Ran into a cheating Legion this time. Knew where everyone was hiding all the time with no add-ons or perks that enabled it. Fun. Guess what? That Legion ALSO had NOED. and Devour Hope, which I see on every other killer now.
Hey, yeah, uh... ya know Legion has tracking abilities as his base kit, right? No perks or add-ons required. I'm sorry you had a rough set of matches, but 'able to find you' is a long stretch from 'cheating'.
You all gotta get yourselves to the red ranks. I honestly can't remember the last time I went against a Rank 1 killer who used NOED. Even bringing it seems like a tacit admission that you can't stop the gens from being completed.

Red ranks are usually always running the same OP meta tier perks over and over, while I see more variety in builds in purple and green ranks.
Yesterday I got into red ranks, and game are alllways the same thing.
Seriously, you guys that run the exact same build over and over, are just boring. There are more perks in the game you know?
I've noticed that obviously, to reach red ranks you need a certain amount of skill, but another reason to reach red ranks, is because you are using meta perks, that's all.
I rather derank at keep playing in purple ranks, before being forced to play meta perks in all of my games.
It's a vicious cicle. Killers or survivors, use meta perks. Then the ones that didn't use them, may feel bad about their performance. Then, they realize they "have to use" meta perks. Then they use meta perks and they make the other side think the same ######### again.
You see what I mean?
Please, try different new builds, don't be afraid of changing one perk slot for something you might have wanted to try before. Same with add-ons.
I know, It was so hard for me at first to get rid of my BBQ+pop, but it gets better, believe me. You feel better when you are experimenting and trying new stuff.
Finally, I'm not saying "NEVER EVER RUN META PERKS". Just that you know, there is a wide roster of perks and add-ons in the game, you can always try something new.
Just wait until you go against a team packed to the gills with meta perks who then get mad at you for using a single specific perk as killer.
I once got told that I was "unoriginal and unexciting" for using BBQ and PGTW against a team with 4 DS, 4 DH, 3 BT, 3 unbreakable, and 2 adrenaline. 'Unoriginal' indeed.

Funnily enough, I encountered and reported what I believe to be my first cheaters today.
And from what I could tell, it was a full Xbox group (globe icon, but spaces in the name) and if it was cheating, it was the weirdest cheating I've ever seen.
So, match starts. A poor guy spawns like 30 yards from me, not even behind anything. Probably one of the unluckiest spawns I've ever seen. I go over and hit him immediately, it seems like he hasn't even loaded in fully yet or maybe isn't at his game. He starts running after the hit, though. He runs about 15 feet and my Tinkerer pops. If you don't know, Tinkerer makes you undetectable when a generator hits 70%, as well as notifying you of which generator is at 70%, the generator pops almost instantly after the Tinkerer notification. The generator is actually right in front of me, and this dude is running towards it, but I can't quite see everything around it. I get there less than 2 seconds later and see some REALLY faint scratch marks, the dude stops and points for some reason, there's no one ANYWHERE by the gen, and it's a big open field in the direction he's pointing, with no big line of sight blockers or anything, not for quite a while at least. Maybe they're just stealthy or something.
That said, I am flabbergasted, as we're literally seconds into the match. I don't assume much at this point, I imagine with the right perks and 3 BNPs, you could pop a gen that fast no problem. Weird to use them on the first gen, but no biggie. Also weird that 3 of them popping a gen pretty much in my line of sight and clearly sprinting since there WERE scratch marks wouldn't result in me seeing anybody, but again, no biggie. Weird stuff happens, sometimes you think one thing is happening when they did something entirely different.
I down him a few seconds later, he was in a dead zone so he didn't make it very far, that gen didn't have much around it. A hook is very close by. I hook him.
Tinkerer pops twice. Two separate gens, literally across the map.
I'm playing Oni, and at this point I've only landed that initial hit for blood orbs and the guy hasn't dropped very many extra yet, so I start hoofing it.
As soon as I start going, the dude is unhooked. I turn around, and there are two teammates there, healing him. But... that's 3 people. And I just saw two Tinkerer pops across the map... Not "nearly at the same time," at almost the damn same frame. And the second I turn to go to them, two people are suddenly unhooking and healing this dude. At this point I'm tremendously confused. The dude again starts pointing, I don't know at what. I hit one of the people, and now have enough to pop blood fury. I pop it and they run out of my line of sight behind a wall while I'm in the animation. I start a demon rush and get around the wall and... nothing. We're still in that same open area. They're just... gone.
Then the weird part happens. All of this was strange, but the strangest part is I see a sound notification, dunno what for, and I see a dude escape. I didn't really check the items before the match but I was so certain they didn't have a key. Whatever, I can still probably make it there in time.
A second or two after the first guy escapes, the entire rest of the team escapes at once. When escaping through a hatch, each person has to jump through, one at a time. As far as I know it's impossible to have three people escape at the exact same moment. Maybe if you all hit the button on the exact same frame or something?
Keep in mind, all four people were still alive, and despite my Tinkerer notifications, they only finished the first gen. I think maybe a second one might've gotten finished at some point? In any case, I'm pretty sure the hatch is only supposed to spawn for a full team if they finish all five gens, and they didn't even complete 3.
In my report I made it clear that they MIGHT be cheating because I have no idea, maybe they somehow glitched behind a wall or the hatch broke or something. But that really bizarre behavior before that makes me pretty sure there was some funny business going on.
And yes, I checked everyone's items after the match. No map, no key. I believe there was a single flashlight and I think a brown toolbox? Other two didn't bring anything. So I guess technically they could've found a purple or pink key in a chest, and then maybe the hatch glitched and spawned early? There's way too many coincidences for me to just let it go.
You don't need to equivocate so much. These cats were 100% hacking.
I've heard of some hacks that allow you to instantly complete gens, but I've never seen them. I've seen youtube vids of hackers who could clip through walls. They can escape the match at any point by just phasing through the exit gate. But of course mostly they'll just run around underground beneath the killer trying to be annoying.
Are you saying they're on Xbox because you're playing on Steam? They might have been PC gamers playing on Games for Windows, or whatever it's called.
-
You don't need to equivocate so much. These cats were 100% hacking.
I've seen vids of a PC hack that let survivors clip through walls. They could escape the match any time they wanted just by running through the closed exit gate. I've also heard of hacks that let people insta-complete gens, but I've never seen them.
Are you saying these guys were Xbox players because you were playing on Steam? THey might've been PC gamers playing on Games for Windows, or whatever it's called.
-
Fine, whatever. We're just trying to give you some helpful advice and tips. There's a chorus of different people above giving you support and telling you how to counter body blocking. If you're so certain that we just don't understand and that there was nothing you could have done to win that match... well, I guess you're right. That match WAS unwinnable for you.
Good luck with your future games. We'll see you in the fog!
-
The devs do deal with hackers. Not as fast as most of us would like, but I imagine they get a lot of player reports to sift through.
Allow me to assure you that as of 2k hours I've only seen maybe a half dozen hackers tops. They're always blazingly obvious about it too because they know they only have a limited amount of time to use their paid hacks before they get banned.
How do you define 'cheating' anyways?

Then what if it wasn't aura but just notification bubble, with no tell if it's killer or survivor. And maybe decrease it's range?
I Dunno. Maybe? That just doesn't seem all that useful to me, which admittedly does make it more likely that the Devs would implement it
(I'm kidding, devs. Most of the perks in the new chapter actually seem pretty rad.)

A revolving body block strategy is a thing and very viable.
You go down? Unbreakable if you're slugged.
You get hooked? DS or BT to save you.
I guess the situation is too hard to understand without having seen it. If I knew how bad it was going to be I would have recorded it.
In my case the survivor wriggles free, injured survivors run away while I'm stunned, healthy survivor stays. SWF so comms, can't move without being communicated. Can't use nightshroud because I'm watched. If I chase the healthy survivor, others heal and go do gens or chase an injured survivor that is already a distance away, have to hope to catch up to them before they hide or find a good loop. Deal with Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Lithe, Balanced Landing that extend the chase. Which allows Survivors to heal and go do gens. Get a down and repeat a similar situation. This is a losing situation that requires the survivors to have a massive mistake. Which they didn't. This was a drawn out game that was settled pretty quickly.
My complaint is that as I move up I continually run into these punishing 4mans that are very well coordinated in perks, items, and strategy. It isn't every game, but it has been often enough to realize that the trial is at the mercy of the survivors.
An irihead huntress or a killer nurse could have destroyed them, but you shouldn't have to play the most busted killers to compete. That is the essence of unbalanced.
Respectfully, please stop telling us what we understand and what we've seen. I'm a rank 1 killer main with 2k hours of experience. There's certainly players out there with a lot more experience than me, but I can guarantee you that everything you're describing is something that I've seen before - many many times. Red rank SWFs are beatable. I do it ALL. THE. TIME. While playing as a variety of killers.
While it's true that there are some games that are unwinnable - this game does have a lot of RNG that survivors can skew against you - those games are by far the exception, not the rule. If SWFs want to get toxic with you because they won an un-losable match, ignore them. That's their issue, not yours.
Mostly though, killers will always have a chance to stage a comeback, even against an endless parade of 'second chance perks' (UB, DS, BT, etc). If a survivor is going to wiggle free, leave 'em to slug. Even if they have unbreakaBill you're still wasting their time, and they can only use it once. Get them to waste it early and they won't have it later when it might have been much more valuable. Same with DS.

It's a survivor sided game. They can just get three friends, and if they decide that they want to win, they will win. It's just how it is.
You are... true to your username, sir.
I LIKE going against SWFs. Demolishing them feels so much more sporting than bullying hapless solo survivors.

While continuous indirect buffing by adding scream inducing perks is nice, I feel like original effect of perks keeps getting more and more irrelevant.
That's why I propose buff.
Whenever crow is disturbed within 24/36/48 meters see aura of killer or survivor that disturbed it for 2 seconds.
I Respectfully disagree with your suggested changes - as they're written. Being able to see the killer's aura every time they disturbed a crow would be way too powerful, considering the sheer number of crows on each map. Even if you restricted it to within the killer's terror radius you could pair it with OoO for a toxic "see the killer's aura for the entire match" build.
If you gave it a 45-60 second cooldown it might work as a standalone perk like the much-unappreciated Alert, but not as a buff to Calm Spirit, which ALREADY has two separate effects.
Plus, I already see an alarming amount of survivors with Calm Spirit in the red ranks, so apparently a lot of people like it? I don't really get it, but it's no skin off my back if survivors don't want to disturb crows.

I think I get what's going on okay! If you have all four survivors there bodyblocking, though, that means no one is doing gens. Even if you just injure one or two survivors who come to body block and then drop the person on your shoulder, every one of those health states takes time for them to get back. Even if the other three survivors just have a heal party and get the slug up, that still means that none of them are doing gens. You'll probably get another pallet or two out of the way in the meantime, and more than likely the next person will go down in a spot that's harder to bodyblock for. Worst case the three survivors who just healed try to body block again and you just repeat the same gameplay loop. If they keep doing that, no gens will get done, and they'll slowly run out of pallets and juice in their medkits.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, you do need hooks to win, but you also need to prevent survivors from doing gens. If you're downing and slugging survivors and taking some free hits on body blockers, that's still applying pressure and keeping them off gens, even if it means you have to wait longer than you wanted to get your hooks. Provided you chase reasonably well, you'll be okay! If you're having trouble chasing, that's also okay; you might just want to consider more perks that help you in the chase and maybe see if you can find any good tips online :)
This. Exactly this.
Killers like to complain about gen speeds, but it's on you as killer to pull survivors off of gens by creating a lot of pressure. This is not just accomplished by getting hooks, but by getting injures, downs, and slugs. If an entire team wants to drop OBJ to body block you should graciously accept their offer. The free hits you get will only generate more pressure.

I seem to have failed in describing the situation well. They had a rotating body block strategy with no visible work around. Dropping isn't a viable counter. I also don't have an insta-down like Billy. I have to build mine up from stealth, which they denied me at every turn.
I'm Pretty sure I understand the situation well enough. A "rotating body block strategy" is not a thing people do against skilled killers because it's just not viable. If they give you a bunch of free hits by body blocking - even if they get their teammate to wiggle free - they won't be able to body block the next hook because they'll all be injured. And they won't be doing gens because they'll all be healing to prep for the next body block.
Letting someone wiggle free in exchange for injuring their entire team is well worth it. That's an insane amount of pressure you've just generated.
And dropping a survivor if you can't get them to a hook is both a 'viable counter' and greatly recommended. Letting them wiggle free and run off to do gens is not the preferred alternative.

See, RNGesus is punishing me and has cast me into the 8th Circle of RNG Hell. I cannot seem to get Brutal, Bamboozle, or Corrupt on this guy. I swear, my Myers bloodwebs have the worst luck. I haven't gotten Thana on anyone except Bubba. Yeah, go figure.
It did give me Infectious Fright on Myers, though. Yeah, on Myers. 😡
Yo, Is that an angry face for getting Infectious Fright? Because that is hands down Myers' best perk. Virtually every high-ranked Myers and Oni player uses it.
Like Oni, you only get 60 seconds in EW3 so using your power effectively is pretty key. If you insta-down a survivor and Infectious tells you there's another one nearby just leave that slug on the ground and keep your Evil train a-rollin'. You can frequently get 3-4 downs with a single use of EW3 this way.
-
I second what Starboard said. If survivors are sabo'ing hooks or bodyblocking and you know the survivor you're carrying is going to struggle out you can just drop and slug them. It still creates pressure for the survivors, and you can usually get some free hits/downs out of it since dropping a survivor only takes a second. Knowing when a survivor is going to wiggle free is just something you have to feel out with experience.
A few days ago I had a Blendette sabo 2 hooks while I was carrying a Kate. I knew the Kate would wiggle free so I dropped her, got a free chainsaw down on the Blendie, hooked her, then picked up and hooked the Kate the second her hook respawned.
Conversely, while there's no excuse for survivors being toxic, protecting their teammate from getting hooked is good gameplay. Don't let it get you tilted.
Also keep in mind that every time you drop and pick up a survivor it fills up about a third of their 'wiggle meter'. Seems like you were doing a lot of that and it definitely wasn't helping you.
And of course if body blocks are something that especially irritates you you can always run Iron Grasp, Mad Grit, or Agitation. I recommend Agitation above the others. OhTofu (a popular DBD streamer) runs Enduring on a lot of his builds specifically because he hates getting pallet stunned. There's nothing wrong with using a perk slot for QOL reasons.
-
I've been in this situation before as killer. It's annoying as heck, but sticking with it for 2 HOURS?! Daaaaaaaang.
I'm just curious, not trying to pass judgements or anything, but how did you not find them for that long? They need to keep moving or they'll start attracting crows, so just patrolling the map and checking in unusual places (edges of the map and basement, for example), will net you a catch of scaredy survivors sooner rather than later.

Then clearly bubba's power requires a different method to counter. Perhaps not waiting for the last second to sprint burst.
It constantly baffles me that Sprint Burst users ALWAYS wait until the last possible second to start running. I know that they're trying to bait out a missed swing, but how often does that even work? Do they think slowly walking away is going to somehow fool people? Just use your sprint burst to make distance.

I have 2k hours as a killer main and even I've never seen a SWF team with a loadout this busted. I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet (I will), but you should feel no shame for losing to this team. The only way to counter OoO as Trapper is to get the object in your TR before you lay traps so he can't see it, but against 3 Objects on comms? Nah.
This is a story you can tell your grandkids when they ask you if the devs are ever going to nerf OoO.

I've had the complete opposite experience since crossplay started: high-ranked PC killers play normally and the few crossplay killers I've gone against struggle so much to get hooks that they then get very defensive.
But maybe that has nothing to do with console, maybe those killers were lower ranked. Maybe my teammates were BMing when I wasn't looking. Maybe I'm not going to judge all console players on the actions of just a few.

Franklin's is definitely not a "super powerful" perk. It's just funny to mess with survivors.
And I've found that survivors get annoyed by pretty much anything the killer does, so I just try to be nice and have fun and hope they can too.

You prestigin'? That's a lot of effort just to get your clothes dirty. I respect it.
Playing with items may be fun for you, but what's fun for killer players? For me, the only time I equip Franklins is if I see 3 or more lunchboxes (medkits) in the lobby. I just want to steal and eat people's lunches. That's fun for me. I eat your lunch!

Can you stalk in the middle of a pallet and not get stunned by it? Genuinely curious.
Good question. I don't know, but I'm going to make it my quest to find out.
I suspect you get stunned and pushed out, but it would be way more funny if you fused with the pallet and carried it with you for the rest of the match.

Freddy has no 'inbuilt gen slowdown' anymore. And his slowdown addons have been nerfed to the point of uselessness.
His 'inbuilt' counter to TR perks also works against him. He can't use perks that alter or remove his TR. If you find him stealthy because his lullaby is different from the normal TR radius sounds, I'll give you a hint: it gets louder when he gets closer.
The idea that he's a stealth killer in any fashion is laughable. So what if he's invisible from more than 32 meters away? And being 'intermittently visible' at more than 16 meters doesn't make him stealthier than Wraith. Or Ghostface. Or Pig.
Alarm clocks aren't the huge time-wasters you think they are, and are DEFINITELY not better than Piggy Hats. Running full map to get your clock every time you fall asleep is a silly strategy for silly people. You don't even need to use them. You can get another survivor to wake you up or just fail a skill check.
None of the killers in this game are P2W. Your entire argument is nuts because this just isn't a competitive game in the vein of symmetrical multiplayer games. Yes, people play competitively, but you can't compare a killer's skill to a survivor's skill. Also, every killer except the licensed ones can be unlocked for free (if you don't want to support the devs). The only reason the licensed killers need to be paid for is because of - you know - licensing.
-
It's a bug. They extended the cap for the purposes of giving everyone 250k BP. Once I spent that extra I got back to 1M BP and found myself capped there once again.

Yo, Blocking pallets as killer is completely legit. While I can't speak for the devs I feel certain its inclusion in the game is intentional. Don't get greedy with pallets, or a good killer will punish you.
A good counter example is that the Devs didn't want Myers to body block people into a corner and stalk them, so Myers has no hitbox while he's stalking. You can just run straight through him. Seems like the devs actually think about this stuff, eh?

I think he was overbuffed as a "we the license owners want this guy to sell a lot since he was crap nobody bought" so they made him the pay2win Killer in the game.
But... the best killer in the game is the Nurse and she's totally free? And so is Huntress, who has been consistently among the top ranks of killers? Pay 2 Win... sheesh.
I think they buffed Freddy because old Freddy (as much as I loved him) had some cartoonishly big weaknesses.

On the subject of the alarm clocks. Why did they even bother with that area of his power when there's litearlly no incentive to wake up against snare Freddy? If you're awake you'll have a harder time locating him because the heartbeat isn't directional anyway, just like the lullaby, but he's invisible from a certain distance in the real world and visible in the dream world.
Pallet freddy is the only reason to wake up but pallet freddy is terrible. And you'll ALWAYS lose more time going to wake up than just sticking to a gen, even with slowdown add ons/perks.
Yeah, I usually just wake myself up by failing a skillcheck. Seems like a lot of people forget you can do that. Wastes less time overall, and I don't care about giving away my location because if Freddy wants to come chase me I'm down to clown.

There's a handful of things that make his kit somewhat bloated:
- Snapping taking longer each time you do it
- Alarm clocks on big maps spawning on the polar opposite end instead of having a range limit
- BT not working against him while the rescuer is asleep (I really don't know why they did this)
- The lack of information being asleep gives you (he's basically a stealth killer due to his ambiguous lullaby)
- All of that combined with teleport + PGTW that every Freddy uses
Waking up needs to be less punishing if he's going to have the extra junk in his kit. He decimates solo queue because of how long it takes to get things done if you're not coordinated against him.
I agree with you about waking up - survivors should be able to wake each other up at the same speed all game. The devs should be encouraging survivors to keep each other awake since it's so vital to countering Freddy's powers.
I disagree with you about BT. Freddy having a lullaby instead of a TR for sleeping survivors means that they can't use BT - but it also means Freddy can't use any perk that alters or removes his TR.

Too many micro abilities on top of his two main ones. He has shock that increases madness along with a pulse that hits basically anyone and everyone even if they are half across the map. His madness 2 allows him to see where people are, and madness 3 does the same except by screaming. On top of that, his pulse has vertical dominance as well so you could be a floor above him on Gideon for example and still get hit by the ability. The only counter to him as of right now is to jump in a locker or run calm spirit. No one can just jump in a locker since they are only located on fixed parts of the map. And idk why anyone would run calm spirit for any other killer other than the doctor. A single perk should not be the counter to a killer regardless. And calm spirit is usually worthless unless you knew that you were going to face the doctor. So basically, the counter play to his current kit just isn't there. Doctor beats everyone that doesn't run calm spirit, he beats people on the pallet loop since he can make them scream locking all survivor input, and he basically has walls built into his kit.
Take into account that everything I have stated is the doctor WITHOUT even adding perks or add-ons into the equation. His base kit is too strong and there's no point in playing against him
Sorry, what now?
His shock can hit people halfway across the map? Only if he's playing with a very specific build (Distressing and double Calm addons). His static blast affects his terror radius, which is 32m at base. That's very far cray from half the map.
Madness 2 allows him to see where people are? Only when they increase in madness. Unless you're talking about his Restraint addon? Because I feel like you're not. Either way making you scream for 2 seconds just isn't that big a deal to survivors who aren't completely reliant on stealth. Lots of killers have good tracking abilities/perks/addons these days. You're not always going to be able to hide behind a bush.
As for his anti-loop abilities, they're not as powerful as you might think. High ranked survivors are pretty good at playing against him. Just stop trying to stop at pallets/windows when you're stunned. He gets slowed down while shocking you, so go for another lap around the loop.

How fair is it that killers have a perk that can be used to knock a survivors item out their hand and we have no perk that do the same to their add ons?
There's no point to use the White Ward offering if they are just going to hit it out your hand and doesn't save it if the item isn't in your hand when you die.
It needs to be a change that disables Franklin's Demise for the survivor that uses the White Ward offering.
I thought survivors wanted more counterplay. Isn't this what that looks like?
Killer addons and survivor items aren't really comparable, to be honest. And even if the killer uses Franklin's to steal your lunchbox you still have 90 seconds to get back to it before the entity eats your lunch. And even if you do lose your item... maybe it's not that big a deal? Items come and go. You're not supposed to be treating them like a hoarder.

Freddy used to be my favorite killer to play as. I don't think he's as powerful as most people believe, but I do think he could use a partial nerf. Allow me to explain:
First off, I think the reason most people hate Freddy is that he's so easy to exploit by weaker killer players. Sort of like bad killers facecamping with Bubba. Everyone hates that, but that only makes the player bad, not the killer they're playing. I've never played Forever Freddy because he is objectively the worst Freddy. Thankfully they've nerfed the crap out of his slowdown addons. They're basically worthless junk at this point.
As far as his sleep mechanic, I don't think it's an especially powerful mechanic as it really only makes you susceptible to his traps. As I've said, his slowdown addons were nerfed into obscurity. People complain about his 'terror radius' while asleep (it's actually a lullaby) and how it negates BT, but any stealth killer can negate BT and Freddy's lullaby means he can't use any perks that alter or remove his terror radius. Also, if you want to bomb the hook for a BT save just wake up first.
As for his teleportation, I think it's the absolute best part of Freddy. It's the thing I never want to see changed. Yes, the BBQ/POP combo gives you some of the best gen defense in the game, but keep in mind that he has a 60 second cooldown after he teleports. It's not a power he can just spam. But even better than teleporting to gens and POP'ing them are the mindgames you can play with him. I can't even tell you the number of times I've struggled to catch a really good survivor, seen their aura on BBQ, teleported behind them, and walked straight up to them from behind for a free down. Or, hook someone, fake a teleport, then watch which way survivors run with BBQ.
Finally, his traps. These are the things that I would nerf. Survivors get a bit histrionic about his snares, saying that all you have to do is spam them for automatic downs. That's only true against survivors who try to keep running the same loop against an anti-loop killer, and even then you do actually have to put some thought into your trap placement. Not a ton, I'll admit, but - y'know - some. Certainly more thought than the survivors are putting into looping the same pallet over and over again. The changes I would make are to give him a bit of slowdown while he places them - like Clown used to have - and add a bigger telltale so that survivors being chasedd can see where he's putting them.
And that's it. Sorry for the wall of text. Now savage me with your criticisms.

I play almost every killer, but I play a LOT of Hag. She's my most powerful killer by far.
More powerful than Spirit.
More powerful than Nurse (although I'm pretty bad at Nurse).
More powerful than Freddy.
Yeah, I said it. And I don't play a "campy" style. I don't trap hooks anymore because it's mostly just a waste of a trap. I trap routes that survivors run and then funnel them into it - not unlike what a good trapper does. The difference is that Hag traps have a much larger set-off range, will spin your camera around and disorient you if placed smartly, and don't need to be 'fetched' like Trapper's traps.
And for those of you saying Hag loses to SWFs: nope. She does not. She has a tougher game, sure, but her ability to snowball all 4 survivors into the dirt is unmatched by any other killer (except maybe a really good Oni). She doesn't fear flashlights either - a flashlight can only destroy your trap if the survivor holding it can see your trap. If you play deviously and place traps smartly they never will.
And that's what I love about Hag (and about playing killer in general). It's not about having the best reflexes or KBM skills or being the fastest no scope headshot in the West (there's a reason the only two killers I don't play are Huntress and Slinger). She's all about playing smart and being a cunning, underhanded bastard of a player. I like that. And Hag likes it too.

What is a space coconut? Is it like Astronaut Ice Cream? Because I love astronaut ice cream.
Why won't the devs actually listen to people and give us astronaut ice cream?

considering you are going after a recently unhooked survivor why do you get so mad after getting flexed on with the decisive head on combo?
Killers get mad about this? Sure, you get stunned for 8 seconds, but afterwards the survivor is DS free and exhausted. Plus half the time they miss the Head On stun, so they're just kinda screwed. If survivors wanna goof, let 'em goof.
Whenever I see a survivor jump into a locker to force a DS stun I take them up on it. Just know that you're declaring open season on getting tunneled later in the match. I normally don't tunnel - even against teams that don't bring any DS at all - but if you throw your anti-tunnel perk into the garbage can early in the match I figure it's fair game.
-
My standard Legion build is Blood Echo, Dark Devotion, and one of the pins as an addon. Make them broken/mangled with the pin, then give them exhaustion, then give away your terror radius. I call it the Magic Legion build, and I usually sing Queen's "It's a Kind of Magic" the whole match.
You need to combine Legion's tracking ability with information perks like BBQ/nurses and your own game sense, but I occasionally get gen grabs. As Legion. It's just...
It's just a kind of magic.

I played 5 games today, 3 out of them was only camping, tunneling and slugging with the match ending with less than 20k points for the killer and ~10ks for the survivors.
Why on earth are killers able to view the survivors profiles pre match but we survivors have to deal with those kind of killers and can only see the "warnings" written by others about their playstyle after the match?
Either hide profiles for everyone or lets survivors see the killers profile as well. Why are only killers allowed to lobby dodge by being able to see the items survivors bring or watching their steam profiles?
I don't care if you look at my profile just as long as you don't see which killer Im playing until it's already too late :)
I just want the ability to switch killers in the lobby turned back on. If I'm trying to play a weaker killer like Wraith or Piggy and I see a known SWF group pop in I want the ability to switch to a stronger killer. And if Im trying to play Bubba or Trapper and I enter a lobby with 4 Blendettes Im gonna want to switch to someone with better tracking. Stop locking me into killer roles, BHVR, or Im likely to stop playing low-tier killers entirely!

Y’all lil murderers <3
Wondering if you feel the same way,
Do you ever need to take breaks from DbD?
I’ve always had issues with the stress playing killer all the time can bring. But i also thrive for that satisfaction after a good game or a 4k.
However i’ve started to notice after those heavy games i find myself hesitant to queue up and go next? Say after 2-3 games.
Or i’ll switch up to a more fun killer and actually enjoy my games rather than actively trying so hard.
I solely play nurse, even pre-nerf which broke my heart a little <\3 but it was a needed change and she’s more than fine, however when i play Legion or Pig i actually have more fun? Idk.
Wondering if anyone feels the same way at times?
Stay Spooky<3
I feel the same way. I've taken weeks or months long breaks when the negativity and toxicity got to be too much. I keep coming back because the feeling you get when you dismantle a sweaty SWF is pretty great, and even better you'll occasionally go against survivors who just appreciate going against a skilled/devious killer and will tell you so in the post-game chat. I still try t spread positivity every match, because I want to see more of that and less of survivors who DC instantly because they think Doc is boring or who t-bag you from the hatch even though their team didn't do a single gen.
When I wanted to destress as killer I used to play Legion, Doc, or Freddy (both old Freddy and reworked). But I've recently discovered my new favorite fun-time killer: Bubba.
-
This may sound weird, but I think survivors need the ability to shout "Hey!" or "Psst!" to each other. I can't count the number of times I've been running behind an injured survivor trying to flag them down to heal them - or get them to heal me. Meanwhile they're booking it to the corner of the map to self-care, totally oblivopus of the guy right behind them. The only thing that ever works is clicking a flashlight, so we need a loud gesture to get people's attention.
Unless y'all think that would be exploited by toxic survivors in the same vein as flashlight clicky-clickers?
-
Despite what cranky survivor mains will tell you, it's not a surefire strat unless you perfectly time every shock for several loops in order to catch up - which takes a lot of time. A better strat is to shock just a bit too late so that they can drop the pallet, but then get stuck on one side of it. Predict which side they're going to drop from, shock from that side to trap them against the pallet, then smack 'em good and hard.
-
You can hear her footsteps and see her rustling grass/corn/reeds. Her broken glass lights up when she's phasing, so you know when she's faking and when she's not. You hear a whistling sound when she phases in from outside your terror radius so she can't sneak up on you.
Oh, sorry. Was that not enough telltales?
Killers have to "guess" what survivors are doing every single game when they disappear behind walls and we lose LOS. We call it 'making reads' and 'mindgaming', and a lot of us have gotten pretty good at it. It's stepped up our survivor game too, because we understand what the game looks like from the killer's perspective.
I guess when survivors have to do it they call it "no counter OP plz nerf or I DC".

Stop posting that video from Tru3.
It's completely irrelevant and logically flawed. His "counter" is "guessing" - when the Spirit herself, when equipped with the correct build (which is meta for Spirit players), doesn't need to guess. Tru3ta1ent can also be quoted as saying "All I go against are tourny level squads". He's incredibly biased and thinks WAY too highly of his average skill.
Guessing isn't a counter.
You say "guess", I say "mindgame". It's not a guess if you're reading your opponents moves.

No you will see the video and when you do make sure to tell.me what you would do in that situation mother daughter ring and the amulet plus stridor and a good headset and a mori an ebony.
Oh, you failed to survive against [X] killer when they were using their best addons and a mori? I guess [X] killer is just totally unbeatable. Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, but you need to understand that 3 examples do not constitute ironclad proof of anything. Your sample size is too small and is skewed by a killer that's stacking powerful addons/offerings (and shame on them for doing that). And as said above, even if you were right it wouldn't prove that Spirit was uncounterable, only that YOU can't counter her.
You haven't posted the vid, so I can't comment on it. Here's some tips on how to actually beat Spirit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19fyTS63bQ4Tru3's not my favorite streamer, but his advice here is on the mark. He's got a whole playlist of him outplaying Stridor Spirits that you can check out.
But my best advice if you want to get better at playing against Spirit, as always, is to try playing her. Learn how she works from the Killer's perspective and what the limits of her power are. I guarantee once you start seeing high-ranked survivors juking you you'll get a good idea of what to do when you next play against her.

Luckily, they are making offerings to cancel out a map offering. That way if you think you might be playing a 4 man Seal Team 6 SWF, you'll be able to cancel the offering.
Yeah, the tryhard SWFs really ruined keys for everyone. I mean that sincerely.
I think keys are always annoying, but then I think the same thing about moris.
But yeah, it's totally different when a 4 man SWF brings a key and stop doing gens the moment the hatch spawns to get their free key escape. There's nothing you can do about this short of masterminding the game to keep gens up and survivors alive so that the hatch never spawns, which is not always feasible.
And of course they're usually going to tbag you at the hatch, because we all know that not doing OBJ is the truest measure of skill. I guess they're just the better players.
I'm trying not to sound bitter, because it's easy enough to roll your eyes and move on to the next match, but hot D*** do survivors love tbagging at the hatch. It's been happening all the time since crossplay and I just don't know what they think they're proving.

if I press M2 again with every third grunt that Bubba makes it will consume another stak and keep chansawing? I'm asking because I played him twice and all I was doing was chansawing the old way and could never use more than one of his stacks. sorry if I'm late to him, haven't played a lot recently lol
Yeah. Exactly what you just said. Press M2 during your chainsaw to consume a stack and refill your power meter. Ideally you press M2 just before your meter runs out to get the maximum amount of distance.
This is ROUGHLY every third Bubba grunt. It takes a bit of practice, but it's not too hard.
I really love New Bubba. He's pretty legit scary, and survivors (myself included) are still in the habit of underestimating just how long his chainsaw can last.

It's way too easy to reach red rank. But that might not be a bad thing. Imagine if all the red rank games were filled with 4 great survivors and there were no weak links. The games would be rough for killers. Especially when green rank killers now are still getting Red Rank Survivors. (I'm a Rank 9 killer right now, and I get Red Ranks in my matches way too often.)
I mean I'm proof that it doesn't take much to reach them. I'm rank 4 and I'm not particularly good. I can't loop for anything. I do gens and totems, and I try to make smart saves (sometimes it doesn't pay off if the killer is particularly tunnely) Rank really is just a matter of play time, especially on the survivor side.
As a rank 1 killer I would be pretty okay with this. It can be frustrating to lose to good teams, but it's not as frustrating as easily crushing team after team of lower ranked survivors. I actually like playing sweaty and busting my butt to get the win - when I'm playing against skilled opponents. this is why we need a working MMR.
You want to see a truly braindead EZ killer? It's not me playing Spirit against rank 1 SWF sweaty sweatmeisters. It's me playing Wraith against purple rank solo-q's.
-
If you're talking about the 30 second chainsaw runs that people were doing in the PTB, naw that mostly got nerfed. You can still KINDA do it by stacking his pink addons, but then only if you pinball between survivors like a psycho chainsaw Legion. Which... actually sounds pretty rad.
I've been playng a lot of new Bubba with no addons, so his chainsaw does last for around 5 seconds (give or take). I hate to ask the obvious question, but are you timing your chainsaw charges correctly? You should be pressing M2 again with every third grunt that Bubba makes.
-
I play quite a lot of Legion, and I do well by him. I would not rate him as a top tier killer on the level of Oni. He can be very weak.
But hey! Folks! I read through all these comments and amidst all the talk about M1 killers I saw not a single reference to Legion's other ability: When he hits people in Frenzy, he sees the location of all nearby survivors (even in lockers). I know 'good information' is not as sexy as insta-down chainsaws or cross-map hatchet throws, but that kind of info is EXTREMELY useful to a killer with a devious mindset.
Survivors refusing to heal and just rushing gens? Give the obsession a little love-tap with Dark Devotion. Then use all that sweet, sexy information you've been collecting to quickly down the rest of the team. Slug your way! Into a 4k! Today!

Spirit. No counter. IW is countered by Stridor. Every game is the same. Hook. BBQ to closest target and/or proxy camp hook. You can't evade an invisible killer coming at twice your speed. Totally broken. Devs don't give a #########.
Pyramid Head. Broken AF. The ranged attack is too fng strong. tight spaces, through walls, corners... just pull out the ranged attack. Camp hooks and get 2 for 1. Nurses on Pyramid Head and increased range addons may be the strongest combo in the game. Broken af. Devs don't give a #########.
Doctor. In this case, just retire the fng doctor. It's not that he's too strong. It's that he is hands down the most annoying, unfun killer in the game. Look at your data. I guarantee more quits against doctor in early game than any other killer. You just scream all game because of static blast. Any sort of stealth is worthless. And good docs also ruin the only counterplay we have by shocking you so you cant throw pallets or vault or heal others. Half the time you face the meme build of an indoor map with distressing / huntress / overcharge / unnerving presence. How is this in any way fun for survivors? WORST KILLER IN THE GAME. RETIRE HIM.
I personally think that the devs are seeing how far they can go in screwing survivors since they want to push people to play killer. Soloing is a garbage experience since matchmaking will forever suck and you have at least a 50% chance of getting bad or quitting teammates. Solo against one of the killers above and how much fng fun do you think that is? The only reason survivors are tolerating this situation is because DBD is the only serious asymmetrical game in town. But I, and many many others will jump ship SO FAST when there is a decent alternative that doesn't have 1000 glitches, favor one side, and charge $10 for a gd skin.
Calling the Doctor annoying and unfun isn't an argument - it's an opinion. All of us have killers we dislike going against, but most of us don't rage around in all caps when we play against them.
And... oh look! Another 'Spirit has no counter-play' argument. Rather than re-litigate this AGAIN I'll just ask you this simple question: Is it possible that the reason you think Spirit is so OP is that you've never actually played as her before and don't understand how her power works or what its limitations are? Because the Devs keep stats on games, and if Spirit had a kill rate substantially higher than normal they would've addressed that.
This is a game. If you're not having fun, why are you here?

Try bringing a flashlight instead and click at them to get their attention. Works aces for me.

Harsh, bruddah. That's some primo salt right there.
Half the time I get rage like this I don't even know what I might have done to merit such treatment. The other half of the time it just seems way out of proportion to my percieved crimes.
"Oh, did I slug you once to create map pressure? Guess you'd better report me for holding the game hostage."
I always try to respond with respect and positivity. Mostly because I want to see more of it in the game so yhat everyone can have more fun. But also partially because nothing pisses off these ragers more than when you treat them with respect and kindness.
