In the past it was a sign "killer is camping". Nowadays it is hard to tell why people wave since little people know what it originally was supposed to mean.
You can see how that could be confusing...
I think three important thing to note is that if you are the only uninjured Survivor, it is your job to make sure the Survivor on the hooked gets off before the next phase. You may not need to, but you need to be ready to fly off your gen and be the hero.
I've also just started to bring Kindred when I can. I've been left to die too many times.
-
Honestly they should show all totems, lit or otherwise to the killer, without any difference between the two.
A bad killer goes to their totem at the beginning of the game. It might work in their favor, but most Survivors hit a gen up to even see if they have to worry about Hex Ruin. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a killer pass by me, then hightailed to where they came from just so I could cleanse the Totem they stupidly checked at the beginning of the game.
The perk is meant to buy you some time, and you take the risk of loading in with a hex that is in the survivors line of sight or otherwise out in the open for easy cleansing.

Does a Mori not work?
I made it to tier 70 and then went back for some
Killer challenges.. I had a pink mori, NOED, Blood Warden, Bitter Murmur, and BBQ on Hillbilly.
Everyone was hooked once before the first gen was done so I was careful and hooked two survivors for their second time with 3 gens left.
I decided to Mori Nea and basically chainsaw sprint around the Temple map and leave anyone I downed on the floor to milk the game a bit and not accidentally kill anyone else before the endgame.
Then the last gen popped, NOED was still active so I found Meg and downed her, then someone opened the exit gate which triggered The Endgame Collapse. I downed Jane and hooked her for her second hook and made my way over to the exit gate to watch Claudette run face first into the Blood Warden wall.. Mori’d Claudette and Jane died on the hook.
I found Meg before she bled out and I carried them to the exit and let them go.
I just assumed a sacrifice is a sacrifice but I had no clue a Mori and hook wouldn’t be enough. I guess when I go again I’ll just hook or get the timer to run out.
I even did my best to make it seem like I only had a green Mori to help avoid any disconnecting lol
You have to hook them as the sacrifice. If you Mori them, let them bleed out, or let the Endgame collapse take them, it doesn't count. Which is totally stupid. This would be easier with a Mori for sure, still tricky, but easier.

Imagine at all getting that code. Dude with thousands of players on forum your chance are almost none... 10/1000 and see it for your self not to mentions that this is just a portion of the players.
Don't be angry for not getting a code, someone get's it and someone not.
If you keep acting like that then maybe they will stop doing this at all.
They might as well stop doing it as it only benefited PC players anyways.
Everything is for the benefit to PC players, Fog Whiperers, PTB, initial testing, character/perk nerf/buffs enhance the PC community and then pushed out to Consoles whether the changes needed it or not, and this holiday event.

WAIT! You got Dark Senses on the first try? I haven't even attempted it yet, but it seems borderline impossible. Did you actually finish 4 gens by yourself or was everyone in your group working on that challenge at the same time?
I got EXTREMELY lucky. Killer wanted to farm. So I raced to get gens done and tried keeping other Survivors in my sight as much as possible, and thankfully by the end my fellow survivors just wanted to play "land in my trap" with the killer. I got real nervous when the 2nd or 3rd gen popped without me. But I took care of the rest.

I hope you play on PC.

MoM deserves to be trash tier because in this state of the game the effect would be too strong. If survivors could use MoM reliably, then M1 killers would struggle very hard in red ranks.
Sorry, but no thanks. In a game like DbD, second chance perks need to be balanced very carefully. And DbD is already unbalanced enough.
I've played plenty of red rank Survivor game play and I'm pretty sure the average games I've seen have less than 2 Survivors survive on average. This perk being what it was would have helped in some games, but when you have a killer 4k and zero gens were done, where's the balance? 4 extra hits wouldn't have changed the killers win, provided all 4 survivors even had it.
Speaking from a PS4 gameplay style. Maybe PC is different.
-
Came across a basement bubba, not sure if he was trying to do a daily...but he found me first and brought me to the basement. I gave up on first hook to save my Survivors from the same fate, but they apparently were still clueless. And two of them ended up DCing rather than being hooked in the basement. So he got 3 basement hooks, if he was doing 6 feet under, sucks to be him.
-
It does vary. If I can no longer complete a Tome task or they had early game DC's, I will probably let the rest escape. Although sometimes I forget how many times I hooked someone and then they die...oops.
If you flashlight blinds me before I decide you can live, I will be less lenient.
Some games with DCs I just slug the rest of the game. And I have carried someone to my ruin when I've just mutilated them as a team.
When you have multiple people who have been hooked twice and no gens done, I feel bad. That was not an even game.
But I'm not a very good killer, I want to be able to do gens and join the survivors like a good trapper boy.
-
It's just a very difficult task that most of us can't play the game in it's normal way and have to slow down the killing so there will actually be 2 Survivors in the end game. It way last task for the Tome and I was about to just give up until I did what I could in Tome 4 coming up.

Mettle of Man deserves to be a trash perk. Killers shouldn't have to deal with it.
DS is a bogus perk because it allows survivors to be reckless. DS users can hook bomb or repair generators and be protected. If you do any of those things you aren't being tunneled. It's really not hard to understand. And obviously, if you get healed DS should deactivate in that case too.
No perk deserves to be a trash perk. Every perk should be worth bring into a game. Otherwise, why bother? They literally made Ash worthless as his other two perks are also trash. So unless you like the character, you should probably save your money.
-
I got it done, but I'm not happy with myself. And not looking forward to the rereveal of Tome 4. Tomorrow? Ugh.
-
Seems a tad overly dramatic.
-
@Mister_Holdout said:
Neither of them should exist in this current version of DbD. If killers were a lot stronger by default, then I might consider them acceptable perks.
But for now they shouldn't have any role in the meta. Killers already have enough to deal with.
On a side note, I would be fine with DS if they nerfed it somewhat. You should lose DS if you get fully healed, unhook a survivor, or touch a generator. I'm still on the fence about locker protection.
They already nerfed DS and MoM, and now MoM is complete garbage. DS is fine as is. You either need to man up and eat the DS (which is not a guarantee btw) or slug and go for someone else.
Also, DS is only equipped for camping/tunneling killers, it only lasts for 40-60 seconds...so, why are you camping/tunneling? Go find someone else or eat my DS.

And it's gonna be even "better" in Tome Level 4, where you have to kill 3 survivors the same way. They said they're going to change it, but as for this day data for Level 4 haven't changed yet. If they're going to release Level 4 on Wednesday as we have seen it during the leaks and change it later as they did for Level 3, I will really start to worry about their competence of planning and release management.
Yeah, I have a feeling they will leave it as is at first to give people a chance to hate the game, and then they will make them easier for less rewards and less time to complete the Tome.

I dont have Blood Warden :c
Yeah, that's my issue too. Freddy is a pay to play, and I don't have most of those killers.

I just played leatherface, bodyblocked a totem by an exit gate, then went afk the whole game. Survivors love orbiting afk killers for some reason :)
Also don't have Leatherface for the same reason, though I did find BBQ from the Shrine!
-
I could be wrong since I don't record, but I think I've played in a round that ended faster.
-
I get it, the RNG for that is terrible, especially if your survivors pop that gen with the RBT on your head. But I think this is small potatoes considering how little The Pig is played.

I dont think anything should be hidden, moris, items, ranks or prestige levels. The only this accomplishes is either in game dcs, tunnels, an even bigger nerf to solo queuers or extremely boring matches
I'd would rather any of those things than to be dodged multiple times because of something one of my solo teammates brought in.
This has always been needed. If killers want they can always take Franklin's, good, one less crutch perk you're using then.
If a killer DCs because my flashlight, he's an idiot. I might be able to blind him at the occasional pallet, but there is no way in hell I will get a successful flashlight save all on my own.
I have recently dodged a lobby (as killer) of 3 Claudettes with flashlights. I want to play the game, but I don't want to be bullied by excessive flashlight blinds and head on plays.
But I still agree that the killer does not need to know this information. Perks I've gone in game and had a round that I never had the opportunity to activate: Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Self Care, Hope, Adrenaline, Balanced Landing, Left Behind, Mettle of Man, We're Gonna Love Forever, No Mither, Any Means Necessary, Borrowed Time, Camaraderie, Dark Sense...
Ok, I'll stop. But if your team never gets a gen done, if you never are found by the killer, if Survivors never save or all flock for the save, you're going to have perks that just never activate. So what a Survivor brings really should not change the killer build you use to start the lobby in the first place.

There are 3 super downside for SB to work
- Walk all the time (waste of time)
- Run all the time when 99% exhaustion recovered (no Gen repairing)
- Wait for Killer to get close to them from 20meter away then do a SB to make 6meter gaps. (While they can start the chase at 26 meter gaps from Killer)
This. Survivors who run it are going to be about the least helpful survivors in getting gens done, thus giving the killer more time to get his job done.
I don't particularly use it because I'm a near constant runner, so I almost always exhaust it right at the start of the game...

Not if you can't get your hands on three easy to deplete items. You'd probably find a commodious.

I am currently level 64 but I’ve only played about 1-2 matches a day since the USA’s Thanksgiving. I haven’t finished all my level 3 challenges either (4 left)
Like I don't understand how then. Did you buy a few tiers or are you forgetting 8 hour streams?
And to the people who have been at 70 for awhile...are you a streamer who plays for hours on end?
I play at least an hour a day, and on some occasions more than a few hours, and that still only has me somewhere in the 50s. I'm sure I will get thru the rift, but I have slowed down a bit. My reached goals were level 20 before Tome II, level 40 before III. Now I guess I should make sure I hit level 55 before they release IV if I haven't yet.
-
Dirty lag switcher, just kidding. I used to get that kind of message from Survivors occasionally. I finally did upgrade my internet, but even on the old the game functioned normally some fo the time.
And no sweat about getting banned on PS4 yet. Last I read, they still haven't enforced anything like that on PS4 yet, so all those toxic players who try to ruin the game for others are still able to play until devs decide they will start acting PS4 reports. I'm sure a big problem is that of you ban too many people, many of them likely won't start over so you're messing with your player base.

I just wish survivors couldn't sabo Trappers traps!
Nah, this is the best! Though I still think the Trapper should start with more traps to begin with. What other killer has to go around and collect their secondary weapons, killing time in the early game.
-
I'm happy for all the killer nerfs.
I really didn't enjoy going against an Oni. But I haven't played against him since the change to see if it feel any different.
The Nurse nerf was super expected. They had results showing her overperforming.
The same goes with Spirit's nerf.
When you play the same killer over and over and keep getting stronger at playing the game, you're only helping that killer outperform and preparing them for a future nerf. If you select a killer knowing you can almost always 4k, that's a problem. That's not the point of a balanced game.
And to the commenter who threatened AI killers for this game to continue, I'm down. ^_^

Sadly the new rank reset won't change who you play with at all now, as you only drop down to the next color ie still in range with everyone you're in range with now ><
I know. That's why I'm not playing my normal hardcore way so I can maybe get out of red ranks and at least play in Green ranks for a bit. Killer shouldn't be bad because I'm only 13 as killer.
-
I have 3 or 4 tasks to completely finish Tome 3 between Survivor and Killer and it's just not happening. Thankfully I reached the end to be able to move on to Tome 4, but at this point I'm praying rank reset will get me worst players to try to meet the final tasks
-
They need to limit how much blood he can get per survivor, like The Shape can't Tier III all on one survivor. He has to go and find others to stalk. Thankfully I haven't run into many Onis at Red ranks.

@YaiPa said:
Mori is not always a lose, because mori has a counter which is not getting downed and gen rushing. On the other hand, keys do not have a counter, since the hatch will spawn regardless, if the killer is losing or if the killer is winning.
If the killer is losing, the hatch means very little at the point, so that's not even worth mentioning. If the killer gets down to one player, then the key is worthless unless the killer closes the hatch. Most killers slug for the 4k anymore, so a key is a justifiable balance for one Survivor to attempt to escape.
-
I just had a 3 minute game against him. He's over powered at best. Just stick to your Wraith or whatever. He's not the killer for you.
-
I just had about a 3 minute game with him, he got his power from one kill, and then managed to down 2 of us, got his power again, and downed the other two. He needs a nerf, you're just not using the God Tier setup for him.

I'm basically taking tasks I know are being simplified and getting those parts done. That way at least when this comes through I can get those tasks done and move on to the rest.
I know I'm progressing decently well on Tome 3 but I've basically spent my Thanksgiving time off most dedicated to playing. When else will I get this prime playing time?
-
Yeah, I started a discussion on this too. I'm up to 9, but probably should have been done already...
-
We had at least 3 killers DC last night because they felt the survivors were getting too much of an upper hand. One nurse, one huntress, and I don't remember the rest.... Like you picked those killers in red/purple ranks. You're either good or not. But quit DCing already. I'm so ready for the DC punishments. We'll have to see if it really improves anything.
-
@Supernaut said:
Just done the 25 far... sorry, unhooks, and realized, the next survivor one, is 2 unhooks in endgame... or you don't progress along that line... errr... riiiiiiight...
That's exactly why I started with Killer. That one is next to impossible. You're counting on too many things to happen:
1) Getting 5 gens done
1a) Door has been opened
2) Other survivors are alive
2a) Survivors still alive won't be on last hook
2b) Survivors get caught even with a door open
3) You're not the one on the hook
4) Killer isn't babysitting making it near impossible to get one save, let alone TWO
I'd like to know the stats of how many matches one person has successfully pulled this off.
-
Can we hold off on releasing increasingly difficult tasks until you fix the DC issue and the game as a whole? My first game and a Survivor is disconnected in the loading screen. This is definitely looking like the first Tome I might not be able to fully completed. Hopefully I can at least get to the end.
-
Yep, I couldn't log in an hour ago, but we got a couple hours of play time (+_+)
-
Save their bloodpoints and give us extra Rift progression instead. Sunday has to be a top day to play, and will definitely cause me to fall behind in my rift progression.
I'm trying to hit 20 levels per chapter of the Tome, fortunately I am off most of this week and unless they don't fix it, I could be able to make up the time and get a nice head start on the Third Tome and next 20 levels of the rift.

Again, down someone, drop them at a gen, get the team to farm. Then grab someone off a gen and let them go. You guys are making this way harder than it needs to be.
Sometimes you can't find teams to do this though...

best quest which never finished... almost all of them only this one
I actually got that one finally on my first try! I managed getting at least 6 survivors trapped. I am lower killer rank, so that may have helped.
The last killer task I have to do is interrupting a Survivor, it's just random whether a Survivor will do that or not. I've been doing it when the task wasn't selected. 🤷♂️
