if this was really the case window would go from one of those most use perks to the best perk ever. 2 gens everytime? sign me up
It is a giant crutch. I see 3 WoOs a lobby easy

I don't wanna say looping the killers is the only important thing as a survivor but it kinda feel that way these days. Someone who ran the killer for 2 to 3 gens is simply more skillful than a guy sitting on gens. The system need to reward looping far greater than it does right now
Why should looping be rewarded more? All you need to do is equip Windows of Opportunity and you can become a serviceable looper that can run a killer for 2 gens. It's not hard at all
-
The matchmaking system is broken. It already has a broad range to match from, but it completely throws any semblance of even matchmaking out of the window in order to keep queue times low and to backfill any lobbies where someone dodged.
In addition, the bloodpoint cost reduction on items means survivors are able to bring strong toolboxes, green medkits, BNPs, etc. every single game which really speeds up how fast the game goes so it feels like you have 4 minutes to win or it's over.
-
My favorites are the killers who like pride themselves on survivors liking them. "I let 2 - 3 survivors go every game and I never run slowdown! All the survivors tell me how much fun it is to play against me!" Of course they like you when you make it easy for them to win lmao
-
I hope Eruption stays around for the next five years like old Dead Hard did!
-
I agree, that's a great idea and BHVR should implement this
-
It's pretty funny and sometimes people just wanna chill and troll with some Bubba after getting mismatched against some sweat team that sent them to Garden of No Joy
-
Lol yeah this is definitely only a killer-sided issue. SWFs running all gen rush + 2nd chance perks, four stacked medkits and a Garden of Joy/Eyrie of Crows offering totally don't exist at all

They are balancing the game around top players recently, like to beat a decent killer you need a tournament like SWF
Lol, no you don't. If you want to win so bad, just bring a green medkit and hard split on generators. Predrop every pallet and throw W. Maps are extremely safe and have a giant surplus of resources. That will destroy 95% of killers
-
Caring about respect and admiration from the survivors is pretty silly imo. They only like you cause you made the game easy for them lol

Honestly, the gen slowdowns phase me less than the abundance of killer aura perks and the fact that we only really have Distortion to counter it (which i hate using because it feels like you're selling your team out). Iron Will got nerfed into uselessness so killers have survivor sounds to track, not to mention the usual scratch marks. The new Nowhere to Hide perk will be great for gen slowdown too because those on death hook or those playing stealthy will now have more reason to avoid gens and not take risks.
Footsteps don't even make noise half the time or are muted by the map (Eyrie of Crows). Scratch marks are horribly inconsistent and misleading plenty of times. So much so that I think they've actually been bugged for a long time now. Iron Will was a broken perk that was unfair to the killer and janked up too many other sounds in the game due to spaghetti code (silent on the ground for example)

Solo Q games are either a good team that actually does gens or complete slaughter fest where 2 gens max get done before everyone's dead.
Killer is frustrating because the maps are unbalanced and annoying as hell. To many pallets and survivors have gotten to good at the game and know how to run you for ages. I know all the killer tricks. Moonwalk to hide the red glow, double back, fake one way fake the other way and go back the other way again. And against good survivors none of it works.
You're absolutely right about mind games almost never working against really good survivors. I've had to adapt to trying to get pallets down as fast as possible instead of trying to play around it too much to squeeze out a hit. Controller makes it a bit more difficult to effectively use mind games to get hits at strong tiles
-
You could nuke Nurse from the game, forcibly teleport Bubba to the other side of the map if he's by hook for more than 2 seconds, make Trappers traps hot pink, make Nemesis take 6 whips to down etc and survivors would still DC and kill themselves on hook if they get found first or can't loop the killer for 5 gens or get outplayed and downed at a pallet cause they messed up Dead Hard. Catering to crybaby survivors is why Billy, Freddy, Twins, Pyramid Head and Deathslinger are all terrible
-
Lol. Killers have been a joke for a long time in this game. A handful of killers have been nerfed into the ground. They finally get one decent patch where they get some baseline buffs and now the game sucks lol. That's what I'm getting from this thread.
So many survivors were getting absolutely hard carried by a combination of maps, old dead hard, and iron will. Maps are still atrociously survivor sided, circle of Healing obliterates entire killers/ playstyles and wrecks 3 gen strats. Gens got 10 seconds added while devs introduced a perk that allows you to solo a gen in 45 seconds. Thanks to the grind reduction it's green medkits, BNPs and insta heals with map offerings every game. Acting like the game is just a free win for killer is just laughably dramatic.
-
Why not just get rid of self unhooking unless you have deliverance. Rework slippery meat and luck offerings. Increase DC penalties to 15 minutes base

Wow, you just hit the nail square on the head and drove it home like there was no tomorrow. Cudos.
I already said my piece, so I'll just add a small addition to the last part of your comment: I remember seeing all this content creator's videos and streams of Wesker, how plain fun it was to just charge around the map and smack survivors into things or yeet them into the scenery. It was beyond awesome.
And after the PTB he feels just sluggish and cumbersome. Yes, smashing and flinging is still fun, but it's also hard and at release his hitbox was impossible small. Now it somehow is okay-ish, but he is a far shot from the beer-and-pretzel smash-and-grab playstyle:(
Enjoy Wesker while he lasts because they are going to nerf the hell out of him and make him clunkier and unfun as hell like Pyramid Head and Deathslinger
-
Just learn how to pressure gens bro! You got a massive buff in 6.1.0 in the form of .2 second faster pallet breaking and weapon cooldown. You should be 4king easy every game!!!
-
Why would killers dodge SWF if it was its own queue? I've been told by big content creators that SWF doesn't give any advantages at all
-
Survivors only want to play against killers they can loop for 5 gens cause they want game design to make survivor and killer an equal 1v1 in a 1v4 game. If survivors designed killers, we'd have 28 Pig clones
-
Lol at "it's the killer's job to keep track of the hook states". This is a great snapshot into the mindset of the balance team. The killers have to remember all the survivors' perks, have to guess if they have Unbreakable, wait out a Dead Hard that doesn't exist that could get the survivor enough distance to reach a pallet, etc etc. While for the survivors, they get spoonfed exactly what perks the killer has constantly. Undying notifies you when your aura is visible, Dissolution notifies the survivors when it's active, Huntress Lullaby tells the survivor when it's in play immediately, NOED totem is revealed very quickly. Lol. Everything in this game is hand holding for the survivors
-
Cause solos don't push high MMR because of the way the system is designed, so if you're remotely competent at killer, you're getting matched with SWF unless queues are an eternity. And yes the matchmaking is awful. It's why I don't play solo survivor anymore. I'm below average at survivor. The last night I played solo, I was getting paired with survivors that are even worse than me and we got matched against OnePumpWillie and Ralph. Two 5 gen slaughters later and that's the last I touched solo queue

Got a source to back this numbers up? The last developer statement we got was that SWF increased survival rates by pretty consistent 5% per extra member, with a full 4 man SWF having a solid 15% higher escape rate then soloQs.
Not at all, just speculating based on the fact that they refuse to show any stats vs.4 man SWF and any team that tryhards can destroy pretty much any killer on most maps except really good Nurse/Blight
-
Half the time the Dredge can't teleport near a gen either
-
Kill rate is like 80% vs solo, 20% vs 4 man SWF. There's a reason why they never show kill rates v 4 man
-
I feel you, OP. Being run into multiple Head On stuns a game by SWF is one of the most annoying things in this entire game. SWF doesn't give any advantages tho is what I'm told
-
They don't care about us console killers at all lol. Just accept it

welcome to bad map design
Yep, don't bother trying to make the poster understand. Survivor main thinks maps are balanced and bloodlust is a crutch. What a shocker
-
High prestige survivors that are bad are very rare lol. It's a very good indicator of skill
-
The devs have never released kill rates against 3 or 4 man SWF. Hmm... I can't imagine why. The 60%+ kill rates are purely against solos, book it.
-
I spit out my drink when I read the post saying Eyrie of Crows is balanced. Lmao
-
Okay, what buffs do killers get to deal with increased efficiency close to SWF? Keep in mind people are still freaking out about .2 second faster weapon wipe and pallet breaks
-
Prestige doesn't mean anything is a ridiculous statement. I think I've played against one prestige 20+ survivor that was bad and it was obvious they were being carried by a SWF.
To OP, you also may have gotten shoved in a lobby where the killer dodged. I'm wondering if that happens to me a lot. I'm an average console killer and I'm routinely getting matched with P90+ survivors now. I can't really dodge cause queues are long. Sucks
-
Because survivors love FOV teching and 360ing which completely screw over console killers while doing nothing to PC players. When the devs got rid of 360s with the animation changes, survivors threw a hissy fit that they quickly changed it back. Devs won't repeat the same mistake and add an FOV slider for killer!
-
Garden of Joy, RPD, and Eyrie of Crows are testaments that map design is NEVER going to get better and more fair. Obscenely survivor sided maps. Chasing good survivors into the house on Garden of Joy is straight up throwing the game it's that bad

Yeah, but 4 man SWF death squads are much rarer then people sometimes make them to be. Most SWFs are 2 man duos of just friends hanging out, doing gens, helping each other out and sometimes trying some meme build together. You get the occasional toxic duo, but this are rare. A lot of Twitch players are 3 man SWFs with one random or a full 4 man SWF, and while this are often good players and a fair amount of them play toxic for views, only a small percentage of them are really that what you would call a seal team.
The real 4 man SWF death squads aren't that high of an occurence, but I would still want to see after a match who was in a SWF with whom. I think that this would help with both: peeps hiding behind SWFs and claiming that they were all solos and just randomly together and seeing how many SWFs are actually in games that you as the killer totally dominated and stomped.
Agreed on showing it after the game. I've apparently never played against a SWF in my life because not one person I've asked just goes "yeah we were SWF" its always "but I was solo". They know how busted SWF is

Yeah but whats the answer to that? Nerf survivors to make solo q even more miserable?
There is no answer. The game is designed around solo q. SWF is also just a small percentage of players anyways.
Thats why you should just move on. What "losing" a game will do to you? It should do nothing.
SWF is not a small amount of players. The devs said way before 6.1 that at least a 2 man makes up 54% of games and that's certainly more now after the patch
-
Sounds like "D3ad" needs to learn how to pressure gens!
-
@HugTheHag said:
I think it's a fair risk-reward situation. You might lose one opportunity to hook but now a couple more people are injured, which slows down the game.
Plus some perks on both sides are built around that : STBL, Mad Grit, Mettle of Man come to mind.
What slow down? Survivors heal in like 5 seconds
-
SWF doesn't give any advantages, my favorite content creators said so!
-
Why do 4 man SWFs bring Eyrie of Crows offerings and purple medkits and stack genrush/2nd chance perks when they're already on comms?
-
How much fun is it going to be for the killer if they're matched with a lobby where every survivor has 3k+ hours?
-
Ah, I stand corrected. I never played RE6. Thanks for the info!
-
Sherry's a little kid
-
Nice post OP, the inconsistency of MMR is very annoying as killer. I'm on console, so I can't lobby shop as well as a Steam player. I feel like I keep getting shoved into the lobbies that other people dodged instead of one that's actually matched to me
-
Don't like it? Run Desperate Measures!
-
Also you're only playing against Blight like 5% of the time so by your logic, Blight doesn't need a nerf
-

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought I heard that the great majority of killer games are vs solos vs swfs. If someone has the exact percentages, please post. But I believe it was like 10% were swf. So…. 90% of your games are easy but you need the last 10% to be made easier too…
That's not even close to correct.. You aren't playing against a solo lobby 90% of the time. That's absurd. They shared stats in the past where around 54% of lobbies were AT LEAST a 2-man SWF. That was way before the 6.1.0 patch too so it's safe to say more people are SWFin now
-
Whenever 3 and 4 stack SWF gets nerfed
