Map is so good. I have only one problem on this map. As survivor finding gens are so hard.
I kind of like it though. It's just as hard for killer to find survivors as it is for survivors to find gens. I think it's a good balance.

Of course it is right after I got Lourie Strode to lvl 40....
-
I think it's a little bit of both survivors and killers. But I don't really think it has anything to do with the event. I think it's just been that way for a while. If I am being honest the bigger issue is the way BP are rewarded. It's almost like both survivors and killers have to draw out the match to get max BP. And I think it is a very flawed way of rewarding players. If I play against a bad team of survivors and 4k them too soon I don't get rewarded. I don't want to take the chance that their team is actually a late game team and underestimate them. I also don't want to ever underestimate a killer. Even when a killer is AFK. Idk if they're doing some end game play or not. And even than BP are little to none. So I guess I'll stay optimistic and keep using my cakes hoping for good matches.

@schmuckles Did a whole bracket on his YouTube channel and Spring trap was the winner of the little tournament. It was him versus Jason in the end. I personally would rather have Jason 100% but SpringTrap would be cool.

All I know is this game is filled with soo many selfish people sometimes it is disheartening. And that is the issue why this community struggles sometimes I think. No one is positive to anyone new to the game or willing to take criticism and or learn the game.

Bloodwebs are around 50-75k and when killers are sweating as hard as they have been its not worth it running the very few cakes I can get from my bloodwebs, if any that spawn.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/265208/is-everyone-hoarding-their-cakes
Why should I play a cake and when the killer sweats not get any return on it. If anything it rewards the killer for sweating while I get screwed. No thanks.
I don't think killer sweats are gonna stop just because you use a cake or not.

No matter the rank:
Killer players = Cake every game
Survivor Players = maybe 1 -2 cakes every other game or every 3rd game.
I can't really blame them though, as while the killers are making out like bandits during the event gaining 1-4 cakes per bloodweb, survivors have 3 event items competing with the cakes to show up in the bloodweb, and it's all RNG based. Hell, I have 300+ cakes on my Doc alone, but my Feng Min only has 40-ish, and that's not even including the stockpile of cakes I'm building up on my other 4 killer mains. Feng Min has toolboxes, medkits, and Flashlights for days now, but not many cakes, so if my experience is like everyone else's when saving up for their favorite survivors, then I totally understand why they wouldn't be using them if there wasn't a guarantee of at least 1 cake per bloodweb ready to replace the one they use.
Still, every now and then I end up getting that 5 cake game, and damn if that doesn't put a smile on my face! I live for those games because, win or lose, I'm gonna make a buttload of points!
You must have no kids, spouse, or a full time job to have that many cakes lol

With the number of perks now in the game, it's getting really hard to choose just 4. As a result, many weaker perks are having less and less chance of being selected. I have a solution to fix this issue.
Increase the number of available perk slots to 6. Give each perk a perk value score of 3 (powerful, popular, meta perks), 2 (mid-level perks), or 1 (weak, niche perks). Players now have 12 available perk points to use in their build. They could use 4 meta perks (like they currently can) and be unable to use the other 2 slots or they could use 6 weaker perks or some combination of the two. Hex perks would have a score of 3 regardless of power or popularity so totem numbers don't have to be changed.
Lol okay let me try this again without a simple no.... Soo.... That'd be like asking for a 3rd add on for killer powers and items for survivors. I think 4 perks is plenty as it is. I mean I don't think it's a bad idea. But that is a concept to the game that's already pretty established. I mean I could just see the chaos... Luckily there are plenty of useless perks not being used at it is. Tell you what... They fix all the bad perks I'd say yes.
-
Ya IDK why there are so few cakes I use one almost everytime. Oh I am rank 1 to 2 killer And when I see someone use a birthday cake I wanna kill them
-
Okay updated Perk Ideas for Isaac Clarke! Also EA pretty much confirmed a remake for Dead Space! Also I understand some of you thought the first two are ridiculous but in all reality the fact that Not This Time can only be used once per trial and is also very situational doesn't make it that ridiculous IMO. And again for I'll Handle This which again is very situational as a survivor has to be sacrificed/killed before two generators are even completed. All three of these perks are situational but could pair well with any build. You could run all 3 of these in a game and not even get to use a single one of them.
- (Perk Name "Not This Time") Being the last one alive has become the thing you dread the most.
Once per trial, when you and one other survivor remain and the other survivor is put into the dying state you will do anything to save them. Instantly heal one Health State. You gain 150% movement speed and in all actions for 30 seconds. This perk causes the Exhausted effect for 70/60/50 seconds. Not This Time is on hold if you are disabled at the moment it should take effect and will activate when freed. Not This Time will wake you up if you are asleep when it triggers.
"What do you think is worse, Buckell? Dying along with everyone else or being the only one who survives?"
2. (Perk Name "I'll Handle This") You're used to situations falling apart.
When one other survivor is sacrificed before two generators are completed you see the auras of all unfinished generators and receive a 50%/75%/100% boost to repairs for 60 seconds or until a generator is completed. I'll Handle This is on hold if all generators are blocked at the moment it should take effect and will activate after the generators are no longer blocked.
"Hey, I work on ships, not—giant drills! Just—look for an override!"
3. (Perk Name "Whatever it takes ") You're a master engineer and always find another way.
During the trial if you're the last survivor and at least 4 generators have been completed you're able to bypass the last generator being finished and open one of the exit gates but takes 100%/75%/50% longer.
"...doesn’t look like I have a choice."

I admit I totally missed the exercise post.
Ok I'll try.
OP: there is no OP killer. Because if there would be, then he would be played 24/7. There also isn't any OP perk (nor for survivors nor for killers) that I can think of right now.
Balanced: meta perks are surprisingly balanced.
Underpowered: tons of perks that don't see any usage like Monstrous shrine, fire up, botany knowledge, wake up, etc.
My idea for some buffs would be:
- Botany Knowledge = increase self healing speed by at least double amount as it is now. Idea behind it is, that if a survivor wants to use 2 perks (BK + SC) to heal as fast as pre healing nerf SC, then he should be able to.
- Wake up = should reduce the opening time drastically. Maybe 3 or 4 seconds. Why? It's a dead perk for most of the game. It should make a difference during the endgame.
Ya if I am being honest I just used mine as a base example. I personally see more underpowered features in this game than over powered features. Which is kind of why I made the post to begin with. But I respect everyone's opinion on the matter. So even though I personally believe we need more buffing on weak killers and perks most people are wanting a character nerfed like Spirit. Which again if all we focus on is nerfing things in this game we will never get perks like the ones you mentioned fixed. Or killers no one will ever use because they can't hold a candle to other killers.

Original Dracula will not get new players, they will sell only to DbD players. But new licenses comes with new players. So i think this will worth it.
Oh I totally agree. If it were up to me I'd want to see a Castlevania version. But I am also very supportive of DBD original killers. Earlier in this discussion you see a segment related to Castevania Dracula. If I am being honest I would be happy either way.

@Northener1907 said:
I really hope Van Helsing chapter.
Dracula new killer, Van Helsing new survivor and Draculas Castle new map.
So actually speculation suggests it might be more based off the original Dracula "Vlad the Impaler" And he is clearly seen in the DBD archives video in front of his castle. Now we know DBD doesn't like to leak reveals. But it is similar to what they did with Blight. Who was most likely resembling Jekyll and Hyde. But since Dracula is open domain DBD can put what ever spin they want on it. I don't think we would see them trying to to get license on a killer form of Dracula when they can just make their own. Which if I am being honest would be another original killer for DBD. If it was from per say Castlevania than they'd need to get the license for it. So long story short they would need to decide if it would be more profitable to get a licensed version of Dracula or make their own concept.

They dont want to adapt their playstyle, because... drumroll... they dont want to.
It is a game, and it should be enjoyable. If it would be enjoyable to play against a Spirit, nobody would complain.
On top of that, teach them how to play against Spirit, or even better.. show them and challange Scott Jund. Lets see how it ends this time.
I mean I like a challenge. And I think a video game should push gamers to change things up. Otherwise things get stale after a while you know? Just elevates the skill curve in this game is all it does.

Exactly! Spirit isn´t the problem. Its just survivors unwillingness to adapt. Like it happend with Undying, which was nerfed because survivors couldn´t handle doing totems.
Thank you Tsulan! That is a great example. Survivors can't handle totems? Okay nerf undying. But guess what?! Now we have a new perk from Jill Valentine that is a totem destroyer lol xD... So should we not buff Undying again? What they should have done to begin with is create a perk, which they just did, that creates a counter to undying. Or at the time before hand, buff Small Game. Now here's a hell of an idea guys... So now we have multiple perks for hunting down totems. But will survivors run all three of these perks to counter totems? Probably not...
There are already tons of situational perks in this game... So why would my example of lightweight to counter spirit be so far fetched? It wouldn't just counter spirit of course... but the perk would most certainly be used more if balanced correctly.
-
Okay I edited my most recent reply please refer to the above information for more clarity. Since I am not sure my original post was completely understood... Perhaps I should reword the title of this conversation lol 😅. Maybe I should say... Spirit isn't the Sole Issue. I simply used two things in this game I clearly noticed were polar opposites of each other in terms of balance.

Basically this. Every Killer should be designed to feel fair and fun for both sides without the use of perks. Killers should be designed to be strong without perks and countered without perks.
The only way to change this would be to let Survivors know which Killer they are up against in a lobby, allowing them to stack perks against them. This opens up a can of issues, however, and is not a particularly valid option.
@MadLordJack said:
Using one thing to counter another is absolute fetid, steaming bullshite of the highest order. You shouldn't be mega ######### just because you didn't equip the right perk or bring the right item, or becuase the survivors did happen to equip the right perk or bring the right item.
There is no discussion to be had. If the basekit is the problem, that's where the solution has to be implemented or else it's merely a solution in hindsight. Everything else is just a bandaid, one that's unfortunately the Devs favourite tool. Look at NOED Vs solo's - instead of addressing the problem, they buffed a different perk. Wow. Such good thinking. Look at camping - instead of fixing the problem, they added a perk. Wow. Such good thinking. Look at bad early games - instead of fixing the problem, they added a perk. Wow.
Such good thinking.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/264823/spirit-isnt-the-issue
I wouldn't be against buffing unused perks, at all. But to what avail? Pretty much all of the players will still keep using the same perks anyway, because they are easy. You will still keep seeing DH, DS, BT on survivor side, and you will still keep seeing perks that play the game in the killer's stead, on killer side (BBQ, Ruin, NOED). With regards to Spirit, she IS the problem, and you should be able to counter every single killer, no exceptions, even without a single perk. You can't do that against a Spirit even with the best perks, let alone without them.
People are used to throw themselves at th easier stuff. That's why you saw so many Spirit/Freddy players, that's why Ash is R6's most picked attacker, that's why people camp and tunnel, or why you always see people using the same weapon in games like Call of Duty. And sadly, that is not something you can change. Unless you PUNISH camping and tunneling, which people refuse to accept. But that is another matter. The point is, even if they were to buff other perks, why would people use something that isn't easier than what they are already using? They wouldn't. Save, perhaps, to give it a single try.
I'm not saying that at all actually... I guess it's my fault for not reiterating more... It was just one example to get people to think outside of the box. The whole purpose of this conversation is to think outside of the box... I am not saying fixing a perk like Lightweight would be the one single solution to defeating spirit. I am not saying changing one single thing will fix something else entirely. It's actually the opposite of what I am saying. The way of thinking I have noticed is everyone thinks the quick fix on one thing will fix everything. But actually that is what is wrong here. Even just Nerfing spirit or balancing her kit won't fix the overall balancing issue with this game. To truly balance a game like this which as hard as it is... Is going to take time. Now most of us are aware of such a concept in video games. And of course it is nearly impossible to perfectly balance any game.
This is a good way to look at the balance in this game. Look at this game in the three categories I created. For the example I'll set the three categories as follows. Lets try this little exercise I just came up with. For the sake of consistency I will use the spirit and lightweight example example. Along with a new example for the 2nd one just made for the purpose of this next exercise.
- Over Powered (OP) Areas of the game that's claimed or defined as too strong or rigged etc. etcetera... (Spirit)
- Balance Powered (BP) Areas of the game no one complains about or no reasons to change it. etc. etcetera... (Toolboxes)
- Under Powered (UP) Areas of the game that are clearly defined as weak or never used etc. etcetera... (Lightweight)
- Now imagine one thing you can come up with for all three categories. Now what I want you to do next, once you have picked one for each category, is now tell me if you can balance all three of the example you came up with just by changing one of them. Well that's easy.. you can't. You would have to change more than ONE thing to balance all three of them. Make sense? *Note everyone has a different opinion so that is to be expected here. Again my examples are posted.
-
So that is why I said this isn't a spirit conversation. Because the issue isn't spirit it is the overall lacking of other areas in the game. I am not even saying that fixing perks that are on the shelf is the only answer. But as a whole imagine if the developers focused on areas that are underwhelmingly under powered as opposed to just nerfing the strongest mechanic. Cause again nerfing spirit doesn't fix a perk like lightweight or the twins or anything else that is gonna sit on the shelf for a while.
-

I wouldn't be opposed to buffing lightweight and other niche/underwhelming perks for either side, but there is an underlying problem with spirit that is blatantly obvious to anyone who plays survivor for more than 15 mintues per day. She just has too many things going for her, Insanely fast movement and on-demand movement speed, a bit of stealth via going invisible, and little to no tells as to what she's really doing for the survivor. All this for the price of.... losing some visiblity of survivors. Some. You still get to see scratch marks, (blood with the addon,) grass moving, and you can hear their breathing. She needs a nerf directly.
Like I said I am not discrediting what anyone is saying or how they feel on a topic. I am simply trying to get people to think a little more outside the box. I edited my original post to explain that just now.
-

No don't care if I have them or not. I'll never equip them. I guess it's the difference between saying you have them or not.
-
Please note this is not a spirit discussion. I just used it as an example. Nor is this a conversation solemnly on lightweight. I would like the conversation to focus on other topics related to Nerfing, buffing, and reworking. Think outside the box please!

That build is fine (OP) but fine. I like to run different things on power killers and fred is very versatile so lots of perks can be ran on him and you still dominate. Stbl is honestly my fav perk in the game. I am always praying for BBQ first but STBL is next one I pray for. Just got it on my P3 Ghosty last night. I run Stbl on almost every killer (that gets it) except Nurse, Huntress, Mike, Billy, Twins, Trickster, nemesis, and bubba although there are a couple maps with Bubba I wish I had it.
Wait it's an OP builds?

I play with the whole roster at rank 1. Whoever has BBQ at the time gets played. Obviously I have my favorites and some I have to pull miracles with here and there. I am confident with most of the roster except Trick, Spirit, and Billy and yes I understand how weird that 2 of those are. Billy and Trick have yet to get BBQ (ever) so not a lot of playing time on them but Spirit just got BBQ finally so will be messing with her soon as I have always liked that character and lore.
I am just around 260 hours or something like that. And I still have sooo many perks to unlock. I am still pretty new to the game in all honesty. The BP grind is real man.

They'll still complain about spirit. But my guess is wraith. For some reason people always ignore nurse. As a nurse main i'll be the first to tell you she needs to be completely reworked (like freddy). However, we first need to address the fact that at tournament/competitive level play (which does matter because MMR is coming) she is the only viable killer. (Spirit/Blight/Hag also make appearances but have to work far harder than nurse does).
MMR? And what does Freddy need reworked?

Thought about it as his snares aren't as reliable as they used to be since you have less, alarm clock buff, and I don't play too many bots. Have not done it yet though. Just finally got devour on him (had Undying forever) so might toy with that for awhile.
I have achieved Rank 1 with him with the build I have. Well I fluctuate between 1 and 2. but ya. I actually run dream pallets. I love STBFL on him. Honestly him at 8 stacks is super fast and saves a ton of time in the end. I am very late game with him. Usually 4k at 1 gen standing. Or I completely demolish the team lol. Or I get rekt... Still having trouble with good loopers who are aware of pallets.

@Marigoria said:
I think they went the wrong way about it. Stridor was fine, they should have changed her basekit/addons instead of the perk just because of one killer.
Umm.. people realize that nerfing a perk isn't really nerfing a killer right? Since all perks are teachable it isn't unique to that killer. Sooo... when talking about "nerfing or changing a killer are we not talking about the killers actual power? Cause nerfing perks and killer powers are two different things.

Saying that I prefer fire up on slower killers and by slower I am referring to slow starters (Mike and trapper mostly). Brutal is 20% regardless and has some synergy with perks. Brutal + enduring is one of my favorite combos and needing some extra spice in your games? Run brutal and fire up it's very fun especially with wraith. In terms of killers, Wraith springs to mind instantly. I wanna cuddle the poor man, he didn't deserve anything he went through. Trapper would be a nice pillow for obvious reasons, and also didn't deserve what he went through. Maybe Joey because he's kinda fit. Its not the biggest threat but it would make for a interesting Stealth killer ine that has a dash or a charge which would be fun to use.
Isaac would be such a bad ass in this game. He is like a perfect fit in DBD. I could see stalker being good but maybe a skin for demogorgan? But I could see a number of necro killers that could fit.
@xerav I totally agree with you. It's too bad a game like dead space got ruined by EA. Trust me I hate EA. But I would still love to see a Dead Space Cross Over. I did see that the original developers are making a new game. It's too bad what happened to dead space...

First 2 perks are absolutely ridiculous. Third one would honestly be great though.
Well the first two perks could be tweaked a little bit.
