Survivors absolutely need some form of buff to their bloodpoint gains. Killers get lots of BP, especially with BBQ and Chili which half of them would run even without the BP bonus, so running it is a no brainer. Meanwhile survivors get very little BP unless it's a perfect game, WGLF gives no advantage and is a wasted slot used to reduce grind, and on top of that getting 4 WGLF tokens practically requires you spend all game unhooking, getting your team killed and generally not contributing. Killers will get 4 BBQ tokens most matches so long as they are trying to do so.It isn't true that WGLF encourages altruism. What is encourages is for everyone to divebomb the hook and make suicidal saves that will likely get their teammate killed or at the very least nobody is working on generators because they know the only way to make decent BP gains (or pip) is to do unhooks.
There is a difference in the survivor and killer BP gain. Because survivors can get a new match, when they die quickly, while the killer is stuck with the survivors until they all die or leave.
It´s way easier to get WGLF tokens than BBQ tokens. And not a single killer would use BBQ if they remove the bonus BPs.
Catching 4 loopers is way harder than standing in front of a hook, when someone is about to get hooked. -
They really need more mods.

Gatekeeper : why not.
Malicious : I believe we already talked about that, but what you lose in malicious, you gain in chase.
Chaser : not a real problem except for MMLightbringer : I heavily disagree. Points should being split up. Grouping up shouldn't generator more points, as a solo survivor actually doing more work than 2 people would actually get penalized with less points even tho he spent more time repairing, which is stupid.
Unbroken : Fine as it is considering most rounds are super short anyway
Evader : Fine as it is considering the genrush meta going on. It makes people to want to take risks and evaluate, which is a good thing. Unless you want even more gen rushing that is.Malicious: Switching one emblem for another makes no sense. Since a perfect play requires 3 emblems to be iridiscent and the last one gold. All emblems should be equally easy or hard to obtain.
Right now the easiest way to pip is to tunnel and to camp. Both things are considered unfun.Lightbringer: right now working together on a gen gives bonus BPs but fewer Emblem points. That´s not intuitive at all. Since the additional points suggest that the players are doing the right thing to get the emblem, while they do the exact opposite
Evader: what has being rewarded for playing stealthy to do with gen rush?
The only way to have even more gen rushing, would be to bring 4 toolboxes + BNP.
But the time it takes right now to do all 5 gens is simply to short.Malicious : Hard to tell, some killers are better at chasing than others, so that statement is weird to begin with.
Lightbringer : I don't mind if it's not intuitive. You shouldn't penalize people that repair solo over ppl that repair as a group.
Evader : it's pretty simple, it will allow super quick rounds (aka BNPs, and strong toolboxes) to borderline double pip with 0 efforts, which is the opposite of what devs actually wanted doing this emblem, since they want to reward interactions with the killer, where the actual skill matters (and you can stealth while interacting with the killer, and that's why it rewards points to be in the TR), not to give Iri emblems to that guy that did stand at the opposite of the map the whole round because one guy of his team is able to loop for 5mins, and will very likely depip from that, which would make 0 sense.
Chaser: With the current system. A chase is considered over, even if the killer sees the survivor and is running in the direction of the survivor. Slower killers, or those that rely on traps or stalk are penalized. A survivor who steps into a beartrap doesn´t get the killer chase points.
Lightbringer: it´s not penalizing. Right now, survivors which work together on a gen are penalized. This makes no sense. Working as a team is penalized. It shouldn´t be like this.
Evader: but that´s exactly what the name implies. The survivor avoided all contact with the killer. He evaded him. Right now the emblem should be renamed to "looper" because that playstyle gets the most points in this emblem. The guy who looped the killer for 5 minutes gets way more points than the guy who evaded the killer. Maybe increase the radius to make it count, or increase the numbers. But i don´t want to run behind the killer, in the hope to get some evader points. Because then i´m searching the confrontation instead of evading.

You had Self Care. Why not use it? Freddy can´t even camp properly. You gave up and stopped right under the hook. A few seconds later, the gate were powered. You could have tried to loop him. Which is especially easy on that map, because of all the windows.
You failed, because you didn´t fight.

I main survivor and I simply think the perk is too strong. But at the same time I do think killers need this perk at the moment. Its just simply that the perk isnt beeing used for what the devs had in mind I think. They wanted killers to see survivors and go to them to avoid quickly completion of generators but instead killers use it to see how many are far away and if they can use it as an excuse to camp.I started to level Leatherface yesterday so I only played 3 matched with BBQ and Chilli and today I got called a camper because I only saw 1 aura after hooking the first survivor so I stayed close knowing there were 2 survivors nearby. I think I was justified to stay but at the same time I understand its annoying for the person on the hook.
I dont think the perk needs changing but id rather see Were Gonna Live Forever get the same type of treatment but reversed. That the person who unhooks and the person who got unhooked sees the killer aura within 16/24/32m for 4 seconds.
I think both perks will be roughly the same providing aura reading and bonus experience and gives the the unhooked survivor more chance to get away while giving the killer more intetentive to actually go for those who he could read.
The logical buff for WGLF would be that survivors can see the killer if he´s at least 52/46/40 meters away.
Killers using BBQ only camp, because they can´t see the auras. Basically survivors do everything to sabotage the only reason the killer has to leave the hook.

Ranks don´t matter. If you make disconnecters lose a complete rank per disconnect, you´ll even do them a favor. Since they prefer to be low rank to bully newbie killers.
Introduce a disconnect fee for people who do it regularly. Make them not only lose the BPs they won during the match, but also Points they saved up. Make them lose Iridiscent shards aswell. They´ll think twice before disconnecting.

Lobbies get filled with Survivors who either have blood, are in SWF or both, and a few Survivors without either.
Guess who don't disconnect? The Survivors without either blood or SWF.Players are supposed to have fun, no? Where's the fun that i'm supposed to have in this? "Oops, i failed. Better DC from that Hook/Mori."
Oh yeah, side-note: Remove the ability for Survivors to quit out during Mori animations while also making it impossible to interrupt the Mori animation as Killer. It's only a few seconds, they can spare those. And yes, i realize they can still pull the plug, but that's kinda unsolvable, so at least do that. Then make it so the Killer can't stop the Mori so they can't spam the beginning animation.
I remember the developers saying they mostly want the game to be fun.
That's great and all, but what's not enjoyable about the game will stand out. And this stands out greatly to me, and for longer than just today. They need to address a lot of things to make the game enjoyable for killers. 6 weeks to go, until the mid season patch that´s supposed to make things right.
But honestly, when i look at the way the devs solve problems... i wouldn´t bet on it.
Disconnecting doesn´t get punished. Check

Yeah, damn those people working as a team in a 4 vs 1 game.
Hold on...
When the team sucks = "give me my free escape, because it´s not fair that i get punished because my team sucks"
When the team wins = "yeah we are supposed to work as a team, that´s why we win"Find the error.
It's funny that you bring that up, because my original reply to you was:
You think survivors should work as a team and should be held accountable as a team, and then you whine when they do. Is there literally any winning with you? Should all survivors just stand still & die for you?
You think only in extremes. If the loops get nerfed "killers want us to run in straight lines", if i point out that survivors want to have free escapes despite losing as a team: " should all survivors just stand still and die?"
DbD is a asymmetrical game, where 4 people should be weaker than 1 killer. With the current perk and item meta, survivors are able to 1vs1 the killer. Which is broken.
Devs struggle to balance the game and give in to survivor complains.
Camping was a planned feature (!) for the killer gameplay. Survivors didn´t like it, so the devs introduced BT. Which created unfair situations. They did the same at addressing slugging by introducing Unbreakable. Survivors get more and more tools which ignore or bypass the killers abillities or strengths.
Then killers complain about this unfair situation and they get told to play survivor or civ by a dev. Or in your case, that survivors should just stand still and die.Killers want to have fun in a game (damn people who want to have fun, huh?).
But for a long time, devs only cared for the survivors fun, because they are the majority of the playerbase.
Many killer mains stopped playing. BHVR counters this trend by having a sale once a month. Attracting new players to compensate for the loss of old killers. The new players don´t know what they get into and are told to gid gud. They believe it and keep playing the clown for the entertainment of the survivors.
On top of that, devs introduced a clown as their last killer. Completing the cliche.Every time a survivor main starts playing killer seriously, he´s shocked at how unfair the game for the killer is. How hard killers have it. There are tons of threads about this on the steam forum.
There´s not a single thread of a killer main who started playing survivor and suddenly realized how hard survivors have it.Just this morning survivors started to call out an "exploit". Where a killer who is locked in the pickup animation, can avoid being blinded by pressing R.
A pickup animation lock, where the killer is supposed to stand still and not being able to counter a flashlight.
That´s the killers version of standing still and die. -

The difference COULD BE that one is a solo player, other is SWF, and says what they think (differently) about it. SWF is gonna want to use team to justify, as it defends SWF. Solo says team shouldn’t destroy them individually, which is correct, devs have even said so. SWF is just OP
But the situation doesn´t has to be SWF.

I genuinely want to know if everyone truly believes this or if it's more subjective. We all know she isn't easier than anyone else but it's not that difficult. Anyone who plays her for like 2 hours can do just fine.
2 Hours? 2 HOURS?!
I´ll juke every 50 hour nurse for 5 gens without looping, without breaking a sweat.
Try to play her on mid ranks against decent survivors which won´t run in a straight line. You´re in for some bullying. Newbie nurses get bullied a lot. -
Well you gave the answer yourself.
Survivors use SWF to get to higher ranks than they belong.
Killers tunnel and camp those survivors to get a chance to win, since SWF is overly altruistic. -

No it wasn´t. But it was the only secure way to deal with toxic survivors. For me body blocking shouldn´t be a thing at all. A 50kg Claudette can body block a running 150kg Clown?
I don't think realism is a good argument for mecanisms. In that case, most situations in this game would be sorta un-realistic. I get your logic tho.
The main issue with bodyblocking isn't that it exists, it's just that its impact can be heavily trivialized with the use of perks or items such as insta-heals, medkits or self-care. It still asks for some commitment, which usually means less repairs, tho it can become overly strong in some situations indeed. (Aka needing only 1 bodyblocker not to get your hook as killer)
The problem is not only the hook. Once the gates are open, the survivors block the killer, so het can´t down the injured survivor. Since they get a speed burst, they can easily take rounds at protecting the injured.
There´s not really much the killer can do.

@Bethany said:
Well killers are allowed to tunnel and camp survivors. So it's just fair that survivors can do some bodyblocking in that case to avoid that their mates get hooked. This actually just works if the mates are nearby. And if that's the case you still have the option to strike them down. If they don't want be hit twice they'll have to go and the hook is free
Nice theory, but it fails if there´s more than 1 survivor blocking the hook.
Also, tunnel is a made up word for the killer going for the easiest prey.
If you see a gen which is 90% done and a gen with 0 progress, which would you do? -

Campers make the game less fun and I think they should be dealt with. I want to know if camping would be counted as an "exploit" or "trolling". If I can't report then what is there to do? I would message teammates of what is going on, but between trying to determine if the killer is camping, getting to a survivors steam account, and then sending the message to the other 1-3 survivors it's hard the fight the timer to struggle phase. Were any updates announced to stop campers? This if from the Steam forum. Where people got asked what perk they would like to get rid.
Survivors want BBQ gone and this is their argument:
"Hey man, if you get dragged into the basement and not close enough to see the killer leave that is your own problem if you walk into that trap. Camp all you want, thats your time. I will keep doing what im doing over here unless You have BBQ and come right at me, or you hit someone else and i can see youre not camping." -

He will probably dodge because you are 4 loading in at the same time. Do I fault them? not really, they can easily get another game in 1 minute since no one is playing killer. Not my game below but someone posted it on facebook, killer's skill aside the point is that if mid tier killers are getting these types of games and the stress that comes from them I can see why people would just rather play SWF and deal with no stress. I started a new account and at rank 18 I am getting full perked out survivor teams with their flashlights and all that mess.
Inb4 run franklins, note the hotswitch. How is this not something that devs have addressed. I get hotswitches to 4 flashlights far more than I ever should. I would switch franklins on if I could..

Problem is, the majority are survivors. If any proposal that would benefit killers, gets nuked. While every proposal that benefits survivors, becomes the best thing ever, then this game will end up even worse than it already is.

Since it pretty much relies on saving other survivors, my personal suggestion would be something minor but still helpful, such as faster unhook times to the point where you don’t need to do that fake out thing and then go down, just my suggestion thoughYea something like this sounds nice.

I mean with BBQ you're not competing with 3 other players to get stacks. It can also be hugely risky to take hits for other survivors or attempt unhooks. Hooking survivors is not risky, it's necessary. I'm not saying WGLF is easier but whether one is easier or not is beside the point. It's not like WGLF needs to give unhooked survivors a 30 second sprint burst, but it's really not that difficult to come up with a slight buff that actually affects gameplay.Hooking survivors is not risky? Are you kidding me? It´s way harder to get 4 stacks on BBQ than getting 4 stacks on WGLF.
Remember, the devs had to nerf WGLF because people abused it and made it impossible to play. They rushed to the hook and unhooked in front of the killer. You want that back?I remember the time, 200% BP was insane. But I have to disagree, e.g. when I play the nurse it's kind of easy to get 4 stacks. I mean u see the aura of the people and than you can easily go for them. When you play good ( kill everybody - you get all stacks. But when you play good as a survivor you don't necessarily get all stacks because you can't unhook everybody. When a survivor gets hooked other survivors are often closer to the hook so they unhook them & not you. Even with the emblembs, I don't get enough points on the Benevolent emblem becuz I'm not fast enough.
Not every killer has the map presence of a Nurse. You also know that the Nurse has the steepest learning curve of all killers.
BBQ does everything to incentivize killers to leave the hook. WGLF does everything to incentivize farming the teammates. I never had problems getting iridiscent benevolent. Easiest points ever.Ik, that's why I'm playing nurse (btw hopefully does the patch make the other killers useful in r1 again). Maybe its just the way I play. But I also don't have that big problems with other killers. But I can't deny that its way easier with nurse.
I think every killer should be balanced like Billy.
Nurse has still some map spots where she can´t teleport through, and knee high cars are obstacles for the Huntress.
But Billy is in the right spot.
I like to play killers without perks and add-ons. To evaluate if they are good or not. Sadly, only 3 killers perform well without add-ons. Other killers are way to depending on certain add-ons or perk combinations. Which makes them weak in comparison with Billy, Nurse or Huntress. This is also the reason, why those are the main killers on high ranks.Trapper for example is to slow. He can´t set up enough traps before 3 or 4 gens are done. At least not on high ranks. Now adding the pressure of hooking everyone once and the match is over before he got a kill.

I love Lery as nurse!Players are overly confident on that map when they hear the nurse and unless there is an ''unblinkable'' area, it's easy to mindgame survivors.
I like to play Billy on Lerys.
For the same reason. Survivors are over confident. -

@Tsulan I have more than double your hours, but nice try. I never once waited anything close to 45 minutes. Those were matchmaking issues, anyway.Sure mate, whatever you say.

Nothing is stopping people from resorting to phone calls to talk to each other so the Killer can't hear them, which I feel like this community would definitely do.Exactly. People would find a way to play with and communicate with their friends regardless of what the devs do with swf. It is possible to play with friends just by solo queueing over and over, and talk over the phone if need be. Changing or removing swf would, practically speaking, have no effect except to make what people will do anyway less convenient and more annoying. Nothing is solved from a balance point of view, and you have a whole lot more angry players.
Then they have to balance the game while having voice com in mind.

And yet killers keep playing and I never have to wait more than 2 minutes to get into a new game. The constant whining from some people just doesn't mesh with the reality.Yes, certain killers need buffs, yes some survivor perks could use a nerf, yes there are toxic survivors. But the exact opposite could be said as well. Nurse needs a nerf, Hillbilly's instant chainsaw is OP, Doctor with the right perks and add ons is a hellish experience. There are plenty of toxic killers who body block survivors in the basement and go AFK, who hard camp for no other reason than to ensure a particular survivor gets no BP, etc. There are survivors and killers who team up to farm randoms.
Stop acting like killers and survivors are two separate classes of people. Stop whining about how one side or the other has it so hard and being teabagged or called a noob or being camped and hit on the hook is just so hurtful. It's a game, if you choose to take it seriously that's on you. If you have no motivation to play then don't.
You haven´t been around for long have you?
Missed last Summer, where survivors had to wait 45+ minute queues, only to get dodged.
Yes, those were fun times! Devs had to nerf WGLF, remove region lock and give killers BBQ. All in an attempt to give killers an incentive to actually play killer.3 out of 12 killers are viable at high ranks: Billy, Nurse and Huntress.
Every other killer needs a buff.Have you tried playing nurse yourself? Nurse has the steepest learning curve.
Billy has no instant chainsaw.
And the doctor makes you scream, wow... so OP!I have over 850 hours. Half of them as survivor and i´ve never been held hostage by a killer. NEVER!
But survivors sure have held the game hostage by using DH to reach unreachable spot and then go afk. Or by abusing a glitch. Crotus Penn was famous for having unreachable spots for the killer. -

But tbh, what else can survivors do to escape?Have you ever tried breaking line of sight?
There are enough perks to convert every player into a stealth ninja. But no one uses them, since they are not the holy trinity.
Try Urban Evasion, Iron Will, Lightweight, Quick&Quiet and Dance with me.
Break LoS and confuse the killer. Those are the real mindgames.
Not running 3 hours in circles like the NASCAR simulator.
