@Nicholas No one really knows, people are just hating.

It is not the tv show one, the t.v. show one did not have rights to the mask, like DBD does.

They took a little creative liberty with Ghostface's jacket, and didn't make it flappy, insead it looks leathery.

I will remind you, THIS IS WHAT THE T.V. SHOW LOOKED LIKE.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/984/29CPJHMBCBBV.jpg

A melted mask had sex with someone with down syndrome, and forgot to wear a condom.

This is what our Ghostface looks like

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/058/SPOGR336RPB1.jpg

Yeah the longer, cut up cloak gave his costume more of a ghost look in the movies. but this look, is pretty good. And honestly probably what Ghostface would look like, if rebooted.

From what I have read, Season 3 was supposed to have the original mask.

  • Way to make the game worse with this update. Not fun. Killers bait the hatch then close it. Good job. Who is running this development?

If you think they are baiting the hatch, do gens.

Can you tell me logically, why should a survivor be screwed completely after endgame has started (2 min rundown), to have an RBT on him placed by pig (which could be done deliberately, for instance Pig can down and then wait a little if she knows last gen is left), so that the survivor has to first get healed, then run around the map looking for unlock <- this will be nearly impossible, unless killer will allow it.

So some survivor(s) get screwed completely, which I'm sure will ruin the game experience for them.

So basically RBT doesn't work if you place it after the 2 minute endgame, what's the complain here exactly?

It's not that traps placed after the Collapse starts don't work; it's that traps placed after the last generator is finished don't work. My complaint is that the solution to the Pig problem is complete overkill IMO. Simply pausing the EGC timer would have more than sufficed. If she got a meaningful buff somewhere else, I may have also been okay with that, but they didn't even do that.

  • Closing the Hatch does not finish any gens, and Bitter Murmur says it only triggers when the last Generator is finished (as opposed to, say, when the Exit Gates are powered like on Adrenaline), so by that logic, it should not trigger.

  • This sounds like a bug. Was the description changed?

I don't see why it would be since s3 is in development hell.

Hypothetically because they might not want the design to go to waste if S3 does end up being canned?

  • @RailY said:

But.... no one is going to play the pig after the nerfs xD

It's kind of amazing since he wasn't nowhere near the top tier list to begin with

I'll still play her. Not because I approve of the nerf in question, but because Pig will still be my favorite Killer to play regardless.

What are you talking about? we don't even know what he's supposed in the dead season 3 apart from the mask.

Hence why I'm asking if it's possible that the leaked design in DBD could be based on a Season 3 design we don't know about.

  • Doesn't mean there couldn't be a design from that season they might wanna use.

  • Crazy theory: Is it possible the design is based on the in-limbo third season of the show? From what I'm reading, the third season was bringing back the original mask from the films, but as far as I can tell, there's no actual pictures of S3 Ghostface.

  • Why did you expect the Hatch to reopen if they gave the Killer the ability to close the Hatch on the last Survivor?

  • @Chi said:

It could also take until the end of the end game timer to get the hat off, that without being able to get out any way would just not be fair to play against.

Pause the EGC timer, then. Problem solved.

Never do that if you don't want the game dying. Why?

    • Killers have higher sensibility on PC while on controller you don't want to increase it.
    • Higher Framerate on PC
    • Keyboard + mouse
    • Game is unbalanced on high ranks so PC players will melt us with nurse.

Except if you do like fortnite make two seperate matchmaking ( one for controller and one for K+M ) while adding an K+M support on console.

I actually kinda like the idea of Fortnite-style cross-platform matchmaking.

If some of you were in charge of new chapters you'll actually have another swamp map, a person made from trees as killer and a slap as the killers power.

Boring where is your imagination and how can you say that's fun when you'll later complain saying it's boring and samey.

If I were in charge, the next Killer would be Miss Trunchbull. 😜

  • Opinions from a self-admitted not-very-good Killer main:

Locksmith: Not gonna lie, I don't hate this idea. Drop the ability to get keys more frequently but keep the ability to slow-open the Hatch.

Quick Rat - I think the ability could be put on a cooldown if you cause the Entity to block the vault spot (not if Bamboozle blocks it, though). Not sure how I feel about reducing the block time.

Brotherhood - This seems problematic to me. Best case scenario, M1 Killers ain't gonna catch you for a LONG time. At the very least, I think the Survivor should lose all tokens if they are away from a (non-downed/hooked) Survivor for 5 seconds.

Break-In - Useless except in stages where it is likely too strong. Do not like.

Face Kicker - This seems terrible. Like a worse version of Head-On.

Save the Last For You - I don't HATE the idea of a gun (as as a one-use item, not a perk) that stuns the Killer, but it has to be REALLY balanced appropriately. This to me seems like a free escape for the last Survivor if they have this. Not a fan.

I love the "doesn't fit this trend that I've decided is critical therefore it doesn't work in the lore".

The "lore" for this game is a framing device that fits literally everything.

It is possible to work around the lore, but that doesn't make the lore dismissable. Unless there is a valid reason why the Entity would bring a random instinctive beast into its realm as a Killer, I don't see it fitting.

  • @AshleyWB said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/460235#Comment_460235

It would fit. That kinda attitude will get you nowhere but cocooned to the basement wall.

Nope. The Entity has about as much reason to bring a Xenomorph into its realm as it would to make a Killer out of a swarm of bees.

  • My stance remains unchanged: It wouldn't fit.

  • Here's the thing: I think "The Pig needed to be changed for the EGC" and "The proposed Pig changes for the EGC are reasonable" are two different arguments, and what you are saying only really covers the first one.

I think it's more than possible to believe both that the Pig needed to be changed in light of the upcoming Endgame Collapse and that the proposed change is a bad one. I think a good change to the Pig would be one that keeps her from being problematic during the Endgame Collapse without making her weaker or one that gives her an appropriate buff as compensation for making her weaker during the Endgame Collapse. A bad change is one that just flat-out makes her weaker during the Endgame Collapse with nothing to make up for it. I believe this proposed change falls into the latter camp because it takes away a tool from a weak Killer (IMO) and cripples her in the one area where she was decent (the last leg of the trial where the Exit Gates were powered) while giving her nothing in return.

    True.

And you do make good points.

But idk, i just don't see it as a bad thing for her to have.

Do not get me wrong. I really want some buffs for the Pig. I just don't think this is a good way to do it.

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/459167#Comment_459167

Their intended purpose is to shift Survivors' focus to try and get it off, prolonging the game.

Only after they fail & take too long does the purpose become to kill.

It gets messed up when one of your base amount of chances to apply this time-waste is taken away by a disconnect.

It's not the intended way that an RBT gets used up right away unless it's the Exit Gate. (Currently.)

But you still have more to use, and now you have one less Survivor to worry about, which would arguably make the time waste more effective in spite of having one less Trap to work with.

  • "Changes were previously either reverted or changed further to be what they first intended."

What was first intended by the RBTs, and why does a Survivor DCing while wearing an RBT mess that up?

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/459152#Comment_459152

It matters when all previous accidental and unintended changes have been taken out, positive changes or negative changes.

The results don't matter when the way it happens is not what they want.

Changes were previously either reverted or changed further to be what they first intended.

Was was first intended that is contradicted by a Survivor wearing an RBT disconnecting?

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/459143#Comment_459143

No, cause in that case it's intended.

In the current state, it is not.

They were gonna DC anyway, so they wanna take your trap with them.

At least, it doesn't make sense to me that they'd think: "If she doesn't put it on, i'll stay, but if she does, i'm out."

They're still taking away something you were actually supposed to have after their disconnect.

Why does it matter if it was intended? The end result is still the same: You are down a trap and they are down a Survivor. The advantage would be the same.

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/459130#Comment_459130

When i play Pig and someone disconnects early with it on, i won't have that for the other 3.

Then they go and run around and take them off, and then i have none left while i could've made one of them run around once more.

A rare situation i'll admit (though it's been made more common recently thanks to the DC bug), but that's why it'd still be neat to have.

Them disconnecting is an advantage for her, but it doesn't put her herself in the better position necessarily.

You really maybe could make good use of 1 more RBT, and then it wouldn't be bad to actually have it.

Would you be saying the same thing if the trap insta-snapped on that Survivor? Because that is effectively what it is. You are down a Trap, and they are down a Survivor.

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/459124#Comment_459124

    Alright then.

I disagree, but i can see why you'd think that way.

Well, let me ask this: Why would a Pig mind that the trap was wasted when the Survivor side lost a whole teammate? That is already favored for the Pig.

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/459103#Comment_459103

That's good, cause no one says it would be limited to this idea.

No reason she can't have both.

True. Let me rephrase that: I don't want a buff that is only applicable when a Survivor DCs. That's just rubbing salt in the wound for no reason.

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/458834#Comment_458834

Hence the questionmark in the title.

I wasn't sure if her getting such a miniscule buff would be...healthy to the now-crippled team.

I simply like making ideas to see what the general thoughts of others are on said ideas.

Most seem to like it though.

I don't. I want Pig to get buffs that aren't only applicable when a player DCs.

  • I'm in favor of removing Mori cancelling. Also in favor of disabling leaving during a Mori.

  • I mean, isn't a Survivor disconnect bad for fellow Survivors (unless it's to give the last person the Hatch, but that's a whole different discussion)? Why make it just a little worse for them by reimbursing the Pig?

  • @Chi said:

Why would BT be included? Just don't tunnel?

Screw that. I'll just shut off my Terror Radius so BT doesn't work.

  • I've had one or two weird instances of Survivors immediately dropping their gear as what I assume is an attempt to offer a chance to farm to avoid being sacrificed (and one who did it in the beginning and DC'd when I just downed him), but Homey don't play dat.

Pig is the only Killer that has 2 abilities alongside M1

She still has sneak attack, something Trapper doesn't have in end game.

Sneak Attack is hardly useful during the endgame outside of countering Borrowed Time, though. At least the Trapper's Bear Traps can still do something.

  • I mean, I don't see why starting off healthy wouldn't still be a hard mode if you can't heal? I'm all for it.

3 times is a very small sample size.

@tag Actually, yes, everything he says supports it.

I will walk you through it, where you can even see the stat i discussed, in the video @peanits posted.

    Again, video is here: https://www.twitch.tv/lmclean_bhvr/clip/SnappyRamshackleIguanaPupper?filter=clips&range=7d&sort=time

SO in this video, while he talks, you can clearly see the stats of where survivors remove their traps. Clearly at box 1, it states that 51.2% of survivors remove at the first box. This is a clue. Write this down to remember it.

Next, he describes how the RBT works. When you generate an RBT (put it on someone's head) it generates a key ID. This is an RNG roll for each of the boxes. When you generate a RBT (place it on someone's head) It generates a key id, it then gives that key id to a box. Remember this, write it down, it's a clue.

There are 4 jigsaw boxes by default. That means the statistics for removal should be 25% across the board, in a perfect world. However, the success rate on the first box is above 50%. This is a statistical abnormality. Even considering the free will aspect of the problem, that statistic shouldn't be over 50% unless their was a pattern for the RNG for the Key ID.

To figure out why, we look at the other clue, that the key id is generated when you place a trap on a survivor., this is where the pattern would develop. If it were rolling on a static field (boxes 1-4 are always 1-4 during the match) then if it rolled the same thing, it would still put the key in random parts of the map. which would statistically lower the chance of a first trap removal.

Now when you factor in it rolling which box is considered "box 1" at the same time, you come up with the possibility of doubles occuring. when rolling 2 d6, you have a 1 in 6 chance of rolling doubles. 2d4, is 1 in 4, or 25% of the time. If you add that 25% of the time, with the statistical norm that 25% of people should get it on the first box. You come out with about 50% chance that the first box searched (the box the survivor can get to first) will be the correct box.

I just want to make sure I am not misinterpreting you.

You do understand that the stats being displayed are not official BHVR stats, but rather something put forth by someone on Reddit, correct?

  • @Peanits said:

When you put a trap on someone, it picks a box. To get the trap off, they need to go to that specific box to take it off. Technically there's a 100% chance to get it off at that specific box and a 0% chance at any other box.

In practice, since you don't really have any way of knowing, it's like having a 25% chance. But there actually is a correct box and the rest won't do anything.

Thank you very much for finally explaining how it works on here. It can get very annoying having people insistent that the code on the RBTs is broken because they totally get it on X box too many times to be a coincidence!

    @SmokePotion said:

@Peanits That sounds dynamic, and is probably why more then 50% of survivors get the trap off first try. It's generating a key to closer boxes. There's some rng to it, but maybe ya'll could touch up this code?

TY very much for the info though. You just helped me win an arguement.

Nothing about what McLean said supports your claim that the coding is faulty in that it "chooses the closest box to where the Survivor was trapped too often."

  • Killer. I rarely play Survivor, so I am flat-terriblr as one.

  • It's at least okay on almost any M1 Killer, but naturally better on those who excel in mobility.

  • It warms my heart that Surveillance is no longer the worst perk in the game.

  • I ain't gonna play any different than I normally do, even if I throw out the occasional Pudding or Streamers because I have them.

Nurse thing is not a bug because if you ever read its description it doesn't gain stacks against killers powers and nurses blink is considered her using her power

Vault speed definitely was not increased they increased the speed for medium vaults not fast vaults

Legion was DEFINITELY broken because of how he can end chases without even needing to have skills just stabby stabby over and over until the survivor falls plus he is now at 115% movement speed to compensate his nerfs

Also I don't understand how BT is boring for survivor its a game changing perk that can determine if that person survives or not

Lastly we arn't just talking about you sure you say you may not camp or tunnel but a lot of other killers do and then they complain about why they can't get kills

    Anything Else?

"Nurse thing is not a bug because if you ever read its description it doesn't gain stacks against killers powers and nurses blink is considered her using her power"

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but didn't BHVR say somewhere that the Nurse attack from a blink not proccing MoM was a bug?
