  • I have had games where two survivors were left and we still escaped. It wasn't common and was due to an MMR quirk the times it happened in my opinion (inexperienced Killer, two new survivors, two experienced survivors) but it can happen.

I'd also rather try than hide. More BP overall due to not wasting my time and the sky won't fall if my video game avatar dies.

Just hiding is incredibly selfish and hurts your teammates.

  • Unpopular opinion; Killer is not as frustrating and unplayable overall as people say it is and neither is solo survivor.

  • VHS suffers from balancing around the top and too many restraints on Monsters.

If you balance around the top and the experience is so miserable for new players they don't stay then you can't retain players.

Monster is not fun and far more stressful than Killer in Dbd to the extent that maybe 10% of the queue actually queues for it. This has led to the huge Teen queues and essentially no MMR which decreases the retention of new players as well. If you cannot get enough of the 1 role in the 1v4 queued the game will end up in crisis.

While I would like to play it as a side game there needs to be substantial changes to Monster and the new player experience if it is survive.

  • I agree with @dugman . Play the meta game. When playing M1 Killers I've had quite a few games where I had 2 to 3 spread out hooks by 2 gens left and I've won. What I did have was a tight 3 or 4 gen with lots of dead zones.

Similarly, as a survivor if I see a Killer trying to set up a 3 gen I try as hard as I can to break it.

My Adept Bubba was on Lery's against decent survivors. I was at 2 hooks with 2 gens left and managed to get a 4K with 11 hooks.

It can be done. I'd also add learn how to track survivors by sound. You may not see the survivor behind the wall but if you can track them by sound you can win the mind game.

    Hopefully that helps

  • I am a mid MMR survivor who makes claims of semi-competence but I agree with you.

Who knows maybe i like Jokes?

Maybe You should feel a little embarrassed for trying to fight with me in a chatroom where people share their personal idea

    Think about it

I'm not fighting I don't believe you are either at this point. It's more likely you're trolling which would be a well done troll.

  • I know BHVR doesn't like giving dates but it would be helpful. The info gap is a major reason for the delta between SWF and solo performance.

It's hard to tell if your post is ironic because people complain about literally everything. Heck, I still don't know if Sluzzy's posts are serious. You pointed out that most Wraith players use NOED. I can neither agree nor disagree because I rarely face them.

Perks: CoB, Overcharge, Eruption and Bamboozle (<--- there are better perks, but it's a QoL thing)

    AddOns: Swift Hunt, Shadowdance

As long as I'm not playing against a well-coordinated team, it's an autowin.

I understand; with some of the posts it's hard at times to tell if it's humor or not. If you see my threads you'll find many of them are humorous (well, funny to me at least). Feel free to look at them from my profile if you would like some bad humor for the day.

Perhaps you should read the rest of the thread first.

Sounds like some kind of bug. NOED is actually supposed to be Wraith's basekit, so you would be playing at a severe disadvantage without NOED.

Exactly. It's sort of like that bug when frosty eyes are equipped and the Killer gets an invisible wall when hooking a survivor that prevents them from moving more than 8 meters from the hook.

  • DH is a really well-designed perk now. I never thought I would be uttering those words but here I am. This is a you got outplayed problem.

dont you see discussion about reassurance and soloQ?. But this is not important for bhvr.

I do see discussion. However, I see a lot more threads with just general complaints. I'm hoping BHVR just released Reassurance as is since they were being cautious and will buff it later as they have done in the past.

To get that point across I think it would be better to have threads asking for the range to be increased and the duration to be extended to about a minute. Or people could suggest other anti-camping ideas.

The devs aren't going to revert 6.1 nor do I think they should. I really like 6.1. However, anti-camping tools are still needed as well as more information for solo survivors on what their teammates are doing. My opinion is that calling for that would be more helpful than doomsaying threads.

    Skill issue vs Game issue!?

As you can see my points speak for themselves. The fact i was the only escape vs Nurse speaks for itself. Even if you remove the 7k points from escaping, i'm clocking above 24k points, more than my team mates and even if David Escaped he'd never get to my points.

IF any of these survivors Pipped which i have to believe they didnt then there's a big issue here and i doubt it's my skill. The Nurse Pipping and even double Pipping might be a thing and i'm very ok with that. But the fact i'm 1 Pip away from Iri1 and i just had this match and didn't reach Iri 1 is silly to me.

The survivor with Self Care but without Botany Knowledge got the least points. Color me shocked.

Reassurance doesnt work from the floor above I don't think, so it wouldn't help here.

It does work from the floor above. You do have to be right over the person and, for some reason, it won't work in basement but I have done it on the Game and Midwich.

  • The problem with generalizing statements is that, as in this case, they're false.

I'm having a blast with solo survivor and escape just a bit over half of the time. I'm not saying you're not having issues or denigrating how frustrating it would be but there are lots of people playing solo who sincerely enjoy it.

I think you would have more success getting a dev to listen by doing something such as asking for Reassurance to get a buff or solo survivors to get some way to get an idea as to what the other survivors are doing (eg icons or a chat wheel). Saying solo is unplayable will probably be ignored as it's not true for a lot of players and is just noise while suggesting positive changes should come have a better chance of being heard.

  • Predict, look at the corn moving or use aura reading perks. Aura reading is obviously the best.

As an aside, I find the cornfields to be far less problematic than the Swamp. The Swamp is hell.

really because if you look at the wording for Wiretap and Kindred it seems like it should work that way

It does 100%. However, the devs have confirmed that Wiretap is an exception and haven't updated the description.

If you're not sure why it doesn't combine run Kindred and Open Handed if you haven't already, see how much info you get, and then imagine that for most of the match on multi level maps.

  • @ImNotBobDylan said:

Yeah I have the same bug when playing Bubba. I think it's some sort of weird network problem because I've noticed the affected survivor loses connection just after.

Yeah, I've noticed it's even worse on Bubbas. It's like they hook a survivor and then can't move; only spin in place until the survivor dies or this glitch causes a connection issue with the server and the survivor DCs. Strange bugs indeed.

  • The issue that I see with you calling for nerfs is that you’re essentially like Usain Bolt with the Nurse. You being able to figuratively run so fast doesn't mean the metaphorical high school athlete should start their race with a handicap.

For balance they would have to take a look at your performance overall versus other survivors of your skill level. Unless you're willing to sit in queues that stretch for hours I highly doubt that would be possible to measure.

Balancing for the top is not a good idea in anything where your revenue comes from participants as opposed to spectators. I'd rather see buffs to survivors and more anti-camping tools than any nerfs to any Killers.

I definitely why you'd be bored though. Realistically, outside of the comp scene, I don't see the possibility of you getting any challenging games with Nurse.

  • There's a major complication with differentiating a skill issue from a game issue; if you knew what you were about to do was the wrong decision would you have done it?

That's why self reflection is important. If you knew it was the wrong play to begin with you wouldn't have done it. It's only by looking at it in hindsight that you can hope to see the mistakes.

I think this is more of an ironic post than NOED complaint.

    Definitely called it.

  • Susie simply because she's the most likely to let me leave the date alive.

  • I actually do all of this except for rule no. 1...

  • Discordance, Call of Brine, Darkness Revealed, and Floods of Rage. I generally use Worry Stone and an add-on that makes Nightfall come quickly or just add ons to speed up Nightfall from survivors being injured and staying injured.

I do stealth hit and run just as @dugman mentioned above. As soon as Nightfall comes I start downing survivors and usually slugging them if I can keep on locating them. If I can't see another survivor, or Nightfall is just about to end, I start hooking them.

Also, I never walk anywhere if I can teleport to it instead. The more teleports, the more Nightfall.

  • It's optimal to help your teammates survive until all the gens are done. I'd say it's also optimal to not let anybody go down two hook stages at any one time.

The reason so many people try to tunnel is taking one survivor out early makes it much easier to 4K before the gens are done.

It doesn't always work out but if I haven't been hooked or only have been hooked once and I'm close to the Killer chasing someone on death hook I'll body block the Killer incessantly until I'm dropped if at all possible.

While I sometimes get abandoned it works out that overall I escape more often than if I didn't do that.

I'll also hook trade against camping Killers because, if the other survivor returns the favour it's often a 3E or 4E.

Being selfish and not helping your team until at least all gens are done is a great way to get killed lots. At only 2 gens left it can be possible but difficult to finish them and get out with 3 survivors At 3 or 4 gens left and only three survivors you'll only get out if the Killer makes lots of mistakes.

  • I'd rather have three teammates running AutoDidact then one running Self Care without Botany Knowledge. At least objectives will actually get done instead of hiding behind a rock for half the game.

Besides, if you run into a Wesker with Coulrophobia AutoDidact can be a huge help if you can hit the skill checks.

  • You meditate while doing things. Terrible jokes aside, I have no idea either.

  • When I'm playing Killer and I see somebody one hook even though I'm deliberately on the other side of the map since I'm playing for hook states. It's a really terrible experience to one hook, especially when the Killer isn't anywhere nearby, and then I generally move from playing for hook states to playing full bore against the survivors that abandoned their teammate.

  • I've gotten up to seven or eight. It's time dependent though. Usually, I'll get that on weekend mornings (NA West server). Then, after my MMR has presumably risen and it's the weekday I'll lose up to seven or eight in a row.

If I play late at night as survivor I'll often get slammed a lot since the Killers seem much sweatier and also better. When I have a weekday off and play during the early day I'll lose a lot because my teammates are clueless overall. Any other time seems normal.

It seems when I play influences the level of competition I get.

Okay, but why do you want a bunch of players running Self Care and nothing else? That's just cruel and unusual :'(

One instead of Self Care is a Freudian slip. It refers to either the maximum number of survivors expected to escape a trial while doing this challenge or the maximum number of generators expected to be completed while doing this Tome Challenge.

seriously, when you have actual capable teammates who do gens when you're chasing the killer for 2000 years, or don't go down in less than 20 seconds, It's actually a really nice game and 90% of those types of games leads to a 4 man escape.

Yeah, as an example last night I got tunneled off hook and the Killer downed me just as my DS was about to run out. I then DSed the Killer and ran them until after my OTR timer ran out and I started making injured noises (Endurance was obviously long gone before the DS). A bit after that I went down and got hooked for the second time.

I don't know the exact time but I'd guess roughly 2 minutes from unhook to halfway through second stage which is when a gen finally popped. I unhooked myself with Deliverance so nobody even had to come to rescue but, for roughly 2 minutes with the Killer focusing on just me, no gens popped.

We didn't lose because the Killer tunneled; we lost because people didn't do gens. In games where gens pop under this exact same scenario It's quite often a 3E or 4E.

  • @Kirahie said:

On US West killer qs are almost always less then 2 minutes (except at like 4-6 am)

This is exactly my experience as well (same server). I think I had a Killer queue over 5 minutes once. My Killer queues have lengthened but all that means is that I actually have a queue instead of just being almost automatically placed in a match. Queues are still fast for me.

  • I very often bring brown medkits and brown toolboxes without add-ons. It's just to get them out of my inventory and I like Killers running Franklin's. It gets the clicky clickers to stop trying to annoy the Killer and actually touch a gen.

  • My crazy response to experiencing this is just doing gens and ignoring heals. It's sort of like when I'm playing against a Legion that uses their power effectively or a Plague that vomits on gens. If I'm not going to keep the health level, why heal anyway?

At least Wesker isn't running slow down or chase perks with the build which the Legion or Plague would be and can't get a super attack that can hit you while you're not in line of sight like Plague does.

In my opinion, a Wesker with this build is better than Legion but not as good as Plague. It's a gimmicky build and there are still survivor perks such as CoH, Bite the Bullet and Auto Didact that lessen its impact.

There is this pretty widespread, yet absolutely ludicrous notion about survivor mains, that killer mains only play killer and suck at being survivor. Most killer mains that I know play 30-50% survivor, because, well, thats half the game. I know that many survivor mains only play with their friends and are indeed ignoring the killer side of the game, but the other way around is pretty much non-existant.

I would bet that Otz, Dowsey and CoconutRTS, although Killer mains, are better at survivor than over 95% of the survivors on the forums. They're just really good at each role.

  • It's the survivors' fault. It may not be your fault individually but it's still on the survivors as a team. It's just one of the coordination issues that solos need an icon system to deal with.

In the meantime, I like Blast Mine or Situational Awareness for herding my teammates to me. Blast Mine also has the gen go yellow so using it calls the teammates that are usually always fix the first gen in line of sight to it. If you do equip Blast Mine think of pairing it with Residual Manifest so the Killer can't see gen or hook auras for 30 seconds after kicking. Otherwise Situational Awareness might be better for this purpose.

Another strategy, if you don't want to use those perks is to equip Deja Vu (not mandatory but helpful) and bring a toolbox and, as soon as you can, slam the worst gen placement at the beginning. The Killer has more area to patrol and feels less pressured at the beginning so, for example, on Haddonfield, if the two street gens get done the remaining gens are pains to patrol and in strong tiles. The game is now heavily slanted to the survivors but if the street gens are two of the last three gens it's now heavily slanted to the Killer.

If the Killer is trying for a three gen from the start, just worry about one of the three gens from the beginning. Hopefully, someone will come help you or get chased by the Killer so you can finish one of them and break the three gen.

For low mobility Killers, many maps are just too large to patrol and the only shot they have at winning, if the survivors do gens, is to focus on a tighter area. Break it at the beginning and your chances of escaping rise substantially.

    *Coulrophobia

IDK, seems to be a popular Whiskers build atm; Coulro, sloppy, distressing & unnerving = more, faster skill checks with small success zones while healing slower. But. You get used to it after a while.

I like Coulro, Sloppy, Septic and A Nurse's Calling as an alternative to that.

  • If I can give an opinion you played right into their usage of Reassurance by staying there camping. They wasted their Reassurance by hiding around in the bushes instead of doing something else, going for a hook trade (assuming they weren't on death hook), coordinating a bodyblock or trying to lead you away so the second could save.

To be honest, when I'm on a hook and see two survivors just hiding nearby on a hook, I'm more annoyed because of the other survivors. I don't hold it against them because they could be newer and scared but there comes a point where inactivity becomes the worst choice. Either do a hook trade or leave me and go do a gen; just sitting there gives a 4K instead of a potential 4E (with hook trades) or a potential 3E or 2E (with doing gens).

To get to your question, though, no, you aren't. You were annoyed and camped when it was a misplay to do so but why care? It's a video game and everyone has off days. Unless you loaded into matches with the intention of just making the other side miserable then, no, you're not.

  • Reassurance can be helpful but it needs a range extension or duration extension. Right now, there are too many other perks that are far more useful to run it.

  • Nobody else thought this was funny?

  • I had a game with two survivors with Reassurance. While I died slowly, both decided to stay on the other side of the map on the same gen. Very effective usage of that perk on their part obviously.

They equipped it though so I have seen it on someone other than me.

  • I got some use out of it but it's not a good perk. The range and duration should be increased. Hopefully it's like basekit BT where they started out overly cautious and will buff it soon.

  • Wesker doesn't feel that strong when I verse him. I haven't played him yet and people are still learning his power but, currently, I think he's B tier; maybe low A. I have lost to him a lot today so far but the majority of the losses come from survivor mistakes (letting people go down 2 hook stages; getting 3 genned etc, not doing gens whenever possible, etc) rather than the Killer actually doing that much. On one game, for example, if Wesker chases me for 3 minutes or so and in that time not a single gen pops the Killer isn't the reason we lost at 4 gens left.

  • @Peanits said:

Friend, we're gonna need some more constructive feedback than that if you want any chance of it being addressed. Eat less toenails is not enough to go on.

Have the Entity ban toenail clippers from its realm. Problem solved.

  • Whenever there's a big spike in new players doesn't tunneling and camping increase and then die back down a few days later? That's my experience at least

It's also a little bit worse, in my opinion, since people that want the adept Rebecca and Ava achievements won't be running OTR and exhaustion perks. That'll level off as well once people have the achievements.

Honestly, since the change to 5 seconds base endurance I have seen almost no BTs on other Survivors (I am still running it).

I expect that there will be even less BT-Users when it is 10 seconds of base Endurance.

I've only seen one or two other survivors with it since the change as well. I sometimes run it but that's with a BT, Guardian, NOLB build because, especially if the unhooked survivor has SB or takes a hit, I find it humorous to see how fast the unhooked survivor runs with that combo.

I alternate between calling it my 'Run Forrest Run!' or my 'Run Barry Run!' build depending on if I've watched The Flash recently or not.
