fun story. when trapper got a buff to his traps, they started working like pigs traps.
meaning, just like how pigs traps have a set box to remove them from the start of the game, trappers traps have a set amount of tries to escape them from the point you set them.
Eh? I don't recall that being how Bear Trap escapes work. Last I recall, each attempt has a certain percentage of success, early attempts have a lower chance, later attempts have a higher chance, and I think you are guaranteed to escape on the sixth attempt if you haven't already.

Pig shouldn't be able to see her boxes at all. Other than that I agree she should get buffed.
Yesterday I had a match against a pig which went as following:
She tunneled one guy, put trap on him, hooked him, proxy camped, hooked guy got unhooked, she followed him so his trap was still ticking but couldn't go to a single box causeshe was still following him, she downed hi again when he tried to remove it, got gooked again. Rinse and repeat after the 2nd unhook. She ended up doing this twice in the same match. So a 2k in the end.
While I agree that she probably get punished for playing like that by depipping, I am sure the player didn't give a #########. I see way too many pig players play exactly like that, with their only goal to make the game miserable for 1 or 2 people.
Pig shouldn't be able to see her boxes at all.
No thanks. Pig seeing where the boxes are is a meaningful part of her kit. Taking arguably the single worst Killer add-on in the game, making it even worse, and then making all Pigs have to use it is a bad idea. Bad Pigs being bad Pigs is not a good reason to do that.

Oh my... that's embarrassing... cringe. You did not read my post. I said I did not want to hear about Small Game because MAPS have always existed. You act like that buff brought us something that we didn't already have.
I read your post. You not wanting to hear about Small Game does not invalidate that Small Game basically takes care of your problem now.

That made me laugh. Have I just not seen other people post this pic?

everyone seems to not want to talk about the amount of dead ends that result in your death if you end up there with the killer. Interesting.
Avoid them, then? If you play on the map enough to know the layout, that should be way, way less of a problem for a Survivor than the sheer number of very safe pallets can be for the Killer.

Which is the point I’m trying to make. This map starts off favourable for survivors, but quickly becomes dangerous.
The swing in shift from what everyone here is focusing on:the pallets, to how favourable the map becomes for the killer, is massive.
And the point everyone else is trying to make is that the massive shift you are describing happens way too late to benefit the Killer. This makes sense now that multiple people have explained it, yes?
-
Definitely. I'm surprised this has not been rectified long ago.
-
No, because it makes you look like you are ragequitting. The only truly valid method of protest IMO is simply not playing the game. Whether that is something you are willing to do is your call to make.

In my experience, I get lots of use out of it because my survivors are cocky and almost always do I catch them with the item back in their hand, which means they spent time travelling to get it and even risked getting back to a hot zone. That's enough effect for me. What do you want from me :D I only expressed my opinion because I think it has some weight after I invested so many hours in the game. Maybe you have a different playstyle that doesn't let you capitalize on it as much as I do or my region has dumb, cocky, petty survivors. Maybe you're 5k hours ahead of me and know something I don't. Whatever the case, I'm not arguing or dodging. I'm simply willing not to reach a conclusion.
Your play to put the key away for pick up later is the optimal play and I see no issue with Franklin's having a counter :) You deserve it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2124038#Comment_2124038
Again, my experience shows that it's extremely useful to take Franklin's on a lobby full of med-kit or tool-boxes. They either waste the items or waste time. That works for me.
If you guys find Franklin's so damned weak, indeed lobby for a change :D I just threw my 2 cents in, don't have anybody else's cents
That sounds like you are running into bad Survivors. There's no reason to pick up items that Franklin's knocked out of your hand (other than the Key, which, again, has a hard counter to it) unless it is conveniently on your way to whatever gen/hook you are going toward.
I think it is an issue because it means Franklin's is useless against competent Survivors and pointless against the one item it might have some use against (the Key). Franklin's should not be so easily HARD countered by an an action that can be taken at the beginning of a match.
-
So you can just forcibly derank yourself and the Survivors with no punishment? No thanks.
-
This honestly feels like it should be base kit. Why would I use an Ultra Rare to make myself a worse 115% Killer sometimes?

Which they only get to do once with these pallets
Gideon has a staggering, and sharp shift from safe for survivors to dangerous for for survivors. There’s very little safety for them mid-ish/late game.
Why does that matter if they've already cleared most, if not all, if the gens by that point? Are you just banking on hoping they get overly altruistic and die on failed hook saves?
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2124472#Comment_2124472
But the only reason there are so many is because it’s counterbalanced by the other points I included.
This map seriously gets dangerous for survivors very quickly.
The map also becomes finished for competent Survivors by the time it becomes dangerous for them. If all you are doing is switching targets because pallets are preventing you from downing them, what exactly are you accomplishing?
-
What exactly is bothering many of you with these pallets?!
Yes, there Is a large overall volume of pallets.
Yes, Gideon probably also has the highest amount of “god pallets”/pallets that absolutely HAVE to be kicked/broken in the entire game.
You basically answered your own question.
-
I support re-working NOED, but Small Game's Totem Counter buff really should eliminate NOED problems for anyone who worries about it.

He suggests that Franklin's should work on the items that he doesn't hit to drop.
Franklin's is actually so useful in locating survivors. You shouldn't just hit to drop and forget about it. If anything, the survivors coming back to their items is time they don't spend on gens.
Yeah, and OP's suggestion makes perfect sense. The only item that Franklin's is worth using on is a Key. No other item is worth going out of your way to pick up again. And if all you need to do to keep your key safe from Franklin's is to drop it at the beginning of the match and pick it back up once the Hatch spawns, what exactly is Franklin's accomplishing?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
It gives you aura reading on the dropped items, you're supposed to not let them counter it.
What you're suggesting would be absolutely free of any effort.
How? You'd still have to actually hit them if they choose not to manually drop the item.

Gen rushing is a thing Survivors should do if they want to maximize their chances of winning. The fact that any sort of strategy is potentially overpowered should not necessarily dissuade a player from employing it if their goal is to win (especially if they intend to win efficiently). It is on the devs to make sure that no strategy is overly dominant/unfun, not the players.

No. because then you would know not to cheat. you'd challenge yourself to your best abilities, take the wins, take the losses, and don't go act as if your sheer existence demands you get to win.
huh... where have i heard this mentality of 'we exist therefore it is unthinkable we'd ever lose' before....
Who said anything about cheating? I explicitly said "barring any actual breaking of the rules."

counterquestion:
What does it say about you as a person if you are that obsessed with a win in a game that you act like this?
You know, that kind of thinking actually IS a sign of an addiction.
It says you try to play to win.

The argument is massively faulty:
It's a game. You are not going to lose any vital organs or loved ones if you don't win (even though that's exactly the ridiculous mentality so many streamers and fogwhisperers push. People oughta to some severe soulsearching).
So playing like that is a choice because people have to pamper their egos, nothing else. And with trickster I see it so commonly that the matches are full of the cheapest tactics. And the less said about the chat the better. Gods, these people are obnoxious. Really, again, with bubba and freddy you get your people that play fair and challenging and have an honest gg and sometimes helpful hints. trickster? mockery and even obviously false claims that they are on the devs team/related to a dev and that they'll ban us if we complain... AS IF ANYONE WOULD BELIEVE THAT.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2122123#Comment_2122123
Yeah, i mean he had to fight the entire Gop and fox news staff for that.
This argument is faulty to me because it implies that players should not be trying to win by any means necessary (barring any actual breaking of the rules), lest they be looked down upon for doing so.

I like someone mention about get more traps in the jigsaw box. I feel like its not a bad idea to have Pig start with 2 traps, and can get 1 from each box that survivor already get key (which up to 6 total but requires some work)
Assuming I am interpreting that correctly, you are basically decreasing the average amount of time Survivors spend getting their Traps off by a sizeable amount (increasingly with each subsequent Trap used), the Pig now has to find more traps after only using two Traps, and the only compensation for that is that IF she manages to use four Traps, she technically has the potential to get two more.
Assuming I am indeed interpreting that correctly, absolutely not. This is a good way to make the Pig THE worst Killer in the game.
-
I know, there are many IF´s in this situation.
Indeed there are. Too many for me to say that your scenario is a good case for the perk being OP.
-
Here is my not-really-thought-out-much idea:
-115% movement speed basekit
-Can fire his gun at any non-broken/occupied hook to reel himself toward it at high speed
-Whenever he fires his gun, regardless of whether he connects or not, his movement speed DROPS to 105% for a period of time until it gradually returns to 115% (aiming down the sights again or reloading your gun will pause that timer).
-The amount of time spent at 105% is inversely proportional to how long he spent aiming down the sights (i.e. the longer he spends aiming down the sights, the less time he spends at 105%); firing the gun again will either reset the current timer or set it to the new timer, whichever is longer.
-
Yes. I tried playing a few games hoping it wouldn't be too bad, but I can't bring myself to play while the bug exists. It feels too dirty.

Dude you really thinking they will stop EGC timer for Pig. More codes, more effort, more job. Devs are lazy usually :d
By that logic, why bother working on the game anymore if it's more codes, more effort, more job?

Traps cant active in EGC because that would be unfair for survivors and that would make Pig really strong. Because EGC is already killerside and i cant imagine one killer using this to advantage. But other 2 possible.
It is very easy to fix that problem.
1) Pause the EGC timer while someone is wearing an RBT.
2) Make it so RBTs permanently deactivate if the Hatch is closed prior to all the gens being finished AND there's only one Survivor left.
Boom, problem solved.

Suiciding on hook only gets you penalty free and a middle finger to the killer
The killer will gladly take the now-easy game, so your figurative middle finger accomplishes little.

I think Sloppy Butcher invalidates a lot of add-ons that inflict Mangled. I would rather those add-ons be made better and then Sloppy Butcher be re-worked.

Like others said, just normally showing off others names or profiles isn't bannable as long it's not private information. But depending what the streamer said while showing off your profile it might be classified as some sort of harrasement. Like for example if he said "Go spam his profile" or something it's not allowed
Read the rules and if you think something got broken go contact twitch
This seems like the best response to OP.

it's bannable only if the killer does it for griefing purposes. Like if a killer blocks a survivor in a corner and doesn't move for 5 minutes. Survivors can't body block a killer for griefing purposes because the killer can just down them.
I've actually had a Survivor body block me as Killer exactly once. It was a long time ago on one of the Coldwind maps as the Clown. The Survivor somehow had me blocked on the exit point of the tractor in such a way that I could not get off the tractor, I could not double back and get back to the top of the tractor, and I was a little too high to be able to attack the Survivor with my M1. The Survivor basically kept me there until the game was over and the Exit Gate was open (this was prior to EGC).

The slowdown of the RGBT's is a temporary effect, that's intended - it's not supposed to be that you can slow the survivors down throughout the entire match. It's up to the killer to use the traps wisely, which is why it's never worth tunneling a trapped survivor to kill them because that survivor is not going to be doing gens to progress the match. Same as if a survivor is dead on hook, there's no point putting a trap on their head (unless you suspect a flashlight save or something, and even then, it's probably not worth the loss of the trap).
Piggy's power is not only her slowdown mechanic, she has a lot more to her basekit than that with her crouch and dash.
RGBT
There's a Freudian slip in there somewhere. :P

ahem
I didn't like Mean Girls.
(also, RE is totally cool in DBD, no matter how much OP disagrees)

Still waiting on a Matilda chapter. Alternatively, Jaws.

The Survivor is Tofu. You heard it here first.

You hear the Terror Radius heartbeat and look into the distance. You see a man in a dark coat in the distance. Is that a new Trickster skin? No, this person has glasses and slicked back hair. But then this character holds his arms down like the Trickster pulling out knives. Surely this is a Trickster skin. But wait, those aren't knives he's pulling out. Are those...and then you hear the man belt his battlecry.

So now they are trying to fix it by riding on the hype train RE is carrying with RE8.
I don't buy that. This would have had to have been set up before All-Kill was released.

Change "5 gens" to "the remainder of the gens" whether it's 3 or 4 or whatever. Happy?
I mean, the more you lower it, the easier it becomes to be able to hammer out the gens, get out, and give the last person a shot at the hatch.
