FIRST!!! Thank you very much for the feedback! I’m very glad you enjoyed the concept and design. I would like to address your feedback in a manner that is both respectful and helps to explain my thought process. I think if I do that you might be able to help me further tweak and balance the killer.
This is a common theme with my characters. I feel after so many killers with an attack/lunge attack, the design is stale. I feel that using the lunge as a way to give a killer a a different method to harming or hindering survivors provides more gameplay options and thus more varying ways to approach a survivor than simply “how should I hit it?”.Mockingbird_X said:The way you describe Lunge is a power of it’s own.
I agree. But I left it as a passive power for a few reasons:Mockingbird_X said:Loa’s Favor
This sound more like a perk than a part of power.
1. It helps to give the killer map awareness since she has no “damaging lunge” which could help her end chases faster. So to compensate, she gets more awareness.
2. Making it a perk would, at least in my opinion, make it to powerful with other killers with more mobility and better damage capabilities (especially when they combo it with other perks).
I admit that this was a tricky one for me to balance. I had to keep in mind that I was balancing the power around a character who doesn’t have a gap closing attack. I think that her having to get in melee range, and still having to injure or hook a survivor to gain a token for the power is balanced around the “I can hurt you from anywhere” mechanic.Mockingbird_X said:Patchwork Dolls
This is very creative, I love it. The only caveat is that it does not help you until you've injured or hook somebody. Also I'm not a fan of this power being limitless (allowing you to stab and injure a Survivor remotely from anywhere on the map)
I toyed with the idea of having the killer’s ability bar light up when one of the survivor’s she has a doll for was in her terror radius and then she could activate that “I hurt you” mechanic so long as that survivor was still in her terror radius, but then that added another caveat to be able to use the power.
I would very much like to know what you think a good fix would be!
I thought so as well. The crows seem to be the Entity’s eyes and ears in the trials and it made me think that the Entity might get more and more anxious for a souls whenever the crows were alerted to a survivor. And since it’s a subtle way of stealing time that the survivors think they might have to get someone off a hook.Mockingbird_X said:Hex - On Death’s Wings
Unusual and interesting. Will probably be overlooked just like the Monstrous Shrine is at the moment.
This was one I thought would be one of the best kind games. Survivors tend to ignore dull totems in search for that brightly lit totem. So I asked myself “what if they were all lit?”. I think the answer becomes “chaos and desperation”, which I don’t think survivors at high level play really experience much.Mockingbird_X said:Hex - Light of the Loa
Super interesting! Love it.
Gen rushing can be pretty brutal. So multiple survivors on a generator sort of clicked with the killer’s backstory of a mob of people attacking one person. I thought that making survivors think twice about the punishment they might take for working together on a generator might also help to instill more tactical gameplay into a match as well as make them more paranoid about working with eachother.Mockingbird_X said:Righteous Fury
Strange, but good.
Again, thanks VERY MUCH for your feedback! I’d like to know what you think after reading my thought processes. Thanks again and i’m Super happy you liked the killer!

Also, I really like the perks.
I figured addons could make the flames less visible or add additional uses of them. But I don’t go over addons when I make a killer (mostly because I’m limited to using my phone and it’s a massive pain to do it all on the phone. XD) -

pretty balanced. But i’d Take away the option for the handcuffed survivor to remove the cuffs with a toolbox. Their hands are cuffed after all. -

I have an example that happened today for why I don’t like NOED.
I was having an awesome game. I had the Wraith on the corn map (name slips my mind right now). I was hit once, pulled three people off the hook, fully healed two people, completed 2 1/2 of the gens, cleansed two totems, and opened one of the escape doors.
After the door was open, I ran out to a hook that was in between both doors and unhooked one last survivor. On our way back to the open escape door the Wraith appeared only a few meters from the door. I was at full health and moved to go through the exit gates... and I got one shot to the dying state.
I did everything right. I did the objectives. I helped and supported my teammates. And I died from a one shot move because the killer was running a perk that made up for all the mistakes they made during the game.
NOED is a perk that says “no matter how bad you are and how many mistakes you make you can still get a free kill, and no matter how good you play you can still instantly die after you’ve done everything right” -
People want a new licensed killer, and the devs have said this will be the oldest killer in the timeline so far.
Could it be....IMHOTEP????

-
Pretty much this. Youbhave time to be on the hook befor you even need to be rescued. While you hang there, the killer is occasionally looking to see if you’re being rescued or not, which wastes precious seconds.branchini1979 said:It is certainly frustrating. As a solo survivor if player hooked I follow the mantra.
1. If on gen and more than 2/3rds done, do gen.
2. If opposite side of map, then assume furthest away player and do gen.
3. If fairly close to hooked survivor but on gen, do gen until survivor near 2nd stage and then go for save.
I know there is a variable if a killer is camping but for solo survivor I think that mantra is fair
And while you may not see the killer or hear the heartbeat, you be getting range camped. The killer might be just outside heartbeat range and waiting for someone to rescue you. Sonlong as the killer isn’t in heartbeat range of the other survivors while they’re doing gens, they should finish the gens before attempting a rescue because that helps everyone. -
Could just auto activate tier 3 Spies From The Shadows. LolNick said:Show a blinking aura every 5 sec, gates open after a minute. Survivor has to prove he deserves the escape, killer has to prove he dominated all 4. The end.
-
At that distance you wouldn’t be hearing the crows regardless. The only thing you would get is the visual. You probably wouldn't even see the bird itself. The idea is to give the survivors a way to give false information even when they’re on the opposite side of the map. Forcing the killer to try and decide on what’s good info and what’s bad info is built into the Effigy in this way. Too much of a good thing.HatCreature said:I saw you mentioned that the noise notification from the crows could be seen as a counterplay to the Effigy which makes sense, but what if there was ONLY the visual cue of the bird and no sound? 64m is pretty far and if you can't see distances very well you'll definitley see the bird and know someone is there. This way you'll have SFTS but it will be in a weaker? capacity and possibly still useful but not as annoying.

First, thank you very much for he compliment here. It was tricky trying to find out a way to make hooking a player somehow new and unique. I considered making saviors auras visible, but I figured that would make it too powerful. There are already perks that show where a savior is, so trying combine where would-be saviors are and where actual saviors are seemed like it would be too strong. I was trying my best to keep things fair and balanced.HatCreature said:
Also good job on your Hex, I've been wanting to create a Killer version of Kindred but thought it might be too powerful but you proved me wrong. I was thinking it would show the other Survivors everywhere but just near the hook is fine too, this way you'll know if someone is about to get insta-saved or if you have MYC and should start heading back. Also, maybe the Aura of the unhooker could be shown briefly after unhooking? I've been wanting to rework MYC with this effect but everyone says it's too much, your perk is perfect for it.
It’s a speed buff even after a full pallet stun duration (which is 2.5 seconds). Even if you break the pallet when the perk activates, you still have a .5 second speed boost (not much but it's still there). At tier 3 you have a 3.5 seconds speed boost (which is considerable). There are also a number of perks that will allow to instantly break pallets, somcombining the two effects didn’t seem fair since you could simply add multiple perks in your build.HatCreature said:One more thing, Broken Body, a lot of people break the pallet immediatley after getting stunned, maybe the timer should pause during a pallet break? Then again this would go great with Spirit Fury or Brutal Strength, overall these are great perks good job on this whole thing man, I finally found a Scarecrow Killer I actually like.
I’m really glad you liked the killer! He was fun to try and make and balance. I’m always trying to figure out how to balance him out and hopefully inspire the devs to simply take it and use it. Lol -
I guess i’ve Just never really encountered a time when going 20 seconds in complete stealth has been necessary (except during a Hatch stalemate but that’s a whole different can of worms). I’m not the best at judging time for stuff like this so good constructive criticism is always welcome. Would 10/25/50% be better? That would move it to 30 seconds before they appear.Snikers said:I've always liked the idea of a crow-focused killer, and I think it's executed well here. The perks are creative and effective, mostly without being overpowered, but I think the time reductions on Impatient for Meat might go a bit over the top. I mean, we're talking like twenty seconds at level 3 of the perk, making it basically impossible for a survivor to lose a killer through stealth.
Unlike Deerstalker, Carrion Crows wouldn’t highlight the auras of downed survivors. You’d still have to find the crows which I imagine would be circling closer to the ground (think Pig’s crouching height).Snikers said:I'm not sure if giving perks for free is the right option (and Carrion Circling is basically a free - and better - Deerstalker). Given Spies from the Shadows is already a non-unique perk, it may be enough just to have double crows on the map (and in fact, that in combination with SftS may have the opposite intended effect and make it impossible for the killer to focus through the nonstop notifications). I can tell flawless tracking is this killer's thing, but there has to be a limit.
I think you actually figured out why I doubled the number of crows and baked in SftS. All that input would force a the killer to try and sift through all the information to figure out where his priorities should be.
But like I said, I love constructive criticism and if you have any other suggestions or way to work things out I’d love to hear them. I just thought forcing the killer to have to prioritize which information is important and which is being created by the other survivors to throw him off. Since so many crows and alerts can be used against the killer as a counterplay.
I completely forgot to put a cool down into this (which I had meant to). I had meant to put in a 10 second cooldown. But you’re right that a crow needs to be within 20m to be used. But I also meant to add that the crows in range can’t be currently active with other abilities or effects (like being alerted to a survivor’s passing, triggering SftS, being used for Carrion Crows, Impatient for Meat, etc).Snikers said:Pecking Order is very interesting, though it needs a cooldown. Gameplay wise I think it would feel similar to Leatherface's chainsaw; an instant-down weapon that relies on catching its targets away from any vaults or pallets. It also introduces some interesting counterplays if the crow needs to actually exist within 20m (and presumably not have flown off).
I’d like to know more of what you think. And I’ll go ahead and add the additional conditions to Pecking Order.
The more it’s discussed, the more I’ll edit to make the Effigy as balanced as possible. -

Pinhead (or Chatterer since Pinhead is so damn powerful), Chucky, Jason, Gremlins, Xenomorph, Tall Man, Krampus
All of the killer you mention should be in the game except jason, jason need a really big map and I dont like him, anyways we already have the trapper
Jason is nothing like the Trapper. First, he doesn’t set traps...
Why would Jason need a big map?
Do you know a game called "friday the 13th", tell me what would be the jason power and perks? (not underpowerered perks)
Jason is a juggernaut and seems to be able to sense where people are and appear from nowhere. So I would venture the following:
Whenever Jason is the killer the map gains ten fog banks.
Juggernaut: Slow but steady, Jason plows through the most punishing of blows. Jason moves at the same speed as sprinting survivors but isn’t stopped simple things like walls. Stun and blinds effect Jason for 50% of their normal duration. Pallets that hit Jason are instantly destroyed. Valt Windows and walls are able to be walked through and permanently destroyed (they can no longer be used if destroyed this way).
Life Sense: Jason’s thirst for vengeance and death Whenever Jason injures or hooks a survivor he gains a token. Channeling this ability for 5 seconds removes one token but reveals the aura of all survivors for 10 seconds.
Where is he?: Jason always seems to appear where he’s least expected. Jason can remain still for 10 seconds before a map of the arena pulls up and he can choose one of ten fog banks around the map to teleport to.
I think that would be a pretty good generalized Jason. -
I suggest looking at people’s killer ideas. There’s tons in the fan Creation forums.

What about removing the Malicious point part and either removing or needing the killer stun?PiiFree said:@Tarvesh said:
As far as DS goes, what about making it so that the skill check bounces all over the screen. I mean, you are being carried on a moving Killer’s shoulder after all. It would only make sense that you wouldn’t have a precise target.I think the effect of DS itself is the problem. If you make it harder to hit the skillcheck, that will ultimately result in a nerf for the already lesser skilled players (because they wouldn't be able to hit the skill check) but the high skilled players would probably still hit it without problems.
The main problem I see with DS is that it rewards survivors that messed up while it punishes Killers for doing good.
Imagine a Killer getting 360 juked and as a result the Survivor lands on a hook the next time they get hit? That's the concept of DS, you mess up but you get rewarded for it and the opposite side gets punished. That's a major flaw in game design.
You can give the Survivor a reward for messing up, but it shouldn't punish the Killers. DS not only prevents Killers from getting a hook, it also makes them lose a point in Malicious. It instantly denies them 3 Malicious points, which is quite a lot for a single perk. 4 of them means 12 Malicious points lost and now keep in mind that 11 are required to get bronze, 36 to get iridescent.
So my solution to DS would be that it allows Survivors to escape the grasp but instead of denying 3 malicious points, it would actually give them one point instead.
Another buff could be that the Killers, after getting hit with DS, enter Bloodlust 3 and/or Survivors get Exposes status effect as a result.
This would not fix the thing regarding Malicious points though, but it would allow Killers to still get something in return for ending a chase successfully before getting DS'd.
The survivor is already resetting the chase. Why should the killer be stunned at the reset? This would make using DS more strategical as well because then the survivor would have to choose a good place to make the attempt. -
Instead of th hatch appearing at all. Happy now? Love responses with no actual comment or constructive criticism. Really helps a conversation.AlwaysInAGoodShape said:What about instead of the hatch appearing when only two survivors are left
What?
The hatch spawns when:
4 alive: when 5 generators are finished
3 alive: when 4 generators are finished
2 alive: when 3 generators are finished
1 alive: when 2 generators are finished -

What about making it so that no survivor in SWF can bring the same perk, or bring more than two of the same perks? That would generally be a good thing to do in regards to the SWF balance. DS on it's own needs another rework though.

Pig. Most all the other characters are just big and bulky.
Amanda with her mask looks completely different. Alien. Monstrous. Just inhuman enough to give you that creepy vibe when she comes charging in at you. -
That’s my way as a killer to tell you that you did a great job. No other way for me to tell you that during the match.Vietfox said:

What about instead of the hatch appearing when only two survivors are left, the gates open three minutes after the second to last survivor dies?
The timer can pause if (for however long) the last survivor hides in a locker, and can even begin to close if the survivor spends more than 20 seconds total in lockers.
If the survivor spends more than 20 seconds in the same area they immediately get three crows circling them.
This would ensure that both exits become open, there wouldn’t be a stalemate for a single spot on the map, and both players would have to continue moving and keep the game going until either the survivor escaped or the killers gets their 4K. -
Dat constructive criticism do! XDBillyBoiMain said:160% speed and immune to pallets, hard pass from me, sorry. -

I think the fans should be able to vote for every round. Maybe go like this:
Round One: Chapter Theme/map
Entrees describe a theme for a chapter without killer or survivor. Haunted mansion. Abandoned Subway. Post apocalyptic mall. Etc.
Round 2: Killer idea based of of the winner of Round 1. Entrees have to create a killer that fits the theme of the chapter and map.
Round 3: Survivor based on the winners of Round 1 and 2.
This would give people multiple opportunities to enter and win, making it more of a community contest instead of a single individual’s win. -
Yes and no. It does require you getting downed twice to get both counters, but you never have to be hooked.HatCreature said:So the power is completely overpowered. From my understanding, whenever you down someone you add 1 to their infection counter, so after downing them twice which is essentially 2 hooks they have 1 minute to get healed up or they die instantly and turn into a zombie. Now if this was always played fairly then each Survivor would get hooked twice then when they are unhooked they have 1 hook left but they need to get healed right away which can usually be done by their rescuer so it's fair and ok. But this is never played fairly so the Killer will never hook anyone, they'll slug everyone until they turn into zombies. I can go on but this right here is enough.
And so long as you’re healed, slugged or no, the infection counter will be taken away.
I am curious what you think the percentages should be for Shambler. Perhaps 8/16/25%? Or is that too low?
I think you underestimate how much fun this would be for a group of friends. XDSofaKingSpecial said:As long as swf is a part of the game this wouldn't work as a power. Those that turned into zombies would simply refuse to do anything and wouldn't move. Am I missing something?
