I noticed you didn't mention Spirit on the list of Killers you play. It helps if you can hear the breathing and guess position by footsteps so you can cut the survivors off but, if you haven't played a decent amount of Spirit, there's a learning curve. Knight is nowhere near as effective as Spirit but there's a skill cross transfer there.
I also use the power to sandwich and as a utility measure. I find him fun and stronger than, say, Clown but weaker than Huntress.
-
My Killer queues are short to nearly instant but I also play Survivor earlier in the day and Killer later on at night (this timing coincides with the incentives).
Things are more balanced now whereas it was very survivor sided before with pre 6.1 DH and release CoH. Eruption is an issue though and needs tweaking.
I get a lot more DCs on Plague, Trickster, Myers and Pinhead than I get on Nurse, Twins or Blight. Nurse, Twins and Blight see as many DCs as everyone else for me while the ones I mentioned above see a lot more (Plague especially).

This begs the question if we are to consider this a team game or a solo game.
If this is a team game than you are responsible for your weak link and have to protect it. The Killer finding the weak link and exposing the flaw would thus be a good player taking advantage of a situation against a team.
If this is a solo game than I agree with you and the idea is bad.
I see what you're getting at and think that it would be great if the game was SWF only. The problem is solo queue. Solos quite often shaft their own team, mainly accidentally but sometimes intentionally, and this would make it worse.
-
OTR, Deliverance and Sprint Burst helps. If you find Killers still down you after within 60 seconds put on DS in your fourth slot. If, by targeting you, the Killer doesn't throw the game then there's a matchmaking issue.
-
Close to 50ish. On many days it goes in streaks where I win tons followed by a day where I get curb-stomped.

I understand why people hate getting 3-Gen but even if the Killer decides early to protect it or Survivors make the mistake a 3-Gen is beatable.
Now I do hate Eruption but what I hate is the status effect they either need to remove it for another effect or cut the time in half so it's not as bad. By changing that little bit, it will make that combo not as potent.
I agree. With a change to Eruption a 3 gen would be a lot more beatable. It can still be hard and a lot of people hate it but, realistically, a large part of the Killer roster has mobility issues, are okay but not great at chase and rely on defending a small area in order to win if they aren't going to hard tunnel and camp and a 3 gen, Eruption notwithstanding, can be beaten. And, in the majority of 3 gens, it was the survivors who did it to themselves.
It's just that incapacitated status needs to change. You can't really hit different gens to pull the Killer off if the Erupting Call Of Overcharge means all 3 gens are regressing uncontested since nobody can tap and if you don't press a close 3 gen hard enough someone will get downed the Killer might be able to pull off a 3 gen with no or only one gen regression perk.
-
1. Add 20 seconds to each hook stage; make it an extra minute on the second stage if the survivor that was just hooked was also the one that was just hooked last
2. Add a gen repair speed debuff for each unique survivor that was just hooked and this debuff becomes a repair speed buff when the survivor is killed.
3. Rework maps and Killers as a combined package with an eye to how Killers actually operate. As an example, the number of visual obstructions and LoS blockers are inconsistent on maps which affects versusing Nurse, Thompson House is a nightmare for Dredge while Midwich is a godsend, and most Killers struggle with map size while on others it's just a minor nuisance.

PE can definitely break a 3-Gen IF the survivor KNOWS how to use it. I personally used it to break a 3-gen with another survivor with prove thy. It also is great to bypass Tinkerer
It was a build (and set-up) stacked specifically to bust a 3 gen but I came in with PE, Hyperfocus, Stakeout, a Commodious and a BNP. Just as soon as a survivor was picked up I started a gen in the three gen from zero and, while I didn't time it, it was roughly 25 seconds to finish the gen from start to finish by myself. If you hit both skill checks on the BNP I think it's a maximum of 34 to 35 seconds to do a gen with PE and a BNP (((32÷1.5)+13)=34.33). That's 45 charges right there with 20 from Potential Energy and another 25 from BNP.
I brought it specifically for when I was doing Outbreak:Breakout since I grew tired of my teammates doing the gens on the outside and the Killer either being smart enough to patrol the 3 gen set-up in the lobby or my teammates three genning us the majority of the time.
Definitely risky, item intensive, requires a lot of set-up, Franklin's hurts bad and you only have one shot at it but it's very good at busting a three gen.

Back when matchmaking was a bit goofier sometimes I'd get newer players who couldn't pressure generators or were in a case where it was impossible due to killer perks. If you dwindle a team down to two survivors unless they're willing to be gen grabbed and picked up and slugged until they bleed out there's no way for a survivor to really do anything if the generators are close enough. Granted the only way to truly hold the game hostage is forcing survivors to constantly miss skillchecks and picking them up so they don't bleed out. It takes a lot of effort on the killers part just to do this.
Holding gens hostage when there are 4 survivors though I'd have to see it to believe it.
Yeah, I don't see it either except for Doctor repeatedly shocking. The survivors might be unwilling to die and the Killer might be unwilling to leave the 3 gen but, in that case, both sides are responsible a la the old Hatch standoffs.
-
Other than bodyblocking and Doctor how does a Killer hold the game hostage? I'm curious since, although the situation would suck, just stay on a gen and keep going back to the gen. You'll either bleed out or the gen will get finished. Is it hacks to keep the game going after EGC?

No. People shouldn't be rewarded for quitting a match.
The OP is asking opinions on if the people who didn't DC should get more than 600 BP as compensation for having put up with a DCer. I just think the survivors who stayed shouldn't have the possibility of depipping.
-
I'd like a fictionalized version of Elizabeth Bathoroy as a vampire instead of Vlad the Impaler myself.
-
I do want tunneling and camping nerfed and I 100% agree this would lead to buffs to Killers. Perhaps chase buffs or a similar effect to Dying Light where the gen slowdown disappears once a survivor is killed?
-
Getting a three gen from the start might have been the Nemesis' only real chance to win. There are multiple Killers that suck at anything but patrolling a small area due to the size of the maps and their low mobility. We'll, that or they can camp and tunnel.
In solo, I've had some luck beating it by bringing a Commodious, BNP, Built To Last, and Potential Energy (or a bit riskier Potential Energy, Stake Out and Hyperfocus with a Commodious and BNP). The only way to bust the three gen strategy is to bring something really good at doing gens and then busting it early. Of course you have to time it well because as soon as Eruption goes off your one chance to get it is done (which is, once again, one of the ways that Eruption hurts solo more than SWF).
If you'd like advice figure out where the three gen is and hammer it early. You'll either break it so the game is winnable or die early so at least you're not stuck in a 45 minute match. Until Eruption gets a rework that's probably your best bet if you don't want to waste time.

No experiences with post-game chat as I'm PS4 main, but what makes survivors 'toxic' in the eyes of the killer? T-bagging? Waiting last second to leave door? I'm not going to fully disagree with what you're saying anyways as it wasn't really the point of the post. I'm just talking about the past few days feeling very toxic, and sure, survivors included.
Taking post chat out of it teabagging at pallets and waiting at the end gate to taunt the Killer. I see people doing that far more than I see Killers hard camping and tunneling which I don't consider to be toxic anyway but an overly effective strategy that BHVR needs to change.
-
@gchiasson said:
Been playing this game on and off for the better part of a few years, but really got back into it with my gf early this year.
Throughout the whole time we've been playing, there's obviously been some levels of toxicity. Especially from the killers side (don't say its both sides and that they are anywhere near equal) but the past two weeks have been the absolute worse. Idk what update, or whatever happened but the past two weeks are brutal.
It is every. second. game. Genuinely the only time we've won in the past two weeks is for two reasons; a) the killer lets us win. Fun holiday version of the game, the killers find it funny to be snowman, it's all fun and games and enjoyable on both sides or b) the killer is very new to the game. Cannot land a hit, doesn't really know how to break pallets, just overall you can tell they are new to being killers or something. When the killer tries? We have lost every single game, or maybe a handful (up to 5) games in the past week (where we usually play around 5 games per night).
It's the toxic levels of this game. The killers have repeatedly slugged, they have repeatedly camped (don't get me started on the Knight) and they have consistently tunnelled. It is damn near every single game.
You can tell that the 'style of play' the killers are using just to win a game is ruining the game as well. Teammates don't even try to get people off the hook anymore and god knows I haven't been trying either, because we'd all be dead anyways. It's getting impossible to even find lobbies, we are waiting the longest we have ever waited since getting the game just to find a lobby. Idk if it's the player count or what but this game is breaking because they give the killers too much room to be toxic, and if they are going to be toxic, they are allowed to be REALLY toxic.
As someone who does actually play both sides 50-50 I experience more toxicity from survivors than I see from Killers even after taking the 4 to 1 ratio into account. The only way you could say that Killers are more toxic is if you're completely unacquainted with playing Killer.

I've been having fun playing Tier 1 Myers and only attacking while being a snowman. :D
Here was one such scenario from the survivor's POV.
I tried that. It was a blast. Thank you for mentioning it.
I've also started playing the Holiday Krampus at least once a day again. I use the Krampus skin for Trapper and good survivors (ie those that don't teabag) get to escape after I farm with them (today the lowest points a survivor had was 32K) and I play a flan or streamers that I have saved up for this event while the bad survivors (ie teabaggers at pallets) get sacrificed for misbehaving. It feels thematic at this time of year with the Krampus skin.

Why. Im having fun. So since your not having fun because of me, that means I should get banned. That means that camping and tunneling should also be bannable.
You know that's not a good comparison. If you won't play a full match don't queue up in a team based role.
-
The bots can be incredibly realistic. As an example, to see what they would do I stayed close by a hook on the second last bot. The last bot only got of his locker and ran for hatch after the bot sacrificed its teammate for a better chance to get hatch. What better imitation of at least a quarter of solo queue could you get?

No I read the statement just fine. Maybe I find it fun to run around and sand bag survivors. Thats the play style I like. Either I can say I am responsible for everyone else in that match, or, I am not responsible for anyone else in that match. There is no in between.
Intentionally sandbagging is bannable. Repeat DCers should be banned from the game as well.

Never did I say I was mad. Frustrated, absolutely. But, Im not responsible for anyone else fun, right? So, if Im not having fun, I have to suffer through an entire match just so others can have fun? That sounds like such a great idea to me.
You're misreading the statement. Survivors aren't responsible for the Killer's fun and vice versa. Survivors are responsible for not screwing over the other survivors. If you sandbagged survivors intentionally over and over you would be doing to them exactly what your ragequitting does.

I'm not talking about consideration of the other side, though?
I'm talking about consideration of your side. The survivors. Your three teammates who you just put in a much worse position by putting them in a 3v1 super early in the match. That is why you shouldn't ragequit whenever you see a killer tunnelling, because there are three other players who aren't being annoying to you that you are putting at a huge disadvantage by leaving.
100%. A rage quitting survivor isn't hurting the Killer. They're hurting the people who are trying to help them while rewarding the person they're actually mad at.
-
It's 100% ragequitting and it has a negative effect on at least 3 other people in the trial. If you don't consider that you're being a terrible player in a team based game and need to either improve or play single player roles.
-
Just to state it directly, you rewarded the Killer for tunneling by DCing. That encourages the Killer to tunnel more.
-
I followed survivors around in a snowman while they did gens to see what they would do when all of them grouped up and went 'Wait a minute, there are five of us here'
-
-
Sometimes. Other times what I'll do is make sure to only have one survivor hooked at a time, run to a part of the map where nobody is, let them unhook, repeat and let the last one either take hatch or open the gates.
If it's just one baby survivor with multiple experienced survivors I'll kill the other three and let the baby survivor escape.
-
There are counters to it. The issue is the skill floor for the counters is much higher than the skill floor to facecamp.
That's why I want to see significant buffs to Reassurance. Some people argue but SWF but if SWF is already coordinating Reassurance well enough the hook states are taking 2 to 2.5 minutes per hook state camping is ineffectual anyway and by not buffing Reassurance you're just hurting low MMR players which is were the biggest issue with facecamping is.
Reassurance should be buffed or hook stage times should be lengthened by at least 10 seconds per stage.
-
You have to listen for the footsteps and predict. It's similar to what you do with Spirit without MDR but less effective. I like the Knight but he won't be a top tier Killer.
Camping hooks is useless with his power once you start hitting survivors who understand the Knight unless you're a facecamper and there as well (not judging if you are). Wait for guard to detect you, unhook while the guard is setting standard, guard despawns. You wasted maybe one or two seconds of the survivor's time in exchange for tying up your power.

I honestly can't see how anyone playing solo could have an escape rate of 45-50% just now?
Unless you're playing a build that you basically don't interact with the killer at all & run multiple perks/items/add-ons that allow you to escape at the end via hatch or gate it's statistically impossible. You would literally have to play every game very selfishly & try your hardest not to interact with the killer.
DCs/hook suicide must account for like at least 30% of a solo queue players loses. So that effectively means if you didn't have to deal with DC/suicide you would probably be in the region of escaping like 75% of the time with a current escape rate of 45-50%.
In September I recorded all of my solo queue games and had a 45% escape rate. I didn't exclude any games including those where my teammates DCed or gave up on hook. I haven't recorded any data recently but it doesn't feel like anything has changed that much except for I see Eruption nearly all the time now.
The link is below if you don't think I had a 45% escape rate, I didn't interact with the Killer or I played very selfishly. I included the builds I ran as well since most of them weren't meta but were still fun builds. Solo queue definitely has problems but it is possible to do decently. I find a lot of the issues though are caused by people focusing so much on how they perform on a micro level (eg Killer chases) they forget that there is a macro level (not 3 genning yourself, being efficient at working to an escape, etc).
If you think it'll help take a look. I'm not a streamer but rather someone who just plays for fun so my experience may be more representative of the typical experience.

AKA A semi-competent rise to Iri grade
I have no idea if anyone is interested or not but there is a lot of discussion on the forums about whether or not solo queue is playable or not. I'm in the camp that says solo queue feels fine. However, it's hard to know why someone says what they do unless you can see at times. As such, I made a list of 75 games and recorded them as well. I used both meme builds and serious builds as that's how I normally play.
My escape rate was 45.33% so a bit lower than what it feels like normally but still in the ballpark. An average of 3.85 gens were done per game (not all me obviously, this was by all survivors) before I either escaped or died.
Please keep in mind that I think, but have no way of verifying, that I'm mid MMR as a survivor. It felt a little bit rougher this month than others but part of that could have been that I rushed for Iri grade instead of taking my time as I normally do. I'm also not claiming that anyone else should feel their games are fine but a good question is why are they not fine? Expectations? MMR? Region? Strategies?
The list of the games is right here. It also has the video title and the start time in case anyone is interested. If you just want to see the raw data it's right here.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/X41QEFY9HMOA/dbd-stats.xlsx
If you want to see the videos keep in mind there's no editing as I've never shared public videos before. Also, I have some good plays but you will also see me make a lot of mistakes, panic at times, and completely misplay the situation. As I said, I'm not a streamer, I don't claim to be good and I consider myself a middling solo queue survivor. Realistically, so are the majority of players and if anyone does want to see a realistic view of what survivor looks like for me take a look.
I'll post a link to the first game I was recording and you can just check the others from there. The build descriptions are in the info section of the videos and they are the only public videos I have so they should be easy to check from just clicking on the icon for my YouTube.

I see your point - but, based on egc I sometimes observe as killer, what survs notice in SoloQ is also very limited. There were a number of times where survs started blaming each other / one particular member because they thought they were doing nothing, when I could assure them said someone was either in chase, doing gens or was otherwise being useful - but they just didn't get a chance to see it.
Which is another reason why I think action-icons for surv are absolutely necessary; is in chase, does primary objective (gens, gates), does secondary objective (chests, totems), is in healing action (being healed or healing), is in locker, is afk. - Those are the most important ones imo.
It is limited and it's quite often a case of lack of game awareness as well. As an example, I had a game a few days ago where someone accused me of not doing anything and abandoning them at end-game. I pipped up at Iri off of that game so she obviously didn't see me doing the gens, unhooks or my time in chase but it wasn't a case of thinking either. She was a pretty good looper and was looping the Killer and the other two survivors were hooked and we got a 4E. So, if all the other survivors except me are hooked how do you think they got off of hook? Nobody abandoned anybody.
Or, in another game a little bit before that, the other survivors were rescuing hooked people right in front of a Blight. I end up wounded and on death hook but get the last three gens done and the gates 99'd. At this point the other survivors get downed so I thought 'well, I'm wounded having never been healed since the second hook and I could just open the gates and leave but, what the hell, I'll see if the odds favour me'. The odds didn't, the Blight nailed me just as I was about to unhook one of the presumably SWF, and we all die. The SWF tries to say I lost the game but it's no, your hook swarming and being too busy messing with the Killer to heal me did far more to lose the game. Honestly, I should have just left as there was almost no chance of me pulling off an unhook but I tried.
You don't see 100% what's going on so there's no point in people attempting to lay blame if the team loses. Things happen and it's not a big deal. It's a video game afterall.
-
I hate to say it but if enough people are buying the cosmetic for BHVR to get the desired return on their investment the price is justified. It's not an essential service and they are a business. They might make more money by lowering the cost and getting a higher volume but that's a different argument.

look survivors don't wanna let go of the gens so they complain and BHVR nerfs that's the whole premise of this game, you complain about the thousand strong perks survivors have, and apparently nobody agrees
That's kind of a straw man though. I do play both sides and I thought pre-6.1 Dead Hard was an abomination and complained about it multiple times. I also think Eruption is over-tuned right now against solo survivors and could use changes to correct its problems (eg blocking the gen instead of incapacitation). It is possible for more than one issue to exist at the same time.

Why can't people deal with the fact that people leave games that aren't fun when they are supposed to be.
Not everyone is playing this 24/7 as a sweatlord, a lot of people just want to have fun and if they're on survivor getting tunnel facecamped in a deadzone or getting bullied by a SWF as a killer then they will use that DC button that the devs put there for you when you press escape.
Also I see just as many killers DC'ing in my matches and in YT/Twitch, but the topic is ALWAYS thrown at survivors.
I see far more survivors than Killers; Killers are more likely to just afk.
But I have a few questions for you. If a Killer DCs what happens? No depip for the survivors, no teammates to be let down and a 5000 BP event for escaping. If a survivor DCs what happens? Probably a depip and most likely a 4K since your teammates are now left in a situation where the odds are far worse when they didn't do anything other than expect their teammate wouldn't just up and leave since their teammate agreed to play the game normally when they clicked ready.
You seriously can't see the difference between the two?

I just had a match with 7 hooks at 5 gens. You're telling me I should stay in that match and not let go on hook? The game is over.
I'm saying you should consider your teammates and not give up. What do you gain by giving up? Nothing. I'm also adding if you're burnt out you should consider taking a break for your own health instead of playing and getting more burnt out. If, overall, you're not having fun which is reducing your ability to handle in-game inconveniences why not take a break and play when it becomes fun again?
It's entertainment, nothing more. If it's overall not entertaining you're not doing yourself a favour by not taking a break.

A 3v1 at 5 gens isn't winnable in Solo Q.
I'll loop for what I can but I'd rather go next and try to get a better match-up.
I suppose I'm just a sympathetic person. I dunno.
Then how about the person who's pipping up at Iri and wants to turn a bad situation into a safety pip? There's a small chance to win at what you described, very small but possible, but a much better chance to not depip at least if the match lasts seven minutes. At a 3v1 that's possible but a 2v1 is basically hoping the Killer is nice enough to take mercy. By looping for what you can you're helping your teammates which is awesome but if someone just gives up then even the hope of getting a safety pip is probably gone. Why wreck someone else's progress? Get whatever BP you can, try to learn what you can, and at least you know you didn't intentionally wreck someone else's day.

I'm saying I consider it when I'm getting a horrible experience and I really don't blame people for leaving something they aren't enjoying.
I do blame them because other people are counting on them. If it's something like they're trying to give the last person Hatch then that's a considerate thing to do and that's cool to see. However, if it's we're facing Pinhead or I got tunneled or something like that then stick it out for 5 or 10 minutes instead of wrecking the match for everyone else.

I agree with your mentality,if all survivors we're with a positive mentality, there would be no intentional dcs at all.
Thank you. People shouldn't DC for anything less than RL issues and I think saying it's because of tunneling and camping is an obfuscation. I don't tunnel or camp and I still see multiple DCs when I play Killer. As an example last night the third survivor I hooked DCed while there were four gens left. That game was very possibly winnable for the survivors and the two other survivors I hooked were the same; I hooked and then left to patrol gens and/or find a different survivor. So three hooks spread over three survivors, the Killer leaving to another part of the map, one gen done, and the survivors working on two other gens. Tunneling and camping had nothing to do with that DC and I typically see DCs like that in about a third to 40% of my games.
-
I like the idea of a buffed Ruin with the same it deactivates upon the death of a survivor or current Ruin losing the Hex requirement myself.
Old PGTW was pretty decent as well for its time but would synergize too well with current gen kicking perks.
One of the issues is that it's similar to playing Clown versus Nurse or Blight. At some point in facing increasingly skilled survivors you're going to hit the point where you lost because of the mechanical limitations of Clown versus Nurse and Blight. As you face increasingly skilled survivors you're going to need more gen control and you'll hit the point where you lost because you didn't bring enough to slow gens down.
Until info and chase perks are buffed to be comparable time wasters to gen control I don't really see that changing.

I will be selfish when I see a completely hopeless game. I probably won't DC but I'm not going to try when I see a mismatch. Why would I EVER invest myself in a match like that?
Am I going to DC after being tunneled for the 6th time that night? Dunno. But I'm going to seriously consider playing a more enjoyable game rather than not be able to play the game.
Whenever NMCKE comes back you can ask them. I had a 5-gen chase the other night (Shattered Square) after the Killer decided to try to tunnel me. Still died but everyone else escaped,, I thought eh, that's a W. Then I keep getting tunneled. Suddenly, it isn't a W anymore. They and my other friend tried to sacrifice themselves for me, didn't matter. The Killer wanted me gone and the held a 3-gen for 20 minutes. Nobody wanted to play that game and I decided to just get off.
Go ahead, sue me for getting sick of that #########.
You said it yourself; go play something that's more enjoyable for you until you're less tilted and can play normally. I'd like BHVR to nerf tunneling and camping to the ground and give Killers chase buffs and incentives to hook multiple times but until that happens you don't have the right to wreck the match for other people because you're upset because you got tunneled.
If you're that tilted finish the match, log off, tell BHVR your feelings, play something else or do whatever you need to in order to cool off but don't wreck the match for other people that haven't done anything wrong and are counting on you.
Edit: Unless you are in a 4 person SWF. In that case, that's between you and your friends.

"Survivors in general don't DC because of tunneling, etc (specific survivor players yes, in general no);"
Seems like you're sorta making a statement encompassing the entirety of the Survivor playerbase.
That, in general, you are being selfish if you DC? Unless you queued with a 4 person SWF that is 100% true. As soon as that ready button is pressed you agreed to play the game as intended and the other players are expecting you to play as such. If you DC you just sabotaged your entire team and made it much harder for them to accomplish what they want to because of your personal inconvenience. That's a perfect example of selfishness in most cases.
I say most for the same reason I said specific. If it's for health reasons or real life concerns, hey, stuff happens and that's far more important than someone doing a tome challenge. But if you DC because you don't like the Killer or the map or your ego is hurt because you got beat in chase that is 100% completely and unequivocally selfish and saying but Nurse or but tunneled is just an attempted excuse for being selfish. Anyone who does so is a terrible team player and needs to either play Killer, queue with a 4 person SWF or not play a game where other people rely on you.

Who actually runs that combo
I do for fun and/or stun challenges at times. I also 100% expect that I will be bled out and accept that is a likely possibility as soon as I equip Flip Flop and Power Struggle. Bleeding me out if I'm under a pallet is 100% the right call for the Killer. It's just one of those perk combos that you should expect it if you equip it.

Honestly, I imagine for some, it doesn't affect them so they don't get why it would affect others. I don't think they're intentionally misunderstanding the issue or anything, they just don't experience the FOMO issues and figure everyone else should be the same and are just making excuses for why they fail to control their own wallet.
You see this kind of thing in politics and in life all the time where someone has a different view because they've never walked a mile in someone else's shoes and therefore blow off their concerns.
I agree; other than saying people shouldn't get mad at specific people (the mods) for something they have no control over I have no opinion one way or the other. It doesn't affect me but I also don't get to dictate how other people react or are affected by issues that don't affect me.

I’m someone who is impatient and I don’t like to wait to earn shards to buy stuff so if I want something I’m just gonna use the auric cells and get it. 😆😆But I can still see the issue that people are bringing up.
Those are some pretty good points. A contradictory message was created by not mentioning that there would be time exclusive cosmetics at the same time it was announced that shards would be used on all of the original characters outfits. I think it's human error that caused it but it definitely did not help.

Bold of you to speak for the entire Survivor playerbase.
Perhaps you missed the part where I said specific survivors. It's the second sentence if you read that far before responding.
-
Selfishness because they don't care how their actions affect others. Survivors in general don't DC because of tunneling, etc (specific survivor players yes, in general no); they DC because they don't care how their actions affect their teammates and any amount of personal inconvenience for them is too much despite how it affects others.
I don't tunnel, camp, etc and I only two hook survivors if I see a survivor played streamers or a flan. Even then, on games where I've decided I'm going to farm, I still see DCs even though the survivors are going to escape. BHVR needs to really strengthen the penalties for DCing.
-
I think, ironically enough, the outrage at the FOMO would be a lot less severe if BHVR had let all of the Auric cell only outfits stay Auric cell only instead of making them purchaseable by shards. It created an expectation that all outfits for original characters would be purchaseable by shards when that was not the intent. I understand because it does seem contradictory to say all outfits for original characters will be purchasable by shards but not say except for seasonal or event related items at the same time but that's more likely to be an oversight or a timing issue than a deliberate marketing ploy.
Getting to the OP though, why would the moderators get involved? They'd be descended upon like a pack of wild Karens on a cashier trying to explain why the extra pumpkin spice squirts cost extra. The mods didn't make the decision and while people feel free to express their opinion there's no reason for people who are uninvolved in the decision to catch flak.

It's actually pretty easy to turn me friendly. And by friendly I mean farmer 90% of the time and memeing at the other 10%.
(a) The Survivors bring streamers or flan. Flan makes the Killer full and happy and BP make me happy.
(b) You played RPD. As long as you play RPD as opposed to it randomly shows up I'm assuming you want Outbreak: Breakout and that's acheivement is hellish enough I'm happy to contribute.
(c) You obviously just want to meme; you're a bartender in Dead Dawg or running the cash machine in AutoHaven.
(d) You ask for mercy. If you're having a bad run of losses and just need a break I empathize. Whether it's that or you want an achievement I'm happy to help. I pip up fast enough as Killer it's not going to hurt me to get some extra BP helping you farm.
(e) You're the last survivor. I nearly always give hatch or gate.
However, if you teabag at a pallet you die. Just you though; unless the other survivors become collateral damage in taking you out because they're just running too much interference and, in which case, everyone dies if needed. Flashlight clicking I don't care. Head Ons continuously? I'll let you farm Head Ons on me. You got a pallet challenge? I have literally emptied the Game of pallets before from survivors who turned me friendly. But teabag in a disrespectful manner? You're done. You're simulating a real life action that has problematic implications so everything else goes by the board.
Other than that I run pretty chill in normal games as well. I alternate hooks so it's not possible for survivors to die before the 5th hook and it's normally the seventh or eight hook, if I have three slugged I don't hit the fourth and just start hooking so the survivors get a chance to play and get some BP themselves and I don't camp either. It's more fun for me that way as well.

Survivors countering this perk by pointing instead tbagging
Pointing doesn't have the real life history or implications of teabagging.
