Don't you need surv + 1 gens done to escape with a key? Not to mention the randomness of spawning the hatch at an easily visible spot.
If you're tunneling for a mori, that's 60 seconds of wasted time for the killer, and that's just phase one.
I play both killer and survivor, so I don't really see any problems with it, since I don't use them.
Both Moris and Keys allow their respective sides to finish their objective much faster without any downside (No, needing someone to die for the hatch to spawn earlier isn't a downside) and are both very capable of just completely shutting down any amount of momentum the other side may have.

A meme is an idea that is passed on by nongenetic means through culture. There have been multiple threads all saying the same thing. That if you can't down using your power then you're worthless.
Good survivors deal with the cards they're dealt. They see that they CAN'T heal and are forced to stick soley to the objective. Which means if Legion swings back around, and they don't have a backup plan, they're fubar.
It's all level dependant and based on setup. It isn't an instant loss if they're using basic attack.

I mean, if they don't have a back-up plan, are they really that good of a Survivor?

Possible solution: Do the thing from DBD mobile where the Survivor's heart starts to glow when they're within the Killer's TR (and make it an option for anyone who doesn't wanna see that).

Lethal rush attack does function like a basic attack with an exception of it being handicapped by 15 degree limit. In any other parameter (otherwise not being considered basic) it is a basic attack: it has same range as basic attack, it has same speed as basic attack, it has same animation as basic attack.
Like, I would've had no complaints if I could launch that attack for a huge distance like Oni's demon strike from Demon dash, but I'm forced into a castrated m1 which is mockingly called "special ability".
Lethal rush attack does function like a basic attack with an exception of it being handicapped by 15 degree limit.
I just gave you two other parameters that make it not function like a basic attack.

Anyway it isn't that strong like Shred or Ambush not be a basic attack.
Once again, If SPIRIT who can move at insane speed and make a 3x longer lunge out of phase has basic attack, there's no adequate reason Blight shouldn't have a basic attack for bouncing.
It's not a discussion of whether or not something is strong or weak. It's a discussion of whether or not something functions like a regular M1 attack. Lethal Rush's attack does not.
-
Yeah, from the gameplay I've seen, Compound 21 is seriously strong. Probably ought to be bumped up to at least Very Rare. Heck, I wouldn't say no to that being bumped up to Ultra Rare and the Iridescent Tag being Very Rare.

It has the same range
Using it basically ends a rush as your speed drops
It doesn't apply any special effects
The only reason it cannot be called "basic" is because it has a handicapping limitation of 15 degrees which should've been gone on earlier stages of testing.
It also cannot be used until you bounce off something, and I am pretty sure it locks you into a lunge if you use it (i.e. can't just tap M1 for a quick swing like a regular M1).

By all possible regularities that could determine whether an attack is basic or not, Michael Myers should have not basic attack more than Blight. Yet we have what we have.
Basic attack system is ridiculous and makes zero sense.
I already mentioned the irregularity with Myers. That doesn't mean that Blight's doesn't make sense. If anything, it means that Myers's doesn't make sense. Blight's Lethal Rush lunge does NOT function like a normal M1 attack, so it should not be treated as a basic attack.
@Decarcassor said:
Lethal Rush work exactly like Wraith's Surprise Attack, Nurse's Lethal Blink (notice the name), Hag's Phantasm Attack and Spirit's Grudge. All killer who gain special mobility when using their power all arguably easier to control than the Blight. Even Nurse.
Hell even the Deathslinger Reeled In is treated as a basic attack and he get to inflict Deep Wounds!
All theses attacks with fancy scoring event names are performed with the attack button (M1) and can benefit from perks and status that trigger of basic attack.
The Blight's Lethal Rush is an attack that is performed with the attack button, that only deal a single health state of damage with no other effect and yet it is not a basic attack. For some reason. Seriously, if Nurse and Spirit can benefit from basic attack perks and effect such as the Exposed status why can't the Blight who has a much harder time hitting anyone with Lethal Rush ?
(I realize the same argument could be made for Pig's Ambush and Demogorgon's Shred. But wanted to try this short and focused on the Blight.)
A Lethal Rush attack does not function the same as Wraith, Nurse, Hag, and Spirit because it is the only one that has different properties from a basic attack (a condition set on it in order to use it, restricted turning while using it, pretty sure you are locked into a lunge when you attack and can't just do a non-lunge attack). And Deathslinger's attack is still a basic attack as well; his power just inflicts a status condition if you manage to land a basic attack in conjunction with it.

And...?
Once again, Blight has to fulfil a lot of conditions and deal with a lot of restriction to activate slightly worse m1 hit. Hitting survivors as Spirit is easier and has less restrictions.
I'm not making a case over which is better or which is worse. I am only making a case over whether the rules of basic attack vs. non-basic attack is consistent or not.

Blight loses any momentum from lethal rush and performs his attack as if he made a normal m1 with 4.6 speed and not his 9.2 speed or else. The only difference from normal lunge is handicapping 15 degrees limit and that's it. His lunge from ability is basically weaker than his normal lunge.
Spirit on the other hand gets an extra lunge speed&distance when performing it out of phasing. Her lunge out of ability is stronger than her normal lunge.
Yet Spirit has basic attack and Blight doesn't. Stop acting like this makes sense, that's just sad.
The only difference from normal lunge is handicapping 15 degrees limit and that's it.
There's also the fact that you can't use the attack until you've fulfilled certain conditions (bounced off something at least once).
Spirit just keeps a speed boost for a brief moment after she phases back in.
This all makes sense to me. From my point of view, the only instance where the rules for what is considered a basic attack and what isn't don't really hold up is with Michael Myers, since his lunge distances change depending on what tier EW he is in.
-
Blight's lunge while rushing does not function the same as a normal M1 lunge, to my understanding. Spirit's lunge while phasing still does.
-
I'll admit, I think I may have underestimated Hex: Undying due to my bias against Hex perks in general. Seems like an interesting perk.

Doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that they still haven't returned Clown's mega jiggle.

If we're lookin' at add-on passes, I think Pig should be first in line. She has a substantial number of add-ons that actively work against her.

You can. But ignoring the other 99% of the game does not make sense at all.
Of course you can pick that one game that proves your point, but again - does not really make sense.
Balancing around the Top 1% would not work. Or would you also be fine to balance around the Top 1% Killers? Because balancing around Top 1% Survivors but Rank 10 Killers (yes, I have seen this on this forum) is not really a good idea.
I would be 100% in favor of balancing around the top 1% of Killers and Survivors.

That's why I gave up reporting on ps4.
PS4 has a recording feature that captures the last 15 or so minutes, though. Save the footage if you catch someone in the act, report the perpetrator(s), upload the footage to youtube unlisted or something, and then include the footage in the report ticket.
-
I dunno, with crossplay on, I've been hovering around rank 1 using Agitation + Iron Grasp + Mad Grit + Surge. This is just anecdotal evidence on my part though, so take it with a big grain of salt.

Why though? They would greatly impact the game (since they give a universal alternative for hooks), but they wouldn't break it. I think such effect is more than worthy to be ultrare (or rare/very rare if we talk about ivory mori)
Considering devs are trying to make U/R things "gamechanging" but not "gamebreaking" such possible mories would fit in that description
Disagree. They would not impact the game in a meaningful way, from my perspective.
-
Those offerings are not even close to worth rare/ultra rare.
-
Regardless of whether or not Keys need to be nerfed, Mori offerings as they currently are need to be nerfed (except for the Yellow one, which sucks).

1 second is not enough when killer is breaking a pallet.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1597529#Comment_1597529
Like.... Instead of fixing one thing that will only require them to change some values in the code, they go ahead and create a perk for it... it's ridiculous. They are profiting off of their core issues.
I don't think it's a problem that a Survivor can stop gen regression if the Killer chooses to break a pallet.
-
Don't worry, I understood your question.
No, Trapper is not the only Killer with Ultra Rare add-ons. 🤪
-
Some sort of white-ish robe for Jeff. If that happens, expect to see me always bringing a Map with Glass Bead so that Survivors can see me repairing gens while being bathed in a giant pillar of light.
-
I've been having a blast playing Survivor with my PS4 friends since crossplay was implemented.

You don't have to, I think it would make the game far more tense in the situation that the killer is getting steamrolled, having one person need to fend for themselves and get hatch first.
Not really. 1k and 0k isn't much of a difference to me, much like how 3k and 4k isn't much of a difference to me.
-
I'd probably suggest 1 second, personally. That would still be enough to stop a mid-chase gen tap.
-
@yobuddd said:
I think when there’s one survivor left and gens remain, the Entity should drag both the killer and survivor to a small, closed-off section of the map to face off. There are strong loops and pallets, and 1 central hook. The survivor must survive for a certain length of time, after which the Entity cages the killer in tentacles and allows the survivor through a gate (or hatch).
You could just simplify things and make it so that the last Survivor has to stay alive for a certain amount of time with perma-AFK crows in order for the Hatch to open but in exchange, the Killer can't close it or interrupt the escape.

Yes, I understand that, I'm not trying to argue that thats not what it does, because that'd be a stupid thing to argue. But it also serves the purpose of giving survivors another chance to secure at least one escape. The benefit to this isn't to make the game end faster its to give the killer a similar benefit.
I don't see what benefit that gives to the game as a whole.

@SCP_FOR_DBD said:

Yes, it brings the game closer to ending by giving survivors a chance to escape. I'm not trying to argue what its main purpose is.
It brings the game closer to ending because it prevents the last Survivor from being able to hide indefinitely and dragging the game out to infinity and beyond (since the Killer can close the Hatch and start the EGC). The reverse hatch you propose doesn't add a benefit to the game.
-

Yes, but its other purpose is to give survivors a last chance to escape.
Its main purpose these days is to bring the game to a close, I would say.

Exactly what I answered to him, "the fact that some killers are D tier makes it a rule that a killer can't come out that is a higher tier with alike powers? Amazing Logic"
The problem isn't that Legion is D tier. The problem is that your suggestion would make Legion pointless. Why play a Killer whose power is "move faster but can't down people while doing so" when there exists a Killer whose power is "move faster but CAN down people while doing so?" The one-bump requirement makes it so he doesn't 100% just turn into Legion but better (which would essentially be "an M1 Killer that is impossible to counterplay," which is a bad idea even ignoring the whole Legion thing).

Same point as the hatch but for killers, to give killers one last chance to earn a kill.
The Hatch helps keep the game from going on indefinitely.

He's not already in that state? You really don't see him as the lowest tier along clown? And cause Legion would become obsolete this killer has to be C tier?
Missing my point. Your suggestion would exacerbate the issue.

Don't tell me you don't see this guy as a kind of "rework" for Legion... Rushing and hitting survivors but adding bumping into walls? No...? Ok...
So? What you are suggesting would render him entirely obsolete.
-
@Carlosylu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1592757#Comment_1592757
I didn't think they'd change the whole power, but maybe add it so that you can hit on the 1st rush without bumping into a wall 1st, that would've been a nice and simple change...
That would just render Legion absolutely meaningless. Probably Pig too.
-
They are not going to make any big changes to a Killer in the time between a PTB and the live release.
-
It's because you played him before it was cool. ;)

They're better than the add-ons that give Mangled.

I disagree, simply because perk slots can have so much more value than Sloppy Butcher.
And add-on slots can have so much more value than an add-on that gives Mangled, especially when a better version exists as a perk.
-
@CalamityJane said:

Only if you're assuming that giving up a perk slot is better than giving up an add on slot, on a killer who doesn't have a lot of game-changing add ons to choose from.
I am assuming that almost every add-on that only inflicts Mangled is not worth using purely because Sloppy Butcher exists.
-
@Tricks said:
Worst addons in game hands down. Most of his other addons are better than his iridescent ones.
At least those add-ons don't actively nerf the Killer the way an add-on like Amanda's Secret does. :P
-
Counterpoint: The uncommon add-on is strictly worse than Sloppy Butcher, whereas the rare one will function in cases where Sloppy Butcher might not.
Conclusion: Just use Sloppy Butcher.

People were complaining about their add ons. 5X blink nurse was broken and even both sides agreed on that. NO ONE asked for a cd on her blinks yet they threw that in there. No one said billy was OP and they messed with him(although not much they still F'ed with perfection) Instead of nerfing the few strong killers they should be buffing all the rest to their level.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1588554#Comment_1588554
Personally I think unless you have a few hundred hours into the game your complaints about who is OP should be ignored. But that's just me.

People complained about inst-saw billy, yet instead of only touching the add ons, they gave Billy the Nurse treatment.
It doesn't matter if the killer is balanced, the devs will slap a cooldown for no reason. The Billy rework pretty much proved that.
I am talking about base kit. Obviously there were a lot of complaints about Instasaw and Omega Nurse, but I definitely recall seeing non-negligible numbers of people complaining about base kit, as well as arguments over the merits of those complaints.

Few players complained about base kit nurse and even fewer players complained about base kit Billy. Yet both had their base kits nerfed.
I don't recall either one being the case. There were definitely sizeable groups of people in both camps who were complaining about their base kits, especially Nurse (just like there were sizeable groups of people defending those characters' base kits).
