Does window tech now only work with a map/key or is it still possible without those items?
Worked normally as of yesterday

Dumb tech and window tech work more often than not. FAR more often.

What do you expect when there's few killers? It's not a Dev problem, it's a ratio problem. People want to play survivor far more than killer, either because they can play with their friends or because it's easier/less stressful.
This is the exact reason, except that killer/survivor balance is not consistent over the course of the day.
Morning and daytime - long killer q's, but instant for survivors.
Prime time (evening/night) - vice versa, survivors' queue lasts 5-10mins.

The post-game tab displaying someone disconnecting is usually not accurate and doesn't necesarilly reflect the reality. If you get a DC penalty, either one of the following happened:
1) dc happenned on your side, dbd tracked it and issued a temporary ban (more likely). Post-game tab was just being itself abd showing false stuff as it usually does.
2) dc validation system bugged (significantly less likely but possible)

The items from old rifts appear in store after 6-12 months, the charms remain exclusive.

It's mostly about a ######### attitude of the one trying to kobe rather than the act itself

Good to know :)
-
Not much, there's no challenge at all and such games are not fair.

No one’s in the wrong.
Everything tactical that exists is valid; annoying, but valid.
Teaming up with the enemy team is a bannable offense as per game's rules, see there: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system
What the SJW survivors did was lack of sportsmanship (but by no means holding the game hostage), what OP and solo survivor did is ban-worthy.

I did 4K like 3 times in a row with Pig and no adept achievement yet. I checked my last game and it was a ruthless victory. The game was pretty fast and I think 2 of them died on first hook, so maybe you need to make more points or something? You definitly need to do a merciless game, so getting the 4k is not enouph if it's a 1 pip. I just had it in the middle of typing this! :D
You are in a 2019 thread, things changed.
Right now for the killer adept achievement you need to get a double rank-up using only 3 perks from this killer with any addons/offerings - those are not restricted. Double rank-up requirements vary across different ranks (4 iri emblems in reds, at least 3 iri + 1 gold in purple/green ranks, etc.)
You can read about emblem requirements here: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Emblems

it can happen randomly from first load up, i've tried increasing virtual memory but again it just randomly happens. I don't know what's worse, the fact that it's still happening after years of people complaining about it or the fact the only time they've responded about it is to say it's people's connections and not an issue on their side.
Sad to hear it didn't work for you.
Dbd's optimization is at the very least questionable, indeed.

3k+hatch / 4k, which is pretty much the same from my perspective

Solid 5/7.

Again, my point is not that these perks and mechanics are amazing. In fact, it's not about them at all. It's about the fact that the existence of certain effects by itself will change the way people play.
That's... not rocket science? All the perks do it in one way or another.
-
It is not competitively fair, but it does make matches more interesting.

@Orion explained the deeper mechanics and nuances of a select range of often misunderstood things in this game.
I’m wondering if you understand what the word “superficial” means...
It is not an in-depth analysis of any sort. All the presented information is rather basic, and the assumptions he makes basing on this data are at the very least questionable.
This post overall stands on the same level as "do bones to counter noed" kind of threads: green ranks (no offense) perception of the game.
In short:
-No mither is far more harmful than beneficial under any circumstances.
-Thana is viable for obvious reasons but just on two killers; all the others slightly benefit from it but not nearly enough to make this perk an optimal choice for any sort of a build, the numbers on it are just insufficient;
-Wiggling-oriented perks are generally not working outside of memeing SWFs against weaker killers; suggested scenarios are far too rare (most of the times you are just hooked at the closest spot avilable) to even consider equipping this stuff as long as you are playing ftw.
-
That's a very niche choice of perks for a killer whose M2 hits are treated as special attacks and therefore do not one-shot.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes they work and are mostly fun to use. But are they optimal? Hell nah.
-
Thats extremely superficial and sometimes just wrong.

No, the rock I speak of was added with the visual rework. It's literally touching the shack wall on the outside vault-side.
Could you add a screenshot?
-
This one?
@TripleSteal said:
Map generation bug.
The rock spawned nearby shack's front wall. The gap between the rock and the wall is wide enough for survivors not to collide and go through, but killer can't shortcut there and has to go around it.
With old transparent shack it would have created an infinite or atleast something very close to it; I assume it is not intended to be this way.
-
As for the first part, the unhook animation has been this way for at least a very long while, possibly intended to prevent people from unhooking at killer's face and sprinting away; kind of similar to how adrenaline works with a minor delay when you are in the dying state. It's just my guess, though.
After the unhook, you can run for about 0.5s and then get that weird fatigue which lasts for about 0.5-1s before you can move again.
Second question was already answered, it's a feature rather than a bug; although back in the old days it used to work differently.
-
That would be an EXTREMELY annoying perk to play against.
-
MM priority based on thumb ups/unsportsmanship reports would be a reasonable albeit a hard-to-implement feature
-
Don't present your subjective opinion as a universal fact. And l2p, too.
-
The gameplay patterns you follow to dodge tokkens penalty are quite fun.
Stbfl is good as it is.

Thank you, when did the wiki add this information? It wasn't there a few weeks ago.
I got no idea, but it's possible that it was added recently, since dbd wiki is frequently updated.

" i play legion, pig, bubba and slinger mostly with a sprinkle of clown somewhere"
And all of these Killers are incredibly unfun to go against. Legion and Clown are impossibly basic and beyond unintuitive, Pig players go past "sweaty" and transcend to the realm of "narcissistic personality disorder" and Slinger is just... he wins chases for free.
I'd be more upset if I heard people DIDN'T kill themselves against you because that would mean they're fine with these Killers being in the state they are.
It's been a while since I last saw so much entitlement within one single post.
-
Everybody received them afaik
-
A lot of replies say it is efficient - it is actually not, unless you are facing some god tier players on an unfortunate map (which happens extremely rarely in pub games).
Camping leads to a lot of extra kills because it bores the hell out of survivors, and they make suboptimal decisions that usually result in them dying. Boredom is a stronger opponent than any killer, people gladly sacrifice themselves just to get to play the game for a bit.
-
Dead dawg saloon has breakable walls in several generic tiles (TL, shack, and one unnamed saloon-specific tile).
-
Pls no
-
My hope to get at least some of the answers didn't vanish completely yet
-
Dedicate at least 10-15 hrs to guides for all the killers you play, approach to looping, macro strategy, techs and general game mechanics. Most of the information you need is never mentioned inside the game itself.

It is from observation, but 80-90% doesn't sound like observation but more like someone who hates DS. Which is absolutely fine, but not really objective.
Thanks for your input nonetheless.
What
I don't have any specific emotional artitude towards DS (besides the fact that I'm using it myself). It is just an extremely common perk.
Not quite sure what lead you to the weird assumption of yours.

DS is used by 80-90% of players? That seems awfully high to me. What makes you say this? I'm curious.
Ugh, just... observations? I thought that's what the thread was asking.
-
Give hag or spirit a shot, they can't be blinded during pallet break animation.
On a more serious note, pallet blinds are generally useless and help the killer to decrease distance gap. Listen or take a guess where they are heading and follow them while blind. As long as you don't go for random lunges, you should be fine.
-
Infectious fright, bbq, stbfl, enduring, m&a, sloppy, nurses, stridor are tier1 perks for specific killers.
If they do not work for you, it's because you are either playing killers that do not benefit from such perks, or they don't fit your playstyle (nothing wrong with that).
-
Killers can climb on these rocks as well, and it doesn't give either side any competitive advantage.
Also actually it is just one structure type of the kind that is climbable; it just spawns in multiple locations across the map because it is a generic tile for this realm.
-
Prestiging doesn't quite reward you with anything useful.
I am prestiging all the characters because I subconciously adore useless achievements, but thisbpart of me is not very rational.
-
Have you tried opening a locker?
It is not an actual solution/fix for this bug in particular, but a lot of movement- and animation-related glitches disappear if you interact with lockers (works for both killers and survivors).
-
Undying/ruin/tinkerer is only common for killers with high mobility, mainly blight and hillbilly, so this kit is not THAT popular. Ruin/undying by themselves though appear in 30 to 40% of my matches (I play quite a lot recently, so the sample of matches is large enough for the numbers to be reliable).
DS is used by 80-90% of players, unbreakable - by about 30%. Second most popular perk after DS is in fact not UB - it is BT followed closely by DH.
