A weak Perk that can't be good because of it's very nature
-
Sluzzy, have you ever even looked at Legion’s kit? Legion literally forces Survivors to play efficiently, splitting up. If your team can't deal with them, you're just bad and couldn't even win against a trapless Trapper
-
The point of Boons was to create a 'Tug-Of-War' type of gameplay, but most of them aren't that good and aren't worth going out of your way to snuff them.
Just a thought but a base-kit version of Inner Healing and Pentimento would do a better job than Boons, as that'd me a base-kit mechanic, and not something that cam be brought into The Trial optionally

I also started playing Artist since the patch. I really hope they don't nerf her. CAAAAAAAAACAAAAWWWWWWWWW
Good to know I'm not the only person that enjoys the sounds she makes during a Trial

Artist is among the "scariest" Killers in the game, as you're never safe against her

Yes, they didn't respond correctly either - I'm just saying that camping is what allowed him to end the game that fast, and that being BM on top of it is just being a poor sport. I was more looking for a proper game where I can see exactly what he's doing differently in chase to give him his 90% win rate at high MMR.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2929999#Comment_2929999
PR/DMS is definitely a good build, but it's no stronger than Ruin/Undying or even my new favorite - Plaything/Pentimento/CoB.
Hag...yeah. You get 3 types of Hags - the chaser Hags that tend to lose horribly, the camper Hags that tend to do well and the roaming Hags that spread traps around the map in all sorts of sneaky places - those are the Hags to be scared of.
The BM was was unnecessary, I agree.
I'm just running the usual Playtimento with CI and BBQ for BP on Artist.
It's working surprisingly well and I'm on a 4K streak rn, but not the Otz kind of streak, as I'm using Add-Ons (I wasn't even intending to go on a 4K streak, I just wanted to get some data on Perk usage, kill ratio and stuff like that)

I didn't say blame. I said disagree. Can you disagree to the fact that legion is awfully boring to go against?
It is subjective tbh, but I really can't see how anyone can like playing against mending simulator
Gameplay wise, they are pretty boring.
But their music keeps me from falling asleep against them, unlike Freddy
-
It's basically the same, but I'm enjoying the game... somehow.
I've also had 7 4Ks in a row with Artist. Fun

Can you disagree with that? It always has been a mending simulator driving games as long as forever Freddy. There's zero interaction and i dreaded the day they would actually buff them without reworking their awful power, which has sadly come
Yes, I can blame them for complaining about a weak Killer and asking for nerfs just because they're "unfun"

I'm really not sure what you think this shows.
Yes, hard camping people is an extremely effective strategy, which they didn't respond to correctly. Hopefully that won't be true forever.
Also - wow are you BM. I'm not sure why you insist on both hard camping people at 5 gens and hitting them on hook - I can only imagine what else you did that game. What did you hope to accomplish acting like this besides making people have less fun with the game?
LoL and DbD are difficult in different ways. I'm a lowly Gold in LoL (or was before I stopped playing it a good ways back) but the skill sets aren't really analogous and I'm not sure which I'd call more difficult. I mean...neither of these are Starcraft 2 or anything.
What else was he going to do? 2 out of 3 Survivors were swarming the basement
-
Artist and Steve.
Both because they're hot

I don't want to derail this thread but I'll talk about it for one post.
Hag has 0 counter play. The gameplay loop for her is to just walk up to a pallet, the survivor drops it, place a trap or maybe 2, run around the pallet, and then get a hit. There is nothing you can do about it except for leaving the loop but after you've done that a few times there aren't any more resources to use. She is one of 2 killers that can be in multiple places at once, the other killer being Twins. She can potentially be in 10 places at once if she's set the maximum number of traps. She can camp a hook and pressure gens all at the same time while having a majorly oppressing power.
Artist is a similar case because her birds act like traps except they have infinite range. You can just do the same thing hag does but it also has the benefit of being ranged and can pressure any generator on the map. Some content creators have demonstrated that it can be practically impossible to lose using a certain strategy unless you are going against a tournament squad who knows exactly how to counter it. The Dead Man's Switch + Pain Resonance combo is insane and she can stop any generator for 40 seconds anytime she wants, it's ridiculous.
Either way both of those killers are barely used at all so a nerf would bring only criticism and negative attention. People don't really complain about these killers because they are rarely seen so only the average killer mains (which the forums mostly consist of) would complain and as we know killers are very oppressed and deserve to get 4Ks every single game.
The Hag gameplay you mentioned is the most inefficient way to play her. If a Hag is playing like that, you should win the game unless your team doesn't know how to hold M1 on a Generator.
That's why you ShiftW away from Artist, you don't try to loop her, her 1v1 is insane.
Her range is good, but an Artist should not get long range snipes reliably, unless your team is throwing.
PR/DMS' strength is so massively overstated it's not even funny anymore
-
Can you at least explain why you think they're "op"?

So just having portions of the map with noting for survivors to use to defend themselves is fair? Also fun?
Can we have areas of the map that killers will always lose survivors in then? Or is that unfair somehow?
Those areas already exist

Artist is like Hag. Everybody knows she's way overpowered but nobody plays as her and doesn't care so she most likely will never be nerfed aside from maybe a QOL thing here and there.
Neither Artist nor Hag is overpowered

And when it's paired with other slowdown perks? I have been doing Corrupt, Deadlock, PR, DMS and I can tell you that if I get an early down it's not uncommon to have 4-5 gens blocked at the same time.
"Painfully easy to counter" when you can play someone like Onryo, teleport across the map to someone's gen, then immediately teleport back?
These forums I swear
Corrupt gets countered by going towards the other side of the Map.
Deadlock gets countered by splitting up.
PR/DMS gets countered by splitting up/letting go off of Generators.
If Sadako teleports to you, activates DMS and leaves, she wasted a TV for nothing and you have 55 seconds of free Gen time
-
I ALMOST got 5 Stacks of Pentimento but my inability to use my eyes and a Boon ruined everything

If they nerf Artist...that would probably be the day I hang up this game for good - because it means that my vision for the game and the devs vision for the game are irreconcilably different.
She's as close to a perfectly balanced killer as any, alongside Plague and Demo.
The only changes I'd make to her would be making her addons a bit less bleh.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2929712#Comment_2929712
DMS is often a psychological perk moreso than a useful regression perk. I've stopped using it as I've found what happens is that it looks like I'm winning, with 5 hooks at 5 gens and suddenly 4 gens pop at the same time.
I think the reason her Add-Ons are so "meh" is because her base-kit is already pretty much perfect
-

Well here is a polling of the best killer perks in DBD, so I would say hundreds of people disagree with that.
As do I. There's tons of killers who can activate DMS globally. Onryo, Freddy, Demo, Doctor, Pinhead, etc etc.
Pain Res can do it for every killer as well, and even if the survivors start playing around it by then it might even be too late.
A single pain res DMS is what, 12s from pain res and 45s from DMS. So 57 seconds of slowdown and you don't even have to go out of your way to do it. That's 3 pop goes the weasels of slowdown and you don't even have to stop what you are doing to kick a gen.
Yeah, no.
PR/DMS is painfully easy to counter, Artist is the only Killer that has really good synergy with it.
PR/DMS is 15% slowdown on a single Generator. Gens don't regress while blocked, so you can’t lose any more progress than 15%. Sure, it gets blocked (if you don't play around it that is), but you can get on a different Generator and forget about it until it's Perk icon dissappears

Artist was released what? 5 months ago? She got nerfed right before release, so yeah. Probably time for her to get nerfed again. People complaining about Dead Man's Switch and not understanding how crows work (but being very vocal about their Ls all the same) suggest they're probably going to nerf her long-distance effect.
I wouldn't count PTB buffs/nerfs as actual buffs/nerfs because the Killer didn't get fully released yet.
DMS isn't even that good of a Perk tbh, it only useful on Artist and maybe Nurse/Blight

Demogorgon

Blight

Plague

I doubt they'll nerf Mommy, she's perfect as is.
If they do touch her, it'll probably be an Add-On Pass with a few nerfs to her best Add-Ons and maybe a buff or two to weaker ones.
EDIT: The Artist skin was good but the head was so bad. Artist hasn't received a good head skin in a while

Only watched the intro.

The buffs to legion absolutely do make him stronger than he was before. How much better depends on where you thought he was before. A lot of people put him as the absolute worst killer, which he definitely is not now. But even if you rated him a bit higher, I think that Legion is better than doctor now, which he wasn't before. Comparable in strength to Demogorgon from my experience.
That's an insult to Demogorgon

still don't see why gaining distance is such a huge issue, just chase them?
personally, as a survivor I don't run dead hard I find it a bit disingenuine to get good with a perk that basically counts as a free 360 so I learn to 360 the right way. however, if you know how to use it well, I can for sure give those survivors props for a good dead hard, just like otz, killers will play relentlessly so will survivors in a strange way it's balanced
"Just chase them"
Let me just waste ~90 seconds worth of Generator time just because of 1 Perk that can and usually is run by at least 3 Survivors per Trial

...yes it does? i'm saying wait the hell out of dead hard let them spin you, still don't swing. best way to down someone easily, NEVER SWING but yes sorry if you don't believe me but uhh
BAIT DEAD HARD!!
This is where you are wrong.
You're looking at it from the perspective of DH being used to dodge a hit, which is the wrong way to use it.
It's uncounterable when used against most Killers when it's used for distance
-
@Pumpkinbros said:
Hey just like any other perk pro tip: just learn how to counter it lol
The best way to avoid dead hard, is just never swing until you're right up on their back, it's pretty easy you just forget to counter it there are many videos on how to counter a lot of perks, but I just wouldn't get that upset about it. It's all a part of the fun of looping and predicting and though it can be frustrating you just gotta mature and focus on what you can, not get upset about the little things, and if all fails, just be friendly, I'm sure you'll end up with a game you can look back on and smile

Even her best add-ons are kinda meh compare to some other S tier addons for different killers. That's okay because she has strong base kit.
I would say that overall her add-ons are kinda "meh".
I disagree hard with her best Add-Ons being "meh" compared to other Killer's best Add-Ons. Her's have really good synergy with her other best Add-Ons.
The Severed Hands Add-On has synergy with O Grief, O Lover, Silver Bell and Thorny Nest, some of her other really good Add-Ons

Overall a solid list, but baby shoes and oil paints are underrated. Oil paints’ extra killer instinct range can help a lot more than you’d think.
I would also say ink egg is not worse than charcoal stick, but it still isn’t that good.
I still don't think Oil Paints being higher than C tier makes sense, but I can see why it could be better than the rest of the Add-Ons in that specific tier.
I think Ink Egg is worse, as you never get any benefit from it, where as with Charcoal Stick, you can get some benefit from it
-
Yes, that's a normal chase

@DattPugg said:
I would agree with this list for the most part, but I think you have undervalued certain addons. First, Matias' Baby Shoes is gamechanging on: Tall loops, indoor maps, Jungle gyms etc. This addon conpletely negates the ability for survivors to mind game a bird and you will always land your melee birds if placed correctly. Also, Garden of Rot is actually a very devastating addon if you use it correctly. You had said in your explanation that it shouldn't activate more than once per trial, and if you make it obvious this is very true. The key to this addon is to hide it. Don't use it immediately because a coordinated team will know you have it. Wait until you need this; a generator is about to pop and you have a scourge hook, they're about to reach a safe pallet etc. Then you can make use of this addon when it counts and they'll never see it coming. Another thing to avoid is to act like you have it, don't just hug the survivors back waiting for them to repel. If they're smart they'll know you have it. Make it seem like you're going for another bird to hit them, either fake it or you can even place it and then when they repel-BAM instadown. The reason this might happen multiple times a trial is because there will probably be more situations like this: repel and be instadowned or alternatively take a bird hit and make barely any distance.
I, for sure, undervalued Matias' Baby Shoes. Having that extra Aura reading is extremely strong, should've placed in A or maybe even S Tier.
While I'm still not sold on Garden Of Rot being all that good of an Add-On, C tier seems like a better placement.
@Laluzi said:
I personally think you're undervaluing Silver Bell. It plus Severed Hands is hands down my favorite addon combo with her. Even without the hands, bell is amazing for firing at gens. Survivors have no idea if you're approaching the gen or not, so they'll pretty much always run off in a panic - which is nice if you're not pressuring the gen, but if you are headed towards them, they don't know what direction you're coming from and they'll often run straight into you for a free hit.
And while I agree it's tricky to get value out of Garden of Rot without doing a cheese strategy that's easily recognized, it does have value in making survivors less eager to repel once they discover the addon is in play, which makes it easier to land birds. It's definitely better than her other iri, which is a much worse Silver Bell.
Agree with all your other placements, though - this is a very good list. It is sad that Artist is in that category of killers where her browns and yellows are stronger than her iris, but at least she has some very good purples to make up for it.
While I still don't think Silver Bell is better than B tier, having it at the bottom wasn't that good of a choice either. Boosting it to the top of B tier would've been a better choice.
Didn't think about Garden Of Rot "slowing" the Survivors' repel time when ranking it, good point

It has cars and buildings, yes, but thats all. The map has nothing in the middle. You can see survs from one side of the map to the other, and the middle is a dead zone
Stealth got nerfed, and that's about it. All the buildings have 1-2 God Windows and 90% of Pallets are God Pallets

No more windows and ony one pallet is guaranteed btw.
I'm ok with these 2 pallets since there is a huge empyness in the middle and other loops are mostly mediocre.
It's fine.
Look at The Game: there are at least 10 god pallets
The middle sucks, the corners are filled with God Pallets, so the Map isn't much better that it was before

2nd cutest Killer in the entire game that comes with 1 good Perk, that being Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, and 1 unreliable but very strong Perk when it works, Hex: Pentimento

I'd be down if No Mither kept it's "Unbreakable".
Combining No Mither and Dead Hard would have a chase time that's comparable to a normal chase without DH.
Allowing No Mither to have the extra benefit of licking yourself up would be fair imo

1 and 2 would severely hinder looping for no reason
7 doesn't make sense because something being "annoying" doesn't warrant being nerfed
6 wouldn't make any sense because most people don't want to play "sweaty", and they'll move onto casual mode where they'll continue facing "sweaty" players along side noobs

That's a pretty smart way of giving Ghostface the lethality Myers has without copying Myers' Power
