I only use it when I get those tome challenges to repair x amount of gens. Always pair it up with Prove Thyself. However, Kindred is way better and in an ideal scenario, I DON'T want anyone working on the same gen when we can pressure multiple ones.
-
It's fair game. Hate it when a survivor brings a key which forces a killer to burn a mori, but it is 100% fair. Not fair for the rest of us solo survivors, but I don't blame the killer.
-
Non issue. Maybe you need a small break from the game if THIS is something that's starting to tilt you. It'll do you good!
-
Overall it's been fine for me. It was a rough start, but I always do totems at the start of matches. One thing I do not enjoy however is the free wall hacks undying gives you. It's not fair IMO.
-
I've tried running games without it and it's pretty miserable. Even now, I'm trying to play without it and if there's no other obsession in the game, the killers tend to play very scummy at red ranks. I don't blame them though as it's the most effective way of winning if there's no obsession.
I decide to run it so that at least I create an obsession and make the killer play around it. Otherwise, they're free to tunnel off the hook any time without any consequence.

To play against I love:
The Blight because of that awesome chase music and I've run into very good Blight killers. It's a blast versing him and tend to enjoy the majority of matches where I go against one.
Billy, Myers, and Huntress. Billy because of the constant map pressure which I find very fun as survivor. Myers because he's a stalky boy, and Huntress because I love hearing the lullaby. Also, regarding Huntress - once cross play was enabled, I've run into PC literal sniping gods Huntress' and I'm just awed at the insane accuracy they have. Love those matches.
To play as:
Trapper, Clown, and Piggy. Trapper because I love hearing the sound of someone landing on my bear trap. Clown's power is really fun to use for me and I love his cosmetics. Piggy because I LOVE playing end game Piggy with the last survivor who gets a trap. I always try to save one last trap for 1 survivor before the last generator pops so that it's active when they finish it. I will open 1 of the exit gates and crouch follow them to see what they do. Will they try to remove the trap? Will they try to look for the hatch?! It's so fun watching them panic and decide what they're going to do. Whatever they decide I'll let them escape IF they can remove the trap + leave through the gate or hatch. <3

I never DC, but I don't enjoy Legion matches because the majority of survivors don't know how to counter him. They all insist on sticking together instead of splitting up to work on different generators. In addition, the amount of self care I see against Legion only to see them get injured within seconds of them getting healed is unbearable.
I once had a match against Legion on Lerry's that had sloppy, thana, dying light, and ruin. The dying light obsession was a Feng and for the first 5-6 minutes no generators were being done at all. I tried powering through, but I always had survivors get downed/hooked, be near me so I would get feral frenzy'd or chased away, while Legion kept getting stacks of dying light. I decided to give up on my first hook since the only generator finished was mine. I decide to spectate and counted how many times the dying light obsession Feng self cared. 7 times. That's not even counting the amount of times she did it while I was still alive during the trial. The match must have gone for 25-30 minutes where no other generator was done.
That's why I dislike facing Legion as a solo survivor. I won't DC, but if I see that no one is bothering to do gens and self care, I'm out on my first hook. No thanks!
-
Blight followed by Pyramid Head. I really love the main menu theme for Blight. It fits his character so much and the chase music is the cherry on top.
-
I didn't even notice. 😂

With the old repair gen sounds, yes. For example on The Game, you could continue repairing a gen within the killer terror radius and it's hard for the killer to know someone is working on a gen. With these new gen sounds, it's worthless because the generators will still do those new noises.

If everyone ran bond there would be no need for kindred.
Kindred gives me more information than Bond ever could. I love bond, but I will always rock kindred over it. With Kindred I know where everyone is when someone is hooked. I know who is going for the save, I know what generators my team mates are working on, it reveals the killer for myself and the team in addition to providing aura reading to the entire team whenever I'm hooked.
-
Do you really have to mori a survivor for the devour hope challenge? In previous tomes, the wording may seem like you need to mori someone when actuality you can just hook sacrifice them. Is that not the case anymore!?

Hasn't technician always lowered the radius of gen sounds, not the actual volume?
The previous repair noises were reduced. You were able to tell if you had the perk based on the difference the noises make. Yes, it reduces the repair noise in an 8 meter radius, but also your actual repair sounds.
-
It still does the new loud gen sounds unfortunately. I don't know if it's bugged.
-
Solo queue player here. I once was in a match against a Legion on Lerry's. He was using thana and dying light. The obsession was a bunny Feng who every time she got feral frenzy'd, she'd self care. The only generator that was completed was mine after I hook suicided because it was about 7 minutes and no one else was doing anything. Constant hooks from Legion to get more stacks of dying light. They'd all try and heal and Legion would come to feral frenzy them in a matter of seconds.
I counted how many times this Feng self cared. Over 10 times. Ridiculous.
-
I've tried it with self care and didn't notice a difference with desperate measures. Where I did notice a difference is when I healed myself with a medkit.
-
Trust me man, I know the pain. Earlier in the AM, I had a match against Doc in The Game. I had not gotten hooked all match and was saving everyone/healing them/doing gens. We have 1 more generator left that was at 95% until the Doctor comes and he starts chasing us off the gen. I was injured while the other two survivors were healthy so he starts chasing me. I try to take the doc away from the last gen thinking the other two would stay to finish it, but nope! I get downed and he hooks me in front of that generator and see the other two survivor auras across the map.
They did not stay to commit to finishing it for some reason and gave the doctor a reason not to leave my hook or the almost completed gen that was regressing. I don't blame the doctor because that was the smartest play he could do. 1st hook of the match and I go into struggle and barely get saved. While I'm hooked I'm thinking OK maybe they are not going to save me because he is sticking around the hook, so they SHOULD work on another gen right? Nope. All 3 just stand there not doing anything.
Eventually I get saved and finish another gen by myself because the other 3 survivors refused to do anything afterwards.
This is in red ranks btw...
-
Because Iron Will exists and works 100% of the time. Now you might say against stridor it doesn't, which IS true, but off the record only lasts for a certain period of time and it only works if you're unhooked and as a solo queue survivor, I'm lucky enough if I get saved at all.
-
I was wondering ######### was up when I picked Ash tonight. I thought the game was glitching on me with messed up sounds. Won't be picking him until it gets fixed.
-
I use it and the only thing I'd change is to decrease the cool down just by a tiny bit. TINY though.
-
Got it last year. Adept Nurse was a pain in the ass, but because of it, i managed to be an OK Nurse afterwards. Blinking 3 times and getting a grab was also hard and even harder now unless you farm for it.
-
As always, appreciate your Q&A posts. I was looking for the stream on their YouTube channel since that's where I always see them, but it's on Twitch now!

Sorry for the off topic but how is that jacket?
i can’t find the exclusive cosmetic anywhere...
It only becomes available once you purchase the actual chapter through the PSN store. You can't see it at all if you buy it with shards.
-
Got stuck twice last night. I somehow managed to escape from it once, although I have no idea how I did it. As a survivor.
-
It's in every one of my loadouts. Mostly for the fact to have an obsession during a match. When there is NO obsession in a match, everyone gets tunneled to death right away. At least with creating one obsession changes the way a killer plays during the match.
-
Bring back the old atmosphere! Have you guys seen footage of how this game used to look? Old maps had so much atmosphere in them and looked better than what we have now. From the fog and the graphics.
Thankfully these new updated maps look like great things to come!
-
I've faced some accurate Deathslingers who hardly ever miss their shots. Trust me, he is very deadly and there's hardly anything you can do to counter his shot. Don't think he's OP because of it, though.
-
Always save one last party hat for one lucky survivor. I will open the gates and begin the game for them! I will crouch follow them and see what they do. Will they try to find the hatch or will they remove the party hat?
Either way, I won't kill them if they find the hatch or remove the party hat since they played the game! I wish I could message them in-game so I can tell them, "I want to play a game". So fun. <3
-
Never do it. Even when I lose, I still learn something.
-
Split up and do different generators. The doctor can only be in one place at a time so if you split up and each survivor works on a different gen, you apply pressure to him. Also, getting rid of Huntress Lullaby will help tremendously. Try not to create a 3 gen scenario either.
-
Demogorgon has my favorite one followed by Clown's.
-
When no one is doing gens and not respecting the time I am giving them by keeping the killer busy in a chase. I run Kindred on all my builds and can tell most of the time when a match is not even worth my time in trying and I'm usually right. I can't trust my team mates to save me on time even WITH Kindred. It's so terrible, man.
-
Use it sometimes. I like pairing it with resilience.
-
I played on Lerry's as Trapper last night and it was really rough. The frame rate issues made that map almost unplayable for me. I kept missing swings, the swing itself would feel choppy and there wasn't anything I could do to perform better against the survivors I got. Definitely one of the most frustrating matches I've had in this game so far and I'm not one to complain about anything when I play killer. But that frame rate? Sheesh!
-
I use it quite frequently. I stay injured most matches, so why not get a 9% boost in everything?
-
I have actually noticed faster matchmaking with crossplay. I play during the night since that's the only time I am available to play and I am not waiting 10+ minutes anymore for a survivor match. Killer remained the same, instant.
-
I ain't losing hope. Something WILL come out of that thread. There is absolutely no way that one, if not the biggest thread on the forums will be ignored. If they don't acknowledge anything then I won't be supporting this game anymore. And trust me, I LOVE this game.

I can see the mods deleted the thread that amassed 1k comments about poor performance on consoles...
They didn't delete it. They locked it. It's a shame that people couldn't follow the rules and got it locked, even having been warned several times.
-
For me I always struggle with blinding the killer challenges. This time I surprisingly got it in one match lol.
-
For me, it's been ace in the hole + plunderer's instinct. I love going chest hunting and the items I get come in handy for me and whoever I end up getting as a team.
-
I run Kindred and the amount of times Kindred has worked against me is unbelievable. Example: everyone is injured and I'm on the hook. Instead of my team mates trying to rescue me before I go into struggle, they'll use the auras of kindred to go towards each other and heal themselves. By the time they're done guess what? I'm in the struggle phase.
Even with this perk, I still can't get saved on time. Solo queue is legit hands down the worst experience in this game, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'll take this mess over EZ SWF.
-
Finished it before the release of level 3. Finished survivor challenges and working on the killer ones. Killer one has been pretty rough due to these performance issues on PS4...
-
I can't stick to one killer. I get bored if I play the same killer over and over again so I vary it up. I'm glad you found one that clicks. The ones that click for me are Trapper and Clown. Still learning Nurse on PS4...i am OK with her.
-
I always do survivor challenges first whenever there's a new level available for the current tome. I started killer today and man is it rough. So much FPS drops. :(
-
Don't lose hope!!

Speaking about survivor...ive been playing survivor alot more lately just cause I dont wanna deal with killer fps...lemme tell you..people werent lying when they said sloppy gives you fps drops holy crap..I ran into a killer that had sloppy today and the stuttering was real.
If anyone is on ps4 playing survivor on dbd. Pray that you dont run into sloppy butcher lol
Or have another survivor open a chest and watch as you either miss a skill check or miss mashing the struggle button because of a worldwide FPS drop.
-
I always pair it up with prove thyself. I don't see the point in running it without it.
-
Very rare actually. Other than the live update when everyone was trying him, I haven't seen much Billy action. A shame, IMO because he is fun to face.
-
I feel like it's really easy to tell when you're facing survivors that really don't know how to play. IMO, if you play enough of either role you'll be able to tell right away. Some goes for when you face an obvious inexperienced killer.
I am not one of those players that take advantage of these scenarios because I know how frustrating it can be towards them. As a community, we owe it to ourselves to not ruin their experienced due to wonky matchmaking. Unfortunately, everyone always take advantage, which makes people not want to touch the game again.

one thing about this "metacritic bombing".. I understand the reasoning, I understand that leaving a bad rating at the current DbD is actually the correct thing to do, since it's now borderline unplayable, especially with certain killers, but.
But actively promoting this is not elegant, I don't even know if it's within the rules of the board, and you are exposing yourself (and, most importantly, the thread) to sanctions. I don't want to see this thread closed because of something that won't really help us in any way so...
Please refrain from promoting it any further in this thread. If you want, open another one and do it there (at your own risk, though).
Again, no hard feelings or anything, but this thread is a monument to how bad BHVR is currently working on console, let's have it going.
Agreed 100%. If it continues, it'll just get this thread closed. There are better alternatives to this, we just have to be patient as a community.
