  • Good for you, and we are talking about your ideas and I pointed out what I find ridiculous about it. You have personal preference, I get it. everyone does, that doesn't necessarily means that your ideas are actually good. Don't take it personal

Firstly - What? How is buffing solo queue by giving Kindred to them going to affect SWF at all? They're already in the possession of that info. All these changes serve is bring solo queue in line to that power level so Killer can be balanced around it. If you cant comprehend that,we have nothing to talk about.

Secondly - I didnt' say all maps should be the same size and super small. I said we shouldnt have the entirety of the Yellowstone National Park as a map. That size is stupid.

Thirdly - Look at medkits from a pure time-efficiency standpoint in generator seconds. If a survivor gets injured after 10 seconds in chase and makes it to a god loop that the Killer decides is not worth chasing (correctly) - them healing in 8 seconds with a green medkit and half-an-addon is insane efficiency and killers snowballing.

Fourth - :) Why not buff DS? You want tunneling to stay? My,your bias is showing.

Actually..yeah this statement is already insane and stupid. I am not gonna spend more time.

SWF comms are pretty much acting as a cheat the game wasn't designed for, therefor, probably SWF should be restricted to custom games, and the game balanced around SoloQ

See? you are nothing more than just a raging survivor main who has no idea about game balance but tried to play nice showcasing some ridiculous thread with pictures, to pretend that you are serious about this :))

But for the fun of it let's answer your silly arguments:

"Firstly - What? How is buffing solo queue by giving Kindred to them going to affect SWF at all? They're already in the possession of that info. All these changes serve is bring solo queue in line to that power level so Killer can be balanced around it. If you cant comprehend that,we have nothing to talk about."

-I never said anything about Kindred having to do anything with SWF. I said baseline kindred is a stupid idea and you need to sacrifice a perk slot for it. And also it will not be "activated" during slugging (so greedy now), because it is a perk meant to help with hook camps, and you don't turn slugged survivors into moving aura reading beacons, just because it would be cool for your preferences :))

"Secondly - I didnt' say all maps should be the same size and super small. I said we shouldnt have the entirety of the Yellowstone National Park as a map. That size is stupid."

-That is YOUR personal preference. Maybe others have different preferences. I like larger maps also. And of course variety is good, so big maps are perfectly fine too.

"Thirdly - Look at medkits from a pure time-efficiency standpoint in generator seconds. If a survivor gets injured after 10 seconds in chase and makes it to a god loop that the Killer decides is not worth chasing (correctly) - them healing in 8 seconds with a green medkit and half-an-addon is insane efficiency and killers snowballing."

-Again. I think medkits are fine, Killers can sacrifice a perk slot to counter them it's part of the game. The medkits don't need a nerf really

"Fourth - :) Why not buff DS? You want tunneling to stay? My,your bias is showing."

-because your "buff" ideas are stupid. especially stuff like disabling killer powers, making them work on all hook states. You already have base BT, but of course greed knows no limits. So based on your suggestions, all survivors have power disabling DS, high stun times on all hook states, and if not picked up they turn into aura reading beacons with base Kindred?

Yeah it's a good thing you are not a game dev, probably you would reduce the game population to 0 in under a month :))

  • @JacobiusWick said:

    Title.

Since the patch and it's release, I've seen a killer BP incentive maybe twice for like half an hour.

It's literally always on for survivor.

Might be a decent idea to have a set time every few days or so to swap and guarantee one or the other.

Killers shouldn't be left out because no one wants to go near solo q.

The whole point of incentives are to persuade people to occupy the side needed for faster lobby times. It's in the name. It's called incentive to do something. It would make zero sense to give incentives to whichever side is over populated at a given time to make the matters even worse.

  • Nice presentation, although I disagree with almost everything in it, at least it looks cool. Everyone has personal preference about how they imagine a game, you are no different of course.

    Now about your solutions:

    • Buff Solo Queue players by giving them baseline Kindred and baseline Kindred for when people are slugged for longer than 16 seconds.

-No, you don't get separate buffs for solo Q, every game adjustment is global. The difficulty in random teams comes from your random team members not being as invested or skilled, or interested. It's the same in every game when you team up with random people instead of a team you are used to and play together often with comms and such. Plus the baseline Kindred probably will never happen. There is already a base BT, but base Aura reading of the killer without perk investment is a horrible idea and of course it shouldn't be done. And naturaly you will not turn slugged survivors in aura reading beacons.

    • Significant nerfs to medkits. They're way too strong. Brown medkits should be at 0,5x speed and Green Medkits should be at 1,25x speed at most.

-Medkits are fine as they are in my opinion. But if you want to change them around a bit let's say we nerf their flat healing and buff the skillcheck or something.

    • Overperforming maps should be looked at - Cowshed/Springwood/Garden of Joy - all of these maps need nerfs, they're substantially skewing the results of all games in DBD.

-I'm not sure most maps are realy that bad, except the new RPD which can be a real pain depending on survivor teams or killers

    • Buff & Rework the most underperforming Killers, especially those without much of a chase power,or those countered by information sharing between survivors. E.G Hag,Sadako,Myers,Trapper.

-All killers are followed closely based on their global performance and the game is updated accordingly, I presume. Buffing them around information sharing in mind between survivors makes no sense however, since the game was not designed with direct information sharing in mind, which is why we have aura reading perks and such. SWF comms are pretty much acting as a cheat the game wasn't designed for, therefor, probably SWF should be restricted to custom games, and the game balanced around SoloQ

    • Nurse needs to be significantly nerfed - she brings an infinite myriad of issues, not only ignoring any survivor skill and bringing the game down to "Is The Nurse going to ######### up or not" and making perk design problematic with dozens of perks needing to be nerfed due to her.

    -well Nurse is Nurse.

    • Revert the baseline cooldown & speed burst changes. - those are really, really bad and should be reverted.

-I think they are alright for the time being, they are very low requirement features

    • All maps should be smaller. There should be no map as large as Shelter Woods & Red Forest.

-That would be quite boring and we need variety. No, not all maps should be small, and there are killers and survivor perks which perform better on smaller or larger maps. Nobody needs to dumb down the variety in the game even more, even if it feels sorta fun to imagine that every map is just as small with high concentration of pallets and loops. Size variety is perfectly fine to keep the game fresh.

    • DS should be brought to 4 seconds, with it disabling Killer power usage for 6 seconds and active on both hooks.

-Ahh you are getting greedy now. No. It will not happen. :)

    • A nerfed version of Corrupt Intervention blocking two gens for 30 seconds or until a survivor is downed should be introduced basekit.

I personally never cared about Corrupt Intervention much, it's a matter of taste, but I prefer perks that stay useful through the match. However Making it basekit is just as much of a silly idea like the Kindred basekit you mentioned. If people want these they need to invest perk slots in it.

Anyway, cool pictures and all nice job, just your idea that one or another role should be "more stressful" makes no sense and I don't quite agree with most things you said there of course.

"Wanting this game to not be a 50% split between kills and esapes is unhealthy. This isn't a story mode or a singleplayer game. It's a multiplayer game - you should try to give everyone an equal chance."

Well already everyone has equal chance, but some survivor players perform better and others perform worse. Same goes for killer players. And before you bring it up, yes 39% escape rate is quite good in a 1v4 multiplayer game

  • @JakeParkSimp said:

Agreed, killers' ability to humiliate you and waste your time is obnoxious in some cases, and it often happens without any kind of provocation from the survivor side (looping well and trying your best to survive is not a provocation). Slugging and following you with their red stain is probably one of the worst offenders. Some killers have fragile egos and love to go on a crazy power trip with this game, showing no empathy for the other side.

There should be a chance to opt out from these kinds of situations without a penalty.

Some survivors have fragile egos also. That's why posts like this exist.

  • @Ciabe said:

    Statistics are the best liars.

I don't doubt 39% is the actual mean of escape rate for all survivors from all matches globally. However, that is masking a very big lie through omission with selective statistical presentation. Pre Patch BHVR happily released perk usage rate by MMR tier to justify itself. Note how they did NOT break down escape rate by MMR this time. The reason is quite simple.

High MMR SWF survivors probably have an escape rate of 50-75% going off data I can find and I think most true high mmr killers would concur. Those high mmr survivors also play a lot of games. So you have a small subset of your playerbase, maybe 10-20% who play lots of games that are skewing the number higher to 39% (which already seems painfully low).

So this means our low and medium mmr survivors are likely seeing escape rates of 15-25%, 30% tops. My own data from just under 400 games since 6.x patch pegs it around 15-20% (yes I'm probably low tier mmr now) and I've seen similar data sets from others.

What we need is escape rate broken down into MMR ranges and SoloQ vs SWF. Would also be interesting to average every players individual escape rate, then take a global mean and median of all players. This would remove impact of a pro survivor playing 1000 games in a week vs casual playing 10 games in a week. If there is a huge difference between the mean and mode, that would heavily indicate stats being skewed by a few highly skilled survivors. Same thing is done in economics, looking at the average/mean income isn't helpful because you have a few outliers earning tens of millions of dollars while the median shows your more true "average".

I'm also unclear how they intend an elo based mmr system to function if they aren't aiming for a 50/50 win rate. Seems like they were really close to good pre patch with 47/53 (although even that was getting skewed by high escape rate survivors). If most of your survivor player base sees under 30% win rate and killers get over 70% win rate, your mmr distributions are going to look like two inverse curves. Fear my mspaint skills to see the issue. How are you going to make good matches when each player base is lumped together on each end? With two different pools you have to match between, you would ideally want them to be similar shapes. This is probably why high MMR killers had bad queue times early on before they widened the spread.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TPJJM9MWMGFK/image.png

"I don't doubt 39% is the actual mean of escape rate for all survivors from all matches globally."

If you don't doubt that, then why you write a wall of text arguing that not global stats matter.

The game gets updated with features, or balance changes based on global stats they don't make a separate patch constructed towards every player's skill level, every region's pickrate, and so on. The game patches are globally applied so ONLY global stats matter even if you love imagining every single scenario in the book.

Honest question: Why is your internet being Starlink significant? I've never heard of them, but the way you keep saying "it can't be my internet I've got Starlink" like it automatically refutes the very idea implies it's supposed to be good(?).

It's basically satellite internet. It's Elon Musks satelites, Not super reliable, but has good coverage in places where you can't get cable. Your connection might have issues. Especially if it happens as often as you say it does. Not some underground mafia of attackers chasing you

Why are you doing something, no matter what it is, for 1000 hours if it's boring for you? Especially if it's not your obligation like some job you dislike but do it anyway. I never understood this. A GAME is boring for someone, but they are over 900 hours playing it

you mean swf who cheat and troll. Nothing new. Yeah that can happen to anyone, like I didn't have my fair share of flying people and self hooking idiots. It's not that new. • @Man_of_triangles said:

Kill rate is irrelevant. What is relevant is how those kills are distributed. Is it all 4Ks against solo queue and 0Ks against killsquads?

global stats are relevant, and how those are distributed between different type of players are completely irrelevant. Also for example different regions seem to have different favorites in survivor builds and killer pickrates. The devs said repeatedly that the game will not be balanced separately between one region or another, between one type of survivor to another. Global stats are important, and the game is balanced around that. And any changes are globally applied, not separately between people, regions and separate success rates between type of players.

So basically kill rates are relevant, and escape rates are relevant. But not separately between types of players. That's irrelevant

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3190554#Comment_3190554

Giving solo survivors information on what their teammates are doing would be a step in the right direction. Many other games give their solo players some form of information system at basekit. In dbd we have to patch those issues ourselves with perks.

no, that is a bad direction, since the game wasn't designed around information from communication. That's why we must use perk slots for some information, and other means which exist in the game. If they would enable communication in the game, probably killers would be buffed way up also later to counter the new situation, and you would have another thing to complain about.

The game wasn't designed with that in mind, swf communication is pretty much cheating because it bypasses the natural limitation of the game and how much information you should receive based on your skill and perks you have equipped.

A step in the right direction, if indeed most people play Solo, to restrict SWF in custom games. And then we take a look at winrates and stats again.

  • oh so now their underground buddies are coming to make him say hello to their little friend! :))

But no that can't be the case, it must be everyone else being "really dumb".

well teh dumb part is subscribing to a video streaming service you don't need because of vague lootboxes with random free stuff in them. But Of course your money, your decision. It's like you buy a whole car, because you get sometimes free air fresheners at some gas stations or something :)) It's on you really. Nobody told you to buy a car, even if they give some free stuff to the car owners. How dare they not delivering something nicer among free stuff? You wouldn't have bought the car otherwise. I mean to be fair, it looks bad on BHVR regardless of how absurd it might sound. I understand what you are saying, but at the same time they aren't gonna be let off the hook that easy (no pun intended)

I think 400k as an exclusive reward (the wording PG uses) is pretty yikes when you consider it's not even in-game shards but points that you can easily earn from playing some matches.

Correct. Exclusive means something that isn't available in any other place and impossible to acquire by any other means

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3190589#Comment_3190589

People already have and they themselves acknowledged that they had underdelivered.

"We are extremely sorry for the misunderstanding due to the use of the word "exclusivity". Although we strive for 100% customer satisfaction, we completely understand how frustrating it must have been to face this situation. Our team is currently working on fixing this wording for future drops. We truly apologize for disappointing you."

well 400K BP isn't even exclusive. you earn it by playing. Exclusive means an item which is impossible to earn otherwise. And so earning BP is not exclusive to Prime.

    🔎

"It was really dumb of you to pay for a service that was advertised, expecting the company to deliver to the standard that was advertised, and that's entirely on you and not on the company."

This kind of attitude is EXACTLY why companies continue to get away with consumer rights violations and underdelivering on services. The level of out of touch is ASTOUNDING.

well go to Amazon then and complain the the free stuff included in their services aren't cool and you don't like them lol

Probably that's part of the reason they make millions because people like you buy stuff they don't even need.

I'd like to think that whatever people subscribe to and their reasoning is none of other people's business.

Oh absolutely. My personal opinion, that it's dumb, but the reason behind it is theirs only. I'm just laughing that they complain about free stuff. Unless they didn't need the video service to begin with. In which case it's sorta dumb and funny to buy something you don't need

The service: Subscribe monthly to receive in-game rewards!

People: Oh hey, that sounds cool, I'll try it out.

You: Wow you're actually really dumb for subscribing for the advertised rewards and expecting to actually get decent rewards because the core of Amazon Prime is a delivery service so it's unreasonable to expect that they could possibly deliver in any other market.

And it was very dumb to subscribe to something you don't need for some free bonuses. That's really on you, not on BHVR

  • oh and by the way, my subscription is 13.5 RON/month which is only like 3$ or less. So it's cheap as hell for me. I can buy a pack of smokes with 2 months of membership

Amazon themselves literally state that after your free trial, Prime Gaming is "Just $14.99 per month."

You perceiving the content as just "free added bonuses" gives them the perfect excuse to deliver low-quality rewards 🤦

like I said. It's YOUR problem if you subscribe to a service you don't need for random free drops. Because that's really dumb. And if you cancel or don't subscribe, this doesn't affect you anyway

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

The fact you perceive this as "free stuff" is an absolutely insurmountable win for Amazon and BHVR. They've marketed so well that people genuinely believe content you have to pay a monthly subscription to receive is free.

Well if you subscribed to a streaming service just for free lootbox stuff in it, that is kinda dumb really, sorry to tell you that. It was your problem to begin with subscribing to something you don't even need just for some free "bonuses" (which you ended up not liking afterall).

Then there is no reason for solo's to play this game. Because 9 out of 10 games we aren't making it because of the actions of the team. We just take the punishment and keep quiet. 👍 nice

well it's your game and your own time. If you feel like taking a break, by all means.... It shouldn't be a punishment. This isn't your job. Nobody is punishing you.

  • Yes. It is. A subscription to a service that has nothing to do with Dead By Daylight. It's just free drops in it for countless games. So you didn't buy the BP. Nobody told you to pay for a subscription you don't even need.

no you don't. You only need to claim it. If you are talking about Prime Subscription. It's nobody's problem if you only pay for a subscription to get free stuff. You paid for the service. If you paid only for FREE give-aways and you aren't satisfied with them... well complain to Amazon in that case, tell them that you need more free stuff.

Because otherwise these are completely free giveaways, you didn't pay for the skins. Read your subscribers agreement if you don't believe me. you paid for the service. Nobody told you to pay for a service you don't need just for free stuff now and then. But the BP was completely free.

"And about SoloQ, if you want the devs to balance the game around SoloQ only, probably you should ask them to restrict SWF to custom games only. But since they are not doing that, the percentage in games is GLOBAL" how is this a solution if you already know they WONT do it. That's not a solution it's a contradiction. If you look at my previous post I've already proposed a solution to punish bad behaviors from randoms, make it less stressful for solo's and reward killer.

Well if they "WON'T" do it then it's absolutely pointless to speak about SoloQ and SWF winrates separately. So It makes no sense to even bring that up, right? It's the same pool of players otherwise.

So solo q's should just quit the game since it's very likely the randoms will drag down the game and cause them to lose no matter how skilled you are? Gotcha 👍 because that's fair

Okay, propose a better solution then. Because I proposed it. Since SWF has an unfair advantage but still is mixed in the same pool of players as SoloQ, you will never be able to separate winrates and balance the game around that. I proposed to make SWFfor Custom games only, while regular play should be SoloQ. If not..... You can't complain about the game being balanced over the entire pool of players, and not around one or another group of players you prefer to play or something. There's no better solution to this unless SFW is removed and redone the game stats without them. And see if things need a change.

If not, the 39% winrate otherwise it's a very good winrate for reasons mentioned above, and the killers also deal with sweathy SWF all the time not just SoloQ players. It's not that the killer can chose to target SoloQ only to play with.

  • oh my... people complain about free shlts

True killrates above 80%, well have a fun playing survivor, especially solo, so killer mains, can feel very powerful, after a power role meant to have extremely unfair advantage, playing survivor means to be a loser prey for killer to have fun with.

"True" Killrates? based on your imaginary stats or something? :))

What percentage of that is swf? What percentage of that is solo? What percentage of that is High MMR? Low MMR? Beginner players? That 39% is meaningless if 30% is swf with high MMR and the other 9% escaping is solo's and beginners. It's not an actual representation of WHO is actually making it out so these percentages are irrelevant on a much grander scale

what are you even talking about. the win rate of beginner players is always lower in every game. Why would it even matter what a beginner's winrate is when he is not familiar with the game yet? That's the situation of being a BEGINNER in anything. And about SoloQ, if you want the devs to balance the game around SoloQ only, probably you should ask them to restrict SWF to custom games only. But since they are not doing that, the percentage in games is GLOBAL, regardless of who's in SoloQ and who's beginner and who plays in SWF. And the game is balanced around global stats.

So you are basically trying to overexplain it and find excuses. the global stats matter and that's the end of it. 39% is a very good winrate for survivors (even if as you said that number might be dragged down by soloQ and beginners)

  • 39% escape rate is quite high so it's mostly balanced.

every game has 4 survivors and 1 killer. so that means almost half escape. Well at 50% would be half. But very far from 3 kill games which would have 25% escape rate on average

So it's balanced so far. Keep practicing guys. Like in every game.

Did you forget killers can force survivors off gens, but survivors can't force killers off hooks?

sure, that's the dynamic of the game. Killers chase survivors, not survivors chase killers. Killer's job is to find, chase successfully and kill survivors, survivor job is holding M1 at stationary gens and open the exit gate and get out. Killer is trying to prevent the survivors to succesfully finish their job, and survivors do the same.

  • Just regular cheaters. Some attempted to escape even after I initiated the EGC and the timer ran out. They tried to prevent dying by hooking themselves, then one of them teleported out and the game showed as escaped, but in a moment it simply changed to sacrificed because EGC ran out anyway so it was not possible.

Probably cheaters with too many spare accounts to burn after they get banned. All were showing that cross platform globe thingy. I was even thinking turning off cross platform, since there are fewer hackers on platforms where they can lose their account and it didn't have free DBD giveaway.

  • oh the world is ending! A comet hit the planet! I just didn't notice it. But you have screenshots in case we missed something :P

Gens don't run away? That is your argument? Really?, Haha dude, this is a new low waw

No it's not my "argument" I just showed you that I can say stupid things also since your argument around slowdown perks and easy game was nonsense. So yeah we can do this all day. How hard is fixing gens? It must be really hard lol. The only way to make this even easier is to remove the killer from the match so you can play gen fixing simulator :))

  • @sluc16 said:

Just run two or three gen slowing perks and that's it, three or four easy kills, no need for skills at all. Is so stupid.

oh really? Gens don't even run away, why do survivors camp it? it's so easy! Needs no skills at all to hold a button :)) See? We can do this also. Come on, your argument makes no sense
