You must not be red ranks.
I can predict 75% of players builds before the trial starts (BBQ, Ruin and Pop)
I wish behaviour would do something about this extremely boring meta.
I am well aware survivors have a meta as well, and I hate it.
Things need to be mixed up.
Nope, I used to be red ranks but now I try not to get that high up. It's not worth the longer wait times and facing the same build after build. Except now I'm in ranks that are predominant trappers, but at least queue times as survivor on PS4 aren't AS long at this rank. With the new ranking system, it might be harder to avoid red ranks if I only have to build up 4-5 levels instead of 10, but hopefully queue times won't suck so hard then.

The killer challenges are the only ones with actual difficulty and not artificial difficulty, imo, which is my problem with the tome. Well that and it adds real world politics into their game, which I disagree with real world politics being added to any game. Games are for fun.
As for what I mean about the artificial difficulty. It's not really HARD to use self care 2 times in a match. You probably won't win that game if all you brought was self care without a med kit or anything, but it's not really HARD. Safe unhooks basically ensures people bring BT and farm people off hooks. Most of the survivor challenges basically require you to play in a way that's abnormal and/or self defeating, while most of the killer challenges I can complete by playing normally.
Yeah I do see that I'm making more dumb plays for the killers benefit so I can get as far on the survivor tasks as possible.

I believe the 27th of this month.

+1 all challenge almost complete only trap still not done yet... I dunno what this BE expect us to do this almost impossible legendary rarely ultra hard quest..
I've still got a few tasks left to do. Some may be ultra hard, but I think I can get them done before the next Tome is released. This is definitely not something new players or people who don't play the game daily will be able to ever proceed in.
-
My boyfriend tries to get me to prestige all the time, and no thank you, I could care less about a bloody costume, I'd rather put effort into getting multiple characters with every decent perk in preparation of Tome tasks in the future.
-
BL has been trash for awhile. I stopped bringing it between maps with few drop downs, and drop downs that don't work when you need it to work and get downed without the boost.
If I'm using an exhaustion perk, I'm bring Lithe, that's helped me out of trouble multiple times.
Though reading this thread, I absolutely want killers to be stalled when they drop down. I've always thought it was dumb they didn't get penalized for that.
-
I think the husk mechanic would be a better correction. Otherwise bonus stacks should not just be given out. Jump back in and get it next time.
-
I agree that these tasks are pretty awful, but there's always been a game in this bug that people come back to.
My friend wanted to SWF, and I said, "ok, but I'm sabotaging the game". Game 2 I get the Shape to chase me almost the entire game as I dropped 9 pallets, and for some reason he broke every one. The end result was that all other Survivors escaped right as I was getting hooked. So I really just sabotaged my own game.
Then I played killer and spent devastating amount of time getting survivors in the basement. I hooked the same survivor twice down there and wasn't sure that was enough, so I found a different survivor to guarantee I got the task done. End result was 2-3 escapes. Pretty bad for my Wraith gameplay, but they did find Ruin early on and I did waste a lot of time going to the basement multiple times.
-
Stop putting so much value in Pipping. I'm happy to depip with lots of bloodpoints. It was cool the first couple times to get to Rank 1, but all you get for it is sweaty killers and long lobby times. The devs need to work on adding an incentive for rank before reset, otherwise there's still no value to being a high rank then have to grind right back up.
-
My BF bought me the Battle Pass, so we'll see how it goes. As it stands, I already got to level 20. And it's nice that the Tome helps further your progress, but I am nervous how much harder the Tome will get based on the sneak peek of the 4th level.
I honestly don't care about the cosmetics. I just like the added tasks to play. It just might bother my completist gene when I can't finish then.
-
This is a moot conversation. I have brought so many keys into a game and either:
A) Died before the hatch was revealed
B) Never found the hatch (These are such a pain to find)
C) Didn't need to use the key and waste it (or an add-on) so I just left out the door
The key is fine as is, it guarantees nothing with bad gameplay. Even if you get out, if you're not survive with friends it's really hard to let people know, "I've found the hatch, let's go". This game needs to stop making changes because survive with friends abuse it.
When I put on an Ebony Mori there are only two outcomes I've had:
A) 3k
B) 4k
I don't like using Ebony Mori's because it does directly affect other players BP earnings, but when the Rift gives you tasks like kill all four survivors in one match... it's just an easier way to accomplish the task.
-
Self care is garbage, but i don't need everyone switching to Inner Strength and stealing all my totems. More and more people are cleansing all the totems in fear of NoEd, so inner strength has officially become a good perk only in early game. But I do hate self-care now. I've died on the hook watching people self-care instead of saving or getting gens done so someone can get out...
-
It is sad how much of the community plays GF fully knowing he's very much broken. At least the inconsistency runs both ways.
-
The phrasing is fine, but I still took it as bring your best killer and an grind for an Ebony Mori because you're a survive main and you're only attempting this once. o:-)
Dreading pretty much all of the fourth time tiers requirements O_o
-
Jump into a game with me on PS4 when I attempt to do Huntress's daily, it will be like I'm AFKing. >.<
-
When I'm playing survivor, I'm always wary when I bust Hex Ruin and/or the first gen being done without a hooked survivor. The killer DC for this is thankfully not as frequent as before.

Bruh. I wanna drop pallets on survivors stupid little heads with my mind powers. I didn't even know I wanted this but I really do.
Sorry, those aren't for you.
-
Pretty sure they're not banning PS4 players due to the frequency of both killer and survivor DC's both in game and in the loading screen. Last I heard reporting someone on PS4 is still not being reviewed.
-
Seriously watch YouTubers and Twitch Streamers. I watch videos on DBD around as much as I play and have definitely learned tips/secrets that are not apparent. I am a pretty good survivor because of that, and I'm getting better with certain killers. I will say, because of how much this game can change update to update, that you really may want to focus most of your watching to current videos to understand current meta, etc.

I had one guy call me a camper because he died and one time i put down 2 bear traps near him when he was hooked and left
No offense, but that is legitimately how the trapper camps so he doesn't have watch the hooked survivor. He just waits for his well placed trap to be released or an unsuspecting survivor to get caught in it on their way to save, and that's enough warning for the killer to return and pretty much guarantees another hooked survivor.
Not saying you shouldn't do that (I've caught two survivors in traps heading to save the hooked survivor), but don't kid yourself that you aren't camping because you left the area.
-
Legitimately will not pay a penny until I know I can proceed to the end of the rift. I really don't give a flying F- about costumes and charms. I'm really just interested in doing the Tome. And when the tasks becomes impossible as I've been told it will, then I can take a break and do something else.
-
And yet I don't have enough digits to count the number of times my fellow survivors allowed me to do on first and second hooks. This task needs to remain higher than doing a gen or what have you. I'd rather be farmed than left on the hook. And even the current BP incentive is not great enough for people to even bother.
-
That's a good survivor scor- oh, wait, you were the killer and got 4k. Oh well.
-
I've got it! They can switch keys to turn on generators to speed up the gen fixing process, and then you won't have to worry about those pesky hatches again or those long matches. Solution found. You're welcome!

I can live with that! Totems on these maps tend to either be in the corners where nobody goes or in the middle field where it's dangerous to treat. I'll agree they aren't in obvious places like in Crotus Penn or Rotten Fields though, which means you actually need to go out of your way to find them most of the time.
They're not as bad as the new Badham spawns, but they definitely break the mold of searching for spawns like you would in other games, with the exception of one or two if they spawn near a gen or in the shack.
Badham is near on ridiculous. I was SWF with a friend the other day and he caught me going into the large black bush in the map because Small Game triggered and was shocked because you probably wouldn't even have known there was a curve in that bush if you didn't look at it precisely in the right direction.

While the hatch can be rough to find, totems are not. This is without small game. Swamp maps aren't difficult to find ruin or any other hex on.
Agree to disagree.
-
Yeah...that is late, but I usually play 7-10 pm in EST, and I still usually have a 5 minute wait time on PS4. I tested my friend's PC and got a lobby in less than 30 seconds. I don't even get a killer lobby that fast on PS4, and I try to avoid killer as long as possible.

Anyone have advice for Adept David? I haven't attempted yet. Maybe I do 2 gens and hide?
Survive...
Seriously though, rank reset is the perfect time as you will likely get paired with a bad killer that you and your team can work together to escape from.
Bring a key for the hatch, or a massive toolbox to help your team gen rush.
But, yeah, survive...which can literally be done perkless so at least you'll have the three to play with.
-
MoM was his only good perk so of course it got nerfed. Don't waste your money. This character's perks are all horse crap and I strongly regret spending my money for him. He will sit in the menu screen until a time he doesn't suck, which will likely be never.
-
I don't believe you're estimates. 3 gens could not be done when you downed a survivor in 30 seconds with Ruin active. That's not how any of this works. I'd be more inclined to believe that it took you 30 seconds to find someone, 45 seconds to hit them twice, and 10 seconds to hook them. And even then, I find it hard that 3 gens will be done. Even with my Commodious Toolbox with two speed add-ons, I still couldn't get a gen done in 30 seconds, and that's even if I hit all the Ruin Checks on great. Clip or it didn't happen.

Depends on the map most of the time on how long ruin lasts. The Game has some really nice spots, while some of the older maps just plop totems in the middle of an open field. The new Badham rework made afew of the spots pretty good.
Yes, but having them in an open field also makes it easier for the killer to patrol.
-
Well, rank reset is when you are unequally paired up with people you should have no right to be paired with.
When you go in as a Rank 2, you should be playing with Ranks 8 and up. When you drop down to 10, you should be playing with Ranks 16 to 4 per matchmaking. Even though there are some deviations because survive with friends and the game literally trying to find you a game before you quit and play something else, you are still likely to play with players that will pummel you.
Also, it doesn't matter when in the month I play, provided the game is working (there have been a lot of game forced DCs as of late on PS4), I'm always playing to immediately destroy Hex: Ruin because most killers check that first and then I go where they are running away from, and then gen rush to attempt someone from escaping.
-
No, this is dumb. From a survivor main. The killer either needs to break it, or mind game the survivor, or bloodlust while looping it.

I agree with this for the most part.
I don't know if I agree with all of these assessments, but no swamp map is survivor favored. Try finding a hatch or totems on those ridiculous maps. The swamp maps are definitely in the bottom 5 maps for this survivor main.
-
Hatch shouldn't spawn until the right number of gens are completed, BUT even then bring back hatch stand offs, find me a killer camping a hatch, and I'll have a better chance of opening an exit than I do now.
-
#1: Getting players safe from camping killer or at least sacrificing myself to take their place, I'm fine with that.
#2: BPs
#3: Pipping until I get to red ranks and then only regrets
-
Right...just like Ruin isn't a crutch perk for players who select killers who can't map control...
-
Honestly the ability to converse after game should be eliminated. That would do away with a lot of the negativity people think they need to bring to the game. And I wish I could have a unique name separate from my PS4 name so they can't message me their toxic messages.
-
First off: If you have a game with 1 survivor left and he's doing a gen...he's playing it wrong. Thanks to EGC, he should be looking for the hatch or most likely if they don't know where it is, waiting at a door for once the killer closes the hatch.
Finally, no. There are perks that help you extend game play, Ruin, Thanataphobia, and now Dying Light. If you struggle getting any/many kills, that's a you problem. I'm a survivor main, but I've still gotten 4 kills with killers I am good with. (The other killers I try not to even touch because I will get decimated unfortunately.) And I've gone against plenty of killers who don't need Ruin and get their 4k, although meta right now is Ruin, Dying Light, BBQ, and a 4th I don't remember. So if you need help to prolong the game a bit, run this until you're more confident playing killer. Devs are busy making other changes to the game in attempt to take your money and keep it fresh so they can continue making changes to this game.
-
This has been my experience on PS4 since the Strangers Thing chapter. It's become increasingly frustrating just to enter into a game. :-[
-
Some of these responses are exactly why I went to this click bait. And now I don't have to say them myself. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
-
That's what alert was with old Freddy, you got a sound alert and nothing else. It was always so annoying having it and finding out the killer was Freddy. I'm actually bummed with this Nerf. But there are plenty of counter able perks to equip instead.
-
I mean I do hate that they haven't brought in any unique characters and the last 5 have all been pay to play, but if licensed characters bring new blood and with it shorter wait times, I'll try not to complain as long as the game is still getting updates.
-
I just used them for BPs from the Shrine as well. But I'm also not cosmetic motivated. I'm fine with what I can but with shards just so I can look different from time to time. I'm more BP motivated.
-
If you play through every month, it's a one time pay. By playing through, you will get the monetary means to buy the next month's.
I'm actually really excited about it, because I don't pay for cosmetics, so this is one way for me to get some, while having some challenges to motivate me to play, and hopefully that is encouraging other players to play thus hopefully reducing wait times.
I'm a completist, so I'm looking forward to the challenges, even if it means they make me play more killer.
-
He is one of the few killers I see in red ranks on PS4, right after Doctor, Freddy, and Nurse. Occasionally get Trappers, Billies, Bubbas, and Legions.

This game would not make sense in cross play. While I would love the shorter lobby waits there would be tiers of players:
PC
PS4 and Xbox
Switch
Seriously, has anyone seen this on Switch? The graphics are severely dumbed down for that platform and are fuzzier than what we work with. I don't know if that will be an advantage or disadvantage for them.
-
Has a survivor hooked and still has eyes on hex totem....players just want to whine these days...
-
It definitely motivated more play time and despite all the new bugs in the game, I somehow got in red ranks for survivor for the first time in months. No clue how many BPs I earned since I maxed Nea on all survivor perks, and did basically the same for Meg. Now on to David.

BBQ is necessary because of this game's ridiculous grind. The amount of BP rewarded per-match feels woefully inadequate without it.
This is just ignorant when killers usually get way more BP playing over Survivors. This perk should literally just give you extra BP like the David perk for survivors saving. All he gets is Extra BP, your perk actually gives you information to then get even more BP. 🙄
-
The amount of information is enough as is. Why do killer's know before finding a survivor that someone is running No Mither? And to dispute knowing if a survivor has DS, if you don't have an obsession perk equipped, but the screen is showing an obsession, there's your indicator that DS is in use, and also, 100% DS is active on at least 1 of your survivors in green and purple ranks. It's a nice penalty for tunnelling. First hooked survivors are trying to get points too. But totally understandable when fellow survivors farm them right in front of you instead of waiting for you to find new bait.
