as long as humans are involved, there will be toxic ones.

A totem counter breaks totems.
Why would a killer bring totens anymore They will just run non totem perks for eternity.
-
Just for simplicity, let's pretend dropping pallets nets the most MMR in the shortest amount of time.
The result would be ppl running through the map dropping pallets like $$$ at a strip club on payday.
-
They want you to continue to play how you play naturally. Being a knower would change your behavior.

ppl will make lists...

if possible, be the fasted clown in the west
-
only 10% of the population should be in RR.
-
I think Yerv needs start another NOED rebellion...
-
If MMR works and you are one of the top 1% of players, you should be going against or matched up with other 1%ers.

HEX: Dead Harder

PC
Killer - Seconds
Survivor - Eternity
I'm in NA CST and when I do play, it's 10pm or later.

No, it's a hidden MMR rating

That part was really interesting to me too, but it does make sense. Usually the developers have a much better sense of the bigger picture, what can be done, where and when, and the most valuable thing we can give them is experiential feedback because that's the one thing they can't get just from looking at the theory behind everything. (They're also professionals who've studied this stuff in a way most players probably haven't - not saying that means they're always right, just that I think it's very arrogant for players to assume that we have all the answers and the devs are just too stupid to realise.)
I have to say though, I am kinda disappointed with a lot of the responses to this thread. Probably I shouldn't be surprised, but I did have a little more faith in humanity than this and was really hoping that people would be open-minded enough to think critically about the points made in the article, particularly around the things players don't know about what goes on behind the scenes and why developers "don't listen". Instead, the majority seem to have just gone with the standard "game is trash and devs don't care and won't listen to feedback because they're bad at their jobs". Maybe that's true, of course, but I was hoping people might be able to put their prejudice aside long enough to entertain even the possibility that there's more to it than that.
We are an emotional bunch though fibi...

This is directed at the DEV. Now that we now Rank is being completely divested from matching us with opponents, and the MMR (with tweaks) will be going back online, can you please tell us HOW it works? What statistics does it measure and match?
They will not tell us as they don't want ppl to game the system, they want you to continue playing how you play.

i need to play musical killers

Here's this from MandyTalk.

This community is driven by feelings and emotional reactions.
We are not mature enough to receive stats as it has been proven time and time again.
I don't remember the forum post but someone was criticizing almo on one of the previous devs streams because they said the way he was answering questions was not entertaining or whatever(i don't remember the exact wording). This is an example of why we can't have nice things.

I turn into the best DBD player ever...

stop saying everything is crutch, it's in the game. I'm surprised mouse and kb isn't considered crutch, or those damn crutch headphones...

You can't punish SWF.

Not true, there are lots of games where the developers implement mechanisms to discourage certain behavior. Currently face camping and tunneling isn't really discouraged and in fact can be very effective. It's not about disallowing or punishing it but making it so that doing a certain action is considered so taboo that you don't choose to do it. Some ways to discourage is implementing measures that make it very costly to do. I'm not sure what that cost or those measures are but whatever they are they need to be intrinsic to the game, not a solution that requires survivors to use a perk.
Orion and others have mentioned that anti camping mechanics were tried a long time ago on the ptb. Survivors abused those mechanics so they never made it out of the ptb.

Get rid of humans playing killer.
Make killer AI.
You want people to play how you want and that is not going to happen.
When playing games with other humans, you need to accept that you can't control how they play.
-
No.
Every time we get stats and they tell us not to take anything from them, what do we do.....
-
I'm getting nothing but smolppswfs right now...

Doing 5 gens doesn't equal escaping...
-
But but but, doing bones is time that could be better spent on a generator...doing bones is a waste of time, WAH...

It's fair to hate something, but if someone is saying "Nerf this/Get rid of this" because that's their playing style and refuse to try and counter it, that's where the problem lies. I personally hate it when NOED activates, but I start the match thinking that the killer has every perk so if I see a totem, I break it.
and according to the meta thought process, time spent on anything other than a generator is a waste.
It's like all the min/maxers in all of gaming history want to "balance" dbd for the purpose of min/maxing every single match.
DBD is unique, but again people want to treat this game like any other tdm game.

Do gens, power gates, escape, repeat.
Anything that doesn't progress the objective is a waste of time...
This is why ppl hate noed, self care survivors etc...

Survivors dictate how killers should play.
Survivors dictate how other survivors should play.
Play how you wanna play...
-
You have 2 choices, do totems or do not do totems.
NOED is all about uncertainty, which is something that people do not like.
It feels like ppl want dbd to be more like 5 vs 5 tdm sometimes.
-
You don't "earn" the escape until you've passed through the gates or jumped in the hatch.
