To be fair, both sides play like there is no event. I mean, i see survivors escape with 20k bloodpoints. Its almost like they completely ignored the event stuff.
-
Flapping the arms was originally used to show the others, that the killer is camping. Then people started to flap their arms out of boredom. Beating the purpose.
While we are at it, could we also stop attempting to self unhook when the teammate is about to arrive? I didn´t come from the other end of the map, so you could kobe in front of me.

I agree with that. There are times when this is definitely the case.
However, there are certainly cases where players who use hacks/cheats insist that everything was normal. All the recently added things like MFT, Rapid Brutality, Speed serum,... don't contribute positively either, they blur the line even more.
It would be appropriate to significantly revise the EAC and NOT announce this.
Would be interesting to see the guilty players (could be a higher number) were then removed from the game and many moan threads would arise on Reddit where exactly these scum would then complain that the system doesn't work and that they were falsely banned fit the stereotype perfectly.
Of course, everyone is going to claim they are innocent and perks like MfT don´t really make spotting a speedhacker easier. As during the match it could be just that perk and you don´t see the perk until the match is over. By then its usually to late to start recording. Which makes the whole process useless.
I still think the best approach would be for BHVR to implement something that scans the dedicated servers and automatically sends reports to the support team, whenever something doesn´t look right on the server side. I mean, they could measure everything during a match.

That's me being paranoic i won't deny it and that's ruining my fun and gameplay too.
But then since no one cares, my reports never got an answer i decided to ignore the problem, if i think someone is cheating i tunnel him the entire game, don't care aanymore if i win or lose, that's all. I'm not wasting time doing video or reports to bhvr anymore they are useless
The whole report system is kinda outdated tbh.

THIS. I get reported actually quite often for simple game knowledge.
Or even worse, just yesterday a streamer reported me for exploits because I “charged Oni’s strike too fast”. They were devotion 17 so they should know by now…..
This is also something that is probably clogging the report queue, which leads to slower reaction on real issues.
-
Another problem is, that players are getting paranoic. Accusing normal players of hacking.
Had someone report me, because i could find them without tracking perks...

Instructions unclear. Let my teammates bleed out.

Wouldn't it be great if they made all the killers viable at high levels and then allowed solo queue to actually communicate with each other? Would be so much better for everyone.
This is actually the only thing that will ever close the gap between solo and swf.

Go ahead and say what you want about it being efficient but I wait 10 minutes to queue into a game just to be tunneled with lethal/UW and killed at 5 gens in the first 2 minutes of the game while being hit on hook for no reason. It's been 7/7 games now. Haven't even had a chance to touch a gen or get in a chase. Killer sits just outside the hook radius and waits for someone to come and then tunnels down.
Y'all really have fun playing like that? I'm not asking you to throw the game and let survivors win just why be so sweaty dude? It's not for money? Chill out
The fact that you had to wait 10 minutes for a match, should tell you everything.
Have you tried playing killer instead?

This the number of comments on my steam profile. The overwhelming majority of them are "colourful" remarks from people I played with in DbD.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9SZ0S856YYZL/salt-count.png
This is a folder I've created a little while ago with screen shots of more "colourful" remarks I received in the end-game chat. Some of the things that have apparently provoked the people I've played with into sending insults, unhinged rants, and demands for my immediate suicide include:
- Playing a certain killer
- Using certain add-ons
- Using certain perks
- Not chasing them enough
- Chasing them too much
- Tunnelling
- Tunnelling (When I didn't)
- Camping
- Camping (When I didn't)
- Slugging to avoid being pallet stunned
- Slugging to avoid being blinded
- Slugging because other survivors were nearby
- Bringing a mori
- Bringing a hatch offering
- Bringing a map offering
- Nodding or shaking my head
- Having too many hours in the game
- Existing
It's not an exaggeration to say that the DbD community is filled with the most toxic, entitled people I've ever encountered in my years of playing online games. I seriously have people who have held grudges against me for over 3 years because of something that happened in a game we played together 😐️
It's pretty wack.
Recently i´m also seeing lovely comments on my profile from my former teammates. Because i played in a way, they didn´t like.
Our community is really something.
My profile is like a timeline when i take a break from DbD. Suddenly the comments stop.

There is a soft cap and a hard cap in mmr. When there are not enough players of the same mmr lvl, the game widens up its search and allows for players of different mmr ratings to play with each other.
Apparently you can reach the soft cap pretty quickly and the devs prefer that players have short queues over "fair" matches. So thats why you see this.

Trapper, Wraith, Freddy, Legion, Clown, ...
Basically m1 killers are killers that can´t down with their ability during a chase and always require hitting m1 for a down.
Or to say it differently. Killers like Billy, Bubba or Myers can insta down healthy survivors with 1 hit. So they get called m2 killers. (and yes, i´m aware that technically Myers would also count as m1.)

This is a question I often ponder, as its a common thread for people to talk about killer being more stressful and scarier than survivor.
I mean what??
Its not a good thing in a survival horror if the protagonist is scarier and more deadly than the antagonist.
Just makes me wonder sometimes.
As @Seraphor pointed out. Its a bad kind of Stress.
Survivors can see what their teammates do at all time. They see what affects them, who got hooked, who is getting chased, etc. With all the responsibility shared between the 4.
The killer has to keep track of who he hooked how often, while keeping track of the progress of the gens, what perks the survivors were using (DH, MfT can drag out a chase for a very long time), etc. All by himself.

Because you probably played killer trying to prove something to you or anyone else. Obviously it feels worse if you have 4 people bullying you in game as killer and you're helpless, and those games stick out. but so many killers imo here have a hateboner for survivors and are indeed trying to prove something. And the game gives you no outlet to do so in a healthy manner (say ranked), which would enable you to relax playing killer in a casual mode if DBD had both modes (competitive and casual), so your alternative is to play survivor duh. Isn't that why you changed? That's what you just admitted.
Go read any LoL learning forum and there will be a ton of posts of people afraid to play ranked and suffering from stress or anxiety when they get into one, but that's a somewhat controlled environment, because everyone is expected to try hard there and the matchmaking works the majority (except when smurfs are involved) of the time unlike DBD's. So a lot of killers are playing this role as if they were to play ranked (if it existed) but play survivor as if they play casual game.
Ranked in any game is pretty stressful because you're getting judged in game, by yourself and your teammates/enemies which is true for DBD as well. At least in DBD you cannot be judged afterwards cause there's nothing to show atm, unless you're one of these people who are super competitive and have to take everything seriously. In that case I cannot help you, it's self-inflicted. Your biggest enemy is yourself.
Also because you have resorted to playing survivor (not so much out of choice but out of necessity perhaps), doesn't necessarily mean you are not more invested in the killer role. Your points to me sound majorly killer biased despite you playing survivor atm. I've seen killers way less biased than your posts (not trying to start anything tbh, just writing down my perception). It kind of comes across as "I'm not racist cause I have x friends from this ethnicity, but...(proceeds to point out only the negatives of that ethnicity)".
Calling this a long stretch would be an understatement...
I started playing the killer role. For years no issue. Good matches, bad matches. Nothing extraordinary. Then people claimed how harder survivor is compared to killer. So i started to play survivor, to see if its really that hard. Long story short, it felt like a different game way easier, more relaxed. I didn´t had to juggle 4 survivors, i only had to effectively complete 1 or 2 gens, do a totem or 2 (now optional). Get some rescues and escape.
The biggest threat to survivors are other survivors. Thats something i´ve been saying for a very long time and it still holds. I´ve encountered my fair share of teammates that dc/suicide when the match doesn´t go their way. Dooming the rest of the team to a loss. But the forum is full of people that defend this behavior or even recommend it. Because its playing against killer XXX. Who isn´t liked.
Fact is, if the 4 survivors are on the same skill level than the killer, the survivors will stomp the killer. There are only a hand full of killers who can stand a chance, if they play in a certain (mainly unliked) way. Other than that, no killer will get his 8 hooks and then start to kill, in the same time it takes survivors to finish the 5 gens.
Its no secret that in most matches, survivors complete 2 or 3 gens by the time the killer gets his first hook. Simply because a chase will take its time. Especially on certain tiles. While survivors usually spawn next to gens and can start with little to no downtime. No downtime, because Hex Perks are no threat anymore. No one would spend time searching for Ruin, because its a waste of time in comparison to just doing gens. Which contributes to how quickly gens get done and how killers struggle to keep survivors in check. I simply can´t blame a killer for camping or tunneling, when he lost 3 gens after the first chase. Having a 5 minute match is as entertaining for the killer as getting tunneled is for survivors.
There seems to be a general lack of empathy towards the other side in the game. If you don´t agree with an opinion, you get called a XXX main and everything you say gets disregarded as biased opinion. But if more people would play both sides and not just for a daily. Then more people would see how unbalanced the game is. I really don´t blame the devs here. Its a 4vs1. So one side will always be louder than the other. Just look at the flashlight exploit we had during the release of the Xeno. Tons of people complained when they kill switched flashlights. Twitter and Reddit were full with people complaining that they got robbed of their flashlights, when it was just fun. Or payback for whatever wrong they perceived in the past. Completely disregarding how the killers felt during that weekend. How awful it was to play, having almost every match someone who would attempt to keep the killer hostage.
Now i´ve spend way to much time on this answer. Which will probably be disregarded as nonsense by a biased killer main. But meh, i just had to get this of my chest.

Well it's 1v4 with zero downtime, it's more intense than sitting on gens while someone else is chased, "stressful" is subjective I used to stress a lot until I stopped caring about ranks and getting 4 kills everygame, it's only stressful if you care too much
That also means, that survivors take the game to seriously, when they dc/suicide because the game doesn´t go their way. When it actually is just a game.
I mean, seriously. Escaping is nothing more than a 5k bloodpoint bonus. Yet, some people behave like the killer harmed their pet or something, when they don´t escape.

Because you play them more rarely and maybe don't feel as judged if you play bad? I am still amazed we have to explain to people that playing a different game after you've been binging the same game for 7 days in a row will make you find the new one more fun in comparison and not feel as stressed. It's common sense than when you work you need a break for at least one day (even if it's you "dream" job) but w somehow believe playing a game daily without any days off at all should still make you as happy as it did when you first started it.
This might be shocking, but i´m a survivor main. Killer has become way to stressful for me. So i rarely play killer and just play survivor most of the time. Because survivor is more relaxing. Even as solo.
So i repeat, why is survivor so relaxing in comparison to killer? After all, a bloodthirsty killer is trying to kill them. Survivor should be anything BUT relaxed.

It is a 4V1, it shouldn’t be easy to 4K. Do you hear yourself, matches should be relaxed? If you could win by playing “relaxed” and 4K, that would mean the killrate would be between 90-100%.
I do agree generators flying by coordinated premades are a problem. Addressing this will make SoloQ near impossible.
Then why are survivor matches relaxed?

They can and are seen as toxic behavior by many. Everyone is allowed their own perspective. No need to invalidate someone's feelings. OP did not say it's a fact but rather that they feel it's toxic.
Being tunneled for 3.5 hours must be very frustrating, and one must question why continue playing if that's considered acceptable game play. Idk about you, but I play games for fun, and I'd rather endure another EMG and NVC torture test then deal with that junk.
As my mom says when she hears us playing in a sarcastic manner, "your game sounds fun!"
It needs to be unrewarding and 3vs1 needs to become stronger, because doing something so easy should he a free win.
Like I keep saying on this forum, if my 10 year old niece can get 4Ks without tunneling, then that tells me everything I need to know.
Am i really the only one who doesn´t find it adorable, that a kid is playing this game? Kids shouldn´t be playing this game.

There is no anti-camping mechanic. In this other thread we have the direct response about it.
@sluc16 said:
Killers just proxy camp, which is pretty obvious is what they were gonna do, duh

My change to moris that solves tunneling and makes them more interesting:
Replace the third hook with a mori. When a survivor is on death hook, the killer simply can't hook that survivor. Hooks get blocked and the killer can only start the mori.
Mori animation takes way more time. The earlier in a match a survivor is killed (counting total hooks) the longer the mori takes. This gives killers an incentive to spread hooks more.
Add a dozen different moris for every killer. DbD mobile showed how entertaining they can be. Trigger different moris every time.
-
Not a fan of the event. Points are barely what a personal double bp offering would achieve. Offerings don´t stack. Event currency is only obtainable through the archives. So after finishing it, most people have to wait for the second week unlock.
All in all little reason to play the actual event.

Anti-FACE Camping mechanic seems to work perfectly fine.
We don´t have a anti camping mechanic (yet) as the devs say, camping isn´t against the rules. So what seems to be the issue?

Like helloooooo?! Why are mediocre killers getting nerfed casually meanwhile Blight is untouched for years? #wewantjustice
Either nerf Blight or bring the other killers to his level. Why would I try and challenge myself to learn Billy/Slinger/Twins... when Blight can do everything better and more?😕
Because the devs balance around the general playerbase instead of the top players. You know, the playerbase where survivors suicide on the first hook, when the match doesn´t go as they want. Thats why the killers that are generally considered weak, get nerfed further: their kill rates on low mmr are higher than the high skill ceiling killers that dominate the top mmr.

One game I had already killed two survivors, downed one of the last ones, nodded at him and made some moves till he wriggled on the floor and then hauled him over to a haunt, slashing the air and letting them wriggle off. By the time they wriggled off, the haunt had disappeared and I was pretty sad, having no void energy left to try again and with the two last survivors on death hook, it was pretty impossuburu that game :V
Next game I went into the void fully stacked and on my way to feed the second Haunt, the first one must of spawned directly on a survivor and I got the challenge done :D This crazy Haunts of the void, you never know what they are up to, next.
BTW, I have a sinking feeling that the second page of the tome will have us trigger two Haunts in the same match, mark my words

Killers can’t enjoy the event either. If killers spend time patrolling the void realm, or spend time trying to do other event stuff, but all the survivors are ignoring the event so they can just repair generators, then the killer is probably going to lose the game.
The only time the killer gets to actually enjoy the event, is 1) if the killer 100% knows someone actually went to the void realm, or 2) the killer tunneled out 2 survivors, and now they finally have enough time to enjoy the event.
Yeah, both sides play, like there is no event and only focus on their normal objective. Only to leave the match with ridiculous low amounts of bloodpoints.

Wasn't facecamping already fixed with getting rid of grabs? With the exeption of Stbfl and instadowns.
Also survs forget about how to save with 2 ppl, were 1 takes one hit and the other unhooks while the killer is in recovery.
That's the problem what i see with adding more and more free basekit perks and surv sided mechanics - survs even play worse as there is no need of getting better and learning. With basekit BT and the anti-camp feature, survs don't need to know how to go for a SAFE unhook anymore. In the worst case, they just need to trade. With the sideeffect last second unhooks are even more effective - more time on gens, just making sure the hooked surv doesn't enter the next stage.
This absolutely makes sense. I remember how back on release, survivors had to pay attention when someone was downed. Was he injured before? Might some exposed effect be active?
Now the HUD tells you everything and i see streamers watch tv while playing.
People don´t have to focus anymore on the game. Which leads to bad players being carried.

I was of couse sarcastic with my statement, but forgot the /s marker, sorry about that ^_-
But for real, the way MFT allows greeding absolute trash loops and getting away with it is depressing, especially when you KNOW that there is nothing in it for you. In order to get the pallet out of the way you have to blood lust and then purposefully not respect it, because otherwise your lunge might be short 2 pixels and they can lead you around an extra 3 rounds. Madness! This is not mindgames, that is just BS, even though a lot of players might argue that "wasting a killers time without expending ressources and successfully greeding is the hight of skill". Why though doesn't this kind of buffoonery feel earned and you as killer shake your head in bemusement as the clever survivors tricks, but you only feel how you die inside bit by bit, loop by loop, until all humanity has been driven out of your body, leaving it an empty husk and you can only regain bits by camping and tunneling and stomping the next group of noobs as hard into the ground as you can muster?
Oh i got that. Don´t worry.
And yes, i absolutely agree with what you said.
For example, just earlier today i played killer because of the 50% bloodpoint bonus at 3pm (yeah about that...) and had a Myers Daily to kill someone with my own hands. The survivors 3 genned themself pretty quickly by only doing the gens on one side of the map (Lampkin Lane) and 2 of the gens were right in front of the main building. Where the Police car with the pallet stands. It was one of the most boring matches i had in a long time, because a Nea would always attempt to loop me around that car. Its simply not fun. I couldn´t leave that tile, because all the gens were there. So i spend the biggest part of that match watching the flashing lights and occasionally hitting someone.
Its moments like those, where i ask myself why am i even playing.

Without mft, we don't need to discuss that changing survivors speed is a huge issue... But that's a different topic, so let's just focus on base speed without perks.
Ok, then back to my original statement. A slow killer like the Huntress would take ages to catch a survivor running around a Stone. She can´t throw her hatchet over said Stone. So this doesn´t really determine skill, if she doesn´t catch a survivor due to it. Its just a very unfavorable position for the slow Killer.
Thats why i think the hit boxes should be equal for survivors and killers. Killer is supposed to be faster, but that benefit gets almost nullified by hugging a wall. Looping around a object isn´t something that reminds me of a horror game (even when i shudder while getting looped). It gives more the feeling of being in a Benny Hill scetch.

Idk why you enjoy spreading half truths. First off they tested it almost 3 years ago, and the game was in a totally different state back then. Second, you really enjoy projecting stuff when it suits your arguments, don't you? In this case: they didn't change bloodlust because there were no plans to change it to begin with. There weren't "expectations", as you like to put it, just data gathering, and for what we know they might've been considering to buff it behind the scenes, which is what ultimately happened.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4MYLDL6RS3X9/image.png
Regarding OP: bloodlust is ok up until tier 1. There's nothing skillful or engaging in seeing a killer zooming at you because they refuse to break a safe pallet. They waste time? Sure, but it's still stupid that the mechanic gives this much free speed for nothing, or as some people like to put it "they're getting benefit for losing". Just look at newly released SM whose power is literally basekit bloodlust, engaging gameplay
Idk what's there to discuss about mft, anyone who defends this perk is either oblivious or in bad faith. Perk is broken and should've never been released as it is
Not spreading anything false. We had a weekend where it was tested how the game would perform without it. Little information after the test.
Yes, its my assumption. Thats why i said "its save to assume that it didn´t go as expected". Stated nothing else. So i don´t get why you would claim, that i´m willingly spreading half truths or projecting anything. At least not more, then you did with the idea that they might buff it.
I think though, that the devs need to improve their communication. I would find it better if they were more transparent on whats planned, on things that get scrapped and why. But thats just me.

He didn´t see me and placed a trap right next to me. I didn´t move. He turned around and after a few seconds the trap decided that i was close enough to catch me. Trapper stood there confused on what just happend, while I was laughing so hard, that i didn´t even think about trying to get out.

Yeah so what? Some tiles are stronger than others against certain killers? You run around the rock you catch up eventually, and then comes the 50 50 of will she wind up a hatched and think you will drop the pallet so she gets the hit or will she run through it and hit you, there is no bloodlust involved here? How long are you running around the rock btw.?
Without Bloodlust against MfT? How? After 9000 loops?
