  • Ok, but can anyone explain what we use emblem xp for? The Twitter feed has a lot of people asking what it gets us in the end and we're discussing in a stream and no one has a clue what it does besides not a lot?

  • I literally had an afk killer and still didn't get the achievement. This challenge is buggy.

  • Dead hard is a garbage perk that I'm amazed so many people regularly use it. I am constantly seeing players exhausted on the ground because dead hard didn't work for them. The perk is so buggy that even if it does work it still just delays the inevitable for a good killer. If you're constantly getting bullied by dead hard, then maybe you should play survivor more with dead hard so you can learn how to counter it as a killer.

Without expecting an optimal team. That is how I play. Whatever happens happens. And I don't feel like playing this game with my friends, I prefer the other games where we can relax.

I had a lot of fun playing this with my noob friends. The problem was that they started playing it by themselves and just got bored of the rinse and repeat mechanic of the game and the bad hit boxes (even before the snafu of this latest update).

I play solo 99% of the time and kindred is a must for me, it helps so much

It's almost worse to have info on other survivors. You get to watch them crouch walk and hide in the basement while you're busy fixing generators and trying to keep the killer busy.

  • It just sucks that basically all my friends hate the game after like maybe 3 months of trying it out after I've been playing for years.

Not all games are carry-able, some groups are just too dead weight. Many can be though.

The strategy I find works best it to get the killer on you and then waste lots of his time. Obviously a good killer won't fall for this, but many will.

If he won't, then just ignore everything else going on and gen rush. Objective times for each side are ridiculously unbalanced, so you can single handedly knock out 50% of your teams objective in just 2 survivors hook times. That's ignoring chases, saves, slugs, pick up time, hook time, and the myriad of second chance perks all giving you more time.

Honestly if between the 3 other randos they can just do even one gen, you're solid.

It's definitely a matchmaking issue for sure when I can run a killer around so they just leave me and go after easier to catch survivors with probably less experience. There's only so much I can do with worthless survivors.

i have about 1800 hrs in DBD i would estimate i play like 70 % killer and 30% survivor

but lately to be fair, and i hate to say it, i couldnt play more than couple of matches as survivor, i just couldnt handle how noob my teammates were so it kinda make me uupset and go back to playing killer more.

now hopefully the new MMR is not just fake news, and we get to be put with people similar to our skills, that should fix the solo q problem, but untill then i agree with you its bad, and if i try hard i know i can win almost everygame, as survivor, but why would i try so hard, and whats fun in playing like that, i play killer which i main anyway.

Yeah, I've been playing for three years and have around as much time as you in this game, and survivor has just been super unenjoyable lately. I don't need to win 100% of the time, but survivors these days are acting more selfish than ever. There is no reason the killer gets a 4k when I got hook saves, cleansed totems and finished 2 of the 4 generators that were completed. Why are survivors acting so scared?

Or because (my case) most of my friends don't have that much time to play video games since they are working or studying for college. Also, most of them don't own a PC to play this game or just don't give an F about video games at all.

Or they don't enjoy dbd anymore (This is me right now). I haven't opened the game in almost 2 months. I said i'm going to wait til this update to start again, but hey, desync is back so i'll pass again. My girlfriend still plays this game often (a few games every other day) and she calls me everytime from across the room "HEY, let's play dbd", but i know i won't enjoy it and i refuse. I prefer watching someone on twitch playing it rather than me

This is what I've run into. 4 of my friends won't touch this game again, no matter what. I have one friend that will occasionally play and it's just nice to have another player that you count on doing gens when you're giving the killer a good chase and vice-versa.

Try being a killer that can see people on 3 totems at the same time and can't defend all of them cause you can't be in 3 places at the same time?

Seriously I don't even know if you're pretending or you're serious at this point.

This isn't even some weird ass complex tech or anything it's basic use of common sense lmao.

If you have three people on totems, then you have a lot of survivors not on gens....that's good. Take out one of the survivors, probably one on a lit totem, and get your hooks started.

Now that is common sense man. If you can't play the game with out Undying/Ruin, then how did you play this game before? Because it's been put for 4 years, and this is just a recent nuisance.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

    @Thasard

I will miss undying as a survivor, no longer can I max out bp on gens. It may have been to much for some survivors but I enjoyed the longer matches, waiting 5+min to play a game under 10 is a let down. A win but a let down.

Yeah I was making out those BPs TOO early on. Literally the last gen or two I'll hit a Great Skill check with Max point, switch to Good...damn, max points. I'd rather gen rush they killer of they're that bad and moving on to another game and max out points that way. I appreciate the Streamers that refuse to run that build because they don't enjoy going after it either.

And DS, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, 4 man SWF, Keys are perfectly fine.

Insane how delusional and disconnected from this game you are. If your biggest concern was a perk that can be countered 100% not even by a perk by a MAP then your opinion is very literally worthless.

Try countering a perk with a killer that continuously comes back to totems because they see someone on it. It made the games unbearably long. And players only carry Unbreakable / DS because they get tired of constantly being tunnelled, face camped and slugged. But, forcing a perk to survive an entire round because you won't let us cleanse totems or finish gens with your tinkerer is healthy gameplay. Sure....

  • Don't get in a game with me. I always cleanse totems for the Hex Abuse over the months. Sometimes I get real cheeky and bring Small Game for those new maps.

  • Undying was bad for the game and needed to be nerfed. If you thought it was fine, then you were bad for the game too.

  • #1 thought behind it is to give a killer an extra hit, especially if 3-4 of you are escaping.

After that, if I can get some extra heal points, or even a protection hit while in there, I'll do that too, but most often, for me, it's #1 above.

  • Nope. That Deathslinger who DCd because we happened to find his Hex Undying and Hex Ruin in the first two totems right as he knocked his first survivor down, deserves to be penalized for quitting right there. There's nothing that says he wouldn't get a couple kills at least. Play the game. Don't quit just because something didn't go your way.

  • It. Was. Nerfed.

    Welcome. To. The. Game.

They've already addressed this perk when it used to be a given to the obsession before even first hook, and there was this dribble that killer's did to try to take it away. Now they just slug. Where's my paused timer when left on the ground?

  • This is finally the way moris should be. Just before someone is taken out of the game, you get to show off a unique kill instead of eating or waiting out the decisive, taking the time to get them to a sabo-ed hook.

It's really disheartening to watch someone play the game only to have an immediate screw-up that gets them hooked, and then tunneled off of hook and moried. Maybe if less people did this, this change would have been unnecessary. If this is completely acceptable behavior to you, then you're the reason changes like this are being made.

We didn't wait 5 to sometimes 15 minutes for a lobby for a less than 5k point round. This is the change that should have been in the game years ago. I'm hoping I can get friends to play again with this fix in place.

  • I wouldn't mind a basement update. Give it a secret exit point. Make it so there's only one unbreakable hook. The game is now designed to punish killers for camping so they need to update this aspect of the maps.

  • It's no different than any other killer. You should be able to jump into a locker last minute to see if you can confuse the killer long enough for your Head On to activate or your Inner Strength to complete. It feels very cheap when Victor can hit you in the locker because you weren't as clever as you thought, especially considering this is a bug killers are taking full advantage of.

Actually I don't think it will improve much. This looks like the worst killer to date. Even Legion looks stronger than the twins. They're perks aren't even that good either. I don't picture many people buying them to use them or to unlock their perks for the real killers.

I'm buying them because I think their perks are good, plus this new killer isn't being embraced because they're good killers, but because of the unique gameplay that they offer. It's more of an enjoyable killer regardless of final match outcome.

  • I'm sorry, but until you consistently wait 20-30 minutes for a lobby, I'm not listening to this. I'm sure your lobby times will improve win the twins are released.

  • Yeah, it would be great if they reworked it to actually worked so you're not exhausted on ground 5 out of 6 attempts at using it. Precisely why I don't bother running it. It's too finicky.

  • When the majority of matches you queue up in share this combo, it not only gets frustrating, but really boring too. I literally set out most matches and just hunt down all the totems to take this power away.

No combined perk power should be so strong that I anticipate it every time I queue up in a match.

i disagree i have quite the blast playing Among us with just text chat.

well if you didnt read it then i wont bother explaining that i listed solo survivor buffs, SWF adaptive nerfs and specific killer adaptive buffs depending on how big of a SWF group you would be against or that for each SWF in the game the solo survivor or killer gets a bloodpoint boost.

i mean it be a waste since you didnt read ;)

Solo survivors do not need buffed. DC penalties need to return. Matchmaking needs to be improved. But solo survivors are fine. And I wouldn't nerf SWF either. You're making suggestions that have the likelihood to kill this game. If you have a bad round, queue up for another or take a break, they're not all going to be bad rounds.

Maybe go ahead and read what the post actually says. Theres alot of info your tiny brain prolly couldnt handle anyways 🤷

See if all you do is put people down to try to get your point across, no one is going to listen to you. So good luck with that.

  • Voice comms makes Among Us playable. Public solo matches are so unbelievably garbage. More DCs than a full day of playing DBD. And no I didn't read your short novella on your thoughts once you said there's be no tldr.

  • Like it's all about what the collective group wants and if that will break the game or not. When they introduced new gen sounds that sounded like a funky car, but we weren't fixing a junker in autohaven, we let them know this was a bad addition, and that went away with the next fix.

  • Haha, we were just talking last night about when Undying gets nerfed after it's been in the game long enough for the Devs to review. Here's the thing players, if you're getting a lot of 3-4k with that combo, you can bet something will be nerfed. The rounds aren't meant to take 20-30 minutes.

  • 80% of killers user PGTW, 3% of survivors use OoO. Yeah, makes sense to me.

  • Excuse me as I go check what this nerf to Pop is so I can celebrate with my SWF Escape Squad.

  • This is why killer mains aren't asked to help work on survivor perks.

  • This combo is essential when you get tired of getting tunnelled and/or slugged. Maybe I'd like to say f- you to the killer for tunnelling me off hook. Maybe I don't feel like crawling on the ground until you feel like picking me up. I'm playing a game, and these perks are only equipped to counter your toxic playstyle.

And if you hook someone, then hook someone else, then end up finding that first survivor...what, you have to wait maybe 15 seconds and then pick them up? And that's why you're crying like a baby? Maybe you should try a different game. I'd rather devs focus on actual problems like the hook bug, and invisible map barriers that keep you from moving.

  • Yes! This!

Please change the gen sounds back. I liked the initial changes you made, but this new change is super annoying. I was playing ina SWF, and everyone finds this so annoying. Like if you want us to play your game less, having to hear this car engine flooding / horse whinnying is definitely gonna help.

  • We have very little to do in this game outside of generators. If you're not applying pressure, the gen rush is going to happen. Like it's as simple as that. Take off your NoEd and actually give you a perk that benefits you throughout the game, not just on the last 5 minutes to save a truly shite game.

I had a game last night where the killer dedicated himself to one survivor who just completely outplayed him. We got 2 gens done. But the chase continued. Somehow we all got on a gen and between the time he downed that 1 survivor and hooked him, gens 3, 4, and 5 popped.

The biggest thing a killer has to learn is when to give up on a chase.

  • They need more maps, not less. This game become so boring when the algorithm isn't random enough. We end up just selecting maps because getting the same map over and over again is super annoying.

  • I don't even need to finish reading this to know that it is tunneling in all the reasons you give, but keep telling yourself what you want to hear.

  • 1) After cleansing 3/2/1 totems, the Killer's aura is revealed for 3/4/5 seconds.

    2) Or as an alternate totem perk: after cleansing a totem, you receive a temp speed boost, and then exhausted for the normal time.

    3) Resourceful - Give survivors the ability to pry open doors. Should take the time of opening a chest just so it can't be done in time if you're in chase.

    4) When a survivor fast vaults over a window, the entity blocks off the nearest doorway forcing the killer to use an alternate route or follow through the window. May be a bit of a loop killer though.

  • I would be shocked if they didn't clean his movement up after people complained that the shakiness was making them feel sick.

But I'm shocked at everyone saying this is a cash grab. If I wanted him and the new survivor, there would be no actual money spent on my end...if you're buying your Iridescent Shards, you're not playing enough.

  • Fun: Hillbilly, Nurse, Pig, Shape, Demogorgon, Trapper, Clown, Plag,

Okay: Doctor, Hag, Shape, Deathslinger, Legion, Pyramid Head

    Between these: Huntress, Freddy, Oni

    DC: Ghostface, Spirit, Wraith, Leatherface,

  • Like I am fine with this, if we can somehow access a different survivor's bloodweb to spend bloodpoints. That's 90% of why I change survivors in that screen because I don't want to further delay queue time, but I also need to spend bloodpoints. (The other 10% is if I see a Bunny Ming and I can't stop myself to switch onto my Bunny Ming. Sisters!)

  • You do realize that the majority of new perks are pretty much garbage... Like they can't create amazing perks that then every killer will run. Because if that happened, they would then have to nerf that perk like they do for anything that becomes meta.

  • Like it was nice when we were all playing to get the crown cosmetic, but recently I had a game where I realized the killer was farming and I just did the gens on my own and got out ASAP. Sorry if it ruined their fun, but I waited in a queue to play the game and had no interest in a free pass, yet I'm also not going to DC for a penalty either.

Old DS was like being locked in a cage

New DS is like being locked in a basement

And when we request to not be locked in the basement, you respond with "How about you go back to the cage ;) ;) ;)"

If it acts like it deserves to be caged, it should be in a cage. ;)

"Just don't slug or tunnel, Mr. Killer. Hook every one of us clockwise by name and always go for a 12 hook game. We'll use our immunity bubble to bodyblock, harass and do gens in your face, but that's perfectly fair and trying to punish us for this is toxic :) :) :) :)"

It takes an insanely warped perception of this game to think this loadout is fair

We can always go back to old DS if you really want to use this forum to whine. Then all you'll have is slugging, nevermind tunneling.

"Stop slugging and tunneling" really? I dont agree with the guys killer loadout but the entitlement is real in that comment , most good killers may not tunnel but they definitely slug, it's a very good strategy, unbreakable +ds is one of the strongest combos in the game that force the killer to leave you alone even if you're in their face trying to get tunneled, I'm ok with the perks separate but that combo is literally an example how bot survivors with no skill end up in red ranks they sure cant stay up in a chase or that combo wouldn't benefit them

Same response goes to you. The most capable killers I've played against in PS4 red ranks don't slug...except for the 4k, I'll give you that because a lot of people don't want to lose a survivor to the hatch if they couldn't manage to even get enough gens done.

Also, why do you think survivors have adapted to that combo? Because they got sick of being tunnelled off the hook and/or slugged. I don't typically run either, but I will if I've had some crappy tunnel games in a row. I'd like points too.

  • @metalklok said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1440744#Comment_1440744

ds unbreakable combo is literally unavoidable after an unhook. You down them and pick them up then they ds you or you can slug them and wait it out or leave either way it plays into unbreakable and you wasting time why? because you are winning.

I'm sorry, why are you downing the survivor within 60 seconds of unhooking? Couldn't find the person that unhooked them or anyone else in the map when you left the hook initially?

As a red rank PS4 survivor, I can tell you the most capable killers don't play to this style (Pyramid Head aside since he has a power that counters either perk). I typically don't run either perk because I usually get tunnelled/slugged maybe 10% of the time. The only time you see me running it is when I've had game after game of being tunnelled.

If you opt to go for an injured survivor when you have other options, then you can't complain about the unfairness because you are literally tunneling that player and giving them no chance to earn more points.
