I haven't played DBD when Demo was available and I don't want to pay 75-100$ to get him. Reskin as an original character should be possible, right?
Sadly no because even if they reskined Demopuppy the fact that below that it's the same licensed character. They would have to change his powers and everything to make it possible. At that point he wouldn't be Demo anymore.

Before the patch I was able to build a medkit that could do 3.5 to 4 full heals depending if I was in a CoH zone or not. That's what they wanted to fix because they saw more people healing themselves multiple times without worry.
The build I'm using that seems to work for me so far vs various Killers (haven't tested out against Skilly, Wesker, or Nurse) is CoH, ShadowStep, Self Heal, and Usually the 4th is Bot Knowledge

Only people who claim anti camping changes would be abused are gaslighting Killers. They did it with Reasurance and it was very creepy and incelish how manipulative they were about the topic. "Think about all the survivors that are gonna be held hostage!" said every face camping Bubba angry that survivors had a way to render their camping useless.
If a survivor wants out of a game, they can easily DC, preventing the survivor killing themselves on hook to avoid the penalty yet still leave the match is not a bad thing. And if survivors try to use it to WORK WITH THE KILLER and hold a survivor hostage forever , the survivor can easily open any recording program and show the 3 survivors working with the killer and BHVR will ban all 4 of them, same as they do for Body blocking.
Anti camping mechanics will not be abused.
You do know that wasn't gaslighting...that was actually happening on the PTB hence why people both Survivors and Killers were complaining about it and why it was changed.
Someone already posted two videos a few posts up.

SB is useful but you have to walk everywhere so you don't activate it. That's why SB was more fair than DH

My opinion before listening to them was already that the perk was dead, hearing their opinion afterwards just reinforced mine. My point was, why would he change my opinion with his narrowminded mindset when there are professionals with thousands of hours having the same opinion as me? I've played several hours a day and I've not encountered a single dead hard at end screen. Viable, no chance, you think you did something clever, get over yourself.
You just provedy point sadly. You called it yourself OPINIONS. Making it not facts no matter how these "professionals" say it DH is still a good perk and I have seen it use since the patch.
People call it a dead or useless perk now because they can only use it twice and are punished for being misplayed or making a mistake. If you were making the DH plays pre patch youll still make the plays.
If they share your opinion that's perfectly fine but at the end they are just that opinions and not facts. If someone doesn't share your opinion that's perfectly fine but don't start toting around "professionals said this....." Trying to change someones opinion or trying to disregard thier opinion when it doesn't match your own.

I recently got out of a game where my entire team got all 5 gens done and you know what happened? I got hit by a basic attack then instant killed on the ground with the killer's execution. All that time I spent working on gens, running away from the killer (I escaped him 2x) and at the very end of the game, I make a single mistake by assuming I can take 2 hits and instead get instant murdered. This is the type of stuff I'm talking about, it's not even a question if the game is balanced because it isn't. It feels obvious to me that if you play killer, most of your games will be chill with a plethora of game mechanics to assist you. Survivor, apparently to even have a decent shot at surviving I've got to get like 5 characters up to max level and learn to play for 1000hrs. The built in mechanics to help you out at lower levels is just non-existent. I don't have 1000000 points to spend on the best addons. I don't have the best perks. Yet I still don't see where gens are on my map, I don't see where pallets are (I finally got that perk though now, but why is it even a perk when killer gets to see everything automatically?) I don't get to see a trail the killer leaves when I'm trying to run away so he just tricks me and runs backwards or something, dead. Killer sees everything, gens, hooks, where I'm at when trying to run away, visual ques if I mess up etc. I get there's skill involved, just seems there's an unbalanced amount required for a survivor.
You got caught with your pants down because you assumed you had a easy escape......first thing I learned when I started playing....don't assume ANYTHING.
Also trust me Killer may be "Easier" but it's more stressful then Survivor. As Survivor any mistakes you make can be covered by your fellow Survivors in the trial while Killer one mistake is multiplied by 4. A small miscalculation of where Survivors might be could mean a full loss.
Unlike Survivors who are viewing things as a 3rd person view and can look over rocks and around some corners or even behind them to always keep a eye on or out for the Killer.....Killers are a First Persoj View with a very narrow field of view. Meaning a Survivor could literally be hiding under their nose because they are out of the Killers field of view.
Moonwalking takes alot of Skill and map awareness to master. A lot of tricks Killers have taken some form of skill to even do right.
Now as for all the "built in mechanics" Killers have at their disposal that is something they need. It's their job to protect the Gens from getting repaired so they must know where they are at all times. Their second job is to feed the Entity their snacks so without knowing where all the Hooks are the likelihood that they could get a Kill would be severely lowered.
Scratch Marks again goes back to the First Person field of view. Without them then Survivors could easily escape and lose the Killer in the many jungle gyms they have on every map.
As for being new...it will take time like in every online game to get the knowledge and skills to be decent. Save up shards and buy much needed perks from the Shrine. Once both gut they are unlocked for every Survivor/Killer

Neither because those "professional" players and content creators are just people with a opinion and not facts.
If one of those "professional" players or content creators said the ocean is made of soda and you can drink it would you?
The perk is still very useful just now it punishes the Survivors for missing the DH as it should. If a Survivor misses the DH or gets outplayed by the Killer they SHOULDN'T be allowed to get a redo or reset.

Not every is a 4 person comp swf doing clock callouts on where the nurse is going. 80% of situations nurse is going to be guaranteed a tag in 15-20 seconds if they're competent if the map isn't 99% LOS blockers
You don't need callouts to mindgame her or even be in a SWF. Mind gaming a nurse just takes the player's own personal skills and not a team.
Her biggest weakness is guessing where the Survivor will go in a chase and if the Survivor does a common route and don't change it up then she will easily get a down. If the Survivor makes random changes when she is "blind" to where the Survivor is then looping her is easier and will aid in a escape.

You don't need the full 16 charges in a medkit to heal another player. You can just use the medkit for extra speed until it runs out then finish healing them normally. It's still time saved.
Heck with the changes to CoH I bet we will see more CoH/Self Heal come back.

If you don't want to lay around for 2 minutes you wouldn't equip the perk.
You would only be unable to hook the survivor who has this perk, you could hook another survivor instead.
Regarding your first point, it's a matter of opinion that killers are weakest early game. I see many times where killers slug before 1 gen is done regardless, so this hypothetical perk would not stop that anyway.
If it's a totem, it could be snuffed or there could be a different condition for it to enable/disable.
There are so many factors about this that everyone seems to ignore, probably because they are killer/survivor sided. I play both equally so I have no agenda here. I just notice that a survivor can be hooked within the first minute sometimes and nobody saves them. And when I play killer, I don't like hooking a survivor within the first minute, I usually leave one on the ground and pressure a gen. But it seems like some players are sweaty for the hooks and the bleed out mechanic doesn't even come into play.
"I just notice that a Survivor can be hooked and nobody saves them".
That's on the team and nothing to do with the Killer unless it's a face camper. There have been so many times I have been on the hook and my "team" are either crouch walking in the middle of nowhere or just doing nothing while another teammate is being chased by the Killer.
There is no way to spin that would make this perk idea a good idea.
This perk would make the survivor a bully god. They would body block the Killer knowing until they reach the set point they can't get hooked.
As Survivor it will be a Perk like No Mither....no one will WANT to help a person with it because it's just a sabotage to the team.
Bleedout also was never to be used past a way to prevent the Killer from holding the Survivors hostage.

But sadly if you look at both sides I think Killer got a little bigger Nerf salad. But that's just my observation in the whole thing. I thinkany changes were needed I'm just upset that Gen Speed Toolboxes and BNP were not looked at when they did another round of Regression Nerfs

Is there a reason why theg made it to where you can no longer burn the artists birds, hags traps, nurses blinks, wraith when cloaked, and spirit? It makes zero sense!
Yea it was a old system that really wasn't used that often except really for Hag. If you read the Dev Update (can't find it off hand just woke up) I believe they said it was a system that is past it's time.
Hag they are making it so Survivors can get rid of traps easily.
Wraith didn't need such a inconsistent weakness. There are times I saw him get lightburned when she shouldn't and other times he should of.
Nurse......yea I have NEVER seen anyone successfully do that to Nurse.
And Artist...just made no sense.....if your that close to do that to her Birds your more than likely being chased and don't have the time to even do that.

How would such a system not be abused to auto complete the last gen via dc or dcing just before you get killed to give your team a free gen?
This system would be abused and no way I can think of unless like @burt0r said jea y and complicated systems in place to make sure I can't be abused and with the current set up of the game would probably cause more unforseen issues and bugs

Title.
I want to see what gimmick/meme builds people use (if they even use them), so send me your best (and worst) gimmick/meme builds you have.
Their effectiveness can range from "wow, this is really good" to "worse than dog-crap on a stick", it does not matter to me, just send 'em.
On Pyramid Head I run a fun build called Where Did Daddy Go.
Surveillance
Trail of Torment
Tinkerer
STBFL
With the addon that he losses TR while on one of his trails.
It's a fun Meme Build that can get hit and miss usefulness. Works better with Low to Low-Mid MMR

True. They keep nerfing regression without giving killers another way to slow them down or fixing their speed in the first place. Hince why as they nerf them tunneling just keeps getting more and more prevalent as the last resort.
Yea they are just making the issues worse in the long run

We need to move away from this mentality of, "The Devs only listen when they add things I like"
The Developers have been listening the whole time.
Not really it has been said Tool Boxes with BNP and Gem speed perks are a problem in many threads but what overshadows all them is the aheer amount of Nerf Gen Regression perks posts.
They continue to add perks that help with repair speeds and also synergize really well with each other. The reason I stopped playing a few months ago is every match as Killer I saw at least 2 survivors with either Gen speed perks or a purple toolbox with repair addons or all BNP teams.
As Survivor I didn't care about regression or camping or tunneling because that's the best way to go to make it easier to manage for the Killer....but what made Survivor horrid was how many times I would see 1-2 survivors just crouching not doing gens as I hang by the hook.

I don't think that's a valid reason to ruin the game for 4 other people, especially at my (very low) level where map definitely isn't determining who wins. Does BHVR think it is?
I'm struggling to come to terms with the casual attitude around this problem, every other online multiplayer game I've ever played has strict rules around being/going AFK and meaningful punishment if it happens often enough (with very good reason IMO). Even with a cursory look at this very forum, I can see multiple threads about it.
(I'm assuming "Survivor map" is a map that favours survivors)
How is it ruining the game just do gens and leave. Killers don't have a easy way out if they get a match they really don't want to play due to map rotation or being sent to a map that's survivor friendly.
If the Killer wants to leave they will take a DC penalty while Survivors can just suicide on hook to leave the match without penalty.

DL is by far the best gen slow down in the game. It’s lowest value point (everyone on one gen) is quite rare as that’s non efficient, it’s mid point of at least one person getting blocked is extremely common and already makes it the best slow down in the game, and it’s best scenario of blocking a gen with 2 people on it is not that uncommon and makes the perk definitely blow the rest out in comparison. It’s also one of the few perks that is giving you value regardless of what you do. This makes it one of the only counters to the squads that just pre drop every single pallet since that prevents the value of other gen regression perks.
Honestly if you were to ever only run 1 gen slow down perk DL is almost always the objectively best choice, it’s not even close.
That all said should it be nerfed? Well it is very good as I went over, but the problem is like I said earlier, it’s nearly the only counter to just pre dropping pallets. So until that’s fixed I don’t think DL should be touched as it’s currently necessary with those groups.
The Devs have already proved they don't like Gens slowed down and games taking too long hence why a second round of regression nerfs without any look at Gen speed perks, Tool boxes, and BNP.
If DL gains popularity as the next Gen Regression perk it will get nerfed like all the others. BHVR needs to come out and say HOW they want the game to be played because obviously how players are playing it now is not what they want.

Then I won't have those times where I Kobe and the Killer just looks at me dumbfounded while I do a respectable crouch and run away.
This usually allows me a free pass from the Killer until I'm fully healed or a free escape if done as the last Survivor.
