I did provide them with a list of the most pressing issues, that will hopefully get rectified in 9.2.2
-
The atmosphere, the fog, and the lighting.. Really missing the old versions of the maps, and how they used to be back in the day.
Felt more like a good old-fashioned horror game -

My ears genuinely hurting when I play against Doctor or when survivor/killer has screaming build. Many chases themes makes me feel confused time to time
I think it’s some personal sensory stuff, that inevitably influences on me. I really rely on sound a lot when playing both killer/sirvivor, and sometimes… honestly, feels like game isn’t really for me physically :( I really love Rebecca but gosh this girl is so loud. At least my killer main is kinda silent enough.
But we have something much worse than Seagull…

Every person who loadout with scene partner on her… without any jokes, what… wrong people in your lobbies did to deserve this?
Lisa Garland, or better known as "The Queen of Screams"
I would also say that Claire Redfield, and Feng Min are pretty high up there too, with their high-pitched screams as well. Then you have the outright funny ones, like Claudette, Mikaela and David
now I have to make a tierlist of screams -
I'm 35 myself, and my original Steam account is from 2004 (though I had to make my current main in 2011)

If I find a sable/meg that does down in less than 30 seconds I have found the weak link. You dont always have to check all 4 players to find who isnt aware of their surroundings. With this said, yes a lot of killers just tunnel from the get go and it actually is what makes them lose, however what some person said in the threat is true, if you are a good looper, you will not get tunnel or if you do it will guarantee the killer loses, how do you get better? By being chased, so if you are getting tunneled you can learn how to loop better each time.
But if the killer doesnt let you do that, join a ladder discord and practice, I promise a week playing ladder will make sure you are better than 95% of all your teamates and tunneling wont be an issue.
Be wary around Sables. You'll never know if you find a bad one, or if you will find a cracked one.

Why don't you take your own advice, mate? The forums are not now, nor have they ever been free of biases. Least of all now when they're mostly just a Survivor echo chamber.
Well, if you took a breather and took in some context of what is causing the survivor players to echo in this "chamber", you'd have stopped mentioning it all the time now, wouldn't you?
I've said it before, and I will say it again: Survivors has been complaining since the release of 9.2.0 (and during the PTB test period when it got known that anti-tunnel got postponed), because this patch which was supposed to fix the one thing that has been most frustrating for survivor players to deal with for many years at this point, turned out to be the inverse instead. Of course that causes EVEN more frustration.

I remember years ago when they announced the prestige rework and how we'd get a "distinct reward" and I was hoping for legacy cosmetics 2.0 or something to show how long we've played and how we prestiged before it was practical. 2025, all we have to show for it is character portraits no one else can even see. I get they don't want anyone to feel left out (except for poor people lol) but then why do players still have 2016 legacy cosmetics? I'm not asking BHVR take them away, quite the opposite, lets add some for 2022 as well.
Now you can prestige to 100 for absolutely nothing. I did it, I prestiged both Cheryl and Legion all the way to 100 and all I got was people in end game going "lol u spend so much time in this game" it's not bragging rights, even if it was, that is not enough. Why can you pay for auric cells and get a cosmetic, but you can't be loyal to the game for years and get a special cosmetic for that?
Why do they keep adding licenses you have to pay for that don't even suit the game? I mean can you imagine when the Halloween chapter released looking into the future and seeing DBD has Kaneki chasing Nicholas Cage on a bright corn map? I said before, successful does not mean good. DBD isn't even the smash bros of horror, it's the Fortnite of "horror" and I wanna see this game have an actual vision and love, not to be milked for money and new players while people who have stayed loyal to the game for years watch it get force fed another license with a killer that's an abomination of other killers that are already in the game. I don't even see love for some of these licenses, Spring Trap, for example, got a boring map and recycled powers.
Why don't they try buffing the more unique characters that have been in the game for years? I don't mean re-working into another dash killer (Micheal) I mean actually give them the love players have begged for for literal years. You could have started with just buffing Micheal's stage 1. You could give Legion a longer frenzy and make them able to see blood. You could make some of trapper's add ons base kit, but no they wanna add more boring killers so people who like the other franchises stop by and play their game.
I get people are constantly complaining about this and that, but this game feels like a soulless cash grab.
Or just delete Sable Ward, then we're good.Or just delete Sable Ward, then we're good.
I don't agree with this statement 🙃 but I do agree with some of your post.
As someone who got to P100, and dedicated time into a character, I too feel that there should be better rewards for doing so. Like I have mentioned before in other threads, there should definitely be a cosmetic reward for P100.
Not sure about the tighter licenses, but some of them I am sure could get a special prestige cosmetic to show off some dedication with.
Now, it so happened that I decided to go all the way with Sable, and get her to P100. So, I don't think they should delete her -

This is a bandwagon argument, and there's a reason it's a logical fallacy.
This forum is little more than a Survivor main echo chamber. If your post makes Killer look bad or Survivor look good, you get lots of upvotes and everyone will agree with you, no matter how rude, dishonest or logically unsound it may be.
If your post does the opposite, however, even if you're simply stating the obvious, you can expect tons of downvotes, people calling you all sorts of rude names, twisting your words, making wild accusations… not exactly the best environment for diversity of thought.
Why would I listen to people who tell me I'm wrong and call me rude names no matter what I say or do, unless I uncritically praise Survivor and badmouth Killer?
This forum is little more than a Survivor main echo chamber.
Excuse me?
Were you around when the 9.2.0 PTB was announced in the start of this month?
It was pretty much nothing but killer mains defending tunneling. -

Well, gen could regress on their own better before 6.1.0, as ruin was 200% before that patch. In 6.1.0. ruin was 100% and turned off if someone dies. Eruption was quite stupid at the time but at least it required the killer to get a down. Camping was much easier before 6.1.0 than after it. And one year after came the anti-facecamp feature.
In the situation you describe, survivors could do even less before the 6.1.0 because there was no basekit endurance and the killer could just hit the hooked survivor after the end of the animation and get them back on the hook if they did not have DS. The gen kick meta was horrible, the worst thing that came with that patch, but it was changed with time.
Fun is something we can discuss because it has some subjective elements, but, at least for me, DBD is quite fun still. When its not i will just quit the game, as i did with other games i've played through my life.
I rather much more play the 2025 DBD than the 2020 version.
Edit: I understand we have different views on the matter, i am just trying to prove my point.
I might not agree with you, but the main takeaway was that old DBD used to be more fun and silly, since both sides had agency. Nowadays it feels like only the killer players has agency, and the survivor side gets progressively more and more frustrating to play as a result. That is anything but healthy if you ask me.
In any case, we kinda need a "reverse 6.1.0", which was the intention for 9.2.0. -

I totally understand the concerns with OTR, Tenacity and the new Killer (i havent played her or against her but seems to be absurdly broken as far as i heard), but then again i don't get the uproar about the changes reverted.
This forum was flooded with people asking them to not go live with these changes. Reddit was flooded with people asking them to not go live with these changes. So they don't and…. everyone is mad again?
I would get it if the complains were "only" about OTR, Tenacity and the new killer, but i don't get why they also involve the changes getting reverted which is exactly what the community screamed them to do.
The forum was likewise flooded with people argumenting against the changes being pulled as well.
Though, the loudest complaints were those coming from killer players who defended their unfun playstyle with tooth and nail.I was not mad about tunneling and slugging being addressed, since being on the receiving end of that is absolutely the worst part of the game as a whole. I playtested a lot during the PTB, and I had no problem as killer in the test patch, with the anti-tunnel/anti-slug measures in place. Maybe because I don't tunnel to begin with, so I never got intentionally hit by the punishments. I did test it against bots though, and it went from a guaranteed win, to a 1-2 out for them. Completely fair if you ask me.
Granted, I do agree that some of the numbers needed a tone-down, but the system should never had been removed outright. It would have been much better to tweak it a little, released it onto live, and then fine-tune it from there. It would have caused MUCH less frustration than the current version of the patch has, since it became the inverse of what was intended.
A patch meant to deal with the most frustrating aspects of playing survivor, instead became more fuel for the frustrating things. That is the whole story. It also hasn't helped that since the PTB announcements early this month actually caused a rise in tunneling and slugging, as a form of "protest", which has made survivor gameplay absolutely miserable. The Krasue launch has also not been very helpful, due to the plethora of unnecessary buffs she got. Including the one that gave her free HugTech™ in loops.
So now you probably see why we want a system in place that finally addresses the main problem of survivor gameplay. -

Wazzzzaaaaaap!
I love that they got that mask into the game. Easily one of my all-time favorite cosmetics -
I played her for one match last night, and I ended up getting flamed so bad in the end-game chat for just playing her.
I ran a pretty meme-worthy build too, where I played around Undetectable and Oblivious. No tunnel, no camp, no excessive slugging. I don't want to abuse the "zero counterplay" build.Hell, even two of the survivors got out (the map was RPD West), but that wasn't enough.
-
I would have loved a P100 cosmetic for characters, in addition to the badge and banner (definitely needs to be an animated one though).
A cosmetic that was somewhat like the legacy ones, something unique that showed your dedication to "your" character.
Or something funny, akin to the Completionist T-shirt from GTA Vice City. -
Definitely a visual bug, as you can tell from the pixelated lighting on the killer's hand.

Sorry for not being specific. I usually play killer, skull merchant before her nerf. After her nerf, I dropped playing her for ghoul after he came out because I am a fan of Tokyo Ghoul, but people would be rude to me and i just lost my will to play him. I have swapped between killers (Unknown, Trickster, Springtrap and many more) but wasn't finding much enjoyment in playing them. So when the new killer came out, I was excited, but now she is just another ghoul situation where people be rude to you and give up because you play her. The final straw for me was the increase in pallets as it makes the killers i already enjoyed even worse. I hope this gives better info than i did originally.
I think Ghoul just suffers from players abusing his strength, which is why survivors seem to express a lot of hatred towards the players. The same rings true for Krasue, sadly. And the release buffs really didn't help that cause.. cough cough … hug-tech™
I too am a fan of the Tokyo Ghoul series, and I really liked the design of Kaneki, which is very true to the anime. Aside from the super annoying (and loud) screaming he does all the time, which made me get Rize instead. But back to the point. I think it also boils down to personal playstyle, like if you play with an "efficient" mindset or not (which means tunneling and such strategies), and the fact that these killers are heavily stigmatized by the community, for being very hard to counterplay against. Which is what happened with release Skull Merchant, and the infamous Chess Merchant build.
I too enjoyed the original Skull Merchant, but not for abusing 3-gen defense.
Even to this day, people really don't like Skull Merchant, even though Chess Merchant has been dead and buried for several years at this point.
Ghoul is just overtuned, and too easy to get free hits with his power. Once that is fixed, I think he would be in a much better spot, and not be that complained about. And the same is true for Krasue. They just made her way too easy to play, and the only counterplay gets nullified by two perks. That is the main debate around her at this point, and why people tend to DC if they see her in the game. The increase in pallets was more a band-aid fix to mitigate dead zones on certain maps, which is a change I support. Though, it also had the inverse effect of creating more "dead loops", so take that as you will.
Anyways, most of these pallets are pretty unsafe, and much easier to play around as compared to previous iterations. So if you have trouble with pallets, bring Brutal Strength and/or Fire Up.If you want to try a fun killer build, I would highly recommend Scratched Mirror Myers. It is too fun scaring the survivors, and the end-game chat is usually hilarious. Like these examples:
And lastly, do not take the rude comments personally. People are just tired of seeing overtuned killers in the game, that are frequently being played. Not to mention the postpones to the systems that were supposed to mitigate a lot of survivor frustration. All this has culminated into survivor players expressing a lot of frustration over the game. And like I said, don't take it personally, as it most likely has nothing to do with you, but the current state of the game.

Honestly, there's a killer for everyone. Try them out one by one, i guarantee you'll find one (or more) that you just click with. Recent killers have had alot of power creep, so if you work your way backwards then you'll probably find the older killers unappealing because alot of them require more game sense than more recent killers in order to get the best results. So I'd advise starting with the older killers and working your way up. Also, your experience playing survivor actually makes playing killer easier as you're familiar with all the tricks and hiding places lol
As someone who enjoys multiple killers, I'd say I agree with this statement.
@CrypticGirl
I highly enjoy playing Myers, and if you want to have fun, slap on Scratched Mirror and go to town. The amount of times I have gotten hilarious comments in the end-screen is more than I can count on both hands and feet combined.
Plus, it got buffed this patch as well, so if you want to scare the living daylights out of the survivors, go for it.
Also, I highly suggest trying out Wesker. He is really fun to play as, and feels very satisfying once you learn how to use his power. -

Dead Man's Switch is a gen defense perk, that was changed because of the basekit pop from the anti-tunnel update.
Leverage was changed because of the anti-tunnel update, because it was primarily used as a tunneling perk.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4005672#Comment_4005672
Do you know how many survivors don't value the stealth aspect of OTR, and get frustrated that the endurance portion is useless when a killer is tunneling them off a hook? A lot of survivors don't actually value OTR as a good anti-tunnel perk. Its popularity is often with survivors that want to combo it with DS, so they can weaponize two perks against the killer.
Compare this to Dead Man's Switch, which actually is a really amazing gen defense perk, and that is the most popular type of killer perk.
Dead Man's Switch got nerfed because of over-use.
It was like every game you'd see either Pain Res + DMS, or DMS + something else. It was rightfully brought down a peg. Not to become useless, but to become more fair.
Remember, Deadlock is 25 seconds on the most progressed gen, and that too sees a lot of use.
Grim Embrace is 10 (x3) seconds + 40 seconds for the last survivor, and that blocks EVERY gen on the map.
They also buffed Ruin, as well as Call of Brine. Not to their prime forms, but to something in the middle, that is actually usable.I also didn't mention Surge, which has also seen a massive spike in usage, and it is just as annoying as DMS. It hasn't been nerfed.
Literally, it was ONE perk that got adjusted to a more fair level.
And let's not talk about the elephant in the room, where survivors has gotten TWO perks completely gutted, but I guess you are too biased to see the full picture here. -

All I have ever wanted is better matchmaking. If you play Blight or Ghoul with four slowdowns then you SHOULD be matched with degenerate survivors in every match. You deserve to be stressed if you are sweating that hard against randoms. Anything is preferable to this mickey mouse matchmaking that we have right now. If people in the upper brackets have to wait 3-4 minutes longer for a match then so be it.
mickey mouse matchmaking
I had a genuine belly laugh when I read this. But yes, the matchmaking really needs to be tighter, like it used to be when ranks was still present in the game. Something like it used to be like in circa 2019, when you actually got put up against players of your rank.

Y’all get crumbs every update but still continue to queue up. It’s honestly courageous and sad at the same timeTruthfully, we are not okay. And you probably don't need to dig deep on the forum to find the posts many survivor mains made when it got announced that anti-tunnel and anti-slug got postponed.
It just so happened that the majority of the PTB tests was done by people who lean towards killer, and those who really defend tunneling with tooth and nail, who turned out to be the loudest complaints in the room, hence why it got postponed.
Also, from the PTB standpoint, the Krasue was tested WITH the counter-measures in place, and she was actually quite strong in that regard too. She felt a bit clunky, that's all. Now, the devs went and over-buffed her as a result of the feedback. So no, we survivors are not ok with this patch, which was meant to be FOR us, and not some patch that enables even more tunneling. cough cough .. krasue's power .. cough cough

It goes back and forth. Some patches favor survivors, some favor killers. Killers have had the advantage for a little while. For a long while before that Survivors did. The state of this game changes like the weather.
Funnily enough, the 2019-2020 time period was actually quite balanced, despite the more powerful state of certain perks.
Then came the release of Blight, who brought Hex: Undying, which singlehandedly became the reason why hex builds got nerfed hard afterwards.
Then came boons, which absolutely turbo-buffed survivors, and got subsequently nerfed into the ground, where they are rarely used today. Also, around this time, Boil Over got a massive buff, that made playing on certain maps a nightmare for killers. "Unhookable" survivors as it got known as. This too got promptly removed.
Then came the dreaded 6.1.0 patch, and everything started to become more and more killer-sided from that point onwards, with a high peak at 6.7.2, where healing got obliterated. After that, there has been some perks that were meta-defining for both sides, but for the most part, survivors has gotten the short end of the stick.
It also doesn't help that maps has been shrunk, the ambient fog is gone, and many many good loops has been removed, and replaced with unsafe ones.
I actually became sad when I saw the jungle gyms at the updated Greenville Square map. Nothing but unsafe short walls, and an over-abundance of double pallets.
I thought the tile-spawn update this patch (9.2.0) was going to help survivors a bit, not cripple them like this. -
I disagree.
She is already release Kaneki levels of strong. Don't need to add more fuel to this fire at the moment.
She needs tweaks to make her have better counterplay, since whatever little counterplay there is can be negated with two perks:
Dissolution and Bamboozle. Now that she has her own free HugTech™ loops are too easy to shut down.
-
Bear in mind that this is only affecting the survivor lobby. The killer lobby is not nearly as bad.
But yes, the static noise needs to be gone, or significantly muffled -

Survivors didn’t lose an anti-tunnel perk. They just lost the ability to weaponize the perk.
And “perk diversity” also isn’t a valid reason. Otherwise, we could argue a lot of killer perk nerfs should be reverted, because they hurt perk diversity.
Survivors definitely lost an anti-tunnel perk. Dunno what you are on about, but you should easily be able to play around bodyblocking. All you need to do now is to count to 10, or even better, have a stopwatch next to you, so that you can time it exactly.
DMS got rightfully nerfed, because pretty much EVERY game was Pain Res + DMS. -20% progress + 50 seconds of blockage (and whatever regression you got from 50 seconds), which could easily increase a gen's timer by 75 seconds. How much time do you really need, especially when playing a killer with too much mobility?
Also, this one is for @ThatRyanB: Is the Krasue supposed to be able to attack a survivor mid transform from body to head form, or is this a bug? If it is a bug, it needs to be patched fast, because it has zero counterplay.
The sliding also needs to be drastically toned down. I mean, there is a reason why hug-tech was removed from killers like Blight and Wesker, because it is too strong. -
I think this video illustrates the problem a lot:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FV42gs8O0AHens made a good breakdown of what is wrong with the killer, and what needs to be changed to make her fair to go against

Of my 2,000 hours in DBD, I'd say over 80% of it has been killer gameplay. I love Vee and her plaid outfit and had to hop over to play some survivor this patch, and I don't think I will ever do it again.
I never thought as someone who plays killer so much I would want the stupidly brutal/annoying anti-camp, anti-tunnel, and anti-slug that we dealt with in the PTB, but now I kind of wish we did.
Every match has been nothing but bleeding out all 4 survivors / being prompted with an abandon button, or people face camping the hook until you're unhooked and then going straight for you again to get you out of the match. I also don't think I've seen so much BM like… "walking back and forth" against me in the dying state this bad in almost 4 years.
I don't know if this behavior is new, or the reason we got hit with all this stuff in the PTB to begin with, but Lord have mercy if this is what survivors deal with on the daily, I completely understand the divide / vibe shift. The survivor experience has been pretty bad, ever since the decision was made to take out anti-tunnel / anti-slug out of the patch.
Over the past 3 weeks or so, there has been a major uptick in BM and bad behavior on the killer side.
Also, the "zero-chances" mindset killers have, because they absolutely NEED to get that finisher mori, and the 4K. Almost no one hooks the 3rd survivor anymore, it's always slug, or ratting out the last survivor. So what, if the last one gets the hatch.
Unless you are going for adept, I see no point in "must always 4K".Alternately, you get someone who is a complete beginner, who doesn't pressure gens at all, and has no idea how to mindgame etc.
That is pretty much my experience as of late.
-
I support this idea.
Perk favorites should absolutely be a thing -
I fully agree with what @cogsturning said. You really get a lot of useless items and add-ons in those bloodwebs.
I P100'd Sable earlier in the summer, being my first P100 character, and I currently have Feng at P82.
As for killers, I play Wesker, Myers, Doc and Ghoul a bit. Now, I kinda want to P100 Myers, since I absolutely love scaring people with Scratched Mirror. But not to get off topic here. Do the one that your heart tells you to do. If you like playing Myers and Artist, definitely pick one of them and set your goal to P100 your picked one.
I would totally go for Orela when you decide to do survivor -
They doubled most of the survivor milestones, tripled certain killer milestones and reduced the Rift Fragments by 50%
That is why it is progressing a lot slower.
Granted, I made level 100 pretty fast, but I have played A LOT of matches since the rift pass came out, plus I bought the premium option with 20 extra levels to start out with. -

I personally am of the opinion that there wasn’t enough time to be able to gather the necessary data in order for that decision to be because of stats. There is a buffer that needs to take place of something new being introduced and giving the community time to learn counter play. I do not think that the .. (2?) days the PTB had was giving the community time to learn counter play. In the same way with fog vials as well, which I believe were around for like 9 days. If a new killer was released and they pulled them from the game after 2 days, I would be very concerned and confused because those 2 days are not a good measurement for how strong/weak a killer is. People need some time to learn how to play AS and AGAINST them, and I wouldn’t support a 2 day life span.
I do think a lot of it may have to do with big names and content creators, and just how negatively the PTB was perceived and just how many threatened to quit entirely. If you look at BHVR like a business, if you had a product that enraged your sponsors and they were threatening to leave, you’d probably want to pull that product ASAP. Just my personal opinion
This. It was on the PTB for like 3-4 days before it got pulled. It should have been rolled out to the public build, so that the entire playerbase could have tested and given feedback regarding the changes.
I playtested a lot of matches, both as killer and survivor, and it seemed pretty fair to me. The systems worked as intended, and punished killers for tunneling someone out too early - Tested this myself in a bot match, since you know, bots aren't real players, and doesn't mind the stuff you do, even for testing purposes.
Anyways, my takeaway is that this would ultimately punish those players who RELY on tunneling to win, and doesn't want to change their playstyle to be more fair and fun to go against.
Staggered tunneling (alternating between the same two survivors) is another problem. and why the hook stage limit was set to 6 to begin with. I do agree that this should be lowered to 5 stages.
But for killer players who doesn't rely on tunneling, this change was actually a net buff, since it would free up some perk slots, and also give a nice speed boost to traverse the map faster. I myself found these changes to be very helpful in many scenarios.
And finally, the anti-tunnel would not trigger if the survivors were ignoring their hooked teammate, since it would not be the killer's fault. Only direct killer-interactions would trigger it, and I am sure there could have been made exceptions for killers like Sadako and Pig, with Condemn and RBT's respectively, to not trigger anti-tunnel punishment if they were to kill the survivor before the hook stage limit.
Also, the anti-slug changes was a nice way to help survivors, in that circumstance that all seems lost, there is still hope to bounce back. Still, the basekit Tenacity was a bit much, but the Unbreakable part (permanently active after 90 seconds) was nice to have.
And no, for those who say anything to counter this: You don't need to slug to win. It is just an anti-fun tactic that makes winning too easy. And I am sure there would have been adjustments to killers who actually needed a bit of slugging, like Oni for instance, not losing as much of his power gauge when picking up a survivor.
Killers could still slug survivors who intentionally body-blocked off of the hook, as a 90-second time-out for being "silly", while chasing down the initial target.Anyways, I didn't want to write an entire essay on the new systems, but at least from my testing, I found the systems to be perfectly fair, with some minor adjustments needed, and it could have opened the doors for better balancing of killers.
The main reason why it got pulled was ultimately due to hardcore killer mains who over-rely on tunneling being a bit too vocal here in the forum or on the other social channels. Don't question me on this, you know I am speaking the truth here. -

Yeah it's all laughs for me too, but solo is just aggravation. The tunneling and slugging are one thing, but then add the useless teammates and it's horrid.
I've gotten the same anon Lich mutilple times who hard tunnels whoever they hook. It'd be nice f I didn't have to deal with the same ones over and over.
I really felt like I was being targeted this morning by the killers on the US East servers, due to my higher ping.
They would always go for me first, completely ignoring others, as you could see many times @cogsturningFortunately, aside from that awful Singularity (god how I hate that killer, when they use cheese tactics) who was toxic in chat as well, and the bodyblocking "count to 10" Wraith, the other ones learned a valuable lesson. Don't hyperfocus on the players who actually knows how to loop.

lol thanks for the compliment. kinda says a lot about the mentality these days → people can’t be bothered to format and keep posts readable. and funfact: you can look up every single change yourself
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/categories/1-patch-notes
not this hard.
and before that there were some killer-leaning changes, sure : but they sit outside this 2-year window. we’re talking map reworks plus nerfs to overtuned survivor stuff (boons, etc.). those were necessary to bring and buff killer up to a baseline that they can keep up.
and it wasn’t a one-way ticket. survivors benefit from smaller maps too: faster resets, shorter rotations, teammates easier to reach for bodyblocks, yada yada. the biggest nerf was cutting pallet density —> and that was needed, come on .. the old maps were broken af. especially after MMR made it crystal clear how insanely survivor-sided the game was at the time. I’ve said this earlier already: Smaller maps are good for survs too.
survivors benefit from smaller maps too
This is actually not true.
The advent of some of the later killers added that has crazy map traversal, and certain killers that rely on terror radius builds has seen a MASSIVE gain in power level from shrinking the maps down to a postage stamp.
As someone who plays Doctor quite a bit, it has become WAY TOO EASY, thanks to the shock blast being able to cover almost the entire map if you get to the center. Combine that with passive gen slowdown perks (like dead man's switch), and you are guaranteed to get survivors off of the gen they are working on. And the first hook usually comes pretty fast.
Then you have killers like current Clown, Wraith, Blight, Ghoul, Billy etc, who can traverse the map fast, and put a lot of pressure on the survivors.
Maps needs a balance between small and large. Not super-huge like the old maps, but not as small as many of the current ones. Also, back before The Realm Beyond, there used to be a lot more ambient fog on maps, that also made them look bigger than they actually were.
A good example of a well-sized map is Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, or let's say the Shattered Square (which is completely square). Not small enough for Ghoul to instantly traverse from one side to the other in a single power use, or too large for Trapper to have a fighting chance on them.Larger, or more medium-sized maps are generally the best for survivors to use, since more space allows for more tiles, but it can also benefit killers, by spacing out tiles more, as to not make them too easy to chain.
What we really don't want to see are maps that are too small, and has way too many deadzones in them. Think Haddonfield and Rancid Abattoir here. -

If I remember correctly, back when I tested it, the game wasn't counting all survivor deaths as kills. For example, I think if someone was slugged and bled out, it didn't count as a kill, even though the survivor died.
I think there was also weirdness happening with killer abandons, in both scenarios.
But it has been a long time since I tested this. I only know the survivor stats are still broken, because that was recent testing.

I don't ever DC, so I'm not sure if that affects the total number of games milestone.
The stat tracker only counts normal 1v4 games as far as I know.
Limited time modes (like 2v8, Chaos Shuffle etc.), or event game modes are not tracked. -

You are a wild enigma, I salute you for your resolve
I also don't run exhaustion perks.
My typical build these days is the following: Scene Partner, Botany, Blast Mine and Iron Will -

Aside from the fact that having a 40% ER doesn't equal having a good time, if you've been playing a long time and have a good grip on the game, you shouldn't be satisfied with the average rate, especially if you're losing to players who are worse than you but resorted to cheese tactics to beat a better player. The whole point is to excel, not be average forever. If killers can get 70%+ KRS, survivors should be able to get 50% ERs, at least, if they've made the effort to become skilled.
Exactly this. I have had this average over the past 30 days:
But still, there has been a few matches I have outright yeeted myself out of because they were not fun to play out.
Like that Oni match, if you remember, where I could not catch a break at all.
And of course, the excessive tunneling, and proxycamping is not fun at all to go against.
But when we get chill killers, it is like a night and day difference, and we are all having a ton of fun. If we can meme together, even for a bit, that is a bonus. -
Friends till the End.
Can't count how many times I have been tunneled because of that god-forsaken perk. -
Hex builds can be both a blessing and a curse (no pun intended).
Some survivors will definitely go out of their way to cleanse particularly strong hex perks like Devour Hope or Blood Favor, I know I do when I am on the receiving end.But like others said, it is definitely a lot of RNG involved when it comes to the hexes, since sometimes a totem spawns right next to the survivor's spawn location. I have several times spawned in as a survivor, only to see a lit totem right next to me.

thats endgame… there are no rules there its gtfo or try and secure a kill at all costs… if anti face camp was still active the killer might aswel be removed from the match after the 5th gen is completed…
I know it is endgame, but to prove a point to the guy that said "facecamping doesn't exist", when it clearly does.
Long story short, my teammates got rid of the noed totem, and we all got out. -

About ptbs
So since forever ptbs have been locked away to strictly pc players but I think this isn't required anymore. We have a new main menu system that allows you to opt in or out of different game changing events or game modes so the possibility of ptbs being accessible to console players should be a simple ask.
This would also affect more of the community and allow more voices to be heard. Sometimes a killer that plays well on pc doesn't translate well to console so having this connection would allow bhvr to be notified of this earlier and make changes accordingly.
how about no more PTBs and instead we have an experimental queue on live to test new changes and chapters exclusively? New maps, characters/ character changes and other changes would be the only things useable in this mode so they can be tested, no other killers or things that didn't even recieve changes.
About bloodlust
Bloodlust is a very outdated mechanic that for some reason rewards the killer for playing bad and punishes them for doing good things. Most of the time when your a good player you will hardly even notice that thus mechanic exists unless you play a worse off killer like trapper or current skull merchant. It rewards you with haste for chasing the survivors which is a great effect but trying to utilize this effect will make you play in a very self destructive way.
If your chasing a survivor and it takes a minute to down them the game will help out by giving you bloodlust but if you break a pallet, hit a survivor, use your power, or lose Line of sight with the survivor you loose bloodlust. These requirements make bloodlust almost a non factor in chase as strong killers will never really need it and weak killers will be unable to abide the restrictions with the way some loops are set up.
This doesn't even cover the fact that it feels completely unfair on the survivor side of things. You play really well but your teammates top afraid to touch gens hide and you die as the killer enters turbo mode. And when your facing a good killer the bloodlust won't be the thing that kills you.
All this to say that bloodlust needs a rework not a removal as that one ptb proved why it was needed but ultimately something needs to change for the system to help killers better and make chases more reasonable.
They could make bloodlust an interactive system that gives the killer small boosts of speed the longer it takes to get a down and rewards the killer for getting injuries on Multiple survivors. Imagine playing trapper after 30 seconds or no downs you get a slight 2% haste and every 30 seconds you get another 2% haste until you have a max of 10% haste. If you hit a survivor you lose the haste and the timer is paused for every time you use your traps but resumes after you stop using your traps. In chase the timer is doubled allowing the survivors a way to slow the haste build up but this forces interactions but once the trapper downs a survivor timer fully resets. Then If the killer gets a hit they get a haste effect of 3% to a max of 12% until the killer gets a hook. Neither of these effects can stack with other haste perks or each other. They only stack by themselves like play with your food that way the killers don't become to fast.
Your bloodlust idea is definitely good, though i wouldn't say the current version rewards bad killers, it just makes things not infiniteable, which is the entire purpose of this mechanic to aid weaker killers.
Play your way.
I think we shouldn't punish players that don't want to play against real players if someone wants to play custom matches only with their friends why can't they do this and also progress through the rift or even earn in game currency. In the same vain why can't someone just play against bots in custom matches alone as well. I think if more people could enjoy this game in their way it would give more people what they want.
You need to think about customs queue wise. The game doesn't have enough players for players to have an incentive to play customs and make pubs take much longer.
- An experimental queue sounds like a great idea, since that would act as a way for a console / any non-Steam player to test upcoming changes and reflect on them. In other words, allowing a (much) larger sample size of players to test things out.
- Bloodlust is definitely outdated, since infinites are removed. This is an old remnant from times where you had overpowered window vaults, like the old Groaning Storehouse, Ironworks of Misery, old Haddonfield (when Balanced Landing was strong) etc.
Nowadays, there are techically no infinite loops left, or at least pallet-less infinites.
With the general mobility creep seen through killer perks and basekit changes, I am actually surprised that Bloodlust is still a thing, and so easy to get. - This one I agree with you on. Customs should still be there as an alternative if you want to just play with friends, and don't care about BP, since everything is already unlocked, and infinitely usable.
However, I do agree that it could award XP, and iridescent shards, since you are in fact spending your time there.
Killer bots should also be a thing, especially for testing purposes as survivor (like, if you don't have a friend online at the time etc.)

I’m not sure what times are associated with each tier, because testing it requires breaking game rules.
I know the penalties start small and get increasingly larger, but I don’t know more than that.
Hens did sort of test this when he tried a challenge of "winning in 7 minutes or less as Wesker"
At first, the penalty was rather small and insignificant, starting at like 1 minute or so, but it then rose to 15 minutes, 1 hour and so on, until it became a full day.
