You pretty much nailed it. That's what this game's all about. Ignoring the broken stuff at top level to help out the uncarryable bottom level. And then putting them in your matches.
this is another reason that should be added into the equation too… but on that point i can't fully blame them… after all their goal is to earn money and they must incentive new players to play as survivor and give them a chance to succeed (not to mention that a new player in order to unlock stuff must play a lot of hours and must buy chapters compared to people that have already put hours into the game and already purchased the stuff that thay deemed worthy), otherwise they won't even bother to play this game. Not everyone is willingly to put thousand of hours into a game in order to learn each aspect of the gameplay. What bother me though is that the devs tried to make "competitive" a game that by his nature simply isn't (asymmetrical games cannot be balanced due to the huge number of factors that must be considered, from player's experience to perks, from killer's powers to maps, etc etc), making the whole situation even more dire…

Naah. I said it a few times already.
Fix the things that surviviors actually don't like to play against, and there will be no self-unhooking anymore, atleast not that much.
Yesterday I had a jane in my game who didnt want to go against franklin + weave for example. I was streaming, she came into my chat and said "that's boring perk combos, going next".
BHVR don't want to address that.
Awful idea... If a survivor will quit/suicide on the hook without even trying aganist certain stuff that generally speaking dislike then it's merely entitlement and/or will issue (yes, i said will instead of skill on purpose)... For your logic then the killers should be entitled to DC everytime that they see something that they dislike...

What are you considering toxic behaviour? Are you just overreacting to someone pressing control a couple of times? The vast majority of the community is just looking to have fun. I play a lot of DBD and encounter truly toxic gamers maybe once or twice a month. Of course, that number will increase if you're hard camping and tunnelling, but the majority of the time, if you're trying something fun with survivors, they'll join in.
Survivors who won't leave unless you're watching them is mildy annoying, but that's about as toxic as survivors get 99% of the time.
The only thing that is unfun 100% of the time in DBD these days are Chucky games.
I'll make a couple of examples: the first sign are the offerings that survivors/killers will put (mostly as killer... you'll find people that will literally abuse map offerings by putting the most obnoxious and annoying maps in their favor). Usually i play with non meta builds and meme addons/items (i despise being addon dependant) and when people notice It instead of chilling became even more irritating (as killer being tbagged after a stun, abuse certain loops knowing well that i can't do nothing in that zone, bodyblock with basekit bt when they are unhooked, etc etc while as survivor being slugged without being hooked, being bodyblocked by your teammates on purpose, people self suiciding on hook and staying into the game just to insult in the end chat, etc etc)... All this will lead you to stop playing chill because it's never worth the efforts, especially when people will do anything in their power to make your matches as miserable as possible...

Lots of ways to have fun in the game if you're not so focused on tying your fun to wins and losses.
Survivors are also rarely toxic unless you're camping and tunneling. If you're trying a fun build, most of the time they'll play along.
You obviously aren't having a good time with the game. Why not for something else to do with your time?
Indeed it's already 2 weeks that i avoid to play dbd, but that's not the point of the post... The point is that right now the game is actually boring to play (at least for me)... It's not about winning or losing anymore at this point, simply put the game isn't enjoyable anymore for the reasons that i stated above... Trying to playing chill won't last longer for a reason: try to play chill aganist toxic people that are present 9/10 matches, i bet that you'll surely lose your will to play chill...

Tunneling in 2v8 is ridiculous, in 1v4 there is a penalty that the rest of the survivors could leave them on hook and just do gens. However 2v8 doesn't have this built in penalty. And I've seen them run clear across the map to move the hooked survivor back and forth. "Strategy" or abusing the system designed to prevent hook/cage camping. I feel it's the latter. You are welcome to your opinion but it's a scummy tactic like taking a knee in football to run out the clock or hitting someone with the ball so it goes out of bounds against the opposing team. It's just unsportsman like.
Again is It aganist the rules? No. Is It pleasant to go aganist? Decisely No. Can be defined toxic? No since it's literally the killer's goal to kill survivors (it's like literally calling survivors toxic for doing generators... It's dumb since gens are their main goal).
Regarding the 8vs2 mode consider It an alpha version of what It could be in the future... Don't forget that devs are actually TESTING this mode in the live version of the game (we can't consider It a full developed mode for many obvious reasons)

Woah you tried it one time? Truly incredible. I guess everybody complaining about it is wrong because you played one game with Clown.
What's the problem with clown? He's good enough if used right with his best addons... I'll say again: this combo is nothing special, easily counterable and will waste half of your perks available... At this point i'll just use the Classic slowdown builds... Even if those perks were heavily nerfed, they are still better than this combo hands down...
-
a killer interested in a 4k won't bother it… doesn't matter if by hook or bleeding, for them it's sufficient to see you dead since this is their primary goal… As for me i slug for the 4k only in those cases:
1 i need to do adept (blame bhvr for this)
2 tome challenge that require a 4k in a match (blame bhvr again)
3 if survivors start to be annoying/toxic to no end (they bring map offerings, broken addons for medkits/toolboxes, use the basekit mechanics offensively aganist me in order to waste my time despite going for other people, using ds offensively especially when they are currently doing secondary things like pinhead's box, etc etc) be sure that i'll gladly waste my time to get a 4k at all costs just to teach them a lesson (to quote chucky: don’t ######### with the chuck!)

When you tunnel/camp/slug or tbag spam/flashlight click spam back they rage massively in endgame chat? Do you think it's deserved? Do you think they're in the right or wrong? Do you feel you're in the right or wrong? Just curious how the community feels about this.
Example 1: Person tbags after every pallet and vault. If you try to leave them they run after you and spam flashlight clicks. They make a bad play and you down them then tunnel them out. They rage at how toxic you are in the endgame chat to tunnel them out and how bad of a player you are.\
Example 2: You get downed as a survivor. The killer walks back and forth behind your downed body. Then they pick you up and hook you then hit you on hook a few times. When they unhook you they attempt to tunnel you and you outplay them at each vault/pallet and you tbag them for their earlier BM.
I've a couple of personal rules... First of all i'll start to play mean (tunnel and camp) if survivors won't leave me no choices in that matter (generators fly, abuse of 2nd chance perks in order to waste my time, finishing generators while i'm next to them, etc etc)… i'll start to be toxic (nodding) if you bring map offerings and toolboxes with bnp or medkits with styptic agent/anti hemorrage syringe (at this point you are playing to make my game more miserabile as possible so don't act surprised if i'll play accordingly to this)... Special treatment for people that are toxic for no reason from the beginning and use all the stuff that i mentioned before (i'll let them bleed on the ground/hit on the hook and i'll enjoy their salt in the end game chat)

I noticed that it is a trend to "roast" on the other player such as teabagging, pointing and such. But meanwhile provocation like a t-bag is to get the "heat" as a strategy, is other things unsporstman?
Like hitting people on hook, slugging and "fking" (the back and forth) until the last second, just to hook and extend as long as possible the roasting?
Im curious because this started a discussion on the FB group, with some people saying its bannable, or not bannable, or depends. I do not see anything bad with nodding and roasting a bit tbf
It isn't and honestly i'm surprised that people could get angry for just moving back and forth... I personally consider a lot more irritating things like tbagging, pointing and purposely bleeding survivors on the ground when you have hooks at your disposal (unless you want to slug for chasing the last survivor or you are trying to pressure survivors, forcing them to leave the gen in order to pick up their companions... in that case it's more than understandable)

Applying your logic:
If the survs are willingly doing so probably it's because killers are particularly toxic (rarely do i get people respectful in my lobbies. Most of the killers greet you just after getting unhooked or hump you and virtually violate you for several minutes straight until you bleed out. Most of the killers do the former because it's so easy to know where cages spawn and the latter once it's down to three survs because they know its impossible for survs to complete the gens and they can scour the entire map to find them. Some even trashtalk in the endchat just for the sake of being toxic) or simply put tunnel and ignore pushing survs off gens (in that case it's fair to apply the concept "you tunnel survivors so I tunnel generators")
Like the hell? Even if that logic were true on either side it neither justifies nor excuses being toxic. (plus, I think you just equated survivors doing gens at all - since they cant really gen rush in this mode since they cant bring the tools - with tunneling? if guides had a basekit bnp and spawned in with a commodious tb....maybe. but that isnt the case.)
Fist of all tunneling isn't toxic, people should put this in their minds once and for all (like survivors sticked on generators), you like It or not this is the truth (irritating? Probably. But still a strategy nevertheless) and secondly this concept can be used even as survivor: if i see a killer that is tunneling someone be sure that i'll stick to generators because it means that the killer is actually trying to win rather than playing for fun. So i'll change my gameplay accordingly. As you said It goes both ways... In any case you should witness all the BS that i've aganist as killer then perhaps you'll see why i said those things... Regarding the 2vs8 mode survivors can genrush even here if they want (tbh it's even easier if they aren't potatoes) due to having tons of pallets at disposal and the map being bigger make all more easy…

Survivors have one perk to help them counter the tons of aura reading perks/full aura builds of killers and now it’s getting screwed with because of complaints that their aura builds get countered?
This is laughable.
Actually this perk is too much strong because It can literally deny whole aura reading builds... To make an example it's like when you have a specific build for healing you/the others but you are aganist a plague (probably the reason while she will get changes)... Is this fair to you that your entire build was completely countered by a single thing? (In that case was the killer's power, but you get the idea)

I play Freddy and I am pretty good at it
Its all about skill issue
Remember, a perkless trapper can destroy a full 4-men SWF
Ok now i know for sure that you probably are in the low mmr... THERE'S NO WAY that Freddy can win aganist decent swf groups, he's too much weak and his power (Blood pools) can't be used in chases since his MS will drastically decrease when you place your traps, allowing the chased survivor to run to another tile (same problem that dredge has right now), not to mention that you can't even play him like a hag/trapper: even if you place carefully your traps in a specific zone of the map survivors can disable your power easily by walking on the pools while they aren't in chase and/or by waking up

A pity that trapper isn't in the list... He needs more buffs, especially after playing the 2vs8 (in 1vs4 he feels miserable now)... Underwhelming (slow to place traps) and he can bring only 2 traps (3 with a GREEN addon)... He should have his purple addon (trapper sack) buffed by allowing him to pick up his traps once settled on the ground.

@Shroompy said:
are we looking at the same patch??
The majoriry of perk buffs for are all meme perks and allow for more shenanigans, and the 3 killers that got looked at received some very note worthy buffs.
More than buffs i would say more QoL changes… all the things that they changed (almost all of them) were already present when you took some addons… now they simply added basekit part of those addons that are needed to be somewhat viable, but they nerfed/changed the addons in exchange… the only exception is when dredge and doc use their powers (they increased their ms while using the power, which was more than needed). Survivors got various perks buffed (most of those perks were already annoying to face as killer i might add, now they will be even more tedious to go aganist) and they even increase hook timer with a stupid excuse (since they have "increased" the time to do generators, it was fair for them adjusting the hook timer accordingly… a pity that in the meantime they literally destroyed all the anti gen perks). Literally if was for me i would rather go back in 2019…

What else are survivors supposed to do? They only have one objective to get out and that's gens? "Gen rush so ill be toxic as a response?" Are you serious? HOW DARE SURVIVORS DO THE ONLY OBJECTIVE THEY HAVE!!! Like… bruh…
first of all tunneling isn't toxic, you can call it extremely unfun, but toxicity lies elsewhere (letting people bleeding on the ground despite hooks are available, hitting on the hook, keep walking on a dying survivor, etc etc)… it's a strategy and quite effective and secondly are you currently blaming the killer for doing their objective as well? please, at least be honest without having double standards… i'm not a guy that tunnel (i don't like it since i know how it feels when you are constantly chased without a break), but if i see people that actually play to win (aka play optimally: taking hits with basekit bt in order to protect their savior, sabotage my hooks when i'm trying to hook someone, don't fear of the killer and keep doing generators under your nose despite being really close to them) or are mean (tbags) i will adapt my gameplay as well because you are giving me no choices but to play in that way if i want to do at least some points

maybe you just had bad luck… happen more than you can think you know? besides, if the killers are willingly doing so probably it's because survivors are particularly toxic (rarely i get people respectful in my lobbies. most of the survivors tbag knowing that you can't catch them if the other killer isn't around due to the HUGE quantity of pallets present in the map… some even trashtalk in the endchat just for the sake of being toxic) or simply put rush gens, even under your nose (in that case it's fair to apply the concept "you tunnel generators so i tunnel survivors")

So far most posts I've been seeing are complaints of such so post here your best favorite moment you've had in 2v8 so far since it can be quite chaotic. I'll start.
As survivor on one of those small hills with a chest there's an injured Feng Mie close by to my left I wanted to open the chest for the goodies the moment my character kneels down to start opening the chest a hatchet from my right comes flying over my head and hits Feng Mei in the face and downs her. Wasn't aware of the Huntress was there taking aim at me probably the first time I've ever had a good laugh while playing this game.
i was playing killer with a friend of mine (i was a trapper and he was playing as hillbilly). All generators done and still 4 people alive: first one killed 10 seconds after the last gen popped thanks to a trap placed in a place where there was no pallets and windows (sometimes i place traps where survivors will probably run from a tile to another), the other 3 were going toward the exit gates… i got another one with the bear traps but he was still alive, in thre meantime my friend was checking the gates… one of the gates was near my position and i saw that was putted at 99% (a classic when survivors try to save someone before escaping) so i putted a trap here (since that survivor was probably doing the save in that moment since i didn't found her here, i guessed that she was still near my position, more or less…) just to eventually slow them down (hopes were low cause once fully healed nothing could stop them from disarming the trap and opening the gates instantly). While my friend was getting near my position (he was chasing the 3rd guy in the shack) i spotted the other two (both healthy obviously), i hit one of them that get the speed boost and ran toward the shack (problem is that my friend was here as well trying to catch the 3rd survivor so you can imagine what happened to her) while the survivor that did the save and putted at 99% the gate was running directly toward the switch… 2 seconds later i heard a satisfying shout… sended both survivors in the cages. The last one was extremely close to get the hatch but i coordinate my attack with my friend while he was sprinting with the chainsaw, oneshotting her before reaching the hatch… from a 4/8 to a 8/8 all in the endgame thanks to clever trap placement, couldn't be more satisfied😁

Apparently, the difficulty ratings are supposed to mean how easy it is for a newer player to use the power and actually do stuff with it.
Okay, fair enough. Hag's power is extremely easy to use, but difficult to use well and get fruitful results from.
Well, Trapper's power is similarly easy to use (what's so hard about setting a bear trap), but extremely difficult to get fruitful results because unlike Hag's traps (which have broken shackles to suppress the effects) everyone knows when someone's trapped in a trap as the icon shows up in the UI.
With this in mind, why is Trapper rated Easy? Shouldn't he be rated Very Hard as his power is also difficult to use well enough as to get kills?
If not Very Hard, at least Hard?
Or is this a remnant from the past when Trapper was much better and easier to get kills with, and the devs just never re-assesed the difficulty?
For a simple reason imo: trapper is a 4.6 while hag is 4.4.
Trapper can be less dependant in chases from his bear traps (you can still get hits from bad positioning), hag can't chase without her power (technically you can, but you'll waste too much time and you'll throw the game by doing so)

Cages spawns are predictable if you pay attention, basically the opposite side of the map to where you were downed near other survivors. The aura reading is far too strong period. I would love to hear an argument saying it isn't.
I disagree regarding aura reading being too strong (only with nurse perhaps, but with the other killers it's perfectly fine)... But if was for me instead of aura reading i would have added automatic gen regression (a smaller ruin basekit essecially). As for tunneling people well, i still think that's merely a coincidence: between my matches both as killer and survivor i didn't saw tunneling gameplay once (happened that the same guy was catched for 2 times in a row, but It was always cause of bad positioning, bad luck or both those things...). Don't get me wrong, maybe you had the unluck of being matched aganist tryharders, but this is my personal experience until now

If you're the first one to get downed, you will be the first one to die. As soon as I get unhooked, and they start healing a gen gets popped, auras revealed of the people healing me and boom a hatchet, a huntress or a billy just appear. It has happened 4 out of the last 5 games I've played. People saying "tunneling" isn't happening is delusional. There are 8 people running around buuut the person fresh off hook is a much easier target. No one tryharding to chase a healthy survivor. Killers in this mode love taking the easy kills.
in that case it was your fault for not hiding in a better place with objects that could protect you from the hatchets (especially considering that aura reading is a thing in this mode)… the killers in this case aren't tunneling since they were busy to do something else… not to mention that if the killers are patrolling the map and they found the same survivor multiple times it's a dumb play to ignore said survivor… you just got bad luck, happen. i'll tell you an anedocte: yesterday i was playing with a friend of mine as killers (i was a trapper while he was using billy), while he was patrolling a zone of the map he found a survivor that i previously put in the cage… was this tunneling? decisely no since we were focused on chasing survivors and defending a specific zone of the map (the remaining generators to defend were all placed in a single part of the map with the exception of a single gen that was to the other side of the map and since the billy is the only killer that could travel fast enough to check it, he went in that direction and found that guy again… generally speaking that guy was just unlucky…).
it's literally impossible to tunnel people in this mode since the cages don't have noise notification unlike hooks

Not afraid to admit it. The game should have always been balanced around hooking survivors instead of kills. There's no shortage of killers who will tunnel one survivor out and have an easy win because there's no real catch up mechanics in the game.
By punishing scummy behavior where the killer just decides, no this one survivor can't play the game or have fun. You make the game drastically more balanced and fun for survivors. And the best part is that killers who are actually good at the game and don't need to tunnel won't notice any difference.Absolutely no. Survivors have already a lot of stuff to counter tunneling... Not to mention that killers should have a similar mechanic if survivors do generators too much efficiently if something like that should ever be added...

It's probably because Myers will often bring Tombstone piece add-on, which is by far the most busted add-on in the game. Since the devs refuse to nerf it, people have to resort to giving up immediately instead.
Nah, simply put people are entitled... The last match that i did with myers i was using the scratched mirror addon at the game... I was so slow that people could easily outrun me in a straight line, yet 2 of them off themselves on the hook... Probably cause they found Myers unfun to face with that addon (entitlement)
-
simple: because the devs don't really care about their game to put it lightly… it's sufficient to see all the bugs that they reintroduce with the last update, not to mention the GAMEBREAKING bug regarding the generators… a normal company would have released the fix in the same day, but in this case they aren't willingly to do something about it (and no, the excuse of being a small company was acceptable in the 2016, today they have the tools to deal with those problems…).
About the changes that no one asked i can do other examples for that matter… No one complained about Wesker, BUT they changed some numbers about his power: hooking a survivor will reset their infection and when fully infected their movement speed penalty was decreased (from 8% to 4%), when they nerfed the pig or when they reworked billy for the first time (adding the AWFUL heat mechanic)
-
@Rawrbot5k said:
The second I get hit with franklin's it's a big hit to the morale. I don't even run. I get hit, drop my item and stop moving. Try to 4% then let the entity take me. BUT hey part of the game right, the reason survivor queues are so long. Solo queue survivors are losing reasons to keep playing this game.
I propose a deal then… killers won't have that combo anymore, but in exchange survivors can't stack more than 1 second chance perk (only one between dh, Ds, otr, adrenaline, unbrekable, etc etc) and they strongest addons for medkits/toolboxes reworked (they will be the same on paper, but in exchange they will give you also negative effects, like the ones that killers have... An example Is engineer's fang for pinhead: you can directly remove the healthy state from survivors with the chains, but your Gates will open 50% slower and only 2 additional chains will spawn)... First, to be honest I'd rather players who rely on tunneling, slugging, and camping left the game. That's not the negative you think it is - this game is way more fun when everyone is playing fairly.
Second, Killers already have more than one way to make life difficult for the survivors - perks that block gens, perks that block pallets and windows, a perk that blocks the exit gate, etc. Survivors have nothing like that. Killers are already insanely strong, with some killers not even needing perks to 4K a lobby. And what do the survivors have? Nothing. All survivors can do is work on gens together, or waste a butt-load amount of time to make progress go faster. And if the killer decides to tunnel? Nothing the survivor can do about it. The killer decides to camp? Nothing the person on hook can do about it. The killer decides to slug? Apart from doing drive-by heals on the downed players, not much the survivors can do.
Having anything that makes killers play fairly would go a long way in fixing the multitude of problems the game has. And to answer the "Incentivize killers to play any other way," how about this: Be a bad player, get punished. None of the killers have to rely on these strats, only bad players.
if you really think those things then i've no doubts on this: you are going aganist bad players… i lost the count of the times that despite my chases lasted less than 30 seconds, gens pop everywhere and no matter the gen perks that you are using: you can't stop them because they are literally too much fast to even use them… and you know what is constantly working (most of the times) when those matches happens? endgame builds and using the greedyness/altruism that survivors have aganist them… btw the perks that killer have are all trash (they were a lot more viable in the beginning, when the nerfhammer wasn't applied on them), especially compared to the ones that survivors have. AGAIN you are assuming that killer that tunnel are bad players when actually tunneling the weakest survivor is the best strategy that a killer can do, you like it or not this is the truth… think about it, every survivor can press m1 on a gen (so more or less everyone has the same efficiency regarding gen repairs) and repair them, but not all of them can loop… the best way to apply pressure on the survivors is to actually get the first kill as soon as possible, and this is a fact… just because you despise tunneling (and RIGHTFULLY i might add), doesn't mean that the killer that tunnel isn't skilled… quite the contrary, he/she's applying the best strategy that killers can do in order to keep up the pace with the survivors.
i'll say once again in short words: it's fair to disincentive those kind of gameplays, but you need to make the other strategy viable or even stronger than tunneling if you want to get rid of tunneling and camping… you can't pretend to get a better game if you give only punishment without nothing in return, you are only alienating the killer playerbase doing so…

Bad behavior should be punished, not rewarded. There 100% needs to be an anti-tunneling mechanic, but rewarding the survivors for someone leaving after they die just isn't it.
To fix tunneling, the best way, aside from making it reportable, would be increasing the survivor's shield when they're unhooked. Instead of it lasting for 10 seconds and disappearing after the first hit, they can either make it last longer or make it to where you need more hits to break it. I'm certain there's other fixes, but that's all I got right now.
By your logic then people that abuse anti tunnel perks and bodyblock with bt in order to deny a new chase with the survivor who did the save should be punished too... Same for people that tunnel generators... Again all of you keep thinking new ways of punishing the killer without giving valid alternative options... This is the things that honestly piss me off more about the people in this forum... I get it, being tunneled out of the game early isn't fun, but you can't pretend that the killer won't do It unless you'll give and incentive to play in another way... If you keep punishing players for how they will play, sooner or later you won't have players left...

4-5 hooks at 5 generators, i hate giving up but at that point why even bother playing, eventually the killer will get two kills and now its just a game of hide and seek, praying the killer gets bored and dc’s.
And on the other end is when there will be 2 hooks at 1 generator left, there literally feels like you cant win and just secure a 1k by the most boring means possible.
Why is the game so inbalanced? I feel like theres never games where endgame is actually a threat, or having insane pressure on you at 1 generator, or two;Its always hopeless or a utterly boring win
One simple word: SWF
thanks to this feature the game is impossible to balance properly... No matter what, a swf will be ALWAYS stronger than solo survivors.

This needs a nerf it’s way too easy to use and it’s oppressive on certain killers and it also has no counterplay. Even if you pick up the item the aura is still revealed if they’re using Lethal Pursuer. Since, y’all changed Superior Anatomy to not work with lethal pursuer why is weave of attunment working when it has almost the same function just activated differently. That needs to be changed and I think the perk needs a complete rework because I shouldn’t be able to drop a item at will and get revealed by the perk nor should I get oblivious when I pick my item up. So it’s either the oblivious status effect has to go and lethal purser shouldn’t extend the aura or this perk needs a complete rework.
the perk is fine, can be countered easily by dropping your items in the corners of the map, not to mention that you can see it instantly if the killer is using it if you drop your item at the start of the game… i tried it with franklyn's demise yesterday and honestly those were 2 wasted perks…

framerate dropped when i had to hook Yui with the new skin (not to mention that the tail will block half of your view. put those things together and your travel to the hook will be miserable… bonus points with boil over)

How did you completely misinterpret what I said? Don't put words in my mouth that I never spoke, properly read my message if you wanna criticize me.
First of all most Killers win most of their matches. Why? Simply because there is no proper MMR. Back when MMR was first released it was incredibly strict causing everybody to complain that all their matches were sweaty. BHVR listens and over the course of a few years, they made it infinitely more forgiving to the point where high MMR doesn't even really exist, it's just very low, low, middle, and then everybody is grouped together past that. This makes it so that someone with 700 hours can go up against someone with 8000 hours, causing a large disparity in skill. Combine this with the fact that solo queue gathers 4 random people and that results in the chances for a competent team to actually be formed incredibly rare. And it's because of that most Killers win most of their matches. It's mostly skill obviously on the Killer's part, but the fact that there may be one, two, or even three bad players gives them a huge advantage. My point is that just because I win most of my matches doesn't really mean anything. If the game is unfairly giving me an advantage by making one or two of the survivors bad then I just don't like to count those matches because I was always going to win them, they're just filler. Imagine if you were playing any other game and you knew that for the next 8 matches you were going to go up against a team that was way worse than you, and then only afterward would there maybe be a chance you'd go up against a group of people who were on your level, if not higher.
What I'm complaining about is if 4 competent survivors are grouped together and all 4 of them understand gen efficiency (Understanding when to heal, when to focus gens, etc) and they get just a half-decent map then it becomes incredibly difficult to win depending on what Killer your playing. Should I have just not queued up as the Dredge at all knowing that I'd go against 4 good survivors on disturbed ward? Maybe it was a Skill issue on my part, but it's not an uncommon sight nowadays to see even good Killer players struggle against a competent team of survivors who know what to do with gens.
All I'm asking for is an equal footing against people at my level. Like I clearly stated, sure, if I'm playing Hillbilly, Blight, or anybody that's very strong I have no issues, hell sometimes I even enjoy the sweaty games, but if I'm playing a weaker Killer or not bringing a full meta loadout then I just lose if I get a map that's even slightly favored towards survivors? I just get to go on a few chases before the games already over in 6 minutes? It's the equivalent of landing in a battle royale, having no items in your area, then being sprayed down less than a minute later by a fully kitted-out squad before you've had the chance to even do anything.
you know, i did a thread exactly on those problems… and since the only way to keep up the pace with those type of survivors is playing "dirty" (aka proxycamping and tunneling), in the next patch even this strategy will be scrapped away due to babysitter buff… and again they are PUNISHING killer for doing those things without giving them a real alternative to keep up the pace with the survivors (aka actually REWARDING killers for mixed hooks). Imo the devs failed once again to understand WHY those tactics are so popular…

I'm not one to usually complain about this problem, but now that basically every viable gen regression perk has been nuked from orbit what can I do against really gen efficent teams? I've noticed how fast the gens are flying in my games with some Killers, so what am I missing? Even if the teams I go against are mediocre in chase all they have to do is hold W and go to a few tiles and that's enough to put me in a losing position which feels incredibly awful to go against.
Obviously, if I'm playing a Killer I main like Blight, Hillbilly, Twins, or Oni then sure, I'll have good games because they either have extremely good map pressure and chase (Blight, Billy) or force survivors to focus on healing (Twins, Oni) but otherwise, if I'm playing Dredge, Trickster, or even Wesker what am I suppose to do? Is there some super secret meta build I'm missing that'll make gens not constantly fly off the handles? Am I supposed to never get a bad map that'll cause me to lose? Am I not allowed to make even a single mistake in game?
I have 3000 hours in the game yet this really does feel like the first time playing anybody B-tier and below feels completely awful and meta is mandatory to make a game last more than 6 minutes. It's beyond crazy, I don't wanna constantly stick to meta but what else am I supposed to do?
that's the neat part, in those cases there's almost nothing you can do (you must rely on their greedyness and altruism in order to get hooks and kills)… you can still make them pay for rushing gens with noed tho (in all my matches done until now NO ONE tried to do a single totem because gens take priority over everything else… even healing since resilience exist and thanks to adrenaline this is a minor issue for them. Noed will make up for this)… best advice when you find those players is to proxicamp and tunnel… the first one will be dead once the gens are over probably (worst case scenario when the survivor will use every possible 2nd chance by using in that order pallets, styptic agent/anti hemorrage syringe, dead hard, otr, ds, dh again, adrenaline and being helped by his teammates through bodyblocking) and the second one will die due to noed (even in the case that they will destroy noed they will be only 2 survivors that can try to do the save, so one of them will likely take the place of the previous hooked survivor)… with a bit of luck if they don't have unbrekable you can even get a 4k by slugging, especially if you take no way out alongside noed)
in short words you must play unfunny in order to get ######### done aganist those teams and play mostly in the endgame (so if you force the use of god pallets while gens are still up it's still a good thing because in the endgame they won't have safe spots to use aganist you), also because otr and ds are disabled in the endgame, so they can't use them offensively aganist you (i lost the count of the people that bodyblock me with otr instead of running away from me because they want waste my time with those ######### perks despite i'm trying to play fair…)

I main Twins and almost every game is an easy 4k (I blind them with Third Seal and slug all 4). The devs should understand that games are fun when they're challenging. some killers may have complained before 6.1 about any kind of survivor counterplay but listening to the loudest complainers is not a way to run your game. I would be happy if they introduced another game mode with stronger survivors for killers who want the game to be challenging again (for example shorter gen times in this hard mode).
do you want a challenge? play freddy then…

I've finally started to play The Unknown. I've spent some bloodpoint and used a build I'm using on another killer.
I expected to get my backside kicked while I'm learning its powers.
My first match went better than expected as I had no idea what his powers were: a 4K with decently prestiged players.
Naturally, after a win, the next lobby had to be stronger …

And yet …

I'm expecting a stronger lobby and I get four flashlights … sounds like trouble.

Or not …

Naturally the next team has stronger players and after one look at the p100, I feel like crying …

… but it went pretty fine.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/U2L6K6RFLG4D/image.png
How is that possible? I barely understand the killer …
Is it a "S" killer or have I been incredibly lucky?
2nd one decisely, this killer is awfully bad aganist good survivors (those survivors were bad players probably)

I think it's your play style that makes it boring. For example you say kicking gens is a joke and a waste of time... I use nowhere to hide to see hidden survivors near the gen or what direction they ran to. Handy if your Myers, can see them hiding then just insta kill them. There are other perks that makes kicking gens worthwhile too. I do agree that it's boring going in circles chasing a looper but that's due to survivors ignoring the other objectives in the game that gives points.
From a survivor point of view, doing gens, doing totems, evading the killer gives points. if your only thinking "do gens, escape" then yes it can be boring. You also admit to not playing the game as intended by getting 2 hooks then letting them go, I would be bored doing that and playing against a killer like that because that's not what a match should be. Maybe instead of thinking of the goal being "kill survivors" or "escape as survivor" you could look at the points as a goal, try get as many points as possible by changing your play style? Or play a game better suited to you?
you know, it's impossible to use other type of playstyles when survivors actually do gen and play safe and killers actually want to win at all costs… if the survivors start rushing generators the killer will start tunneling and camping because changing target sometimes isn't even a solution/option since the map is full of resources (pallets and windows) and the only way to kill someone is focusing on the weakest survivor in the team regarding looping, same thing when the killer start tunneling and camping from the start, the only way to get away is to do generators as fast as possible, so he isn't wrong regarding that the gameplay must be modified since the best strategies to win aren't exactly funny…
