So i took a break for acouple of months from DbD.
Pursued some other hobbies, joined another community that i'm really happy with. Overall i was a lot happier.
Now recently i started going back to play some dbd and not much changed. I still was happy, and while there are still problems with the game i could brush them aside and pretty much enjoy all the games i played. Win or loss didn't matter.
Then i started going back to the forums. Not even talking that much, just reading what people had to say.
It didn't take long untill suddenly i started getting annoyed at the game sometimes and i felt my mood going down.
I always knew this community wasen't the best but now after being part of an actuall positive one i start to realise just how bad it is.
Now i realise this is probably mostly me being very easilly influenced by such things but i'm it applies in some degree to everyone.
If you are someone who visits the forums dailly and the game is wearing down on you or your overal mood isn't well.
Quit the forums before you quit the game.
You would be surprised just how much this constant barrage of negativity can influence how you feel about the game and outside of it.

Only if you perceive those things as a negativity. I, personally, find it funny.

Descend Beyond (but ive no idea if you will be able to perform good on blight with ps4 30fps), portrait of the murderer, leatherface are good.
-
Xbox series X, FPS drops on Haddonfield as well and bird-lady map in the main building. Some other maps too, i think when you look in the distance you got occasional drops.
-
No, time penalty is fine.

true- but that's just killers excuse lately
Why there should be any excuse for completing your main objective?

Yes, unfortunately this update will be bigger than normal that's due to the engine change I'm afraid so it will be a slightly longer download than we'd ideally liked.
However, the game will take up less disk space now as the way it's been packaged has been changed.
44.5gb on xbox D:
thats almost the whole game
-
They can add any new character to the game, why retcon?
-
@tippy2k2 said:
I thought they said they fixed that
I'm on Xbox so I've never had that issue but isn't that why the last update was like 5,000 GB big?
yeah, same. xbox <3
-
You got to delete the game to update it?

Perhaps "non-toxic" would be a better phrase.
Entitlement of deciding -- whats toxic and whats not is toxic.

There are no sanctions against campers and tunnelers.
But there is punishment for dc players #########?
Because the person in front of me is not playing fair, I will be dc and a penalty will be given lmao
Why there should be sanctions against campers and tunnelers?
Do not DC, there won't be any punishment.
-
STOP TUNNELING THE FIRST PERSON OUT THE GAME
Why would I help you, an opposing team player? I mean playing vs is 3 easier than vs 4 players. If you got caught it is on you.
I would like to have a chance to actually play the game, thank you.
There is an offering to spawn far far away from the killer, try it out.
-
Sorry I should have specified more with the exact troll when it came to the killers. I'm mainly talking about the ones that down you but don't hook you and just leave you there.
But it is not trolling, mate.
-
I used to be a major team player in the random matches but I'm feeling like maybe I need to pull back and focus on my own escape. I don't want to be selfish but I don't like having to do extra work when there are four Survivors. Any thoughts?
Play the game the way you want, and do not make other people entitlement dictate you how to have fun.

I would assume everything that kills does. A kill is a kill, no matter how it’s achieved.
bleeding out does not credit to rift challenges saying "kill by any means neccessary" so it possible that it does not credit towards MMR.
-
Ranks were awesome.
-
If there is MMR -- it should be shown.
-
All they need to do is get rid of great skill checks on wiggle.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly.
-
WHO DO YOU THINK IS IN THE WRONG HERE?
interacting with people in end game chat.
-
Both alien and predator would be cool. Also dead space thingies!

@GoodBoyKaru said:
I mean yeah. Because every single time the crying would go something like this:
"Why am I, as a bronze player, going against red ranks?"
"Grades have no correlation to matchmaking they just indicate monthly playtime."
"That's great but why am I going against red ranks????"
"They literally have no relevance to matchmaking."
"Okay, but why am I, as a bronze player, still being paired with red ranks?!"
It was a wonderful cyclical argument of people wanting any excuse to blame something for a bad match that isn't just a terribly designed system and they would not listen so the grades were removed. Magical.
Grades should not exist in the ecosystem of newly invented SBMM. There should be shown MMR instead of that which will not give wrong feeling about how you, bronze, face red ranks. SBMM is a self made problem that introduced grades problem, which was "fixed" by removing the entire system out of the game. Like whats the point of grades? Its atavism. Old system was functional, there was no need to invent this matchmaking.
But MMR is elitism! You can't see your numbers because it will make you feel good about yourself!

If I wanna run a Basement Chest Defender meme build, I will.
You cannot just let them take the basement chest! \o/

Notice how most of the people on here joined recently, and probably havent had that much experience with farmers. After 6 years, it gets pretty boring. Nothing you can say can change that. Sorry you guys havent experienced it enough to be bored of it. I liked it at first too.
I even wondered when I got the game. ^^

btw i don't remember buying it lol

Still waiting on valid reasons lmao, so far it's just angry people who cant accept that not everyone likes to play boring matches.
Well, I can say that most of the matches are pretty boring. Same perks, same killers, you know.

Thats not an actual reason. Thats just you trying to be funny. Other people might find it enjoyable I guess, but once again I should not have to suffer through that because you dont want to play the game correctly. Sitting there hitting a pallet because you want to be stunned is not how the devs intened people to play. Messing around with the killers is fun, but thats a different story for when a game turns into random nonsense like that somehow. That's actually pretty funny. Not when someone loads into a match with the intention to not play right.
Oh my god.
Such a suffering!
Jesus wept.
-
>Give me an actual good reason why farming isnt boring.
you interact with players in a funny way crouching or waving your head or whatever you can do with the bare minimum of actions you can perform. Its actually quite fun to engage survivor so he understands that you won't hunt him.
-
People just can't leave the pig alone. ;/
-
Don't slug, don't camp, don't tunnel, don't let other survivor wiggle out. So what else?
-
If you derank it does not automatically mean that all your previous experience does not exist.
System is flawed. Hard games do not feel rewarded. People are people.
-
Bubba, because of the immense emotional pressure from survivors after you facecamp them.

They won't show your or others MMR score as stated on the last Q&A because of elitism.
Personally i loved to see my own MMR, I don't care about the MMR from other players tbh
Same logic as behind not showing scoreboard in latest battlefield, yeah right path to take...

@Mandy said:
Removing Grades from the end screen has been one of the most requested things from the Community.
A lot of the community believed that grades = MMR which it clearly does not, Grades are pretty much only a representative of time played that month and nothing else.
It does not affect matchmaking in the slightest.
The matchmaking changes that were implemented will affect a very small portion of the players - those at the very peak off MMR.
why not show an MMR then and remove\replace grades completely with like monthly XP which in the end tranfers to BP.

I agree it's pretty bad but in a different way than most games. I don't get toxicity often, but when I do it's pretty nasty homophobia, sexism, and degrading language. Sometimes it's so ridiculous that it becomes a lot easier to troll them and get a laugh out of it.

DBD people are a lot less likely to get under my skin for real versus other games like LoL or Overwatch. But still bad nonetheless. I would def suggest trolling any toxicity that comes your way to lighten the situation for yourself.
Ah, Overwatch... the only game that really make me mad. ^^

As it should be in a PvP videogame!

It feels the same for you, but the server messes things up. Just like the streamer getting random sprint bursts. On their vod they were running normally, but on my screen they would suddenly zoom away as the server tried to sync their position.
it has nothing to do with platform. its server and lag issues.
Old gen console are slow, they load slow, have stuttering same as old PC with 10 year old i7 and 8 year old GPU. I guess when PC or console stutters it produces some kind of packet loss or whatever and you see such things as getting random sprint burst.

Huh.. must have been a different video where i saw movement was tied to frame rate. That's why the cheatsy blight flick worked until they patched it.
still. lag = weird movement.
Lags have nothing to do with OS, hardware. It is the latency between host and your PC (+ input latency, but it is usually low).
Also, game and PC\Console register your button presses -- those things do not depend on whether you see your game on 30 fps\ 60 fps\ 120 fps. This numbers effect only on your perception.

Even with good ping, consoles act weird when it comes to validation. Back when they released pallet validation console users couldn't be touched, even if they had decent ping. They also seem to be the ones that mess with aim dressing (auto aim) and drag my killer into corners or window frames.
They also move weird. In one of Coconutrts's videos they were trying to figure out if someone was cheating. The survivor looked like they did two dead hards in a row, but it turned out to just be janky console movement caused by their framerate? That's what he said anyway.
I have been getting high pingers quite often in the last month for some reason. It's just really starting to get on my nerves, with dodgy things happening so often now.
Movement because framerate? The game feels the same on both platforms. "movement framerate" is like flat earth conspiracy theory.
Console is the same PC but with different OS, even hardware is PC ish, the same direct x on xbox.
-
What have console to do with ping? I play on xbox and PC and i have 45-55 ping on both. 90% players I face are lower than 70 ping. Rare occasion that I face someone around 100+ ping.
-
>playing casually is impossiblesink your MMR.
People play nice, get ######### on for it and then stomp some players playing nice, who then do the same to other people. This is how basement Bubba is born. ^^

Sometimes I want to turn crossplay off so I can avoid PC players as a console killer because a lot of them seem to be above my skill level. Like stomp games.
When you turn crossplay off it takes an indefinite time to find a killer game. Crossplay on and you find a game within seconds and its like always someone with Hex: (insert name) as there name with flashlights who can loop you for the entire game if you chase them.
Before mmr was implemented you could find a game with crossplay off quickly. Are there just no PS players at my mmr it's annoying.
Tried turning off on xbox, could not find the game at all. I guess crossplay ON is the default setting?

im just curious as people always bring this up about the game being based for casual or competitive. and by competitive, i just mean you want to win, not literally comp
I set my own goals and sometimes its competitive, sometimes not. Like I wanted to reach red grade or get P3 on my fav killers.

Exactly very true. I personally love engaging with people I call out good plays and whenever I came across good teams or amazing survivors I call it how it is. Firm believer in positivity whether win or lose you always learn and grow.
Well, yeah, me too. I keep negativity to myself or express is a subtle way. But, I do not think we should expect a lot of people, so...

I guess that's an option that could be discussed by the DEVS. Individuals just need to accept that you win some you lose some. That's life for you unfortunately. But I hope the post can bring light to unnecessary behavior not only in DBD but all games
That is an option for anyone, except for console players -- they do not have any chat at all and its all good, everyone else can just turn the chat off and not deal with... people.
-
Another reason you don't want an end game chat - noone will get offended by anything, which is a frequent occasion these days.
