That's not true, there is only one room accessible by Killer only and stuff like alarm clocks or pig's machines can't spawn there.
The map sucks for sure, but it doesn't have that problem.

Change Hook Mashing
Fix the bugs
Better servers
Fix the bugs
Better matchmaking system
Fix the bugs
Better bloodweb system so it's less grindy
Fix the bugs
Massive Perk changes so that 90% of them aren't useless
Fix the bugs
And finally, fix the bugs

They didn't really listen to us though. The vast VAST majority of voices were calling for no changes to Billy, including all the most influential big streamers. They didn't revert the changes, they backed off on them very slightly. It's better than nothing, but it's still probably gonna be bad.
The problem is noone on the balance team is a good player and they don't listen to the fog whisperers so they have no perspective from above rank 16 on balance.
-
The point is, the devs are extremely bad at their jobs and it's almost entirely worthless. It gives tiny value to Bloodhound, a bad perk, and makes it slightly easier to track with. But it's straight awful, like most of the design decisions.
-
Man I love boot lickers that will just suck the scum right off the bottom of the devs shoes like they're being paid to or something. The change to chainsaw is bad and noone asked for it. The tweaks here are helpful, but still trash. And the new add-ons are AWFUL because in addition to nerfing the good ones they kept, they created a bunch of new ones that absolutely suck. I couldn't come up with a worse add-on than Mother's and still make it seem like it's trying to be helpful if I tried.
I guarantee if there was even any competition in this genre that wasn't straight trash then DBD would be hemorrhaging players.
-
Well I would assume they'd like add-ons that actually do something instead of something like, I dunno gaining 0.2 m/s while a flashlight is shining on you... That add-on will literally never be useful in any situation ever.
I can't even believe they came up with such an add-on, let alone implemented it. When has someone EVER shined a flashlight on a killer while they're able to move instead of while in the middle of a pallet breaking animation?
That's just the worst example, other bad/worthless add-ons include: Black Grease, Off-Brand motor oil, Big Buckle, Lopro Chains, Iridescent Brick, and imo at least Tuned Carburetor. All those add-ons suck, at least the others slightly help, but those either actively hurt or just do nothing, in addition to Mother's Helpers as described earlier.
-
I knew they wouldn't revert changes, time to see if these tweaks are as impactful as they make it seem to be. Since they had no video attached of the changes, the only way to know this time is to actually see them in action the PTB.
I'll be honest, I'm still doubtful. BHVR has a very bad track record in regards to balance (I see that amazing 0.2 m/s gain while a flashlight is shining on you add-on still exists...)
-
"What's that? Push out another new killer and survivor package with 5-6 bad perks and questionable strength on the killer's power? Can do!" -- the devs.
-
By itself it's mostly fine, but it's not by itself so it's too strong. It needs to deactivate in lockers, and the combo with unbreakable is literally a free no skill health state that you can't do anything about.
-
Honestly 2-4. Somewhat depends on quality of teammates if I hit rank 1 and sit there or not, but it's hard to not be at least rank 2.
-
Sad to say I don't think I can say I'm a nurse main anymore. I haven't played her in a while because I just couldn't deal with the bugs for another day. But I generally ran Whispers, BBQ, Sloppy, Ruin or Corrupt. I love her black funeral garment, it looks fancy. Wish they'd fix nurse's bugs, but I won't hold my breath. At least Spirit is pretty fun to play imo.
-
Honestly probably just to see if there's something in the changes that cause a major game crash or unexpected broken interaction. They won't listen to balance feedback, but they're likely to listen if for example using Bubba's new power on a certain map caused the game to freeze or something.

I know the survivor quality you get varies, I can get the sweatiest most anti-fun OoO swf groups that legend speaks of or a group of poor noobs, all of which are in red ranks and I get only red ranks whether I'm currently red, purple or green myself, apart from the occasional case where some poor literal rank 20 survivor ends up in my game. I'm just disputing that you need to be of a certain rank to have balance opinions considering how rank works.
You do need a certain time invested to have legitimate balance opinions though. Let's put it in terms of a different genre, like fighting games. A casual, newer player might tell you Hadouken spam is overpowered because they don't know how to get past it so Ryu is the best character in Street Fighter, but good players will have no issue with it and will tell you Ryu is low tier. The reason you don't listen to the casual players on balance is because they don't know what they're talking about.
Again, I think his opinion is totally invalid because he says he NEVER has a difficult game as killer. In a game where a person who plays killer consistently will face 1 SWF hit squad that not even the best players in the game can beat he's never had a difficult game? He's never seen a 4 man swf running OoO before? That's only possible if he doesn't play much killer. Even if he is low rank, according to the number of matchmaking posts I've seen of 4 rank 1's vs a rank 15 killer, he should have been destroyed by a 4 man swf at least once if he has more than a handful of killer games.
This is the guy saying Ryu is op because hadouken spam is too strong. He doesn't actually know what he's talking about and any high level player will dispute it if they're being honest.
-
I would infinitely prefer they skip a couple content updates and just fix all the actual problems with the game. Fix bugs. Fix their garbage perks so 90% aren't worthless. Fix add-ons. Fix the maps. Fix the matchmaking. Fix the emblem system so there aren't as many boosted players at red ranks. Fix overall balance. For the love of god fix Nurse.
Screw new content, fix the content we have now. The game would feel infinitely fresher if you saw more than 1 build on survivors with 1 or 2 interchangeable perks every single game.
-
Oh boy, a SC2 reference. I used to play SC2 at low GM level and I can tell you the reason that people left the game wasn't due to it balancing around high levels of play, it was due to several factors. For players of BW who left, they left because the game was too casual SC2 compared to BW has much less importance of mechanical skill. It's a lot easier to micro, macro, and the skill ceiling is lower due to that. This turned off a lot of BW players including many pros.
For casual players who left, they were never going to stay. It's harsh to say, but they 100% would not stay in a competitive environment. They didn't want a competitive game where they seek to improve themselves and their play and get better. They wanted the ability to throw the game on once a week and do well, but that's not the kind of game an RTS is. No RTS is like that in the world, SC2 just has Blizzard's name behind it so they tried it out and found it wasn't for them. They'd be the same in a fighting game, they 'd try it for a bit and then likely uninstall it after learning they have to learn, improve, and work at it.
As for actual balance decisions in SC2 that turned people off, early on a lot of decisions were made to counter the immediate high level meta, but not taking into account the suggestions of high level players and instead devs did their own thing. This lead to a fair number of patches where something was majorly changed when high level players asked for something more moderate (Just like DBD!). People got disgruntled and left cause the balance was poor and the devs were thick headed (Just like DBD!). SC2 now is pretty great (other than Protoss vs Protoss), but it took them years to fire the main designers and get new people in who actually listened to the high level community.
As for Nurse, she was introduced specifically as the devs' answer to the community's outcry for them to remove infinite loops and balance their maps. They gave us a killer that removed them, and every other way to dodge that survivors have. Of course she's incredibly strong, she was designed to counter literal broken impossible to beat mechanics that no other killer, even in today's game, could counter if they went against it. Not even Spirit, who people cry about all day, could have dealt with the infinites at the time, but Nurse can so of course her power is the most broken. The only reason most people don't play Nurse is because she is a buggy mess. Even the best Nurse players can lose to the average survivor if Nurse bugs happen and for example you can't blink twice, or you can't attack after a blink, or you can't blink through certain terrains like you should be able to, etc etc. Nurse would see much much higher play if she wasn't a buggy mess and you didn't have a 50% chance of not being able to play her to her actual strength.
Games should be mostly balanced for high level play, not entirely, but mostly, because new players don't know how to play. They think actual garbage tactics and play styles are overpowered and unbalanced. A new casual player will tell you Trapper is an unstoppable unbeatable killer while everyone with some time under their belt knows Trapper is trash. Why would you EVER balance around someone like that? He'll learn what he knew was truth was wrong and learn a new truth after he plays more, that's why you balance around people who actually play the game and not the dude who's done 10 games.
tl;dr: SC2 lost players due to devs not listening to high players' desires and casuals being too casual for an RTS. Nurse isn't played due to bugs, not due to high skill floor, games should be balanced around high level play because casuals are awful and stupid when it comes to the game so why would you ever balance around them.

He said himself, rank reset is a thing. Being in red ranks means you played that role a decent amount this month, it's not the secret to unlocking the ability to opinions on balance.
Also you're talking like only red rank killers get paired with red rank survivors. Not these days
The matchmaking is certainly ass right now, but the amount of red rank survivors you face at low ranks vs high ranks is still different. And literally noone that exists in red ranks as killer for an extended period thinks "The killers dont need any skill, they just have to show up." or "As killer its nice not having every game be a sweatfest but some are just so braindead and easy I feel bad for the survivors."
You have to play against real bad players for every game to be a cake walk, and likely not play much killer at all to not once face an swf hit squad.
Dude's talking out his ass.

I remember why I stopped playing. The survivor experience is absolutely miserable. I took a break for a while and now I’m rank 9. People are either not trying or just complete beginners. Its not worth playing, no matter how hard you sweat personally you’ll never get gens done as you’re pulling survivors off hooks every 5 seconds and they’re all dead by the time 2 gens are done. The killers dont need any skill, they just have to show up. Not to mention most still play like scum, tunneling out baby survivors as fast as possible and none even have any perks like DS to defend themselves.
As killer its nice not having every game be a sweatfest but some are just so braindead and easy I feel bad for the survivors. Its putting me against people who dont stand a chance.
Its like all the good players have quit overnight.
I dont just want to play killer though I want to play survivor. I paid for both roles but it feels like I can only enjoy half a game here.
lol I love this guy's comments. Talks like he knows about balance but constantly admits his rank is low. Yes Killer is easy at low rank against bad people and survivor is hard due to said bad teammates. Congrats you learned the secret everyone knows. Get a tiny bit gud and stop being so biased
-
It would help a lot to have a replay system, you can also stream your gameplay and review that, but a legit replay system where you can swap views between players would be great to have an idea of what happened and where things could've gone wrong.
-
Yes people do it often and it does work. If you see the angle the survivor's being placed you can crouch behind the gen away from it and avoid BBQ seeing you. It's relatively consistent, not much trick to it other than crouch for a couple seconds putting the gen between you and the hook location.
-
It completely invalidates certain killer's powers (trapper for instance is a big one), even outside of SWF it's a very strong perk, and on some maps it can make that survivor unstoppable (Midwich).
It's mostly due to SWF using it for perfect information, but if the person on their own can use it well it's literally wall hacks and incredibly strong.
-
They need to exist because tunneling is the best strategy and will be used by most killers without them. However, they need to be balanced in a way that shows that the interactions with each other are taken into account and they need to be reasonable in their applications.
For example, DS as a concept is fine for anti-tunneling. On its own the only big issues it has are locker not canceling it. Now when you combine it with Unbreakable then things get much more abusable. Now on top of being able to run to a locker, they can sit on a gen right next to you with no fear. If Killer grabs then it's a DS hit, if killer slugs then DS protects then until unbreakable can proc. It's a guaranteed extra health state no matter what.
BT is largely fine, except when combined with DS. Survivor gets unhooked, has BT, killer is coming, runs face first into Killer and body blocks for savior. Even being put onto the ground here is a good play because the savior is now safe and as described above, DS/Unbreakable combo means they'll be fine as well.
Adrenaline is fine, no problems with it imo. It's a single use perk reward for clearing 5 gens, it has to be earned. At most the only thing that would be fair for toning it down is removing the speed boost if you're already exhausted, but I think that's unnecessary.
Second chance perks are fine on their own, but when stacked together they become way stronger than they're intended to be.

There are matches where survivors run DS, BT, Dead Hard and Unbreakable and they never get used. Because just like in your defense of the insta downs all the 2nd chance perks require certain things to happens first, they are situational.
The difference being that the killer's insta-downs require the killer to use them right, while the survivors are used as a shield to make up for mistakes.
The only one that's kinda on the survivor to use properly is Dead Hard, and even that can be simplified greatly by just using it for distance to reach the next loop.

To be fair, people have been complaining about Leatherface for just as long a time, and the only reason they touched hillbilly was because they were reworking leatherface at the time, as chainsaw bros they are kindred spirits.
Everybody is complaining about the changes made to his base kit (that we have yet to test out), but nobody is applauding the fact his add-ons are finally getting the overhaul they needed and he is finally getting his own ultra-rare add-ons.
Everyone was right to complain, there was absolutely no reason to change billy straightup, just some add-ons
-
Survivors: "This will NEVER happen because if they got rid of such a essential mechanic, the game would simply die."
Also Survivors: "Lol there aren't enough swf players to even care about, they make up less than 50% of survivors"
Either way they either need to buff solo to bring more parity and balance killers around comms, or nerf swf so it's not a literal cheating tier advantage

It's basically due to the way that top level survivors, and especially swfs, play with those perks.
DS: "I have been unhooked, it's now time to do this gen that's almost done in the killer's face and sprint to a locker if he targets me, becoming invincible"
UB on its own is fine, but with DS it looks like this: "I have DS active and the killer slugged me. Killer can't pick me up so I'll UB up for free in a bit." Sometimes it looks like "Killer slugged me then chased the 2 others near me, he downed them and hooked one, now that he picked up the other one I'll pick myself up, save the other and heal. Also our 4'th was doing gens the whole time so not much lost."
BT: "I have been unhooked and the killer wasn't camping right on top of us, time to body block so he can't chase my savior. If killer downs me after I waste 15 seconds of his time for BT to end I have DS and UB to pick myself up"
Adrenaline: "Oh ######### I'm gonna get caught. *last gen pops* Nevermind, free health state and 150% movespeed. But I'll complain about noed taking away that fee health state if killer has it!"
Take any of those situations and make them planned for for SWF setups and they become exponentially worse to deal with.
-
Nurse, but she has so many game breaking bugs it's incredibly hard to justify playing her.
-
I really don't think anyone will debate you on this. I like Killer a lot more than survivor and can say with confidence Spirit and Freddy are easy and strong.

I wouldn't even say that, I mean how many times do you win against survivors that loop you for quite some time?
Survivors are trying to have fun, holding m1 is not having fun so they're often trying to do other stuff like finding totems, opening boxes, trying to get your attention etc etc.
What game are you playing? Any games against actual red rank survivors last 5-6 minutes before 5 gens are done, even against high pressure. People complain about noed on this forum every single day when the solution is do bones (although I suspect most of those players are boosted). In what world is that not due to survivors holding m1 on gens?
Hell you can just go watch any number of survivor streams or highlights and watch video after video of 5 gens being popped in 5 minutes, even if someone new is on a hook immediately after someone gets saved from a hook.

Depends on if I feel like it. I really only play killer for bloodpoints. I personally find it boring as its so easy. I play clown more than my main(billy) now since he got too easy. Also not a red rank killer. Haven't been for a long time either. As I said, I only play it for points. I do stream occasionally, but most of my time goes into #########, low quality videos lmao. But seriously, I don't really play killer anymore. My rank has been reset to grey. That makes me hate killer even more. I just find it even more easy. Funny thing is though, matchmaking is so bad that I still go against a lot of red ranks.
It'd be nice if we could have a button to just ignore obvious trolls/liars like this dude. Every time he shows up he does nothing but talk ######### about killer being easy. And I bet it is easy vs the low ranks he's in.

I'll be honest and say I'm betting they don't know how to fix those bugs or find it not worth their time because so few people play nurse. Basically either they're bad at their job or don't care.

you can say whatever you want but fog whispers are if nothing else also drama queens, why? because it sells, I can see the youtube vids now "OMG THEY ACTUALLY KILLED HILLBILLY" with some crying face next to it.
Watching otz play the ptb was honestly painful, and that is freaking otz, one of the most level headed guys in the game.
He pretty much did not do an actual proper match the entire time, going for silly chainsaw attempts when nobody actually playing would use that in that situation, He avoided M1ing pretty much constantly while MAYBE with this new cooldown system its wise to M1 a bit?!?!
They have an internal team for testing, they are not perfect but man who is.
If you are on the forums long enough you see some massively stupid or ignorant remarks being made regarding balance, case in point, OP making the sweeping statement of "they never nerf survivors" which is just simply false.
Otz had a more than fair assessment of billy and even said he was fine with the awful overheat mechanic. On top of that, he's huge and gets 3k+ viewers per stream and massive views on his youtube vids. He is the person who least needs to start drama for views and is a terrible example for you to bring up. And of course he wasn't using M1, billy's M1 wasn't changed his saw was, so he was testing the saw and how it felt/performed, concluding it's exceedingly worse.
As for fog whisperers in general, why the hell wouldn't they make use of their group of high rank well known players to test the balance of new things and listen to their feedback? They (hopefully) legit want the game to be fair and fun and are the best ones to tell the devs whether something is useless or broken.
*They have an internal team for testing, they are not perfect but man who is.*
Then either that QA team sucks at the game or are being used purely for functionality testing. You can't tell me that with 85% of perks across the game being functionally worthless, several killers in dumpster tier for years, and maps like Midwich or Haddonfield coming out that they're doing a good job on balance testing. I'm sure their job consists of: "Does the game crash on startup? Are their major bugs? No? Job's done!" I'm positive they're only used to identify and report Class A and class B bugs, while if they report Class C or below bugs they're ignored and they have little to no say at all on balance. The internal balance team clearly isn't good, maybe they should make use of some group of high rank well known players to give proper feedback or something...

I don’t even know what to say here.
There are easily more examples of devs not listening to feedback than doing so. On top of that when have devs ever reverted a change? Not once, not a single time have they gone back on something they changed. They may tweak it a bit, but never will they revert things as the majority of players are screaming at the top of their lungs for them to do.
Here's what the devs are thinking: "We put work into this change, made some visuals, reprogrammed some stuff, we'd rather burn in a fire than undo our precious hard work!" And they WILL push this ######### overheat mechanic through with all these useless add-ons, turning Billy into boring trash.

*They have an internal team for testing, they are not perfect but man who is*
Either they suck at the game and they need a better QA team (like I dunno, some group of well known high level players), or their QA amounts to "Does the game run when I launch it? Does it crash when I do stuff? No? Job's done." Because these balance decisions are laughably bad. 85% of total perks in this game are essentially worthless, several killers are in the dumpster tier and have been for years, and even with slow steady changes over time the game is still woefully survivor sided. Their balance designers are bad and their QA team is worse if they're saying "yeah these perks, balance changes, etc. feel good." Again, I'm positive all their QA team is looking for is functionality and reporting class A and class B bugs while ignoring or having no impact on Class C and below bugs and game balance.
-
This game is tremendously survivor sided at high skill levels. The only reason survivors don't win literally every match is because of how ######### the ranking system is so a lot of boosted bad players are in red ranks diluting the pool of players. If those rank 12's weren't in red ranks due to the ######### medal system then Killers have to try as hard as possible just for a 2k.

Devs are too lazy to implement a simple and helpful change, easy as that.

Problem is here that people just want everything right away when funny enough it is shown RIGHT NOW that testing too much is bad.
Current PTB they are testing Bubba and Hillbilly AND the 60-tick servers which are in limited supply currently making people have super high ping making all testing on bubba and hillbilly invalid, hence the servers are now tested later.
Its just that people always want things to be more balanced but when X is looked at they start asking about Y.
WE CANT AND SHOULD NOT DO EVERYTHING AT ONCE.
Bubba was long on the list for a looking at and many of the community agree with that and BHVR just found it appropriate or time to look at his fellow chainsaw brother while they were at it.
Mories, Keys, Freddy, Spirit, DS, No Mither, map design, graphics, you name it, all will have some look at in the future at some point, just not right now.
They should have a basic internal QA team that is reasonably skilled at the game that can give them feedback on balance changes before they go live. Or hell, use their fog whisperers and give them access to changes early for feedback. This would solve both the problems of testing too much at once causing conflicts, and planning out terribly ######### balance changes like Billy.
Either they don't have an internal QA team that can play at reasonably high levels or they don't listen to feedback. Based on what was shown in the past, it's probably a bit of both. Hell, even the fog whisperer thing is like that, apparently they saw the Midwich map early, said it was terrible for gameplay, still pushed it out.
-
The devs are terrible at balancing this game, see hillbilly changes, and refuse to admit they're wrong when their playerbase calls out their stupidity.

They won't get it out any time soon because they're bad at their jobs. Just look at how bad the servers are, I doubt when they release this MMR system it will even work. At the very minimum it will have huge exploits that people will surely take advantage of (like swfs partying with 1 low rank guy for example).
-
That makes sense and would be a good change. If you're auto killed at the end you should get a few struggle points.
Similarly I'd like better compensation for D/Cs on both sides. Especially Killer who gets almost nothing and even misses out on BBQ stacks for D/Cs.

Who cares about addons? Barely ever use them, unless using killers that quite frankly need them to have slightly better chances on reds and they barely ever are of higher quality than yellow.
If you need them to make a killer to be viable in reds, killer sucks balls and need to be buffed/tweaked.
If addons make killer broken, they need to be nerfed.
Billy was too strong for how little downsides he had. Cooldown/overheat is completely fine. Adapt, skill floor is a bit deeper now (bad players will do worse), nothing more has changed.
Cant wait for a spirit rework though, hate her as much as any forced in loot box mechanic in any game.
I wanna know what drugs you're on to think Billy will be anywhere near as good as he once was after this. He's gutted hard and you're either insane or bad at the game to think otherwise

I just went against a Billy. He holds his chainsaw rev’d for ages as I run around a rock, he then gives up, sprints across the map, revs again and instadowns someone
None of these changes stopped him from sprinting map wide whenever he wanted, none stopped him from using the instadown whenever he wanted
He’s barely any different but killer mains gonna be killer mains and cry salt. Only difference is now with the add on changes at least if you’re a decent player you can keep away from the chainsaw easier. Before with add ons even a rank 20 could use the chainsaw like an M1
That is literally impossible after the change. Even with add-ons to help with overheat. I tested it myself and if anyone wants public info on it go watch the vod of a big streamer like Otz. He showed multiple times you can't feather the charge for more than 5 seconds and a sprint across map takes half your overheat. From what you said not only did he feather at you, but then sprinted away and then back revved. That's super impossible. Unless you mean someone ran into his sprint, but you'd have to make killer literally have no power to balance around bad players like that.
Here's Otz sprinting and then feathering for a moment: https://clips.twitch.tv/ArbitraryVivaciousRamenSSSsss

But there's nothing wrong with people who said to wait until the PTB. Now we know for sure that the nerfs go too far. Now we can complain with evidence to back it up.
Knee jerk reactions are rarely or never good even if they end up being right in the long run. It's not the people were saying "these nerfs seem too harsh, I don't think Billy deserves this, and here's why" it's the people who were saying "BILLY IS DEAD LETS ALL LEAVE DBD THIS IS THE END OF THE WORLD BHVR ARE MORONS LETS CAMP EVERY SINGLE SURVIVOR IN PROTEST"
There was no real reason to wait until the PTB. Anyone who watched the preview video and analyzed it could tell it looked bad. Getting hands on time confirmed it, and even confirmed it's worse than expected which is surprising.
Yes some people overreacted with Game is dead, but at the end of the day Billy's "minimal change" is a very hefty nerf. Now we'll see if BHVR does as expected and just pushes this through, or if they'll do what top players suggested and revert changes and fix some add-ons which pushed him over the top. I honestly have very little hope due to past trends.

Anime is absolutely huge in terms of popularity, much bigger than some horror stuff out there (Horror is way way more niche than you may think) and you can't always get a license necessary to add something like Alien, Predator, Jason Vorhees, etc.
There is plenty of anime/manga stuff that features body horror, monsters, psychological trauma, etc. You have a very narrow view on what's available if you can't think of any horror anime/manga.
I'd suggest looking up some Itou Junji at the very least as a very prolific horror manga artist. Or look up the classic Gantz.
Nobody's suggesting they add Naruto or some uguu waifu and you're silly to think so

It really depends on how fast the over-heat is. For Billy I don't really think it's necessary because yesterday when I was doing curves I realized that you have to hold it for a good amount of time. Over-all though it really isn't needed but you know how BHVR is.
Based on their video you have ~6-7 seconds of feathering before you overheat if you start with 0 overheat. It takes ~25-30% overheat just to start a sprint with pure M2 holding. This means Billy's ability to mindgame a survivor to a bad side of the loop for a curve is severely limited if not basically removed and curving can only be done if the survivor has already put themselves in the worst possible situation. And this was with a purple add-on that may or may not have affected it.

From the video it didn't look that crippling. However I'm not a Billy player. So I could be entirely mistaken.
From the video if you just straight hold M2 it's ~25-30% overheat, trying to feather you have ~6-7 total seconds before it overheats, if it overheats you have ~13-16 seconds before you can M2 again. It's a massive nerf and makes Billy's power insanely more 1 dimensional while slowing his mobility.

Because survivors can't stand that killer has a perk that lets them give an extra health state hit, even though said survivors have unbreakable, ds, bt, soul guard, dead hard all at their disposal which give them an extra health state.
Noed isn't even all that good, at most it tends to net a +1 unless the survivors are super altruistic because it's only available at EGC...

It's never gonna happen imo
The devs want it to be a grind for perks. If they didn't, something would have been done by now.
Which is to their detriment. I have several friends that were interested in the game until they learned how much they would have to grind just to get 1 character a set of tier 3 perks, let alone getting teachables and then also getting those perks. The grind is ridiculously bad in this game even after the changes they made and it only gets worse with each new addition to the game.

I didn’t say these threads are getting old I am saying that people stating devs don’t care is getting old. Its not always a thread title either, could be a comment, could be anything. Its getting really annoying that people seemingly just ignore changes that happened after a PTB from community demand and go after all the times devs didn’t change something.
But they've proven time and again that they either don't care or are completely incompetent, maybe both. They blatantly ignored TONS of feedback on Nurse and just pushed through the changes they had lined up anyway.
They continue to not fix game breaking Nurse bugs, not being able to blink a second time being the most painful of them all. These bugs have existed at minimum for MONTHS.
They continue to not fix the sound bug that results in survivors sometimes making no noise and getting iron will for free. Again, a months old bug.
Fog whisperers have revealed they gave feedback that Midwich's design was bad and exploitable by things like OoO, they didn't listen to any of it and several streamers have shown OoO is nearly uncatchable on that map.
And their dedicated servers continue to be poor with things like grabs cancelling, false hits, survivors seeing themselves get hit from a long distance away, survivors teleporting after being downed (I've seen a survivor fall off a rock when downed, followed, and they teleported back onto the rock after their animation ended)...
What can you call ignoring what is essentially a high ranking QA team of players (fog whisperers) on map design other than not caring? How can you call 80% of perks being worthless anything other than incompetent? The ONLY times that a game has the exact same meta (like survivor's perks for example) for years is if either the devs don't care or are so bad at balancing they can't recognize that changes need to happen.
There is good reason people are upset with the devs and dismissing legit criticism that has been proven to be true (the devs don't listen to feedback for example) does nothing to help.
