Surely that also means that Killers have to through 20 matches with each killer if they want to de-rank troll which is now possible because there is no barrier to de-ranking like there is with the normal rank system (which is bad, there needs to be a barrier to de-rank trolls)
All this system was ever going to do was alienate any new potential player base cutting off any new potential revenue streams for future development which hurts player retention of both new and old players due to lack of content which was never developed because of those new player revenue streams that never had a chance to begin.

Im just wondering a possible PTB date for chapter 17. Not cause I'm excited for the new killer and survivor but because I saw Cheryl is getting a new skin and I wanna see what it is
Awesome I hope Lisa gets a P3 graphic option that'd be so cool lol
-
Heres my 3 step program to Huntress mastery: Irridescent Headx 100 + tape keyboard to forehead + bash mouse with head = profit
-
I prefer hook suicide, denying the killer any descent amount of bp and potentially giving them a -1 pip or at least a black pip for being such a sweatlord. This is only in the case of 99.9% of bubbas who are all epic sweatlords. Most other killers are fine.
-
that sounds ok but her base movement speed would need to be increased or her phasing speed.

It’s the funnest part about the game for me.
The mind-games, the RNG, the uncertainty and outcomes. Those are things you remember... you don’t remember holding M1.
With that being said, I do wish some loops were more interesting. Have structures where parts of the wall are falling, or objects you can interact with during a chase, like grabbing a random axe on the wall to break through a wall and create another “way” to that room etc
I made a post a while back (before breakable walls) where windows could potentially become doorways (my idea was a possible solution to god windows) as a way to interact with the killer AND the environment, through different vaulting phases:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/W03N3Y6MUFTV/5f81ba56-c50e-4c3e-867c-cee15b527c0b.png
Basically the more you vaulted it, the more it would crumble down until it because just an open doorway.
That sounds awesome, say you vault a window once and it becomes easier for the killer to vault through, second time the vault speed is increased again, third time the window is now a door with no vaulting required.

I had a match against huntress with IRI heads and INF belt, she had PGTW, HEX:RUIN, BBQ, NOED, and ebony Mori
at first minute of match, she downed 2 of my teammates and hooked them... and then she found me
She was chasing me for 5 gens... meanwhile - her HEX was broken, all survivors was unhooked and healed. She hit me once, when 3-d gen were done, and downed me when 5 gens were done. Hooked me, and i was saved with BT... but that did't gave me much of a chance, and i died at the exit gates by MORI
After the game i got some interesting message to myself
"I'ts because of toxic rats like you - this game is trash" "Why can't you just stay down and die like [BAD WORD] you are" and stuff like that...
This huntress REALLY got mad... like... VERY mad...
Wow thats about the worst sportsmanship I have ever seen in dbd and I've been playing since 2016 lol. Feels bad man.
-
Freddy is legit pay 2 win easy-mode crutch killer (I can say this because I main him and omg. Basically tape keyboard to head + bash mouse with forehead = Profit on Freddy.
I use Whispers + STBFL + Discordance + Nurses Calling = guaranteed 3k. 4th usually escapes with key
Havent tried that other build though but sounds awful lol

Survivor - it’s a tie between Bond & No Mither. I have a soft spot for No Mither, plus I like the challenge and the unique upsides to the perk. Bond is just a universally perpetually useful perk at all times except when being the last one alive.
Killer- Coulrophobia. This is a criminally underrated perk due to how influential it is in changing survivor behaviour, and how that can be taken advantage of for stall and to catch survivors out before they’ve finished healing.
Have you tried Unnerving Presence + Distressing + Coulrophobia? (especially on Legion with Iridescent Button) I've tried it a few times and can only imagine how annoying it must be for Survivors lol. Though no ones ever commented about the build post match.
-
That's a tough one. For sheer cheese on Killer I'm gunna have to go for Save the Best For Last due to the snowball effect that builds hope early match but strips it away end game as long as I get lucky and don't hit the obsession with M1 early on.
For Survivor that's gotta be Spine Chill. It's in ALL my builds all the time always without question because it just has to be.

@Veen said:
it always did, once the totem is destroyed the perk power is no longer effective but keep "adding tokens" for some reason.
This perk is such a tease.
@Buckoben said:
Yes once it's cleansed you still build tokens, but the effect no longer persists.
Oh ok, I must be just getting lucky because after the totem is cleansed it still appears to be working because no more gens where popping. Thanks.
This is the first time I've used the perk in 4 years lol. I put it in an all hex totem build for laughs. Retribution, Lullaby, Haunted Ground and Third Seal. I would have used Ruin in that build but Survivors tend to not look for hex totems as vigorously when you just have passive hexes active.

I've had this happen several times. This can be anything from Task Manager having been open to your Antivirus and EAC don't get along to your headset had pretty flashy colours on it.
Especially if it was security violation #00000001, which seems to be the one based around having RGB hardware from what I've gathered through tech support and experimentation.
Strange, I've never had it happen to me before. I was wondering that because I got no time out ban penalty for 'disconnecting' due to eac violation that the violation was from another player and the match plus the entire game just ended as a side effect?
-
Leatherface Match = Automatic justified hook suicide 100% of the time
Seriously if your up against any pay 2 win killer you should be notified before the match starts
-
I quite like Unnerving Presence / Distressing / Discordance and Whispers. Great for disorienting Survivors who are used to a standard terror radius and for those extra special occasions Iridescent Button for Survivor confusion most of the match
-
DS drawbacks:
- DS takes up 1 perks slot and once consumed becomes useless
- Successful DS makes you the obsession if you wheren't already which in many circumstances is not a good thing for you
- If you miss a DS it is consumed and you have a wasted perk slot
- If your up against PH, DS is a wasted perk slot
- If your up against a killer that doesn't tunnel DS is a wasted perk slot.
There is that enough for you?
-
This has always been the case, people are just noticing it more now since the bubba easy-mode, hand-held, babied pay 2 win crutchlord buff patch is all because more facecamping scrublords are buying in to the Pay2winMode.exe
-
Because every Multiplayer game needs an easy-mode, hand-held, babied pay 2 win crutch option.
Oh wait, no that's just single player games. Easy-mode, hand-holding babied pay 2 win crutches in Multiplayer games just kills the game. I keep forgetting that one.
Whenever I'm on Bubba it always feels like an uber cheasy mode sweat fest.
And when playing against him I just go /Super_immersed_Blendette.exe till I'm caught then its /suicide.exe (because rewarding pay2win crutchlords with free faceroll win is lame) or /hatch.exe if I'm lucky enough to avoid the sweat for that long.

Before MMR as a green ranked Killer / Survivor I'd be matched against red ranks on an intermittent yet regular basis
After MMR as a green ranked Killer / Survivor I am matched against red ranks every single match without fail guaranteed 100% of the time
So yeah MMR has ramped up the toxicity exponentially
-
Hellshire Iron is the most situational and useless ultra rare addon in dbd right up there with Iridescent Seal of Metatron
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Regardless of how the MMR system is supposed to work, this can't happen. I just had survivors complaining that they're facing a rank 1 killer and they're still trying to figure out how to run. It's disingenuous to pretend rank/experience doesn't matter at a certain point. I can take out a lobby of 200 hour survivors without blinking as Nurse. If you've been pre-calibrating, it didn't work. And if it is working, this certainly ain't it.
Well yeah you did /cry endlessly to the devs till they came running to hold your hand for shorter wait times to be matched against brown rank new players to the detriment of the health, well being and future of your -own- game what did you expect lol. Not too bright I know but is what it is. High rank hand-holding has always been meta.

As a counterpoint, though, considering how good tools are, saying that survivors "simply don't use tools" when they could be using them is actually a useful effect. To measure the true effect of Overwhelming Presence you need to compare how much total time the survivors could have saved by using their tools when they had the chance versus how much time they actually spent doing actions because they either didn't use their tools or their tools expired early. Note also that it's a passive effect that hits potentially up to all four survivors simultaneously in your terror radius so even if the benefit is modest the cumulative penalty over all the survivors over the course of the game could be significant (e.g. four survivors each losing 5-15 seconds of time is 20-60 seconds lost which is the equivalent of 1-3 kicks from Pop Goes the Weasel passively gained.)
Mind you, I'm not saying it's a "great" perk or anything, I think it's mainly something you'd throw in with a "I Want Them To Hear Me Coming" build like Distressing/Unnerving Presence/Overwhelming Presence/Courophobia. But in that scenario it's probably decent. 😀
I suppose if Overwhelming Presence was to be used and a Survivor is trying to mend with a grey med kit normally they'd be able to heal to full with it but with 'op' loaded they wouldnt be able to do this.

@Victor_hensley said:
just change his very rare and up completely.
But yea I would like to see that happen.
I kind of line his Chalice, works really well with either extended duration or distance trails with either The Game, Lerys or Hawkins map offerings
The coin is complete arse though, change that one up lol
-
Oh wait, never mind I got my perks mixed up. Its Unnerving Presence that I use with Distressing. It's overwhelming Presence I never use because it's terrible lmao
-
Some perks by themselves arent great but together work really well. An example of Survivor perks that do this are:
Quick 'n Quiet - Make no noise while running into a vault
Dance With Me - Leave no scratch marks for 3 seconds after vaulting from run speed
Lithe - burst into sprint speed after running into a vault
Combined you make no noise while vaulting into a sprint and leave no scratch marks for 3 seconds.
I wouldnt run Overwhelming Presence alone for this reason.
-
I run Overwhelming Presence (which by itself is pretty underwhelming) But add in with Distressing regularly on Trapper, Legion, Freddy and Pyramid Head. I'd run that combo on more killers but those are the only ones I have both of them at rank 3 and they work pretty well together.
Distressing disorientates Survivors who are used to standard terror radius (which works even better on killers like Freddy who already don't have a standard terror mechanic) and Overwhelming Presence which becomes even more powerful with larger effect area. Another good perk to run with these is Coulrophobia
-
On Survivor I play which ever Survivor has my meta perks because Survivors are just skins. Basically anyone who has Spine Chill / Kindred / Alert and 1 more filler slot
On Killer I play
- Freddy (when I want to murder everyone with my hands tied behind my back)
- PH (because awesome)
- Slinger (for spear head-banging)
- Wraith (because easy-mode)
- Trapper (hes just fun)
- Bubba (to roleplay an insidious basement face camping tunneling scrublord)
-
Yeah forcing new players to go up against red ranks is just wrong. This should never happen as it is harmful to the health, well being and future of our game for reasons that are so obvious I wont even bother to underline them.
But this will never change because all the dinosours from 2016 who enjoy stomping on new players need their hand held by the devs so they can get easy matches with short queue times.
-
I was playing Billy today and I had a real hard time getting my chainsaw to fully over heat. I mean the threshold for over heating is so high you literally have to go out of your way to make it over heat.
-
Their grand plan is to drive away new players and cut off any new potential revenue streams and future funds for content development by alienating said new potential player base forcing them into matches with dinosaurs who have been playing since 2016 there by increasing wait times and driving existing players away turning dbd into even more of an empty lobby simulator than it is now.
-
If I think the killer is going to be a total face camping tunneling sweatlord that's totally fine as all they'll be getting is 1 hook suicide and a black pip at best from me and almost certainly the rest of the survivors in group so we can all get on to a match that's interesting, nuanced and unpredictable with a killer that deserves a 'good game'.
-
@Victor_hensley said:
Im having a good time, because i know ranks don't matter, which most people seem to forget that's why they keep getting rainbows.
(said every killer / survivor purposefully trolling lower ranks to the detriment of the health, well being and future of their -own- game ever)
-
Called it.
When you let high ranks into low ranked new player matches all it does is simply alienate any new player base and potential future new revenue streams which in turn cuts off funding for any new content which disincentives old players to remain and new players to bolster the lobby queue times.
Pretty soon all we have left is an empty lobby simulator with the handful of dinosaurs the devs pandered to opening the lobby to low ranks so high ranks can have short wait times and easy matches vs inexperienced players.
Not too smart. No foresight.
-
Yes please, can we ban all these poorly programmed npc's with even worse dialogue macro options who lack the intelligence to come up with witty, nuanced, sly banter post match. Cheers.
-
lawl. I totally expected this kind of krap to happen. Exactly as predicted, did not disappoint in the slightest. The new mmr system was exactly what it said it was going to be on the box. A complete failure.
-
@MrLimonka said:
Don't worry, everything is ok, nothing is wrong. After all, ranks don't matter, right?
-
Just had a match on Billy. I don't play billy and people where dropping like flies. I didnt even have to try. I felt bad so gave the last guy the hatch and he just let himself bleed out and I'm like "does this guy even know how to use a hatch?". Not too sure if this new mmr thing is going to work.
-
No change. Still hillariously borked as hell. my last 3 matches on 3 different killers:
-
Moris.
Because Keys are super situational that favour swf where Moris work without having to barely put any groundwork down.
-
Nobody uses MoM because its a krap perk. yet another example of killer maintards /crying for their hand-holding sesh from the devs.
-
Yes my randomly intermittent crashes due to low video memory welcome the return of the 'disconnect' penalty.
lol. just lol. wd behaviour
-
well to be fair you did /cry endlessly to the devs till they opened up brown ranks so that red ranks could have easy matches with short wait times. Nothing like hand holding for high ranks to the detriment of the health, well being and future of the entire game cutting off any and all potential new revenue streams alienating new players in the process. good job on that one.
-
@Rivyn said:
Not really. Prestige is a waste of BP, considering how many characters there are that you can use. It's just good for flexing.
I've heard tell in ages past that if you P1, 2 or 3 any character rare items appear in the blood web progressively more frequently. I've p3'd a few characters now and I can safely say that rare items don't feel like they appear more frequently so I'm not sure if prestiging adds any more value than just the blood stained skins.
-
well yeah I mean you've gotta have at least one pay 2 win premium killer for survivors to whinge about come on.
-
Its only useful if you have 4 hex perk loadout with Retribution and Haunted Ground otherwise its gone in a couple of seconds after you reach rank 3.
-
I get matched up against red rank survivors on every match 100% guaranteed on ALL my killers. MMR is a complete failure lol
-
Use Whispers + Stridor and you'll eventually find them.
-
Ban people for banning bans that'll solve everything.
Ban!
Edit - Fun is also banned.
-
I want to be able to hide in lockers as killer, gaining the undetectable status and triggering terror radius while hidden watching survivors come towards the locker then BAM! surprise muthafukaaa!
-
Bring a Mori, get 2 hooks with any specific survivor and their 3rd is an automatic mori. Problem solved.
-
DS should end the instant you hook a DIFFERENT Survivor because it has achieved the desired effect of you not tunneling the obsession.
Sorted.
