  • To me its a nerfbuff. On one side a nerf due to the deep wound and on the other side a buff due to exhaustion being removed. Both change the way MfT can be used. But since it can be used with other exhaustion perks, it will end up stronger than what we have now.

We have basekit BT and a lot of survivors like to tank hits/body block after getting unhooked. There are also perks that trigger the endurance status. Which is the reason why i don´t think the deep wound status will have a perk killing impact how so many people claim.

I don´t even get why some people claim that since it requires other perks to shine, its bad. I mean, right now MfT builds require other perks to shine. So whats changing?

Yeah that isn't happening. That's a little too hopeful. xD Probably just reveal it outright similar to how they did Alien, but instead of a week before, it'll be the day before or day of ptb.

New chapters are the most fun, the less the community knows about them. I mean, just look at some leaks we had a few years ago. They totally ruined the surprise/reveal for the community. Worst part even was, that every streamer suddenly felt the urge to share the news on the new killer. Almost impossible to avoid.

I really, really hope that the devs keep the secret tight and that they reveal it the same moment the ptb servers go live. That would be the best outcome for me. One can hope...

But then they at least told us that the chapter would be about resident evil +they made a reference for knowledgeable gamers in the form of the number 5 written in a font of resident evil 3 (well, at least at that time someone said so) And before that they released the executioner whose teaser was literally the number 4 on the anniversary banner

And now it's quite possible that they don't see the need for a teaser about everything, it immediately became clear that the killer would be a predator (if it's him) because of that alien skin, if it's a predator, then it's quite possible that that skin was a teaser.

Yes, I honestly thought that the lack of explicit teasers was due to the broadcast on the day of strange things....like there will be a teaser of the chapter.. but...does anyone know what was shown there?

But we didn´t knew what we get from RE. That was a big franchise with a lot of possible killers.

Not reveal. Release. So when it comes to live servers they're doing a stream for Chapter 30 on it's actual release.

I expect something like what we had on the first RE chapter.

With no teasers, to keep the tension high.

I could be wrong though, since they´ve never done anything like that.

Every killer in this game is just to op for my solo survivors to handle. I know my solo survivors are allergic to generators and only know how to cleanse totems, and open chests, and hide in the corner of the map while doing nothing to progress the game. It's just not fair that my solo survivors can't do anything other than lose every game and scream killer op. We clearly need more buffs so good killers can lose to bad survivors. Solo survivors should not be required to use teamwork in a team-based game. It is not fair that solo survivors are required to help one another to stay alive and win. It is not fair when a solo survivor sandbags another survivor in chase and gets downed because of it. It is not fair when solo survivors let another solo survivor go to death hook phase and there is nothing, they can do about it. It is not fair that my solo survivors go down every 10 seconds or less because they have no idea how to loop pallets, or windows. It is not fair that my solo survivors 3 gen themselves every game because they don't know how to split generators. It is not fair that my solo survivors fail generator skill checks all game. It is not fair that my solo survivors can't do a healing skill check. It is not fair that my solo survivors never body block for one another. It is not fair that my solo survivors miss every flashlight save. It is not fair that my solo survivors don't know how to 99 an exit gate. It is not fair that solo survivors have to hold one button to progress a generator. It is not fair that my solo survivors run from an exit gate when it is open. It is just simply not fair and means that killers need more nerfs and survivors need more buffs, and this is visual proof. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh0-l5CpPNs

    I fully support your statement.

  • Wasn´t this licensed chapter so big, that they wanted to reveal it during a live stream?

That might be the reason why we haven´t seen a teaser yet. Just saying.

I never use MFT, I never defend MFT, I dont mind of MFT nerf.

Its just their logic to convince MFT nerf is a buff is something beyond this world. It made me think of reasons why Ruin nerf was actually a buff, by using the same logic.

Ironic, i have the same opinion on MfT. I don´t use it (anymore). I don´t care if someone uses it. I never asked for a nerf. I just pointed out how its not a useless perk (as some people here claim) and that the removal of the exhausted status opens up new combos that were previously not possible. Which i see as actual buffs. Nerf and buff in the same patch.

Like when BT was nerfed in the way, that it didn´t protect the unhooker anymore, but at the same time it got buffed to be used more than once and that it wasn´t dependant on the killers terror radius. A nerfbuff.

Or how Undying lost the 4 times revival chance, but got stacks that don´t vanish on cleansing instead. Also a nerfbuff.

I fully expect that the PTB brings up footage of streamers using MfT with the new combos. Showing us how strong the new version actually is and that MfT in fact is still meta.

There's what people say and what they do.

Personally, I've been relatively active since Singu arrived, and I've only seen him three times in the first few weeks after his arrival. And he got destroyed in every game btw...

I try to play it seriously sometimes, but after 3-4 games, I suffer too much to continue :')

    Absolutely.

Tbh, the amount of dedication it requires to learn him stands in no correlation with how (un)rewarding he is to play. But some people seem to think thats ok and that he shouldn´t get buffs or changes.

  • Community went full panic mode when the MfT nerf was announced.

Devs released some stats, that were surprisingly close to the stats of an unofficial site.

Anti-Facecamp mechanic was released and works fine. But a lot of people thought it was a Anti-Camp mechanic. So lots of complaints.

    Aliens tail cd was fixed.

Aliens tail cd was nerfed. (same patch)

    Everyone stopped playing Alien.

Oh and before i forget... Welcome back!

  • Go to reddit. There are supposedly a ton of Singu mains.

Like really... had discussions about not seeing Singu anymore and everyone said that he´s fine and that they main him.

  • Agitation, Iron Grip, Mad Grit and Lightborn.

Killers have no terror radius in the void.

Killers get speed boost and no terror radius out of the void.

I've grabbed and surprised so many survivors these past weeks.

I've also used the haunts to detect survivors.

Also I've got up to 150KBP in a match (but more usually around 80KBP)

It was pretty fun for me.

About that terror radius thingy. It persists the first few seconds the killer enters. So survivors usually know when the killer enters it. Unless the killer wants to stay for a while there, its pointless.

The 150k BP were from a different offering. Since the current event offerings sadly don´t stack.

But tbh, whats annoying is how the serums work differently for both sides. Survivor serum can be used after the event ended, killer serum is only usable during the event.

No, it's dead for the vast majority of players.

If your perk relies on another perk, which relies on PING to get value, neither perk is good.

MFT is just a poor man's Buckle Up and it will kill more people than it will save.

Did you just call DH bad?

Exhaustion limitation on top of having to put yourself in deep wound would be waaaaaay too restrictive and throw the perk straight into the garbage category so I think it was a necessity to remove the exhaustion part more than a buff.

Well, everyone is behaving like they did exactly that. As if the devs nerfed it into oblivion like Ruin. But MfT is still top tier.

It'll be on the top ten used at the top like.. 5% of players? So high level SWFS and such.

Do you seriously think this will be used as much as it was pre-nerf? It will not, imo. But I would like to hear your thoughts.

The amount of coordination needed to get 'enough' value out of it is ridiculous. I dont see the average player using it at all anymore.

And that will remove it from top ten, quick.

Copypasting myself from a different threat:

Lets say a survivor takes MfT, DH, OtR and DS. After the first hook, OtR kicks in (80 seconds of old IW) if the killer tunnels, he gets the Enduring effect of OtR + the 3% speed bonus (1rst hit). If the chase lasts less than 60 seconds DS (2nd hit) = reset on the Endurance effect. DH (3rd hit) starts another Enduring effect for 3% and it requires 4 hits to down the survivor.

Current pick rate was 20something %. Second most used survivor perk after WoO. It will get a pick rate hit. But not a significant one. Only because other exhaustion perks, that now work with it, will see an increase in their pick rate.

  • @crogers271 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575892#Comment_3575892

Ok, lets say you use MfT, OtR, DH and DS. Its a anti-tunnel nightmare for killers, where he has to hit you 4 times to down you after the first hook. Instead of having the speed boost before DH, you now get it after DH = more distance for DH.

Let's compare both worlds, right now vs the proposed with this exact build.

You get unhooked: right now, you have MFT, in new world, you don't.

You take a OTR hit: right now, you have MFT, in new world, you have MFT.

You get downed and DS: right now, you have MFT, in new world, you don't.

You pull off a DH: right now, you don't, in new world, you have MFT.

That means over that chase period, you've gone from having three situations with MFT to two. And this presumes a hard tunnel, if the killer is not tunneling you're right back in the situation of avoiding conspicuous actions to get value out of the perk. This is on top of other major issues like losing MFT before the first hook stage, you only get one DS (meaning you can only pull this combo off one time), and that you have to successfully pull off the Dead Hard.

    It's a massive nerf.

Mixing MfT and any exhaustion perk before the "nerf" would be pointless. You can´t use SB, Lithe or Background player with MfT right now. But after the change, it will be possible to have the best of both worlds.

So it's possible to use MFT and a non-DH perk together, but now you're relying on pulling off a heal while injured and the killer swinging into it to get a deep wound (or running against a killer with a natural deep wound attack to get any value out of it). I highly doubt we'll see this combo.

Will we see some people run DH and MFT together, yes, but I think it will be a pretty rare combo.

Survivors will either trigger it by body blocking or by using OtR. If they don´t use DH, they can use literally every single exhaustion perk. Where previosly, you couldn´t. Because you had to choose between MfT or SB/Lithe/Background player. Each one is a strong perk. Just like MfT. You will be able to combine 2 Strong perks and have both advantages. Sure, not 100% of the match. But a perk with that pick rate, usually would have gotten a harsh treatment. Not a slight nerf, that allows it to keep the full potential, while also allowing it to combo with other high-tier perks.

  • @Venusa said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575888#Comment_3575888

Why do you keep saying "nerf" or keep saying this isn't a nerf? The perk won't be active most of the time and it isn't going to have a %100 up-time when injured like how it is at the moment. New version has a limited and situational use. That's the definition of nerf. Doesn't matter how you dance around the words or which angle you look at it from. It's a nerf. I'm not saying it's a garbage perk now or anything but you trying so hard to not call it a nerf is kinda funny because I've seen you do it on every post about the MFT nerf LOL.

Because perks that get nerfed usually don´t receive a buff at the same time. MfT gets nerfed by requiring the survivor to be in the deep wound state. But it also gets buffed at the same time, by removing the exhausted limitation.

"Nerf" is kinda shorter than nerfbuff. Can´t call it a change, because the perk performs exactly the same, just at a slightly different moment. Survivors will now just trigger it by body blocking after getting unhooked.

Removing the exhausted limitation is extremely big. As i already mentioned several times.

So DH for the higher mmr players and OtR for everyone else. MfT is still as effective on all mmr ratings. If not stronger.

The idea of 'as effective' or especially 'if not stronger' is absurd. Nerf MFT if you want, but this a massive nerf.

MfT now works while being exhausted...

Please, take a moment to let that sink in.

    This doesn't make sense.

MFT never prevented exhaustion perks. You could get in a chase with a killer, get hit, have MFT, pull of a DH, no longer have MFT.

Now it's get in a chase, get hit, pull of a DH, now you have MFT.

The difference, and why it's a massive nerf: you can't DH/OTR before being hooked, so that's 1/3rd of possible hook states where this doesn't apply, you now need to pull off a condition for it to be viable (i.e. a successful DH), and you can't do anything else while having MFT but be chased. You can't jump on gens while in deep wound, if you have OTR you can't do an conspicuous action, you are totally dedicated to seeking out a chase. Not to mention, you have to run some other perk to get realistic value out of it which was never required before.

This isn't even like the DH nerf were by making it rarer as a pick it was easier for survivors to pull off. It's just a flat nerf.

And maybe its justified, but let's not pretend about what it will be.

Ok, lets say you use MfT, OtR, DH and DS. Its a anti-tunnel nightmare for killers, where he has to hit you 4 times to down you after the first hook. Instead of having the speed boost before DH, you now get it after DH = more distance for DH.

Please take another moment to let what you think sink in.

MFT works the moment they're injured, not after a hook with OTR

MFT works without the success of using DH

MFT works without the dark blood overlay on the screen to make the looping harder

MFT didnt require another perk to work (getting Deep wound for 3%), it works by itself

A perk requires another perk to work, is a nerf. The only think true is only the high end of MMR can use MFT.

Old selfcare took 32sec to heal, New selfcare requires another perk (Botany) to make similar thing. Is a nerf.

I dont defend MFT, but you like to make survivor's nerf seems like recieved a buff.

The "nerf" is making other survivor perks more valuable again.

No, MfT won´t be a bad perk. It will enable other perk combos, that made little sense until now. But can shine pretty strongly.

Also, SWF using Flashlights, MfT, FtP and Background Player. Will be incredible annoying for killers.

I said it was useless to me. The only time I'm likely to be in deep wound is if I'm playing a Legion or the Killer is actively tunnelling / chasing me off hook. And if this is happening, I'm dead anyways and would rather go next. So yeah, an utterly useless perk for me now. Could be good in a tunnelling build I guess, but otherwise I will probably not use it again.

Besides, if I'm having to use a full tunnelling build because the MMR is putting me against hardcore tunnelling Killers that probably win all their games, then I'm not having a good time, matchmaking is broken and I'd rather just stop playing.

I understand. Well, maybe the devs release a new enduring perk with a future update. That could make it more useful for a more casual playstyle. But honestly, the way you describe it, you probably don´t get the most out of the current MfT anyway.

For example, i prefer to run SB over MfT. Because killers often break a chase, when i burst away. So i got more use out of SB than MfT.

Whats really annoying for killers, is the enduring effect after picking someone up. Something that wasn´t changed and will still annoy killers.

    So the perk is bad.

It can be triggered like, twice per game.

It's #########, not worth running and is another absolute failure from BHVR to nerf a perk without obliterating it.

Its now a anti-tunnel perk and it won´t move from the top 10 list of most used perks.

Also, SWF will trigger it far more often than twice. Because it still has the Enduring effect on healing/picking someone up.

  • @tjt85 said:

Man that's sad. I liked this Perk, even though I still think the best exhaustion perks are way better than it.

MFT is now as useless as Spine Chill to me. I never had a problem with it, but I guess plenty of Killers will be glad to see it join the other 100 or so Survivor perks that nobody uses.

Its not useless. Just run it together with another exhaustion perk. You don´t have to choose between MfT and SB/Lithe. You can take both now.

  • @Seraphor said:

That makes it a good anti tunnel perk then, if combined with OTR and DH. That's a lot better than 3% as a reward for the killer doing their objective. I can live with that. I'd even be fine, if they reworked it a bit more and made it 7% haste for 60 seconds after an unhook and have it deactivate when performing a conspicuous action.

On the topic: I'm not sure how much stronger / weaker Trickster will become but I have a feeling it's gonna make him even nastier. Especially with Main Event being easier to trigger. I'm happy that they revisited Red Forest again (hopefully, this time it will get nicer to play on) and the change to GoJ has been a long time coming. Against my better judgement, I'll stay optimistic on the map reworks.

Exactly! It will still be a great perk. But right now everyone is in panic mode and doesn´t see the benefits.

  • @Annso_x said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575219#Comment_3575219

Nah, not only you can't stay in deep wounds forever so you can't keep the effect from one chase to an other but on top of that you need to somehow reactivate an endurance effect everytime to get value (and staying injured without the 3% will be too uncomfortable for a lot of players tbh). The perk won't die off but I would genuinely be so surprised if it stayed in the top 10 popular perks (I would say top 15 but i'm not sure there's 15 viable survivor perks lmao)

As long as you run, you can keep deep wounds up. aaaand i just noticed, that this is a indirect nerf to Legion.

Also see post above. You can now have 2 great speed perks at the same time.

Nobody is going to run MFT with SB or Lithe.

I've already explained why the new condition won't be consistent with DH.

OTR is not a good perk.

Your reasoning for saying this confuses me. Please elaborate if you desire.

Right now, you can´t mix MfT with exhaustion perks. Which is kinda limiting. After the "nerf" you can run it with SB, Lithe, or whatever you want. Take OtR, MfT, Lithe, WoO and a runner gets all the benefits from both MfT and Lithe. They don´t have to choose between having a permanent 3% speed boost or a short 150% speed boost. They effectively get both.

And OtR is a great perk...

  • @Pulsar said:

Perhaps claiming "MfT dead" is dramatic but saying "this is far from a nerf" is quite a reach too

Why? They buffed it at the same time as they nerfed it. Now people will run it with slightly different perks. But thats it. It will still be on the top most used survivor perks list.

  • Yeah, but now you have the bonus speed after the DH hit. They just changed when you get the bonus speed.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575180#Comment_3575180

I wouldn't say it's effectively stronger. You still have to be deep wounded for the speed boost which is far more restrictive than not being exhausted. And it's far easier for the killer to avoid chasing deep wounded survivors than it is for them to avoid chasing injured survivors.

It's not dead, but it's also not a perk that is a must run on everyone.

It's basically the dead hard nerf situation all over again. People complaining that the dead hard changes completely kill the perk only for it to turn out to be a pretty decent perk when used correctly.

I think its less restrictive. Since it keeps its annoying endurance effect for healing, that is so loved by SWF. While it also allows to mix it with all exhaustion perks. I expect more people to run DH or OtR+SB/Lithe with it.

  • @Jigsawbg said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575172#Comment_3575172

yeah,i will wait to get deep wound for the 3% to have effect from the perk

SWF will still use MfT in the annoying way, that caused every killer to hate it. But now it works with other exhaustion perks, which makes it stronger in my book.

I really don´t get why everyone is panicking.

  • I´d like No Mither to have a bloodpoint bonus. Kinda like the meme addons for killers, that disable their power, but give 100% bonus bloodpoints.

    Oh and MfT wasn´t nerfed.

  • Best part is, everyone claims MfT is dead/useless. While it now is effectively stronger than before.

You couldn´t mix it with exhaustion perks. Now you can.

  • MfT isn´t useless. Its not an exhaustion perk anymore.

Which means, it works with DH, OtR and every exhaustion perk we have. This is far from a nerf.

  • MfT now works with DH. It doesn´t deactivate when exhausted. Which opens a lot of possibilities to mix it with exhaustion perks + endurance perks.

Hell, it might even be stronger than the current version because of that.

  • I really don´t get the "its a bad patch for survivors" vibe.

MfT now works while being exhausted...

Please, take a moment to let that sink in.

It now works with DH, OtR, and all the perks that cause exhaustion. So as long as someone is able to hit the DH or get hit with OtR, it now is even stronger than before.

So DH for the higher mmr players and OtR for everyone else. MfT is still as effective on all mmr ratings. If not stronger.

  • Now after rereading the whole nerf thing. Its still pretty strong and alings perfectly with DH. Since they removed the not being exhausted requirement, it could even be stronger than before.

So those 2 years might have been a bit to optimistic on my part. 😅

  • Interesting. A whole page about the Trickster and yet, everyone only speaks about MfT.

Which now perfectly stacks with DH. Securing its place on the top mmr. While the not so skilled survivors get the short end of the stick.

Devs nerfed it hard and much sooner than excpected.

Maybe we should do a community voting or something.

Okay. I would put cross progression in another category though as it’s not really comparable (if we can believe that it’s truly out of their hands - I really don’t get what technical issue is in the way currently..)

I still don’t think it’s reasonable to believe a change for MfT is more than 2 years away. Idk. We will se.

DS? CoH? Took quite some time to change them. Apart from some minor changes. Sure, a small change for MfT might be around the corner. But it could be something like reducing the endurance timer after healing someone or something like that. But we´ll see.

You know, pessimists are optimists with experience.

2 months is nothing. That’s pretty much only one release which was already planned way before.

also yeah. Twins. One example where they didn’t even say ‚soon‘ but ‚next‘ which they explained later on I guess. But still, is it really the norm or an exception?

Cross progression? I don´t know, some things simply take ages around here. If thats good or bad is... well depends on the side someone is playing on. I mean sure, the game has gotten big. So some things probably can´t be changed as fast, as when the game was way smaller. It just feels inconsistent

I know they are slow and criticizing that is appropriate. But I dont think they will be this slow?

I mean... Twins? Have been on the list for how many decades?

EDIT: also just noticed, that the "soon" is 2 months old😅

  • We won´t see a MfT change for at least another 2+ years.

I'll stop doing it when survivors get a better way to notify their team they need to be unhooked. You should know playing survivor how often you see your team just ignore you on the hook or realizes you need unhooking when its too late and you die before they even get there. The game needs some kind of ping system or better communication tools.

I´ve had teammates flap their arms all the way i came from the other end of the map and another survivor also came...

  • 10-15 Minutes.

5 is to short, 20 to long.

Under no circumstance should I be banned for the simple act of "not wanting to play against a killer whose power gives me tremendous headaches" and you're goofy if you think otrherwise.

No problem. But could you give killers the ability to open the gates at any point of the match, for the same reason, please?
