Same. I do bones before starting gens. Some survivors just do gens and don't bother with the totem 2 feet from them. Somehow, I can break 3 totems and still get clapped by NOED.
Cuz they wanna gen rush so bad

I don't take it out on anyone. I have my moment of "OF EFFING COURSE THEY'RE RUNNING NOED" and how my team are idiots, die as a result of this garbage perk, and move on to the next game.
There is an easy solution to all of this though: Make it give the Exposed notice when Endgame triggers, AND make it only come into effect when all 5 generators are powered. This brings it more in line with more of the perks, and less frustrating to go against. Considering it is a basic perk, and not a teachable, there is NO reason why the perk should have that much power, especially since it's activation requirement is basically "be losing".
As far as I know, there are currently two effects that hide the Exposed status: NoED and Devour Hope. One of which requires work, is a teachable, and only has one "active" totem.
There is a reason y it was basically supposed to counter adrenaline you know that one perk that makes u the flash, full HP of hook, get off the ground for free and still be the flash and there is no counter to that unless your an insta down character/add on or you have NOED.

Red rank survivor main, and obvious survivor advocate (๐), and I agree. NOED feelsbadman, but there's not really anything wrong with the perk. It is counterable. And there are ######### situations that make countering it less possible without additional survivor loss, but alas, it be like that sometimes. There are far worse aspects of the game I'd like addressed. Especially considering how whiney killers are about their precious Ruin. At least 50% of my opinion that NOED is fine is literally just not wanting to hear Killer mains cry about it constantly in these forums. ๐
But if they nerf ds or adrenaline u would be one of the survivor mains crying u r probably one of them survivor mains crying about map changes.

So I am going to get a lot of salt here from a lot of killer mains I feel like but here goes...
Am I the only one who finds that mori's just make games short and unfun?
I feel like Mori's need to be changed to second hook phase. The reason I say this is a majority of killer's who, after hooking someone, instantly tunnel for that mori kill. Adding another hook phase will add more chase and it also may make the games last longer depending on their skill. It makes it a challenge like it should be. So far mori's just aren't fun and ruin game experience for well--survivors and sometimes killers. I find as killer that Mori's are just an ######### thing to use and they make MY playtime short and unfun. Please change mori's or at least consider it? It's not fun, it's short for everyone at times. I understand dailies and getting kills by a killer's hand but that person should work for their kill not just hook someone once then get the kill. That's so aids.
Another cool thought that someone had was Mori people after all four survivors have been hooked, this one I am iffy on because sometimes that's not possible! Skill is a thing a lot of survivors have and I understand it's hard.
Please make it to where you have to work for the Mori.
I am by means not on any side. I have played enough of this game to enjoy both sides. Thank you. I am open to discussions, feel free to comment your thoughts.
In my opinion the ebony Mori should let you kill one survivor off 1st hook if u want then after that the rest hast to be second hook

I get theres ways to counter it but who the ######### is actually gonna cleanse totems during high ranks no one and I know ruin got nerfed because it was overused but how the ######### is it any different from NOED hex:ruin wasn't that difficult either and i know someones gonna comment saying cleanse totems but who the ######### even tries now it wastes time and most of the time you cant even find NOED and queuing with teammates is literally the worst because they don't even do anything correctly and its a horrible combination with blood warden I play on switch not that many people play dbd on it so we queue with the same people i was with the same people and the exact same thing happened and You can use perks to cleanse totems but honestly im not sacrificing a perk slot for a perk that shows you the indication of objectives. either that they remove the speed bonuses and make the speed 4% slower and show the auras of survivors who are farther away from exit games. either that or remove it completely and if someone were to comment remove adrenaline and DS well those perks are really easy to counter. If you know a possible adrenaline player pick them up before the gen pops or literally equip Blood warden.
DS is easier to counter just slug them and if they have unbreakable just hit them again because there injured and not that many people run unbreakable so just slug them.
FYI Adrenaline might need to get rid of its Speed Boost Totally agree with that but Don't remove it
and DS when you stun the killer your aura will be shown to the killer for 4/5/6 Seconds when fully healed
Ik you didn't just say adrenaline is easy to counter when there is so many situations where the survior gets off hook full or say your huntress you hit someone down with a clean shot far away last gen pop he up running like the flash or say you hit someone thru a window or say you legit just hit someone last gem pops he full HP basically has sprint burst plus the speed from getting hit. DS sometimes counterable sometimes u can't afford the slug plus people use ds for the most toxic plays that killer can't do anything about it. But yet u wanna complain about a totem that doesnt effect till end game. Maybe if u surviors didn't wanna gem rush so bad get ya damn faces out of gens for a second and do totems ya wouldn't have to complain about it so much like jeez. So glued to gens don't look for totems, there is way more than enough time to look for totems. If they take out no ed there would be no end game pressure.

regardless of everything said here, I just would like to mention that that could just be the mindgame, lets say the ramp up of speed is more subtle and would not immediatly give it away (also come to think of it, this suggested NoeD idea would partly remove its endgame perk status) then having a Hex Totem next to it might be one of those things that throw survivors off from assuming you have it, which then might work to your advantage.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1218323#Comment_1218323
Same as what I just typed, I agree but at the same time the fact that certain killer have build in 1 shot abilities making NoeD seem silly might just be the thing that makes people assume you dont have it, which then gives you immense power in the endgame.
Well that sounds like that's there probably not the killers. They shouldn't have assumed

I've never seen anyone call a killer bad for waiting out a 360 but I guess that's a thing now. I have had it happen to me though. I go for a spin and I just see the killer back up slightly, wait a moment and proceed to down me. Couldn't stop laughing at how dumb it made me feel.
I'm surprised u haven't some people would text me in end game chat calling me Trash for respecting or when I'm on console they get in my dms saying the same thing. Hell even in custom games they would get pissed and leave cuz of it lol
-
@ZoneDymo said:
wait, what is respecting a 360?
A survivor runs infront of you, then does a loop and maybe a bit more around you when you are close enough, then proceeds to run away in some direction that you have to find and follow again.
Close enough for a hit again, the process repeats, how do you respect it? do you just not hit them ever and just follow them around not gaining anything?
No basically u take a step back and watch them run around in a circle. Doest waste time for real and most people will 360 then dead hard.

So what I'm hearing is u want him to be the next legion? U get no reward for shooting a survivor when there injured so I would legit have to basic hit u? Thats so dumb this comment is dumb y would I want no reward for spearing a injured survivor ๐๐ he is just like huntress with the whole window thing if she lines up her shot she will "100%" hit u too. This is exactly why I hate playing as a Rank 1 Killer. Have to play with these kinds of toxic people both in game and in endgame chat. You either kill everyone and get belittled for being sweaty or using brain dead killers, or you kill no one/1-2k and you get insulted for having no skill. This is not the first time I've gone against these people and they've been reported before but still haven't gotten held accountable for this. This is aggravating and is exactly why people depip purposefully all the time. No one wants to play fun killers like Pig, Nurse, or Plague (I used Demo this game) and prefer to use Freddy, Doc, or Spirit (brain dead killers apparently to the community) because of the toxicity at this high level.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/185/B5RPNN6D5O0C.png
Now I've had my fair share of toxic killers but not as frequent as this. Mainly because instead of 1 killer, it's 4 survivors so it's more common to see.
U can't win with survivors in the end bruh u kill them all they get toxic and call u cra, if u lose they still get toxic and call u crap there is legit no way in winning with survivors. I hate when people say killers r toxic but 9/10 who really be saying crap in end game chat y do u thing #salty survivor(s) is a big thing its far to common for its own good. Killers can be toxic too but thats less common survivors just need to take a chill pill you die/won just go about your business que up for another game no need to text.

You won't find a rational explanation for it, because there isn't one. Essentially, people don't like feeling foolish or inferior, and for some people, being outplayed in a game makes them feel that way, and so they project their feelings of ineptitude and inadequacy onto their opponent(s) to make themselves feel better. It's childish and stupid, but there it is.
I like the point you make it makes alot sense people should just understand u got out played and call it a day. At the end of the day its a game that shouldn't effect u in real life but ig it does.

And why not? It just seems that every time I ask, my question goes unanswered. "Just keep the hatch. It's fair and balanced." How? There's a bunch of things that survivors have that give them extraordinary power over the killer, that they really don't need, and hatch is at the top of that list for me. I kill survivors 1, 2, and 3 but the 4th one has a chance at a free escape. This is a horror game, not a horror movie, so why do they have that in common with this game?: A survivor getting away for NO REASON other than them being the last one.
Let's be honest they take hatch out survivor mains gonna lose there brains then devs will just bring them right back unfortunately hatch will never be out but I also think that if u kill 3 survivors and by chance no gens was completed they shouldn't get rewarded for free escape they didn't do anything but I do understand if at least most gens was completed.

A lot of what im reading is victim bias, we see it happen ALOT in other media and it shows here too. Its easier to bully killers and tell them how awful they are for running cheap perks, builds, killers etc... And the hatred from survivors flows hard for killer mains. Its because survivors see themselves as victims not players or survivors.
"The killer attacked me and tunneled me out of the game hes PLAYING UNFAIR NERF HIM"
Yeah some killers definitely try to hop on the woe is me train, but everyone backs up the survivor mains (including the devs) because they have carefully set themselves up to not be viewed as a toxic player that they likely are, but as a victim that the killer is abusing even though 9/10 you are looking at surviviors bsing in post game chat. Teabagging constantly, spamming items.
Survivor mains, if you want fair games killers are more than happy to oblige, but once you start being rude and try to blame the killers for your poor gameplay then deal with it. Its like others said before me in this thread. Survivors got babied for so long they the devs are trying to fix some og the most broken problems, and we seeing the survivors entitlement show.
I just wanna make this whole thing a poster or sum cuz this is so true.

'Hatch tech' is wrong, can we agree? It's not even a tech, it's a game breaking exploit. Robbed kills for the killer, free escapes for survivors. Just make it to when a survivor DCs and there was only 2 of them left, hatch doesn't spawn.
Hatch is a feature that shouldn't be in the game anyway, it's so dumb. Is it too much to ask for my hard work to be rewarded? Why does getting down to 1 survivor give them a chance at a free escape? They lost!
Bottom line: DC 'punishments' are not and never will be enough to discourage DC exploiting. Just remove the stupid hatch mechanic and so many problems, including this one, will just disappear.
I hate hatch as much as you do but honestly taking out hatch would be dumb if its the last survivor taking it put would be dumb. But in your situation that if a survivor dc so there teammate can get hatch is also dumb they shouldn't get rewarded for a dc just ######### on hook. But they don't need to take hatch out the game completely.

Nerf in gen speed was needed also literally isn't that big of a different didn't they take like 5% off when 2 people on gens? A lot of people thought Deathslinger was going to be Pinhead because of the chains, but it wasn't. Now, people think it will be Candyman because Tony Todd followed BHVR on Twitter.
I think it's best if we just wait and see!

I'm talking about a whole NOED rework. No instadowns anymore. After the gens are done, if three or more survivors are alive and every survivor got hooked at least once, five totems spawn on the map. All of the totems are visible for the killer and the survivors. As long as at least three of the totems stay up, the exit gates and the hatch can't be opened at all. That's it. Would give setup killers like trapper and hag some lategame viability.

I love this idea, gives an extra boost to the killer in eg for performing well but not being able to completely finish the job.
The change that I want for it is that it has 30 seconds of use, and each time you hook a survivor you increase this time by 15 seconds.
That wouldn't work most chases r more than 30 secs and u didn't account for the time it takes to knock, go thru animation, and find a hook to put them on.

That's a survivor problem, not NOED being OP or "badly designed" problem.
It's just like the people who complain BBQ always finds them while doing absolutely nothing to counter BBQ and then bitching that it's too OP despite the perk having eight ways now to both counter and soft counter the aura reading aspect of it.
NOED is only as good as survivors allow it to be. BHVR has added perks like Inner Strength, and significantly buffing the amount of points totems reward when being broken to try and encourage people to do totems, but they still don't do them because they still rather opt to do generators in less than 5 minutes and get out and then complain about the perk when the perk designed to heavily punish that kind of behavior indeed punishes them.
๐๐๐ preach glad someone said it not even OP all u have to do is totems.

Yeah, would prolong the match wouldn't it? Another condition could be, that at least three survivors have to be alive for it to activate and the totems are shown to killers and survivors.
R we still talking about the 1 totem or your 3 totem thing because both r unfair for killer. Killer would have to patrol doors, hatch, and toem(toems if 3) and killers is at disadvantage because its just one of him and three survivors who can get doors and totem at the same time even hatch if they have key.

Yes I do believe adrenaline needs a change, perhaps if you're in chase with the killer you don't get the health but you do get a speed boost?
I feel like u shouldn't get full health state on hook and at least a 10 or 12 sec wait before u get the heals but I do like your idea too I hate hitting a survivor them going thru animation the last gen gets popped and they back up running like sonic them I have to go thru the chase again its annoying.

Noed has been a controversial perk for quite a while and I've been thinking of ways BHVR could change it to " balance " it.
Instead of being able to one shot ALL survivors, make it to where only survivors that have gone unhooked will have the exposed effect. Keeping the speed boost obviously or maybe even slightly increasing it for more versatility against survivors who have already been hooked.
This was just an idea I've had, so please tell me what you guys think.
Ok so if every survivor was hooked that game then its just the same totem perk that gets destroyed if people do totems. So the killer would just one shot everybody still and if they nerf noed nerf adrenaline too while they r at it

Movement speed - 4.6 M/S (115%)
Power: Gate Polls - The Gatekeeper has 8 Gate polls in his possession. Placing down a poll takes 1 second, but picking one back up is instant (plays an animation but doesn't interrupt movement). Polls will link to the nearest other poll within 12 meters. If a Survivor moves between 2 linked polls they will be snared, making them scream and slowing their movement speed by 0.8 M/S(20%) for 3 seconds. Whenever ANYONE passes between 2 linked gate polls the Gatekeepers is hasted, increasing their movement speed by 0.6 M/S for 3 seconds. The speedup and slowdown effects do not stack, and the timer will refresh if you pass between another set of polls before the slowdown or speedup ends.
Passing between linked polls does not break the link. Polls will remain active until the Gatekeeper specifically picks it up.
The Survivor will not continue screaming if they stay snared by linked polls. However the slow will be continuously reapplied until they leave. If a Survivor goes 3 consecutive seconds without touching the same link they will scream again from that set of polls. Other sets of links have separate cooldowns for the scream effect.
Since each poll links to the closest poll, that means 3 polls nearby will create 2 sets of links, and so on.
The polls themselves do not have collision.
Addons
Brown
- Increases Poll link range by 2 meters
- Gatekeeper has 2 extra polls
- Placing a poll is 0.1 seconds faster
- Survivors snared by a link will be blinded for 60 seconds
Yellow
- Increases Poll link range by 4 meters
- Placing a poll is 0.2 seconds faster
- Increases the haste duration when the gatekeeper passes through a link by 1 second
- Increases the snare duration by 1 second
- Survivors snared by a link will be oblivious for 30 seconds
Green
- Increases Poll link range by 6 meters
- Placing a poll is 0.3 seconds faster
- When a Survivor is snared the gatekeeper is hasted for 1 additional second
- Survivors move an additional 0.2 M/S slower when snared.
- When a Survivor is snared the Gatekeeper becomes Undetectable for 10 seconds
Purple
- Polls link with ALL polls in range
- When a Survivor would scream due to a snare their aura is revealed for 3 seconds (Calm Spirit does not prevent the effect. The wording is so a Survivor waiting in the link will stop being revealed).
- Polls will snare any Survivor that passes within 4 meters
- Haste effects increase the Gatekeepers movement speed by an additional 0.2 M/S
Red
- Polls no longer give the Gatekeeper Haste. Survivors that would be snared are instead rooted for 1.5 seconds, becoming unable to move. A link can only root a Survivor once every 3 seconds.
- While hasted, the Gatekeepers basic attacks apply the Deep Wounds status effect and have no cooldown when downing Survivors.
Perks
- Bugged Levers - When a Survivor stops opening an exit gate for any reason their aura is revealed for 4/6/8 seconds. Survivors attempting to start opening a partially completed exit gate must first complete a difficult skill check. If an exit gate is opened all Survivor auras are revealed for 10 seconds and this perk is disabled for the rest of the trial.
- Warden of the Darkness - Any time you chase a Survivor and let them escape gain the undetectable status effect for 10/12/14 seconds.
- Exemplar - The first time each Survivor is hooked all other Survivors become exposed for 20/25/30 seconds.
I love this idea but they more than likely will make that last perk. Well they might but it probably will be nerfed badly

Bloodlust has always been a wonky mechanic to band-aid other wonky mechanics. Tbf, the one thing they could at least do right now to balance bloodlust a little bit more is that it should reset if you initiate to use your power. The purpose of bloodlust is to end the chase once it has being going on for a certain amount of time (by ending a chase I mean with a hit). The purpose of a killer power is the same (some killers have double powers that do different things, let's put that aside), i.e. to end chases. It should be either/or for all killers. You EITHER end the chase faster using your power, OR you bloodlust. It should never be both, as in 'I messed up my power, but I'm building bloodlust so I'm good anyway'. Even if you bait your power (examples, Billy feathering, Huntress winding up, Demo releasing right click, etc.) it should reset bloodlust, because you're effectively using your power to end the chase.
Yes cuz everybody want to resest there bloodlust placing a trap with hag or trapper only so the survivor can run to another pallet or loop. Or reset blood lust collecting blood as the oni. does it reset when pig crouches. Or maybe when lets say a huntress who is trying to get better at hitting those misses her hatches well tuff like u can't use bloodlust and screw your own teachable too while ya at it.

So I understand why the devs have a hard time balancing loops. It's probably not easy to make loops mind-gameable while also making sure they aren't just wholly unsafe.
Seems like a fine line between unsafe and infinite.
But can we all agree that mind gaming and bloodlusting are different.
Like, yeah, I was caught at this loop but that's just because you blood lusted me. Not because you outplayed me.
I (personally) feel bloodlust needs looked at amidst all this loop/tile adjusting, yeah?
Bloodlust is like the onlying thing helping most killers win a strong loop or strong survivor who is smart not to fall for mindgames. It helps slow killers as well what would they even do to it anyway?

facing a killer with ebony mori is one of the most un fun things in the game. Unless the killer is really bad then youโve basically lost as soon as youโve loaded into the game.
if you want to remove keys to make it fair then go ahead. Ebony mori is just an insanely unfair mechanic that needs to be removed.

No that's dumb don't take it out just instead have only available on last hook thats more understandable and I guess survivors can't just insta use keys

Would be nice to improve matchmaking to compete with equal skilled players .Either that or your game is too killer sided.
Dear developers. What needs to be done to prove that the game is killer sided? Like 100 games in a row with 3-4 kills on rank 1 would be enough to prove that the game is balanced fine ? And that it doesnt need to go through balance changes anymore? Not counting low tier killers though. They need to be balanced .
This game is not killer sided at all pls explain how it is killer sided

Their are tools to your advantage. Use them. I've seen plenty of killers 3 gen a team, a good swf team. Goal of the game isnt just kills nor is the survivors goal to just escape. Want more pips, more sacrifices, more points, whatever it may be. Ending a game as fast as possible to camp a hook, focus 1 survivor, or solely focus gens will earn you a loss.
Infinites, bamboozle. Pallets, enduring, spirit fury, brutal strength. Gen rush, ruin, discordance, surveillance.
29% of killer perks go unused, 71% are very much used. 63% of survivor perks are hardly ever used, 37% perks are used. Approximately, this was all in self study of having the game since beta, the changes, the additions, 3000+ hours, having had the game since beta. This is my most recent finding though it may not be 100% accurate this is my experience as a killer and survivor.
Maybe the game mechanics and perks and sides complaints need to stop, rather maybe we just need to change game play style? Nah, ain't never gonna happen. LOL
Aye there will always be arguments and debates for this game unfortunately that will never end I love the game and want to play it for fun the devs try to balance it out or whatever but honestly this game probably never be balanced as long as people complain. If the killer side gets a nerf killers complain and survivors gonna say "get good" or whatever. If survivors get nerved like what's happening now they complain. never ends

You are talking about when you don't have a 3-gen. Pick the 3 closest generators and protect them with everything you got. It's okay to let the outskirt gens go.
That is true your right about that but that will just drag the game out for so long

But survivors are expected to sweat for the escape? Nothing about this game is balanced. Either side. Survivors take more nerfs than anything the killers have had to go through. I have 3000+ hours in the game, rank 1 survivor and killer. I have seen both sides and see that changes are necessary but a lot of the nerfs or bluffs are truly unnecessary now.
Loops, Flashlights, DS, insta heal, sabo... the list goes on and on. Some of them were necessary but some were not. Toolboxes, yes. Extend the game, indeed. Sabo is just like 99'ing a hook now, just permanent (unecessary). Insta heals, I see the complaint and understand it. Keys are in talk for nerf, why? Because they used a means to secure their escape which is the goal of the game.
Survivor goal, do gens, get chased, save teammates, escape. (Doing one or two gets you nowhere.)
Killers goal, break, chase, hook (multiple times), sacrifice survivors. (Doing one or two gets you nowhere.)
The complaint comes down to play styles now. "Survivors are too toxic" or "killers are too sweaty." Listen, both sides are toxic and sweaty and becomes a damned match of who can be even sweatier. Nothing the dev's can do about that. Guaranteed.
I think it comes down to us as a community to actually play to have fun rather than try and but sadly, $1million says that will NEVER happen because people dont want that. They want more to benefit them because peeps be selfish. Make valid arguments compared to those who throw a tantrum and 9 times out of 10, its tantrum throwing.
I just want to bring up your point of survivors taking more nerfs than anything like have u not sense this game in the earlier stages them nerfs u talking about was well overdue and just now killers r getting some good buffs (well not killers just the maps and loops) but you r a 100% right about the community thing I just want to play the game for fun but I can't have fun when u have the survivors who like to text u after game if they win or teabag at exit gate hell even teabag at pallets like that ruins the fun for me.
