The game has no ranked mode. If you feel humiliated at survivors getting a 4E and fantasizing they're probably teabagging you at the exit gate then yeah play Nurse, or your family might be in danger. I just hope you're also not complaining about survivors being on communication and calling out everything you do. It also feels bad as a survivor when your teammates kill themselves on hook and one gets replaced by a bot and Blight is rushing at you while you try to finish that one gen hoping to maybe get some more extra points and to top it all off they still slug the 3rd guy to deny hatch. Come on now, stop wearing your killer glasses so much.

If you wanna be mad at someone be mad at the game devs that would rather the game's state be in a limbo of wannabe competitive to party game. If the game had both casual mode and ranked mode most of those issues would be addressed for both sides and people could just chill in the casual mode (although there would still be a tiny percentage of people who still take it way to seriously instead of playing ranked).

Nobody has fantasies about anything I'm just saying, what is happening. I'm not mad about anyone at all. I'm having great fun with this game no matter which side I play. But yes if I play killer I destroy survivors without any made up rules about the game. I'm Just explaining why that is. I play to win, and that's my fun.

Maybe you are mad about so called "sweaty killers" but there is no such thing. Either you play killer to waste your own time, I don't see the point of doing that, or destroy them all using all your tools at your disposal, without caring about any sort of survivor rulebook for killers. Just like when playing survivor. I'm not interested in any "killer rules" but it's an easier game overall.

So it depends what I wanna do today.

Simple as that I would think. Unless you think it's about who is "mad" about what, and do some personal emotional drama around the habits people have in the game. Chill and play. We simply chat about reasons here and why things generally happen

  • Every killer is sweathy and using everything to his advantage, because otherwise he has no business playing killer unless he likes to watch 4 survivor teabagging at the opened gate every time.

The game turns everything overwhelmingly in favor of survivors, which makes total sense if you think about it, since in every game there are 5 people playing. And for the majority, the game needs to be fun, in order for people to return playing from a dev standpoint, so naturally it's much more sided towards the majority in every game which are survivors, they only throw a bone to the killers if less killers are played and they want to still maintain a good 4/1 ratio for the games to be played.

So If you don't like the super fast game where every single second counts, play survivor. But if you play killer, you are forced into this situation, so it is what it is. If you want a more relaxed game, don't play killer. But if you play killer and still want to win games, you have to put in quite some elbow grease, because 3 gens will pop at your first 2 minute chase otherwise.

  • Well this community literally teaches you to be a jerk. If you fail as killer, you will be mocked without exception, so you learn to be a jerk also over time

  • "Gen rush", "tunneling", "camping", and now even something called "proxy camping". Just play the game guys, instead of coming up with new words for regular gameplay which is completely fine both by game rules and of course by devs.

I am not demanding killer mains to play nice. I am asking for the developers to take away tactics that are clearly broken and were not intended.

Yes it is intended. It's not like teh devs don't know it for years. If you have balance issues or ideas, you can forward them in their appropriate sections. But you simply come up with terms like "proxy camping" which isn't something actually real, because you are angry about some tactic or another. Honestly every single thing people do in the game is part of the game. Killers dislike some things they come up with as gen rush. But that's part of survivor privilege. And sure they will also use all their advantages to max. Just like any killer would. So no hard feelings, but it really is part of the game.

You killer mains won't admit stuff is bad until the game is literally dead. xD

I'm not a main of anything. I know there are no "fairplay rules" as playing survivor, nor there are any for the killers. And you being salty about something doesn't mean the game is dead. You have to play according to the official rules of the game regardless of which side you prefer to play teh most and these silly excuses and rules you try to apply on the other side make no sense. We all play and enjoy the same game. And I know As survivor killers can't force any sort of rule of fairness on me, neither when I play as killer. You use everything the game offers you and use everything you have at your disposal which gives you a situational advantage. We are not some sort of different community or culture if we play survivor or killer. We are the same playerbase.

The devs also constantly adjust and patch things that might be too difficult to deal with, so the gane's functionality is in their hands. Otherwise there are no additional "rules" aside of the official ones. Yes you can "tunnel", "camp", "proxy camp", or not. Your choice, your decision what you use to your advantage.

  • @Biscuits said:

I have played 6 games today, and in every single game the killer proxy camped and forced trades. The new killer anti-camping mechanic would have done nothing in every single one of these situations.

Look. Let's be honest with eachother here. Gens are popping much faster these days, you have every privilege you can ask for in team, and also survivors don't seem to have any sort of :unwritten rules" what to do or what not to do to escape. So There should not be any sort of "proxy camping" nonsense being blamed on a killer. Killer does exactly the same, uses everything and anything to his advantage just like survivors. This entitlement has to stop.

  • Mine is:

    1. Alien
    2. Alien 3
    3. Aliens
    4. (here starts the list of bad movies) Prometheus (has a few cool support characters atleast)
    5. Alien Ressurrection (just no. Aliens not cool or scary anymore, they are more like communist workers doing their job, Ripley is ridiculous)
    6. Alien Covenant (garbage)

  • There are MANY skins for survivors and Killers that makes you a bit more or less visible. And it doesn't matter. Games are meant to be fun, and we buy skins, to feel good about it, that's all. If you like it, sure, get it! You can always switch it back and forth, however you like.

I personally like the basic skin far more because I'm more of a fan of the original Alien, and not the bug hive concept. But use the one you really like. Stop worrying about these things. You just wanna kill people and look good while doing it.

  • @Seraphor said:

    Female.

There's two different 'theories' in Alien lore, one is that they're all genetically female and reproduce parthenogenetically. The other is that males are a seperate caste that haven't yet been shown, but mentioned in sonewhat questionable canon, said to fight each other to the death in competition to mate, the victor then fights the queen, and if he survives he gets to mate and is then killed by the queen anywway.

Either way, our Xeno is female.

Well as long as you wear the queen skin, it's female, otherwise it's not.

  • @EldritchElise87 said:

Actually serious question, it's something I have wondered fort a long time regarding the Alien franchise, assuming the Queen skin is she/her (although if not, that's cool too, you're a psychosexual avatar of gender and sexual confusion, you do what you want. )

The biology makes everything ambiguous, as it should be, I notice most people default to calling the default Xeno male, and while that's valid (and certainly reinforced by some fanart ive seen ahem), I really don't see it based on design and lore biology, nor does female, genders weird like that.

Would xenos actually meet the gender of "its" unironically? They/them?

Discus in a light hearted and non bigoted way.

The question gave me a laugh because of the current age nonsense around it.

But When it comes to Alien, it's definitely "it".

To explain this further, in it's first concept back when Alien 1 was created, according to the story written by Dan O Bannon (RIP), and according to licensed books later I read, The whole "Alien" concept was something very alien, never seen before. It was not exactly clear if it's even an organic being. It's very fast growth from chestburster to full size alien was not because it was eating actual food, but the whole thing seemed like it can infect, transform and incorporate anything in it's structure, basically also parts of the ship, and reshape the environment. So It was some very strange completely alien creature. The shape of it's head, was due to the facehugger jumping on a man in a suit, and copied in a distorted way even that shape. The tentacles on the back were also because the human it grabbed had pipes leading to an oxygen tank. And of course it gained a human like shape. That was the horror of it.

Now when Cameron made Aliens, there he reimagined the creature making it into some sort of bug with hives, queen like bees, and so on, losing a lot of the mistery about it, the creatures basically being transformed into a regular organic monster swarm. Bugs.

    So the question is:

You prefer the idea from Alien 1 or the idea from Alien 2? If You prefer the original Alien, then the pronoun is "it", it's a completely alien thing, which doesn't have the actual rules of how living things come to be in our regular world. But if you prefer the bug swarm Alien idea from Alien 2, then You can use pronouns. In a bee hive, Queen is female (she), the bees which inseminate the queen are male (he), and the workers don't have reproductive organs, so they have no sex really, so call the drones from Aliens whatever you would like.

    Let me be clear then.

If Sloppy is brought up, then it implies you're not healed fast enough. Then OtR will protect you.

If you are healing yourself, then you are not being tunneled. You are saying that you believe you're safe enough to heal, in which case, you are fair game. Even pre 6.1.0 DS wouldn't protect you.

In essence, if you're genuinely being tunneled before you can be healed through Sloppy, OtR will help you. If you're trying to heal yourself, you're not being tunneled and don't warrant protection.

    This.

If you are taking time to heal, it means you are not tunneled. tunneling implies that the killer is constantly after you and you only without giving you a break. So complaining about Sloppy Butcher has no meaning, since it affects healing. And you are only healing if you are not currently being chased. That means you aren't tunneled.

  • @Seraphor said:

Dead Hard certainly needed a nerf, but I do think this may have been a bit to big of a nerf. Much like when they buried Ruin in 6.1

It could be better if instead of activating after an unhook, and then deactivating once used. If performing unhooks granted you tokens, allowing you to bank DH uses for later. And in addition to unhooks, maybe include protection hits in there as well.

So: Rescuing a survivor off the hook, or taking a protection hit, grants you a token. Each time you use DH, you consume a token.

    That could work better.

well that would make it OP of course, if they keep gathering tokens like that. That would make the whole team have almost permanent 3 health states the entire game. So, no.

  • Well because of the gen regression perk nerfs for the killers. Think of gen regressions as "healing" for killers since it's pretty much that for the way the game is constructed. So of course then survivor healing also needs some nerfs

Because, especially for newer survivors that can't reliably find totems/don't have CoH, it gives a lot more self sufficiency in solo queue. Honestly, I still see it a lot - only now, I know that it's almost better to let that survivor go heal because it takes approximately forever.

75% would be silly. 50% was absolutely fine.

well every newer survivor becomes not a new survivor after a while right? We can't balance a game over new people, who aren't playing yet, or just started. Only on the current playerbase and how they use things.

  • @Jinxed said:

The old self care speed was fine imo, just because something is popular doesn't mean it needs nerfing into the ground.

well it had a reason for being too popular, don't you think?

  • Cheaters. simple as that. It used to be rare but now every second or third match I get a few teleporters after being downed, instant gen repairs. Honestly I'm surprised that the game is still alive with this management. It's hard to find another game with more cheaters than Dead by Daylight :))

Proxy camping is one of those terms that everyone uses but nobody can really define.

Like...if I see someone coming to unhook, I'll generally defend unless I'm already well in the lead, but I'm not going to set up and camp.

Yeah. Proxi camping means basically..... uh... If you dare to go back to an area you previously were at (which means if you dare to return to a gen and not let them work in peace) you are guilty of proxy camping. I mean there is no shortage of new words people can come up with.

I don't camp or tunnel. Why do you want more camping and tunneling?

Also - not trying to be nasty here - but literally everything you post seems to be relentlessly negative and sarcastic. If you're not having fun with DbD, why not look for another hobby?

He's got a point though, you know? The devs literally made a campy killer and you are asking them not to use it for that?

  • Hey, I like it.

At least I can use this on any character, not so situational like a glowing knife for Legion

Getting basekit UB when there are 4 survivors and getting it when 2 are left is not the same.

As it was stated repeatedly, it was just a test, by no means a confirmation that it will ever go live. They tested it, kept in mind the feedback, and so on. It didn't pass.

  • @Dramzar_Myers said:

When guard is active - Knight can't start his chase. He can only after guard disappears. Is it normal or it's bug?

actually I noticed this also. His chase music doesn't start, even if I'm right behind the survivor. Bloodlust doesn't add up, nothing.

It seems to be randomly happening, not always so it might be a bug

  • Well I recently returned to the game and I picked up knight also to keep the collection full

My approach was to make some sort of heavy armor scary guy from him :)

I only use guard summons for patrol and survivor detection, (so I put on larger detection area and longer patrol time addons)

And for the fun of it I build him as a heavy metal war machine.

The perks I use currently are CALL OF BRINE, ENDURING, SPIRIT FURRY, HUBRIS

Those short stun times and auto pallet breaks while also exposing them are really cool for a guy in armor charging after them :) try it. It's fun to see the instant scare when they pull a pallet on you, it instantly breaks and the big knight charges through and downs them in one hit

    3k is a win, 4k is a smashing win.

Currently slugging for the 4k has little to no downsides for the killer, it's a low risk high reward strategy. Basekit UB for when 2 survivors are left would combat this. Killers should take some risk when they slug, otherwise what's the point of playing as a survivor at 2 left, might as well add the option to "bite your tongue" or something when slugged like how you can decide to miss the skillcheck twice in hopes of giving the last survivor a chance at the hatch. And I say a chance because it's never guaranteed.

Well even when they came up with Basekit UB idea back in september I said it is a really stupid idea and most probably will not go live, but go ahead and test it. I don't mind it if people actually are okay with infinite self pickups. So it was tested, and guess what? They realized it that is a ridiculous idea. So you can forget about it as a matter of fact. It's not coming.

  • My guess would be, don't unlink it yourself, and ask the support for a safe transfer, see if they can help you.

  • @LGTV said:

Shockingly i have a couple of friends who i like to play with. My steam profile is always aviable, people can see it and i am not ashamed of it. But why do people complain that 3 other survivors in my lobby are in my friends list? I mean there is nothing wrong about playing with friends.

    Here is the thing.

People who "hate" complete strangers because of their own childish attitude are complete morons. SWF is a feature created by the devs and if they don't like it, they should take it up with the devs and offer their own suggestions. You did nothing wrong by playing together with your friends.

The problems with SWF are the general communication which is a huge advantage in a game where we are meant to use perks and listen to sounds to locate and identify our opponents. So in a game which was not designed around direct communication, it feels like cheating. That doesn't mean you did anything wrong at all by playing together with friends. This part is not your fault really.

I also suggested that SFW should be restricted to custom games, because it is a problem for multiple reasons. The game is balanced around SWF also so Solo players feel disadvantaged, and of course killers also don't find it fair if the opponents know exactly what the others are doing on the other side of the map and almost permanently know the location of the killer even without perks.

So it's a problem? Sure it is. Is it your fault? Not at all, haters are dumb.

  • Until the killer is actively chases you and hits you when he can, you can't report him for anything.

But for example if you consider slugging for 4k, 3 gen camping, and all the rest as "taking the game hostage" you are out of luck. No it's not bannable offense and of course you get punished for DC for your rage quit sessions.

  • So the devs "consistently" said that it was a test and don't count on it. We can move on. It was a bad idea anyway

  • There is a high probability that Unbreakable basekit will not happen. So I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Mandy also said it a number of times that it was just a test, and it the idea was subject for consideration and community feedback, but it doesn't mean it's in the cards for it to ever happen. So yeah don't count on it.

  • Bugs aren't bannable by any means. Even if you abuse them, nobody can prove it that it's a "known bug" for you. You have to know all the rules stated in the User agreement, aside of that it's not your job to know every patch note, or bug that is reported on forums, or follow the user section of the forums at all. That is not part of your responsibilities as a user. And every bug can be reported and eventually fixed.

  • I never really use Corrupt intervention. Early game I find survivors faster without it. I just go for the furthest gens from my position, otherwise they would be anywhere

Teabagging as described today sounds like this horrific act that should be outlawed and is actually punished absurdly enough (Valorant and Apex LOL how shooters have fallen).

When I first was made aware of teabagging is was the simple "I won" / "I beat you" after a shoot out in Halo. No one in real life outside of stupid teenagers bullying or among friends would do this (people have teeth and can use them). You have enough time to "establish dominance" and taunt your opponent to put the simple-minded players on tilt, or get a laugh between your friends in the same/other room. This can then snowball your success because they will make foolish plays that you can beat again and again. It was a marking of skill to not be stupid enough to fall for it. Not much skill, but it existed.

Now too many people are so fragile they can't recognize the gift horse they are given. Every teabag at a loop is seconds that Survivor could have been hold-W-ing, or scanning for the next loop, or making any meaningful progress to Survival against a their opponent. Every teabag I receive is a treasure, because I know I'm not stupid enough to fall for their silly little games, and they just gave me free distance.

This is an insult whose damage relies on the alleged victim to be dumb enough fall for it. Calmer heads prevail and win.

Now to the case of exit gate teabagging the Killer still has agency. You can leave and sit in a corner so they can't do anything for 2 minutes, alt-tabbed watching a video or reading. Alternatively you can force them out and move on sooner to the next match, also getting a little more Devious/Brutality/Hunter points if you weren't at cap.

With the final case of endgame chat you can click the little box in the bottom right and presto it disappears. You can also just not read it. Check out your points, emblems, player perks/add-ons and move on. If someone is insulting you, you have no obligation to read it. Unlike real life it can be hard to straight up not hear things, Online you just don't read it. There are no lasting repercussions from ignoring some dingbat on the internet in a match of a video game. You opt-in to any "abuse" you receive, and I wouldn't even call it that hence why I put it in quotes.

    I completely agree.

I mean this silly game of feeling offended about some random ridiculous thing makes no sense.

Flashlight clicking? Repeated crouching? random gestures? In no shape or form is disrupting my game, the task I'm after. Probably only disrupt theirs since they are wasting their time with this nonsense instead of doing something useful which would help preventing me winning the game.

I think there is also the psychological reason behind it. Probably many people with thousands of hours behind them don't feel like having fun anymore in the game, they were repeating the short matches for thousands of times, and they turn into these bored salty factory workers, who hate their job. This isn't anyone's job. But probably it turns into that in some people's heads when they Groundhog Day the game for years. And even the smallest most ridiculous thing is pissing them off.

I enjoy my games, I don't feel offended by random nonsense, and I never agreed to feel insulted by someone crouching, or clicking the flashlight, like that should be some huge insult which makes my hair fall out

  • @Laluzi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3206751#Comment_3206751

Do you understand what language is?

Words, phrases, and gestures gain meaning through repeated propagation until those meanings are baked into the vernacular and are universally or at least near-universally understood.

If I say "bubbery bubbery boo", it doesn't mean anything even if I intended for it to be an insult, because I just made those words up and there is no consensus on their meaning or reason for you to understand what I mean.

If I say "you're an idiot", it is an insult because I am using language with an agreed-upon meaning and that meaning is insulting.

Teabagging has an agreed-upon meaning. Its origin was meant to invoke "I am dipping my balls in your mouth" and it's evolved into a general taunt in online gaming. That's rude. People do it to be rude. I'll never understand this convoluted series of mental gymnastics that it's somehow your fault for being insulted when someone does something that is clearly meant to be insulting. Like, I get that there's plenty of people online who make getting offended about things an Olympic sport, but trying to claim language doesn't mean anything and you're a baby for ever being bothered by anything is an extreme in the opposite direction.

well teabagging doesn't truly have an agreed upon meaning, not everyone agreed to feel offended, nor consider crouching as an insult.

But sure you are right in some way. It has an "agreed upon meaning" maybe for you. One person agrees that repeated crouching is an insult and you agree to get offended. I mean that's fine. I just don't see the point doing that.

Plus it's just a videogame thing. You don't see people crouching on the street to insult eachother, and over here... well those who wanna play this game of offense and be offended from crouching, it's pretty much their idea of fun I guess.

  • @Odawg241 said:

Let me start by saying I play survivor about 90% of the time. The killer just is not scary, unless you're facing an expert nurse or a killer that's running rare add-ons. When I want a relaxing match, I pick survivor. Does this make sense in a horror game?

F13 had way more than its fair share of developer issues, and as much as I take issue with some of the decisions of BHVR I'd definitely grant they are way more competent than Gun Media/Illfonic

However one thing F13 got right is the THREAT of the killer, there was not much tbagging because you better hope he doesn't catch up to you. Sure you can bully Jason also, but he gets stronger the more you do it. I'm not saying the solution is to give killer 1-hit kills. DBD is its own take on the asymmetrical format, but I do think some fundamental changes need to be made to killer to make them more of a threat and less of a joke.

I kinda liked many things about F13. For example the whole slower burning atmosphere was very nice, the whole concept was good, but it got entangled in disastrous development cycles, licensing issues, and all the rest. I would like to see something similar though.

DbD isn't really a horror game in my opinion. Both the killer and survivor roles are super basic, and simple. It's just an action game meant for short matches.

  • Probably it WOULD impact the games, but most likely it will not actually go live in it's current form. It's still just an idea, not even due to be released even on PTB any time soon at all. They will figure it out eventually. I'm not worried about it because I will simply give it time when something like this gets released, and even if it would be released, it would be nerfed quite soon, so why even bother reacting to this?

  • @Jeromy137 said:

I think it is a good idea on paper but if implemented wrong will be bad

Maybe if they turned it into 50-55seconds for the basekit and make ub 40% speed at tier 3 it would be more fair on both sides

22.5 is to quick with ub perk boosting especially since we don't know if tenacity will boost it even further and we don't know what they will do with no mither and boon expo reworks yet

I know they are making this basekit to combat slugging and also combat the new mori system because if all 4 go down it is over

Edit: I am also tired of everyone calling it unlimited for getting yourself up when it is 4 or 5 times without perks because bleedout timer

Also you can get up more times because basekit ub is fused with no mither's ability to get up as many times until fully bled out

lol mate....4-5 times is quite large ammount. when we consider it was ONCE per match :)) and 4-5 times on each survivor is quite a bit means 4 survivors get up like 20 times. how long do you think these matches are? you will never bleed out after this. Ever :))

  • @Exxodus21 said:

The wording of the changes to mori's seems like the devs think using mori's when you have a known toxic player in your lobby is toxic in-and-of itself so they're basically removing them, but the toxic behaviors like teabagging, flashlight spamming, loud noise spamming, and holding the game hostage by refusing to exit are all fine and need no changes.

    What a joke.

    Who cares about teabagging really?

For it to be considered an insult it requires two idiots. One who actually believes that what he does is a great insult. And another who agrees to take it as an insult and agrees upon being offended by it. It's the game of stupid people.

Does it even matter? If you feel offended by it, you are part of the same stupid game of agreement of being offended.

It wouldn't even exist if some people wouldn't be stupid enough to agree upon such a silly thing being an insult and agree to be offended. Oh poor guys

  • @Belzher said:

Ok, we know it is good to dodge those boring *ss slugs for 4k situations, but do you guys think 45 seconds is too much to fill the whole recover bar? Right now it takes ~30s to make it complete. I wanna see different opinions on this topic. I've also read some comments about snowball killers getting stronger because of the "they can down everyone quick enough so nobody can get the base unbreakable value".

Well about the "basekit unbreakable" I think it's a bad idea in the current state because it is NOT basekit unbreakable. Instead is something FAR better. Unbreakable works once per trial, and this is a basekit with unlimited uses. When they designed unbreakable they made it to work once per trial to not completely remove the need to help a teammate up. But with this dying state not being a dying state, it just completely removes the need to help someone up and everyone gets up by default.

But of course let's wait and see, since it's not even due to the next patch, this idea is faaaar down the road, and even after that it will spend some time on PTB, and by then probably they change it. For now there's not much to say about it. It's in the idea stage, not a finished feature.

That's what I'm saying on gens. Perks shouldn't decrease them nor change repair speeds. Both sides. As for healing, no, as that doesn't relate to the actual objectives which currently are a chaotic element.

Everything is related to time. Faster healing speeds means also less time healing and more time fixing gens, so if you would want to remove it (we are just imagining it here because it will not happen most likely) you need to remove also the speed changes related to healing, recovering from dying state, so on. So no more gen regress speed changes also means no more gen repair speed changes (goodbye perks and toolboxes), and also means no more healing speed changes (goodbye perks and medkits).

Of course none of this is a good idea in my opinion, but if you want some flat speeds on everything, that's the way.

I realize coming up with an appropriate fix takes time, but I don't see why they can't disable DC penalties until they fix it

No. Because that wouldn't fix anything about cheating, and it would just make another problem come back: salty people who DC every game when they see fit. So we have more problems instead of less.

Gens nees to not be affected by perks, at all. Have them auto regress. Have them unable to be kicked. Nice consistent system that's far easier to balance. Also frees up perk slots to use more fun an interesting perks over mandatory gen control perks.

Okay and gen repairs shouldn't be affected by toolboxes and perks, same way healing speeds shouldn't be affected by perks at all either then. Not gonna happen really

  • You can wait quite a bit.

    1. It's not even part of the next update
    2. waaaay after that might be tested on PTB
    3. You don't even know if this will be the same if and when it goes live. (My guess is, that the current idea will be changed by then)
  • Why are you guys keep repeating that this is Unbreakable basekit. This isn't. This is FAR BETTER than Unbreakable, and ALSO it becomes basekit. I mean Unbreakable works ONCE per trial, while this basekit has unlimited GETUPPA!!! Stay on the scene-ah. Like a sex machinnnnah

Thats because if you have issues with one of the FoVs but not the other, you would just not run the perk to avoid having variation. Its now a basekit mechanic in a certain situation that theoretically should happen every single match. If both values don't cause any physiological issues, especially when alternated, it shouldn't have any impact. But for those who it does, they just got a basekit accessibility nerf.

I don't see it as a huge issue. So many games implemented FOV changes to show speed, to create a focus, so many reasons I can't even count. It's not like gamers haven't dealt with FOV changes in so many games before. But for motion sickness that really low FOV killers have by default already should be a problem. Yet people still play. Small FOV causes motion sickness to some, not wider FOV.

According to Behaviour's future change whenever Last Standing activates, both killer and survivor will suddenly have an FOV change. And it will change back if you either get someone off the hook or heal them from dying state. In my opinion this is a really bad idea because with sudden FOV changes, people are going to get motion sick from it. Especially if it goes back and forth repeatedly. I know I will. Please do not implement this feature into a future live patch.

Well Monitor& abuse has changin FOV depending if you are in a chase or not. And nobody truly complained about it, nor I ever had any trouble with that changing FOV back and forth

I know, I know. Controversial statement, but hear me out.

Because of the recent explosion of cheating (again), I think it's time we look at the DC penalty and evaluate it. As of right now, I don't think it's worth keeping in the game. Here's why.

The penalty doesn't actually stop or dissuade people from leaving the match. How many DC's do you see on a regular basis? For me, it's quite a few. How many people do you see give up on Hook? For me, it's a lot. Between the amount of people who just DC combined with the amount of people who suicide on hook, I'd say it's about equal to how it was prior to the DC penalty being added. If people want out of a game, they can't (and shouldn't) be forced to stay.

The penalty affects people who don't want to DC more than people who do DC. We all know the situation with cheaters and content creators right now. They are being forced to either DC and rack up penalties or to sit through a 2-hour hostage situation. Every time I see someone DC on Xbox and I look at their profile, they've either already shut off their Xbox (meaning that penalty is completely meaningless to them) or they've switched to another game, which also makes the penalty meaningless to them.

Now, you might say, "Well Pulsar, people would DC at the slightest inconvenience prior to the DC penalty, why would you want that back?" That's a great point. However, to counter it, I ask you to look around. Those people who DC'd before at the slightest inconvenience? They just kill themselves on hook, go AFK, purposefully seek out the Killer to throw the game or they DC. It's not really changed anything.

With the queue times being pretty good on both sides right now, the hacker situation and the general state of the game, I've come to believe that DC's penalties no longer make sense and that they are doing more harm than good. I'd rather be able to go next than to be stuck in a game where someone is cheating or if I suspect someone is cheating. I think it's worth testing it at least, thoughts?

    No. Bottom line.

Yes there is a cheating problem, but removing DC penalty doesn't help fixing that, only adds more problems on top of already existing ones. So no.

This is a God awful change coming up... I literally took a 9 month break and came back because I liked some of the changes the devs did, but now... I genuinely don't know what the devs are doing. They straight up crapped on killers with this patch note. It feels like the devs still don't understand killers. So many years survivors have been getting away with second chance perks then they get nerfed and now given back to them via basekit *sigh*

Idk man I came back started enjoying the game again but then the tunnel & camping meta started because the endurance and gen rushing meta started. Neither are fun but now the devs kinda made the game worse for killers on top of an already existing problem in the game with cheaters. Think it's time for another break already. I'll probably come back if the devs understand the major mistakes they're doing.

It's not even in the PTB yet, nor it will be during the next update, and there is still a long way to go. Plus it will be tested. so why give it such a huge importance now?

Never get camped and I don't camp when I play killer so....

You 100% were! In every game! As I see it depends on your personal sensitivities. Because for some people everything is camping. And you might be among those players who don't call every single action they dislike in a game "camping". It's refreshing to see less salty players like you.

Thats not how this works. Thats not how any of this works.

I feel like you're just stuck on someone using it to ascribe negative meaning onto the term and being defensive over that more than trying to understand the concept.

Yeah I only disagree with it's wording. Calling such action where the killer simply goes back to a previous area as "proxy camping" because I find that ridiculous that's all. Basically by that logic everything is camping. If it's not actual camping, than it's proxy camping. I just think calling it that is ridiculous. Not disagreeing with you about strategies. I disagree with the wording

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3203057#Comment_3203057

Thats not a proxy, then. The concept of a proxy is when one entity represents another, in this case the area the survivor is in is representative of themselves. You are defending that area because doing so means you are defending that person. The scope needs to be reasonable or the representation part doesn't really make sense: You would break it down to say you are defending the loop they are hooked at, maybe its a nice lil jungle gym or a bottleneck in a map like autohaven, the area around the surgical theatre in lerys, and so on. There needs to be strategic relevance between the location and its contents.

the concept of "camping" is staying in an area and not leaving it. Proxy camping is just a made up thing we can call being on the map proxy camping since we are camping the whole map otherwise and it starts sounding quite ridiculous. Camping only applies if someone stays in one place and doesn't leave. So there is no such thing as proxy camping because that's not camping anymore.
