At least give a reason for this

You disallowed players to.switch killer in a lobby, why the f is this? Do you now want no single player want to play killers right now. I have no idea why you did this, disallowed to switch killers, but you can switch survivor ? You already kill killer's aura and now can't even switch, dumb!

  • It is because killers will get separate MMR ratings.

  • Haven't you read the notes.

It is so the new mmr can rank you with survivors of equivalent skill to the killer chosen.

So you cant put on a killer you suck with, get ez survivors then switch to one you mastered.

  • The reason for this is in the Patch Notes:

    kGV3KxH[1].png

Players have a separate MMR for each of their Killers - and as match making is done during the "search for match" phase, the killer has to be locked in at that point.

You can still change perks, add ons, offerings once in the lobby but you can't change the character.

So on the flipside, someone who gets good at any killer, can now pick a new one to roflstomp new survivors with. Great.

  • I think it's fair if a survivor can switch to another character, as long as any items and add-ons equipped prior to the trial will be unequipped. Besides that, if they switch, they just take on another characters with no special traits other than character size and breathing and grunting noise volumes.

  • My english is bad but...as I understand, the Killer lock is ON but the new MMR system is not in the game already...right? at least not on PC.

Yep, it was put there to prepare for the new system to allow a smooth rollout on the backend when ready. Otherwise the game would need an update beforehand to change this.

I'd imagine if you roflstomp new survivors, your mmr for that killer will quickly go up, so you should only be able to do that a couple times. Which is still far better than the matchmaking we have now, I'd say.

Sure, for a match or two. You already randomly stomp new survivors. And vice versa. Yesterday I was in two separate survivor groups where we were all rank 5ish and twice in one session we got matched up with rank 20 (20! Not even 19!) killers, both were very confused and upset because they were still learning.

I'd assume if the MMR system is properly developed, a small portion of your score will bleed over to your other kills, to help get you out of the "new to the game" pool. But even if not, you'll quickly leave that bracket.

Correct. But it's one less point of failure for the MMR update. Killer locking and MMR are two different things from a feature standpoint, so it's good to make sure it works before introducing a second big change with it, at least that's my understanding.

Which, atm keeps those people higher constantly? Right...

That's a lot of faith in "done properly". And why would you assume outlier low level games wont happen with the new mmr?

The random low level games now arent because killers are bad, it's because matchmaking is garbage.

But yeah, for a few games, on every killer, rotating monthly. Because people dont depip on purpose already after a few games.

  • I get matched up against red rank survivors on every match 100% guaranteed on ALL my killers. MMR is a complete failure lol

No if you pick a killer you are good with, you will get survivors of equivalent skill level.

It's not faith, it's just me stating that they could be going that direction. I don't know if they are or not. MMR doesn't reset monthly, that's already been confirmed. Although if people really want to lose on purpose so they can get a few easy wins... uhh, okay? There's no perfect system I can think of to remedy that issue.

  • This is awesome. Sweaty Spirit for red ranks and roflstomp Hag for low ranks, I already love it.
