To be fair, breakdown should just be disabled till it is fixed.
Yes, but i doubt they will do it.

Who gets more punished for camping? The camped survivor or the killer?
That is the issue. If I would get points for staying on hook while others do the objective, I wouldnt mind it. But when I'm the one camped, I get nothing in return at all. The killer can still get points if he wants, the camped survivor? Nope.
Both equally. No one gets points while the killer camps.
-
@Pulsar said:
What do you propose?
Killers that feel confident about the situation, don´t feel the need to camp.
But when 3 gens go by the first hook, then i don´t blame the killer for trying to pressure survivors by camping.
Possible solution: Give killers more incentives to leave the hook. Not losing 60% of the objective after the first 1 1/2 minute would be a start. Maybe add bloodpoint bonus for alternating hooks. The more hooks passed between hooking a survivor a second and third time, the higher the bonus.

I have been accused of tunnelling all four survivors at once. Clearly this term is..... fuzzy.
Same. Doesn´t matter how the killer plays. Even when he hooks everyone before he proceeds to go for the second hook, he gets accused of tunneling.
-
There are not enough killers around. THIS is one of the issues that caused the problem.
Honestly, just switch to survivor until the new mmr goes live. Otherwise you´ll get a lot bad matches.
-
@sulaiman said:
They are not, your perception might be biased.
But they are.
People don´t understand that there is a difference between planned changes and bug fixes. The later one might take longer, due to the spaguetti code. But its cristal clear, that the devs only nerf survivor things, when survivor queues are long and people complain about it.

I feel like that would be too much hassle for survivors and you'd lose alot survivors just because of that. Also, basing that round a ferocious player as the killer almost 9/10 games they're more than likely to he screwed over.
I personally think they should have at least 8 gens. As 5 gens do pop too quickly. Can easily get 3 gens done at the start of the match within 2 minutes of launching. Or maybe add 7 gens and someone has to be responsible to fix the EG switch as well?
Nah, i don´t think so.
If they implement a tutorial (with big messages, every time you boot DbD up, until you completed those), then people will get used to it pretty quickly.
-
But, as you said yourself. Killer DO get punished for camping.
Unless the camped survivor throws the game, the others can complete the remaining gens and pull a rescue, while the killer got 1 or 2 hooks during the whole match.

I'd they used that logic with Undying, this game would be in a better place right now.
Undying was nerfed, because survivors apparently can´t be bothered to do something else than gens.
Thats why NOED triggers so often.

Yeah I'm just so sick of loading up a match and everyone is a stupid high level and I can't really do much about it...especially with key.
The problem right now is, that there are not enough killers around. Partly due to the issue you described. Thats why survivors have 5 to 10 minute queues. So the matchmaking throws the first killer that clicks ready, into the same match as the survivors that have been waiting the longest.
-
The devs have planned a skill based MMR system that should take care of that. But nobody knows when it will release. The last test looked successful, so perhaps they introduce it with the next chapter.
-
@ChiTenshi said:
Can you give recent examples where this has happened?
Undying was nerfed after a couple of months for being used exactly as intended.
DS was nerfed after years of being used in unintended ways.

That would be kinda neat, make it more interesting than just sort of sitting there on the gen
Longer gen times wouldn't solve the issue. Because it's just boring.
But going for other objectives, like gas cans, could spice it up.

Any ideas of other objectives for survivors? Seeing as gen fixing is obviously a problem for killers?
Maybe add an extra gen or 2? Or make us sit at a gen that takes longer than it already is to fix? Trust... when I'm fixing a gen I feel like I'm fixing that thing for 10 minutes bro. That's solo fixing.
Survivors need additional objectives like finding gasoline and refilling the gens. Or fixing cables.

Patch 4.6.0 March 30, major bugs:
- No stun on pallet drop when the killer lunge
- Breakdown break hooks for the rest of the game
- Chest now have a better chance at giving keys than Plunderer's Instinct
Patch 4.6.1 April 14, fix:
cricket sound.
It's been more than a month and nothing is fix, except the palette stun which is partially solved.
I´d worry more about the breakdown bug, than the key bug. But rest assured, none is on the patch list.
-
Ever wondered why survivors have long queues? There is your answer.
-
Hoarder is like bringing survivors a key as the killer. Don´t do it.
-
Gen rushing = survivors doing their only objective and nothing else.
Its the safest bet to "win" as survivor. Has no counters and will get a 3 or 4 man escape, unless the survivors are plain bad.
-
Forget about keys. The devs won´t nerf them any time soon. So just switch to survivor and enjoy matches that are shorter than the survivor queue.
-
@IOIOO said:
Straight to the article and yes its about face camping, and don't you tell me that face camping has multiple counter plays and I am just "bad", Ill tell you what, I probably have more hours then any of you. Once killers get 1 kill then a 3 v 1 is already hard enough.
Some of you are gonna say "then gen rush". Scenario: a face camped survivor can buy times of 3 generator. Then its 3 survivors vs 1 killer, and then the killer choose the weakest survivor to chase and down him immediately, proceeds to face camp, then you and your teammates are doing gens. The killer knows no one is coming then comes to you and when your teammate knows he will be going for the save. Now the killer goes back to the hook and get a double down. You are the last survivor and your injured, gg.
"Its simple, make camping bannable", said by a pig main.
Ok, so usually 3 gens go before the killer gets his first hook. Now doing the other 2 gens shouldn´t be a problem, especially when the killer camps. Then BT and escape...
What you describe is a losing tactic for the killer.
-
I think I'm late for the party.
-
Low ranks = killer sided
High ranks = survivor sided.
-
Unstoppable:
- gain an additional health state, but reduces running speed by 10%.
One more time:
- single use perks (DS, Unbreakable) can be used more than once.
Hex: eye for an eye:
- if cleansed, it deactivates 1 random perk on every survivor for the rest of the match.
-
I agree on the killer experience being horrible, but a good survivor can get as much points (if not more) as a killer.
So it's not the points that make people play killer.

I was just sharing a story, nothing more. Some people shared a similar story, and you could have to, what was your worst experience in dbd ?
But I think its more fun to come after me saying Im the bad Guy for staying alive and try to do the generators.
But now I understand your point ; afking Claudettes are always rights.
No one called you the bad guy. Its just that both sides (killer and survivors) refused to give up. To concede the other side the win. Call it out of pride or stubborness. Wasting so much time for everyone involved, when everyone could have played other matches and gain so much more in the same time.
When i play solo survivor and i maxed out several categories, i don´t care if i escape or not. I achieved my goal and will gladly sacrifice myself for the team (when i can get another stack of WGLF even better) and move on to the next match. As nothing is holding me.

How could I knew they were this bad ?
Just take a second and imagine :
Claudette, in your hypothetical bad gameplay can you use Deja Vu ?
(This is really absurd, at this point, but lets make it real)
Do you really think she will say :
Of course random player, I will use Deja Vu !
No, but i also wouldn´t rant about it on the forum. So...

You have a pre match chat. Do you even play the game?

Im a hypocrit because I play to win.. wow Ive never read such an absurd comment on this forum. But you are right I should play to loose and let myself die every games, oh ! its bannable to play like that in the game rules !
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2152894#Comment_2152894
Sorry to try to play the game as I should.
I ran the killer for 4 generators, but I should take the loss and let myself die to punish myself because I did well.
The game isn´t telling you to 3 gen yourself. Ask your teammates to equip Deja Vu. So this won´t happen again.
What is escaping anyway? 5000 points and an item.

Didn’t know about this until now.
Devs probably didn’t know about this.
Perk will probably be disabled.
Devs know about it. There was a mod answer to a similar thread like 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Yet this isn't in the patch notes. Apparently it's low priority.
-
Btw, totem spawns were better before the Undying nerf. The devs moved the hidden spots to be more out in the open.
Imagine the outcry from survivors if one of their perks was useless within the first 30 seconds of a match...
-
@Anara said:

I said many times I was alone because other survivors were looking for a hatch that didnt spawned already so THEY WERE NOT WORKING ON GENS
Then take the loss and let yourself get downed/killed. You could have played more matches in that time.
-
Hex perks are not worth taking anymore. They'll be gone in the first 2 minutes. Total waste of a perk slot.
-
3 gen with 4 survivors alive is a guaranteed escape. The killer wastes more time downing someone than what it takes to complete a gen with 3 survivors.
If the match took so long, then that's on you. You can't really blame the killer here.
-
Just take a break. I know i did.

I agree that most nurses don’t fall into that category but that doesn’t mean that potential is still there.
That’s also why I want smaller maps and more predictable spawns so survivors can’t do 3 gens in one chase.
Cutting down these extreme cases is a great thing
Also if we are going off stats shouldn’t pig get nerfed? Her kill rate is very high
I think the best way to reduce the gen rush would be an additional objective. No need for smaller maps, when survivors have to finish something else alongside gens.
Pigs high kill rate is probably because of the low pick rate. If more people played Pig, it would have a much lower kill rate. But then again, most things will probably balance out once the MMR goes live.

Running in circles is how dbd is enjoyed by a lot of people hence why they hate killers who don’t do it.
The only killer that needs toning down imo is nurse since just ignores the entire game
Not according to the dev stats. Lowest kill rate.
Btw, whenever a video gets shown, where survivors rush gens in 3 minutes. People come in storming that not everyone plays like that.
Now parting from that base, why do survivors want Nurse nerfs, when not every Nurse plays on god mode? Only a couple of them. Most Nurses play actually quite poorly and can be juked (you know, that other thing apart from stealth and running in circles, that survivors can do to lose the killer).
-
I love how everyone names killers that ignore the running in circles meta to some degree.
We can´t ask survivors to change (adapt) their playstyle even in the slightest, right?
Anyway, here is some music you can play while running in circles.

The difference is how good you are at her you could be 90%accurate and maybe get 1 or 2 kills compared to nurse with 90%accuracy and get 11 hooks 4k the difference is the situations where their power can be used
With testing her, i mean someone who hasn´t mastered her and still needs to learn a lot. Survivors capitalize on that.
-
Because they can.
Test Nurse on red ranks and you´ll get the exact same results.

To be fair, new wraith does old Freddy waaaay better. One of my favorite builds was pill bottle or paint brush. Both enabled a hit and run playstyle while you had wallhacks.
Almost everything I miss about him is replicated in current wraith. Wraith can do hit and run with wallhacks way better. All that’s missing is like 2 minute long exit gates timers.
Mmhhh I'll have to try this.
-
- Freddy
- Because he was the weakest killers and a true challenge to keep all 4 survivors asleep.
- They reworked him. Changing him into a completely different killer.
- Dropped him right after the rework.
- No new main, unless you consider solo survivor. Then Jane.
- I´ll only go back to maining Freddy if they reverse his rework.
-
Because a playstyle that constanly forces the killer to switch targets to get survivors off gens, instead of camping&tunneling, apparentrly wasn´t fun for survivors. So the Undying Ruin combo was nerfed.
Now killers stack Corrupt, Ruin and PoP to enjoy slightly longer matches. I wonder how long it takes until this combo also gets nerfed hard...

His first match was against a Nurse. So i´m not sure WHAT you watched.
But for the sake of my sanity: you are right, killers OP, survivors need buffs, thats why survivors still have 10 minute queues after the DS nerf.

Are we still bringing up 3 year old videos as if the game isn't drastically different?
and I wouldn't really call that an "escape streak" if they take turns dying on the hook just to push out gens.
Are you trying to imply that if you die in one game, but a random survives you're on a "1 escape streak" etc etc, you don't actually have to escape for it to be a streak?
Oh they had another streak just a couple of weeks ago. Just to prove that nothing changed in 3 years.

@Seanzu said:

50 win streak vs 1 loss hits a bit different, no? lmao
Also I've personally not seen anyone say "here's a 50 win streak nerf this killer" I have however seen "Here's a 50 win streak, killer isn't nearly as weak as people make them out to be".
Also, have you ever watched an escape streak? It's literally 3 people throwing themselves at the killer so one person can escape with a key, literally three people throwing their entire match so one person can get a streak is not even close to a 50 streak no addons killer.
Depip squad. No throwing at the killer. Just escapes through the gate.
-
Oh the irony. Whenever someone like Otz does a kill streak, people take that as proof that killers need nerfs.
But whenever someone shows survivors do a escape streak, people claim, that not everyone play like this.
