High BP event making more people play killer and new player influx from summer sale. Killer is easier at low low ranks until matchmaking starts ######### them into red ranks when they're rank 16. Give it a few days and it'll go back to normal.
-
Don't worry guys, BHVR said they're working on a matchmaking thing and it's coming out at the end of June! It's now June 36'th so any day now
-
It's literally easier to rank up with survivor and killer by like... a lot. There's an overabundance of potato survivors at red ranks ruining solo queue for people and has been a topic of concern for people for a long time. I can't imagine how you could have trouble ranking up on survivor.

For 60 seconds you might have to hit a survivor 1 extra time and thats too long? Survivors deal with 1 hit downs for full matches on a number of killers and in plenty of killer perks too. Never seen so many complaints over having to get 1 extra hit.
If you grab that survivor and they DS the following is possible: 5 second stun, 15-25 seconds to catch back up (Unless Nurse, billy, oni, or spirit), Survivor reached a jungle gym or a pallet setup you hadn't dealt with yet and if they're good at looping then it's however long it takes you to deal with the loop and hope they don't have another tile nearby to use. Against a good survivor unless you're playing a Killer like Nurse or Spirit who can shut down a looper quick then that can easily be 1 minute of time.
Just cause you can't loop the killer well doesn't mean others can't take advantage of this.
-
No because it's wasting a perk slot for a very underwhelming ability. It's not common to be in a situation where someone can flashlight save, and if you are then deal with them before you pick them up. And highlighting them for a few seconds when they're literally right in front of you doesn't do much either.
It's a buff, but it's still a very underwhelming perk.
-
2k feels like a loss for the killer regardless of what side I'm on. In general I think 3k or 4k feels like the Killer won and anything less is a loss. It's very uncommon I feel like it was a tie at 2k. Often 2k was a 1k and then 1 more during EGC right at the end. Once in a while a 2k feels close and there were a lot of hooks, but often 2k is just survivors winning and Killer getting an extra catch at the end.

And there are most likely more coming. (@SunaIIanu ) Btw Dead Dawg Saloon is the second smalles map in the game, only Coal Tower is smaller since they made it smaller with the patch you screenshotted
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1414458#Comment_1414458
His mobility is not taken away, it gets a bit cut. He has still better mobility than old nurse and I think this is still fine. You had no chance to open gates against Billy and BBQ Billy gets into new chases as fast as BBQ Freddy. I think "taken away" is seriously not the right term. "Balanced" would be my pick, and that is what the game needs. Currently he does, as YOU said, have TONS of mobility options like no other killer. I would almost call him omnipresent. The only time where you don't have to expect him zooming into your back is when he is in a chase with someone else
It's literally removing his mobility after you use it twice. It's literally being "taken away" with the overheat mechanic in the same way your exhaustion perks are taken away while exhausted. Billy is far from an unstoppable killer, nobody even puts him as #1 on their tier list, he's always at best 3 or 4 and he's only that way in the hands of a very good player. He's the high tier killer with probably the most counter play to.
-
How does one tier 3 too soon with infinite and tombstone? That takes like 2 straight minutes of staring...

How is it being taken away?
seriously, provide us a logical argument as to how, if the chainsaw is OVERUSED and overheats, limits his power for just 20 seconds, takes away all of his mobility 100% of the time.
C’mon, we’re all waiting.
Billy's biggest strength is the ability to check areas of the map quickly by revving then sprinting towards a gen, likely needing to cancel and then revving and sprinting to another. From just the vod it takes about 25-30% overheat to start a sprint, then it slowly fills more as you sprint, the sprint went about 25% of the map and the overheat was around 50% filled by the time he hits Dwight. If there was noone there he would've had to cancel and rev - sprint again. If his next gen choice has noone on it he no longer has his sprint available, and if he had found someone he doesn't have his power as an option to down as it will be on cd for 15ish seconds.
On a less open map his mobility is absolutely gutted because he can no longer do short sprints to quickly cover some distance unless he absolutely 100% knows he's finding someone.
Billy is losing tons of mobility options, especially for the early parts of the game where the gens are spread and he is searching for people. It's honestly pretty obvious and I can't see how you don't understand this.
-
Unfortunately this is just gonna be Nurse 2.0 and will make Billy feel awful. He'll probably still be a decent killer, but a shadow of his former self. Happened to me with Nurse, and here I am still waiting for them to fix her bugs... Sorry to see it happen to you guys with Billy.

I think every killer is happy that he can use franklins and camp the key until it is gone...
So the devs decide to do something against keys. But now is the question:
CAN WE EXPECT A „BIG“ CHANGE FOR MORIS TOO????????
For example
- killer can start mori only, if all four survivors were hooked?
- if a killer couldn’t hook a survivor during the first 2 min of the match, mori will be removed for the match
- mori can only be used on deadhooks
We will see...
Literally noone ever will waste a perk slot on franklins to then waste 90 seconds camping an item and losing 3-4 gens.
Both keys and moris need adjustments, but this did literally nothing

In fact, yes, voice communication is very powerful, but you have to accept it, this game dies if they start banning that.
survivors: "This game will die if they ban swf!"
Also Survivors: "Swf isn't common enough to balance around, you almost never see it"
-
Using a third party program to gain an advantage in game is cheating, yes.
I'm sure if I loaded up cheat engine and it showed me the aura of every survivor and how complete generators were at all times then I'd get banned for cheating. Yet mysteriously, SWF which gives this information is developer supported.
Survivor mains will come and yell about it "I just wanna play with my friends" but it's still cheating no matter how you dress it up. Killer should be allowed to use cheat engine to show survivor auras at all times if survivors are allowed to use comms.

Sure it has plenty of counters. But what is the justification for also giving double blood points? Break it into 2 perks and make killers use 2 spots just like survivors have to. Imagine if kindred or bond also gave double blood points.
Then don't advocate to nerf a perk that isn't too strong, advocate to buff a survivor perk to give bloodpoints. Hell make it something similar like putting it on dark sense which works similar to BBQ.

@Aven_Fallen said:
If we would have nerfed Killers every time Survivors got nerfed, there would be no Killers ingame anymore, lol. Dont act like Killers get constant Nerfs, the Survivor Side got way more Nerfs (which were also justified) than Killers.
But its that again - there is a thing that affects Killers and again they are the victims of the evil Devs. Because Killer is so hard to play.
Yes because survivors never had complete safety at infinites, or the ability to heal before the killer finished wiping their weapon after a hit, or the ability to completely remove killer's hooks from the game. Yeah no nerfs were deserved you biased idiot

Fixing things, and buffing/changing weaker killers takes time.
The PH nerf was likely done so quickly because PHs would just tunnel and camp cages and that wasn't fun.
Trapper and Wraith release: Since game beginning. They've had 4 years
Leatherface release: 2017. They've had 3 years (rumor says they might finally do something with him)
Clown/Legion Release: 2018. They've had 2 years
How long can it take to look at 99% of red rank players' tier lists and go "Maybe trapper should start with more than 1 trap as a base."
>The PH nerf was likely done so quickly because PHs would just tunnel and camp cages and that wasn't fun.
Survivors brazenly repairing a gen right in front of you and jumping into a locker with DS isn't fun and is a clear abuse of the power.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think the Pyramid Head change is entirely out of line. But holy ######### ######### they just refuse to address stuff to help killer even a little.
-
Because they just barely ######### care about the Killer's experience, just enough to hopefully keep people playing, but not enough to make it feel good. They've yet to prove me wrong on this thought in years. They will leap immediately to fix something survivors cry about (Pyramid head for example) but won't fix bugs or mechanics that hurt Killers. The sound bug where survivors get iron will for free STILL EXISTS, it's been months. DS is still abused with lockers to make survivors untouchable for an extended period of time. Killers like Trapper, Wraith, Clown are still absolute trash tier.
BHVR doesn't give a ######### about killers
-
Bug hurts killers, so it's low priority for them. They're just very indifferent towards killers tbh.
I remember every single time a killer had a bug in their favor it was either fixed quickly or a literal bannable offense to make use of it (legion infinite, nurse movespeed bug, etc). Meanwhile if a bug hurts the killer, it just stays... sometimes for months or even longer.

I've completely given up. Other killers actually work. I just get frustrated even though I consistently do well with Nurse. We have to deal with 10 month old bugs on this character and generally poor power performance on dedicated servers, and we hear nary a peep that any of this is acknowledged. Also, it seems that we, the Nurse players, do a lot of the final QA for Nurse on the new maps. So that's fun. I found 2 or 3 blink deadzones within a minute on Midwich when it came out.
I entirely understand. When Midwich first came out and I did my first Nurse game on it I found various areas, including literally a spot in a straight hallway, where I couldn't blink properly.
They just keep ignoring the Nurse bugs (some years old now) and making maps that she doesn't interact with properly. It's just so upsetting that I can't play the Killer I find most fun without a 100% guarantee that something will break.
-
Bumping this thread hoping a dev will actually see it and maybe start working on fixing a bug for once

Except the whole point is that he does the kill, hence the name killer. Otherwise it's a cop out no matter which way you see it.
It used to work like that, what happened was survivors would hold the game hostage through healing, hiding, and looping at infinites that existed back then. Survivors were being toxic ######### and keeping games from ever ending, some streamers had highlights of survivors keeping the game going for HOURS before said streamers just disconnected. EGC exists for a reason
-
Trapper needs a buff, and it's been well known Trapper needs a buff for like 3 years now, but BHVR just isn't good at balancing, or doesn't want to balance, or doesn't care; probably all 3 tbh. Regardless it probably won't happen and you probably need to play another killer if you want to have consistent success.

Honestly its not that its the fact everyone HATES nurse so many people will call her bad but if they said hey what if we five her one blink only those same people would be like yeah she is too strong and also yeah game is probably her best indoor map and midwich because the floors are right above so blinking would be easier but id say game is great for nurse but only if you are a smart killer and a good nurse
In theory she should be better on indoor maps than other killers, in practice the game is so ######### buggy with her you sometimes can't blink up or down floors properly, then you're hit with fatigue. Other times you'll aim straight forward and blink up or down floors when you shouldn't and then you get fatigued. Other times you'll blink once and not be allowed to use your follow up blink and then you get fatigued. Other times you blink on top of someone, swing, and the hit doesn't register on them and then you get fatigued.
Nurse is buggy as hell. I love nurse personally, she's easily the most fun killer to learn and master imo. But her tier ranges from S to D depending on which bugs you get in the particular game you play. I haven't played a single nurse game without some bug happening in over 50 games with her.
-
Honestly I think she's still S-tier, but I can 100% understand why people wouldn't put her there. The plethora of bugs that plague her really make it much harder to play her. Along with more indoor maps coming out (boy I sure to love aiming straight or even up and teleporting through the floor, or sometimes not being allowed to teleport upstairs because ######### me) and she starts to feel a lot worse than she should.
Her power's base strength keeps her high tier, but the bugs just weigh her down so much and BHVR won't fix them because they will do at most the bare minimum for the Killer side of things.

I've never understood why a killer named The Trapper can only carry 1 trap. It makes zero sense. Pig is able to carry 4 RBT's, but poor trappers arms hurt from 1? He needs to have access to more at the start of a match, because anyone who's played Trapper for more than a minute knows 2-3 Gens are gone before you even have anything set up decently.
Honestly if you like trapper, just play Hag. She's Better Trapper(tm) since she technically can place traps infinitely, starts with 9 of them, doesn't have to walk across the map to pick them up, and even teleports to them.
BHVR has proven incredibly incompetent when it comes to actually trying to balance their game and the very simple "Trapper should start with a bag and several traps" buff hasn't even been implemented after 4 years of Trapper being a bottom tier killer unless you basement trap.
It took them nearly a year of complaints before they removed sabotage being able to literally destroy trapper's traps and remove his ability. So don't hold your breath on this.

Give the Devs a break guys. No game is perfect and especially with Covid happening and them having to work from home, it’s hard to develop a game. It also costs a large sum of money to send a patch through and all consoles have different time periods to have patches sent through. Sure it’s a big mess up with coding but give them a break don’t bully them. Just save your cakes and have fun with the game (even if it is a buggy mess rn)
When you give excuses and hand waive every problem saying it's not that bad you eventually wind up with Nurse and her myriad of common bugs. They talk about Quality Assurance but if they have a QA team they should've been able to catch the cakes not working in the first place as that's a very very simple bug to test for and reproduce. Trust me, I've worked on QA before.
The devs clearly listen to the bare minimum from their QA team, meaning "Does the game launch?" is all they care about.

I generally feel killers are the most vocal, whereas survivors who complain about balance generally get shut down because "they are the power role". At the minute solo survivor is weak and swf is strong.
The thing is people just don't understand you can't win every single game, with every killer. When I play Clown if I get beat by a 4 man swf, I don't complain because it's a tough killer. Also certain maps are a pretty much gg so again you have to just except that.
Solo survivor isn't even weak, it's the ranking and mm systems that have screwed things over. A decently high number of "rank 1" survivors aren't that good, it's just pretty easy to rank up so people who should be rank 10 are in the red. It's a bit easy to rank up in Killer, but survivor you can damn near afk and pip. I mean I've seen survivors in red ranks who can't loop at all, mess up skill checks, run to dead zones instead of jungle gyms, etc.
I assume if they ever actually fix the ranking and mm systems to properly reflect skill we'll see how the balance of the game actually lies for solo survivor.
-
I'm currently on break from this game due to 2 reasons. First and foremost being the INSANE number of unacceptable bugs, especially as killer, especially as Nurse. Survivors getting free iron will for example is such a game changing bug but it's been going on for a while and even got worse recently. And I could spend several paragraphs listing and going over Nurse's bugs that have existed for YEARS but we'll just leave it at they suck.
The second reason is balance issues, especially when concerning SWF. I can usually do fine against 4 solos barring the occasional game against 4 godlike players, however SWF is such an unfair glaring advantage it can make mediocre players challenging to beat. Even as little as 2 solos and a 2 man drastically changes the pacing. It's very frustrating to feel like a lost, not because my opponents were better, but because the game was rigged from the start.
As a side note, I see a lot of people posting "but survivors have had more nerfs" and that's true. But those nerfs were needed. I played this game in beta and I've seen every filthy tactic available to survivors over the years and abused some of them myself. You used to be able to heal so fast that before the killer finished wiping their blade after a hit, you were healed for example. Are you saying the nerfs to healing weren't justified? Maps used to have at least 1 infinite on each of them that the killer would never be able to hit you at (until Nurse was added), are you saying they should've stayed? You used to be able to sabotage every hook on the map and they wouldn't respawn so killer couldn't hook anyone, are you saying that should've stayed? Most survivor nerfs were earned as survivor has always been the power role in this game at red ranks.

Okay so disregarding the fact that most oft these perks are very weak, some of them dont make sense.
Like you mentioned wake up: do swfs open gates 15% faster? No they dont.
And why alert, OoO,spine chill, dark sense...?
Have you ever played in a swf? You dont know where the killer is at every time.
And why things like small game?
Does every swf member automatically know where totems are?
Your statements are just wrong.
And no, having wall hacks and telling your friends when the killer is chasing you isnt the same.
Alert, OoO, Dark sense tells you where the killer is "Killer is on me at x, killer is headed towards y" tells you where the killer is.
Spine Chill tells you when killer is headed your way along with helping with speeds/skill checks. "Killer hooked me and is headed towards you at shack gen" tells you when the killer is headed your way. Comms give no help in checks/speeds.
Small Game helps you know where a totem or bear trap is. "Killer placed a trap at shack window. I saw ruin totem it's at x but killer is after me."
I have heard all of this and more communicated in swf groups. Again, comms are weaker than some of these perks and stronger than some of these perks, but regardless comms still gives you the information these perks can provide. All for free.
Have you ever played in a swf? You dont know where the killer is at every time.
I have, and you know basically all the time. On top of it, even had I not, swf friends stream on Twitch all the time and you can load up tons of streams for examples of it. Even rank 10 players will say "killer chasing me over at x. I'm injured at y come heal me, etc"
And no, having wall hacks and telling your friends when the killer is chasing you isnt the same
"And no, having information where your opponent is and having information where your opponent is isn't the same." That's what you just said.
Especially if you're playing a stealth killer, having someone say "Killer is at x" is a MASSIVE UNFAIR ADVANTAGE. Use your brain for 10 seconds and you'd realize swf is extremely unfair. But you probably won't admit it because you're biased.

So playing with your friends is literally cheating?😂
And no, being in a swf doesnt give you over 20 perks for free.
Spine chill, kindred, bond, empathy, after-care, alert, better together, dark sense, detective's hunch, buckle-up, wake up, small game, and object of obsession. My bad, only 13 free perks. For some of these things comms are stronger than them, for others comms are weaker, but in the end it's at least a pseudo version of 13 perks for each swf player. And killers get NOTHING to compensate for it.
Even the most casual SWF players will say something like "Killer's after me, I'm at shack" which lets their friends know they can do gens elsewhere. If this game was balanced around comms then the perks I mentioned above wouldn't exist.
Again, swf is cheating whether you want to admit it or not. As killer I might as well load up cheat engine and light up survivors' auras for the entire game cause that's basically what saying "Killer is at x location" does.
-
They won't remove it and any survivor that defends it is fine with literally cheating since comms gives you over 20 perks worth of knowledge.
But the devs don't care about the killer side of things
-
NOED rewards bad play and not doing your job as killer.
Dead Hard rewards bad play and not doing your job looping, DS rewards bad play and the team not doing their job unhooking safely, Hatch rewards not finishing gens, etc. Killers get 1 second chance perk while survivors can load up 4 (dead hard, unbreakable, ds, adrenaline) different ways to undo damage on themselves with perks.
-
Second chance perks need to exist to counter tunneling at least to a point, but DS definitely needs a tweak. DS needs to deactivate if any of the following happen: A different survivor is downed and hooked (you weren't tunneled), you are healed to full (you are no longer in danger), you work on a generator (you're safe enough to not need the protection). Apparently the devs say it "isn't an anti-tunnel perk" but that's obvious bullshit, like saying unbreakable wasn't designed to counter slugging or something. Keep it doing its anti tunnel job and make sure that's all it's doing, as it stands now it's abused by high level survivors to guarantee they are safe for 60 seconds.
-
Gotta say, survivor mains are such entitled babies. You're given a clip of someone downing, hooking, then downing all the other survivors AFTER the first was unhooked. Then the killer tries to play around Unbreakable, another meta second chance perk that is super common and he gets hit by DS and you're gonna say that's fair?
I bet you also complain about NOED, literally the ONLY second chance perk killers have which is ultimately nowhere near as good as DS.
-
I like playing Killer more, but I do think DS should exist because tunneling is a poor experience.
However it still needs a fix or two. As it is now, it's often used as 60 seconds of near invulnerability, such as boldly sitting on a gen and jumping in a locker if the killer approaches. And it punishes a killer who is playing well even if they didn't tunnel. I've had plenty of situations where I hook a person, person gets unhooked, chase and down another person, hook person I just downed, chase someone, see recently unhooked guy go for save, down him, and now I can't pick him up, if I leave I leave 2 survivors there to be quickly saved and the game is basically forcing me to camp because DS exists and nobody is happy.
I think this perk needs to go on cd if another survivor is hooked while it's active, if the unhooked survivor gets healed to full (as they are no longer in imminent danger) or if the survivor starts doing a generator because by doing so they are saying they are not being tunneled and are safe enough to work on the objectives.
A couple fixes to make it less low risk high reward would be great.

Gen tapping shouldn't be a thing you can stop the regression in a second without any animation. If they are going to leave gen regression speed where it is then a survivor should have to start repairing it to stop it. I don't think that will tilt the game. When was the last time you ran past something and tapped it with your finger and it magically repaired itself.
Just a thought.
To further the gen tapping thing. I was playing Plague, I contaminated the gen they were clearly going for and kicked it. I figured I'd get to regress it a bit or they get sick. Turns out you can just tap it to undo regression and not get infected because it's so fast.

They should, but as i said only after buffing solo survivors.Because giving SWF something like a repair penalty would punish the players that just want to have fun with their friends.
And i would say that most of the SWF i versed were rather chill than tryhard.I only encountered like a handful of sweaty SWFs and i've been playing this game for a very very long time.
I think this is inherently wrong. Remember swf isn't just 4 man groups. It's as little as 2. And PLENTY of 2 man groups are trying pretty hard to win.
I'll agree that most 4 man swfs are just friends messing around. Most 4 man swfs I've faced have been pretty casual players. But I'd say the opposite is true with most 2 mans as most of those pairs are sweating hard.
Regardless, the fact is that swf is an insane advantage and something needs to be done to solve that issue.
-
Honestly, SOMETHING has to be done about the massive advantage comms gives you. Its power can be the same as if I loaded up cheat engine and had survivor auras visible all game along with gens changing color based on how close they are to complete. The amount of information you can share over comms is like having a pseudo version of almost every info perk available to survivors. This includes things like spine chill, kindred, bond, empathy, after-care, alert, better together, dark sense, detective's hunch, buckle-up, wake up, small game, and object of obsession. For some of these things comms are stronger than them, for others comms are weaker, but in the end it's at least a pseudo version of 13 perks for each swf player. It's crazy strong.

It isn't, and I'm sure the devs will back me up on this.
What you consider cheating, is not what the devs consider cheating. So, in laymen's terms.
It's not cheating.
So you're saying if I, as a killer, use a third party program that tells me where the survivors are at any given time and how progressed any given generators are then it's not cheating? Because that's the information SWF has and shares with each other.
I watched a twitch stream of 4 swf players and hearing "Killer is on me at shack" "Gen at [area] is 70% killer is on me now" "Found their hex, it's at [location] but killer is after me" "Killer left hook heading towards [area], I'm safe to unhook, do a gen elsewhere" "Killer's got me here, come for flashlight save at [area]" etc.
Since it's not cheating for survivors to all have that information due to a third party program, it wouldn't be cheating for Killer to have something similar, right? Or are we showing a double standard here?
-
The lack of response speaks volumes to me about how very little most people care about the killer's experience at middle ranks
