Boil over nerfed within two weeks while DMS wasn't touched despite being implemented in the same patch and being equally unfun to go against, but people didn't complain as much as whiny killer mains
RPD library hooks still being there
And I'm not even listing all the (mostly) deserved nerfs that survivors went through, from heals, bnps, infinites, etc.
Boil Over wasn't nerfed, it wasn't good even after the buff, it was made less abuseable. DMS on the other hand isn't abuseable and is counterable.
Fun is a useless metric for balance. I don't know why people keep calling stuff "unfun" or "boring" when trying to nerf Perks/Killers nerfed. Fun is and always will be subjective. What you find "unfun" will be what someone else finds "fun"
PRD is bad map in general. It has infinites, bad Hook spawns (for Killer and Survivor) and is just 2 Mother's Dwellings stacked on top of each other with a bad Gen spread
-
Killer is way more stressful than Survivor, but Survivor is more boring

Well why would you make gens even more boring by having a chain hit you every 3 seconds? I don't think pinhead should be nerfed or anything, he's very balanced, he's just annoying af.
Do the box?
-
He might be "boring" but god damn is he weak

It's amazing how 'pro' you become when you learn how to run in a circle.
You don't even have to run in a circle most of the time, just hold ShiftW
-
Never, because the devs don't want to acknowledge how much of a mistake SBMM is, in a game that doesn't require much skill
-
In the last 25 matches, it popped up 3 times
-
I'm so glad it's gone. It's the only part of the Stranger Things Chapter that I didn't like
-
The more I play Survivor, the more I realize how similar Killers are. The only ones that stand out are Twins, Blight, Hag and Nurse. The remaining Killers are either M1 Killer that can be looped normally, or are hard countered by ShiftW, or both

First, you get accused of being in a SWF despite you and your teammates telling them we weren't and then you have killers that brings in one of the strongest killers, with some of the strongest add-ons and the strongest offering and when they lose, they say it's because they weren't playing a different killer like what? Examples are below.

The Blight player commented on a mistake they made but yes, they're definitely blaming you

I love the classical buff Blight again when he’s easily top 3. With Nemesis and Twi s getting nerfs
Twins and Nemesis were just too good at high MMR
-
If you ask me, all Killers are equally "boring" just because of how similar they are. There's a few unique Killers but most Killers have the same counters. The only 1 I find more "boring" is Wraith because I usually don't have that many interactions with Wraiths. Whenever I'm up against one, they ignore me
-
How often do I escape? 74% of the time
How many Survivors usually escape? 2
-
BT could make the unhooked Survivor lose collision, but the duration is fine
-
Badham
It's got everything Haddonfield has, from really safe and good loops to house of pain but it also has Shack
-
Don't get downed near the basement, and I'd the Killer is camping the basement, do gens. Let that guy die and get out so your MMR goes up and you'll have better teammates
-
Because NOED isn't what usually gets the Killer a 4K, altruism does
-
That's what happens when you nerf mediocre Killers instead of buffing them
-
Can you guys continue on getting the bad teammates so I can keep the good ones?

Nah if you dont understand it, its not my fault. Just think about what in this situation wasnt supposed to be possible. I give you a hint: its something this particular killer was able to do on this particular map. And additionally: this has nothing to do with this topic, so stop ypur whataboutism.
All I've seen was Otz using a mediocre build on a mediocre Killer on a really bad map. He used his Perks to his advantage and won because the Survivors made a mistake. Had they touched the gate earlier, they could've gotten out
-
A few recent "Blight op pls nerf" threads came up so I assume people though "Oh no, the Survivors started whining again, the devs will nerf Blight now" like they did with Wraith and now they're trying to have fun while it lasts
-
Doing the objective as fast and as efficiently as possible was always the meta

Hello,
the word "fun" is the wrong term. A new mechanic should increase the gameplay overall and is the reason of this idea.
You said "Buff Killers so they don't need to camp and tunnel, then you could nerf it in some way" The mechanic of camping is still in the game, but changes during the state of gameplay (early mid end) - as you can read in the post before. - thanks to @SuzuKR
Kind regards
Throvo
You don't get it. A nerf doesn't have to delete a mechanic, it could weaken it. What you're doing is nerfing camping just because it's "unfun" as you yourself stated
increase the fun of the aspects this game offers.
Camping is by no means overpowered, it's countered by BT and doing gens. The former is a Perk everyone has access to and the the latter is the main objective of the Survivors. The only "problematic" aspect is Bubba, and there is no good way to nerf it without reworking his Power
-
@Throvo said:
Hello everyone, ty for the answeres.
@ThatOneDemoPlayer - it is not about making killers leave the game but increase the fun of the aspects this game offers.

Also a very good add. Thats what the post is for. If we add situations it is possible to create a usefull enhancement to the game. It is possible to add some values for the hook. What we have now:
Survior is on a hook
a) killer is inside the area for a spefic amount of time (e.g. 20 seconds - of course time is given for checking out if someone is lurking around) after that time with nobody entering the area, a "camping status" will increase the other surviors speed and decrease the rest of the hooked time (not stop becasue camping should be still possible but not as rewarding in especially in the beginning phase.
b) Another survior is chasing in the specific area - To avoid an abuse of buffs for the other surviorsan d the hooked one, the game runs in the way it is now. - Thanks to @Tr1nity for the hint with the chase
c) One or more suviors are hiding in the area. - The game runs normal. This is oen part of your issue.
d) The secons part you mentioned is when the killer is behind, or needs to protect a nearly done genereator. - Good point btw.! - so we could add: If in that area is also a generator with at least 50% of progess, the game runs normal. Next to the part where killers are camping in the early game we have to consider mid and lategame, which makes your idea very powerfull. I could also think of the percentage in which the generator progess is taken into account comapred to the generators which are left or already done in total:
1st gen 50% - 4 left
2nd gen 40% - 3 left
3rd gen 30% - 2 left
4th gen 20% - left
Greetings
Throvo
Punishing camping without dealing with the unbalanced or "unfun" aspects that Survivors have will lead to Killers leaving the game. Fun is, and never will be, a reliable metric for balance
-
If I could, I'd rework CoH. I don't know how, but it should get reworked so it fits the Boon Totem formula of "The Killer is needed for the Boon Perk to work". CoH is the only Boon Perk that doesn't fit that criteria and actively goes against it
-
Flashlights require the Killer to be a moth or rely on map rng
-
Don't punish camping. It'll just end up making even more Killers leave the game. Buff Killers so they don't need to camp and tunnel, then you could nerf it in some way
-

Again one of this folks who doesnt understand the issue.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2820766#Comment_2820766
Nobody said anything like this here.
What even is the issue. You got outplayed and whined about "exploits"
-
@Tiufal said:
Just be honest. Playing NOED is a sign of no skill. Youre purposely giving up a perkslot that could help you playing well the main time of the game for a perk that can completely change the results of the game at the very end and requires zero input from your side. Its hilarious how people still defend playing with their training wheels as killer.
Didn't you type "Nice exploits" in end game chat after getting outplayed in one of Otz's videos? I don't think you should talk about skill
-
That's just sad
-
Over 50 ping and I'm out
-
Boil Over Was never good to begin with. The buff made it abuseable, but not good. The nerf made it less abuseable but didn't make it worse
-
So if Blight gets nerfed, who'll be your next target? Twins? Artist? Pyramid Head? Wraith? Pig? The crying will never end
-
Those were some incredibly weird and bad ideas
-
Please no. All recent maps have been terrible

So basically just have so much distance he gives up trying to chase me?
Don't vault, don't use loops that I have no input on what spawns, don't get cucked by map rng even more and stay at loops UNLESS they're not high walls then I have to hold shift W and hope he isn't already close enough to hit me with knives anyways.
The issue is that it's basically rng if you're going to last more than 30 seconds against him. I can only make do with what I have. And with more of the newer maps spawning with short filler pallets or gaps that gets harder. I don't care if Trickster is low on a tierlist or whatever. I want to play the match instead of just dying because someone picked a certain character.
Yes, that's Trickster's Power. You're not supposed to feel safe 100% of the time
-
Mommy
-
His 1v1 is bad, his Static Blast is meh but it allows for tracking and allows the Doctor to start chases faster, tho he usually ends them about as quickly as an M1 Killer
-
It's not dead, and it won't be dead as long as DbD is able to introduce licensed characters to the game. Once there won't be any more popular horror licenses, then we can start talking about DbD being dead
-

You call that a counter.
Yes, because it is one. It's not just a counter to Artist, it's a counter to every Killer in the game aside from Blight
-
I have every Killer, but I only play Demogorgon, Oni and Artist on occasions. The Killer that I'm straight up avoiding to play however, is Freddy. There's no point in playing him when everything he does is an inferior version of Demogorgon

Your level of love for Trickster might be the same that I feel for Freddy and Old DBD.
And that @TheGannMan feels for Spirit.
I can totally get why you would want the journey with him.

Always a pleasure to see those who would also want to end their journey with the characters that started it.
When I first started playing DbD, I wasn't a normal person. I wanted to have 1 account for Survivor and 1 account for Killer. I then decided to be a normal person and stuck to my "Killer account" as my main account.
The old "Survivor account" has Dwight as the only character that's leveled up, and for some reason I have Tenacity on him. Thompson House is the first map where I've used a Flashlight. It's also the map where I died to a Reverse Bear Trap, so I'd probably want to verse a Pig on that map aswell
-
ShiftW. There's your counter
-
The Killer doesn't get any undeserved kills because of NOED. At max, you're going to get 1 extra down/kill with NOED. If you get more than that, then NOED didn't kill the Survivors, altruism did
-
"I deserve to win" is a bad mindset, but that doesn't excuse you working with the Survivor. That Nea played immersed the whole game, presumably not even touching a single gen, but you let her escape because she 'booped your snoot'
-
I would play as Dwight with Tenacity being my only Perk on Thompson House with a Flashlight

I'm biggest two worries are main building some are already really strong and possible infinites that I can create forcing you to lose the chase to have to snuff the boon. Otherwise I don't think is a problem.
Oh and 110 killer might see real issues.
True, 110 Killers probably will suck against Boon: Dark Theory, but we'll see
-

You say that now and then you get hit with shadow step and the new boon. I have a feeling it's going to be a nasty combo
I know for a fact it'll make Survivors look like they're hacking, especially if they're looping the Killer on the edge of the Boon Totem, making the Killer unable to hear the Boon, but I only see that Perk combo working on an indoor map
-
Every Exhaustion Perk should be on the same level as Lithe, aside from Adrenaline
CoH should've never existed. It's the complete opposite from the other Boons (the Killer to be near), and that, combined with how strong a free heal is, is why it's so overpowered
-
Boons, as a whole, are a fine mechanic. CoH taints the Boon reputation
