Damn bro ease up lmao no need for so much violence
Just be happy you actually managed to decipher it. I've read it multiple times and still can't figure out ######### he/she is talking about.

All i ask is that his cooldown be reduced dramatically.
Even with addons it takes forever for his power gauge to refill!
-
Haha funnily enough i had the last remaining survivor decide to teabag last night. It was only fitting that i let them bleed out rather than hooking. Think of it as 'time to reflect'

DBD mobile is completely separate from the main game.
You will need to go to the DBD mobile forum.

Cool story.

It would make locker juking perks much harder to use. Do we really want to discourage a more fun chasing build?
Did you really just ask this to Lord_Tony of all people?

Defending generators and dont try to play the game properly is two differents things.
Both the killer and the Claudette and the kate were not playing like they should. It was just the biggest game hostage Ive ever seen.
You said the killer was going for hits when close. You said the killer chased you for 4 gens. He had a 3 gen setup, why would he risk chasing you for another gen to pop when he has the advantage of the 3 gen. Your team can repair gens faster than the killer negate it. Your team is at fault, not the killer. The killer is playing smart knowing the game is now in is favor.
-
@Anara said:
I started a game with my friend who is yellow rank (im red rank) I looped the killer during 4 generators.
Then the team got 3 gen...
The killer didnt wanted to chase me, or other survivors. He was just kicking over and over the last 3 generators.
I told my friend to start a different generator from mine but they were so close.
I was wondering "where are the Claudette and Kate" (they were swf too each other)
They were searching for the hatch with a key.... but the hatch wasnt spawn, we had to do one more generator..
It was the worst experience of dbd Ive ever had. I dont want to play with my low rank friend anymore... I play with him because he is my friend, but clearly I lost my time during this game.
I think the devs should had a secret timer, after 30min the end game collapse begin, whatever happen, idk but never again.
Next time I will just disconnect.
Both the Claudette and the killer were "game-hostaging" but they didnt knew they were.....
I complain about red ranks games being too fast, but yellow ranks games are too long lol
How was the killer holding the game hostage?
He was defending the 3 gen which your team put you in.
If anything blame the other two for abandoning you in search for the hatch. Had you all worked together the chances of escape would have been on your side.
-
If i had a choice i'd turn it off.
Sadly PS5 player pool seems to be very low meaning i'm forced to turn it on and forced to play with PC.
-
Yet another pointless discussion thread.

I know, right? Like when I see secret offering I totally feel like:
Oh no! Not the offering that makes killer able to kill me on ground instead of hooking me when Im on deadhook anyway xD
Seriously, if you wanna play with strong things, moris are not the way to go anymore. Any BP offering is better than ebony mori
Absolute waste of time and bloodpoints buying them from the bloodweb.
Moris used to be a good way of dealing with a difficult SWF by taking one out early, now they're just a different animation.
If anything, killers need keys put in their bloodwebs, that way if you come across a painful game you can just escape through the hatch yourself...
-
Or a lunchbox ;)
-
Easy, let her down you and then ######### on first hook.
Enter next game!
-
People still use Ebony mori's!?

You're misinterpreting that. They mean legitimately end the game.
As a matter of fact, any game that cannot end without you DCing is the fundamental qualification for "hostage holding" as far as the developers/rules are concerned.
It's not about games you cannot progress without losing. Its about games you cannot progress at all.
Well said!

He is easy to bully.
Any killer that is easy to bully gets the same treatment.

Yes i agree, and noed should be active from the very start and should not be a hex totem.

@Zixology said:
This is holding the game hostage. But hardly anyone here will tell you that because "killer good. survivor bad"
How on earth did you come to that conclusion?
The game is only held hostage when the game cannot end.

Remove SWF and we got a deal!
-
Couldn't care less as long as both parties are happy for it. Legion is a points pinata so he was most likely farming BP. I sometimes do this as Legion, it really depends if the survivors choose to grief or not as to whether i let them go or not.
-
Never bought any character with shards. I'm so far behind on unlocking perks i just don't get the motivation to play as much anymore alongside the constant nerfs. All my points go towards the shrine sadly.

Why would the Devs worry about putting it in when they already have an official Discord that they encourage people to use? Putting in a comm system will cost time/money - Discord is free. BHVR is a business - no sense in making tools that already exist for your customers to use for free.
So if you're playing on switch for example, you expect people to just have discord on a tablet/mobile device or a pc??? What a lot of effort for something that is so say supported and encouraged!
-
@Jasix said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2135705#Comment_2135705
And yet the Devs have stated NUMEROUS times that comms (of any kind) are not cheating - just like tunneling or camping. Games adapt from their day one release - it's called progress. Developers make changes to games daily to give more options to their users. By your account anything added to the game after day one is cheating - which is nonsensical to say the least. The "defense" of it not being there at launch is fallacious as most games expand/change from their initial launch with new features.
If it's progress, why do we still not have in game comms?

Is using Stretched Res cheating? What about playing with the game/ini files? Was altering the red glow of the killer intended?
Or messing around with sound cards and video filters, so imersion is impossible? Is any of that cheating?
Can you point me in the direction where i said or mentioned anything about cheating?
I'll wait..

Love the idea, although i don't think the 50% less bp is fair for survivors.
Just having a separate queues or any way to escape SWF would be a win in my eyes. Hell i'd even take a 50% bp cut as killer to avoid swf.
-
He's that OP people are scared to play him due to fear of the nerf hammer coming in to play!

Well since the Devs do not consider it cheating I will go by what they say. You do know they have an official Discord that promotes SWFs right? Or are you saying that the Devs statements regarding cheating are not true?? I mean after all they say tunneling and camping aren't cheating when a large percentage of the community thinks it is - so which do we go by? The Devs or popular opinion???
Waits.....
If the game was designed to have comms it would have it in game from day one. The fact you have to rely on a third party app to use comms says it all. You do realise that Nintendo switch for example has no party chat features or has in game comms?
It's a little naive to expect everyone to have/use discord for a team based game.

I am seeing hook campers at rank 13, so its not about me getting better. I know higher ranks don't seem to get campers but the problem is still there, especially early evening when kids are on.
I think if the game didn't reward camping, then it would happen less, there are always going to be a mindless minority that play that way so unfortunately we're stuck with it. Though If the developers found a way to pool all the same like minded players together and leave those that want to play to get on with the game possibly we could enjoy the game but I don't think it's ever going to happen.
The game does not reward camping.
Dumb survivors usually reward camping by doing their utmost to stop the killer camping or doing unsafe rescues resulting in a loop, thus feeding the killer and wasting time rather than doing gens.
The killer loses points by camping and being anywhere near the hook. If the survivors were bright they would all jump on gens which would punish the killer. Yes it sucks for the guy hooked but the killer throws the game by doing so.

It's not funny anymore. I don't understand why they do it so much, especially in this game. And it's not just good players who do it. Even beginners do it. I don't think I played badly, by the way. Every time I see a player like that, he usually dies on the hook.
Because this game is the very definition of toxic.

NOED's problem is that it lets bad killers get free killers Which is unfair I would rework NOED NOT nerf it Wanna hear what i thought about?
Or punishes bad survivors for rushing gens and ignoring bones.
Works both ways.

- Comms are available in ANY game, because discord exists. Devs are aware that discord exists. DBD is a party game (as in, you play in a party) so of course discord is a possibility.
- So SWF is widely known to be a 'problem'?
So therefore turning off SWF would be a 100% improvement for a killer, right?
So why would any killer NOT turn them off?
SWFs make up a minority of survivors. Killer queues would not be negatively impacted by turning off SWF. But survivors in SWF will have their queue time skyrockets, because as a minority of players, they are unable to be matched against a majority of killers.
Like i said in my previous comment. Name a game that is a team based game and does not have in game voice comms. That right there is clear indication this game was not initially designed to be played as it is played now.
Secondly, I never said turn SWF off. I said give the option to disable SWF or add game modes where you Can opt out of SWF. I would not say SWF are the minority by a long shot. I get much longer queues as a survivor than i do as a killer. I don't know if PC is any different but nearly every game is SWF on console. Hell even when i solo queue i get people sending me party invites...
-
@Seraphor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2130393#Comment_2130393
- The game allows you to form parties and queue with that party. It's a clearly a function of the game, not cheating.
- What data do you have to support this claim? How many people play SWF? How many play solo? How many killers would be happy to choose to go against SWF and decline the option to have easier games without SWF?
- Where exactly is in game comms? I can't say i've ever managed to get in game comms working inside the game before so would appreciate that knowledge.
- You only have to look on this forum to see the numerous threads about SWF being a problem, and the huge amount of people that come and defend SWF saying how easy it is to pick apart an SWF. That in itself should be an indication that people clearly like going against SWF. Why not have ranked and casual where you can play swf in ranked and opt out in casual. Just because you like SWF does not mean the rest of us do. We should be allowed to turn the feature off and play the game how it was designed to be played... Without comms.
-
@Seraphor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2130228#Comment_2130228
Because SWF queues would end up insanely long and people would quit the game?
SWF isn't cheating, just like Tunnelling and Camping isn't cheating.
We all have our opinions. Queues would not be a problem according to this forum as a lot of killers seems to enjoy facing SWF. So by that standard people who do not want to face SWF would have longer queues which i imagine most would be fine with. The fact the game does not even have in game voice comms is a clear indication it is a form of cheating whether you like it or not. Name any game that is team based and does not let you use in game comms without third party?
-

I'm with you on this. I've very rarely seen god tier SWF bully teams, I think I've played against 1 team in the last few months.
I play SWF, even if we're on Discord we tend to not be talking about the game anyway and are just chatting about other stuff, we also troll each other way too much.
A lot of times when playing solo I've been accused of playing in a SWF because we've worked together and taken hits to save someone etc. It's definitely not a purely SWF thing.
I also prefer playing against SWF when playing killer, they tend to be far more altruistic and go in to make saves instead of hiding around the map and as I love chases, this type of playstyle is far more interesting to me. I don't want to play hide and seek to try to find the P3 Claudette hiding in the corner of a map.
If you enjoy playing against SWF as killer then what is the issue with adding an option to opt in to SWF. There are going to be like minded people like you that want to go against SWF; but there's also going to be a large portion who do not like going against SWF because it is seen as a form of cheating, alongside the bullying.

Reasoning behind my opinion -Experience-
As of late I’ve been facing many people with ruin, I played 27 games before I got a rank 17 without it and as a result I believe the devs should follow by examples in the past by nerfing ruin. Personally I don’t mind ruin but its being over used to the point it should be nerfed according to devs logic.
-What I think should happen-
Should ruin be reworked - personally it needs a buff and nerf. Neither fun and good or bad and unfun, just annoying.
-Rant-
why is ruin over used - Because the devs don’t understand top 10% play as gens can be completed within 3 and a half minutes as show with MMR (Note:hope it gets realised so the devs fix there game faster).
Reason why I say “top 10%” is that the survivors are now hitting a cap and that cap is now just a filling water ballon ready to explode when MMR comes around. This was meant to be about ruin but there are too many factors to consider
-Conclusion-
Personally I’m neutral idc about losing or winning as this game will be always unbalanced but all I care about is fun and I think people forget that.
With that mentality, a lot of survivor perks will be getting a hard nerf as well in that case.
-
People have been saying for years how they would like another objective, yet when a killer has noed and totems pretty much become a second objective; they all start having a hissy fit on the forums about noed. You literally can't win in this game!

Just a reminder that the Tyrant from Resident Evil 2 is not in fact named Mr. X. Its a fan name and I have no idea where it came from. In the game he is one of the many T-103 model dropped over Racoon city, and the specific one encountered by Leon and Claire in the RPD is code named T-00.
The boss of the original Resident Evil as well as Nemesis where also Tyrants. Less memorable Tyrant variants also appear in Code Veronica and RE0.
So The Tyrant seem like a no brainer.
At the time there was very little detail about him; thus the name Mr X was created.
Really love how that name stuck though, he was terrifying in RE2 remake!
