My brother in Christ, I know you were around when there were actual infinites.

The term infinite refers to a loop you could do nothing about. You can kick the pallet, I assure you.

    This.

Long ago there were countless infinites, but the maps were adjusted accordingly. Removing some popular infinite loops, adding the window blocking after a few vaults, so on.

There are no infinites anymore. Sure there are more or less difficult chase areas, but you can catch anyone with enough persistance

  • the hatch is a situational, alternative escape route. Technically it doesn't even exist as an option unless condition are met for it. A survivor planning for something that doesn't exist is his own fault. Some ideas or strategies can and may be denied. Especially if it becomes obvious that the survivor is counting on the hatch and not doing gens, or advancing the game by any means. The hatch not the main route to escape. It's a situational escape route, for which the conditions are NOT met if there are 2 survivors still in the game. So don't count on it.

A basekit NOED that only activates when hatch is open would be relatively fair.

sure. hatch open or exit gate open, both provide an escape route. So survivors can risk to stay and try for a save, or escape, and killer can risk allowing it to open because he has a chance to down them. It would provide a risk reward scenario for both sides.

MM can have inifnite T3 with his best addon. If you are good with him at being sneaky you can often get to T3 before you lose one gen.

The Ring can never have that. She has mobility but no power. She is literally one of the worst killers in a chase. What is there to not understand?

Michael has two built in tools to help him during a chase as he has a fast vault in T3 and he has extra lunge range. What does the Ring get? She can phase through people with her manifest. Guess who has the same trick while stalking? Also nobody can take protection hits from MM when he's in t3 because you instantly go down.

Slugging for the 4k is not equivalent to survivors attempting a 4E. In a 4E attempt, it's extremely risky and likely to result in a trade. Slugging for the 4k has no risks. The survivors can't do the remaining gens at this point, and you're only doing it to prevent the possibility of the remaining survivor getting hatch.

The person on the ground has to bleed out for 4 minutes because it would be stupid for their teammate to pick them back up knowing that they'd just be taking the bait. There's a simple solution, though. Let survivors choose to bleed out faster. But I'm sure if that was an option, killer mains would cry about how it's unfair that survivors have hatch while killers have nothing equivalent.

well we could do it like this:

Killers have basekit NOED when the hatch opens, or endgame collapse starts. It would give them the incentive to not slug that much, and also would make it risky for survivors to stick around when an exit gate is open. And they would need to measure their choices more

She's really fun, until you start going against good survivors, then you're an M1 killer with no power playing pallet break sim 2022

Well I have been going against good survivors. I can't avoid that after playing her quite a while

Actually the new awful RPD map was quite good on her, having a smaller multilevel area where she has no problem moving around, and because of the TV-s being closer grouped up since the size of the map is smaller, I was able to remove her TR quite a bit making her a quite scary killer

She's especially good on smaller maps like RPD and Midwitch, but I have no problems on others either.

Have 5000+ hours so a bit of a god perhaps 😀 And yet I get killed by mediocre killers more than I should.

Perhaps they aren't mediocre killers compared to you, that's all.

  • Sadako isn't the best killer for sure. But she's far from being the worst. Plus this game isn't our "job". People play because they have fun. And Sadako is very fun to play in my opinion. I like her very much. I grind for her bloody clothes right now. GOTTA HAVE THEM!

Maybe it would be nice for her directional lullaby to be removed, and devs should take a look at her underwhelming addons, but otherwise she is really fun to play

  • The killers pretty much do their best to avoid endgame, which is pretty much a failure if all the survivors are still standing. I'm not sure how can that be seen as a "crutch" for killers

I don't really know. Be strategic with those traps, don't just spam some area with it, her power isn't from hook trades or anything like that. I use traps to catch people. "Devs have repeatedly stated slugging for 4K is a legitimate tactic."

Oh please, give me those statements. Ones that are recent too btw. Because they stated camping and tunneling was a legitimate tactic untill they started addressing them. Devs have also repeatedly stated that using Dead Hard to reach windows and pallets was a legitimate tactic. So please, one thats recent, and not from 2020.

As for survivors hiding and refusing to touch gens is a reportable offense. Yeah, "Survivors". Not survivors. Any survivor can hide and refuse to touch gens. In fact, 3 survivors could hide and refuse to touch gens. As long as the game progresses, there is no issue. The full quote contains the fact that survivors are not progressing the game in any mean and thus prevent the killer from finishing the game in an orderly manner.

"Killer goals are to deny escape"

No, that isnt their goal. Their goal is to kill as many survivors as they can. Not to deny escape. This is why the hatch exists in the game. This is why many people are trying to get devs to a point to either change slugging in a 2v1, or consider it holding the game hostage. Because the killer's next goal, after downing a survivor, is to hook them and then find a new survivor. Sometimes dropping and keeping them slugged is better to pressure other survivors during a chase. Slugging someone for the 4k isnt doing either of those. You do not add any pressure, in fact, you remove all the pressure in the game, because the survivor has no reason to work on gens anymore, since the hatch exists.

Defending gens is part of the game, hatch is part of the game, slugging for the 4k only became recently part of the game after nerfing the hatch, now its time to nerf slugging for the 4k

slugging has nothing to do with holding the game hostage. Holding the game hostage implies that someone is literally blocking you from continuing your objectives and advance the game by any means. You are perfectly free to continue repairing gens and heal the downed teammate. Which is your job, and the killer doesn't deny that at all. So he doesn't hold the game hostage. Maybe he denies you the preferred strategy you would LIKE to use, but that's his choice.

The hatch, from the start of the match, is part of the game. Simply saying you cant consider the hatch without it actually spawning is like demanding Trapper to not trap the exitgates untill they are powered. The Trapper traps the exitgates in advance because he knows they can be powered, just like the survivor plans in advance to use the hatch, because they know it will appear.

So what is it, is Trapper trapping the exitgates before all gens are finished not doing his task, or are survivors waiting for hatch doing their task? You cant have trapper doing his task and the survivors not, because with your logic, gens are still remaining so he should patrol those rather than the exitgates.

wrong again. the hatch doesn't exist as an option until you are the last survivor. So it's not part of the game unless the conditions are met for it.

"..... the survivor plans in advance to use the hatch, because they know it will appear." -Nope, maybe it will not appear, stop planning for things that don't exist yet. Until the killer is hunting and looking for you and kills you, he is perfectly fulfilling his obligation. He is planning for things that do exist there. You are there and he's coming for you. The hatch isn't there, so what are you actually doing?

If there is no risk, then its a free kill. Downing a survivor isnt a matter of skill, its a matter of time. Having a risk means you're forced to down a survivor early, this is the skill part of killer. When there is no more risk, there is no more skill required. If there is no more skill required, its free.

As for "In which is explained what is the objective as a survivor, waiting and hiding until the hatch opens isn't among the things written there."

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OJYTUEZD38MO/image.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/00OUI6BMSEFA/image.png

This completely debunks your argument for waiting and hiding.

As for the survivor objective of doing gens, well, look at the killer version countering your other argument too:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KN52SLQK5K87/image.png

This is more than enough evidence proving that slugging in a 2v1 is the killer wasting time, not the survivor, like you erroneous try to claim.

oh don't worry the killer will carry the survivor to the hook without fail. Whenever he wishes to do so. Including the last survivor. He is doing his task, don't worry. You just keep doing your part.

if someone is slugged you don't have a hatch for alternative escape so the hatch escape isn't among your objectives since there are 2 living survivors, even if you wish there would be only one, you. The alternative escape route doesn't apply, only if you are the last survivor in the game. And you are not.

So failing to do your own task and blaming the killer for it who is actually hunting and looking for survivors is just pointless.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3164527#Comment_3164527

But what is the risk? There is none.

As for no such thing as a free kill, yeah, there is. And for the last bit, if a survivor escapes the match, its their effort, and their escape, no such thing as a free escape. Either you worked for it, or you sacrificed something for it. If hatch truly was a free escape, it would be accessible at 5 gens.

Sure there is not much of a risk killing the last survivor. But that doesn't make it a free kill. It's within the rights of the killer to chose the course of action and the order he wants to harm or kill survivors.

  • I brought up the game guide. In which is explained what is the objective as a survivor, waiting and hiding until the hatch opens isn't among the things written there. So I just underlined that fixing gens until the gate is powered up, and help your teammates when you can is indeed your objective. And the killers objective is finding survivors and killing them. Again he has a number of options doing so, and in any order he choses to kill them. He can do it by mori, allowing somone to bleed out, sacrificing, or having them killed by endgame collapse. It's up to the killer to chose the course of action for that.

But sure if you want to talk about rules, we can do that too.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3164428#Comment_3164428

Because they consider it a free escape, when its really not. Which is especially hypocritical since slugging for the 4k would give the killer a free kill.

No, it doesn't give anyone free anything. The killer must catch and kill the survivor. they don't die by themselves. There is no such thing as free kill. Unless you stand in front of the killer begging to be killed. If he chases you, it's his effort and his kill.

LOL - Forums have been hilarious this week!

Feel free to crawl towards the other survivor or throw yourself at the killer asap if you want the game to end faster.

If you want to get an attempt at hatch, feel free to stealth for 2-4 minutes.

Gotta be honest - I don't care about other people's time when I'm playing...I just play each match and move on to the next.

If the possibility of being hooked for 2 minutes or slugged for 4 or tunneled or...any other common game scenario is too difficult to deal with, there are lots of other games with more forgiving gameplay loops.

who said it's 2-4 minutes. If the killer wants to, you will stay in the game, as long as he wants to keep you there, if you refuse to play. A slugged survivor can be picked up. a picked up survivor doesn't bleed out, he can just release him if he struggles, let him run a bit and still look for you again. Basically by not doing your own objectives, you will waste your own time, if the killer decides not to allow you a free escape.

Are you saying I should just hand myself to the Killer if the second last team mate is slugged because.... you don't like hatch? I'm sorry I'm really confused. Did you read my post?

well if you refuse to do your objectives, you already gave up basically. So you can die if you don't want to continue playing, sure. The game guide tells you to fix gens, power up the gates, escape. Help up your teammates when you can. You gave up? then you can die, sure.

It's pointless to blame the killer for wasting time. He will kill you, no problem. He's not wasting it.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3164208#Comment_3164208

Just like the generators simply show the progress on the gate. It's only present because the gate isnt powered. They are a team objective, just like the hooks are an anti-team objective. You hook survivors to reduce the survivor teamplay, survivors do gens to escape as a team. But when it comes to a solo escape? It doesnt matter if its the gate or not.

As for actively playing, well again, hiding is intended survivor gameplay. A survivor hiding from the killer is actively playing. The killer is dragging on the game for no real reason other than to guarantee a 4k if the survivor does anything. The survivor cant really drag on the game at that point, as the survivor cannot create a way to escape when the killer is actively patrolling the map, including the slugged survivor.

The time is dragged by the killer refusing to hook. The only way a survivor doesnt drag the time is by showing themselves to the killer, which, goes against survivor objective.

And you might argue that working on gens doesnt equal showing themselves, but it is. Survivors are leaving evidence of their location, which is showing themselves to a killer. The killer can kill the 3rd survivor, but is refusing to do so. The survivor is still trying to escape. Who is going against their objective here? Helping out teammates is not the primary objective, doing gens isnt the primary objective. Escaping is the primary objective for survivors. Killing is the primary objective for killers. The only time a killer has no reason to not hook a survivor, is by baiting another survivor. Slugging for the 4k isnt baiting for another survivor.

Well your objective is to escape. if you can't do that without powering up the gens, then you need to do your actual objective to escape, and fix them, not wait for the game to end on it's own. Check the game guide. Where is it shown that you need to wait passively for a hatch to open on it's own?

We are simply showing you that it's completely pointless to blame the killer for dragging the game when it's you who refuses to play it. Don't worry the killer will kill you when he finds you, so he will not fail doing his objective, only you dragged the time and refused to do yours. So it's pointless to complain about wasted time if you wasted it. The killer who wants to kill you, WILL kill you regardless if you pull time or not. So your best bet is to continue playing.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3164096#Comment_3164096

Again, here is the killer objective shown on the killer's screen:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/F23F569OJLD2/image.png

Same logic dude. If survivors HAVE to do gens because its on the screen, then killers HAVE to hook because its on the screen. You can try to dismiss the fact, but its right there on your screen to see it.

As for doing gens or not in a 2v1, that is perfectly within the survivor's choice. If the devs wanted survivors to do gens even when the task is practically impossible, they would automatically walk towards gens without the survivor being able to do anything about it. So not doing gens and waiting for hatch to spawn is an intended part of the game, among survivor options. Obviously.

If changing words in your argument ends up with an equally legit counterargument, its not an argument. Yes, slugging for pressure is intended. Slugging for the 4k is a side-effect that might be unintended. If the devs truly meant for you to slug for a 4k, they would have done the following:

    1. hatch escapes actually REMOVE MMR from killer and give MMR for survivor(this isnt the case)
    2. they would have made 3k be considered a tie(its not)
    3. they would have made catching the final survivor to be a huge risk because you leave the downed survivor alone, and they are able to progress the game(this isnt the case).

Since Hatch doesnt give or reduce any mmr, 3k's are considered a win and there is really no additional benefit from the 4th kill(this has been said a lot), slugging for the 4k right now sounds like its not intended and just a by-product. Its extremely boring gameplay-wise and doesnt benefit anyone in any particular way, it only punishes survivors.

That sounds very much like the old hatch, where 3 people could escape with 1 generator left. It didnt really benefit anyone in particular and only punished killers. Hatch has been nerfed, slugging should be next.

No that's not the objective, it simply shows the progress of the hook. It's only present when he hooks someone. The killer also has the counter of how many gens are still up, and patrol and prevent them to be fixed if necessary. Killers have the objective to kill. They can do it by mori, by allowing you to bleed out, by hooking, or by any means they see fit.

I'm merely showing you that in case the game is dragged when one of the last two survivors being slugged, the killer is actively playing because he's looking for survivors, the survivor is stalling it by hiding away. The game isn't dragged by the killer at all, he's playing the game.

The time is simply dragged by the survivor refusing to play so there shouldn't be any complaint from survivor side that the game was dragged in the end when he was the one doing that, that's all. He's the one wasting time, that's all.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3164068#Comment_3164068

Yeah, and the survivor has the objective to escape, by any means they see fit. That is their only objective.

Gens are optional for escape, sacrificing your teammates is another.

As for the generator amount remaining being a reason for the objective, and the killer has none, well, I guess you have me ther-OH WAIT, WHAT'S THIS?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/F23F569OJLD2/image.png

A survivor is down, you have hooks remaining, you should probably pick them up.

I'm not sure which part are you missing when you look at your screen.

as survivor, your objective is shown on your screen. Including to escape when exit routes are open. Until then, your objective didn't change. You can try to dismiss the fact but it's right there on your screen to see it.

About hooking or not, that is perfectly within the killer's choice. If the devs wanted the killer to hook every time a survivor is downed, they would be picked up automatically by the killer after being downed, without the killer being able to do anything about it. So downing someone and not picking them up right away is an intended part of the game, among the killers options. Obviously.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3164032#Comment_3164032

Oh, so the killer isnt refusing to do their own objective of hooking survivors? As long as a survivor is alive, its the killers objective to sacrifice the survivors.

Survivors objective is to escape. There are 2 ways to escape: hatch and exitgates. If the chance for one drops, their bet is on the other one. Survivors dont need to do gens or pick up their teammates if it means reducing the chances of an escape. The killer can instantly end it by simply hooking and then search for the final survivor. The survivor would be at worse odds giving themselves up.

It's the killers doing that causes the situation, not the survivor. Hence the problem is at the killer, not the survivor. Hiding from the killer is a legitimate tactic. If picking up my teammate will give the killer info of my location, then I have the choice to hide. As long as the slugged survivor cannot do anything to speed up their own death or gain the ability to pick themselves up, it's the killers fault.

This is how burden of problem works:

    1. you are the one slugging the survivor
    2. you are the one initiating a 4 minute countdown
    3. you are the one refusing to speed up that countdown because you dont like a vanilla mechanic
    4. thus you are the one prolonging the game

The survivors has an option to escape, escaping is their primary focus. If their chances of escape reduce by aiding teammates, it is not an action they should be doing. Claiming survivors HAVE to put their chances of escape at risk because they are stalling is ridiculous.

No the killer has teh objective to kill you by any means he see fit. He only has that objective.

the killer in this case is doing his own objective, and looking for the last survivor, the last survivor is refusing to do his objective so he's stalling the game, simple as that.

The killer can chose any route, he doesn't need to hook someone to kill. he has the options to hit once and let go and look for others. He has the option to mori survivors, he has the option to allow survivors to bleed out, he has the option to kill them by sacrificing them on the hooks. These are all part of the game.

As survivor your objective is LITERALLY shown on the screen: X ammount of GENERATORS remaining, fix them. Your teammate is down, you should probably help him.

As killer he has nothing on the screen. His objective is simple. And he fulfills that objective by actively looking for you.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3163995#Comment_3163995

Survivors lost, but survivors also lose at 3 kills. So why push on further to an unnecessary 4k if you already won?

As for deserving a fighting chance, well, they need a reason to keep playing right? Not giving a chance to escape gives survivors no reason to participate in the game. Remove the hatch entirely, and survivors have 0 reasons to show themselves. Hiding in corners, stalling the game for hours upon hours.

Survivors dont really win on escape, they merely gain extra points.

For MMR they might win through escape, but even through reasoning MMR, the 4th kill doesnt really add that much MMR for killers. The difference in MMR gain between 3k+hatch and a 4k is not really worth stalling a game for 4 full minutes.

    These sound like excuses.

The killer isn't stalling the game in these cases. The survivors are, if they refuse to do their own objectives. Until the gates are powered up, or an escape route is open, their direct obcjective is fixing gens and helping eachother. Not doing that, it's not wasting time because of the killer. They waste time by refusing to do their objectives. You see on your own screen that there are gens left, right? You also see that your teammate is down. So the gamee directly gives you objectives. Not doing that and refusing to play the game is the survivor's fault for refusing to play.

So in this case any fix can involve the hiding survivor's position to be shown if for x amount of time the game is not progressing because he's hiding waiting for the miracle escape instead of playing the game.

When I play the game as survivor, and we are the last 2 alive, I don't see any objective icon on my screen which instructs me to hide and wait for the hatch to open. You see that on your screen?

You can't agressively use DS? That has always been BS. As a killer, you can just down someone and not pick them up.

Now 30 seconds is ridiculous but 5 baseline, and 10 with DS sounds reasonable.

Killers need to fear DS. Tunneling will be used even when not tunneling becomes more effective. We need an actual punishment.

I'm sure you would like that :))

  • @Alen_Starkly said:

It is ridiculously unfun being tunneled out of the game within first few minutes, just because the killer can and fears nothing. 3 vs 1 is automatic killer win in most scenarios. Reducing the DS stun from 5 to 3 seconds was a green light from BHVR (who mentioned they wanted to counter tunneling btw) to killers to tunnel rampantly. I've seen and experienced 3 second DS stuns, they don't give the survivors time to gain distance.

There is nothing to incentivize many killers to go for someone else, since that requires them to take 2 health states away from someone. Why do that when you can just take 1 from the person who just got unhooked (unless ofc they're running Off the Record, but most killers don't seem to care). If you want to curb tunneling, make it a high risk for killers, since successful tunneling is a high reward.

Some people say that a 30 second stun would be ridiculous. I'd say make DS active for 40 seconds (down from 60), so the killers don't get DS-ed by simply forgetting that the survivor was hooked a little bit before the another one they just hooked. The DS will have expired by then, but in case of intentionally tunnelling killers, it will punish them.

So, what do you guys think? Are you tunelers who hate this idea (ofc you would)? Or do you have other suggestions for disincentivizing killers from tunneling? The killers got huge buffs in the last Midchapter, and then surely hasn't helped against tunneling/camping. Making the game easier for killers don't seem to matter, tunneling is still the easier route.

    yeah, cool story.

So the game should be made for killer to fear survivors. Got it.

    Let's move on lol

  • Probably some mechanics like boons for example shouldn't have been added. Those should go or changed in the way hexes are, once you find them they are gone for good.

Also the BT now it's used almost every single game as some tanking tool, they literally come after me and throw themselves at me to get even more value from the BT, eventualy I end up downing them in that case.

So tunneling might be an option to some people, but right now they literally try to make it a necessity, even if you would like to spread pressure.

It´s completely killing the atmosphere of the game if everything is about RE now. One was already too many for me.

What´s gonna be next Negan from The Walking Dead?

Probably it's a licensing thing. They might have some good deals with Capcom, and it's great for everyone. Sure I would also like to see so many of my favorite killers or chapters introduced in DbD, but let's admit it. RE is kind of a big deal in the horror franchize, and they also seem to be open to talks with BHVR about licensed stuff.

Among the biggest surprises for me was the Silent Hill chapter. And I was so happy to see it. I didn't expect they will be able to pull that. Otherwise I'm sure we will see many new additions as long as it is possible. Sometimes there is quite a bit of negotiation to add any new licensed material and it's not a simple task.

People should probably just stop complaining. If you want any real change to happen with the game then stop spending money or stop playing its as simple as that. If BHVR saw the player base drop in half, because lets be honest most of the player base is soloq, then changes might actually happen. People have said millions of times that BHVR does not give a crap about the community or anything that we say. The only way things will change is to show them that the players are done just sitting around waiting. Go play something different or just stop spending money on the game and things will get done.

ok, go do that. I enjoy the game like the rest of us who play it.

  • all the bloodweb items just got cheaper. It's even better than double BP event in my opinion

I think they caved in to please the majority. They adapt because of the percieved financial incentive to please the majority. It's more like they got strong armed and now theyre trying to salvage the work they put into it by splitting it into two. Which is way worse than the original map, itself, imo.

The first time I played RPD I hated it so much. Then by the 20th time I thought it was a great addition to the game.

same old nonsense when people have fantasies that balance changes happen because people mindcontrol the devs. lol

  • So last few games I basically tunneled down a number of people. It's a waste of time for me, I usualy don't do that because I like it far better to spread pressure, and not allowing them to heal. But these people basicaly run towards me to use the silly BT for body block, protect others instead of escaping. They actually run after the killer now, instead of AWAY. So tunneling them is perfectly fair since they are literally begging to be killed :)) So much for "anti tunneling" perk basically it teaches people to tunnel.

So we only want easy maps? Because we aren't very adaptable?

the problem was that since the map size it's way smaller than most maps, the pallet spawn count was still the same, which obviously became a problem because it was basically a pallet gallery. They reduced that which is perfectly normal. Even as it is, it's a difficult place to navigate but the change was needed. The devs are "adaptable" also and they adapted it after testing.

So yes we are all adaptable, that's why the map changed.

But again, "use at your own risk" means that BHVR doesn't ban for it, EAC doesn't currently ban for it, but it could in the future, right?

    lol

    whatever

Being technical here, yes Community Management is classed as Game Dev. :)

As I've said on this thread - these things are use at your own risk. There really isn't anything further I can say on this.

    end of story.

Tbh, I also haven't been banned in any game. And I've been using custom icons in this game since 2017 and I also haven't been banned.

Difference between hacks and custom icons is that one is specifically against the EULA, NOT allowed by the devs and the reason EAC exists, while the other is an innocent modification of the game files, that brings no advantage, that the devs allow (not support/encourage, but allow) and that the EAC hasn't banned for since the launch of the game.

What your argument basically is is "if you are afraid of dying in a car accident, it's best to never get in one and never cross any crosswalks".

well keep finding excuses, but we already answered the questions for this topic, so it's pointless to argue something even Mandy answered. people can listen to you at their own risk, if they want, right? Let these questions be answered by someone who has more authority than you have. And it was.

    Have a good game there.

Not necessarily on topic, but I'll have to say I really noticed that you appear in every single thread with these Karen vibes. Whatever someone says, they are wrong.

Yeah, altering game files can be bannable. But why would the EAC devs decide to start verifying a folder that poses no risk, that HALF the PC population modified??? They are updating the service to stop hackers with their constant exploiting of breaches, not to stop innocent modifications.

As a final argument: we saw in the past how modification of game files that were widely used were simply made impossible by the devs. Modding and changing of inis are examples (although the later was thankfully reversed, seeing how many people relied on those hidden settings to make their game playable).

Final thing: a few months ago, they removed custom icons. They just wouldn't work. But when the people complained, they actually reverted it. Meaning that they, while officially can't support it as per the EULA, don't mind it at all. There are literally devs using custom icons lol.

Yeah yeah you lost me at "Karen vibes" it was obvious that you are just trying to sound smart here lol

Anyway I'm just saying, people can take your advices at their own risk. As I said people can come even with hacks and talk about how they were never banned, that doesn't mean that you wouldn't be. I gave the same advice Mandy did and explained it to my best knowledge. But if you know better, what can I say. Careful, some Karen or whoever might disagree with that nonsense :))

Let's just leave it at that.

This person opened a thread about adding custom icons is bannable or not. It was answered. You try to be smart about it... well by all means he can take your advice too and move on. I explained what I know about this. And I was never banned in any game. For a good reason. because I didn't listen to some smartass advices from random people and I have common sense.

  • @get_barted said:

So EAC will ban people for altering files, but the blatent hacking and cheating it does nothing about. Intereseting...

sure they do. That doesn't mean you will not meet them in games. Plus hackers have like 90 accounts each to burn from free giveaways. But some people probably have one account, they just enjoy the game and it's not expendable as it is for hackers. So... I mean I'm not gonna tell people what to do but the questions were answered here, and people can take whoever's advices they want

Mandy is not a dev lol.

Yes you are spreading misinformation in the sense of telling the OP how they will get banned for using custom icons. They aren't bannable and period. They could become bannable, but that's you saying "you could have a plane crash on you while walking on the street, so don't walk on the street!"

Altering the game files can always be bannable, nobody will give some sort of press release about when they ban for which altered file. You simply shouldn't do it, if that wasn't clear enough. But I guess it's me spreading missinformation... Don't worry many will give you advices about hacking and how you will never be banned for their smartass advices. It's just up to people to follow these advices or not.

Officially it is not supported, not recommended, and if you get banned the responsibility is yours, that's all. Otherwise you do whatever you like with your computer.
