I thought there was a drought of killers tho???
Make up your minds
.. but the number of killers isn't zero. So, if there are too many survivors and not enough killers, then survivor queue times will get faster as the number of survivors decreases. Queue times will also get faster for survivors if the number of killers increases.

You're a better person than I am. I just refuse to play on Haddonfield anymore. I'll maybe half-heartedly chase a couple survivors off the outside gens, but I won't go in the houses, and after I get one survivor injured I go afk at the gate. I might do a little more if we went to Haddonfield by RNG, but if they burned for it screw 'em. They can do their gen repair sim, and they usually earn less than the cost of the add-ons they brought. Once the gens are done, I open the gate, and then on Haddonfield I can usually get to the second gate before they're able to open it. They often really wanna open that second gate. Like dude, I was super polite and opened that other gate for you, it's rude for you to try to insist on this second gate instead.
I almost never go to open exit gates. If survivors want to sit there for two minutes wasting their time, that's fine, they have to pay attention or risk dying to the entity whereas I can completely ignore the game and watch videos on my laptop. Or I'll look for the hatch; sometimes I get to close it, or sometimes someone dies because they got cocky. The best is when I find the hatch just in time to see someone die on top of it because their teammates waited until the last second to leave. I find it funny just 'cause I had nothing to do with it, that's all on them.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that the upcoming skill-based matchmaking is based on the number of hours played, but it's not.
The developers have not told us exactly how the matchmaking is going to work because they don't want people trying to cheat the system. However, here is a link to an old (it's from July 2020) post where they try to explain how skill-based matchmaking will affect the game:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173606/news-matchmaking-update
I repeat, that is an old link. Skill-based matchmaking is disabled, there are no tests currently being run as far as we know.
-
If there are four gens remaining and two survivors still alive, the hatch hasn't spawned, yet.
You can play however you want. I usually decide whether or not to save based on whether or not the killer is camping the hook.

Seems like you're playing on a 45ince at arm length which is wasteful as the side of the screen will be outside of your vision.
The new HUD give more info and I find it cleaner but like I said it would be nice if they let us customize it.
I like the new info, I just wish the survivor icons were horizontal like they used to be. I also don't like that the survivor names poke out from the side instead of being along the bottom like they used to be.
You're not totally wrong about the distance, it's a big TV in a small room. The crazy thing is I've seen other people sit closer than I do while playing video games, and I really don't know they do that. Do they just completely ignore the sides of the screen? What is up with that?
(I've tried using that PlayStation feature to play via my laptop, but even though I'm sitting only a few feet away from the console it goes through the PlayStation servers before being transmitted to my screen, and that lag is noticeable.)

I came from PS4. I never had much of an issue with Huntress.
I envy you. I cannot get better at ranged killers on PS4. I dunno what it is. I know it's at least partially me, I'm pretty bad whenever I first pick up a shooter game, but I always manage to improve in those as I keep playing. In DbD, though, I see little if any improvement. There's something about the controls that I'm not adapting to, and I don't know what it is or why.

Bottom of the haft of the hatchet is where the hatchet will go and to the middle of the screen. There's how to aim your hatchet. You're welcome.
... o_0 It's not just about where the hatchet will go. It's about aiming with the thumbstick (which is always awkward, it doesn't matter what the sensitivity is set at) while moving. I try moving around as Huntress while keeping the tree in the center of my screen and throwing the hatchet at the right time, and... well, I can't do it consistently with an inanimate object as my target.
Trickster with his recoil has been an absolute misery.

The Huntress doesn’t like sharing her cubby..
Rather than Dwight, I now I have this great image in my head of Huntress opening up the locker, seeing Trickster's flashy knives instead of her hatchets, and then just slamming the locker to the ground.

@AVoiceOfReason said:
Crosshairs shouldn't be allowed for Range Killers. It's already annoying to go against with Gunslinger. Don't need a Huntress who can get easy hits.
Then the devs should at least add a practice mode. I'm sure survivors are tired of loading in just so they can do gens while I practice my Huntress by throwing hatchets at trees all match.

They should let us modify the HUD like we want, after all it doesn't give us any advantage. But to say that you don't notice survivor's health state? I play on an ultra wide 34inch and I don't have to move my eyes from the middle of the screen to see there is 1 or more injured survivor.
I dunno, on my 45-inch widescreen I can't read the icons along the side of the screen from my peripheral vision. I have to move my eyes to actually look at them, taking my eyes away from whatever I'm actually doing, and the vertical positioning means it takes longer to read them than when they were horizontal. When they were along the bottom, I didn't have to move my eyes to see when someone got injured or downed, it was immediately apparent without distracting me.

I prefer original to licensed because licensed is actual money only, whereas original content can be purchased with shards. And I think it's easier for them to make changes and fix problems with original content.

"The reason we don't have an in-game crosshair is along the lines of "it doesn't fit with the aesthetics," but gameplay is way more important, and on console we're just getting screwed every which way."
New hud though lmfao
uuuugh, I try not to think about that monstrosity... I hate the new HUD so much. -_- Despite having played with it for many, many hours, it is still not as quick and easy to read as the old HUD.
I apologize to any survivors who I failed to notice were injured or hooked, but those icons are no longer in my peripheral view, so, um, yeah. I can't stay on top of what's going on the way I used to be able to. It's not my fault this game isn't designed for console players.
-
That one where a survivor goes for a save and it doesn't deactivate better be a bug. That has always been my biggest problem with DS: trying to stop a hook save and getting stabbed for it. That's the thing I've wanted fixed the most, because it's the most absolutely broken thing about the perk.
If someone else heals you, DS does not deactivate. That's intended.
Does anyone know if getting healed by Adrenaline deactivates DS? If it doesn't, it really should, the survivor already got an insta-heal and gates are at least powered if not open; if the killer manages to down them again before they escape, then good on the killer, they shouldn't get stabbed for it.
-
It should be added as a function in-game. On PC, a crosshair is helpful but not really necessary, given the precision control allowed by KB+M, but it's easy to add a crosshair on PC.
Meanwhile, on console, we actually need a crosshair because the controls are much more difficult on a controller, yet we don't have a way to add a crosshair.
The reason we don't have an in-game crosshair is along the lines of "it doesn't fit with the aesthetics," but gameplay is way more important, and on console we're just getting screwed every which way.
-
I've had this happen numerous times. Now, given the number of matches I've played, it's a very small percentage, not something that's common, but it does happen. I've even had the rare 4-man stay behind and all die to the EGC while we danced around in front of the exit gates. That memory still makes me smile, they were cool people.
I've also done it for killers who played nice and didn't get any kills. I rarely care about escaping, so it's no biggie to me to show the killer some appreciation for handicapping themselves rather than going hardcore on us. (As a solo player who's not great and is usually put with teammates who are even worse, a killer who goes hardcore will have me out of the match before a gen gets done.)
-
I should uninstall the game, I know it, but I'm weak. I've put a lot of money into getting all the DLC and some outfits. The time and money already put in plus FOMO keeps me from outright quitting. So, I meme around a lot, do the challenges and achievements, and overall try not to take it too seriously. After I grind out each Rift I pretty much take a break until the next Rift goes live.
I used to hope that the devs would release a new killer that would get me super into the game again, but their recent roster of killers has proven that they don't care about the console experience at all, so I gave up hope of a new favorite killer. I really wish they had never released DbD to consoles; I'd have more respect for the game if it remained PC only.
My friend recently started playing Death Stranding, and I actually enjoy myself more watching him play a walking SIM delivering packages than I do actively participating in the average DbD match.
-
This is a bug? At this point I thought killers giving survivors friendly encouraging shoulder pats was a feature. /s
-
I played survivor a few days ago for the new tome challenges... it was going okay until a SWF used their comms to screw me over. That just soured me, and I haven't played since.
-
Those fences are in my nightmares. And the houses, ugh. I just refuse to go into the houses when I play killer, now. I won't even chase a survivor if they go in a house, I'm too out of shape for all those stairs.
I hate Haddonfield.
-
Most of the time when I'm playing killer I'm just going in as Myers and staying in tier 1 all match. I like being spooky.

It's like you get a trauma from that, lmao.
Trauma? This is a video game.
Like it's been said, Bloodwarden is highly situational. It rarely activates when a killer runs it, and when survivors die to it it's 99% of the time because the survivors screwed up.
Bloodwarden only activates to block the gates once, and the gates have to already be open. Bloodwarden at tier 3 blocks the gates for 1 minute. The EGC lasts for 2 minutes, and whenever a survivor is in the dying state or on the hook the EGC timer slows down. The killer has to hook someone well after the halfway point to guarantee trapping the remaining survivors. By the time the EGC is at or past the halfway point and no one has been hooked, you should be gone. If someone is downed and hasn't been hooked, that's a dead giveaway the killer has Bloodwarden.

No offense, I'm sure you were trying, but are you making sure to actually start holding the attack button before you get that close to them? If you're close enough to get a grab, I think you're waiting too long to actually start the lunge.
I try not to be on top of them, but a lot of gens are directly around LoS blockers, so I turn a corner and the survivor is already pretty close.
The game makes too many decisions that feel arbitrary/inconsistent from a player's point of view. Distance or some other thing taking away the grab-counter of lunging, aim dressing, not to mention the less precise controls on console. (Sorry, that's off-topic from DS, but it compounds the feeling of unfairness that went with DS when I tried to stop gen progress without proc'ing it and failed on both counts.)
Personally, right now, I'm still seeing DS the same amount in my matches. If the usage has decreased in my region, it's imperceptible. It's still strong when the killer tunnels off the hook, and it continues to be practically un-counterable during the EGC.
-
@OopsAllHexes said:

To be fair, DS didn't prevent you from getting hit by lunges and slugged to leave you unable to do anything. If you knew someone had DS and was trying this, you could lunge to down them instead of grabbing them.
DS is in a better state now, but DS no longer being meta, and no longer run in solo queue, has unfortunately opened a new can of worms.
19/20 times, when I told the game to lunge, it still grabbed the survivor, even when I'd try to angle myself so I wasn't right behind them. It was maddening. I can't tell you how many times a gen was popped in my face for that nonsense.

Can we not make this the tired survivors vs killers debate like everything else... That doesn't even make sense bc survivor times in lobbies are really bad, so if anything, they would want to motivate ppl to play killer. Which it seems they tried to do by creating a fun killer. And I'm sure trickster can be really fun, if he is balanced better.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2066645#Comment_2066645
I didn't say that laceration decay should not exist. The problem is that it happens passively. Survivors should have to heal (or smth similar) for it to happen. Not just magically lose laceration while still in chase.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2073177#Comment_2073177
Honestly, if a killer manages to 99% every survivor in the game, he probably deserves to snowball some damage. And if they made the heal for laceration smth that every survivor can do for themselves (like mending or snapping out of it) I don't see how that would even happen.
Yeah, it could at least give them a button prompt for something like "Pull out knife," with a bit of animation to it so it's not just spamming the button 7 times, so to get rid of each bit of laceration you have to pull out a knife for it. Doing it passively in a chase is BS, especially with how slow Trickster is when throwing.

It's great on Hag.
Whenever I have a challenge to hook the Obsession so many times, I put Make Your Choice, Nemesis, Furtive Chase, and Nurse's Calling on Ghost Face. I love that build.

Wow that's a bad take. I haven't seen people saying that but it's pretty amazing to be saying that right after it was finally made a proper anti-tunneling perk lol
Really? I've seen people saying that in most of the DS threads. I'm not sure exactly what they want: it seems like they want it to somehow completely stop killers from tunneling, but that's not actually possible since killers aren't AI, so if they want to go after someone they will go after them, no perk is going to change their mind if they're dead set on it. I can only guess that the "not an anti-tunneling perk" people actually want AI killers, so that when DS is equipped it becomes literally impossible for the killer to hook them twice in a row.
-
Sucks playing solo only to discover the others are SWF and you're the odd-one out. God forbid I manage to survive while others die, because they will absolutely spectate so they can tell their friend where I am. This is why it's better to just have fun as survivor rather than play to win; if I don't play to win, they can't screw me over. Because it's not fun to play 1v4 as survivor, yet that's how it so often feels.
(And no, I never hide all match. That's not fun: that's pointless.)
-
I love running a build based around Power Struggle. Most fun I've had with a perk in a long time. I don't get to pull it off very often, but when I do it's super entertaining.
The problem is that usually (usually, not always) the perks survivors consider good are second-chance perks, which are pretty strong on their own, too strong when stacked, and ridiculously strong when run by multiple survivors. It's difficult to design perks that aren't super unfair for killers when run by multiple survivors, since there are four survivors. Besides second chances, you also have some perks that counter a killer's power, and when run by all four survivors suddenly the killer is reduced to an M1 killer which... well, when I'm doing my T1 Mikey thing and all four survivors are running Spine Chill (unfortunately not as uncommon as it used to be), then it's not worth participating in the match at all.
-
April Fool's, right? Posted at 10:01 PM, your time zone is unfortunately two hours ahead of this forum's time zone.
-
The problem with solo q is other survivors. Always.
Against a camping Wraith, I made sure to time the hook save to proc BT and give the unhooked survivor a chance... they jumped into a locker (there was no obsession). If they didn't want to get saved, they could've just let go in second state, but instead they wasted my time while also making sure to take away my safe unhook.
That was just one of many annoying things that happened in solo q yesterday that had nothing to do with the killer and everything to do with my teammates. The worst are the SWF who coordinate against me on comms after they die just to be dicks.
Making DS stronger to account for bad teammates would just punish killers for players being selfish. Which, to be fair, survivor players are allowed to be selfish, that's one of the game's selling points: "Survive Together… Or Not - Survivors can either cooperate with the others or be selfish."
-
I play whichever side has the shorter queue. It probably balances out to around 50/50 in the end, but there'll be periods when it seems like I play almost all killer or all survivor.
-
... with the number of clickbait and joke titles (I know yours is a joke) on the internet, you'd think more people would bother to read the actual post. -_-
I agree, I do way better playing as him if I stick to M1 and pretty much avoid using M2. His power is good for meme'ing and nothing else.
-
If you tap the gen and the killer is running Surveillance, then the gen is going to light up and the killer is going to return. It doesn't matter how long you spent on the gen, you still proc'd Surveillance because you stopped the regression. You shouldn't be able to put up a flag saying "I'm over here progressing the game!" just so you can stun the killer when he tries to stop you.
Prioritize. The killer took extra time to kick the generator and it only regresses at a quarter of the speed. Rather than wasting your DS on that, focus on getting to a safe area and healing.
-
I got it against some thankfully potato survivors. I didn't use any add-ons or anything, because I didn't use Trickster's power. I always find it easiest to get adepts if I stick to the basic attack.
Adepts are so BS with the current pip system, since it punishes you if you do anything except play as an M1 killer.
-
It's hugely disappointing that this chapter did not get a new map. The color scheme in the lobby with the neon and stuff, it's great, it would've made for a really awesome map. They could've done a dance club or something. But nope, we got a new survivor and a meme killer, and they're never going to go back and add a new map for an old chapter, so this is it, a totally lackluster release.

So it does you are right.
They changed their mind I guess, they said originally "Don't worry, you'll still be able to heal however other actions not pertaining to evading the killer such as unhooking or healing other survivors, or doing generators cleansing totems etc will deactivate the perk" or something therein.
As far as I remember, it's always been this way since it was first announced. Players got up in arms because it was unclear when it said healing deactivates DS (players were worried someone could tap them once under the hook to start healing them and deactivate their DS), but the devs specified right away that the unhooked survivor has to perform the action; if someone else heals the unhooked survivor, the unhooked survivor does not lose DS.
That was what happened: the original perk description was unclear and it caused a bit of an uproar while the devs tried to get the word out that players had misunderstood and needn't be worried.

I'm playing purple ranks and getting tons of bp and pipping almost every trial. He injures a lot, but can't seal the deal. Lot of Altruism, 5 gens getting done, time to break totems, and killers that just chase and chase and chase. Most games he gets 3-4 hooks and we're out.
Ah, the survivors I'm playing with aren't bothering to do much of that, it seems. The highest in the last match had 13k points, and the purple rank came in last with 9k. That's with escaping. They "hold w" and I'm so slowed down while throwing knives that there's not much for chase, and I may get some knife hits but I'm just constantly throwing them like a crazy person so I usually run out before they get injured.
I'm not playing to get hooks, I'm just playing to screw around and throw knives, so my experience may differ from others. The match I had against a Trickster earlier as survivor went the same way for me, though; I saw him once all match: there were only a couple injures and no hooks.
-
@offwhiteknight said:
He's free pips and bps.
Pretty sure any survivor who's at least green rank who goes against me is de-pipping, they're getting no altruism whatsoever, and with him being slow while throwing a lot of times I don't think they get much for chase, either.

"Today has been the worst DbD experience I have had" ...so far

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2061102#Comment_2061102
It's far easier to control recoil in other FPS games on controller because of the response curve being more suited to it. DbD's response curve is too dull near the center of the stick, meaning you have to put in more effort to aim precisely (and then it suddenly jumps in the middle to outer portions of the stick's deflection). Plus, generally speaking, recoil in other games isn't nearly as random as it is with the trickster. Take Siege, for instance, where you can reliably control even Buck or Ela's recoil with enough practice because of their mostly consistent recoil patterns, despite having more recoil than most weapons. Even the SMG-12 can be controlled somewhat, at least to the point where you can make effective use of it.
The very idea of him having recoil in the first place is kinda silly though. Recoil is generally added as a skill cap to games where your opponent can fight back, so it doesn't make much sense here. There're already plenty of ways to counter his power as-is thanks to his movement speed, the sheer number of knives you need to land just to injure someone (that decay if you leave them), and his reload mechanic. Having recoil is just sadistic.
When I play other console games with long-range weapons, I'm able to learn, adapt, get better. In DbD, no matter how much time I sink into Huntress, I do not get better. DbD's controls on console are extremely punishing: it seems impossible to adjust the sensitivity so that I can have any chance at hitting a 360'ing survivor with my M1 attack while also being able to make small adjustments when aiming with a hatchet while also being able to track a sprinting, weaving survivor with a hatchet. There is no doing it. Even the hatchets' beachball-size hitboxes don't help. And now Trickster with his pinpoint aim requires 8 hits for an injury plus he has recoil? Why don't they just release two separate killers every chapter, one for console and one for PC? Or they could cancel the game on console and give us back our money. But the game's current state is frustrating as hell. A new chapter comes out and not only does console not get the optimization it needs, but it doesn't get a decently playable killer, either. Why did they bother releasing this on platforms that don't have a M+K if they won't make the necessary adjustments? The killers people love on PC like Blight and Oni and Nurse and Huntress feel like ass on console, and the devs shouldn't be okay with that.

No, it's not hostile- that's your reality and I'm cool with anyone's opinion. I've never been a fan of crossplay here simply because M+K controls are more precise giving us PC players an advantage which probably even trickles down to how fun the game can be because we're not limited like console players.
I hear what you're saying, but I was responding because the OP said he didn't know how the recoil was on PC and I gave my 2 cents. I'm not arguing that the recoil is not bad on console.
Ah, I understand. :) I'll take most any opening to point out this game's problems on console; it's pretty much always more directed at the devs than the person I'm responding to. And you're right, it does trickle down to how fun the game can be.
If they came out with cross-progression between PC and PlayStation, I'd try switching in a heartbeat. But without cross-progression, it's either play on PS4 or uninstall. I'm not starting from scratch.

No, I'm not kidding. WTH. I'm not saying most guns, I'm saying if you play FPS games, they most likely have an SMG that has recoil in it and you get used to it.
Same thing here. On PC, it's not a big issue for me. I aim with my mouse, watch for the drift, and react to it.
On PC with a mouse it's easy to adjust aim. When I've played FPS games on PC they've felt so natural. But on PS4 or any controller, aiming feels like hell. There are two options: adjust the sensitivity so that it's really low and small adjustments can be made while aiming but it really really really limits your reaction time when moving, or make it really high so that you have instant reactions when moving but trying to adjust your aim makes the camera swing wildly and your shots go all over the place.
Those are the options. It's why I am so often limited to being an M1 killer on PS4, which sucks. I even got one of those thumb stick adjustors to try to give me better aim control, and after a couple hours of using it the muscle/joint in my thumb was in pain for at least a week. It'd be really nice if this game were actually tested to be fun on console, but it's not. It runs without crashing every single time, and that seems to be enough to keep it greenlit.
(If this comes across as hostile, I apologize. I'm not being hostile towards you. I am just reeeaaally tired of feeling shafted by this game for being dumb enough to play it on console.)

... but, they seemed to add the locker stealth thing mostly to counter BBQ. When they made it so that lockers blocked auras, that was a huge nerf to BBQ while not really affecting much else. Few killers run Bitter Murmur, and otherwise in terms of auras I think that just leaves killer add-ons, because most aura reads are proc'd by specific things like a healing action or being in the dying state or hanging out in the exit gate.
As killer, I've never liked the change to lockers, it's only meant that I very rarely see auras with BBQ. I love it when I see auras, I do, but I sure as hell can't count on it.
As survivor, the locker change was great: if I put in an ounce of effort then the killer never finds me with BBQ.
BBQ would be a better perk if lockers didn't hide auras. However, I hate the "show survivor location" thing. 19 times out of 20 I cannot locate a survivor using that stupid bubble. It's at best useless and at worst wastes a bunch of my time as I search the area for someone who hasn't been there since the millisecond that thing proc'd. (Okay, the 19 times out of 20 thing might be hyperbole. Maybe. It's hard to say, I stay away from bubble notification perks because I really do find them awful. Bitter Murmur > Rancor unless I have a mori daily ritual to do.)
The one thing I do know for sure is that it's kinda silly to see BBQ repeatedly referred to as a free wall hack on these forums. It's a 4-second aura read from 40+ meters away that only happens immediately upon hooking someone. The only free wall hack I get as killer is when some survivor runs OoO against my forever-tier-1 Mikey. That's a free wall hack - I get to see them most of the match and it cost me nothing and them a perk slot - and it's amusing as hell.
-
Butler, nice. I consider it babysitting. Or playing entertainer.
That's why I do what I want. Usually that's getting a few kicks as tier 1 Myers while the survivors aren't expecting it, then putting the controller down until the next match when I get a fresh batch I can sneak up on. I enjoy being a spooky lurking Myers and maybe getting a gen grab or two, that's what entertains me these days. If they're all running Spine Chill (which has gotten more common) I barely see them if at all and usually just go into wait-mode early, which is probably boring for them, but hey, they ran a perk that counters my playstye, and I don't feel like changing my playstyle to accommodate them, so hooray for them, it worked, they got to hold M1 on gens and I got to relax and watch videos while giving my hands a break... I still feel like I won in that scenario lol.
What the game needs is fun animations like mori'ing survivors but without actually killing them and taking them out of the match. Some environmental interactivity or dismemberment, I dunno, something more interesting than swinging a weapon just to get a scream and a speed burst would be nice.

I can't track with sound at all in this game I can in other games, but not DbD. (Okay, there were a couple weeks [literally] during which I could track using sound in DbD... apparently that was a fluke, it got changed and has never returned to that state since.)
Anyway, I have sound turned off at this point when I play killer. It's not worth having it on with the way it has me backtracking and going in circles trying to find injured survivors. I either find them with blood or I don't find them at all. The rate at which scratch marks appear is inconsistent (sometimes they appear extremely late), so when I play Spirit I just... guess. Every once in a while I get lucky and land on top of them, but that's all it is, luck.
(And yes, survivors going silent without Iron Will is a bug that seems to come and go. Silent dying survivors are the freakin' worst, especially with the way they sometimes teleport when you down them. Sound is so worthless in this game.)

Its gonna be funny when killers think they see a survivor working on a gen then they get hit by DS cuz the survivor was just pretending.
But if they're not working on the gen, then it won't grab the survivor even though I told it to freakin' lunge... I just wanna slap the survivor down and stop them from furthering the objective, I'm not trying to tunnel them out. If they get hit and go down on the ground because they weren't actually working on the gen, cool, I'm leavin' them and going for someone else.
Nothin' gets me to put the controller down and go afk during a match like the controls not doing what I tell them to do. Or frame drops, if I get massive frame drops more than a couple times, the hell with it, survivors can do the gens and leave.

Hey, I know it's gross to see Kate bouncing all over the place, but the Curtain Call chapter needs its balance. Just stare at Clown and remind yourself that bouncing boobs are the price we have to pay for the glory that is Clown's stomach.

Sorry to hear that did the other 3 play it out?
Eh, no biggie, survivors disconnecting on the first down used to be so common it was just part of the DbD experience. If I remember correctly, I sort of screwed around with the remaining survivors, trying to practice aiming my hatchets (even though I never seem to get better) while they ran around in front of me. I'm sure they realized pretty quickly I couldn't hit the broad side of the barn and wasn't a threat lol.

Do people seriously DC over a good hatchet toss from huntress🤣
YES, absolutely. I suck ass as Huntress, I just cannot aim for crap with a PS4 controller, but I got a lucky shot on someone at the beginning of a match and they immediately DC'd. lol.

Did you offer the killer your item? In those situations I try to let them get the hatch at least...sorry your teammate dc'ed apology...but yeah let it out that is the healthy thing to do
I don't bring items into the game, so it's usually not an option, but I'll try to remember to do that in the future if I've grabbed something out of a chest.
Yeah, when I'm killer and someone DCs early on I try to play nice, usually. As someone who plays survivor exclusively solo, I know how much those matches suck, so as killer my heart's not in it if the game pretty much starts as a 3v1. No need to make the easily miserable experience of solo survivors worse.

I don't DC, but there are times when I seriously consider it. Those times are when the match has been stupid, there was a disconnect or two near the start, and like no gens are done and I just want out. I give myself up to the killer both for their benefit and mine, and... they slug me and look for survivor #4. That is when I have to stop myself from just leaving the match.
I know why the killer is slugging me, I get it, but I'm human and I can't help but feel slighted by the fact that I conceded and it wasn't enough for them, they need the last survivor, too. No, the killer doesn't have to play different when there are disconnects, but it still feels crappy from my POV. Hell, I'm obviously willing to die, they could at least leave me up to earn some points while they look for the last survivor.
Like I said, I don't actually disconnect in these situations, I just badly want to. After those matches I often don't play for the rest of the day/week, as either role. That's a really specific scenario and probably not what you were looking for, but I wanted to take the opportunity complain. 😝

I'm addicted to BBQ and Lightborn.
There is no goal, really. Even if I get every single character to Prestige III, I hoard items/add-ons/offerings. It's a compulsion.
