i have been playing since day one on ps4. all survivors are p3 and two killers p3 with the rest at p2.
some observations about rank. vastly over rated and the higher you go, the greater the chance of being treated to pure crapola style gameplay. stand down, bessie and jimbob. i know what i say.
i have been to rank 14 as a killer and never went higher. the higher i went, the more swf i saw. sorry but mics have no place in this game.
i have been to rank 9 as survivor and promptly deranked myself. i have never seen so much camping and tunneling. you all can strut about like a proud peacock in heat but the fact remains...i'm not impressed. your tactics are cheap and you are bad. learn to play without a mic, learn to play without having to camp. anyone in denial of these indisputable truths is a bozo. denial ain't a river in egypt. get a geip, yo.

Well you gave the answer yourself.
Survivors use SWF to get to higher ranks than they belong.
Killers tunnel and camp those survivors to get a chance to win, since SWF is overly altruistic.
Again with the generalization..... It's talked about like solo survivors don't even exist anymore.
But yeah lots of SWF in high ranks. Overly altruistic ones because they don't want their friends to die. Making camping really viable.
You need to use the altruism of SWF against them, this is the only way you have a chance. I really hope devs will adress SWF soon, because in my eyes it is destroying the game
Why does it need SWF? It worked pretty well before they added it....

The reality about rank is that it's rather irrelevant, and except for some rare case of decent matchmaking, it's mostly to give people a reason to keep playing the game while satisfying their ego.
Seeing a bar to progress always make people feel like they accomplish something, and it's actually what ranks do :
They make you feel like y ou accomplish something, while you truly don't.
It's better for sure, better than the Bloodpoint system. However currently because of SWF and other broken nonsense Rank is really more of a suggestion of someone's general skill/annoyance factor.
There is nothing wrong with SWF. Players love being able to play with their friends. Its great fun. If a group of SWF is toxic, that's a fault of the players themselves, not the SWF feature. Just like any trolling behavior, whether its in a group or from a single player, be it killer or survivor, is a fault of the player.
By that logic they might as well shut down the game because just about anything can allow a player to be toxic. Body blocking, tea bagging, camping, tunneling etc....the game is doomed.
i could not agree more. i hear that there is a shprtage of killers on pc.
