Yeah, I remember someone suggesting this exact strategy when it was first unveiled. TBH, that might be somewhat comparable to Mint Rag.

So do we now assume DS 24/7?
Alternatively, assume the opposite. ;)

The general timeframe for a new Killer to be re-evaluated balance-wise is during the mid-chapter update of the next Killer. We recently got balance changes for Trickster, so even if they end up not being enough, I would not bet on the devs making further balance changes to the Trickster until then.

I absolutely do not agree with what you have said.The pig can easily explode the trap in your head in certain situations, it prevents the trap or can easily exploit this situation by leaning and turning over.Because of this, if the pig is within 12 meters of you, the trap counter should stop.
Cool, so the Pig will stay 16 meters from you and crouch tunnel you to death.

It's something that could have been baked into the game early on in its lifetime, but now it is way too late to do so. Too many people have dedicated too many resources into their preferred Survivor to suddenly find out that they got saddled with a lousy ability compared to a different Survivor.
-
It doesn't need a nerf to begin with, though. The perk is limited by the fact that you only get four seconds of aura reading per hook and the fact that Survivors can play around it to a degree.

Why do you refuse to read?
They clearly said it depletes the more you work on the gen. They never mentioned 99ing the gen at all.
They said that repairing a generator docks the timer by 10 seconds. I took that to mean that finishing the repair docks 10 seconds plus 5 additional seconds for every five seconds you spent repairing that gen. It doesn't make sense to me that just tapping a gen immediately docks 10 seconds if the goal is to make DS last longer than it currently does.

I don't care about the reasons, I find him stupid. He's just some guy you'd bump into on the street who happens to like killing people. There's nothing special or memorable about him. Nothing physically imposing, nothing threatening. Anyone can throw knives at you, and that's all he can do.
Legion at least has a somewhat compelling backstory, a cool look (subjective) and seems to have been the archetype for Ghostface before they knew they could get Ghostface. Trickster (who doesn't do anything especially tricky) is just...A human DJ whose power is having throwing knives. They might as well have made a character who was a librarian that could stun you by yelling at you to be quiet.
Trickster's backstory is way more compelling than Legion's IMO, as is his design.
-
So as long as you 99 a gen and get someone else to tap it, you're in the clear?
-
There's a difference between being able to make it in a vacuum and being able to implement it in the game for a Killer whose mask does not change facial expressions mid-match. Just sayin'.
-
I remember that Quentin's actor in the past has expressed interest in working with BHVR to update Quentin's model, but I have not heard anything else about that in some time.

Lol also true. Also, it doesn't actually help you win (emblem/pip wise as well as BP wise).
I wasn't thinking about that, but that is also true. You get terrible emblem/point results by scoring kills with it.

Yeah I feel mixed about it. I'd put it in the middle myself but definetly not top. It's powerful in the sense it gives an instakill but it's weak because it slows you down and takes ages to trigger.
It also depends on if you are running infinite tier 3 myers as well on how good it is imo
I'd put it at the bottom (not counting basekit tier). The downside is game-losing, and the upside can be countered with a locker.
-
Judith's Tombstone is one of the weakest add-ons in the game IMO. I'm shocked to see it at the very top.
-
Can someone actually confirm to me whether Hangman's Trick can actually detect someone above you when you are in the basement? Because I could swear from one instance of me testing it that the answer is no, which would be hilariously sad, but at the same time, it's possible that the Survivor only juuust entered the range of Hangman's Trick right after I hooked someone else.

I was among many people that made this complaint. I always said they needed to nerf its offensive use and actually make it counter tunneling, and even gave a bunch of suggestions.
I always knew if this change went through it would be the wrong one and only serve to make the game even more of a toxic cesspit.
I can't say I'm convinced that this was the wrong change. At worst, I simply think that we can actually discuss the possibility of buffing DS at least a little if it ends up being necessary.

They did, actually. People have complained about this aspect of the perk for a while, but it was a strong enough perk that very few people really wanted to buff it in any way.
I don't really remember seeing these complaints, admittedly. From my POV, these complaints only really started up once DS was nerfed to its current iteratation.

i dont need to do anything. it happens. and happens frequently. the higher the rank you go the more frequent.
so no. i do not have to do anything for you. because i am lazy and you can do it yourself!
have a grrrrreat day
EDIT soul guard too, forgot about that one!!!! and y'all want charges on DS......
Well, as long as you are not demonstrating that it happens with the frequency you are claiming, I can conclude that it does not happen at the frequency you are claiming. Have a great day.

That’s because everyone was afraid of the stun since it could happen at any time. Now it’s only when you know you’re getting hit by it
You only know you're not getting hit by it if you see the person who was unhooked doing something that turns it off. That doesn't change a whole lot IMO.

the perk wasnt really used for tunneling before the nerf. now it isnt even good at the only thing its supposed to do
But no one complained back then that it wasn't good at protecting someone being tunneled off the hook.

what i meant was that it isnt efficient at stopping tunneling. i know its the same as before but its still a problem
Was it a problem before? It does not seem to me like it was a problem before in that regard. So why is it a problem now?

How about they also can remove it without a box (4% chance) and it takes .5 seconds to try
Either the Pig tunnels you to death, or the Pig doesn't tunnel you to death and the RBT becomes completely worthless.
I've thought about allowing the timer to go down in a chase with an add-on, but I decided that it was just fundamentally problematic.
@ProveKa said:
if the pig chases us,time should be added to the trap
Not base-kit, no. Maybe if it was attached to a strong enough add-on, that might be an acceptable downside (Tampered Timer is nowhere near a strong-enough add-on to justify such a downside).
-
@swager21 said:
i would say that it isnt efficient enough. if a killer wants to force you out of the game then they can easily just eat it and continue chasing you
How is that different from DS before the most recent nerf? You hook, you tunnel them off the hook, you eat the DS, you tunnel again. This was fine before. How is it no longer fine when this sequence of events remains unchanged from the previous iteration of DS?

it doesnt take much.... get on google and do a search. Tru and Otz will be your prime source of material.
OR you can just play the game. Survivors do this all the time, anywhere from gutter rank to red rank
I've been playing since a little after the Clown chapter, which isn't as long as Dead Hard has been around, but still for a decent while, and I primarily play Killer. Never once in my time playing has someone Dead Harded into me to save another Survivor. And never in any of the Tru3/Otz videos have I seen someone do the same. So please show me a video of this.

Okay but what about making hook timer go slow af if u camp hooked survivor wouldn't that solve the problem pretty much instead making it bannable
Then the Killer will just step away far enough that it's not going to trigger.

survivor body blocking. breaking hooks you were b-lining for. using items.
the resources of a survivor.........
No one will change my mind on this. As DS is in an ok place right now. giving it a second charge. is just plain stupid
EDIT chasing for more than 30-40 seconds is BAD. giving 4 survivors with 2 charges of DS, will make chases last way longer than a minute if you were to tunnel
EDIT 2 by that time. half the generators will have been completed
EDIT 3 and thats not to say, another survivor steps in the way with a DEAD HARD , and continues the chase for more minutes
I want to see a video of someone dive bombing the Killer with a Dead Hard to save someone else. Because I've never ever seen that happen before.
-
@LilCrapper said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2155385#Comment_2155385
wrong...... as the survivors will ALL get 2 DS. Making it near impossible for a killer to even get one hook if survivors properly use their resources!!!!!
This happens now, without your obvious overpowered want. If this change were to ever happen, it would ruin the game without some way for the killer to counteract it
What is "properly using their resources" in this case?
-
It's more that I consider the game that occured "meaningless" rather than one side actually winning. Obviously, this only applies if multiple people escape via hatch before all the gens are done. If people escape through Hatch after all the gens are done, it's not that much different from escaping through the Exit Gate, and if only one person escapes through the Hatch because everyone else died, that's still a win for the Killer IMO.
Of course, all of this is subjective because the game really has no properly defined "win condition," so winning/losing in this game is basically whatever people feel like.
-
Before the most recent DS nerf, very few people complained that DS was weak when it fired off because the Killer tunneled someone right off the hook. That part still works just as effectively as it did before DS was changed. I think once enough time has passed and Survivors start using it again in larger numbers, it will continue to do that part of its job just as well.
As far as buffing DS again, I personally would only be okay with that on the condition that DS stops functioning during the last leg of the game once the Exit Gates are powered. The one thing DS still does that bothers me is severely increase the odds of escaping the trial if someone has not already used it by that point in the game. Something like allowing DS to be used multiple times in a game would definitely increase the possibility of allowing that to happen, so I'd want that to be nipped in the bud before we actually discuss the possibility of buffing DS.
-
Highly doubt they would remove a map from rotation unless it was bugged to the point of being borderline nonfunctional. Being simply poorly balanced is not that point, even if some people wish it were.
-
Legion. I'd want to be able to incorporate all four gang members into the power. Something similar to Hell Ember's giant dolls from Identity V. Maybe they all have Feral Frenzy as well.

Im not gonna tell you to camp. Y'all gonna camp regardless. If your gonna ask for something else to do I'll give you options. Ok fine how about walking away from hook giving the survivors the illusion of hope? What a good boy for camping hook. What do you want me to say? You can argue for camping in any game, endgame collapse or not. Killers objective is to do whatever they want and that's exactly how they play.
@Seraphor you too. Do you know what empathy is? Do you like to watch other people suffer? Especially if they are your friends? Has the shoe ever been on the other foot?
Dont say there's nothing else for me to do and then make this about how killers camping is actually making the game better.
Put up or shut up.
What do you want me to say?
I want you to say that it's only one game and to have fun to the people who get salty when I camp basement during endgame and get 3 kills as a result. :P

What I'm saying it sucks to play survivor against you because you wont leave hook. Your are sweating way too hard dude, chill out. It's one game, its not the end of the world. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Sometimes you get 4 kills, sometimes you get 0. Dont forget to Have Fun.
You should tell that to the Survivors who get mad because I get 3k by camping the basement during endgame. ;)

The game is pretty balanced right now. Buffing either side would make them OP.
I think you need a few buffs and nerfs here and there on both sides, both to fix current problems and problems that will inevitably appear when you start trying to fix the current issues.

If Old Meg is not "out Meg", then I'm glad to see the devs cutting Meg from the game and replacing her with Tweg. :P

We are still in the same scenario. If you manage to do one dead hard per loop/ jungle gym, the killer is just bad. Theres nothing else to say about all this :/
I disagree. That would imply that there is a way to play around that. It does not take THAT much effort to give the Killer enough of a runaround to recharge Dead Hard if exhaustion always goes down.
-
@xEzekanarioX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2151369#Comment_2151369
Indeed it does. But if i manage to do for example 3 dead hards in one life... Wouldnt be the killer kinda... bad? xD
Not if you use each of those Dead Hards to reach the next pallet instead of just dodging hits.
-
@xEzekanarioX said:
Actually, this might be crazy, but what about you recover from exaustion while running? I know people will automatically think about builds focused on being injured (resilience and iron will for example), but think about it... You re exposed for all the match, with no chance of healing.
Would that not enable the user repeatable access to Dead Hard in a chase? That seems like it's extremely worth the trade-off for anyone who generally does not heal anyways.
-
The ability to kill people with Reverse Bear Traps is the only reason I mained Pig.
-
I would not be surprised at all if you could. All it takes is one person to record it, and you're screwed.
-
@PigsEatBacon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2147414#Comment_2147414
How does that not matter? Unless everyone can heal, (which they can't because of FOP), in the 20 seconds it takes for the survivor to get caught and die again, they are pretty much staying injured and resuming the game where it was. At best, this situation delays the game by like 45 seconds. It still needs to have 3 people to work, so it grants hardly any actual progress.
in the 20 seconds it takes for the survivor to get caught and die again
This is the part I don't agree with. The Survivor can realistically reach a loop point and extend the chase.
It still needs to have 3 people to work
It only needs two if you're not counting the person being carried: The person with Baton Pass and the SWF teammate with For the People.
