They weren’t just to strong they were cheap and annoying. Slinger had no downsides to his gun besides the 1v4.
Huntress and trickster both have long windup times and give warning when there going to shoot. Slinger had none he could aim the gun faster then you could run, he had no slowdown, no cooldown he could keep ads with no punishment. Huntress when she stops aiming has a hefty slowdown, slinger doesn’t, she gives a sound cue when aiming slinger doesn’t, she has a lullaby letting you know when to run he doesn’t he could literally snipe you from outside his TR he was a better stealth killer than the actual stealth killers. There’s a reason he got these nerfs. I agree he should have gotten more buffs to compensate, but calling this balanced is just plain wrong.
freddy was not fine, he was also cheap to play as and against, it was literally spam traps at loops, rinse and repeat. His nerf was deserved he was the pure definition of low risk high reward.
once again, I literally said I agree with what everyone says about wraith. His nerf was undeserved. But I could see why his whole gameplay was just uncloaking at loops I could see why it was considered braindead, but survivors actually didn’t want him to be nerfed, but he was nerfed anyway cause he was considered “Unfun”.
... you're not supposed to win a 1v1 against the Killer as a Survivor, that's you found them annoying

The difference is all of them except maybe Wraith were very annoying to face. Being super strong in chase doesn’t equal good game design. All 4 except wraith encouraged the worst gameplay style. Pyramid head and slinger were both zoning killers they didn’t even need to use there power. Spirit and Freddy were extremely easy to use in chase. Freddy just spam traps. Spirit just stand still and mindgame.
pyramid head is still good in chase
slinger you can still zone just as good, you just can’t quick scope that much.
wraith, 1v1 wasn’t really that strong only one I agree with but he was kind of braindead to play.
Freddy can still spam traps and loops, still annoying to face
spirit can’t rely on cheap tricks anymore, but can still mindgame.
you treat them like there gutted but there not there still the same killer(except wraith).
Something being annoying doesn't mean it needs to be changed/nerfed.
Wraith, Deathslinger and Nightmare were fine balance wise, they were pub-stompers, but got nerfed because Survivors whined too much, not because they were too strong

Yeah I don't know what they were thinking with sadako. In the games current state every killer has to have some form of anti loop whether that be a speed boost or just straight pyramid head type power because this game wasnt really built for the 1v4 despite it being 1v4.
The game 100% could be balanced around the 1v4, it's just that the chase (the 1v1) is more fun than the 1v4, so the devs, instead of balancing the 1v4 by adding mandatory secondary objectives for the Survivors and therefore having more chases, took the easy way out and balanced around the 1v1 (with the huge wave of 1v1 focused Killers) and pretty much deleted the 1v4 aspect of the game, with only a few Killers focusing on that aspect, multiple of which being older Killers, like Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Hag, Doctor, etc, some of which already had/have gotten improvements to their 1v1 capabilities.
With some of their recently released Killers, Blight, (Nemesis if you count the Zombies), Artist, Cenobite and Onryō, it seems to me like their trying to go back to their old way of balancing (while retaining some 1v1 capabilities, sometimes even outclassing their 1v4 capabilities), but due to the current nature of the game, they haven't always been successful

I think it needs a total rework that doesn't include chase extension.
Perks that extend chases, letting the Survivor 1v1 the Killer, shouldn't exist. Dead Hard allows Survivors to 1v1 the Killer, and that's the reason it's overpowered

I know. It would be nice though with an entire loadout revolved around wiggling off the killer to actually do that at least a couple times every few games without having to find precise spots on the map and still hope that there isn't a hook close enough to give you a chance to wiggle off.
An entire loadout and you still can't wiggle off is fair. Wanna know why?
Because that's still 1/4 of the total Perks Survivors have, and because of how much of a time sink chasing a Survivor that has wiggled off is.
You're not supposed to 1v1 the Killer, you're supposed to 1v4 the Killer. The Killer has to have the upper hand in a 1v1, otherwise the Killer might aswell kiss the Hooks the entire Trial, trying to appeal to The Entity because he can't do anything

It can be baited it out in many situations so why shouldn’t he/she say it?
Also he never once said bait it out for distance, I think you’re just making stuff up now.
FYI killers like Nurse (the good ones) don’t care about DH they will just blink again.
Maybe stick to the topic.
It's not even overpowered people just suck and can't accept it
Is a general statement, it's not specifically talking about either dodging a hit or using it for (uncounterable) distance, and as using DH for distance is the more common use, aswell as the overpowered one, I assumed they were talking about that specific use of the Perk.
Good Survivors don't even need DH against a good Nurse. Nurse has a ~50% kill rate against Survivors of equal skill

Dead Hard counters every single Killer in the game except for Nurse and Blight. Ranged Killers get cucked by the invincibility and mobility (or any Killer that isn't a ranged Killer/Nurse/Blight) Killers get cucked by the free distance

Bloodlust 1 is enough to get a Hit at unsafe Loops. You dont need Bloodlust 2 or even 3, unless you are super-dumb and want to bloodlust a Longwall or Jungle Gym.
That's, at best, 45 seconds worth of Generator time.
If the Killer wasted 45 seconds worth of Generator time for both health states, that's 90 seconds worth of Generator time, which is longer than a normal Generator

Putting all those made up numbers aside, with 0 basis, just everything you explain is absurd. I have prevented hooks by myself, several times, just bodyblocking/ wiggling around the hook, dodging hit then bodyblocking the hook hitbox again (sometimes I had breakout, sometimes I didn't) and generally blocking the way for the killer.
Are you saying this shouldn't be possible by, let's say, teleporting me out of the way so I can't prevent a hook by myself? I don't understand what your point is now that "it should require 3 survivors".
Do you even play this game? I'm starting to wonder lol
I'm saying wiggling off on your own (Boil Over) or with the help of a single teammate is unfair, due to theassive time the Killer already sank.
-
@Sumnox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2952305#Comment_2952305
... Or 1 survivor, or 2. Depends on the circumstances. what an absurd statement.
A normal chase, without Dead Hard lasts about 45 seconds, that's 56.25% worth of Generator time. If the Survivor wiggles off, the Killer has to waste about 15-30 seconds again, depending on if the Survivor plays well or not. That's, 1 minute or more, which is 75% of a Generator. If wiggling off only requires 1 extra Survivor, that's 2 Generators about to pop.
If wiggling off required 2 Survivors, then only a single Generator would've been about to pop, which would be more fair, as when 2 or more Survivors decide to sabotage Hooks and take hits, the Killer can't do anything about it other than dropping the Survivor, which will lead to a quick pick up later on

Funny you should mention this OP, I actually mentioned this in the feedback forum a few days ago. Glad to see I'm not the only person who thinks this. Yea I think on some maps the hooks spawn way too close. Even using boil over to obscure the hook vision doesn't seem to help very much.
@Sumnox said:
That's why Saboing and Boil Over are virtually useless. And that's why Boil Over was virtually useless even when it got that huge buff. There is literally 300 hooks every 2 meters.
You're not supposed to wiggle off on your own, or even in a 2man.
The amount of time wiggling off wastes is so huge, that you should at least require 3 Survivors to do so

Can Victor pickup? Then, Twins by pure core design, slugs. It is absolutely necessary to slug as Twins, and it's up to you to decide how much you will slug. But if you -must- slug by design, why wouldn't you go all the way and play exactly how the developers intended you to?
Same as Hag. Slow, requires setup, it is widely known (maybe you just don't play too much) once a Hag hooks someone she will -always- camp or patrol the hook.
"The Hag player decides if they camp or not, like other killers"
Yeah, but because her very design heavily favours camping, you will naturally gravitate towards that.
Let's discuss anything we like, but let's not fall for hypocrisy.
Can your Dire Crows pick Survivors up? No? Then Artist is a slug-based Killer.
Can Hatchets pick Survivors up? No? Then Huntress is a slug-based Killer.

If you repeat yourself, I'm being forced to repeat myself too:
Get out of your own fantasy. I said you can be efficient and toxic, and efficient and not toxic. Example: A Billy might tunnel or camp in specific moments, or all the time, but it's not ingrained in his very design. Twins, by design (just like Hag, designed to - and encouraged to camp) are specifically designed to play in the most unhealty way possible, slugging and camping (and encourages tunnelling). So yes, it is very possible to be efficient and not toxic.
Maybe it is your personal style to always be toxic regardless of how efficient you are being, but that's just you.
Same could be said for Twins or Hag. They're not designed to camp/slug.
Hag is designed protect a specific area, and Twins are designed to be used as a team and harass multiple Survivors at the same time

A projectile is something you throw, and it follows a trajectory by its own inertia. As far as I know, Victor is something you can freely walk with, control, attack or not with, simply follow.
Victor =/ projectile
Huntress and Bird Lady do in fact, use projectiles. Unlike Twins, that we already established, don't use projectiles, as Victor isn't a projectile, but a whole separate fully in control entity. So Victor is both a killer power, and a whole killer by itself, with certain limits.
I don't have a "specific agenda" against Hag or Twins, other than I think they're very unhealthy for the game and it encourages very toxic playstyles. Doesn't mean every killer can't camp or aren't good at it, but at least they're not specifically designed for it.
We shouldn't have killers designed around the most toxic mechanics in this game.
So we're back to you calling efficient play toxic, lovely

Until those add-ons are gone though, nurse and blight are not fine. Like, the killer may or may not be using them. But also, the survivor may or may not be using dead hard.
And let's face it, how many nurses/blights do you face not using those add-ons?
Nerf them both at the same time, tho that'd be a bit hard and take a lot of work for our poor devs
-
NOED is fine, it doesn't need nerfs

Can you show me a clip of how you become the hatchet? Do you count your birds as another killer with its own identity? As far as I know Victor isn't a piece of wood but a whole separate killer integrated within Charlot when you're not activeling using him? Maybe you have the ability to turn into objects? Are you sure you're not playing Propnight?
Trapper: Lots of camping potential especially in hooks placed indoor with narrow hallways or doorways, less than Hag because of how his power is more passive in terms of trap activating as opposed to Hag physically teleporting herself. Absolutely encourages camping to a lesser degree. Watch some videos if you don't play enough to know this.
Trickster: His very power mechanics excels when a survivor is locked in an animation because you're not punished by the spread of your knives as much, hence you miss less, hence when a survivor is either close in the open (As happens when someone is attempting to unhook) or locked in the unhook animation, he can be a very effective camper. Again, doesn't mean he is specifically designed to camp unlike Hag or Twins.
Bubba: Same as trickster. His power makes him a very effective camper. Doesn't mean he's necessarily designed to camp unlike Hag and Twins.
Victor, if I remember correctly, is counted as a projectile, or at least has a projectile hit-box. He's not a Killer, he's a Killer Power, so Huntress and Artist are slug-based Killers, since they can down Survivors from afar but can't pick them up, same as Twins.
I don't think we'll get anywhere. It seems like you have a specific agenda (or just don't know what they're designed to do) against Hag and Twins, so it doesn't matter what I say

Sorry, at fair Loops the better player wins. This can be the Survivor or the Killer.
If you can only win at fair (aka unsafe) Loops with Bloodlust, you were not the better player and got it undeserved. You actually got outplayed and get the hit handed for a bit of time investment.
This is actually "being rewarded for mistakes".
"a bit of a time investment"
Not really. Bloodlust 1 barely does anything, so I'll be taking BL2 as an example.
BL2, which takes 30 seconds, which depends, but is usually around 60 seconds worth of Generator time.
That's 75% across 2 different Generators, or if the team is efficient, across 3 different Generators.
2 single chase that lasts that long can lose 3-4 Generators, 3 and you lost all of them. "a bit of time invested" is a big understatement

Twins are efficient -and- extremely toxic and unhealthy for the game.
Camping, tunneling and slugging are the most efficient playstyles in the game, and those are what you define as toxic, so no, playing efficiently and non-toxic is, by your definition, impossible

Twins buffed is a killer that shouldn't exist. It's the cheesiest, most boring, toxicity inducing killer by far. Permanent slugging, tunnelling and hook camping parking the body next to the hooked survivor constantly.
So an efficient Killer is a toxic Killer?

Just because you don't know how to play them doesn't make them bad. Not sure if it's still happening but cenobite was seeing fringe tournament play and twins were very common in tournaments before the nerf.
I doubt Pinhead was used in tournaments, successfully anyway.
Twins probably were in tournaments pre-nerf, but I'm talking about current Twins, which are mediocre at best.

I don't really have an opinion on the matter, I think Blight will do just fine without the Hug Tech, but it also doesn't need to be removed, as it's a fun addition to the game while remaining balanced, but what annoys me most is that the devs publicly revealed they are going to remove it, and now every time I play as Blight and get a successful hit with the Hug Tech, I get salty messages telling me to: "Enjoy the hug tech, it's going to be removed"
-
Getting revealed through walls shouldn't happen.
You should only be able to reveal Ghostface if he's able to stalk you, but you don't have to be in his FOV, meaning you could still reveal him if he isn't looking at you

Nurse and Blight, with the exception of a few Add-Ons, are perfectly fine. If you died to them, they played better than you.

A tier killer, B tier killer, S tier killer that's been nerfed to low A high B tier
Yeah... no. Cenobite never has been higher than C tier. His 1v1 doesn't exist and his 1v4 is in the Survivor's control. He basically has no direct Powers.
Nemesis has a garbage early game, granting Survivors 3 (4 with Dead Hard) Health States, 1 Vaccines for everyone, and 2 non-functional Zombies that get stuck in corners.
I don't know what you were taking when you said that Twins were ever S tier, but I want it, and they didn't get nerfed just a little bit, they got removed from the game. They dropped from A tier all the way down to C tier thanks to their unnecessary cooldowns and CoH
-
@Puddles said:
Nerfing dead hard would be a massive buff to killers, as a lot of survivors rely on this perk as a second chance perk, effectively a 3rd health state.
The devs should touch dead hard after nerfing bloodlust and certain killer addons related to moviment speed.
Bloodlust is a stupid mechanic that effectively rewards the killer for being bad and just pressing W (the same argument can be made for DH).
You're not supposed to 1v1 the Killer, you're supposed to 4v1 the Killer.
If a single Survivor has the ability to effectively 1v1 the Killer, then there's no way Killers can win, it's why Bloodlust exists, so Survivors can't 1v1 the Killer, which without Bloodlust they could thanks to the garbage Map design

To be fair if a survivor isn't running a exhaustion perk they get killed for making a mistake where as a killer can make multiple mistakes in a chase and still win the chase and usually the game. Killers have basically 4 main things that give them a decent advantage
- they are faster by default
- they have a power that gives an advantage against survivors
- they have add ons that give them even more advantage over a survivor
- they dont have to worry about teammates that if they make mistakes effects you.
We're playing totally different games if you think a Killer making multiple mistakes can still have a chance at winning
-
That's what they're supposed to do
-
I might have not been the first one to suggest gluing the pictures together, but I did suggest that, so I'm taking 10% of the credit
